The Moment of Truth Series #9: Crunch Time in Heaven and on Earth

Hello everysoul!

There is something I want you all to watch as soon as you can, and most preferably at a time you are in no rush, and able to enjoy a most magnificent experience. If you feel so inspired, I also recommend you watch this video prior to joining into the Fire The Grid global alignment with Divine Will next Tuesday. It should perfectly set the tone for this one hour heart-to-heart/soul-to-soul synchronization of blissful, loving oneness...

The Wave of Love ( 4 min 21 sec)
The Journey of awakening to our full soul potential - A movie about awakening humanity and hence the collective consciousness to a blissful state of simply BEing LOVE.

(There is a most interesting - and possibly not coincidental - relationship between imagery in this video above and this new celestial glyph...)

And then, when you are in a mood for stepping up your political action to free the world from the oppression of the fiendish Bush/Cheney/lluminati regime of terror, watch this amazing woman - Dr. Dahlia Wasfi - express the truth with an absolutely soul-stirring vigor... and then visit her website at (when many more videos are available)

Dr. Dahlia Wasfi - Life in Iraq Under U.S. Occupation - Must Watch Video (16 min 16 sec)
Shortages; lack of electricity; potable water; tanks rolling through the streets night and day; gunfire and explosions. Iraqi health care in shambles. 200 bodies turn up daily in the Baghdad morgue. For Iraqis, it's 9/11 every day.

I could go on and continue recommending you many more uplifting or revealing videos and articles, which is anyway what the rest of this compilation and what I've been doing for 10 years is all about. Let's just say that these 2 above really struck a chord within me.

Should any of this resonate with you as well, please do not hesitate to recommend it to others. It is our individual responsibility at this crucial time of our evolutionary awakening to help each other towards full remembrance and complete reassertion of our innate divine powers and goodness.

"The Earth is a blue ball covered with a very thin layer of lacquer, within which the air, water and living beings exist. This fragile layer is all we have. It is our only home - and we owe it to our children and our children's children to protect it."

— Al Gore - As stated during the Live Earth global event

"The alliance between Israel and the United States has culminated after 50 years in direct U.S. military involvement in the Middle East. This involvement, which is not furthering American interests, is unleashing a geopolitical nightmare. American soldiers and Marines are dying in droves in a useless war. The impotence of the United States in the face of Israeli pressure is complete. The White House and the Congress have become, for perhaps the first time, a direct extension of Israeli interests. There is no longer any debate within the United States. This is evidenced by the obsequious nods to Israel by all the current presidential candidates with the exception of Dennis Kucinich. The political cost for those who challenge Israel is too high. This means there will be no peaceful resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. It means the incidents of Islamic terrorism against the U.S. and Israel will grow. It means that American power and prestige are on a steep, irreversible decline. And I fear it also means the ultimate end of the Jewish experiment in the Middle East."

— Chris Hedges - Taken from A Declaration of Independence from Israel below

"The longer BushCo are in office the less chance we have of recovering the heart and soul of our nation, saving our soldiers and the people of Iraq and Afghanistan, and saving the planet from corporate and individual waste and pollution. Impeachment, removal from office, and in a perfect world: incarceration for the criminals against humanity, are urgent and necessary steps that need to be taken today."

— Cindy Sheehan -- Taken from Summer of Love: On a Journey for Humanity (July 5, 2007)

"I am urging all who are unaware to read about this window of opportunity to join a dynamic worldwide throng whose energy outreach will blend with the in-surging light. The remarkable story of a young woman and her little son that led to her receiving organizing instructions for this unique global effort is at, and I hope you will feel inspired to read it. But briefly, Tuesday, July 17th, starting at 11:11 a.m. Greenwich time, an off-planet energy surge will activate the light grid surrounding Earth, and as your collective light mingles with that incoming energy, the unprecedented light intensity not only will "fire the grid" as Earth rotates throughout your day, but it will be anchored within selves and your planet. Each soul participating will spend one hour in contemplative BEing. This can be whatever is most comfortable and familiar to you—meditation; prayer; envisioning Earth in golden white light; focusing on peace, harmony and cooperation among all humankind; feeling gratitude for life's blessings and the natural beauty of your homeland planet; listening to quiet inspirational music; feeling connected with God and all other life throughout the universe; or any combination of those or whatever else fills your heart with light and your mind with peacefulness. The healing love energy of lighted souls throughout the universe will be with you throughout that time of major importance in the transformation of your world."

As part of THE GREEN, Sundance Channel presents a series of documentary films focusing on timely and pressing environmental issues of the day. After the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and the 2004 Asian Tsunami, global disaster experts are seriously investigating other possible natural disaster scenarios triggered by climate change. This British documentary from Stephen McQuillan and Sophie Todd considers five locations of concern — including Shanghai and Mumbai, which are particularly vulnerable to monsoons and rising sea levels, and the Pacific island nation of Tuvalu, where the sea is slowly swallowing habitable land - and offers some constructive solutions.

Pirates of the Constitution - MUST SEE!!

STRIKE THE ROOT! (July 5, 2007)
(...) The U.S. Constitution is the greatest perception of Liberty ever conceived. It was hammered out by men determined to prevent imperial presidencies, shadow governments and seizures of power by any one branch. It was conceived precisely to thwart efforts to destroy the republic by those whose only allegiance is to power and money. We must rid ourselves of the traitors in our midst, starting with Dick Cheney, the one man responsible for the corruption threatening our downfall. If we are to survive, we must strike the root.

'Out of the blue': Do Aliens Exist? (July 6, 2007)
It's an age-old question: Are we alone in the universe? As the documentary "Out of the Blue" rightly points out, brilliant and reputable scientists believe that the conditions for intelligent life exist on thousands of planets. But then there's that other question that separates the scientists from the believers, the witnesses from the skeptics — if aliens are out there, have they come to visit? James Fox, the producer of "Out of the Blue," says that aliens are out there. "They're flying around. They're here and they've been here." He also believes that they have incredible technical ability, saying that they can "fly rings around our fastest jets. Yes. That's what I've been told. They can literally almost disappear in place." "Out of the Blue" is an attempt to weed out the wackos and present credible witnesses who say they saw what looked like alien spacecraft. Witnesses like former President Carter, who said, "I saw one, but I don't know where. It just disappeared." And Mercury astronaut Gordon Cooper, who says he saw "this typical saucer shape, double-cylindrical shape, metallic." CLIP - (with 2 videos)

White House to Tell Miers to Ignore Senate Subpoena - IMMINENT "WATERGATE-TYPE" SHOWDOWN?
The White House intends to instruct a former aide to Karl Rove and former White House counsel Harriet Miers, both of whom are scheduled to testify before a Senate committee next week about their roles in the firings of US attorneys last year, not to comply with the panel's subpoena, reports Peter Baker in Sunday's Washington Post.

Overprivileged Executive
The New York Times writes: "Mr. Gonzales and his aides have twisted and mutilated the truth beyond recognition. Congress and the American public need to know all that has gone on at the Justice Department ... Ms. Taylor is scheduled to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee today, and Ms. Miers before the House committee tomorrow. They are expected to claim executive privilege. If they do, Congress should use the powers at its disposal, including holding them in contempt, to compel their testimony."

Mike Soraghan and Jackie Kucinich writing for The Hill report, "House Democrats are planning a series of votes this month on Iraq that they hope will ratchet up pressure on the White House and Congressional Republicans to change course on the unpopular war or suffer political consequences."

Sheehan Considers Challenge to Pelosi (July 8)
CRAWFORD, Texas - Cindy Sheehan, the soldier's mother who galvanized the anti-war movement, said Sunday that she plans to run against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unless she introduces articles of impeachment against President Bush in the next two weeks.

The New York Times : The Road Home
More than four years after The New York Times published a series of news stories that arguably helped pave the way toward a US led invasion of Iraq, the country's newspaper of record, in a sobering Sunday editorial, has called for an end to the Iraq war. In stating its position, the Times editorial says, "President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney have used demagoguery and fear to quell Americans' demands for an end to this war. They say withdrawing will create bloodshed and chaos and encourage terrorists. Actually, all of that has already happened - the result of this unnecessary invasion and the incompetent management of this war. It is time for the United States to leave Iraq, without any more delay than the Pentagon needs to organize an orderly exit."

Report: Wars Costing $12 Billion a Month
The Associated Press's Andrew Taylor writes, "The boost in troop levels in Iraq has increased the cost of war there and in Afghanistan to $12 billion a month, and the total for Iraq alone is nearing a half-trillion dollars, Congressional analysts say."

Iraq war costs could top $1.4 trillion
According to a new report by the non-partisan Congressional Research Service, "in the first half of this fiscal year, the Defense Department's "average monthly obligations for contracts and pay is running about $12 billion per month, well above the $8.7 billion in FY2006."

House of War: The Pentagon, a History of Unbridled Power by ">James Carroll
From the National Book Award-winning author of An American Requiem and Constantine's Sword comes a sweeping yet intimate look at the Pentagon and its vast — often hidden — impact on America. This landmark, myth-shattering work chronicles the most powerful institution in America, the people who created it, and the pathologies it has spawned. James Carroll proves a controversial thesis: the Pentagon has, since its founding, operated beyond the control of any force in government or society. It is the biggest, loosest cannon in American history, and no institution has changed this country more. To argue his case, he marshals a trove of often chilling evidence. He recounts how the Building and its denizens achieved what Eisenhower called a disastrous rise of misplaced power ˜ from the unprecedented aerial bombing of Germany and Japan during World War II to the shock and awe of Iraq. He charts the colossal U.S. nuclear buildup, which far outpaced that of the USSR, and has outlived it. He reveals how consistently the Building has found new enemies just as old threats ˜ and funding ˜ evaporate. He demonstrates how Pentagon policy brought about U.S. indifference to an epidemic of genocide during the 1990s. And he shows how the forces that attacked the Pentagon on 9/11 were set in motion exactly sixty years earlier, on September 11, 1941, when ground was broken for the house of war. Carroll draws on rich personal experience (his father was a top Pentagon official for more than twenty years) as well as exhaustive research and dozens of extensive interviews with Washington insiders. The result is a grand yet intimate work of history, unashamedly polemical and personal but unerringly factual. With a breadth and focus that no other book could muster, it explains what America has become over the past sixty years.

How the Pentagon Came to Own the Earth, Seas and Skies
Nick Turse writing for says: "The DOD's 'real property portfolio,' according to 2006 figures, consists of a total of 3,731 sites. Over 20 percent of these sites are located on more than 711,000 acres outside of the US and its territories. Yet even these numbers turn out to be a drastic undercount. For example, while a 2005 Pentagon report listed US military sites from Antigua and Hong Kong to Kenya and Peru, some countries with significant numbers of US bases go entirely unmentioned - Afghanistan and Iraq, for example."

Bush's Pakistan Paradox
Robert Scheer writing for says: "As Iraq continues to disintegrate, and our top generals and in-country ambassador predict that US troops will need to die there for decades in order to prevent a full-scale regional blood bath, it is important to recall the reasons why we got into this mess. The marker of what will go down in history as 'Bush's folly' is that this idiot of a president invaded a country that had absolutely nothing to do with terrorist attacks on the United States or WMD threats to America while coddling the military junta in Pakistan, which was guilty on both counts."

Private contractors outnumber U.S. troops in Iraq (July 4, 2007),0,5808980.story?coll=la-home-center
New U.S. data show how heavily the Bush administration has relied on corporations to carry out the occupation of the war-torn nation. The number of U.S.-paid private contractors in Iraq now exceeds that of American combat troops, newly released figures show, raising fresh questions about the privatization of the war effort and the government's capacity to carry out military and rebuilding campaigns.More than 180,000 civilians — including Americans, foreigners and Iraqis — are working in Iraq under U.S. contracts, according to State and Defense department figures obtained by the Los Angeles Times. Including the recent troop buildup, 160,000 soldiers and a few thousand civilian government employees are stationed in Iraq. The total number of private contractors, far higher than previously reported, shows how heavily the Bush administration has relied on corporations to carry out the occupation of Iraq — a mission criticized as being undermanned."These numbers are big," said Peter Singer, a Brookings Institution scholar who has written on military contracting. "They illustrate better than anything that we went in without enough troops. This is not the coalition of the willing. It's the coalition of the billing."The numbers include at least 21,000 Americans, 43,000 foreign contractors and about 118,000 Iraqis — all employed in Iraq by U.S. tax dollars, according to the most recent government data. Iraqi Oil Workers Union Founder: US-Backed Oil Law Is "Robbery"
In the wake of the Iraqi cabinet's approval of part of a controversial oil law, Amy Goodman of Democracy Now! interviews Faleh Abood Umara, general secretary of the Federation of Oil Unions and a founding member of the oil workers union in Iraq, and Hashmeya Muhsin Hussein, president of the Electrical Utility Workers Union and the first woman to head a national union in Iraq.

Top IEA official: without Iraqi oil, we hit the wall in 2015 (June 28, 2007)
In a stunning interview for the French (reference) daily Le Monde, Fatih Birol, the chief economist of the International Energy Agency (i.e. the intergovernmental body created after the oil shocks of the 70s to coordinate the West's reaction to energy crises) effectively says that peak oil is just around the corner, and that without Iraqi oil, we'll be in deep trouble by 2015. The whole interview is amazingly frank and free of diplomatic obfuscation. He blasts biofuels ("not based on any kind of economic rationality"), he notes that Africa is suffering the most already from expensive oil, he points out that even a slowing of China's growth will not reduce oil demand, and he talks pretty explicitly about production peaks and depletion. (...) Turning to the war in Iraq, Moore accused Gupta, who spent time embedded with US troops in Iraq, and the mainstream media at large of refusing "to ask our leaders the hard questions, and demand the honest answers." Moore laid the blame for the continued US involvement in the war in Iraq at the feet of the media, arguing that they failed to do their jobs and question the Bush war policy. CLIP

Abusing Iraqi Civilians
Bob Herbert of The New York Times writes: "With no end yet in sight for the long dark night of the Iraq war, The Nation magazine is coming out this week with an article that goes into great and disturbing detail about the brutal treatment of Iraqi civilians by some US soldiers and marines. Based on interviews conducted on the record with dozens of American combat veterans of the war, the authors address what they describe as frequent acts of violence in which US forces have abused or killed Iraqi civilians - men, women and children - with impunity." Iraq Comes Home: Soldiers Share the Devastating Tales of War (July 4, 2007)
Statistics are one way to tell the story of the approximately 1.4 million servicemen and women who've been to Iraq and Afghanistan. According to a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2004, 86 percent of soldiers in Iraq reported knowing someone who was seriously injured or killed there. Some 77 percent reported shooting at the enemy; 75 percent reported seeing women or children in imminent peril and being unable to help. Fifty-one percent reported handling or uncovering human remains; 28 percent were responsible for the death of a noncombatant. One in five Iraq veterans return home seriously impaired by post-traumatic stress disorder. Words are another way. Below are the stories of three veterans of this war, told in their voices, edited for flow and efficiency but otherwise unchanged. They bear out the statistics and suggest that even those who are not diagnosably impaired return burdened by experiences they can neither forget nor integrate into their postwar lives. CLIP

Slaughtering the innocent: Afghan Elders, Villagers Report 133 Civilians Killed
Afghan elders claimed Saturday 108 civilians were killed in a bombing campaign in western occupied Afghanistan, while villagers in the northeast said 25 Afghans died in airstrikes, including some killed while burying dead relatives at a cemetery.

"Accidents" of War
Tom Engelhardt reports in "From time to time ... another version of what happened when air strikes were called in on the rural areas of Afghanistan, or on heavily populated neighborhoods in Iraq's cities and towns, filtered out. In this story, noncombatants died, often in sizable numbers. In the last few weeks 'incidents' like this have been reported with enough regularity in Afghanistan to become a modest story in their own right."

US Sends 3rd Aircraft Carrier to Gulf (10 July 2007)
The US aircraft carrier Enterprise has been deployed to a strategic area that includes waters close to Iran. The warship joins two carriers already in the Fifth Fleet area of operations and strengthens the US Navy's biggest presence in the Gulf since the first Iraq invasion. 'Enterprise provides navy power to counter the assertive, disruptive and coercive behaviour of some countries, as well as support our soldiers and marines in Iraq and Afghanistan,' a US Navy statement said. In May, a flotilla of US warships sailed through the narrowest point in the Gulf to hold exercises off Iran's coast in a major show of force. Tension over Tehran's nuclear ambitions has raised regional fears of a military confrontation, although one Navy spokeswoman insists Iran is not a specific target. CLIP

Joe Wilson: Administration is "Corrupt to the Core"
Keith Olbermann interviews Former Ambassador Joseph Wilson, husband of outed CIA operative Valerie Plame, regarding Bush's decision to commute the prison sentence of Lewis "Scooter" Libby. Appearing in an audio interview on MSNBC's "Countdown," Wilson called the move the latest evidence that the administration is "corrupt to the core." He added that it meant that the president was now participating in the "obstruction of justice." Wilson called on both the president and Libby's former boss, Vice President Cheney, to "come clean" on their roles in the leaking of his wife's name, now that Libby has been spared prison. He called the leaking of the name "treasonous." Asked by host Keith Olbermann if there was a "quid pro quo" - Libby would remain silent about crucial details of Cheney's role in the case in exchange for a pardon or commutation - Wilson answered, "absolutely." Libby was convicted of several counts of perjury and obstruction of justice. Wilson warned that the message of the commutation might lead to fewer people being willing to risk their lives as covert CIA operatives. He vowed to continue the civil suit with the aim of getting Cheney and Libby on the stand. And he called on Americans to protest the move by contacting members of Congress. Democratic leaders quickly condemned the Bush act.

Senate Panel Cuts off Funds to Cheney
Andrew Taylor of the Associated Press reports, "A Senate appropriations panel chaired by Senator Richard Durbin (D-Ill.) refused to fund $4.8 million in the vice president's budget until Cheney's office complies with parts of an executive order governing its handling of classified information."

Was Commuting Libby an Impeachable Offense?
"Let me get this straight," says William Rivers Pitt. "Like a thief in the night, George W. Bush commuted the prison sentence of I. Lewis 'Scooter' Libby. He made no public appearance to announce the decision, but instead air-mailed a written statement after 5 p.m. at the outset of a midweek holiday."

Why Bush Gave Scooter Libby a Pass
Michael Isikoff, reporting for Newsweek writes: "Bush may have stopped short of a full pardon precisely to keep Libby and other White House aides away from Democrats on Capitol Hill. Investigators in Congress are eager to call Libby to testify about the Plame case and prewar Iraq intel - an invitation Libby can continue to resist by claiming he can't talk as long as his appeal remains alive in the courts."

Libby a long-time Israeli intelligence agent (July 3, 2007)
I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby has been a long-serving intelligence agent for Israel's Mossad, according to a veteran CIA "official cover" officer who spoke to WMR on deep background. The CIA's Clandestine Service has, over the years, gathered a tremendous amount of intelligence on Libby's activities on behalf of Mossad.Libby served as the lawyer for Switzerland-based American fugitive financier Marc Rich, aka Mark David Reich, who is also known to be an Israeli intelligence asset and someone Israel relies upon for missions that demand "plausible deniability" on the part of the Mossad. Canada’s role in DU took center stage at the 9/11 Truth Conference (06/28/07)
Canada: Afghanistan competes as uranium supplier - Canada's role as the world's major source of uranium took center stage at the 9/11 Truth Conference in Vancouver June 22-24. Speakers pointed out the health risk to Canadians of depleted uranium (DU), the illegal use of DU in military target practice, and its role in causing human disease. They emphasized that under international law, DU, a weapon of mass destruction, is illegal. Canada was identified as sending 60 percent of its uranium to the United States, with most DU used by the U.S. in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Balkans being Canadian in origin. Afghanistan and Kazakhstan have recently been shown to harbor vast uranium deposits with the latter set to become the world's top supplier by 2020, according to In the case of Afghanistan, that may explain why the British ambassador there recently called his country's commitment there "a marathon rather than a sprint — we should be thinking in terms of decades."

A senior French politician, now a minister in President Nicolas Sarkozy's government, suggested last year that U.S. President George W. Bush might have been behind the September 11, 2001 attacks, according to a website. The website, which promotes September 11 conspiracy theories, has posted a video clip of French Housing Minister Christine Boutin appearing to question that Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda group orchestrated the attacks. Boutin's office sought to play down the remarks.Asked in an interview last November, before she became minister, whether she thought Bush might be behind the attacks, Boutin says: "I think it is possible. I think it is possible."Boutin backs her assertion by pointing to the large number of people who visit websites that challenge the official line over the September 11 strikes against U.S. cities."I know that the websites that speak of this problem are websites that have the highest number of visits ... And I tell myself that this expression of the masses and of the people cannot be without any truth." (...) North American union plan headed to Congress in fall
Powerful think tank prepares report on benefits of integration between U.S., Mexico, Canada

New battery packs powerful punch
Batteries have long been vital to laptops and cellphones. They are increasingly supplying electricity to an unlikely recipient: the power grid itself. Until recently, large amounts of electricity could not be efficiently stored. Thus, when you turn on the living-room light, power is instantly drawn from a generator. A new type of a room-size battery, however, may be poised to store energy for the nation's vast electric grid almost as easily as a reservoir stockpiles water, transforming the way power is delivered to homes and businesses. Compared with other utility-scale batteries plagued by limited life spans or unwieldy bulk, the sodium-sulfur battery is compact, long-lasting and efficient. Using so-called NaS batteries, utilities could defer for years, and possibly even avoid, construction of new transmission lines, substations and power plants, says analyst Stow Walker of Cambridge Energy Research Associates. They make wind power — wildly popular but frustratingly intermittent — a more reliable resource. And they provide backup power in case of outages, such as the one that hit New York City last week. Such benefits are critical, because power demand is projected to soar 50% by 2030 and other methods of expanding the power supply are facing growing obstacles. Congress is likely to cap carbon dioxide emissions by traditional power plants to curtail global warming. The Summer of Spiritual Love 2007

by Owen Waters

Forty-year cycles are highly significant in human affairs. It was forty years ago, in 1967, that the Summer of Love erupted in San Francisco and inspired young seekers around the world to realize that there is a better, more loving way to be a human upon this planet.

Forty years later, the world is due for an outpouring of love in the summer of 2007, but it will become much more than it ever was in 1967. This time, it will reflect forty years of the maturing of the original idea. We have transformed from the earlier, seeking idealists to people who are beginning to understand how to focus and direct spiritual energy in order to make a real difference on this planet.

In 1967, young people wanted to change the world for the better. In 2007, we’re still here; but, the difference is, now we know how to achieve it! In fact, today, millions of people are spiritually equipped to perform a mass planetary healing by directing their spiritual love energy through focused intent.

On the 17th of July, 2007, hundreds of thousands of light workers around the world will join together for one hour to focus upon healing the Earth and mankind’s relationship to the planet. This event is called “Fire the Grid,” because its main focus is to heal and strengthen the human grid of consciousness that exists around this planet.

Every species of life on the planet has its own grid of consciousness. Whales and dolphins, being consciously telepathic, are fully aware of their grid. Other animals, such as monkeys, have been observed to enact a “Hundredth Monkey Effect,” where new ideas are communicated telepathically to other monkeys without any physical contact. Humanity’s mind belt, or grid, has been generally ignored by the waking consciousness of humanity for thousands of years. Access to the human grid has been relegated to the subconscious mind so that people could ignore their connectedness and play-act at pretending that they are separate from their brothers and sisters.

Today, with the upcoming, massive “Fire the Grid” celebration, we face a sudden revival of human connectedness. This event, which was inspired by light-beings after one woman’s near-death experience, has been promoted by word of mouth recommendation within spiritual communities around the world for the past two years. Today, the event’s web site,, has grown to be available in 14 languages!

“Fire the Grid” is shaping up to become a perfect storm of spiritual revival – something which, when taken together, is far more powerful than the sum of its individual components. The way that “Fire the Grid” is being promoted by today’s spiritual leaders is a sure indication that we are approaching such a perfect storm and the next noticeable shift in human consciousness.

The one-hour “Fire the Grid” event will begin at 11:11 am Greenwich Mean Time on Tuesday, 17th July, 2007. In British Summer Time, using the 24-hour clock, that’s 12:11 hours. For people in New York, it’s 7:11 am. In Sydney, Australia it’s 9:11 pm (or 21:11 hours) on July 17th, and two hours later than that in New Zealand.

For people in California, the perfect cosmic hour starts at 4:11 am. Yes, 4:11 am! This is truly a chance to do something very different at four in the morning. Let’s face it - the atmosphere will be so alive with special energy that morning, you won’t be able to sleep anyway! And, bear in mind that the most creative time of each day is from 3 am to 5 am local time, so 4 am is really the perfect time to get up and heal the world on that day! My wife, Dreama, and I will be in California at the time, setting our alarm clock along with the rest of you on the West Coast.

Become a part of this potent and global transformation. Join in the biggest light party ever! When people around the world join together at the same time and Fire the Grid for one hour, they will be united in their souls, sharing love, peace, and harmony to create a better world for the people of Earth, today and in the future.

The organizers at are asking participants to allow the healing power of the cosmos to flow freely through them and into the center of the Earth. Then, see this energy of healing love come out into the atmosphere around the planet and fire the grid of human consciousness.

This event provides a golden opportunity to become a part of, and to cause, a massive shift in consciousness.

Once, I heard about a man who, in 1969, had the chance to go to the Woodstock festival of peace and music. Instead, he chose to attend a small, weekend spiritual retreat and missed the big, history-making event. Knowing what he knows now about what a pivotal event Woodstock was in the heart and mind of humanity, he sadly regrets not having been a part of that memorable event.

Another pivotal event in the heart and mind of humanity is coming up on July 17th, 2007. You want to be a part of this golden opportunity. Your friends want to be a part of this golden opportunity. Let them know. Share this article with your friends.

This is the Summer of Spiritual Love, and with the focused intention of all of us, July 17th, 2007 is the day that the world transforms into a better place through the healing power of humanity’s awakened conscious connection.

Next week’s article will reveal a powerful technique to help you to create a world filled with spiritual peace, freedom and creativity. When spiritual seekers are looking for effective ways to change the world and they discover this technique, they are astounded at how they are suddenly transformed into beacons of energy for world healing. This technique will be released, in full detail, in time to help you in your “Fire the Grid” celebration.

Fire The Grid - Global Earthgrid Activation July 17, 2007 at 11:11 GMT

By Nick Anthony Fiorenza

This web page presents the world-wide "Astronomical Earthgrid Spacetime Mapping" for "Fire the Grid. It reveals the extra-active locations on the Earth where portals in consciousness open as well as their tie-ins. Also presented is the astronomical star-level sidereal astrology surrounding this Venus-Crescent Moon event.
"Fire the Grid," is a one hour Global Meditation / Prayer international event initiated by Shelley Yates. See Shelley's web site presenting this event at:

Creating Earthgrid Harmony

The Global Astronomical Earthgrid Spacetime map section below reveals more about Fire the Grid, and provides a link to a large map and a list of significantly active locations world wide.

Evolutionary Intelligence translates into Earth's energy grid catalyzing a natural and progressive unfoldment of human consciousness through a dynamic geometry created by Earth's daily rotation in the spherical geometry created by Earth's precessional cycle, which governs the "Evolutionary Cycle of the Soul" on Earth.
The Earthgrid is not merely a static geometry of energy lines, portals, sacred sites, or places of power, but is a dynamic, interactive system that awakens over time, in a "Earthgrid Activation Sequence."

The evolutionary unfoldment of human consciousness is inseparable from the natural Astronomical Earthgrid Activation Sequence--it is one interactive, intelligently ordered, evolutionary system. We can deliberately participate with the Earthgrid activation process to significantly contribute to the establishment of a Love-based Earthgrid resonance--one supportive to a harmonious evolutionary transition. In fact, it is our global responsibility, as stewards of the Earth, to tip the scales to create an overall grid-resonance of LOVE--rather than allowing one of FEAR to perpetuate.

When we honor that human consciousness is a resonant shell around the Earth that contributes significantly to the overall harmony or disharmony of the Earthgrid, to "Earth's harmonic signature," it becomes easy to acknowledge that we have an intimate role in determining the nature and extent of our evolutionary outcome. If we are discordant with the natural resonances of the Earth and her cycles and are resistant to integrate the very energy resonances supportive to our own evolutionary unfoldment and fulfillment, we essentially isolate ourselves from life itself. As we do, we atrophy, crystallize and eventually, we seismically shatter in crisis.

To establish a Love-based Earthgrid resonance is to surrender resistance to experience, and to surrender judgment of ourselves for our all of our human experience. To unconditionally accept our humanness while we simultaneously act to better our human condition is a form of communion, an act of Love that creates a condition of geophysical and cultural stability, and an Earthgrid resonance that supports a harmonious infusion of Evolutionary Intelligence into the Earth and into ourselves. Acting from Love with conscious deliberation makes possible safe passage through the Holy Cross portal / evolutionary transition at hand; it makes possible our graduation as a spiritually awakened world into galactic awareness and extraterrestrial co-participation.

Fire the Grid, as other events of this nature, provide opportunity to consciously participate in our spiritual, emotional, and physical evolutionary maturing and awakening. Participating in such events is to act as responsible co-creators of our reality.

Live Earth: One Big Gesture for Humans, One Giant Problem for the Earth

By Cole Moreton and Geoffrey Lean - The Independent UK

08 July 2007

Live Earth was watched by two billion people on a day when 20 million tons of carbon were emitted, a square kilometre of the Antarctic ice shelf was lost and a major new study, exclusively revealed by the 'IoS', shows the damage we are doing worldwide.

The sun was shining; the bands were good - well, some of them - and the summer had arrived at last. Tennis players fought it out at Wimbledon and cyclists raced down the Mall in the Tour de France. But as the crowd inside Wembley Stadium for the London Live Earth concert was joined by two billion viewers around the world, other things were happening yesterday too.

Live Earth took place on seven continents, over 24 hours. During that time five million people travelled by plane - and nearly 5,000 people died as a result of air pollution. More than 83 million barrels of oil were consumed - and the Antarctic lost a kilometre from its melting ice shelf. The population of the world increased by 211,000 - and the forests of the world decreased by 20,000 hectares.

All this happens every day - symptoms of the global crisis that Live Earth hopes to help to stop. And the true picture is even worse than we fear, The Independent on Sunday can reveal.

Startling new research shows that humanity is pushing the Earth to breaking point by devouring the life-support systems that make it habitable. Even before the feared climate change really begins the bite, the planet is already under intolerable strain. An unprecedented study by top ecologists and climatologists, to be published by the US National Academy of Sciences, shows that a quarter of all plant life in the world is being destroyed each year by the demands of just one species: homo sapiens.

"That is mind-boggling," said Kevin Wall, co-founder and producer of the Live Earth shows which started in Sydney, Australia, at 2am British time and ended in Rio de Janeiro early this morning. "It is part of the challenge we face, which is so overwhelming that people tend to go along with their lives in the same way, because it's invisible moment by moment."

Live Earth hoped to beat that inertia by challenging members of its unprecedented global audience to reduce their own carbon emissions and campaign for serious political action. "The Earth is a blue ball covered with a very thin layer of lacquer, within which the air, water and living beings exist," said the former US presidential candidate Al Gore, who also put the concerts together. "This fragile layer is all we have. It is our only home - and we owe it to our children and our children's children to protect it."

But the new research in 161 countries - the most extensive study ever made into humanity's impact on the planet's production of life, powered by the Sun - shows that the Earth is already in serious trouble. In some parts of the world humans are using up far more than 25 per cent of plant life for food, fuel and other needs. In Western Europe we gobble up 40 per cent of the earth's natural bounty, in Eastern Europe 52 per cent, and in India a staggering 63 per cent. About half of this is accounted for by growing crops and another 40 per cent in forestry and grazing domesticated animals.

"This is a remarkable impact on the biosphere caused by just one species," said the German government's chief adviser on climate change. The US Academy's study, actually carried out at Austria's Klagenfurt University and Germany's Potsdam Institute for Climate Research, is backed by some of the world's most distinguished experts. Dr Nathan Moore of Michigan State University called the results "alarming". Professor Christopher Field, founding director of the Carnegie Institution's Department of Global Ecology, said: "With millions of species sharing the leftovers, it is hard to know how many will be squeezed out of the game."

Global warming will place even greater strain on the natural world, the survey says. But it also warns that one of the main measures proposed to combat climate change - growing extra crops for to make biofuels - places " massive additional pressures on ecosystems."

Live Earth took place on seven continents in Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai, Johannesburg, Hamburg, London, New York and Rio de Janeiro. Crowded House were headlining in Australia long before the doors opened at the new Wembley Stadium, and their lead singer Neil Finn said this event would shame other rock promoters and set a new standard for responsible shows. "This is the least we can do at this point in the planet's history. It's a groundswell we want to be part of."

But Roger Daltrey of The Who (not on the bill anywhere) had said: "The last thing the planet needs is a rock concert." And Arctic Monkeys said the artists appearing were patronising and hypocritical, "especially when we're using enough power for 10 houses, just for stage lighting".

British fans at Wembley were well aware of the absurdity of super-rich rock stars lecturing ordinary people about how to live a greener life. Darren Goddard, 32, a bricklayer from Norwich, was looking forward to seeing Madonna. But asked whether she would have come by National Express to cut down emissions, as he had, he just laughed.

"It is ridiculous and a bit insulting to hear them when they've got all that wealth," agreed his friend Jim Clancy, 45, a builder, " but you need big stars to attract people." And Maria Clancy, 32, a teaching assistant, said: "If she manages to make 100 people change their minds today then it's almost worth it."

Prime Minster Gordon Brown echoed the need for more awareness. "People are asking, 'What can I do?'" he said. "When I go round the country and I meet people, they say to me, 'Look, if we knew what we could do to make a difference to helping the planet, then we would do it.' One of the things we've got to do in the next few months is have more information about the different things that we can do to improve the planet."

Live Earth was organised by the Alliance for Global Protection, the charity set up by Al Gore when his unexpected hit film An Inconvenient Truth turned a failed US politician into the world's leading green statesman. Kevin Wall, his partner in making the concerts happen, was also the man behind the Live8 in 2005. Like those shows, this one was not after money. "The southern hemisphere - in particular Africa - is already the most affected by the climate crisis," Mr Wall told the IoS, "but Live Earth isn't about the haves and the have-nots. The air we breathe here is the same air they breathe in Africa and China. The crisis will affect us just the same, rich and the poor."

As a promoter he was aware how ridiculous and hypocritical it might look. " But it's not about what anybody has done in the past. This is about their commitment going forward. If we can get the rock industry and promoters to make a commitment, if we can get consumers to sign the pledge, we will achieve something."

Everyone watching was urged to sign up by text or online for a sevenfold pledge to plant trees, protect forests, buy from eco-friendly businesses, vote for green-minded politicians and make "a dramatic increase" in energy savings. But the pledge also involved promising to fight for new laws and policies, to demand that their country sign a new treaty - and the very specific demand that any new coal power station be able to trap and store the CO2 it produces.

Inside the stadium, the power was coming from renewable sources, the organisers claimed, and food, drink and souvenirs were being sold in recycled or biodegradable packaging. The burgers came in boxes made from sugar cane and reed fibre and Madonna's backstage pass hung from a lanyard made from the recycled stems of grain crops. Her flights - and all those taken by Live Earth staff and performers - were offset. But most of that was only for this event.

Sharon Looremeta had come from her Masai village in Kenya to speak to the world from the Wembley stage. "We lived for many years with lots of animals and food but with time we have become poorer than any other human beings on earth," she said. "Our rivers have dried up. Our vegetation is drying up too because we do not get the rains we used to. Women cannot work and children are stopped from going to school because they must walk long distances to look for water."

How did it feel then, to share a microphone with some of the world's richest stars? "There is a disparity," she said. "But I have come to share our story and they want to hear it. They are human. They have feelings and morals. I can go back and say that people here have a commitment to help us and to change"

Even the reformed spoof rock gods Spinal Tap had their say on global warming. "We're premiering our new song called 'Warmer than Hell,'" said the bass player Derek Smalls.

And in a speech in South Africa, the Benin singer Angélique Kidjo said: "Get your butt out there and do something. If we don't do something today, then when there's another tsunami then that cynical person, his arse is going to be on that wave."

Gore Discusses Live Earth, Rejects 2008 Bid

Rocking and rapping for the Earth - All-star lineup on 7 continents sounds the call (2007-07-07)
The Police, Roger Waters, Kanye West, and the Smashing Pumpkins led an all-star lineup of environmentally conscious rockers and rappers at yesterday's Live Earth concert at Giants Stadium, performing for a sold-out crowd of 52,000. But that was just the tip of the (melting) iceberg. During a series of concerts that lasted 24 hours and featured more than 150 musical artists performing in nine cities on seven continents, almost-president-turned-environmental evangelist Al Gore delivered an urgent message about what he called a climate in crisis to a global audience during Live Earth. Broadcast on network and cable television, satellite radio, and online, Live Earth was expected to reach an audience of more than 2 bill (...) Live Earth organizers have come under fire for creating an event that consumes huge amounts of energy and generates massive quantities of trash. But concert officials maintain that the shows are as green as they can be, keeping environmental impact to a minimum by using alternative fuels where possible and renewable-source electricity. Staff and artist air travel is being offset through carbon credits, such as planting trees, they said. At Giants Stadium, concessionaires used recyclable paper products, and organic waste was composted. And uncertainty about a final goal was addressed by a pair of powerful speakers. One was an incendiary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who defied the event's one-small-step mentality by arguing that getting involved in the political process - "getting rid of rotten politicians" - was more important than using compact fluorescent bulbs or buying a fuel-efficient car. The other was Jane Goodall, who brought the crowd to its feet with her version of a chimp's greeting and sent them home with her own poetic take on the question at hand: "What will it take to melt the human heart? We must hear the plea of the natural world, and we must obey." Proceeds from Live Earth will go to the Alliance for Climate Protection, a nonprofit organization founded by Gore.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Speaks Truth to Power in Live Earth Speech (Transcript provided)
(...) Environmental injury is deficit spending. It is a way of loading the costs of our generation's prosperity on to the backs of our children. Climate change is upon us. Its impacts are going to be catastrophic and we are causing it. The good news is, we have the scientific and technological capacity to avert its most catastrophic impacts. We only need the political will. If we raise fuel economy standards in our automobiles by one mile - we generate twice the amount of oil that is in the Arctic National Wildlife Refugee. If we raise fuel economy standards by 7.6 miles per gallon we yield more oil than we now import from the Persian Gulf. We can eliminate 100% of Persian Gulf oil. (...) The most important thing you can do is to get involved in the political process and get rid of all of these rotten politicians that we have in Washington D.C. who are nothing more than corporate toadies for companies like Exxon and Southern Company, these villainous companies that consistently put their private financial interest ahead of American interest and ahead of the interest of all of humanity. This is treason and we need to start treating them now as traitors. CLIP

Subject: Live Earth is over, it's down to us

Dear friends,

Over a billion saw the Live Earth concerts, but will anything really change? It’s down to us!

Sign the Pledge today!

On Saturday, over a billion people around the world watched the Live Earth concerts against climate change. Will it make any difference? That's down to us.

Saving the world will take more than seven concerts -- it'll depend on millions of us, coming together across borders to take action and pressing our governments and corporations to do the same. The Climate Pledge below is much more than a petition -- it's a personal commitment to seven simple things each of us can do, and a challenge to leaders to act before it's too late.

Just take 30 seconds now, go to this link and sign the Pledge -- then tell seven friends:

When you sign the pledge look at the bottom of the page for a map of thousands of Avaaz parties and events from last Saturday. In 125 countries around the world, from Hong Kong to the USA and Portugal to Peru, Avaaz members were responsible for almost half of all the Live Earth events held on the day. This was a big step forward for our new community that helped make Live Earth a significant day of awareness raising, and everyone who hosted and attended deserves a huge congratulations!

When it comes to our planet, we can be a lot more than spectators. The Climate Pledge is the whole point of Live Earth. So add your name now at this link, and send it to seven friends --

This week we could reach a million or more, then get started with the rest of the world.Let's turn the moment into an unstoppable global movement. The climate crisis demands nothing less.

With hope,

Paul, Graziela, Ricken, Ben, Hannah, Iain, Galit, and the entire Avaaz team

Here's the text of the pledge. It's more than a petition--it's a statement of personal and political purpose. Just imagine what's possible if millions of people sign it and take action:

1. To demand that my country join an international treaty within the next 2 years that cuts global warming pollution by 90% in developed countries and by more than half worldwide in time for the next generation to inherit a healthy earth;

2. To take personal action to help solve the climate crisis by reducing my own CO2 pollution as much as I can and offsetting the rest to become "carbon neutral;"

3. To fight for a moratorium on the construction of any new generating facility that burns coal without the capacity to safely trap and store the CO2;

4. To work for a dramatic increase in the energy efficiency of my home, workplace, school, place of worship, and means of transportation;

5. To fight for laws and policies that expand the use of renewable energy sources and reduce dependence on oil and coal;

6. To plant new trees and to join with others in preserving and protecting forests; and,

7. To buy from businesses and support leaders who share my commitment to solving the climate crisis and building a sustainable, just, and prosperous world for the 21st century.

Welcome to the July 11 edition of the Satya Center newsletter. If you’d like to read this newsletter online with pictures, just click here (

Warm greetings from your Editors, Curtis Lang and Jane Sherry.

Many of our friends, family, clients, customers and neighbors – primarily Americans -- have spoken to us recently about what they describe as a general feeling of malaise, pessimism, and futility they have been experiencing for the last year or two.

It has been perhaps a hundred years since the ruling classes in America have been so bold, so arrogant, and so dominant in every aspect of political, economic and cultural life.

A climate of fear and helplessness pervades the country. This unpleasant climate was triggered by 9/11 and has been tirelessly promoted by a self-serving political elite and a corporate media controlled by a handful of global corporations dedicated to the expansion of their wealth and privilege at any cost.

The long, brutal, authoritarian administration of George W. Bush has presided over an open-ended Imperial war of aggression in Iraq, an unprecedented transfer of wealth from middle class and poor Americans to a wealthy elite, the shredding of the Bill of Rights, and the polarization of the American people into a quasi-fascist right wing and fundamentalist faction, comprising about 30-35% of the population, and a larger, more moderate majority, that opposes the Iraq war, wants universal health care and good jobs at good wages, believes the government has a responsibility to all its citizens, not just large campaign contributors, and supports human rights, at home and abroad.

That would be enough in itself to put Americans in a bad mood. But George W. Bush has benefited from a historical anomaly that rests upon a quirk of American consciousness. Opposition to the immensely unpopular Iraq war has been almost completely ineffective. Labor unions are in retreat. Campuses are basically quiet; young people quietly accept the new social contract in which a vast class divide separates a tiny elite of wealth-holders from a larger group of increasingly insecure corporate job-holders and a beleaguered professional cadre from the vast majority of Americans, who find their wages shrinking, their prospects diminishing, their debt ballooning, and their ability to pay for housing, education, health care and retirement increasingly at grave risk.

The Democratic Party under the leadership of the Democratic Leadership Council and Bill and Hillary Clinton has become a second Republican party, dedicated to advancing the agenda of global corporations, international finance, and the super-wealthy, and Democrats have been completely unwilling to confront the neo-fascist Republicans and George W. Bush on any important issues.

The disconnect between America’s political, economic and intellectual elites and the vast majority of the American people is virtually complete. Elite opinion makers now validate political leaders who ignore the wishes of the vast majority of their constituents and pursue policies designed to enrich and empower the elites at the expense of the rest of us. The crisis of democracy is upon us, here in America, in the early 21st century.

Many commentators on the Internet speak of this crisis, but you will not read about it in any American newspaper or magazine (with a few honorable exceptions such as Harper’s), see discussion of this crisis on any American TV show, or view dramatizations of this crisis in your movie theatre – unless you go to see one of Michael Moore’s courageous films.

Conspiracy theories abound, and the general tenor of these theories is always the same. A vast, shadowy group of immensely powerful individuals has obtained virtually unlimited power and exercises it in every area of life, in America, and around the world, and it is basically futile to oppose them.

The subtext in these theoretical constructs, is for the average American to understand that it’s every man for himself; that there is no point in supporting any political parties, dissident groups, alternative media, unions, or any progressive political movements because resistance is futile.

The subconscious message is that it is far better to arm yourself to the teeth, prepare your family to survive the coming collapse of American civilization, and direct your suppressed rage at those targets sanctioned by the ruling classes, such as immigrants, African-Americans, Muslims, “liberals” and homosexuals.

These conspiracy theories have a long history in America. They are always promoted by right-wing political groups, and they serve the interests of the ruling class in a number of ways: by promoting the myth of the invincibility of the American ruling class, by promoting a general sense of futility among the populace, by promoting a war of all against all, and by dividing Americans along racial, gender and class lines to render opposition to the ruling class ineffective.

These same symptoms of cultural decline, including a general crisis of democracy and unprecedented concentrations of wealth are apparent around the world.

In Britain, Bush’s partner Tony Blair has presided over what amounts to a 21st century Gilded Age, an unprecedented degradation of English cultural life, a glorification of Anglo-American Empire, and an astounding transfer of wealth to the upper classes.

In China, hundreds of millions go hungry while politically well-connected entrepreneurial cadres cash in on real estate and stock market booms underpinned by industrialization for the benefit of international corporations relocating to low-wage countries.

In India, hundreds of millions of farmers are to be removed from their land in the countryside and placed in relocation camps and urban slums, where they have no prospects for advancement, so that global corporations can pursue industrial schemes and large-scale industrial agriculture which will greedily deplete the already scarce water resources. Stock markets and urban real estate markets are creating new classes of super-rich Indians, who increasingly live in a world completely separate from the vast majority of their fellow-citizens.

In France, the new President, Nicolas Sarkozy, won on a platform of harsh law and order police state programs, open racism and the dismantling of France’s generous social programs.

Across Europe, the EU bureaucracy has implemented a program of monetary austerity overseen by a secretive central bank that essentially strips European Union countries of their ability to conduct fiscal policy, and to preserve their generous universal social services. EU elites still seek to ratify an undemocratic and regressive European Union Constitution even though it was resoundingly defeated at the polls over the last few years across the continent.

Meanwhile, global warming proceeds apace. Yet no significant collective response has been organized on a global basis, thanks to the recalcitrance of the world’s biggest energy consumer, the United States. Despite escalating concerns about climate change, massive soil erosion, food shortages, water shortages, and environmental degradation around the world, global consumption of energy continues to increase rapidly. As global energy production fails to meet growing demand, governments around the world are gearing up for a dangerous new round of resource wars, both cold and hot, in which America, Russia, China, India, Iran and other major players compete to control ever more precious energy resources.

Government officials, news media, and rock stars all agree that individuals must make sacrifices to help out in the face of the growing global energy and environmental crisis.

There is no mention of the fact that only concerted collective action by governments at the local, state, federal and international levels can mobilize the resources and fashion the regulations and laws required to produce the vast systemic changes required to avert disaster. There is no mention of the fact that world peace must be the foundation for all efforts to avert the twin energy and environmental crises.

America currently spends about $1 trillion per year on its military operations. Imagine if America declared peace to be the foundation of its foreign policy.

Imagine that America took just 2/3 of its current military budget, some $666 billion per year, and earmarked it for subsidies for development of alternative energy, for development of educational programs for organic farming practices, for subsidies for small scale sustainable farms, for subsidies for homeowners and businesses and cities to implement energy saving technologies and policies, and for aid to bio-regions in need of environmental reconstruction, such as the restoration of wetlands in Louisiana and Florida.

Imagine if America imposed new regulations on international corporations requiring them to meet energy efficiency standards, international labor standards and strict environmental guidelines in all their operations, both foreign and domestic, or face stiff penalties, including and up to dissolution of their operations.

Imagine if America declared a new policy of income redistribution and Fair Play: the creation of a wealth tax designed to force the wealthiest 5% of Americans to pay their fair share of the collective cost of maintaining the global social, legal, governmental, military and political infrastructure paid for by American tax dollars, since the wealthiest are the ones who benefit the most from this grand cultural achievement.

According to a May 18 article in the Baltimore Sun, “The top 1 percent of Americans are now receiving the largest share of national income since the pre-Great Depression year 1928. The top 10 percent get 48.5 percent of total income, an obscene rate of inequality. According to Princeton University Prof. Peter Singer, the top 0.01 percent of taxpayers, or 14,000 Americans, earn an average of $12.7 million each, with total earnings of $184 billion. The rest of the 0.1 percent, 129,600 individuals, now have an average income of just over $2 million. And the top 0.5, or 575,900, have an average income of $623,000.” (

“Prof. Singer calculates that if the folks in the top 10 percent gave away between 10 percent to 30 percent of their income, it would raise $404 billion, an amount that would eliminate half of global poverty. And they would not be left to scrimp on their sumptuous lifestyles.”

Imagine if frequent flyers, owners of multiple large homes, and consistent large-scale corporate and individual polluters had to pay hefty fees for the privilege of spoiling the commons?

Imagine if these taxes, which would come to a few hundred billion dollars per year, were earmarked for universal health care and merit scholarships to deserving youth. Insurance companies would be disbanded, and great economies would result since it is well known that management costs for Medicare are only a tiny fraction of the management costs for private health care plans in America.

Imagine if America simply dissolved the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, and promoted the creation of regional consortiums of locally controlled financial institutions to provide investment credits for environmentally sound sustainable development.

Changes like that would truly rock the world!

But, you may say, such changes are politically impossible. Unthinkable! Just pipe dreams.

Well, that’s what experts, opinion leaders and officials around the world said in the mid 1980s when asked if fundamental restructuring of the Brezhnev era Soviet Union would ever be possible. Only a major war or total civilizational collapse could bring about change

And they were totally wrong. Is there any reason to believe that America today is like the Soviet Union in the time of Brezhnev? I think so, and I have detailed the similarities in an article entitled “Bush and Brezhnev: Separated at Birth?” (

The Bush-Cheney plan to promote war with Iran is faltering. Just as the Soviets met their Waterloo under Brezhnev in Afghanistan, in a war featuring jidhadists trained by Pakistani secret service cadres, the neo-conservative global war on terror is floundering in the deep, murky waters of Afghanistan and Iraq, as the world’s mightiest military machine appears to be stalemated by a motley group of Sunni Islamic jihadists with roots in the mujahideen movement brought to birth by Pakistani Secret Service operatives in the late Nineteen Eighties.

Pakistan is replacing Iran as the focus for global concern about terrorism. This is ironic since there has been an almost total news blackout in America of the role Pakistan played in supporting Islamic terrorism over the years – at Washington’s request.

America’s elite opinion-makers are belatedly waking up to the fact that Bush’s Pakistani partner, the military dictator Pervez Musharraf, is one of the primary supporters of the Taliban and of al-Qaeda. Indeed, Musharraf is a product of the Pakistani intelligence service, the ISI, which armed and trained the mujahideen, al-Qaeda, and the Taliban, at the request of and with funding provided by the CIA, during the Afghani-Russian war. Now that Musharraf is being forced to confront his old allies, armed struggle has broken out between the Islamists and their old mentor Musharraf. That struggle has the potential to foment a destabilizing and dangerous civil war in a nuclear armed country with a vast military culture wedded to Islamic jihad and packed with Islamic fundamentalists sympathetic to al-Qaeda, who would like to transform Pakistan into the world’s first nuclear Jihadist.

In fact, your editor Curtis Lang appeared on Pacifica radio two days after 9/11 warning that the goal of al-Qaeda was clearly to draw the United States into unwinnable wars in the Middle East which would lead to a destabilizing civil war in Pakistan, where al-Qaeda and their allies have their greatest strength, because the ultimate goal of Islamic terrorists has always been to obtain control of Pakistan’s arsenal of nuclear weapons. We now approach the endgame of the chess match begun the day the Twin Towers fell.

Radical change is in the air worldwide, and the well-formulated plans of the neo-conservative masters of the New American Empire are foundering on uncontrollable factors beyond their calculations. Blowback from previous covert wars, instigated by Ronald Reagan and George Bush, Sr., threatens to derail George Bush Jr.’s global war on terrorism and bring about a final humiliating defeat, perhaps producing the world’s first true rogue terrorist nuclear power.

Aside from such grand political theorizing, are there any insights into grand historical cycles and mass psychology available to us from spiritual studies that might shed light on the current global dilemma and on America’s strangely passive acceptance of its transformation from beacon of hope, equal opportunity and democracy into Imperial overseer and promoter of torture, authoritarianism and inequality?

In fact there are!

A Declaration of Independence from Israel

by Chris Hedges

Israel, without the United States, would probably not exist. The country came perilously close to extinction during the October 1973 war when Egypt, trained and backed by the Soviet Union, crossed the Suez and the Syrians poured in over the Golan Heights. Huge American military transport planes came to the rescue. They began landing every half-hour to refit the battered Israeli army, which had lost most of its heavy armor. By the time the war was over, the United States had given Israel $2.2 billion in emergency military aid.

The intervention, which enraged the Arab world, triggered the OPEC oil embargo that for a time wreaked havoc on Western economies. This was perhaps the most dramatic example of the sustained life-support system the United States has provided to the Jewish state.

Israel was born at midnight May 14, 1948. The U.S. recognized the new state 11 minutes later. The two countries have been locked in a deadly embrace ever since.

Washington, at the beginning of the relationship, was able to be a moderating influence. An incensed President Eisenhower demanded and got Israel's withdrawal after the Israelis occupied Gaza in 1956. During the Six-Day War in 1967, Israeli warplanes bombed the USS Liberty. The ship, flying the U.S. flag and stationed 15 miles off the Israeli coast, was intercepting tactical and strategic communications from both sides. The Israeli strikes killed 34 U.S. sailors and wounded 171. The deliberate attack froze, for a while, Washington's enthusiasm for Israel. But ruptures like this one proved to be only bumps, soon smoothed out by an increasingly sophisticated and well-financed Israel lobby that set out to merge Israel and American foreign policy in the Middle East.

Israel has reaped tremendous rewards from this alliance. It has been given more than $140 billion in U.S. direct economic and military assistance. It receives about $3 billion in direct assistance annually, roughly one-fifth of the U.S. foreign aid budget. Although most American foreign aid packages stipulate that related military purchases have to be made in the United States, Israel is allowed to use about 25 percent of the money to subsidize its own growing and profitable defense industry. It is exempt, unlike other nations, from accounting for how it spends the aid money. And funds are routinely siphoned off to build new Jewish settlements, bolster the Israeli occupation in the Palestinian territories and construct the security barrier, which costs an estimated $1 million a mile.

The barrier weaves its way through the West Bank, creating isolated pockets of impoverished Palestinians in ringed ghettos. By the time the barrier is finished it will probably in effect seize up to 40 percent of Palestinian land. This is the largest land grab by Israel since the 1967 war. And although the United States officially opposes settlement expansion and the barrier, it also funds them.

The U.S. has provided Israel with nearly $3 billion to develop weapons systems and given Israel access to some of the most sophisticated items in its own military arsenal, including Blackhawk attack helicopters and F-16 fighter jets. The United States also gives Israel access to intelligence it denies to its NATO allies. And when Israel refused to sign the nuclear nonproliferation treaty, the United States stood by without a word of protest as the Israelis built the region‚s first nuclear weapons program.

U.S. foreign policy, especially under the current Bush administration, has become little more than an extension of Israeli foreign policy. The United States since 1982 has vetoed 32 Security Council resolutions critical of Israel, more than the total number of vetoes cast by all the other Security Council members. It refuses to enforce the Security Council resolutions it claims to support. These resolutions call on Israel to withdraw from the occupied territories.

There is now volcanic anger and revulsion by Arabs at this blatant favoritism. Few in the Middle East see any distinction between Israeli and American policies, nor should they. And when the Islamic radicals speak of U.S. support of Israel as a prime reason for their hatred of the United States, we should listen. The consequences of this one-sided relationship are being played out in the disastrous war in Iraq, growing tension with Iran, and the humanitarian and political crisis in Gaza. It is being played out in Lebanon, where Hezbollah is gearing up for another war with Israel, one most Middle East analysts say is inevitable. The U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East is unraveling. And it is doing so because of this special relationship. The eruption of a regional conflict would usher in a nightmare of catastrophic proportions.

There were many in the American foreign policy establishment and State Department who saw this situation coming. The decision to throw our lot in with Israel in the Middle East was not initially a popular one with an array of foreign policy experts, including President Harry Truman's secretary of state, Gen. George Marshall. They warned there would be a backlash. They knew the cost the United States would pay in the oil-rich region for this decision, which they feared would be one of the greatest strategic blunders of the postwar era. And they were right. The decision has jeopardized American and Israeli security and created the kindling for a regional conflagration.

The alliance, which makes no sense in geopolitical terms, does make sense when seen through the lens of domestic politics. The Israel lobby has become a potent force in the American political system. No major candidate, Democrat or Republican, dares to challenge it. The lobby successfully purged the State Department of Arab experts who challenged the notion that Israeli and American interests were identical. Backers of Israel have doled out hundreds of millions of dollars to support U.S. political candidates deemed favorable to Israel. They have brutally punished those who strayed, including the first President Bush, who they said was not vigorous enough in his defense of Israeli interests. This was a lesson the next Bush White House did not forget. George W. Bush did not want to be a one-term president like his father.

Israel advocated removing Saddam Hussein from power and currently advocates striking Iran to prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons. Direct Israeli involvement in American military operations in the Middle East is impossible. It would reignite a war between Arab states and Israel. The United States, which during the Cold War avoided direct military involvement in the region, now does the direct bidding of Israel while Israel watches from the sidelines. During the 1991 Gulf War, Israel was a spectator, just as it is in the war with Iraq.

President Bush, facing dwindling support for the war in Iraq, publicly holds Israel up as a model for what he would like Iraq to become. Imagine how this idea plays out on the Arab street, which views Israel as the Algerians viewed the French colonizers during the war of liberation.

"In Israel," Bush said recently, "terrorists have taken innocent human life for years in suicide attacks. The difference is that Israel is a functioning democracy and it's not prevented from carrying out its responsibilities. And that's a good indicator of success that we're looking for in Iraq."

Americans are increasingly isolated and reviled in the world. They remain blissfully ignorant of their own culpability for this isolation. U.S. "spin" paints the rest of the world as unreasonable, but Israel, Americans are assured, will always be on our side.

Israel is reaping economic as well as political rewards from its lock-down apartheid state. In the "gated community" market it has begun to sell systems and techniques that allow the nation to cope with terrorism. Israel, in 2006, exported $3.4 billion in defense products—well over a billion dollars more than it received in American military aid. Israel has grown into the fourth largest arms dealer in the world. Most of this growth has come in the so-called homeland security sector.

"The key products and services," as Naomi Klein wrote in The Nation, "are hi-tech fences, unmanned drones, biometric IDs, video and audio surveillance gear, air passenger profiling and prisoner interrogation systems—precisely the tools and technologies Israel has used to lock in the occupied territories. And that is why the chaos in Gaza and the rest of the region doesn't threaten the bottom line in Tel Aviv, and may actually boost it. Israel has learned to turn endless war into a brand asset, pitching its uprooting, occupation and containment of the Palestinian people as a half-century head start in the "global war on terror."

The United States, at least officially, does not support the occupation and calls for a viable Palestinian state. It is a global player, with interests that stretch well beyond the boundaries of the Middle East, and the equation that Israel's enemies are our enemies is not that simple.

"Terrorism is not a single adversary," John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt wrote in The London Review of Books, "but a tactic employed by a wide array of political groups. The terrorist organizations that threaten Israel do not threaten the United States, except when it intervenes against them (as in Lebanon in 1982). Moreover, Palestinian terrorism is not random violence directed against Israel or 'the West'; it is largely a response to Israel's prolonged campaign to colonize the West Bank and Gaza Strip. More important, saying that Israel and the US are united by a shared terrorist threat has the causal relationship backwards: the US has a terrorism problem in good part because it is so closely allied with Israel, not the other way around."

Middle Eastern policy is shaped in the United States by those with very close ties to the Israel lobby. Those who attempt to counter the virulent Israeli position, such as former Secretary of State Colin Powell, are ruthlessly slapped down. This alliance was true also during the Clinton administration, with its array of Israeli-first Middle East experts, including special Middle East coordinator Dennis Ross and Martin Indyk, the former deputy director of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, AIPAC, one of the most powerful Israel lobbying groups in Washington. But at least people like Indyk and Ross are sane, willing to consider a Palestinian state, however unviable, as long as it is palatable to Israel. The Bush administration turned to the far-right wing of the Israel lobby, those who have not a shred of compassion for the Palestinians or a word of criticism for Israel. These new Middle East experts include Elliott Abrams, John Bolton, Douglas Feith, the disgraced I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz and David Wurmser.

Washington was once willing to stay Israel's hand. It intervened to thwart some of its most extreme violations of human rights. This administration, however, has signed on for every disastrous Israeli blunder, from building the security barrier in the West Bank, to sealing off Gaza and triggering a humanitarian crisis, to the ruinous invasion and saturation bombing of Lebanon.

The few tepid attempts by the Bush White House to criticize Israeli actions have all ended in hasty and humiliating retreats in the face of Israeli pressure. When the Israel Defense Forces in April 2002 reoccupied the West Bank, President Bush called on then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to "halt the incursions and begin withdrawal." It never happened. After a week of heavy pressure from the Israel lobby and Israel's allies in Congress, meaning just about everyone in Congress, the president gave up, calling Sharon "a man of peace." It was a humiliating moment for the United Sates, a clear sign of who pulled the strings.

There were several reasons for the war in Iraq. The desire for American control of oil, the belief that Washington could build puppet states in the region, and a real, if misplaced, fear of Saddam Hussein played a part in the current disaster. But it was also strongly shaped by the notion that what is good for Israel is good for the United States. Israel wanted Iraq neutralized. Israeli intelligence, in the lead-up to the war, gave faulty information to the U.S. about Iraq's alleged arsenal of weapons of mass destruction. And when Baghdad was taken in April 2003, the Israeli government immediately began to push for an attack on Syria. The lust for this attack has waned, in no small part because the Americans don't have enough troops to hang on in Iraq, much less launch a new occupation.

Israel is currently lobbying the United States to launch aerial strikes on Iran, despite the debacle in Lebanon. Israel's iron determination to forcibly prevent a nuclear Iran makes it probable that before the end of the Bush administration an attack on Iran will take place. The efforts to halt nuclear development through diplomatic means have failed. It does not matter that Iran poses no threat to the United States. It does not matter that it does not even pose a threat to Israel, which has several hundred nuclear weapons in its arsenal. It matters only that Israel demands total military domination of the Middle East.

The alliance between Israel and the United States has culminated after 50 years in direct U.S. military involvement in the Middle East.

And I fear it also means the ultimate end of the Jewish experiment in the Middle East.

The weakening of the United States, economically and militarily, is giving rise to new centers of power. The U.S. economy, mismanaged and drained by the Iraq war, is increasingly dependent on Chinese trade imports and on Chinese holdings of U.S. Treasury securities. China holds dollar reserves worth $825 billion. If Beijing decides to abandon the U.S. bond market, even in part, it would cause a free fall by the dollar. It would lead to the collapse of the $7-trillion U.S. real estate market. There would be a wave of U.S. bank failures and huge unemployment. The growing dependence on China has been accompanied by aggressive work by the Chinese to build alliances with many of the world's major exporters of oil, such as Iran, Nigeria, Sudan and Venezuela. The Chinese are preparing for the looming worldwide clash over dwindling resources.

The future is ominous. Not only do Israel's foreign policy objectives not coincide with American interests, they actively hurt them. The growing belligerence in the Middle East, the calls for an attack against Iran, the collapse of the imperial project in Iraq have all given an opening, where there was none before, to America's rivals. It is not in Israel's interests to ignite a regional conflict. It is not in ours. But those who have their hands on the wheel seem determined, in the name of freedom and democracy, to keep the American ship of state headed at breakneck speed into the cliffs before us.

Subject: Cosmic Paradigm Newsletter
From: Mark Kimmel">

Dear Friends,

A few weeks ago I was feeling a bit overwhelmed by all that is occurring and asked repeatedly, "What was going on? After several requests, I received the following response, very clearly, word for word, "These are the winnowing times." I searched the dictionary to confirm my understanding of winnowing and found, winnow: 1) To separate the chaff from the grain by means of a current of air. 2) To sort or select (a desirable part).

As I have been saying in these newsletters for many months, this is the time of the transformation of our planet, of our individual transitions. For me, the above words, from a much wiser source than I, confirm the notion that the situation in which we are living is indeed a time of choice.

As I write this newsletter, with lots of help I might add, I recognize what changes in my perspective have occurred these last few years. This newsletter was first published in November 2002. For those of you who remember that first edition, you may recall my sense of wonder at UFOs and ET contact. In the intervening years, I have shifted my focus from the phenomena to the meaning behinds it. In more recent months, I don't talk much at all about ETs, rather I find myself much more interested in what is going on in our world during these transition times. I am grateful for my many experiences with UFOs and ETs; they served to open me to the larger reality. I am similarly grateful for all the messages coming from ETs, angels, spirit guides and celestials; they have enriched my perspective. I have now successfully developed my own communications with wiser beings.

The message I want to convey to you today is one of love. First I want to say that the way in which I am seeing the fear-filled events of our times is that they are important. However, they are backdrop to the drama in which I am immersed, the drama of choosing whether I will function from a basis of fear, or from a basis of love. If the fear-filled events stay at the forefront of my consciousness, I will act out of fear. By relegating them to the backdrop, I can become a loving observe of the drama, and I can function from a state of love.

As we see the fear based decisions we have made over these past few years, we can see them for what they were: experiences. We can put aside their influence on us. We can reject their pull on our psyches. We can see ways to turn them into an impetus for action. We can become loving observers of this landscape, marveling at the power it has to snag others.

Neither are we lulled into denying that any of the larger reality exists, living in the comfort of denial. Denial and comfort are traps just as surely as fear. Comfort displays an unwillingness to grow, an attempt to hold onto the world as it is, to avoid change. If there is one thing that is a constant it is change and we are well advised to welcome the changes.

In earlier newsletters, I have spoken before of the power which we as individuals have -- the power to change this world into that which we would desire. (My earlier newsletters are archived at

In those earlier messages, I encouraged you to discover that power for yourself. I have also encouraged you to hold in your heart the vision of a wondrous new world, a world based on love not fear. Earth is to become an idyllic place where all people are honored as unique individuals. Where health, energy and wealth are available to all. We now have an opportunity to bring that idyllic world closer to reality.

The power of mass meditation has been shown in several circumstances, most notably when a group meditated and the crime rate in Washington, D.C. diminished. Much the same can be said for prayer. We are at the point in our evolution where we are being called to be proactive. Meditation is something that anyone can do -- in private, with love, without fear.

The specifics of your meditation are not nearly as important as your presence. Not all of us will have the same vision of a New Civilization on this planet. That is perfectly fine. Part of our new civilization is embracing diversity. Be part of the tapestry we are weaving -- a new way of being.

Until we have a chance to chat again,

In Truth and Love,

Much more through

Time flows by so quickly now. It is like it never was. What was once used as the measuring stick has now become the cause of all you were and all you are and all you will become. Just smile and say a gentle amen for the journeys just begun.

Ah, yes the Journey. We are all on the path to somewhere and now it has become apparent to many that the journey has no end. It has no beginning. It simply flows from here to there in a constant state of continuity. All has meaning. Nothing is insignificant, just as nothing is all important.

As you consider all that has been before you at various junctures on the Journey, always remember that each and every experience has been a gift. Take a moment NOW to give thanks for each experience that has led to this moment. All of these gifts, that may not have appeared as gifts at the time they were first experienced, can now be viewed from a distance. In your current now, you can grasp quite clearly what the significance was for each particular lesson. Maybe not with the rational mind, but from the standpoint of your Soul, the Light grows brighter with each and every ah-ha.

Let go of all those experiences where you may have felt pain or sadness. Honor the lessons learned and leave them where they belong, in the past, behind you. Lessons learned are not to be continually repeated and re-experienced. They are to be taken to heart and utilized as the gifts of Light that they are meant to be along Your Path.

Know that what you give, so shall you receive. As part of your Divine Purpose for this lifetime, learn to share your gifts with generosity and see your own internal coffers fill to overflowing with the immensity of the Divine Light that shines forth from each and every one of you, at the core.

The more you give of your Self, the more you receive. Feel the freedom gained when you learn to share of your Self with Divine Love. Practice the sharing of your Self without attachment or expectation. Simply give Love and Light unconditionally and KNOW in your heart that the Universe will respond in that same Love and Light from which you first ventured forth on this Journey.

What you give to another, you give to your Self since we are all as one. So give and share as if there is no other way to be. And so it is..

May the week ahead of you unfold in joy and wonder as you become what you already are in your Soul: a Divine Being here to express your Divinity with all on your Path... A beacon of Light to show the Way. Shine on...
