The bill has received little media attention and has almost unanimous support in the House. However, civil liberties groups see the bill as a threat to the constitutionally protected freedoms of expression, privacy and protest." (...) "The commission would have very broad powers. It could investigate anyone. It would create a public perception that whoever is being investigated by the Commission must be involved in subversive or illegal activities. It would give the appearance that whoever they are investigating is potentially a traitor or disloyal or a terrorist, even if all they were doing was advocating lawful views," Wilkens said. (...) Congressman and presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) was one of three Democrats who voted against the bill, but he has given no public explanation for his opposition and his office did not respond to a call for comment as of this writing. Google joins a long list of other prominent companies striving to become more environmentally friendly amid mounting concern that pollution from coal, oil and other so-called “dirty” power generation is causing potentially catastrophic climate change.Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world’s largest retailer, made a major commitment to renewable energy two years ago. And technology leaders like Cisco Systems Inc., Microsoft Corp., IBM Corp. and Intel Corp. are trying to become more energy efficient.Google’s initiative will likely stand out because of its financial muscle and its renowned brand, said Nicholas Parker, chairman of the Cleantech Network, a group that tracks investments in alternative energy. Imagine a solar panel without the panel. Just a coating, thin as a layer of paint, that takes light and converts it to electricity. From there, you can picture roof shingles with solar cells built inside and window coatings that seem to suck power from the air. Consider solar-powered buildings stretching not just across sunny Southern California, but through China and India and Kenya as well, because even in those countries, going solar will be cheaper than burning coal. That’s the promise of thin-film solar cells: solar power that’s ubiquitous because it’s cheap. The basic technology has been around for decades, but this year, Silicon Valley–based Nanosolar created the manufacturing technology that could make that promise a reality. The company produces its PowerSheet solar cells with printing-press-style machines that set down a layer of solar-absorbing nano-ink onto metal sheets as thin as aluminum foil, so the panels can be made for about a tenth of what current panels cost and at a rate of several hundred feet per minute. With backing from Google’s founders and $20 million from the U.S. Department of Energy, Nanosolar’s first commercial cells rolled off the presses this year. (...) In San Jose, Nanosolar has built what will soon be the world’s largest solar-panel manufacturing facility. CEO Martin Roscheisen claims that once full production starts early next year, it will create 430 megawatts’ worth of solar cells a year—more than the combined total of every other solar plant in the U.S. The first 100,000 cells will be shipped to Europe, where a consortium will be building a 1.4-megawatt power plant next year. Right now, the biggest question for Nanosolar is not if its products can work, but rather if it can make enough of them. California, for instance, recently launched the Million Solar Roofs initiative, which will provide tax breaks and rebates to encourage the installation of 100,000 solar roofs per year, every year, for 10 consecutive years (the state currently has 30,000 solar roofs). The company is ready for the solar boom. “Most important,” Harrop says, “Nanosolar is putting down factories instead of blathering to the press and doing endless experiments. These guys are getting on with it, and that is impressive.”

Schumake's solar panel, just installed on her roof and partly financed with low-cost loans from the city, is supplying free power and more. The panel was put in by a team of local workers trained by area nonprofit groups that prepare unemployed Richmondites for jobs in the burgeoning green building field. "I'm happy because I'm saving money," says Schumake. "But I'm also saving the planet, and that's the major one." Van Jones, the dynamo promoting the project, breaks into a wide smile of his own. "Power by the people, for the people," says Jones. "This is the vision of the future right here." A few years ago, the Oakland-based human-rights activist came to a realization. If the U.S. accelerated the transition to a cleaner economy, millions of jobs in green construction and alternative energy could be created. Those jobs--call them green collar--were exactly what unemployed residents of cities like Oakland needed. (...) A study by the Cleantech Network, which tracks green investment, found that for every $100 million in green venture capital, 250,000 new jobs could be created. To speed that transition, Jones and Majora Carter of the Sustainable South Bronx in New York City recently launched Green for All, a campaign to secure $1 billion in government funding to train a quarter-million workers in green fields. It's a two-hour ferry ride to the Danish island of Samso. To visit Samso is to see the future. Samso is an area about 40 square miles long with a permanent population of about 4,000 - all of them living a green dream. Take farmer Erik Andersen. His tractor runs on oil from rape seed, which he grows. His hot water and power come from his solar panels or wind turbines. There's not a fossil fuel in sight. "It's a very good feeling because the island is a renewable energy island," Anderson says. Ten years ago, Andersen and the people of Samso accepted a challenge from Denmark's government: Could they run their farms; could they power their businesses; could they lead their lives in an entirely energy self-sufficient and carbon-neutral way? Now they have the answer. They can. "Because it's a good idea for the environment," Andersen explains. To harness the wind, of which they have plenty, they built wind turbines. To provide heat, they burn locally grown straw in central plants that produce super hot water and pump it through underground pipes into peoples' homes. It's not only more efficient than running individual furnaces, it's carbon neutral. The net greenhouse gas emissions from these plants? Zero. It's a system that just recycles itself, says Jens Peter Nielson with the Samso Energy Authority. Even after a freezing cold night, the days short and cloudy, the solar-heated hot water is still hot. The Samso scheme has become so successful that the island has installed a string of turbines offshore to make surplus power to sell to the mainland.

His bouncy mood was inspired by the money gushing into private security and defense companies. He added, “I also see this as a more attractive sector, as many do, than clean energy.”Got that? If you are looking for a sure bet in a new growth market, sell solar, buy surveillance; forget wind, buy weapons. This observation–coming from an executive trusted by such clients as Goldman Sachs and Marsh & McLennan–deserves particular attention in the run-up to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Bali at the beginning of December. There, world environment ministers are supposed to come up with the global pact that will replace Kyoto. The Bush Administration, still roadblocking firm caps on emissions, wants to let the market solve the crisis. “We’re on the threshold of dramatic technological breakthroughs,” Bush assured the world last January, adding, “We’ll leave it to the market to decide the mix of fuels that most effectively and efficiently meet this goal.” (...) Bush wants to leave our climate crisis to the ingenuity of the market. Well, the market has spoken: it will not take us off this disastrous course. LONDON - Weather-related disasters have quadrupled over the last two decades, a leading British charity said in a report published on Sunday. From an average of 120 disasters a year in the early 1980s, there are now as many as 500, with Oxfam attributing the rise to unpredictable weather conditions cause by global warming. "This year we have seen floods in South Asia, across the breadth of Africa and Mexico that have affected more than 250 million people," said Oxfam's director Barbara Stocking. "This is no freak year. It follows a pattern of more frequent, more erratic, more unpredictable and more extreme weather events that are affecting more people. The number of people affected by disasters has risen by 68 percent, from an average of 174 million a year between 1985 to 1994 to 254 million a year between 1995 to 2004. Action is needed now to prepare for more disasters otherwise humanitarian assistance will be overwhelmed and recent advances in human development will go into reverse," Stocking said. Oxfam wants the UN conference on Climate Change in Bali in December to agree a mandate to negotiate a global deal to provide assistance to developing countries to cope with the impacts of climate change and reduce green house gas emissions.

OSLO - Levels of carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas emitted by burning fossil fuels, hit a record high in the atmosphere in 2006, accelerating global warming, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) said on Friday.But concentrations of methane, the number two heat-trapping gas, flattened out in a hint that Siberian permafrost is staying frozen despite some scientists' fears that rising temperatures might trigger a runaway thaw. "In 2006, globally averaged concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere reached their highest levels ever recorded," the WMO said. Carbon dioxide is the main gas from human activities blamed by the UN climate panel for stoking warming.The WMO said levels rose 0.53 percent from 2005 to 381.2 parts per million of the atmosphere, 36 percent above levels before the Industrial Revolution began in the 18th century. Levels of nitrous oxide, the number three greenhouse gas produced by burning fuels and by industrial processes, also rose to a record with a 0.25 percent gain in 2006. Levels are 320 parts per billion, 19 percent above pre-industrial times. "Atmospheric growth rates in 2006 of these gases are consistent with recent years," the WMO said in a report. The plan includes new products and services to enable IBM clients to sharply reduce data center energy consumption and make them more “green”. The problem is sizable. Big companies spend tons of money on power. In IBM's case it is a half billion dollars per year. The priority has been on getting the servers and storage that are needed to achieve various business results -- need another feature for the web site, throw in another server. Today, a company called Skyonic announced a novel new system, Skymine, which uses the carbon dioxide emitted from smokestacks to make baking soda. According to Skyonic CEO Joe David Jones, the system will be powered by waste heat from factories, and will produce food-grade baking soda.

Stefano Ambrogi of Reuters reports: "The US military has stepped up chartering of tankers and requests for extra fuel in the US Central Command area, which includes the Gulf, shipping and oil industry sources say." (...) According to U.S. figures, oil flowing through the Strait, at the entrance to the Gulf along Iran's coastline, accounts for roughly 40 percent of all globally traded oil supplies. Only last week the navy conducted an exercise to counter potential mine-laying by an unnamed foe in Gulf waters. At the same time the Enterprise aircraft carrier strike group concluded a three-day exercise in anti-submarine warfare skills. The source in the Gulf, with 50 years of experience in the oil industry, said the charters were indicative of extra U.S. military requirements for fuels. "Bahrain, for example, has confirmed that there are additional volumes being requested by the U.S. Defense Energy Support Center, including JP5," the Gulf source said, speaking on condition of anonymity. One of the largest commercial tanker hires is on a time-charter basis, the length of time a ship is sought, stipulating a period of 90 days to carry a range of fuels between locations in the Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. The time charter, which begins in early December and allows for multiple journeys in Gulf waters, is to carry a minimum of 310,000 barrels of jet and marine fuel, some of it JP5. "What's most interesting is the time-charter in the Gulf. It's a big ship and here we have a commitment for a lot of movement of fuels, backwards and forwards down to the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman," the Gulf source said. "This confirms there is going to be a lot of activity, possibly a serious demonstration to Iran that the military means to protect the Hormuz Strait," he said. CLIP

The whole HIV story is a monumental hoax and part of the New World Order diabolical agenda to rid the Earth of people its perpetrators consider undesirable, while at the same time ensuring massive, indeed obscene profits for the pharmaceutical industry. My comments herein refer to the 'swiftboating' that you and Stephen Calkins did to Christopher Story in the 'Rising Phoenix Series' # 42 part 2 (20 Nov 2007). My dear Jean did you really expect to find "confirming evidence on any news media" about the ongoing Ambassador Lee Wanta scandal? My goodness Jean why in the "wide world of sports" would you really expect to find corroborating evidence of what Mr. Story has had to take on since June 2006? And have you and Stephen actually read the mountainous documentation he had put forth in the last 18 months? "Biasness" is the monster that still injects confusion even to the supposedly more aware.
Apparently you do not see the higher orchestrated genius behind the whole' Story/Wanta' affair. Now here is the editor of a very staid and quite boring financial newsletter, mind you called the International Currency Review, published by Christopher Story. He has run this prestigious journal of 44 years and over the last 18 months covered an extremely important topic that virtually no other news media mainstream or alternative would do. And that is revealing not only what happened to Lee Wanta and his assignment from President Reagan - to take down the ruble with borrowed treasury money while at the same time generating huge revenues - but equally important, in my opinion, Mr. Story educates his large readership about the various players of the New World Order and 9/11 crowd.
The foundational work is completed thanks to his perseverance and clears the way for the aspects of the Farm Claims and NESARA to be introduced because the amount of attention he brought to the public's eye. Removal of this administration will now be a more acceptable affair. Opps! Am I walking the plank of 'political correctness' touching upon these 2 topics? Maybe that was NOT me in Federal Court with the farmers some 12 plus years ago. I'm being facetious but that's a point that needs a 'driver.'
So in the shell of a nut, at best calling the Wanta story a "high class farce" reflects intolerance of 'different' information that the listener cannot hang his/her hat on for lack of 'other' confirming sources. And at worse, arrogant puffery.
Many of the topics covered in your wonderful 100 page newsletter cannot be implemented such as alternative energy, holistic healing modalities, precious metal banking, etc until this government is removed-PERIOD! Now thanks to the expose of 'Wantagate' we will see our hopes and dreams fulfilled. Carry on.

Hi Jean,
I noticed that some of the feedback in your recent compilation addressed the issue of creating our own reality.
I am a regular poster on Dr Michael Salla's online forum 'prepare4contact,' where we recently had a heated discussion re this issue, and where i expressed my views that we Earth humans have a rather limited ability to create our own reality.
Internally, i believe it is absolutely possible to create a state of being in which one is uninterruptedly connected to Source, the Center within, the Creator. But externally i think it is a different matter.
Allen Ginsberg and his circle all supported the creating your own reality view. His friend William S Burroughs warned that the collective can override the personal. Or, as Pericles put it, 'You may not take an interest in politics, but politics may take an interest in you' (thanks to Tom Feely of the informationclearinghouse site for the quote).
I have come to the conclusion that many adherents to the personal reality-creation theory may be coming from a place of fear. All indications are that we humans are in for a very rough ride before the Light prevails. There are MANY humans on our planet who are already living in hell on Earth.
I have noticed that most of the 'Lightworkers' who adhere to the reality-creation view are white, well-fed, and well-housed, living in countries not being torn apart by wars or fascist governments (yet). And i think the belief in creating one's own reality often comes from fear that yes, it CAN happen here.(In our human bodies we really are such frail and defenseless beings--the fear is understandable. As the participants in the Ghost Dance learned, spiritual intention/strength does not stop bullets.)
Here for me is the USA. A country which has created great misery for many humans all over the world for many, many decades. And a country where far too few of its citizens speak out against what is being done in our name. Karma...what goes around, comes around.
In October--the 28th i think-- i took part in the nationwide Peace rally in Denver. That evening a friend and i went to a New Age Lightworker music concert. Reflecting later on my day, the contrast between these two gatherings of people struck me. The Peace rally folk were of all ages, colors, shapes, and sizes, and many interesting faces with much character. The Lightworker folk were all white, and obviously well-off. I also got the impression that the Lightworkers were sort of overfed spiritually--a softness to character. It reminded me of the rabbits in 'Watership Down,' the ones who lived in safe warm warrens where food appeared every day, and all the rabbits pretended not to know that every now and then one of them would disappear into the farmer's cooking pot.
I recently came across this snippet from one of Edgar Cayce's readings: 'For that which is, is the result of the thinking of individuals AS RELATED ONE TO ANOTHER' [caps mine]. i interpret this as meaning that that which manifests in this material world comes about through individual contributions, all together making up the whole of what we manifest.
As a longtime 'ethical vegan' and staunch supporter of non-human animals having the right to live out their lives far from labs, factory farms, steel traps, genetic/breeding interference, zoos, circuses, etc., i may have a rather jaundiced view of the reality most humans are creating. This--the treatment of non-human animals--is a touchstone for me re how many humans are truly awakening spiritually. From this point of view, the future of humanity as a whole does not look good. Karma, again.
However, the power of the Light is stronger than that of the darkside. And i continue to work to hold the dream/vision of an Earth cherished and respected, and of the world of humans at peace w/each other and all beings here. And to do what i can in the 'act locally' sense. I know that there are many others all over the world who are doing the same. And of course i would like this to happen NOW! And maybe there are enough of us working for this that it will happen.
But in between then and now, the picture looks rather grim, externally. Those of us who hold in our hearts the desire/intention/prayer for a world at peace may not find that until the Shift happens, and it may be--i hope not--that we will all die physical deaths as part of the Ascension process, and re-create the world we dream of when our intentions draw us together in another dimension. I'd prefer it if those who choose to follow the darkside, or whose self-centeredness has made them silent partners in all the cruelty and injustices happening in the world RIGHT NOW--i'd prefer if we could stay here and work to heal our Earth, and those who choose otherwise go to their own dimension.

Here is a very salutary response from my good friend Antares in Malaysia to the James Lovelock piece in a very recent Earth Rainbow Newsletter. . .
James Lovelock was the fellow who popularized the idea of the earth as a living organism in his Gaia Hypothesis of the 1960s, right? That was his job. He woke us to the scientific truth of the planet as a cosmobiological entity in her own right.
Forty years down the line methinks Lovelock has become blinded by the bad news around us, and this has turned him into a Cassandra prophesying doom. Perfectly understandable. Lovelock is primarily a biologist turned ecologist. I doubt he has ever had a chat with any active member of the Galactic Council. And it's unlikely that he has paid much attention to the research undertaken by Mayan scholars like Carl Johan Calleman or Ian Xel Lungold. He probably dismissed José Argüelles and his call to Harmonic Convergence as crank stuff. So there you are...
When you narrow your focus as most scientists are trained to do, you see everything through a tiny peephole. You're alarmed by the scary psychokiller whose footsteps are approaching the sleeping child's bedroom... but if your vision were a wee bit broader, you might register the fact that the scary scene you see is just a rerun playing on the plasma TV in some suburban living room... and that nothing much is happening except somebody watching the programme from the couch is nervously munching on some cheese-flavoured snacks, so caught up is she with the drama...
The fact that Lovelock tosses around dates like 2020, 2040 and 2100 indicates that he has paid scant attention to "newfangled" interpretations of the Mayan calendar that mostly pinpoint the end of LINEAR TIME at 28 October 2011 - or 21 December 2012 (these are the two equivalent Gregorian dates that Mayan scholars just can't agree on, but to me it makes little difference whether linear time stops in 2011 or 2012!). I happen to subscribe to the concept of Galactic Alignment - which is hypothetically what happens at the end of linear time. That's about four, at the most five, years away from this moment.
If one pays close attention to these evolutionary markers it's more than likely that one will spontaneously flow into synchronization with the Galactic Heartbeat - and that, more than any intellectual notions or theories, will open up our reality options in a totally dramatic fashion. Imagine playing only one octave of a piano for several decades... and then suddenly you open your eyes and discover there are at least 10 other octaves within easy reach of your fingers!
That's my sincere response to James Lovelock's bleak vision. Remember, in a free will universe we are each responsible for scripting our own destiny. I'm absolutely convinced nobody has to endure such a miserable future - unless they leave their vision questing to some professional scientist, politician, or priest!

An apocalyptic vision of how the world will look after the oil runs out has been given by a top scientist.
Richard Heinberg, one of the world's leading experts on oil reserves, warned that the lives of billions of people were threatened by a food crisis caused by our dependence on dwindling supplies of fossil fuels.
Higher oil prices, the loss of farmland to biofuel crops, climate change and the loss of natural resources would combine with population growth to create an unprecedented food shortage, he claimed.
The only way to avoid a world food crisis was a planned and rapid reduction of fossil fuel use - oil, coal and gas - and a switch to more organic methods in the growing and delivery of food. It would mean a return to living off the land not seen for 150 years.
The stark predictions were made by Heinberg in a lecture to the Soil Association in London.
Heinberg, an author and former advisor to the National Petroleum Council, specialises in 'Peak Oil' - the point where oil production reaches its maximum and begins to decline - and the implications it has for climate change and food security.
He said for thousands of years, until the 19th century and the onset of the Industrial Revolution, all food production had been local. In good years there was enough to eat and to store and in bad years there was starvation.
The invention of the petrol engine increased the amount of arable land available to grow food, the size and efficiency of farm machinery improved, and better pesticides were developed - all of which contributed to a better food supply.
As food became more plentiful and cheap, the threat of famine disappeared and obesity became more widespread than hunger. Food, grain, meat and vegetables began to be exported around the world and the world population increased six-fold.
By the 1960s industrial-chemical practices had been exported to the third world and in the next half century food production tripled - but at an unrecognised cost of water and soil pollution and enormous environmental damage.
Heinberg said that, unfortunately, it was all unsustainable and the abundance of food depended on depleting, non-renewable fossil fuels whose burning produced climate-altering carbon dioxide.
The depletion of oil stocks, the demand for biofuels as an alternative, environmental degradation and extreme weather caused by climate change, were coming together to pose massive problems for world food production.
The situation would be made worse by a shortage of fresh drinking water. According to UN estimates, one third of the world's population lived in areas with water shortages and 1.1 billion people lack access to safe drinking water. The situation was expected to worsen dramatically over the next few decades.
While the human population had tripled in the 20th century, the use of renewable water resources had grown six-fold.
The UN Environment Program had concluded that the planet's water, land, air, plants, animals and fish stocks were all in "inexorable decline" much of it due to agriculture, which constituted the greatest single source of human impact on the biosphere.
Heinberg said that to get to the heart of the crisis a comprehensive transformation of world agriculture was needed - greater than anything seen in many decades - which would produce a system that was not reliant on fossil fuels.
He cited Cuba as an example of what could be achieved. In the 1980s it had become reliant on cheap fuel supplied by Russia and was using more agrochemicals per acre than even the US. But after the fall of communism, supplies dried up. The average Cuban lost 20lbs in weight, living standards collapsed and malnutrition became widespread.
Cuban authorities responded by redesigning the food supply system. Large state-owned farms were broken up and given to families and they were encouraged to form co-operatives, biological methods were used for pest control, oxen replaced tractors, urban vegetable gardens flourished and people began to keep chickens and rabbits for food. Twenty years later food production was 90 per cent of its former levels.
Heinberg said what was needed was a return to ecological organic farming methods which would require the transformation of societies.
And with oil supplies rapidly running out the full resources of national governments would be needed to achieve it.
The amount of food transportation would have to be reduced, food would need to be grown in and around cities, and producers and consumers would need to live closer together.
The use of pesticides would have to be reduced in packaging and processing, draft animals would be reintroduced and governments would have to provide incentives for people to return to an agricultural life. Land reform would be needed to enable smallholders and farming co-ops to work their own plots and population growth would have to be curbed.
"All of this constitutes a gargantuan task, but the alternatives - doing nothing or attempting to solve our food-production problems simply by applying mere techno-fixes - will almost certainly lead to dire consequences," he said.
"All of the worrisome trends mentioned earlier would intensify to the point that the human carrying capacity of Earth would be degraded significantly, and perhaps to a large degree permanently."
Heinberg added: "The transition to a fossil-fuel-free food system does not constitute a distant utopian proposal. It is an unavoidable, immediate, and immense challenge that will call for unprecedented levels of creativity at all levels of society.
"A hundred years from now, everyone will be eating what we today would define as organic food, whether or not we act.
"But what we do now will determine how many will be eating, what state of health will be enjoyed by those future generations, and whether they will live in a ruined cinder of a world, or one that is in the process of being renewed and replenished."

Driver Tased For Asking Officer Why He Was Stopped

Man who refused to sign speeding ticket because he did not understand what it was is tased and arrested by officer who then refused to read him his rights
A man was tased and arrested on a Utah highway after being stopped by an officer and refusing to sign a speeding ticket because he did not understand what offence he had committed or why he had been pulled over.
The encounter, captured on the police car camera on September 14th and released this week, is the latest in a long string of incidents involving the unacceptable use of Tasers by officers on citizens whom the evidence reveals are in no way threatening, acting unlawfully or resisting co-operation.
The video shows the Utah Highway Patrolman pull over Jared Massey and his pregnant wife who also had their baby with them in the car and ask for Mr Massey's license.
Mr Massey tells the officer he does not understand why he has been stopped or what he is being charged with, at which point the officer orders Massey to get out of the car. The officer then puts down his clipboard and immediately takes out his Taser and points it at Mr Massey without any provocation whatsoever, yelling "Turn around and put your hands behind your back" as Massey attempts to point out the speed limit sign and engage the officer in conversation.
A shocked Massey asks "what the hell is wrong with you?" and backs away, turning around as the officer had demanded, at which point the officer unleashes 50,000 volts from the Taser into Massey's body, sending him screaming to the ground instantly and causing his wife to jump out of the car and yell hysterically for help.
Lying face down on the ground a shell shocked, Mr Massey says "officer I don't know what you are doing, I don't know why you are doing what you are doing" to which the officer replies "I am placing you under arrest because you did not obey my instruction."
Mr Massey then once again asks the officer several times why he was stopped and what he is being charged with. He then asks for his rights to be read and points out that the officer cannot arrest him without doing this. Instead of reading Massey his rights the officer then addresses another patrolman who arrives on the scene sardonically commenting "Ohhh he took a ride with the Taser" to which the other officer answers "painful isn't it".
The icing on the cake comes at the end of the video when the officer LIES to his own colleague about the encounter, clearly stating that he verbally warned Massey he was going to tase him, as is the law, when there was no warning whatsoever.
Mr Massey is planning to file a lawsuit against the Utah Highway Patrol. He says he was already slowing down as he approached the 40 mile per hour sign in the construction zone outside of vernal. All charges except for the speeding ticket have been dropped.

Tasers are supposed to be the last response before lethal action, however, police now use them as if they are batons or pepper spray.
In the last year over 300 people have died in admitted cases in the US alone from being tased. In the last week alone we have posted three separate stories of Taser deaths. Every week we post stories of incidents, which often feature old women, children and disabled people as the victims. The weapons are even being used in schools.
The police are now trained that "pain compliance," a euphemism for torture, is acceptable in apprehending anyone even if that person poses no physical danger. If you electrify any person, they suffer extreme pain and stand a high chance of being killed.
Despite this, idiotic media hacks such as Fox News host Brian Kilmead are happy to promote police state tactics, selling the idea that protestors or people that merely question authority in any way are threatening and should be tased or "beaten to a pulp".
This phenomenon is out of control, how many more acts of wanton police brutality, torture and death by means of tasering are we to endure?
Taser use is being abused by police all over the country and beyond as cops are trained that torture is a perfectly acceptable response to somebody who acts out of the ordinary, asks the wrong question or refuses to show their papers.

But it is deep underground, buried into the ancient rock, that the region's greatest wonders are concealed.

Here, 100ft down and hidden from public view, lies an astonishing secret - one that has drawn comparisons with the fabled city of Atlantis and has been dubbed 'the Eighth Wonder of the World' by the Italian government.
For weaving their way underneath the hillside are nine ornate temples, on five levels, whose scale and opulence take the breath away.
Constructed like a three-dimensional book, narrating the history of humanity, they are linked by hundreds of metres of richly decorated tunnels and occupy almost 300,000 cubic feet - Big Ben is 15,000 cubic feet.

Few have been granted permission to see these marvels.
Indeed, the Italian government was not even aware of their existence until a few years ago.
But the 'Temples of Damanhur' are not the great legacy of some long-lost civilisation, they are the work of a 57-year-old former insurance broker from northern Italy who, inspired by a childhood vision, began digging into the rock.
It all began in the early Sixties when Oberto Airaudi was aged ten. From an early age, he claims to have experienced visions of what he believed to be a past life, in which there were amazing temples.
Around these he dreamed there lived a highly evolved community who enjoyed an idyllic existence in which all the people worked for the common good.
More bizarrely still, Oberto appeared to have had a supernatural ability: the gift of "remote viewing" - the ability to travel in his mind's eye to describe in detail the contents of any building.
"My goal was to recreate the temples from my visions," he says.
Oberto - who prefers to use the name 'Falco' - began by digging a trial hole under his parent's home to more fully understand the principals of excavation.

But it was only as he began a successful career as an insurance broker that he began to search for his perfect site.
In 1977, he selected a remote hillside where he felt the hard rock would sustain the structures he had in mind.
A house was built on the hillside and Falco moved in with several friends who shared his vision. Using hammers and picks, they began their dig to create the temples of Damanhur - named after the ancient subterranean Egyptian temple meaning City of Light - in August 1978.
As no planning permission had been granted, they decided to share their scheme only with like-minded people.
Volunteers, who flocked from around the world, worked in four-hour shifts for the next 16 years with no formal plans other than Falco's sketches and visions, funding their scheme by setting up small businesses to serve the local community.
By 1991, several of the nine chambers were almost complete with stunning murals, mosaics, statues, secret doors and stained glass windows. But time was running out on the secret.

The first time the police came it was over alleged tax evasion and still the temples lay undiscovered. But a year later the police swooped on the community demanding: "Show us these temples or we will dynamite the entire hillside."
Falco and his colleagues duly complied and opened the secret door to reveal what lay beneath.
Three policemen and the public prosecutor hesitantly entered, but as they stooped down to enter the first temple - named the Hall of the Earth - their jaws dropped.

The astonished group walked on to find sculpted columns covered with gold leaf, more than 8m high.
Stunned by what they had found, the authorities decided to seize the temples on behalf of the government.
"By the time they had seen all of the chambers, we were told to continue with the artwork, but to cease further building, as we had not been granted planning permission," says Esperide Ananas, who has written a new book called Damanhur, Temples Of Humankind.
Retrospective permission was eventually granted and today the 'Damanhurians' even have their own university, schools, organic supermarkets, vineyards, farms, bakeries and award-winning eco homes.
They do not worship a spiritual leader, though their temples have become the focus for group meditation.
'They are to remind people that we are all capable of much more than we realise and that hidden treasures can be found within every one of us once you know how to access them,' says Falco.

The following is a detailed summary of our tentative, current understanding of the core issues related to the presence of the visitors, and the possible earth changes that may be ahead of us.
By its very nature it is subject to change and revision at any time, as the Big Picture comes into focus and becomes clearer. It is also intended to provoke thought and to invite readers to do their own research and analysis. It would be extraordinary if every detail below were correct.
Much of this information is also elsewhere on this site (in interview form or on the Henry Deacon pages) and elsewhere, but the summary below may be a useful synopsis for the purposes of discussion.

The Roswell Catastrophe
The visitors who crashed at Roswell were future humans1. They were not from another planet2, but from a future Earth – stepping (which may be a better word than traveling) back in time to 1947 to attempt to deal with serious problems which had occurred in their history3. Their mission was to try to change their past by creating an alternative branch of their own timeline, so that particular events – about to happen to us in our very near future – would not actually occur.
The Roswell visitors were on a purely altruistic mission. They did not have to do this, but chose to... out of compassion. But the mission went disastrously wrong – not just because they crashed (an accident caused by high-powered radar – later the military realized this and made use of radar as a weapon), but because they had a device with them which was their only means, as an orientation device in time and space, to get them home and back to their own time.
The device was a little box, highly advanced and multifunctional in nature, and was far smaller than the "Looking Glass" that Dan Burisch4 and Bill Hamilton5 describe as being subsequently utilized by military scientists in various experiments. When the box was acquired and investigated by the military, this became a catastrophe in itself. It made the timeline problem many times worse, because this both introduced time manipulation technology to us at the wrong time... and also told the military what lay ahead.
It can not be stressed too strongly how totally calamitous for us all the Roswell incident was. It was a major, major setback, right at the start of the future humans' project to help fix the problem. Acquiring a device such as that which the Roswell visitors carried would immediately alter the timeline which the future humans were trying to change in the first place... so there would then be two timelines that need fixing, and not just one.
NOAA, the Dark Star, and Global Warming
A small organization within NOAA (the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) is aware of what scientists there sometimes call the “second sun”. This is a massive astronomical object, possibly a brown dwarf6, which is on a long elliptical orbit around our own sun on an inclined plane to the rest of the planets. To align with other researchers7, we'll refer to this as the Dark Star.
The Dark Star is now approaching, and is causing resonance effects on our sun in various ways8. This is the cause of the warming of all the planets, not just the Earth9. This information is classified, but has been known for a number of years10.
This issue is connected with the Roswell catastrophe described above. The problems the future humans were attempting to address were multiple, but principally featured a possible event triggered by a massive 'spike' of solar activity at some point in our currently near future.
We emphasize most strongly that this event is only possible (having been observed in Looking Glass devices in a possible future)... and, importantly, is now evaluated to be unlikely11.
The increase in solar activity is caused only in part by the Dark Star, multiple factors being at play. These are complex. Some of them are on a galactic scale12, and are associated with natural, periodic events which the Earth has suffered through a number of times previously. What makes this particular time completely unique for our planet is that there is a convergence of serious factors – such as carbon emissions13, overpopulation, and our propensity for choreographing war14 – all of which combine with these major, cyclic and solar events to simultaneously threaten the well-being of ourselves and the biosphere.
The large-scale events are unstoppable. It's also unclear when the 'spike' of solar activity is due to be - though our understanding is that this is imminent, and could occur at any time in the next ten years or so. Although the issue has been considerably hyped, it's impossible not to observe that the year 201215 is right in the middle of this bell-curve of probability.
What is possible, however, is to minimize the effects of the solar event. Evaluated Looking Glass data concludes that there is a 19% probability of the worse case scenario occurring, with 85% confidence that that 19% figure is correct16. It seems we're off the hook... although no matter what timeline one is on, significant problems lie ahead with the man-made crises that surround us (exacerbated by solar activity).
Insurance: Underground Bases, Project Preserve Destiny, and the Martian Colony.
Readers may by now have made the connection with the trillions of dollars17 spent in recent decades by various military agencies on underground bases in a number of different countries18. Given the possibility of an imminent near-ELE (extinction level event)19, a cynic would argue that it's a smart use of our tax dollars to ensure that at least some humans survive20.
Other readers will connect this potential scenario with the story told by Dan Sherman21, in straightforward, unassuming and sober fashion, in which he was trained as an IC (Intuitive Communicator) as a preparation for an unknown future event that would include all electronic communications being rendered unusable22. The project he was part of was called Project Preserve Destiny... the title of which gives us a very heavy clue to what this was all about23.
Researchers who have looked into the claims of the infamous TV program Alternative 3 24 conclude in the main that the show was a hoax. There is clear evidence that the show was a dramatic portrayal of arguably fictional events. However, it would appear that it may have been accidental disinformation rather than a hoax per se. Certain events portrayed in the program25 are markedly similar to the scenario presented here.
Among those is the existence of a substantial Mars base, established in the early 1960s and supplied by a combination of stargates26 and an advanced, classified space program codenamed SOLAR WARDEN27. The Mars base apparently has a number of functions28 but among those would certainly be the ensured survival of the human species should anything untoward happen on or to our home planet.
What Can Be Done?
As has been written above, the major, cyclic large-scale events that are set to occur are unstoppable by us or any other race, no matter how advanced their technology. But what can be mitigated are certain effects. Much remains under our control, although as every day passes the clock is ticking: carbon emissions are not helping13; choreographed and orchestrated war14 adds to the chaos; and new diseases and possible pandemics29 may be controllable if we act in earnest.
This is no different a warning than has been stated by many other messengers in recent years, but we place this in a context where the stakes are rather higher than usually recognized. It is possible to work together to make a difference in a situation in which the backs of the human race may be up against the wall.
On an individual level, more is possible. Michael St Clair30 says simply: find a safe place, and do it now. Many others agree. It may be smart to avoid living on the coast, on low-lying land, on a fault zone, in a major city, or on the sides of a volcano. Fresh water is likely to be a major issue. Some analysts consider the southern hemisphere (Australia?) to be safer than the north, as the craziness of orchestrated war threatens.
Remember that global warming will really start to bite in the near future. The Atlantic Conveyor31 may conceivably shut down, plunging Europe into a deep freeze. The warmer the Earth gets, the more evaporation there will be from the sea; so expect Katrina-scale hurricanes (in the west) and cyclones (in the east - they're pretty much the same thing), and disrupted and extreme weather patterns everywhere.
There is a metaphysical approach, too. Lynne McTaggart32 in her new book The Intention Experiment: Using Your Thoughts to Change Your Life argues as she did in her previous work, The Field, that consciousness is a factor that can and does affect macro-scale events. We would wholeheartedly agree. Morphic fields33 – templates or patterns of manifestations yet to unfold – are as powerful and influential as they are invisible; and morphic resonance is also amenable to the power of thought34.
It's even possible to bootstrap oneself into an optimum (least worst) timeline... though there's no instruction book on a mechanical means to do this. Spiritual methodologies such as the many forms of Meditation and other Yogic practice, Buddhism, Sufiism and Shamanism can assist one here. (This is far from an exclusive list, and may include some of the major organized religions. Prayer, if well understood and applied by a mature and aware spirit, is certainly capable of working miracles.)
Times are changing, and global awareness (actually, a large morphic field) is gradually being heightened. The real question is, how fast? The way to put one's shoulder to the wheel is to add one's own strong and optimistic intention to the concept of the positive outcome. And like all such mental or spiritual gymnastics, this has to be real: it cannot be faked.
1. This information has been reported by Dan Burisch. See our interviews page and also Dan Burisch's website. Not all visitors are time travelers. There are a great many races currently visiting this planet; many of these are genuine extraterrestrials. Reported numbers vary, but the respected witness Sgt. Clifford Stone, for example, says he knew of 57. Other witnesses have reported numbers of a similar order of magnitude.
The motivations of the visitors are likely to vary as much as human agendas do. We can safely assume that some are benevolent and altruistic; some are evil and self-serving; and others may have agendas we can only guess at and may be beyond human understanding.
2. According to Burisch, some of the subsequent visitors were future humans who were (at that future time) based on other planets, and no longer on the future Earth.
3. This matter is complex. According to Burisch, some future humans are benevolent, while others are actually seeking to ensure that history is not changed; see note 23 below.
4. Dan Burisch has made detailed technical drawings, from memory, of the 'Looking Glass' device he was familiar with. We'll publish these as soon as we have clearance. Henry Deacon has said that he never worked with or encountered the form of Looking Glass that Burisch described, and therefore is not in a position to confirm it.

7. Researchers differ in some details, but the consensus is that this is probably a brown dwarf. Deacon only referred to it as a massive astronomical object, causing serious gravitational and other effects. Burisch has stated in personal correspondence that his best recall is that he had been told that this object was a small black hole.
8. The mechanism is unclear, but appears to include electromagnetic, gravitational, and other resonance effects.
9. This information is in the public domain. It has been observed, for instance that Mars, Jupiter and Pluto are all warming up. There are many other references.
10. A possible contender for the companion star was announced in 1983 by the Infrared Astronomical Satellite (IRAS) team, reporting a Jupiter-sized object at a distance of 550 astronomical units (550 times the Earth's distance from the sun). The report was withdrawn soon afterwards, though IRAS have always claimed this was not a cover-up. Deacon reports that the small organization within NOAA has known about the "second sun" for a decade or possibly much longer, but has never made any public reference to it.
11. Burisch has stated on record that according to the most recent computer-analyzed Looking Glass data, there is a 19% chance of the worse case scenario occurring, with 85% confidence in that 19% figure.
12. Burisch and Deacon both report that the principal factors at play are large scale and galactic in nature, linked with long-term, recurring cycles of influence on the Earth. Read this article about the correlation between cosmic ray activity and global warming, for instance.
13. Al Gore, in his acclaimed documentary An Inconvenient Truth, makes the case for the harmful effect of increased carbon emissions with considerable impact.
14. The Report from Iron Mountain, among other documents in the public domain, references the organized and orchestrated requirement for war in order to maintain macro-scale economic and social stability.
15. 21 December, 2012 is when the famous Mayan calendar comes to an end. Much has been written in speculation about the reasons why the Mayans saw no need to extend their calendar beyond that date. Deacon and Burisch state that this apparently exact date is not a precise prediction and that the solar events in question could occur at almost any time in the window 2007 – 2016.

Because (according to Burisch) steps were taken to decommission certain devices which were in danger of triggering massively amplified earth changes at the time of the solar 'spike', Burisch is confident in this calculation. Deacon states the the situation is continually subject to change, and is less sure of the figures.

19. Burisch reports that according to Looking Glass data, in the worse case scenario up to 94% of the Earth's population might be killed over the period of a small number of years following the catastrophe.
20. Any high-level military scenario planning would be based on the premise that not everyone could be saved if the world's population were under serious threat.

22. It's accepted by scientists that one of the possible effects from a sufficiently major solar 'spike' is that on Earth all electronic communications might be rendered unusable for some time.
23. The title Project Preserve Destiny is chilling, implying that the project may be based on the premise that a cataclysmic future event has been observed through very high technology time-portal devices... and that it is to be ensured that what has been observed must occur. Burisch reports that a certain group of future humans, whom he calls The Rogues and who come from approx. 45,000 years hence, are committed to making sure that events in their history do indeed come to pass in our timeline and are not averted.
24. Alternative 3 was shown by UK's Anglia TV on 20 June, 1977 – although it was initially scheduled to be premiered on 1 April. Anglia TV made a statement the day after the program that it had been intended as a joke.

Click here for a newspaper cutting in which Leslie Watkins, who authored the book of the same name, reveals that although he intended it as fiction in support of the TV program, he appears to have accidentally hit on something very real with the premise he portrayed.
25. The premise described in the TV program (and the book) was that to deal with the twin problems of overpopulation and global warming, there were three alternative solutions:
Alternative 1: to drastically reduce the human population on Earth;
Alternative 2: to construct a network of underground bases to safeguard a small, elite population;
Alternative 3: to establish a 'Noah's Ark' colony of humanity's best and brightest off of the planet – on Mars.
26. According to Deacon, stargates are routinely used for transport to distant locations, 'travel time' being instantaneous.
27. Deacon reports that SOLAR WARDEN encompasses a small fleet of large, highly classified spaceplanes.
28. According to Deacon, the Mars base is multifunctional and has a large population of around 670,000 (not all of whom are present-day humans). Situated underground on the bottom of an ancient dried-up sea, it has, apparently, been in existence for thousands of years but was recently re-established in the early 1960s by an international team. Its functions include stargate access to more distant locations still.
29. HIV, SARS, Avian ('bird') flu, and other modern scares – whether orchestrated or not – come to mind.

31. Click here for a summary of the importance of the Atlantic Conveyor, a critical component of the oceanic circulatory system. If the Atlantic Conveyor were to shut down (as might be triggered by a massive amount of cool water flooding into the North Atlantic from, for instance, the melting of Arctic ice or Greenland glaciers), then the warm waters of the Gulf Stream would no longer reach European shores and Europe would experience a much cooler climate... despite global warming.

33. The British Biologist Dr. Rupert Sheldrake introduced the concepts of Morphic Fields and Morphic Resonance in his revolutionary 1981 book A New Science of Life: The Hypothesis of Formative Causation. Simply put, Sheldrake argues that species create Morphic Fields – templates based on accumulated experience that have an an effect on the behaviors, attitudes and abilities of subsequent members of the same species – which influence others encountering the same situations at the same or a later time.
34. The relevance here is that humans can consciously create Morphic Fields, which influence others once a critical mass of intention is gathered. It's one way in which a small group, powerfully and positively focused, can gradually change the world.
Boris Kipriyanovich is an Indigo Child, probably the most famous in Russia. Boriska, or 'little Boris', was featured in Pravda here and here, after Gennady Belimov, a university professor in the Volgograd region of Russia, witnessed Boriska, then aged just seven, astound an adult audience during a camping trip in which he held them spellbound for an hour and a half as he recounted tales of past lives on Mars and Lemuria, and warned of catastrophes due to affect the Earth in 2009 and 2013. Belimov had the presence of mind to record Boriska's monologue, and within a short time word was spreading within Russia about what this diminutive prophet had to say, especially once the story was picked by Moscow's premier newspaper.
Word gradually filtered to the west via a Pravda article that made it on to the internet. Meanwhile, there had been a short piece about him in Nexus Magazine which had stirred up a huge amount of interest.
On the trail of our documentary project on 2012, Project Camelot decided to travel to Russia to find Boriska and capture his testimony on camera. It seems we were the first westerners to have made the journey. On 8 October, we were privileged to interview him with his mother, Nadya, near Moscow where Nadya had brought him to attend a special school for gifted children. They live in a small one-roomed apartment. The father is absent.

We headed to pick up Boriska and his mother from Moscow... with the traffic it took over an hour. When we finally rolled up outside the high rise older apartment building where Boriska is staying they were nowhere in sight. We spent a few minutes in the parking lot when we noticed a gangly youngster peeking around the corners of the building at us... and ducking away when he saw me looking.
He wore a backwards red baseball cap and an impish expression I could see even at a distance. After a moment I realized this
must indeed be Boriska... and when his mother appeared she waved us over to meet him. He had run behind the partition and was apparently experiencing a bout of shyness... I quickly went around the corner and stuck my hand out with a smile... telling him in English everything would be ok. He took my hand and smiled sweetly. I knew we would be friends.
Later, during the interview, Boriska exhibited all the signs of a young boy becoming a teenager, reluctant to express more than was absolutely necessary... waving away the details as things he spoke about in his youth, now his mind was on other things. This life had taken a firm hold and no more did his eyes shine with the memories of his past life on Mars or even Lemuria.
In spite of this, his charm and impish personality shone through as he patiently waded through our pragmatic adult questions. His eyes roamed and his imagination searched for more stimulation than provided by this small room with little furniture, crammed with adults and cameras... He squirmed to escape to his video game where he played an Avatar, part cat and part superman... scaling walls and outwitting enemies at every turn.
He was bored with us!! But earnest and polite to a fault.. unusual for a boy of 11. He spoke about the wars that caused the end of the Martian civilization, how they tried to turn Jupiter into a 2nd sun... with what purpose is unclear. He was surprised in the most humble way, to learn that his professor friend, Vladislav Lugovenko, remembered well an incident where Boris tapped into a dangerous event that happened on his way home in the subway. When he arrived home, Boris asked him about the thugs who had approached and threatened him... when the professor had said nothing. "You are a telepath", I told him. "Not yet"... he modestly replied... with a small smile, wise beyond his years, careful and delicate.
When asked what he thought of the humans on this planet he sighed quietly then said he "did not like to speak bad about people".
The understatement said it all. What must he really be seeing through those wonderfully clear eyes? This is not so much an interview as an exploration of the place and time that this 11 year old boy finds himself in, with some surprise. He talks of the future waters coming to inundate Moscow, in 2009, matter-of-factly... Will he survive? Will his mother? He shrugs... survival is not so important, he seems to be saying. Rep. Ron Paul Blasts Big Business, Media & Congress

The other day, I made a huge "gaffe" on national television, I told the truth about the crimes of the U.S. Government.
As you can imagine, the ceiling fell in, and a couple of walls too. Congressmen are supposed to support the government, I was told. 'Oh, it's okay to criticize around the edges but there are certain subjects a member of the House of Representatives is not supposed to bring up.'
I was interviewed on C-SPAN's morning Washington Journal, and I used the opportunity, as I do all such media appearances, to point out how many of our liberties have been stolen by the federal government. If we stuck to the Constitution as written, we would have no federal meddling in our schools, no Federal Reserve, no U.S. membership in the UN, no gun control, and no foreign aid. We should have no welfare for corporations or the "poor," no American troops in 100 foreign countries, no NAFTA, GATT or "fast-track," no arrogant federal judges usurping states' rights, no attacks on private property and no income tax. We could get rid of most of the cabinet departments, most of the agencies and most of the budget. The government would be small, frugal and limited.
That system is called liberty. It's what the Founding Fathers gave us. Under liberty, we built the greatest, freest, most prosperous, most decent country on earth. It's no coincidence that the monstrous growth of the federal government has been accompanied by a sickening decline in living
standards and moral standards. The feds want us to be hamsters on a treadmill – working hard, all day long to pay high taxes, but otherwise entirely docile and controlled.
Well, I'm sorry, but that's not America. It's not what the founding fathers gave us.
So, on that TV interview, I emphasized not only the attacks on our property, but also the decline of our civil liberties at the hands of the federal police. There are not supposed to be any federal police according to the Constitution.
Then I really went over the line. I talked about the Waco massacre. Bill Clinton and Janet Reno claim those 81 men, women, and children, burned down their own church and killed themselves, and good riddance. So, they put a few survivors on trial and threw them in prison for 40 years.
We're not supposed to remember that the Bureau of alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms – talk about an unconstitutional Agency – rather than arrest David Koresh on his regular morning jog, called in the TV stations for a big publicity bonanza and sent a SWAT team in black masks and black uniforms to break down his front door, guns blazing. They also sent in a helicopter gunship to shoot at the roof of a church full of innocents.
The Branch Davidians resisted, and after a heartless siege of almost two months, and after cutting off food, water and electricity, and playing horrible rock and roll through huge speakers 24 hours a day, the feds sent in the tanks to crush the walls of the church, and inject poisonous CS gas.
Now, CS gas is banned under the Paris Convention on Chemical Warfare. The U.S. could not use it in a war. But it could and did use it against American civilians.
After the tanks did their work on the church, the place burst into flames and all 81 people – men, women, children and babies – were incinerated in screaming horror.
Did some feds set the fire? Did flammable CS gas ignite, since without electricity, the parishioners were using lanterns – striking one of the bales of hay being used against the thin walls as a "defense" against bullets? Or did the Davidians, as Clinton and Reno claim, kill themselves?
Whatever the truth, there's no question that an irresponsible federal government has innocent blood on its hands.
In my interview, in answer to a caller's question, I pointed out that Waco, and the federal murders at Ruby Ridge, Idaho, especially the FBI sniper's shot that blasted apart the head of a mother holding her baby, caused many Americans to live in fear of federal power.
Then I uttered the sentiments that caused the media hysteria. I said that a lot of Americans fear that they too might be attacked by federal SWAT teams for exercising their Constitutional rights or merely for wanting to be left alone.
You've never seen anything like it. For days, in an all-out assault, I was attacked by Democrats, big business, establishment Republicans, and of course, the media in Washington – and my home state of Texas.
Newspapers foamed at the mouth, calling me a "right-wing extremist." (Say, isn't that what George III called Thomas Jefferson?")
I was even blamed for the Oklahoma City bombing. And by the way, I don't believe we've gotten the full truth on that, either.
All my opponents were outraged that a congressman would criticize big government. "If you don't like Washington, resign," said a typical big city newspaper editorial.
But the media, as usual, were all wet. Do they ever get anything right? The average congressman may go to Washington to wallow in power and line his pockets with a big lobbying job for special interest – so he can keep ripping off the taxpayers.
But that's not why I'm in Congress. It's not why I left my medical practice as a physician. It's not why I refuse a plush congressional pension.
I'm in this fight for a reason. I will not let the crooks and clowns and criminals have their way. I'm in Congress to represent the ideas of liberty, the ideas that you and I share, for the people of my district, for the people of Texas, for the people of America. That's why I'm working to stop federal abuses and to cut the government – its taxes, its bureaucrats, its paramilitary police, its spending, its meddling overseas and every single unconstitutional action it takes.
Not much of the federal leviathan would be left, if I had my way. But you'll be able to keep the money you earn, your privacy would be secure, your dollar would be sound, your local school would be tops and your kids wouldn't be sent off to some useless or vicious foreign war to fight for the UN.
When I say cut taxes, I don't mean fiddle with the code. I mean abolish the income tax and the IRS and replace them with nothing.
Recently, I asked a famous Republican committee chairman, who is always talking about getting rid of the IRS, why he engineered a secret $580 million raise for the tax collectors.
"They need it for their computers," this guy told me. So the IRS can't extract enough from us as it is?
I won't play the Capitol Hill games with the Capitol Hill gang, denouncing the IRS while giving the Gestapo more of your money. Or figuring out some other federal tax for them to squeeze out of you.
I also want to abolish the Federal Reserve and send Alan Greenspan out to get a job.
The value of our dollar and the level of our interest rates are not supposed to be manipulated by a few members of the power elite meeting secretly in a marble palace.
The Federal Reserve is unconstitutional, pure and simple. Without the Federal Reserve, our money could not be inflated at the behest of big government or big banks. Your income and savings would not lose their value.
Just as important, we wouldn't have this endless string of booms and busts, recessions and depressions, with each bust getting worse.
I also work to save our schools from D.C. interference. Not only do the feds' new curriculae smear the Founders as "racist, slave-owning elitists," they seek to dumb down our students so they will all be equal. "Look-say" reading and the abolition of phonics has the same purpose, and so does the
new "fuzzy" math, in which there are no right and wrong answers.
But ever since the beginning of federal aid to education and accelerating with the establishment of the rotten Department of Education, SAT scores have been dropping. Schools, with very few exceptions, are getting worse every year. To save our kids, we must get the sticky fingers of the feds off our local schools, and let parents rule.
And then there's my least favorite topic: the UN. World government is obviously unconstitutional. It undermines our country's sovereignty in the worst way possible. That's why I want us out of the UN, and the UN itself taking a hike.
After all, the UN is socialist, and corrupt. Many votes can be bought with a "blonde and a case of scotch," one UN ambassador once said. It costs many billions' and it puts our soldiers in UN uniforms under foreign commanders, and sends them off to unconstitutional, undeclared wars.
When Michael New, one of the finest young men I've ever met, objected to wearing UN blue, he was kicked out of the Army.
Not one dime for the UN, and not one American soldier. Not in Haiti, not in Bosnia, not in Somalia, not in Rwanda. I know it's radical, but how about devoting our efforts to defending America, and only America?

Hello New Earthers!
I know it's been a long time since I've posted a newsletter. Traveling and consistency in following through on projects do not seem to make good bedfellows. However, I am now settling into teaching in China and wanted to find out what everyone is doing to bring in the new earth and see if you are still interested in being a part of the New Earth Council.
I have been participating in a number of online groups that are aligned with bringing in the new earth. One of these is Mission Ignition, sponsored by Alex Kochkin (http://www.pfcn.net), who wrote the book, "A New America, An Awakened Future on Our Horizon." Following is a message that I posted today in response to a message about the change in leadership in Australia:
I recently learned from talking to Australians who I teach with that Australians still have an authentic voting process, so there is still the opportunity to have a working democracy there. In the U.S., people have to get a lot more concerned than they have been about making sure votes can be audited before we have a working democracy.
As I have worked on this very issue since 2001, I would like to add my two cents about what can be done to throw off the tyranny of deception that voters are being deluded by in the U.S.
1. Insist on a process of voting that can be easily audited. This means that we should not use any form of computerized voting.
2. Audit the vote wherever there is a dispute about the results. There should be a review committee of concerned citizens in every county who make sure that mail-in ballots are properly counted and that the results are then changed accordingly. Election results should not be announced until every last vote is counted.
Today the results are announced the very next day, based solely upon electronic votes. These never seem to change after the mail-in ballots are counted. Usually there is a full 30 days for counties to count all the mail-in ballots. I have never seen the election results change after the mail-in ballots have been counted, a very suspicious fact which should make progressives hesitate to push a strategy of mail-in ballots. I believe that this time allotment for counting the votes should be changed to 7 days.
Also the final results of national elections should not be tallied by any private companies, but in a transparent process carried out by government employees, with strict reporting requirements to ensure that the final vote is made without any tampering. There should be a system of checks and double checks to verify the final counts at the county and state levels, as well as at the national level.
This information should be readily available in an easy-to-read format by anyone who is interested, and should be archived on the Internet for easy access. Ditto for state elections -- the results should be made available to anyone who is interested, broken down county by county, and district by district. Ditto for local elections -- the results should be broken down by voting precincts. Then people in the communities could more easily know whether their vote had been tampered with.
3. Candidates who suspect that they have lost an election because of vote manipulation should have a legal team that contests the results of the election and ensures that an accurate vote is made.
4. International observers should be permitted to monitor the voting process in the U.S. and submit analysis of wrongdoing for the public to review.
5. People should have the day off work on an election day. If every community held public forums on an election day for voters to meet the candidates and discuss the issues before they voted, I am confident that you would get more people to vote and they would have more confidence that they knew how to vote.
We need more face-to-face interaction as our communities have become increasingly splintered. High school and college students could hold debates for the general public to attend. We could hear speeches and hold debates in all the shopping malls throughout the country. We need to get more creative about involving people in the process and create more opportunities for people to get heard and become part of ongoing discussions about political issues and candidates with their neighbors.
Having a national holiday just for voting would give people time to participate more fully in the process. It would also send a message to the world that people in the U.S. were participating in the government and that it actually was a democracy again with free speech and true representation.
6. Corruption at every level of government and in every branch of government and in every institution needs to be addressed and rooted out to restore integrity.
7. Serious consideration should be given to changing our forms of government so that the needs of everyone are considered and the well-being of everyone is promoted. I believe that we should revoke the right of a central government to wage war. If people everywhere did this, we could end the practice of warfare. We simply have an agreement that we allow the heads of government to make decisions for us about waging wars. We can change that agreement. I'm not saying it would be easy, but it is imperative for the survival of humanity.
8. Authentic community-based newspaper reporting should be restored, with reporters who cover beats and provide ongoing analysis that puts developments into a larger frame of reference and historical context. The political process should not be reduced to flavor-of-the-day kind of reporting. No community should tolerate the kind of one-sided bias that the mainstream media has in the U.S. today in what they choose to report about and how they present the news. A strategy of lawsuits to uncover the deception and lies perpetrated on the citizenry could clean up news reporting, as well as a campaign by concerned citizen groups to make sure the truth were being told about issues that affect the community.
Obfuscation should not be acceptable. The issues are not too complex for people to understand. Bureaucrats and politicians who pursue the hidden agendas of invested interests deliberately make the issues appear too difficult for the average person to follow and understand. How can people vote and make good decisions when they've only been fed garbage? The adage, "Garbage in, garbage out" certainly holds true in politics as well as computers. And today in the U.S., by and large our political progress is garbage.
If we were to go out for a nice dinner and got fed the kind of garbage that they've been shoveling at us in politics, we'd refuse to pay and walk out. When will people in the U.S. start demanding a better fare?

Being here in China, my connection with Quan Yin has been growing stronger. On the inner planes, I have made some new friends, a fairie who has come to live with me, NuAmy, and the spirit of the Earth as represented by a smiling, benevolent Chinese grandmother. I also continue to communicate with the intergalactic council which I serve on as a representative from Earth. This contact recently shifted to my starting to become acquainted with some of the non-humanoid form beings who have come to trust me.
I feel that I am continually being strengthened and reinforced by communication with others on the inner planes and that I have received several initiations. I am continually "on call" in this work and have been quite active in working with a wide range of others in shifting energy so that it has not been possible for the U.S. to invade Iran and trigger WWIII. Sometimes it has felt as though I worked in a fire station where my sleep has continually been interrupted by a busy fire season.
I have also recently been active in my role as a lightworker to bring the light of truth to the darkest place on earth, which I consider to be the island of Diego Garcia. I have allied with a group of people in England who work for a charitable organization, Reprieve, headed by Clive Stafford Smith, that is pushing to get the British Parliament to investigate claims of torture being carried out at a detention facility at Diego Garcia. Last month I mailed a similar request to Rep. Henry Waxman, chair of the government oversight committee, to investigate Reprieve's claims.
This afternoon I took a nap and dreamed that some people had located me who wanted to torture me because I was threatening them. I am so powerful in my dreams that I simply upended them into a ditch. Whenever I feel attacked or beset by fear, I call on some or all of the extensive spiritual guides I work with. This is how I can actually do what I feel inspired to do, no matter what appearances may be. I have learned that even in the most perilous situations, I am never alone. Allies always show up.
In my journeys, I have been finding out how much the universe really does support me in carrying out my mission. One of the most exciting discoveries I have made is how much of a creator I really am and that I can work with the collective energies of shared intention to manifest outcomes. By far the greatest majority of people on earth desire peace. Collectively, we have been succeeding in thwarting the desires of the power-driven ones who would control everyone on the planet through the ongoing chaos and destruction of warfare. I say we have been successful in averting the onset of war in Iran.
There is no better evidence that the shift to a new earth is actually occurring. Every day that passes in which this war does not begin is another day for the gathering strength of the forces of peace to prevail.
I have been meeting twice a week with a young Chinese woman, age 19, for a language and cultural exchange. Her English name is Alice and she has come to Qingdao to study at Ocean University (where I teach English) all the way from Urumqi, a three-day train trip from here that traverses the Gobi Desert. Last evening we were singing her favorite songs in English that she has memorized, the theme song from Titanic that starts, "Every night in my dreams, I see you, I feel you, that is how I know you go on." and "I'm a big big girl in a big big world" recorded by the Swedish pop singer, Emilia, some years ago.
Alice commented that Chinese did not express their love as freely as Westerners. I conceded that this may be true, although I don't really think it's all that easy for Westerners, either. This morning I woke up from a dream in which a roomful of Chinese were enthusiastically hugging each other. Something shifted on the inner planes through our cultural exchange.
Thank you for your patience if you have read this far. I realize that my kaleidioscopic interests in politics, mystical experiences, ETs, fairies, shamanism, lightwork, manifesting from energy, etc. stretch most people's bounds of belief and tolerance. I like to think that as a Libra I am predisposed to bringing about balance and harmony of all aspects of existence.
Here is an exercise for you to practice one aspect of what I have been learning to do the next time that you feel surrounded by chaotic energies: Focus on your breath, establishing order in the space around you through the rhythm of breathing in and out. This will create a space for you to gain mastery of your thoughts so that you can invoke spiritual assistance. Ask for help in opening your heart so that you can serve as a channel to bring in the harmonizing wavelengths of love into the situation. Then transmit love and light. Let yourself go and glow.
I would appreciate any feedback you might have on doing this. Lately I've decided to send out waves of love this way on a daily basis. So if you happen to feel really good for no reason that you can tell and you start to feel really loved, just remember you may be feeling a wave of love coming through me from the spirit of a Chinese grandmother and a playful faerie.

I stopped paying taxes in 2005. What's more, I have left the U.S. as I can no longer be part of a country which kills people in other countries with such impunity.
I'm living in China now. I've been watching how they are preparing their military and have quietly aligned with Russia and built up coalitions with other countries. While the U.S. has become increasingly insular with its unilateral action in Iraq and heavy-handed approach to other countries (bribing or threatening), a number of alliances and coalitions have been forming all over the world that do not include the U.S.
Of course, these developments are not reported in the mainstream press, which is a government tool to control the minds of the people. However, the issues-oriented approach of the alternative press does not cover global trends and developments much either. So the American people are stumbling along with blinders on and don't get it that the U.S. cannot possibly start a war in Iran and win. In fact, it will not be just a disastrous regional conflict. It will immediately trigger a full-scale global war because almost every other country in the war will fight against the U.S. if it invades Iran.
At this point, most of the other people in the world get it that the U.S. is waging aggressive wars based on false pretexts, which has everyone worried and alarmed. An invasion of Iran will not be tolerated. A best-case scenario might be that the U.S. would effectually lose the war within a week, not only with great loss to Iranians, but also within the U.S. itself. The worst-case scenario is that the U.S. uses nuclear weapons in an air strike against Iran and other countries retaliate, leading to a full-scale nuclear war of global proportions, destroying humanity and contaminating the Earth.
This is not a science fiction plot. It is a very real possibility.
So, what have you personally done to avert this horrific outcome? Have you organized a national strike? Do you think that not paying taxes is sufficient? Have you taken any steps to impeach these war criminals?
Have you examined the connection between capitalism and militarism and the real history of the U.S. and its many wars? Have you disconnected with the suffering of other people in the world that don't have the comforts of those in the U.S.? Do you even care what happens in other countries?
Americans need to wake up and start asking themselves some difficult questions. Why has a culture evolved that rewards the most aggressive and least caring of its people? Why are the greedy ones lauded and allowed to go on exploiting others on a grand scale? Why don't people do something about criminals systematically looting every asset the U.S. has to wage wars and line their own pockets? Why has corruption been allowed to destroy the ideals and institutions of the country? Why have people allowed their rights to be taken away and their democracy eviscerated?
I am personally committed to stopping the U.S. from starting a war in Iran. All I really want to do is lead a peaceful, interesting life, just like most people in the world. However, I feel responsible for my country, even if I no longer live there, and my heart is heavy. Are you committed to stopping the U.S. from invading Iran? If so, what are you doing about it?

The security of the United States, as well as the Middle East, is hanging in the balance - Rhetoric flowing out of the White House indicates the Bush administration is planning a military attack on Iran. Officials in Saudi Arabia, a close Bush ally, think the handwriting is on the wall. "George Bush's tone makes us think he has decided what he is going to do," according to Rihab Massoud, Prince Bandar ben Sultan's right-hand man. Saudi Social Affairs Minister Abdel Mohsen Hakas told Le Figaro, "We are getting closer and closer to a confrontation." As Bush and Cheney try to whip us into a frenzy about the dangers Iran poses, their argument comes up short. They say Iran is developing nuclear weapons, but Mohamed ElBaradei, director of the U.N. International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), says there is "no evidence" of this. They say Iran is sending deadly weapons into Iraq to kill U.S. troops, but those devices can be manufactured in any Iraqi machine shop. Now the New York Times reports most of the foreign fighters in Iraq come, not from Iran, but from two Bush allies -- Saudi Arabia and Libya. An estimated 90 percent of suicide bombings are carried out by foreign fighters. And senior U.S. military officials believe the financial support for Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia comes primarily from Saudi Arabia. Yet the Bush/Cheney polemics about Iran continue to escalate. Pat Buchanan is too patriotic to come right out and say it, but the message of his new book, Day of Reckoning, is that America, as we have known her, is finished. Moreover, Naomi Wolf agrees with him. These two writers of different political persuasions arrive at America's demise from different directions.
Buchanan explains how hubris, ideology, and greed have torn America apart. The Bush administration responded to September 11 by initiating military aggression in the Middle East and by using fear and the "war on terror" to implement police state measures at home with legislation, presidential directives, and executive orders
Overnight the US became a tyranny in which people could be arrested and incarcerated on the basis of unsubstantiated accusation. Both US citizens and non-citizens were denied habeas corpus, due process, and access to attorneys and courts. Congress gave Bush legislation establishing military tribunals, the procedures of which permit people to be condemned to death on the basis of secret evidence, hearsay, and confessions extracted by torture. Nothing of the like has ever been seen before in the US.
The cancer might have metastasized if the Guantanamo detainees had actually been the dangerous terrorists and enemy combatants that the Bush regime declared them to be. Had the administration actually possessed evidence against the detainees, the Bush regime might have succeeded in dispensing with the Constitution. Conviction of the detainees could have led to what Wolf calls a "fascist expansion." Following the exercise of its new powers, the regime could have broadened the definition of terrorist to include the regime's critics, thus pulling citizens in general into tribunals devoid of civil liberty protections.
It could still turn out this way in the event of another 9/11 attack, whether real or orchestrated. But momentarily the drive toward tyranny has been blunted, because the vast majority of detainees turned out to be hapless individuals sold into American captivity by warlords responding to the bounty the US paid for "terrorists." Any unprotected individual was vulnerable to being captured by Afghan and Pakistani warlords and sold as a "terrorist." The Americans needed to show results, and the Bush regime needed "terrorists" in order to feed the fear its propaganda had generated.
In Stalinist Russia or Nazi Germany, the absence of evidence would not have mattered as the judicial system produced the results demanded by the tyrants. However, the US military had not been sufficiently corrupted for the Bush regime's Guantanamo agenda to succeed. Honorable officers, such as Lt. Col. Stephen Abraham, were able to discern that the US government had no information on the detainees and used interrogations in order to rubber stamp the a priori determination that a detainee was a terrorist or enemy combatant. Military officers made these revelations known to real courts before the tribunal process could establish itself.
CounterPunch writer Andy Worthington's recently published book, The Guantanamo Files: The Stories of the 759 Detainees in America's Illegal Prison, proves that the regime's claim that it had hundreds of dangerous terrorists at Guantanamo was just another Bush administration lie.
Currently, support for Bush, Cheney, and the neoconservative agenda is low. However, Congress, the press, and elections have proven to be feeble opponents of the Bush regime's drive toward war and tyranny. It remains to be seen whether the regime has sufficient credibility or audacity to initiate war with Iran or a false flag attack that would revive the fascist expansion of which Naomi Wolf warns.
The Bush administration has been a catastrophe. Its failures are unprecedented. Energy prices are at all time highs. The US is deeply in debt and dependent on foreign creditors. The dollar has lost 60 per cent of its value against other tradable currencies, and its reserve currency status, the basis of American power, is in doubt. The US has lost millions of middle class jobs which have been replaced with low paid domestic service jobs. Except for the very rich, Americans have experienced no gains in real income in the 21st century. As the ladders of upward mobility are dismantled and the middle class struggles and fails, America is left with a few rich and many poor. America's reputation and credibility are damaged perhaps beyond repair. Congress and the press have enabled the executive branch's disregard of the Constitution and civil liberty. The US is mired in two lost wars which are pushing Lebanon and nuclear-armed Pakistan into deepening political crises.
As Buchanan concludes, "Our day of reckoning is at hand."

If that happens, then America loses a great deal. Other countries have to maintain large reserves of foreign currencies - most of which they keep in US dollars - to cover their foreign debts, but the United States can pay its huge foreign debts in its own money. If necessary, it can just print more dollars. Having their own money as the world's reserve currency confers advantages that Americans would miss if they lost them. The main reason for the collapse of the US dollar is President George W Bush's attempt to fight expensive foreign wars while cutting taxes at home. This involved deficit financing on a very large scale, and inevitably the value of the dollar began to fall - slowly at first, but with increasing speed as it became clear that the White House did not care. "Ronald Reagan proved that deficits don't matter," as Vice-President Dick Cheney told then-Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill.But they do matter to foreigners. As the US dollar fell in value, the price of oil (which is usually calculated in dollars) rose to compensate for it, but there was no comparable adjustment for foreign central banks that had huge amounts of US dollars in their reserves. China, which was sitting on about a trillion US dollars, simply lost several hundred billion as the currency's value fell. So various central banks started wondering if they should diversify their reserves, and some acted on it. The downward pressure on the dollar will continue, because the United States is currently borrowing six percent of its Gross Domestic Product from foreigners each year to cover its trade deficit. Everything I’ve done has been highly classified, all black programs and black operations. Some people I know thought I worked for the CIA, but it’s much more complicated than that. I’ve worked with people in the CIA, DIA, NSC, NSA, SAIC, Army Intel and many more lesser known agencies within the intelligence apparatus.
Before focusing on PsyOps I started out running covert combat missions, special operations. I was good at what I did and rose through the ranks fast. When the “War on Terror” started I was paid a lot of money to consult with private military contractors. When private paramilitary units needed to get the jobs done that paid the most money they would come to me with checkbooks filled with US taxpayer dough.
I’ve seen the worst things imaginable, hell on earth. Had friends die in my arms. Seen piles of rotten corpses. Seen men, women and children tortured. I’ve seen the eyes of terrified and confused children being sold into a vicious life of slavery and an early death.
I could get a lot more graphic, but you get the idea.
That was my life, and all along I was told that I was fighting for freedom and working for the “good guys.” What a ridiculous comment that is! In the black world, that is, in the covert world, there aren’t any “good guys” — just varying degrees of evil.
As Brigadier General Butler famously stated, “War is a racket.” It doesn’t have anything to do with freedom and democracy. It is not good fighting evil. There’s just a bunch of old greedy gangsta motherfuckers making obscene amounts of cash and breeding hatred, violence, terrorists and sex slaves.
The truth is, there is no oversight! Meaning, you can get away with anything, nothing is illegal because no one knows about it, or the few who do are either in on it or have a vested interest in keeping quiet. Whether you’re runnin’ guns, weapons, drugs, gold, diamonds, women, children, it just doesn’t matter. As long as the old guard gets their resources, it’s all good. And in the end, it’s all about power. The people who really run this planet know that natural resources (oil, water, coltan, cobalt, etc.) are the key. The “War on Terror” is just a front for a geo-strategic resource grab on a massive scale. Even the wars in Northern Africa are all about exploitation of resources. Once the good ole CIA boys at Bechtel did their NASA satellite studies of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s (DRC) mineral resources and discovered that it was the “richest patch of earth on the planet,” all hell broke loose! They figured out that the DRC has 80% of the world’s coltan, among many other vital resources. Without coltan, you can’t have any technology that requires a computer chip: computers, cell phones, satellites and weapon systems, of course. So Bechtel, the CitiBank boys, the World Bank, IMF and various covert elements have been supplying brutal regime after brutal regime in the region. Well over four million and counting have died there.
Same thing with oil in the Middle East. Do you think they really give a shit about Iraqi freedom? We worked hard to make you believe that, but c’mon, they don’t give a shit about the Iraqi people. They’ve killed about a MILLION of them! And that’s NOT an exaggeration! They sure as hell give a shit about Iraqi oil though. They also care about Saudi oil, and have a nice deal with a dictatorship that brutally oppresses their people. If freedom and democracy are the issue, how about freeing the Saudi people? Why do you think 15 of the 9/11 terrorists came from Saudi Arabia? We support a regime that oppresses those people. We support them because they cooperate on the oil front. So, why strike back at them? Let’s hit Iraq. They don’t give us any oil - let’s get’em!
If you look at the history of covert special operations, it’s all about securing a piece of land that has some valuable resource. Once the resource is identified, special ops figures out the most efficient way to suppress or extinguish the population that is unfortunate enough to live near it. Then the big companies come in, from the United Fruit Company to the Bechtels and Halliburtons of the world. That is the way it has been and still is, from John D. Rockefeller and Allen Dulles right through Kissinger, Bush Sr. and Cheney. Millions of innocent civilians have been slaughtered. Let me repeat that: Millions of innocent civilians have been slaughtered. And I’m not kidding you. These are evil motherfuckers and they are no friends of ours. These things don’t have anything to do with protecting the US people or standing up for freedom and democracy. They don’t give a shit about the average American. In this age of the global economy, the concept of nation state is obsolete. If only proud Americans could understand that. Pride in the American way is just another propaganda device for PsyOps agents — people like me — to use to manipulate you and make you think that black is white and white is black.
If you were to ask me who is a bigger threat to the people of the US, Cheney or bin Laden, or who has done more damage to the US, I would say Cheney without hesitation. Cheney, along with Bush Sr. and Kissinger, has been running the covert world for about 40 years now.
A little side note for you: I firmly believe Robert Gates, the current Secretary of Defense and Bush Sr.’s right-hand man in the covert world, used computer cryptography and software security assets to get Bush Jr. elected both times. I do not have direct knowledge of the operation, but research “Robert Gates,” “Bill Owens,” “electronic voting security,” “HAVA,” “VoteHere” and “Scientific Applications International Corp.” [We will post more on this in the near future.] The operation went so well that Gates was going to be made the first ever Director of National Intelligence. He turned down the job, but then took the Secretary of Defense position when Rumsfeld was removed from his public position. I don’t think there will ever be solid evidence linking directly to members of the administration; it’s all a tangled web of plausible deniability. But I do think it will eventually be proven that the elections were manipulated to deliver Bush the victory. Many people in the covert world take this for granted, as common sense.
Please don’t confuse this as partisan propaganda. I don’t give a shit about the Democrat or Republican PsyOps mind-fuck dynamic. They’re just labels to divide a potentially powerful united US public.
It’s hard to get the average American to understand these things. Most everyone in this country has been mind-fucked since birth. For a very blatant example, you can look at the advertising industry and the way they have increased intensely their focus on the youth. It’s all about breeding impulsive emotionally driven consumers through repetition - over and over again - buy, buy, buy. You hear something enough and you internalize the message. It becomes something like the air you breathe, like gravity. It’s there, omnipresent, but you don’t realize it or consciously think about it. It becomes the spring from which your thoughts leap forth.
What it all boils down to is the exposure rate. You take a simple message and you repeat it over and over, such as mentioning Saddam and 9/11. You don’t have to say Saddam was involved in 9/11, because that is not true. You just have to mention Saddam and 9/11 in the same simple repetitive message thousands of times and people will support an attack on a country that didn’t have anything to do with 9/11 because they’ve been psychologically conditioned to link the two.
It’s psychological operations on a grand scale, mass psychology. The scientific art of manipulating public opinion is 100 years old now. PsyOps have evolved to the point, thanks to the all pervasive mass media, where we can make you believe, or at least passively accept, whatever we want you to. I secretly worked with the world’s most powerful media companies to get you to believe what “they” want you to believe. The media is the most efficient weapon of tyranny and oppression ever created. No need to physically control populations anymore when you can do it mentally - program it in, internalize the rules.
To give a little more background on publicly revealed psychological operations, in 1977, after the Congressional Church Committee investigated CIA manipulation of the news media, and right after George Bush Sr. left his post as the Director of the CIA, famed Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein searched a little deeper into what was known as Operation Mockingbird. He revealed that over 400 US journalists were actually carrying out clandestine CIA PsyOps services. Bernstein identified operations involving almost every major US news outlet, most notably The New York Times, CBS and Time magazine. The CIA responded to all of this with a “limited hangout.” A “limited hangout” is CIA speak for when classified information gets out and you have to make it seem as if you are “coming clean” with all the information on the operation, but in reality you are really just admitting part of the operation so you can cover up other deeper parts and continue the program. This worked very effectively for them, as the US public quickly moved on and this operation has largely been forgotten. Currently, I would estimate, with cable news and the Internet now, that there are well over a thousand covert operatives spread throughout the news media. They have a firm grip on television, newspapers, wire services, radio and magazines. However, with the Internet - that’s their weak spot - it’s too decentralized and difficult to control.
The Pentagon’s Information Operations Roadmap now describes the Internet as an enemy “weapons system.” The Pentagon doesn’t hide the fact that they want total control over information, or as they call it “information dominance.” They very plainly state that they seek to “control land, sea, space and information.” This is what they refer to as “full spectrum dominance.” If you don’t think they see this as a top priority, look at Iraq. The plan to “embed” journalists with the military in Iraq was a strategic operation that considered “journalism as part of psychological operations.” The journalists that weren’t “embedded” were considered “enemy combatants.” More journalists have been killed in Iraq than in any other war, and it is the US doing a large portion of the killing.
Before I go too far here, the point I want to make to the US public, the bottom line is that the most power crazed and greed addicted people are above the law and get away with everything. In the covert world rules do not apply. Democracy is a fairy tale. Nothing is what it seems, reality isn’t real. Through the looking glass Alice goes.
I’ve fought against it and got nowhere. I’ve informed people that I naively thought could do something, but nothing could be done. I took all the blood money I’ve made and donated it to humanitarian causes. Will it make a difference? No. Not in the grand scheme of things, but in the short run it may save a few people… maybe. And that’s all I can hope for at this point.
I’ve become so cynical! I live with guilt and cynicism weighing on my every move, my every thought.
When you’ve seen the things I have seen, been involved with the things I’ve been involved with, when you’ve spent the majority of your life living like I have, what do you do when you decide to give it up and get out? Can you ever get out?
I was able to get out, thus far, when no one I knew thought I could get out. But once you lived in the covert world, “normal” civilian life feels like a prison sentence. Then again, the covert world was a prison sentence.
I’ve been strongly advised to keep a very low profile and forget about things for a while. But I find it hard to just fade into the night when we are reaching an event horizon, a breaking point. Despite my cynicism, there is a part of me that knows I have to keep fighting. The stakes are just too high, higher then they’ve ever been. The human species is in serious trouble, facing a set of crises unlike anything we’ve ever faced before. Unless these covert forces are exposed, and ultimately eliminated, I don’t see how we can even begin to make the bold actions that we need to start making now - and I mean right fucking now! These covert forces are a root cause and driver, a cancer spreading through the system and planet.
As far as I can tell, you can’t change the system from within the intelligence community itself. This includes the Senate Intel Committee. If the urgently needed changes are ever to happen, it has to come from the US public. Now I know first hand how the American public has been conditioned to be apathetic and not get involved in politics and has been fed a steady diet of misinformation. But propaganda only works to the point where the population being propagandized is not feeling the direct impact and negative consequences on a personal level in their daily lives. That’s why the draft played a large role in bringing an end to Vietnam. We need another draft to push the mainstream over the edge and into action, but the façade is beginning to crack - 9/11 had some effect, the war in Iraq certainly, Katrina, massive job loses and an economic downturn that has really just begun have all factored into creating a critical mass. Even the most propagandized population in the history of civilization will have to act when their very survival and well-being is directly threatened and impacted. I just hope enough people will understand the need for bold decisive action now, before it’s too late.
So, to the people who have awareness of the problems facing us, if I could give advice, it would be this:
1. Try the Bush Administration for war crimes. If the case could ever be brought to court, the evidence to convict is definitely there. This is why the administration has been strongly against the International Criminal Court. If we are to begin repairing this country, and the world, we must begin by showing these power crazed and covert forces that they are accountable. If we can convict someone like Cheney, we will send a powerful message to the covert world. If we let them walk, we will keep having these problems. New people will follow them and take their place.
2. Investigate where all the military spending has been vanishing off to. There are literally trillions of taxpayer dollars unaccounted for. This money is fueling the covert world and terrorism in general. As part of this, I would include an investigation into war profiteering as well.
3. Make it mandatory that all electronic voting machines must have a 100% verifiable paper trail.
4. Get people into the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) who will smash the current media ownership rules. The concentration of media ownership is the foundation of the covert power structure. Without that, the whole thing is a house of cards. That’s why the FCC is currently trying to ram through rules that will further consolidate media ownership before the Bush administration leaves office. As part of this, it is pivotal that we protect the open architecture of the Internet. The media belongs to the people, as does the government, in theory anyway, but we need an information system that actually serves the public interest.
5. Declare a national and global emergency on the environmental front. We have already reached the breaking point. We need organized, governmental, policy driven, bold action now.
6. We need to address entities that now have power over the Constitution, such as the undemocratic and unelected corporate global governing structure - institutions like the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and “agreements” like NAFTA and DR-CAFTA, to name a few. Most Americans don’t even know what these power structures are, let alone that they have power that supersedes the Constitution. We must also address the National Security Act, that’s where the ultimate power of our country lies. The National Security Act has effectively made the Constitution meaningless and is the primary driver of the covert world. The PATRIOT Act and various other newly granted powers must also be drastically revised or eliminated completely in order to protect our civil liberties.
7. Lastly, we need to have publicly financed elections. As long as we have a system that requires candidates to raise tens of millions of dollars to even be considered for office, we will have politicians who bend over backwards for the richest one percent and the most powerful elements of society at the citizens’ expense. An important aspect of this has to be a requirement for large media companies to provide candidates with free airtime. Candidates have to spend the majority of their money on advertising in the mainstream media. That’s why the major news media spend so much time focusing on who is raising the most money, because they are the ones who end up with all that money. Once we have publicly financed elections and free airtime for candidates, we will get people in office who will work in the interests of the public because they are not beholden to the large and powerful entities. When you have politicians depending on the public instead of the private sector for survival, all the issues mentioned above could be addressed because they won’t have to fear the withdrawal of support from large corporations and the wealthy and powerful who do not want these things to happen. This will also enable us to eliminate tax breaks for the richest one percent, put an end to corporate welfare practices, and stop funding for obscene military and prison industrial companies that are profiting off of disasters and no longer serve security interests. Then we can redirect that money into environmental, education, health care and social security programs, to mention a few.
In the current political environment this may all sound like an unrealistic pipe dream, but these are the seven pivotal things that MUST happen. If all seven don’t happen within the next few years, we will have set the world on a disastrously irreversible course. This is “the unfortunate reality of our current situation.” It is not going to be easy, but you better start fighting for it now, while we still can.
It really does come down to us. You have to personally, in your daily life, do everything you can. With enough public pressure all of these things are achievable. Once we get a small portion of the population acting in this direction, it will quickly catch on and spread. Even though the overwhelming majority of the US population is incredibly propagandized on the surface, just underneath is the realization of the need for mass action. They just need leaders to point this out. The mainstream just needs a spark. Do what you can to set it off. It is a matter of unprecedented significance.

For my opening statement I am going to say some things that are obvious to those of us who spend the majority of our time researching and analyzing power politics. We have come to understand that the mainstream media is an elaborate and sophisticated propaganda apparatus that is designed and utilized to deceive, manipulate, dumb down, distract and marginalize the American public. We realize that the mainstream media is not giving us the vital information that we need to develop informed opinions and participate in this so-called “democracy.”
However, the average US citizen still does not understand this. They are too busy working hard trying to make ends meet, trying to provide for their families, trying to pay off their homes, credit cards and debt. They don’t have the time to spend hours everyday researching issues that the mainstream media doesn’t even mention or discuss.
In fact, with hundreds of television channels, radio stations, magazines, newspapers and movies, the average citizen thinks the amount of viewpoints in the media are overwhelming and diverse. They don’t realize that the vast majority of media companies are controlled by a handful of the world’s most powerful interrelated corporate interests. They don’t realize that over the past 25 years we have experienced a scandalous concentration in media ownership and an all out attack on public TV and radio.

The US has the lowest per capita funding of public broadcasting in the industrialized world.

The censorship most prevalent today is the most dangerous form. Not the censorship of explicit words, sex or violence, but the censorship of any thoughts outside of elite corporate ideology. The Imperial War
Since Cheney and Bush began their disastrous “War on Terror,” terrorism incidents have increased over 600%. The invasion and occupation of Iraq has created worldwide hatred toward America on an unprecedented scale. If we had a critical and informative media system, the Bush administration would have never been able to launch a war built on lies, distortion and misinformation - a war that has already claimed the lives of over 750,000 Iraqi civilians, and killed, wounded or maimed over 30,000 US soldiers. As costs continue to escalate, the war will cost the US taxpayer well over a trillion dollars - with billions of tax dollars stolen and unaccounted for!

For those of us who have researched and read the strategy papers that have driven the Bush administration’s foreign policy - all written before 9/11 - specifically the Strategy of the Silk Route, James Baker’s and the Council on Foreign Relations’ Strategic Energy Policy, the Project for a New American Century’s Forces and Resources For a New Century and other crucial documents, we know that these documents clearly demonstrate that the war on terror is mostly a front for a geo-strategic imperial war designed to control the majority of the earth’s remaining oil supply. And the fact that this subject is almost never seriously discussed in the mainstream press is an edifying example of just how scandalous the mass media system has become.
This imperial war for resources brings us to the next urgent crisis of our time, the current and coming environmental catastrophe.
Environmental Crisis
The earth’s resources are being quickly depleted. As the three billion people in China and India become more modernized and begin living and polluting like the modern US consumer, the earth’s resources and fragile balance will become undone. Billions of people, literally billions of people, will die - from the lack of food and water that will lead to mass starvation, to the lack of medicine for treatable diseases and the spread of infectious diseases.
Half of the world’s population now lives on $2 per day or less.
Global warming is quickly making these numbers grow and we are already facing a crisis unprecedented in human history. The past three years have been the hottest three years ever recorded. In the early nineties leading scientists and organizations tried to inform us. In 1992, long before Hurricane Katrina and Al Gore’s Inconvenient Truth, 1700 of the world’s top scientists signed an official document, a Warning To Humanity, stating:
“Human beings and the natural world are on a collision course. Human activities inflict harsh and often irreversible damage on the environment and on critical resources. If not checked, many of our current practices put at serious risk the future that we wish for human society and the plant and animal kingdoms, and may so alter the living world that it will be unable to sustain life in the manner that we know. Fundamental changes are urgent if we are to avoid the collision our present course will bring about.”
In 1997, the World Watch Institute reported that storms would be, “more frequent, more intense, and more destructive.” Yet these dire warnings went unheard. Paid-off energy industry experts and lobbyists marginalized them, and they were never given fair coverage in the mainstream corporate media — media companies that have shared economic interests with the energy industry that they serve.
If you thought the recent upsurge in catastrophic hurricanes, tornados, heat waves, droughts and other climatic disasters have been bad, you need to understand that this was only the opening act, only a warning shot as to what lies ahead.

Economic Crisis
The war and environmental crisis will only exacerbate the current economic inequalities that have been growing ever wider. Even in the US, which once prided itself as being a nation with a thriving middle-class, the financial wealth of the top 1% of households now exceeds the combined wealth of 98% of households. That’s 1% having more wealth than 98% combined! The US now leads the industrialized world in inequality of wealth.
Right now, the American middle-class is hanging by a thread. The average American is in more debt today than ever. Consumer and household debt are at unheard of levels.

The economic top 1% has looted the economy and enslaved the US public like never before. Out of the recent trillions of dollars in tax cuts more than half has gone to the economic top 1%. Tax cuts for top 1% are larger than health, education, and all other initiatives combined.
But this is just the beginning of the theft from the American middle-class. Our federal debt has reached an all time high. It is reported over and over again that the federal debt has reached a staggering eight trillion dollars. However, based upon the Financial Report of the United States, issued by the Treasury Department - a report the corrupt corporate media has suppressed and not reported on - the true total federal debt is actually over $50 trillion! $50 trillion! We are paying over $300 billion each year in interest alone. Your share of the federal debt, as a taxpaying American, is already $400,000. That’s your share! $400,000 out of your pocket and it is growing even higher.
Political Crisis
We can no longer rely on a co-opted, bought and paid for political system. Our current politicians have proven over and over again that they only make bold moves when they act in the power and greed-addicted interests that they serve. The two-party system has become a sham! Greedy Republicans and weak Democrats serve the same corporate elite masters.
Last year’s change in Congress and the coming change in president are only changes on the surface. The overwhelming majority of us will be relieved when Bush and Cheney finally leave office, but Bush is just a figurehead, just a spokesman, just a puppet on a string! He will eventually leave, but the underlying system and institutions will remain in place. Bush did not decide to go into Iraq alone, he had the support of almost every member of the Senate and an overwhelming majority in Congress. And most importantly, he had the vital support and backing of the mainstream corporate press who brazenly and uncritically trumpeted the call for this disaster. Bush is just the fall guy now, a patsy for the elite interests he serves. The press and Congress will bash him, as they rightfully should, and he will now take the blame, as he rightfully should. But when he leaves office things will only appear to be better.
Just look at the newly empowered Democratic Congress. Despite their rhetoric, they have been incredibly weak and inept in stopping the Iraq war and cleaning up congressional corruption and ethics rules. They continue to pass legislation that funds the war without any meaningful timetable for withdrawal and have officially endorsed the Bush/IMF plan to rob Iraq of their oil. And another significant and underreported fact is that none of the war funding bills have included a proposed provision that would have required the Bush administration to get congressional approval for an attack on Iran.
The Democratic Congress has even been cutting secret “trade” deals that mean billions in corporate handouts. The Republican Party is dominated by Neo-cons who believe in world domination by military force, and the Democratic Party is in the hands of Neo-liberals who believe in domination by economic force - leaving 98% of Americans without any representation.
Fighting Back: The Media War
These are just some of the serious problems now staring us in the face. It is imperative that we start getting these messages out to the mainstream and quickly swing into action. We must get our message through elite corporate censors who seek to maintain the status quo and only half-heartedly attempt half-measures. The time for half-measures is over! We must begin to take bold actions now.
We need to widen the scope of debate and expand the spectrum of thinkable thought. We have to create a culture of accountability and destroy the support systems that have led us toward devastation. We must destroy the propaganda system and dismantle the concentration of media ownership!

The power elite expend such great effort in controlling our communication and information system because they fear the American public more than any other enemy. They understand that if they lose their grip on our mass media, their lies and injustices will be exposed to the very people who can put a stop to their crimes!
The famed military strategist Carl von Clauswitz wrote in his study, On War, that the key to defeating an enemy is to identify and strike at “the hub of all power and movement, on which everything depends.”
The mass media is the foundation of the elite power structure. Without domination of the mass media the elite power structure is a house of cards.

Once the people can get their message through elite censors, the necessary evolution will occur. And thanks to the internet the tide has begun to swing back in our favor. The internet has given us a major weapon to battle these entrenched interests.
The internet is the one method of mass communication where you can research news and information for yourself, where you can use your own critical thinking and judgment skills, where voices are not censored through elite corporate interests.
The internet has been for us what pamphlets were to our forefathers; a new form of mass communication that is not censored by elite interests.
People are going to the internet and finding out all the information and facts that the corporate media is not letting the public in on. So, right there, you have a critical mass of informed and outraged citizens.

People are using the internet for organizing and movement building.
The corporate elite are well aware of this. They see an informed citizenship rising up. The elite do not want us getting together and discussing political issues. They want that to be something that the aristocracy decides, not you. That is why they are currently attacking the open architecture of the internet.

The bottom line is that we are at the most crucial and pivotal time in human history. The actions we take within the next few years are of vital historical importance. Every one of us, whether we realize it or not, or whether we want to be or not, is in a war, a war unlike any other.

Unless we evolve from passive, apathetic spectators into active participatory citizens and overthrow the corporate elite, we will eventually pay the ultimate price.

We are here to fight a war, an information war, a media war, a war for the survival and advancement of our species. However grandiose this may sound, it is the unfortunate reality of our current situation.
It is not a war that I want to fight, I wish I could ignore the power politics of the day, but I cannot, we cannot turn away from this crisis. When you see a major catastrophe heading your way you have to confront it and fight it with every tool at your disposal! Will you fight this war with us?

CHEMTRAILS: Is U.S. Gov't. Secretly Testing Americans 'Again'?

Could a strange substance found by an Ark-La-Tex man be part of secret government testing program? That's the question at the heart of a phenomenon called "Chemtrails." In a KSLA News 12 investigation, Reporter Jeff Ferrell shows us the results of testing we had done about what's in our skies.
"It seemed like some mornings it was just criss-crossing the whole sky. It was just like a giant checkerboard," described Bill Nichols. He snapped several photos of the strange clouds from his home in Stamps, in southwest Arkansas. Nichols said these unusual clouds begin as normal contrails from a jet engine. But unlike normal contrails, these do 'not' fade away.
Soon after a recent episode he saw particles in the air. "We'd see it drop to the ground in a haze," added Nichols. He then noticed the material collecting on the ground.
"This is water and stuff that I collected in bowls. I had it sitting out in my backyard in my dad's pick-up truck," said Nichols as he handed us a mason jar in the KSLA News 12 parking lot back in September after driving down from Arkansas.
KSLA News 12 had the sample tested at a lab. The results: A high level of barium, 6.8 parts per million, (ppm). That's more than three times the toxic level set by the Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA.
Armed with these lab results about the high levels of barium found in our sample, we decided to contact the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality. They told us that, 'yes,' these levels are very unusual. But at the same time they added the caveat that proving the source is a whole 'nother matter.
We discovered during our investigation that Barium is a hallmark of other chemtrail testing. This phenomenon even attracted the attention of a Los Angeles network affiliate, which aired a report entitled, "Toxic Sky?"
There's already no shortage of unclassified weather modification programs by the government. But those who fear chemtrails could be secret biological and chemical testing on the public point to the 1977 U.S. Senate hearings which confirmed 239 populated areas had been contaminated with biological agents between 1949 and 1969. Later, the 1994 Rockefeller Report concluded hundreds of thousands of military personnel were also subjected to secret biological experiments over the last 60-years.
But could secret testing be underway yet again? "I'd rather it be something inert and you know something that's not causing any damage but I'd like to know what it is," concluded Nichols.
KSLA News 12 discovered chemtrails are even mentioned by name in the initial draft of HR 2977 back in 2001, under the Space Preservation Act. But the military denies any such program exists.
It turns out, until just nine years ago the government had the right, under U.S. law, to conduct secret testing on the American public, under specific conditions. Only a public outcry repealed part of that law, with some "exceptions."
Mark Ryan, Director of the Poison Control Center, explained that short term exposure to barium can lead to anything from stomach to chest pains, with long-term exposure causing blood pressure problems.
Ryan addressed concerns by chemtrail researchers that barium could be meant to wear down a person's immune system. "Anything that causes ill effects on the body long-term, chronically, is going to affect your ability, it's just constantly working on the body. So from that aspect yeah it's a potential."
Ryan told us he's conducted research of his own about secret government testing on the public. But he's still a bit skeptical about chemtrails at the moment, especially considering that his Poison Control Center has seen no calls about barium exposure.

We Face Worldwide Drought with No Contingency Plan

Georgia's on my mind. Atlanta, Georgia. It's a city in trouble in a state in trouble in a region in trouble. Water trouble. Trouble big enough that the state government's moving fast. Just this week, backed up by a choir singing "Amazing Grace," accompanied by three Protestant ministers, and twenty demonstrators from the Atlanta Freethought Society, Sonny Perdue, Georgia's Baptist governor, led a crowd of hundreds in prayers for rain.
"We've come together here," he said, "simply for one reason and one reason only: To very reverently and respectfully pray up a storm." It seems, however, that the Almighty was otherwise occupied and the regional drought continued to threaten Atlanta, a metropolis of 5 million people (and growing fast), with the possibility that it might run out of water in as little as eighty days or as much as a year, if the rains don't come. Here's a little summary of the situation today:
Water rationing has hit the capital. Car washing and lawn watering are prohibited within city limits. Harvests in the region have dropped by 15 to 30 percent. By the end of summer, local reservoirs and dams were holding 5 percent of their capacity.
Oops, that's not Atlanta, or even the Southeastern US. That's Ankara, Turkey, hit by a fierce drought and high temperatures that also have had southern and southwestern Europe in their grip.
Sorry, let's try that again. Imagine this scenario:
Over the last decade, 15 to 20 percent decreases in precipitation have been recorded. These water losses have been accompanied by record temperatures and increasing wildfires in areas where populations have been growing rapidly. A fierce drought has settled in -- of the hundred-year variety. Lawns can be watered but just for a few hours a day (and only by bucket); four-minute showers are the max allowed. Car washes are gone, though you can clean absolutely essential car windows and mirrors by hand.
Sound familiar? As it happens, that's not the American Southeast either; that's a description of what's come to be called "The Big Dry" -- the unprecedented drought that has swept huge parts of Australia, the worst in at least a century on an already notoriously dry continent, but also part of the world's breadbasket, where crops are now failing regularly and farms closing down.
In fact, on my way along the parched path toward Atlanta, Georgia, I found myself taking any number of drought-stricken detours. There's Moldova. (If you're like me, odds are you don't even know where that small, former Soviet republic falls on a map.)
Like much of southern Europe, it experienced baking temperatures this summer, exceptionally low precipitation, sometimes far less than 50 percent of expected rainfall, failing crops and farms, and spreading wildfires. (The same was true, to one degree or another, of Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, and -- with its 100-year record scorching of Biblical proportions -- Greece which lost 10 percent of its forest cover in a month-long fiery apocalypse, leaving "large tracts of countryside...at risk of depopulation.")
Or how about Morocco, across the Mediterranean, which experienced 50 percent less rainfall than normal? Or the Canary Islands, those Spanish vacation spots in the Atlantic Ocean known to millions of visitors for their year-around mild climate which, this summer, morphed into 104-degree days, strong winds, and fierce wildfires. Eighty-six thousand acres were burnt to a crisp, engulfing some of the islands in flames and smoke that drove out thousands of tourists?
Or what about Mexico's Tehuacán Valley, where, thousands of years ago, corn was first domesticated as an agricultural crop. Even today, asking for "un Tehuacán" in a restaurant in Mexico still means getting the best bottled mineral water in the country. Unfortunately, the area hasn't had a good rain since 2003, and the ensuing drought conditions have made subsistence farming next to impossible, sending desperate locals northwards and across the border as illegal immigrants -- some into Southern California, itself just swept by monstrous Santa Ana-driven wildfires, fanned by prolonged drought conditions and fed tinder by new communities built deep into the wild lands where the fires gestate.
And Tehuacán is but one disaster zone in a growing Mexican catastrophe. As Mike Davis has written, "Abandoned ranchitos and near-ghost towns throughout Coahuila, Chihuahua and Sonora testify to the relentless succession of dry years -- beginning in the 1980s but assuming truly catastrophic intensity in the late 1990s -- that has pushed hundreds of thousands of poor rural people toward the sweatshops of Ciudad Juarez and the barrios of Los Angeles."
According to the How Dry I Am chart of "livability expert" Bert Sperling, four cities in Southern California, not parched Atlanta, top the national drought ratings: Los Angeles, San Diego, Oxnard, and Riverside. In addition, Pasadena has had the dubious honor, through September, of experiencing its driest year in history.

Andrew Buncombe and Daniel Howden, The Independent UK, report, "It has been unmistakable to the millions caught up in the biblical downpours that cut off an entire region of Mexico this year. Many Australians have been sufficiently convinced of it to change the way they vote. It has been obvious to the homeowners of middle England who have stood knee deep in their flooded sitting rooms. And it can't have escaped the notice of the millionaires on Malibu beach who have watched their luxury beach homes burn like matchsticks."

The rich have decided to opt out of global warming and its effects. That’s for the little people, as the following from the Wall Street Journal illustrates:
The American Southeast has been suffering from one of its worst droughts in years. But you wouldn’t know it from looking at the emerald-green estates of Palm Beach.
There, despite water restrictions and low reservoirs, lush lawns and verdant hedges line the Florida island’s biggest mansions, awaiting the start of the annual winter “season” after Thanksgiving.
Consider Nelson Peltz. The investor and food magnate’s oceanfront estate, called Montsorrel, is among the island’s biggest water consumers. His 13.8-acre spread, which combines two properties, used not quite 21 million gallons of water over the past 12 months–or about 57,000 gallons a day on average–at a cost of more than $50,000, according to records obtained from the local water utility.
The paper has calculated that the average little person’s use is 54,000 gallons per year. Hence Peltz uses 352 times as many gallons of water as the wee people do. But isn’t that fair, considering that he makes at least 352 times as much money as the rest of us?
In Atlanta, where drought conditions are yet more critical than in Florida, there were reports of other richies sloshing in H20 as ordinary people watched their gardens dry up. One man in Atlanta, living alone in his mansion, where there are seven bathrooms, was recorded as using sixty times more water than his neighbors–this in a city that could run out of drinking water in three or four months.
The authorities, ever deferential to those who have too much already, are not inclined to make an example of such people. Yet the rich are held up to us as having achieved that ever more hackneyed American Dream, as the people we ought to emulate. If it ends up that they are the only people who have drinking water, not to mention full swimming pools, we ought to emulate ‘em, and after we have finished emulatin’ ‘em, somebody go fetch a rope.
In any sane society Peltz would be charged a dollar for every gallon over 54,000, the average usage, which would work to a fine of more than $20 million. With guys like Peltz, even that sum may not be enough to get him to turn off the tap when he’s finished shaving.
Peltz’s behavior provides a clue to why the months and years pass by and nothing is done to save our environmental future from any number of not-yet-understood catastrophes. The rich have simply opted out. Obviously, they figure that with their corps of guards and gardeners, they will continue to have their own private environment–and, such being the case, there is certainly no reason to put restrictions on destructive practices.
Apparently, without their say-so we are not to do much of anything to save ourselves. Not only do they control the government on these matters but every time a proposal is made, they say no, it’s bad for the economy, and if you go ahead with it we’ll take your jobs away. Great. If we try to protect ourselves, our livelihoods are gone; if we don’t, our children’s lives are gone.
As we ponder that predicament, the American Meteorological Society is having kittens over the new 2007 data on the arctic and Greenland ice and glacier melts. The new numbers are worse than the models predicted, and the climatologists would be in a state of shock if they were given to such reactions.
Is Al Gore the only prominent, wealthy person on this planet to yowl, scream, shout and ring the tocsins of alarm? Yes, probably. The slogan of the hour is “Don’t do something, just stand there.”
It's time again for the annual 'Stella Awards'! For those unfamiliar with these awards, they are named after 81-year-old Stella Liebeck who spilled hot coffee on herself and successfully sued the McDonald's in New Mexico where she purchased the coffee. You remember, she took the lid off the coffee and put it between her knees while she was driving. Who would ever think one could get
burned doing that, right?
That's right; these are awards for the most outlandish lawsuits and verdicts in the U.S. You know, the kinds of cases that make you scratch your head. So keep your head scratcher handy.
Here are the Stella's for the past year:
7TH PLACE:
Kathleen Robertson of Austin, Texas was awarded $80,000 by a jury of her peers after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddler who was running inside a furniture store. The store owners were understandably surprised by the verdict, considering the running toddler was her own son.
6TH PLACE:
Carl Truman, 19, of Los Angeles, California won $74,000 plus medical expenses when his neighbor ran over his hand with a Honda Accord. Truman apparently didn't notice there was someone at the wheel of the car when he was trying to steal his neighbor's hubcaps.
Go ahead, grab your head scratcher.
5TH PLACE:
Terrence Dickson, of Bristol, Pennsylvania, who was leaving a house he had just burglarized by way of the garage. Unfortunately for Dickson, the automatic garage door opener malfunctioned and he could not get the garage door to open. Worse, he couldn't re-enter the house because the door connecting the garage to the house locked when Dickson pulled it shut. Forced to sit for eight, count 'em, EIGHT, days on a case of Pepsi and a large bag of dry dog food, he sued the homeowner's insurance company claiming undue
mental Anguish.
Amazingly, the jury said the insurance company must pay Dickson $500,000 for his anguish. We should all have this kind of anguish.

4TH PLACE:
Jerry Williams, of Little Rock , Arkansas , garnered 4th Place in the Stella's when he was awarded $14,500 plus medical expenses after being bitten on the butt by his next door neighbor's beagle - even though the beagle was on a chain in its owner's fenced yard. Williams did not get as much as he asked for because the jury believed the beagle might have been provoked at the time of the butt bite because Williams had climbed over the fence into the yard and repeatedly shot the dog with a pellet gun.
Grrrrr ... Scratch, scratch.
3RD PLACE:
Amber Carson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania because a jury ordered a Philadelphia restaurant to pay her $113,500 after she slipped on a spilled soft drink and broke her tailbone. The reason the soft drink was on the floor: Ms. Carson had thrown it at her boyfriend 30 seconds earlier during an argument. What ever happened to people being responsible for their own actions?
Scratch, scratch, scratch. Hang in there; there are only two more Stella’s to go...
2ND PLACE:
Kara Walton, of Claymont, Delaware sued the owner of a night club in a nearby city because she fell from the bathroom window to the floor, knocking out her two front teeth. Even though Ms. Walton was trying to sneak through the ladies room window to avoid paying the $3.50 cover charge, the jury said the night club had to pay her $12,000....oh, yeah, plus dental expenses. Go figure.
1ST PLACE: (May I have a fanfare played on 50 kazoos please)
This year's runaway First Place Stella Award winner was Mrs. Merv Grazinski, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, who purchased a new 32-foot Winnebago motor home. On her first trip home, from an OU football game, having driven on to the freeway, she set the cruise control at 70 mph and calmly left the driver's seat to go to the back of the Winnebago to make herself a sandwich. Not surprisingly, the motor home left the freeway, crashed and overturned. Also not surprisingly, Mrs. Grazinski sued Winnebago for not putting in the owner's manual that she couldn't actually leave the driver's seat while the cruise control was set. The Oklahoma jury awarded her, are you sitting down, $1,750,000 PLUS a new motor home. Winnebago actually changed their manuals as a result of this suit, just incase Mrs. Grazinski has any relatives who might also buy a motor home.
