Etchilhampton Hill: a gravitational wave detector drawn in crops? (August 26, 2006)

A new crop picture which appeared on August 18 at Etchilhampton Hill seems to show (i) the four-fold pointed-symmetry of a gravitational wave field, as well as (ii) certain grid lines which are commonly used to represent gravity or curved space time: (...) The accuracy of the Mayan calendar was recently validated by American glaciologist Lonnie Thompson, who found many different lines of evidence for a sudden, worldwide climate change on Earth 5138 plus or minus 45 years ago (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA 103, 10536-10543, 2006). He has attributed that event to "a sudden change in the brightness of our Sun". His dates from radio-isotope analysis agree well with the Mayan calendar value of 5120 years ago for "end of the Fourth Sun". According to that same calendar, the next major event will occur six years from now in 2012. Could that be what the current crop-circle phenomenon is all about? The crop artists have been warning us about wave-like emissions from the galactic centre since at least 1994: see for example a lucid crop picture from that year, which shows a Mayan symbol for the galactic centre on the left, with curly rays or waves emerging on all sides: In modern terms, the Mayan symbol for "galactic centre" might represent the curved in-fall of stars near some black hole, for example Sgr A*. Another pair of crop pictures at Etchilhampton in 1997 warned that our Sun would "flare" in 2012, perhaps due to gravity waves passing through it. In 2005, the "mace" showed an explosion from some central source (galactic?) in six spatial directions +x, -x, +y, -y, +z, -z, where various star systems affected were seemingly drawn all around: Isabelle Kingston noted, from supposed psychic contact, that crop pictures are being given now "at a cataclysmic time in Earth's history. Evidence, he says, of the biggest cover-up in history - one too evil for most to believe, but one he has staked his academic career on exposing. Jones, a physics professor, is not alone. He is a member of 9/11 Scholars for Truth, a recently formed group of around 75 US professors determined to prove 9/11 was a hoax. In essays and journals, they are using their association with prominent universities to give a scholarly stamp to conspiracy theories long believed in parts of Europe and the Arab world, and gaining ground among Americans. It is impossible, says Jones, for the towers to have collapsed from the collision of two aeroplanes, as jet fuel doesn't burn at temperatures hot enough to melt steel beams. Although the 9/11 Truth Movement, as many conspiracy believers refer to their passion, has been largely ignored by the mainstream media, it is flourishing on the Internet. One of the most popular conspiracy videos online is Loose Change, a 90-min. blizzard of statistics, photographs, documents, eyewitness accounts and expert testimony set to a trippy hip-hop backbeat. It's designed to pick apart, point by point, the conventional narrative of what happened on Sept. 11, 2001. Loose Change is a compelling experience. Take the section about the attack on the Pentagon. As the film points out...the crash site doesn't look right. There's not enough damage. The hole smashed in the Pentagon's outer wall was 75 ft. wide, but a Boeing 757 has a 124-ft. wingspan. Why wasn't the hole wider? There's something empowering about just exploring such questions. Loose Change appeals to the viewer's common sense: it tells you to forget the official explanations and the expert testimony, and trust your eyes and your brain instead. It implies that the world can be grasped by laymen without any help or interference from the talking heads. Watching Loose Change, you feel as if you are participating in the great American tradition of self-reliance and nonconformist, anti-authoritarian dissent. You're fighting the power. You're thinking different.

After years of denial, I've concluded that I'm hopelessly anti-Semitic. Why? It's my terrible attitude. Not only do I disdain U.S. militarism in the Middle East, but I've identified its key enabling causes: intellectual dishonesty, democratic corruption and media deception. But it gets worse: I place the primary blame for America's Mideast disasters squarely on organized Jewry. Here the message is clear but mixed: Iranians, Iraqis and non-Jews in the Middle East can't be trusted with nuclear deterrence. But Israel? Your nukes are absolutely fabulous, babe. No doubt about it: Israel is not only America's most coddled ally, but Israeli-Americans enjoy government-sanctioned, special treatment. (...) Brigham Young University placed physics professor Steven Jones on paid leave Thursday while it reviews his involvement in the so-called "9/11 truth movement" that accuses unnamed government agencies of orchestrating the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center. (...) Jones became a celebrity among 9/11 conspiracy-theory groups after he wrote a paper titled "Why Indeed Did the World Trade Center Buildings Collapse?" He said he found evidence of thermite — a compound used in military detonations — in the materials. In many years of years of debating the great issues of the Middle East, I've stared often enough into the eyes of madness. Last Wednesday night, I hit the jackpot. I took part in a debate about the present chaos in the Middle East at the Tarrytown Music Hall. I was teamed with Nada Khader of WESPAC, a Westchester peace group, and we were set to face Morton Klein of the Zionist Organization of America, and Sidney Zion of the New York Daily News. Nada is Palestinian and has seen the effects of Israeli occupation and aggression in Gaza; Klein and Zion are Jewish-Americans who side with the Israeli rightwing. Me, I'm just an American goy who became interested in this topic during Israel's blitzkrieg on Lebanon in 1982. (...) By now it was nearly impossible to speak without disruption. As I tried to trace the Zionist narrative from the 1920s to now, citing Ze'ev Jabotinsky and David Ben Gurion, Zion went nuts, screaming, "What the fuck are you talking about?!" and informing the audience that "this son of a bitch is a goddamned liar!" though Zion offered zero illustration that this was so. I tried my best to ignore him (tough to do, as Zion trash talked me off-mike as I spoke, suggesting that I wanted to see Jews murdered, etc.) and talk to the audience, which was getting more stirred up by the minute, heckling and shouting back at the stage, mostly at Zion, who naturally told them to shut up and drop dead. I said that if anyone doubted me, they could go online and find these early Zionist documents for themselves. Simply Google the names I mentioned and check the sources that pop up.

With the enthusiastic cooperation of the media, the government has managed to convince us that we are surrounded on every side by crazed bomb throwers and that we must at all times be vigilant and allow the government "to do its job," which is code for "anything it wants." Here's a headline from the Houston Chronicle: "Latest terror scares show airport threat lingers." That's like saying, "Latest false alarms show fire threat lingers." Since the object of terrorism is to spread terror, the "latest terror scares" demonstrate only that the government is abetting the work of terrorists. Here's my favorite story, as reported by the Associated Press: "A United Airlines flight...was delayed because a small boy said something inappropriate, according ! to a government official speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the information. 'He didn't want to fly,' the official said." I hope that small boys do not hear about this. Mad at Mommy? You can turn her airplane around! Listen to the people interviewed at airports. "It's worth it," they say, patiently standing in line. Is it worth it to, say, raise taxes to pay for better veterans benefits? Maybe it's easier to be afraid. Lebanon constitutes a strategic corridor between Israel and North-western Syria. The underlying objective of this war was the militarization of Lebanon, including the stationing of foreign troops, as a precondition for carrying out the next phase of a broader military agenda. Formally under a UN mandate, the foreign troops to be stationed on Lebanese soil on the immediate border with Syria, will be largely although not exclusively from NATO countries. This military force mandated by the UN Security Council is by no means neutral. It responds directly to US and Israeli interests. Moreover, the timely withdrawal of Syrian troops, following the February 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri has contributed to opening up a "new space". The withdrawal of Syrian troops served Israeli interests. The timely pullout was of strategic significance: it was a major factor in the timing and planning of the July 2006 IDF attacks on Lebanon. In the aftermath of the Israeli bombings and the "ceasefire", UN Security Council Resolution 1701, drafted by France and the US in close consultation with the Israeli government, has paved the way for the militarization of Lebanon, under a bogus UN mandate. Confirmed by official statements and military documents, the US in close coordination with Britain (and in consultation with its NATO partners), is planning to launch a war directed against Iran and Syria. US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton has already initiated the draft of a UN Security Council resolution with a view to imposing sanctions on Tehran for its alleged (nonexistent) nuclear weapons program. Whether this resolution is adopted is not the main issue. The US may decide to proceed in defiance of the Security Council, following a veto by Russia and/or China. The vote of France and Britain, among the permanent members has already been secured. US military sources have confirmed that an aerial attack, pursuant to a sanctions regime on Iran, with or without UN approval, would involve a large scale deployment comparable to the US "shock and awe" bombing raids on Iraq in March 2003.

If aerial bombardments were to be launched against Iran, they would trigger a ground war and the escalation of the conflict to a much broader region. The American Community Survey also demands that you to report on the activities of relatives, employers and roommates. Joseph Stalin could hardly ask for more surveillance powers. In the past two months, the Ofer Prison Camp has become the de-facto new seat of the Palestinian Legislative Council as well as the Palestinian Cabinet. Quite a few of the legislators and ministers were brought here already in the army's first late-night sweep back in July, among them Sheikh Abu-Tir whose East Jerusalem home hosted a first hopeful effort by Gush Shalom activists to open a peaceful dialogue with the new Palestinian government, and his fellow Palestinian M.P. Atun.Ofer - once an innocent Hebrew first name. When the army invaded Ramallah in April 2002, many hundreds of its inhabitants were detained and taken off to the army camp which bore this name and which until then housed only soldiers. The Palestinians were initially kept in the mud and exposed to pouring rain. Human rights organizations protested - and the army made Ofer into a full-fledged prison camp, complete with cells and enclosures and high walls and prominent guard towers easily visible to Israeli motorists on the new Tel-Aviv-Jerusalem Highway (use of which is forbidden to Palestinians). Behind these walls, hundreds of Palestinians are incarcerated, and new ones added in the raids the army conducts every night. Many are held there without any semblance of a judicial process. Others do get some sort of a trial in the courtroom which is part of the prison complex - but the verdicts delivered by the military justices are always very predictable. The fact of occupation was laid starkly bare, stripping off the last thin pretence that the Palestinian Authority is a sovereign body, when in the beginning of August it was proudly announced that the fugitive Speaker Dweik of the Palestinian Parliament had been nabbed, having been incautious enough to spend one night in his Ramallah home. Subsequently, Dweik was duly charged at the Ofer courtroom with "being a member of an illegal organization" - the incontrovertible evidence being that he had presented himself to the electors as a candidate of (yes) the Hamas Party, and been actually elected on that party's ticket and was subsequently nominated and sworn in as Speaker of the Palestinian parliament. Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is under fire from critics for plans to open two labs in the region — in Livermore and in Tracy — to research dangerous microbes. Lab officials say the labs would be safe, but critics fear either lab could accidentally unleash billions of dangerous disease-causing pathogens into the air.The diagram shows hypothetical releases of deadly anthrax spores. Computer scenarios performed by Matthew McKinzie, a nuclear physicist who is a consultant to the Natural Resources Defense Council, show the different paths of spore clouds dependent on wind direction. (...) When winds blow east to west, a cone-shaped trail would pass over San Francisco, exposing more than a half-million people. She wrote: "The Department of Defense and Homeland Security have chosen Livermore Lab (and now Tracy) for a Bio-defense Lab in which they will test on animals the lethal agents that could be used on us in case of terrorism. These will include all forms of biological and chemical agents–i.e. anthrax, viruses for which there is no cure, and other substances they will not reveal. The agents must be aerosolized for the testing and scientists familiar with this situation have said if ANY of the agents become airborne, "it could kill hundred to thousands of people within a 50-mile radius of the lab" (and that is when the wind is not blowing). The lab is situated on a fault and the agents will be transported to and from the lab by FedEx on a regular basis.  The situation provides opportunities for an accident and/or human error–not to mention that such a facility could be an obvious target for terrorism."

01 September 2006 - The world faces a catastrophic rise in global warming in 2050 unless urgent action is taken to cut human-induced carbon emissions, a leading academic warned yesterday. Professor Peter Cox, of Exeter University, told the Royal Geographical Society annual conference that temperatures could rise 8C by 2100 because of a "compost effect" which could see carbon dioxide levels increase 50 per cent faster than previously estimated. Currently, around one quarter of carbon emissions are absorbed by the soil and one quarter by the oceans. It had previously been assumed that these proportions would remain the same. But Professor Cox said that global warming is damaging the soil's ability to absorb carbon emissions. He said this vicious circle would reach crisis point in 2050 when a key threshold would be passed. After this point the land would begin to release carbon into the atmosphere. He predicted that this "compost effect" would lead to carbon dioxide levels rising from the current 380 parts per million to more than 1,000 parts per million by 2100. (...) As most of you know, El Niño conditions put a major damper on both the number and intensity of Atlantic tropical cyclones. This is primarily due to increased wind shear. The upper air winds that develop when one heats the Equatorial Eastern Pacific waters tend to blow from west to east over the Atlantic at high speed. Since the tropical Atlantic trade winds near the surface typically blow the opposite direction, this creates a lot of shear that makes it difficult for a tropical cyclone to survive. Thus far in September, wind shear over the tropical Atlantic has been about normal, so there is no sign that a developing El Niño is suppressing hurricane activity yet. However, if the Climate Prediction Center is right, we can expect an earlier than usual end to hurricane season in the Atlantic, and a quiet November and December--unlike last year! El Niños can be long lived, and if the forecast El Niño for this year develops as expected, it will probably last through the hurricane season of 2007, suppressing hurricane activity next year. CLIP
