1. SUMMARY

We live in times of considerable changes and the tempo of change is now accelerating exponentially. It is not just about the fast-paced scientific and technological developments constantly offering new possibilities to the privileged few in all fields of human knowledge, nor is it just the ever increasing number of adjustments most humans have to do due to a wide range of reasons, whether they relate to global environmental degradation leading to an uncertain future, economic upheavals forcing constant adaptation to "earn a living", or simply the social, cultural and spiritual evolution of billions of people striving to express their innate core truth and experience happiness and a sense of purpose in their lives. There is a much deeper groundswell of potentially Earth-shaking awakenings now swiftly reaching into the deepest recesses of every living soul and helping, albeit subrepticiously, to shift things towards a global spiritual revolution in the very near future. Most people do not yet realize how completely far-reaching and all inclusive these subtle changes are since most of their effects are still below the radar of their ordinary conscious mind preoccupied with day-to-day concerns. But to those who are able to tune into the rumors emanating from the field of potential, when in deep meditation and trance-like at-one-ment with their true divine nature, the signs of imminent global change are unmistakable and coming across loud and clear. Life as humanity has known it for countless millennia is about to be so profoundly transformed that few of the recognizable markers of our currently dysfunctional and corrupted world reality will remain in the new age of spiritual expansion that is now dawning on Terra Gaia.

Violent behaviors, greedy acquisition of material wealth, fear-loaded mindsets, religiously distorted worldviews, even the way we relate to each other as individuals innerly sensing themselves as separate from everyone else, will all be history, not to mention wars, poverty and debilitating human suffering. Loving each other as God loves us, helping each other because it's the natural thing to do, learning to express the most wondrous dormant abilities each soul is endowed with, all of that and much more will be "normal" and forthcoming as if we had always been like that. Other souls in countless other realms of existence and on innumerable other planets in this multidimensional universe have already realized such normalcy and have been waiting for us to join the blissful party.

Now, do we each have anything to "do" to help this intuitive vision become manifested? Yes and no. Yes, through opening our heart to allow our own intuitive sense to guide us through the steps of our own awakening, and no, because it is not a matter of willing this to be or undertaking any extraneous activity to push in that direction, for such efforts would necessarily be driven by the old paradigm/vision of separation that always strives to "control" things around itself to bend them to its will and domination. Angels and infinitely wise souls are there all around us, just below the threshold of physical perceptions, ready and empowered to guide us into knowing/remembering Who We Are. Life itself is gushing through every cell and every feeling of being alive to help us to get rid of the scales still covering our eyes so we may see the blinding beauty, the ecstatic magnificence of what shines through us when we become One with All That Is. Are you getting the feeling these words allude to?... Right! Then...

Please dedicate your prayers and meditations, as guided by Spirit, in the coming two weeks, and especially in synchronous attunement at the usual time this Sunday and the following Sunday, to contribute to the exponential expansion of a supra-consciousness that will soon enable extraordinary outer changes in the ways and means by which human life express itself on this theatre of existence and learning environment, thus creating new opportunities for ever higher vibrational Oneness with All That Is, and precipitating a deep paradigm shift on Earth, for the Highest Good of All.

3. REMEMBERING THE PURPOSE OF THESE ONGOING GLOBAL MEDITATIONS

A Ray of Hope, a Beacon of Unification

Among the numerous initiatives that have emerged in the last few years to further facilitate the opening of a greater number of minds and souls to the innate, transformative power each human has to channel massive amounts of positive energies and love-filled vibrations into the emerging global awareness of humanity, the Global Meditation Focus Group is gradually being recognized as a simple and yet powerful instrument to help catalyze such a change. Resulting from a consensus made through the Internet among a small number of active lightworkers from several countries as to the necessity to better coordinate and regularly circulate calls for synchronized global peace and healing meditations in relation to critical situations occurring around the world, this Global Meditation Focus Group has rapidly defined and occupied a niche of its own in the field of meditation-assisted work designed to alleviate human suffering and foster world peace and a greater cooperation to protect our fragile planetary environment.

Needless to say, this is still a fledging initiative in its infancy and many possibilities remain to be explored and manifested before this global spiritual task force may reach the full expression of its potential. But there are encouraging signs indicating that a growing number of people are participating every week in support, through their prayers and meditations, of its general aims and specific Meditation Focus regularly suggested to everyone’s attention. And so far, it appears that the invisible yet pervasive influence exerted by all the good souls, joining weekly or daily in those moments of spiritual unification with the global family of like-hearted souls, is having a very positive impact on world events and world priorities with regard to alleviating human suffering and creating better conditions for peace, justice and environmental sanity on Earth.

This growing positive influence felt by many as well as the innumerable positively-oriented movements, groups and individuals actively working to make this world a better, safer place for all mean there is every reason to rejoice as more and more people shift their attention and priorities towards the Light of a New Dawn steadily emerging, against all odds, and heralding a new era of spiritual renaissance and expanding awareness of our common responsibility to help make the dream of Peace, Love and Harmony on Earth come true.

As for the choices we can each make to better contribute to the unfolding odyssey of our collective spiritual evolution, let’s just say that the first place to start to find out what our best options are is within, in the silence of meditation and contemplation. Unless we decide to make time for such a vital at-one-ment with the guiding beacon of our spiritual Self, and in so doing create and nurture the inner Knowledge of our Unity with our greater Universal Self, we will be left spinning in the void of illusion, gripped by the clenching hands of materiality and possessiveness, forging ahead aimlessly without any deep sense of our true purpose and mission in life, unable to see beyond the immediate torments of our times the glowing promise of a brighter future for all human beings and every other life form on Earth. The end of suffering is at hand. Let us all rejoice as we make the conscious choice of serving the Light, sowing Love and learning to live in Peace with ourselves and the rest of the world, here and now.

Spiritual Responsibility at a Time of Global Crisis

We are members of one another.
Ephesians, 4.25

by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee

What is our responsibility at this time of global crisis? Many of us are only too aware of the precarious state of the world. We see and feel the tensions of terrorism, the plight of global poverty and hunger, and the ecological crisis that threatens our survival as a species. Any life form that knowingly destroys its own ecosystem is dangerously imbalanced. Our western focus on materialism and the power of greed is spreading over the planet, destroying its resources, polluting both the inner and outer worlds, desecrating the sacred that gives meaning to our lives.

It is easy to feel isolated or ineffectual, to think that the destiny of the world is in the hands of politicians blinded by power, or corporations concerned only with profits. But there is a part that we can play, a way that we can bring light into the darkness and work to awaken the world.

In our own journey we know that any time of crisis is also a time of opportunity. When powerful forces constellate, they carry the potential for transformation as well as destruction. What is true of our individual journey is also true for the world. The tremendous clash of opposites, of light and dark, which is threatening such destruction and seemingly polarizing the world, belongs to the birth pains of a global transformation. But in order for this transformation to be successful it needs our attention. It needs the participation of those who are awake to their own spiritual dimension and are committed to service; those whose consciousness can be aligned to something greater than their personal well-being.

At any time of real crisis our work is to look beyond the plane of action and reaction to where real help and grace are given. Through our meditations, prayers, and devotion, we align ourselves with the love and power of the divine, with the energy of real awareness, without which we are left alone with our own self-destructive conflicts. In this time of global crisis, it is our responsibility to look to a level beyond the problem, to recognize that our personal and political efforts are not enough to undo the destruction that has taken place, to pray for help and to trust that help can be given.

Sadly, we have tended to place meditation and prayer solely within the sphere of our personal relationship with the divine, not recognizing its larger dimension which concerns the well-being of the whole. Yet we have seen the power of prayer in the context of the larger world: after the tragedy of September 11th we had the tangible experience of people all around the world praying, working to hold a space of love and remembrance so that the energy of the divine could help to repair the fabric of life brutally torn apart by the acts of violence. This moment of global remembrance through prayer did not last, but it points to what is possible when we direct our attention to the larger whole.

Only the divine can heal and transform the world—the forces of antagonism in the world are too powerfully constellated for us to resolve on our own. But the divine needs our participation: we are the guardians of the planet. Working together with the power and love of the divine, we can help turn this moment of crisis into a time of global awakening. And what is the nature of this work? In our masculine culture we identify work with “doing” and activity. But to hold a space for the divine requires the feminine quality of “being.” Through the simplicity of living our inner connection to the divine, living the awareness of the heart, we link the worlds together.

The heart of the mystic is like a doorway between the worlds. When our hearts are turned to the Real, we are a way for help to be given. It is so simple, and yet we so easily forget, and instead look outward for a quick fix or an outer authority to solve our problems.

Much of our present predicament comes from isolating ourselves in the outer physical world, to such a degree that we have almost forgotten the presence of the inner worlds. And yet it is always from within that divine grace and healing come. Those who have committed themselves to spiritual work have turned inward, and through meditation, prayer, dreamwork, and other practices, have begun to reclaim the vast and powerful dimensions of the inner.

We need to recognize the power and grace that comes from within. In our own personal spiritual practice we know this inner energy and its potential. Whether we call it divine love or the energy of real awareness we experience how it can change our life, give us meaning and heal us. We also know that when we are together with others in meditation or prayer the energy is amplified. When we link together with others committed to the work of spiritual service we create a vortex of power that belongs to the true nature of life, its sacred unity. We affirm the power of oneness that is needed to change our world.

When different spiritual traditions work together the energy is amplified. The different threads of real knowing, the different ways to praise and remember the divine, come together to create a container more powerful than the forces of greed and corruption. Through this container we can bring the energy of the Real into the illusions of the world. As we step out of the enclosed world of our individual aspiration and recognize this larger dimension to our spiritual practice, we create a network of love and light that is a real force in the world.

As individuals we can turn our attention to our own hearts, to the inner dimensions from where real help is given. As spiritual groups, we can work together and bring spiritual power into life so it can transform the world. In these ways we will begin to participate in the real potential of our time. We can help the world awaken to the presence of the divine.

This is an excerpt from the final chapter of the book, "Working with Oneness" by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee: "Life is an interconnected whole, and the energy of life flows through the web of connections that link part to part. Human beings can work with this energy, to help it flow freely on all levels and to reach every part of the whole. Now, at this time of transition as we move out of one stage in our evolution and into the next, we are being asked to do this-to work consciously with the energy that flows through the web of connections, so that the oneness of life can shape the consciousness of the next age." Working with Oneness - Excerpts by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee
http://www.workingwithoneness.org/excerpts.htm
From Chapter 1, Global Energy Patterns : "The new energy that is becoming available to us is an energy of oneness that can help us live our true role in relation to the planet, a role of stewardship based on conscious interconnectedness." "Only as individuals standing on our own feet can we make a valid contribution to the collective. Otherwise we remain caught in the collective and its patterns of co-dependency that block any real change or development. Taking responsibility for our inner and outer life is necessary if we are to participate creatively in the life of the whole." "As a culture we are so identified with patterns of hierarchy and their levels of exclusion that we overlook the primary truth that the dimension of oneness is all-inclusive. The moment we turn our focus away from our own ego-self and participate in the work of the whole, we step into the circle of our own wholeness." From: http://www.workingwithoneness.org/about.htm

About Oneness

"ONENESS is very simple: everything is included and allowed to live according to its true nature. This is the secret that is being revealed, the opportunity that is offered. How we make use of this opportunity depends upon the degree of our participation, how much we are prepared to give ourselves to the work that needs to be done, to the freedom that needs to be lived."

"If we allow ourselves to be open, we will be shown the possibilities of oneness, the world beyond our prison walls. If we remain within the patterns of our present consciousness, isolated by our fears of what is new, then we will not be able to read the signs of revelation. We will be unable to consciously participate with the new energy, and it will never realize its potential."

"Everything we need is present, but as always what stands in our way is our own self. The ecstatic mystic Bayezid Bistami, who was immersed in unity, expressed this primal truth:
I saw my Lord in my dreams and I asked, "How am I to find You?" He replied. "Leave yourself and come!"

"The energy that gives sustenance to all life flows through specific patterns, like power grids. Part of the potential of humanity is that our consciousness can be directly attuned to these patterns, allowing us to alter and redirect the energy that flows through them. This is a part of our magical nature. Each human being, as a microcosm of creation, has stamped into her consciousness the blueprint of creation, and the human brain has the potential to access this blueprint - to directly work with the patterns of creation." "We carry the heart of the world within our own heart, and through living our destiny we nourish the heart of the world."

- From the book "Working with Oneness" by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee

---

"The outer world has been practically explored, and the physical sciences have advanced enormously. But the inner world of man is almost unknown as a fountain of inspiration and a way to the secret of life. John Bunyan said : "God enters the soul through a wound." The soul of modern man has been wounded by the crisis and spiritual conflict causes by the folly and vanity of the conscious, rational, attitude of mind, and that wound has opened up the unconscious mind. That wound has opened up what the intellect and reason refused to acknowledge and give place to in our life."

"The future of civilization depends upon the freedom of the individual to develop his personal consciousness, to find and to fulfill that essential self, which is unique to each one of us. It can be done by gradually stripping away the impurities, the false ideas and conceptions we have of ourselves. These are a kind of dirt on the inner glass of our psychic outlook."

"Human consciousness is one of the greatest mysteries of life."

"There will then be an organic creation proceeding from the organic sense of life and not from the imposition of a set of intellectual ideas, trying to imprison life in a dead order. It is not order that we need today. It is the organic sense of life, and for that there is no substitute, intellectual or other wise. Until we have the organic sense of life, there can be no creative society, so we have come back again to the consciousness of the individual and his attitude."

"All real creation is personal, in art as in life. The mystery of personality is the basis of romantic art, as it is the basis of democracy. They are one. Democracy is the most difficult and most creative form of society known so far to man, difficult because creative, and romantic art is its natural expression. The creative chaos of democracy with all its weaknesses, hypocrisy and injustice, is much closer to the human way of making a society then the iron prison of dictatorship states, communist or fascist, So, the flowing empirical expression of romantic art is much nearer the actual life of the human psyche."

"Democratic romantic vision of civilization put the responsibility of life upon the individual. We can not give our problems over to some leader, who will solve them. The democratic civilization can be the soil in which the moulding and leavening of personal vision and of the collective unconscious mind of man will create a new world mythology of expression. The re-establishment of the creative imagination in the life of man, the working towards a world consciousness, that is, the idea of the world as one living body, constitutes the great task of the democratic attitude in art and in life, because real creative energy works through diversity. For example, the law of growth is universal one, and yet that law is expressed differently in the form of a rose and in an oak tree. Under the diverse expressions of different artists works the same universal creative spirit, and deep under the consciousness of man works the hidden unity of the unconscious mind of the human race. The time has come for us to affirm the fundamental unity of man, to work for that which unifies him, and not what divides him."

"We are told a lot about our duty today, but it is mans duty to be free. He owes it to society, and I define freedom as the fulfillment of mans essential self. Liberty is not something that is let loose; it is something that is created. It is an achievement first in the individual man, then in a nation, then in the world community. The real measure of our civilization is its fruits. Civilization is created by men of good will, and not by politics. A European once showed an Indian sage a wireless and told him of the wonders of modern civilization, to which the Indian replied- "you make battleships, but can not even control your thoughts, to what will that lead? We know to our cost the answer to that."

"If we are not not all to perish we have got to realize that we are all fruit growing from the same, vast unconscious root of life. In whatever we destroy, we destroy ourselves, for the world is one living body."

"We are at the beginning of a new era, a new cycle of human existence, and this century will see the establishment of a world civilization based more on the organic sense of life, rather than on intellectual conceptions. Keats said, ultimately life can not be lived by precept, but only by constant awareness in itself. This is the organic sense of life to which we shall have to return. Society must be based upon our sense of wonder, the one experience which justifies our being alive."

"This is the age of Holy Spirit, this is the age of the universal principle - the open, flexible field of consciousness, the understanding of the unity of life in the multiplicity of human experience, so that we find in our culture again that hidden unity which transcends the fate of multiplicity and nemesis. As I see it this creative spirit which has entered our world is causing such disturbance that it will have to be answered by the spirit of the earth which we have denied as much as we have denied the spirits of the higher worlds. We have denied the spirit of the earth, and that spirit of the earth has to appear in woman. The meeting of the spirit of the earth and the spirit of the other world is one of the great moments that, I believe, will come in the future history of culture."

- Quoted from Cecil Collins in the book "The Vision of the Fool and Other Writings"

Subject: Wake up Call from St-Germain

This is the day that you all declare your sovereignty and stand up for your Light.

Wake up Call: St Germain Sept 17, 04

My dear friends, I am St Germain, and I come to you this morning to tell you of a development that will likely cause a disturbance in some camps. This is a disturbance that can have far reaching ramifications if not dealt with in a manner that bespeaks the supremacy of all of you on the globe.

In the event that there is a coming together of various parties of the illuminati in the latter part of this day to determine the next course of action, there must be an opposite power that can dissimilate their actions. This is a very simple fact of action, and the action is that of the intent and the heart of love that resides within each and every one of you.

When a group of people comes together to serve themselves and all of humanity there is a tremendous impact on the energy of that collective. This brings about a shift in the energies that formulate to manifest the intent.

You as a group of lightworkers can bring to manifestation your intent for a tremendous change in your life, and indeed that is what I am suggesting that you do.

There is a certain person who is running for the highest office of this land, and he is in peril, for there are forces that are working against him and against the country and the rest of the world. These forces are pulling out all the plugs and serving up the dregs of what they have held at bay for millennia.

My dear ones, I come to you now with a thought that you can gather together and set your intent to put an end to this madness and bring your sovereignty to bear for once and for all.

There is no need to give in one iota to these ones anymore for they know not what they do. They are so consumed by their own avarice that they do not realize that there is a condition by which they are out of control, and they can no longer govern their own advances to extinction.

These ones do not see that they are no longer in touch with their Godself, and therefore, they are operating strictly in an energy of darkness that speaks not of the light within them. They are consumed by their own amnesia, and they are to be dealt with, with the Light; that is the only way.

When I took this stand so many millennia ago, to bring this New Jerusalem to the front and to help to create the new Garden of Eden that is being formed now. I did so with the vision that all would fall into place, for there was no other destiny that was set by God The Creator. That was what told me that this would come about, and nothing would deter man from being able to come back Home to the Light.

What I did not see in that vision was that this play would take these deplorable turns. We have learned much in these last days of the last cabal s reign. We have learned that the momentum gained by the events of the past several months have equaled in opposing but equal strength the Light.

This has caused me to open my eyes and see that in this present energy there is something that has not happened before. The light has increased exponentially, and now there is a new height by which the All That Is may be measured.

Scientists all over the globe are taking measurements that go off any known scale. The times of the day are not being able to be compared with any others and it is astounding everyone who has ever accounted for the rays of the sun and the cycles of the moon.

These are astounding revelations that are occurring and what is being seen is that this reflects the fact that there is a new paradigm that has not even been idealized that is taking place. This evolution that is coming about is one of even the All That Is.

Do you know what this means, my dear ones? It means that you all have the opportunity to be a part of the new extremes of being. You are the formulators of the new paradigm not only for the earth and this universe, but also for all of existence. This has never been done, and it is exponentially taking place.

Now to get back to what I have requested; this is a time when you all can take this step to the stars one more level. You can group together and form a union so strong and so united that only one thing can come from the unitedness; and that is that what you set into your intent Will take place.

I will be taking another stand in the days to come, and I will be joining with all of you, and with all of the celestial body to bring about a proclamation so decisive as to leave no indecision as to what the intent is that Will be manifest.

This nonsense must be stopped and the constraints of the pressure that is upon the illuminati will be released so that they too can come back to the light of the family of which they are surely a part. They are so bound into the energy that they have created that they are flailing about and in their own way are crying out for your assistance to save them.

This is your finest hour, and this is the time when you can stand up and take notice of the power you have as a Oneness in God to bring about the unitedness that is the whole.

You will be given more information in the next few days, and from this you can decide on a course of action that will stir the pots to freedom for All of you.
I love each and every one of you, and I AM in reverence and awe of your beautiful power and Light. I will come back again with more information; till then I bless you all.

Thank you dear Master St Germain,

Love,

Nancy Tate

---

My Friends,

I would like to tell you just a bit about what St Germain is telling us. With all of the things that are taking place in this world, and now with the trouble that is being stirred up in the John Joseph Kennedy campaign, we at the Tree are calling for any who care to band together and show our intent to End This Game of darkness once and for all.

We will be sending you further information in the days to come as to dates, times and specifics for the meditations and events for this to come about. It is time that we all take our positions of authority and band together with the rest of the Family of One.

Love,

Nancy

Doom and Gloom? Your Perception Calls the Tune

By Jan Lundberg

Culture Change e-Letter

9 September 2004

To most people in the U.S., any change that would disturb dominant society's definition of reality is frightening. In a stark portrait of an energy-deprived economic future, we lose our cars, computers, refrigerators, convenience foods, unending plastic objects, and most of the rest of modern life's accoutrements. To most watchers of TV news, this is not a realistic vision but a needless scenario of "doom and gloom."

To others, just losing the right to drive an SUV with affordable gasoline is doom & gloom and unAmerican.

To go further than discussing changes in lifestyle is to warn of deadly consequences of too many consumers running up against resource limits in a biosphere with failing life-support systems. This should be considered a biological and sociological question, but is almost always rejected out of hand by the authorities in power. Or, the honest assessment is considered inconvenient for the public and the profitable, global marketplace.

But if one can see the wonder of healthy nature - working with one another and the ecosystem in harmony - a so-called doom & gloom picture could be a fortunate outcome. Certain challenges of the post-petroleum future could be turned into advantages that include village-based mutual support. One's perception could thereby be joyous upon exiting today's conflict-ridden phase of history and transitioning to a sustainable culture. This essay looks at divergent perceptions and how our reality is to a significant extent shaped by our observing the universe on our familiar material plane with our cultural expectations.

Physics and Society

A petroleum-free, no-growth economic future is not a sufficiently viable basis for a positive vision to achieve a sustainable society. Awareness of our place in nature is essential, but in a world distorted by artificial systems in a decaying environment we must also become aware of the limitations of what we accept as objective reality. Physics has shown that every individual's consciousness is always co-creating in a unified, interconnected reality with every particle and wave that exists and that has ever existed and that will exist.

Unless we broaden and deepen our perception of both the universe and our fellow members of society, we all may perish in persisting to manipulate each other and our ecosystem with materialism and exploitation. The infinite expanse and inward depth of our interconnected consciousness, according to physics, allows for a wide range of outcomes flowing simply from our awareness - even without action taken. As controlling as this might be, it is patently insufficient thus far to aid us in assuring survival, perhaps due to the small minority practicing full consciousness.

The obstacle is from the majority: Reality perceived in a limited, material way - by individuals imagining themselves to be merely separate, independent beings - causes their cultural programming to allow them to see only what they expect to see. In today's trying cultural/perceptual reality, almost all of us in modern society thus fail to sense the greater, inextricable unity of the known and "hidden" universe.

Social Change and Perception of the Universe

The social change that many strive for requires minds that see through the material(ist) obstacles to a more fluid, open consciousness. Simultaneously, a positive future for life as we know it calls for (1.) gutsy action for justice according to compassionate emotions and (2.) calculated organizing to right wrongs.

Among the many other requisites for a healthy culture, society must neutralize threats to our survival such as nuclear waste and weapons - immediately. For humanity to succeed in this challenge it means working together and no longer accepting the leader/follower syndrome. To achieve this, it is essential to look deeply at our perceptual habits. Seeing alternatives is impossible for those hard-wired to relate only to material security. To jar such rigid minds loose, a shocking realization or therapeutic experience must occur. However, if the process of change is suddenly violent, and living from day to day is a challenge to feed oneself, the opportunity for maximizing awareness may be blunted or precluded.

Just as the mechanistic worldview sees order in terms of separate objects and forces, the conventional view of society as depending on taking and distributing resources cannot imagine new definitions of relationships and energy use.

So, although there is an alternative world to experience that departs from the highly wasteful industrial/economics model in place today, people are discouraged from opposing today's system and implementing a new one based on emerging global reality.

The order that the authorities cling to is based on a faulty understanding of the universe. Everything is connected to everything else and operates as a living whole. But this is denied by those who exploit resources and people, as if humans are part of what is considered the expendable environment. Living things and inanimate resources are thought to be lacking in intrinsic value. In the anthropocentric, capitalist paradigm of materialism, a species (any but the human) that is going extinct is of little importance. In contrast, according to both the traditional nature-based cultures and the new awareness of modern physics and ecological thought, the world does not merely contain fuel, wealth, units of this-or-that, to be devoured or discounted by a market.

The Observer Makes Reality

Interestingly, there is no "local reality" for a given particle or object, independent of the rest of the universe or cut off from the whole. This means, in physics, that what is happening with a particular object is also happening everywhere at once simultaneously, on the quantum subatomic level. The same thing can be said of everyday material reality as well as a society's entire human population - we are all connected. It is possible this view will become more widespread and dominant, with sufficient world upheaval or shock.

"The way an observer interacts with the ensemble determines which aspect unfolds and which remains hidden." This statement of physics [The Holographic Universe, by Michael Talbot] refers to the order of the universe as having more than one manifestation (ordered versus apparently disordered), depending on ones' presence, attention and perceptual expectation.

What this can tell us about today's societal priorities and the prospects for transforming the way we view and treat the world, is that the myopic participants of dominant society do not see nature's wholeness. If they do see it or accept it, they quickly dismiss its essential meaning for our common survival, so they will not have to change their lives and risk material deprivation. Many of these aware but uninvolved observers know that society must become cooperative and egalitarian - if humanity and biological diversity are to survive.

Cultural Values - Via Perception - Threatening the World

Society's most reactionary and reluctant elements who hold and defend material wealth now see problems brewing that have just begun to rock their world. They know climate change and oil depletion are hitting an overpopulated, toxified biosphere. Their approach, however, is not at all to let go of any control they think they have over their own and others' lives. Nonrenewable resources will instead be gone after anew, with the hope of merely changing or switching the resources to exploit and exhaust.

They call their tomorrow renewable-energy powered, but on close examination there would still be massive, unending draw-downs of non-renewable resources. This means that only an elite is to benefit from such things as solar panels and green cars, as these manufactured items cannot be given to the Earth's billions of people over many years. The industrialists of both the old and new stripe do not understand or respect entropy, the law of nature that says the structure and quality of matter degrades whenever there is energy-transfer (as with burning fossil fuels).

With all we know, our minds still become rigid in locking perception on the "materialist world." The materialist world is an aspect of the material world that emphasizes the culture of materialism and most concerns of consumer society. When consumerism takes over our minds and hearts, we need to seek natural surroundings or obtain release through yoga or meditation, for example. These respites and tonics are not a substitute for living a spiritually/materially balanced life. Some people think they can "have it all," i.e., driving to a yoga retreat that few can afford.

When the mind is locked, and we can't "turn it off" or find peace or refuge from our thoughts and worries, this is an effect of the manifestation of reality we have created with both our culture and personal choices within it. We become our own prisoners of our perception that is in turn limited by our daily choices and conditions.

Solutions Include Unmasking Reality

The solution does not lie in taking drugs or obtaining the money to enjoy greater advantages of materialism - including even New Age methods of relief. Rather, the solution is in dismantling the "false reality" of materialism and the physical structures of the dominant society. If one could become a spiritual warrior and actually immobilize cars, depave streets and disable any destructive systems, the masses of drones and worker ants of human society might run around wildly in circles of confusion. But they would be freed of their deadly, stifling boxes for a while (or henceforth, if the system crashes).

Street theatre and creative use of media can enhance mass perception, as practiced from the beginnings of society on through to the present. The Yippies and the Diggers of Haight-Ashbury were effective in their era, and new issues have demanded new action. In Sparks, Nevada over the Labor Day weekend, a feast of factory-farm meat - 130,000 pounds of pork ribs - took place. If someone were inclined, he or she could walk through such a crowd wearing a boar's skull with blood dripping from the tusks, as an amplified scary voice intones that it has come to haunt the humans. Experience shows that not everyone in a target audience is swayed immediately, but it can help to enlarge consciousness - despite the riskyness of such an action.

Iraq and Perception of U.S. Mainstreamers

When Iraqi resistance forces destroy U.S.-backed systems of control, and oil facilities are sabotaged, it is an intention to fight Western (infidel) culture and use violence against the violent, alien invader. The people of Iraq feel they have no other choice, as decisions to invade and control Iraq were made years ago without the input of the Iraqi people.

Not every Iraqi is part of the resistance, but a poll in early summer of 2004 put the support rate at 90% of the population. The perceived reality of today's increasingly desperate Iraqis is one of degeneration of cherished old ways and formerly reliable institutions, despite the violence of the previous regime. To meet today's challenge with violence is the choice of those who believe there is no other way at the moment. However, peaceful ways are always better, and are not sufficiently tried by those tending to commit aggression. Then again, self-defense can call for lethal force.

Still, comfortable American materialists who expect to continue their affluent living through profligate energy use (see bottom story on electric power in California) must endeavor to see reality through others' eyes such as Iraqis'. If we do this, we can take peaceful action for everyone's sake by understanding the connections between energy, war, politics and lifestyle.

Death of Nature and Individuals

Our normal cultural perception of reality blinds us to the unique, spiritual essence of each individual. So it is through the death of someone close to us that we can then sense the full being who has departed from our everyday plane as an integrated organism.

When commodification of nature renders the ecos of the economy into a growing wasteland and artificial environment, we cannot appreciate the spiritual, sacred value of life of individuals or whole species. Indeed, most of the individuals participating in the dominant system are unconscious of their true condition and relationship to their often hidden masters. People allow themselves into being herded into darkness, being brainwashed that there is "better living through (petro-)chemistry." Lives and nature are devalued to the point that the extinction of the human race is in the works.

Some Creative Solutions

The situation being what it is, the question is What can we do about it? People who think independently of regimented society and who are not pursuing material wealth in a greedy fashion, instead occupy themselves in various approaches to counter the runaway death machine killing the biosphere and degrading our already compromised lives. Some may pour their energy into helping to bring sustainable agricultural practices to the attention of mainstream members of society. Others may create art or music or write about problems and solutions. Other activists may take direct action against symbols of authority or against the authorities themselves. However, despite the extreme nature of the threat to life as we know it, and the incorrigible behavior of corrupt "leaders," there is little resistance or support for resistance.

The analogy of frogs being slowly heated to boil may be most apt. In Iraq, people felt the boiling water thrown over them and they decided to jump and attack their enemy. This is not to say the Iraq insurgency is not tainted by self-serving elements. And some indulge in certain scams or atrocities to seek vengeance against their opponents.

For consumers enjoying peaceful slavery in their lives as they work for petroleum-guzzling/providing entities, the boiling-water wake-up call could be the sudden unavailability of petroleum. It is then that perception will be radically jolted en masse, if not altered, and the illusion built on petroleum and on oil-wars will dissolve like an acid eating the feet of those dwelling in materialism in their Babylon. But anyone already aware of the petroleum-illusion and who has tried to avoid the corporate juggernaut may be able to sidestep the crash of the falling U.S. giant.

The better our consciousness is developed to see the whole of reality as much as humanly possible, the more likely peace will break out for a long stay.

What the (bleep) Do We Know

The film by the above name is about physics, altered states of perception and consciousness. The vehicle for the film's ideas is a story of a troubled yuppie failing to enjoy her privileged lifestyle in a glamorous city as a photographer. But she is soon taught that she is an integral part of her universe that she is shaping, and that she may as well enjoy the wonder of it all and accept reality. It fails as a comprehensive scientific documentary, but many interesting concepts are thrown at the viewer combined with slick cinematographic/computer effects to tickle the imagination and recall our existing knowledge. The film makers' upcoming project in fall 2004 is to document a global healing conference that features shamans flown into the U.S. from all over the planet.

Last Word

The world that we know in our waking state is a manifestation of reality that conforms to our expectations and normal perception. It is time to both widen and deepen our perception and consciousness, such as paying greater attention to our dreams and learning about quantum physics (which can be amazingly fun). That said, there can be no let-up in action to defend biological diversity and the beauty of nature. This does not mean social justice can or should be ignored, but it must be anchored to Earth defense.

Gross International Happiness Project

The Gross International Happiness Project (‘GIH’) is based on the insight that conventional development concepts such as GNP and Per Capita Income do not properly reflect the general well being of the inhabitants of a nation. In order to develop real progress and sustainability and to effectively combat trends which compromise the planet’s natural and human ecosystems, GIH aims to develop more appropriate and inclusive indicators which truly measure the quality of life within nations and organizations. GIH is inspired by the concept of Gross National Happiness (GNH) proposed by the King of Bhutan, which puts the well being of individuals on top of the national development agenda. Rooted in Buddhist philosophy and values, GIH presents a radically different development paradigm, but one that holds a promise for achieving real sustainability. GIH aims to connect the international efforts which are taking place in the field of developing alternative development indicators, human economics and happiness psychology, so that individual efforts can benefit from each other and that collectively these efforts more strongly impact international development agenda’s.

Presence: Human Purpose and the Field of the Future
http://www.presence.net
How would the world change if we learned to access, individually and collectively, our deepest capacity to sense and shape the future? This is just one of the questions posed by the authors of a book that combines unusual personal honesty with rigorous critical thinking. Presence: Human Purpose and the Field of the Future gives the reader an intimate look at the development of a new theory about change and learning. In wide-ranging conversations held over a year and a half, Senge, Scharmer, Jaworski, and Flowers explore their own experiences and those of one hundred and fifty scientists and social and business entrepreneurs in an effort to explain how profound collective change occurs. Their journey of discovery articulates a new way of seeing the world, and of understanding our part in creating it—as it is and as it might be. Radical and hopeful, Presence synthesizes leading-edge thinking, first-hand knowledge, and ancient wisdom to explore the living fields that connect us to one another, to life more broadly, and, potentially, to what is “seeking to emerge.” Seven capacities underlie our ability to see, sense, and realize new possibilities. Developing these capacities accesses a deeper level of learning that is the key to creating change that serves the whole—ourselves, our organizations, and the communities of which we are a part.

Review of his book
http://www.presence.net/hildebrandt.html
(...) The book is called Presence: Human Purpose and the Field of the Future. Everything in it is based on a holistic worldview with a mutual relationship between the parts and the whole. Living organisms like a tree or a human being are not just a collection of parts, but living organisms in a state of constant existence and manifestation. Constant renewal and recreation. The part is a manifestation of the whole rather than a detached element, or as the physicist Henri Bortoft puts it: Everything is in everything. ”The part is a place for the presencing of the whole”, as the four authors say – the basic message of the book. (...) as long as we keep downloading and repeating the mental models of the past nothing new will happen. How do we stop the reiteration and repetition? And what would the world look like if we learned – individually and collectively – to access our deepest capacities to sense and create the future? How do fundamental changes take place? Where do they come from and how are they created? Over several years the authors of Presence: Human Purpose and the Field of the Future have interviewed 150 researchers, managers, artists, etc. What they've asked is: What are you interested in? What issues are essential to your work? How do you get new ideas? What role does intuition play in your reality? How do you convert intuition into practice? And at a deeper level: Where do new things come from? What are the sources? How alert are you, and from what level of consciousness do your realizations and ideas come? Subject: The Inka Prophecy of the End of Time

From Alberto Villoldo, PhD

"The human drama at the dawn of the twenty-first century is not the drama of the last century. The new myths, the stories that will teach our children and endow them with the will to live epic lives, must be forged - lived and told - by us. Nature is a conjugation of the verb to grow, and the complacent and apathetic will always be the victims of change. Those who choose their destiny consciously will be the heroes, the pioneers, the midwives, and the mothers of the future."

Many of the indigenous cultures such as the Mayan, Hopi, Kogi, and the Inca (Inka) are rooted in a common prophecy which points to our current time on Earth as the end time of a great cycle to be followed by the beginning time for something entirely new or novel, a new cycle. These people have been talking about this time for many millennia.

The Inka Prophecy of the End of Time
Alberto Villoldo, Ph.D.
Synopsis

Q. What does the Inka Prophecy reveal?

A. It announces a time of upheaval and turmoil in the world, starting in the year 2000 and ending on 2012. This coincides with the time frame of the prophecies of the Maya and the Hopi.

Q. When was the Prophecy read?

A. We accompanied the Inka elders with a camera crew to the Holy Mountain, Mt. Ausangate, in 1995. I brought a map and globe of the world. This was the first time they had ever seen a globe. At my request they read the Prophecy for various geographical regions, including the United States and the Middle East.

Q. What did they say about the US?

A. It really startled me, because they said that the United States was at war. They said that we had no enemy in the ordinary sense, but that the enemy was already within American cities. They were clear that the enemy were terrorists that would attempt to wreck havoc on America, and that this would go on for several years, but eventually they would be defeated.

America's courage would be tested. They claimed that buildings and public places would be targeted, and in the documentary we showed the Federal Building in Oklahoma City to illustrate this point. They cautioned us to be alert, and not give in to fear. In the Middle East they foresaw 'a great peacemaker getting killed.' Within two months Izak Rabim was assassinated..

Q. What can we do to prepare ourselves?

A. It As I understood the elders, this war would involve the entire world, a World War III. It would be fought in two camps. The first was the battlefield, the drinking water supplies, and the cities of the Western world. The second would be internal - and would be won by the practices of forgiveness and compassion. The latter is the one each of us must engage through our healing and personal transformation.

MUCH MORE ON THIS AT http://www.thefourwinds.com/AProphecy.html INCLUDING THIS:

"The Inka believe that the doorways between the worlds are opening - holes in time that we can step through and beyond, where we can explore our nascent human capabilities. We can craft new physical bodies that age differently, that heal differently, and that die differently. We can create a world where our children live in peace. We can bring balance and beauty to the Earth."

A RELEVANT EXCERPT FROM PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL (dated July 19, 2004) ON THE FILM What The #$*! Do We Know!?

What The #$*! Do We Know!? recently won top awards at the 2004 DC Independent Film Festival, the Ashland Film Festival, the 37th Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, and the Sedona and Maui Film Festivals More than 20,000 people lined up to see it in its first six weeks in Portland. The movie is now being rolled out, city-by-city, across the U.S. So far, more than 150,000 people have seen it in a handful of major markets and a dozen or so smaller ones.

The feature is part interviews, part story, and part elaborate and inspiring visual effects and animations. "It’s the kind of feature film that’s literally never been seen before," says Arntz. "It’s truly revolutionary, not only in its content, but in its unique form, as well."

In the story, the protagonist, Amanda, played by Matlin, finds herself in "a fantastic Alice in Wonderland experience," according to Arntz. Her daily, uninspired life literally begins to unravel, revealing the uncertain world of… what physicists define as "the quantum field" hidden behind what we consider to be our normal, waking reality.

"She is literally plunged into a swirl of chaotic occurrences," Arntz says, "while the characters she encounters on this odyssey reveal the deeper, hidden knowledge she doesn’t even realize she asked for." Like every hero, Amanda is thrown into crisis, questioning the fundamental premises of her life, ultimately discovering that the reality she has believed in isn’t reality at all! After this "awakening," she is no longer the victim of circumstances, but on her way to being the creative force in her life. Her life will never be the same.

The fourteen top scientists and mystics who are interviewed serve as a modern day Greek Chorus. Their ideas are woven together as a tapestry of scientific truth, pointing to the interconnectedness of all things. Powerful animated sequences explore the inner-workings of the human brain, as well as the smallest form of consciousness in the body – the cell. These dazzling visuals reinforce the film’s message with humor, precision, and irreverence.

What Are the Physicists Learning? What Do Religions Teach?

Since the 1975 publication of The Tao of Physics, Fritjof Capra’s groundbreaking exploration of the emerging concordance of physics and religion, leading edge scientific researchers have been finding ever greater agreement between their findings and the deepest, most fundamental precepts of the world’s great religions.

What are these scientists actually saying about the nature of reality, and our place in it? Here are some of their current representations –

1. The physical world, matter, is basically not solid. The appearance of solidity is an illusion.
2. Time is fluid. It appears to be going forward, AND backward.
3. At the base level of our observable reality, everything and everyone is connected.
4. Our mind directly affects physical reality.
5. The cause of our repetitively boring lives is the biochemical addiction to emotions.

And what have the great religions taught over the millennia that tend to agree with these findings?

1. The world is Maya - Illusion
2. Time does not exist; everything exists at once in the NOW.
3. We are One!
4. We create our Reality. We are Gods at play in the illusion we call real.
5. The root cause of all suffering is attachment to desire.

So, if the physicists are right -- and these religious principles have always pointed to their truths – what does this mean? What implications does it have for humanity, for each one of us? What The #$*! Do We Know!? does not answer these questions. It leaves each person who sees the film with his or her own personal reflection. For many, it shatters long-held beliefs about life, opening vistas of greater possibility. For others, it awakens a healthy introspection, a questioning of one’s point of view – what do I know, and how do I know it?

"The film gives viewers a choice," states Chasse. "We can continue to rely on our old religious dogmas for meaning, understanding and guidance. Or we can examine what leading edge scientists are discovering about the way the universe works -- including the way we work – see where this new knowledge converges with mystical truths, and live our lives based on these precepts, which are now being proved to be universally true."

"As long as we can put some idealism and reverence back on the global agenda, understanding that corporations and institutions have to be a force for positive change, then there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Over the past decade, while many businesses have pursued what I call "business as usual", I have been part of a different, smaller business movement... We want a new paradigm, a whole new framework for making business a force for positive social change. It must not only avoid hideous evil - it must actively do good. I am not interested in business as usual. It is business as unusual that excites me".
