La radioactivité s'étend!...
Bonjour!
On dit qu'une image vaut 1000 mots... SVP prenez 2 secondes pour regarder cette animation informatisée du pattern de dispersion de la radioactivité de Fukushima dans l'atmosphère de l'hémisphère nord mis en ligne par l'Institut norvégien de recherche atmosphérique (Norwegian Institute for Air Research).

et regarder bien ce qui nous arrive dessus au Québec autour du 21 et du 22 avril. Regardez aussi les niveaux extrêmement élevés auxquels le Japon est exposé... Heureusement la neige qui va nous tomber dessus ce mercredi devrait, semble-t-il, être assez "propre"... mais on ne sera pas toujours aussi chanceux - c'est surtout avec la neige et la pluie que la radioactivité tombe de manière plus concentrée. (Pensez à mettre un signet vers ce site sur votre fureteur pour continuer à surveiller l'évolution de la situation au cours des prochains mois) L'Europe est presque totalement épargnée pour le moment...
Selon moi, il ne faut pas trop s'attendre à ce que les autorités canadiennes "compétentes" en la matière nous avertissent des dangers que nous courons tous à long terme avec la présence de doses sans cesse accrues de radioactivité dans l'air, l'eau et les aliments que nous allons consommer au cours de la prochaine année. Ils cherchent plutôt jusqu'ici à minimiser les risques ... Elevated radiation levels detected in Canada : "Health Canada has detected a “minuscule” increase in radiation levels in this country, further evidence that the fallout from the disaster at Japan’s nuclear power plant has reached North America. However, the agency stressed that the amount of radioactivity released into this country’s environment from the crippled Fukushima Daiichi reactors is too small to pose a health risk to Canadians." ... ceci afin d'éviter toute panique dans la population :"France Gélinas, health critic for the New Democrats, asked if government officials were testing the province’s milk supply for radiation levels. Energy Minister Brad Duguid accused Ms. Gélinas of “fearmongering” and did not answer the question." Dans cette nouvelle du 13 avril Trace radioactivity from Japanese reactors detected across Canada, on décrit la situation comme étant totalement sans danger - "The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission characterizes the quantities of Iodine-131 (I-131) as infinitesimal and stresses there are no health hazards to Canadians." mais il n'y a pas que de l'Iodine-131 dont il faut s'inquiéter et cet avis optimiste ne tient pas compte de la bio-accumulation (concentration) des isotopes radio-actifs dans la chaîne alimentaire ... Radiation from Japan reaches B.C. "The radiation found in B.C. was carried by the jet stream, and is now falling over the West Coast with rain, which is mixing with sea water and accumulating in seaweed, SFU said in the news release." Il est à peu près certain que tous les aliments qui ne pousseront pas sous serre (à l'abri de la pluie radioactive) cet été et qui ne seront pas arrosés uniquement avec de l'eau de puits alimentés par la nappe phératique seront plus ou moins contaminés par toute cette radioactivité venant du Japon.
Déjà, l'eau de plusieurs grandes villes américaine est contaminée - voir East Coast city’s tap water has highest radiation in US (April 10th, 2011) - Government Cover Up Of Nuclear Radiation In US Drinking Water - Radiation Found In San Francisco, CA Tap Water — Rainwater Radiation 18,100% Above Drinking Water Limit - Japan Nuclear Radiation Found In Idaho, Washington and Canada Drinking Water et ici l'eau des villes s'approvisionnant dans des lacs (comme à Québec) ou des cours d'eau (comme à Montréal qui prend son eau dans le fleuve) l'est certainement également en ce moment. Cette eau est utilisée notamment par les brasseries de Montréal (comme Labatt «Elle puise l’eau directement du fleuve Saint Laurent, la traite, et l’emploie dans son processus de fabrication») pour fabriquer de la bière et par de nombreuses autres industries alimentaires. Le lait des vaches s'alimentant de fourrage frais à Hawaii et ailleurs aux États-Unis est déjà radioactif. Il en sera de même pour le lait et les fromages (etc) produits au Québec cet été.

New EPA milk samples in Hawaii show radiation in milk at 800% above limits for Cs-134, 633% above limits for Cs-137 and 600% above EPA maximum for I-131 for a total of 2033%, or 20.33 times, above the federal drinking water limits. New readings have also been posted for Phoenix AZ with milk being above the federal limit and Los Angeles with milk being slightly below the limit for Iodine. Montpelier VT milk has tested positive for radioactive CS-137, above about 2/3rds the EPA maximum and Spokane WA milk testing less than half the limit for i-131. A reader of my blog recently posted a YouTube video of my article on food contaminated with Japan nuclear radiation being sold on store shelves in California stores. As reported live last night on the Intel Hub radio show and again today on The Alexander Higgins Show, Japan nuclear radiation including i-131, Caesium 134 and Caesium 137 are now being detected in a wide variety of foods being bought on store shelves in California. In the first food chain tests made public radioactive contamination was found in spinach, strawberries, topsoil, grass, and milk. Of the isotopes detected, radioactive iodine has a half-life of 8 days outside of the human body and 100 days inside of the body. The C-134 ha a half-life of 2.0652 years and the c-137 has a half-life of 30.17. C-135 with a half-life of over 2.3 million years is not reported as detected. The risks associated with iodine-131 contamination in Europe are no longer "negligible," according to CRIIRAD, a French research body on radioactivity. The NGO is advising pregnant women and infants against "risky behaviour," such as consuming fresh milk or vegetables with large leaves. In response to thousands of inquiries from citizens concerned about fallout from the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Europe, CRIIRAD has compiled an information package on the risks of radioactive iodine-131 contamination in Europe. The document (Contamination de la France par les rejets de la centrale de Fukushima Daiichi: QUELS SONT LES RISQUES ?), published on 7 April, advises against consuming rainwater and says vulnerable groups such as children and pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid consuming vegetables with large leaves, fresh milk and creamy cheese. Je ne mentionne pas cela pour faire peur, mais uniquement pour informer. Il sera désormais très difficile d'éviter d'ingérer des isotopes radioactifs de Fukushima - une situation qui risque de se prolonger pendant de très nombreuses générations. Nous avons déjà tous en nous de la radioactivité provenant de Chernobyl et des centaines d'essais nucléaires dans l'armosphère faits dans les années 50 et 60...

... et la radioactivité de Fukushima va maintenant s'y ajouter. Il serait donc souhaitable de s'efforcer de minimiser si possible les sources de nouvelle contamination dans ce que nous mangeons et buvons. Il faut s'attendre à ce que l'épidémie mondiale de cancers de tous genres s'aggrave. Un organisme humain en santé et normalement constitué peut "gérer" une certaine quantité de cellules cancéreuses, le système immunitaire les éliminant naturellement. Passé un certain seuil et selon les susceptibilités génétiques de chaque individu, cela devient plus difficile....

À cause de toute cette radioactivité et de toutes les autres formes de pollution chimique s'accumulant dans l'organisme, on peut anticiper également une augmentation marquée de la stérilité humaine ce qui risque de compromettre la perpétuation de l'espèce humaine - voir La radioactivité est-elle un danger pour l'Homme ? (...) Il m’a fallu un bon bout de temps pour préparer l’article Gentilly, la centrale de tous les soupçons, que vous pouvez lire à ce sujet dans l’édition de L’actualité en kiosque en ce moment. J’ai lu des tonnes de documents et parlé à des dizaines de personnes impliquées dans le dossier… sauf aux spécialistes d’Hydro-Québec, puisque la société d’État m’a refusé toute entrevue! Hydro-Québec n’a de toute évidence pas progressé depuis qu’elle a reçu le Prix de la Noirceur de la FPJQ en 2009. Quand j’ai débuté mes recherches, je n’avais aucun a priori. J’étais prête à écouter les arguments de chacun, en essayer de départager les peurs irrationnelles des craintes fondées, les innombrables opinions à l’emporte-pièce des rares faits avérés et des impératifs techniques. Tout un défi! Mais le constat est clair : pour plusieurs raisons, la remise à neuf de Gentilly est une erreur qui a bien peu de chance de profiter aux Québécois. La perspective d’un démantèlement n’est pas écartée, a déclaré le PDG Thierry Vandal au lendemain de l’accident de Fukushima, sans – évidemment – vouloir élaborer. Une annonce pour calmer le jeu, ou un début de revirement? Tout ce que l’on peut dire, c’est que ce ne serait pas la première volte-face d’Hydro-Québec. Shares plunged across Europe, Asia and the United States on Tuesday as the crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant deepened and Japan’s Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency raised its radiological event scale to its highest level. Conditions at the stricken facility have steadily deteriorated despite the valiant efforts of emergency workers. The station continues to spew lethal amounts of radiation and other toxins into the atmosphere and around the world. A French nuclear group has warned that children and pregnant mothers should protect themselves from the fallout. According to Euractiv: "The risks associated with iodine-131 contamination in Europe are no longer ‘negligible,’ according to CRIIRAD, a French research body on radioactivity. The NGO is advising pregnant women and infants against ‘risky behavior,’ such as consuming fresh milk or vegetables with large leaves." The group's warning underlines the dangers posed by the out-of-control facility which is causing unprecedented damage to earth, sea and sky. But while the disaster continues to grow larger by the day, the government's only response has been to expand the evacuation zone and try to shape news to minimize the public backlash. Emergency crews have braved high levels of radiation to bring the plant back under control, but with little success. A number of violent tremors and a second smaller tsunami have made their jobs nearly impossible. Thousands of gallons of radioactive water that was used as coolant has been flushed into the sea threatening marine life and sensitive habitat. The toxic release of radiation now poses an incalculable risk to the battered fishing industry and to fish-stocks around the world. EU Secretly Authorizes Emergency Order Allowing Large Increase Of Radiation In Food (April 3, 2011) MIND-BOGGLING STUPIDITY AND DUPLICITY! IT IS PROBABLY THE SAME EVERYWHERE...

Kopp Online, Xander News and other non-English news agencies are reporting that the EU implemented a secret “emergency” order without informing the public which increases the amount of radiation in food by up to 20 times previous food standards. According to EU bylaws radiation limits may be raised during a nuclear emergency to prevent food shortages. But there is anger across Europe because this emergency order was issued while officials say there is no threat to the food. Foodwatch is quoted “These rules now to bring into force is absurd, because in Europe there are no nuclear emergency, and certainly no shortage of food.” The European Union has authorized radioactive load in foods in Japan has increased substantially. Until now, a maximum of 600 becquerels of radioactivity (cesium 134 and cesium 137) per kilogram allowed, but since last weekend for example oil or herbal suddenly 12,500 becquerels per kilogram, more than 20 times as high. The increase was recorded in Emergency Ordinance 297/2011 on March 27 and was in force.While politicians talk about “enhanced control measures” and “special protection standards” is universally silent on the huge increase in the allowable limits in food in Japan. Nevertheless we are reassured with the assurance that we have no worry about radioactive products from Japan.Explain why a 20 times as high value would make no difference for the consumer safety did not come. This is from the Wall Street Journal: “Fukushima Daiichi operator Tokyo Electric Power Co. warned Tuesday that since the Fukushima Daiichi plant is still releasing radioactive materials, the total level of radiation released could eventually exceed that of Chernobyl, a spokesman said. “The new assessment comes as Japan admits that the effects of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident—which has already caused the evacuation of tens of thousands of people and spread radiation through groundwater and farms over a broad section of eastern Japan—are likely to be long-lasting and grave.....“Japanese nuclear regulators determined that after the accident, the plant has likely released tens of thousands of terabecquerels—or a mind-boggling tens of thousands of trillions of becquerels—of radiation in the immediate area. That's a level that's been recorded only during the Chernobyl accident." ("Japanese Declare Crisis at Level of Chernobyl", Wall Street Journal) Experts anticipate that the troubles at Fukushima will persist for months if not years. In the meantime, life-threatening levels of toxic radioactive material will be released into the air, water and soil. Small children and the unborn are at greatest risk, but incidents of adult thyroid cancer, immune system disorders and other maladies will increase exponentially as well. The future of the nuclear industry has never been more uncertain, and for good reason.
