The Perfect Storm Series #7: Getting a Grip on the Truth and Acting Decisively

Hello everyone!

Exceptionally and due to the fast developing events in the Middle East, I'm sending you this compilation which is largely relevant to this issue. From all I read preparing this, I gather that following the recent Bilderberg meeting of the world cabal in Ottawa, decisions have been made to implement various nefarious plans that could ultimately lead up to a major world war. Not only was the single Israeli soldier alleged "kidnapping" by Palestinians entirely faked (the feat of digging undetected a 650 meters long tunnel in plain sight of an Israeli army outpost is completely impossible), but in my view the ensuing siege, blind destruction and massacre of innocent civilians in Gaza was cunningly designed to bait the Hizbollah militia in Lebanon into creating an excuse for the current mass bombing of yet more innocent people. Now the report that Israel has given Syria a 72 hour ultimatum on July15 to pressure Hizbollah into releasing their 2 hostage soldiers, is indicative of their further well prepared plans to bomb Syria and possibly, soon after, in an ever expanding escalation, to bomb Iran's nuclear installation with the help of Uncle Sam's 3 pre-positioned carrier fleets. If events reach this stage, there is no telling what the consequences might be, but it sure looks like hell...

Faced with such a dire situation, one is left to wonder where are the Lightworkers and peacemakers of the world as there has been precious few reactions so far to this mounting litany of horrors. Of course, the continuing American and British sponsored pogrom in Iraq has now made most people somewhat unresponsive when faced with yet more violence against our brothers and sisters of Arabic descent. Hence the usual feeling of powerlessness in front of these continuing assaults against precious human lives and the trampling of the most elementary human rights perpetrated by the cabal's minions in Israel and in the U.S. military.

Yet, we are definitely NOT powerless if we were to join forces spiritually and erect a wall of goodwill and Love to deflect and render impotent the violent aims of the perverted ones. The Force of our common Will for Peace, immeasurably boosted by the assistance provided from the invisible realm as well as from the extra-planetary civilizations monitoring our progress, is all that's needed to make a colossal difference and shape the way things will be on this world for millennia to come.

I greatly concur with master St. Germain in his latest address to Light Servers through Mike Quincy (included as the first main item below) who stated, comparing today's challenge with what happened at the time of the imminent demise of Atlantis: "This time you face a similar problem, and it is no good looking the other way otherwise the inevitable will happen. To your credit there is a strong movement of various groups that are seeking to bring a halt to the last cabals' insane headlong rush into war. Your efforts are making a difference and help defuse the situation. You are much more powerful than you realize, and the thought form for positive change gathers pace. This time around you vowed that you would not idly sit by and allow the dark to operate with impunity. Many are stirred into action as a result, and your combined efforts are paying off. Do not for one moment believe that the dark are too powerful to topple as they are not, and already they are frustrated in their efforts to get a greater grip on the people. Every individual effort makes for a formidable force for good. You really are winning this battle, but are unlikely to realize it until the outcome is clearly seen."

So, as the song says, "It's in all of us to be wise" and to Be All That We Are at this crucial juncture of our planetary ascension into the lighted realm of the New Era of Peace, Love and Harmony on Earth... and well, well beyond.

Please, if you are so inspired, make sure to join in the weekly Meditation Focus #154, currently centering on Kindling Global Human Brotherhood and so help foster a peaceful resolution of the current crisis and a permanent peace in the Middle East and all over the world. At this hour of the greater need, it would also seem sensible to make it a daily assignment to also join in meditative, healing assistance every day at noon, local time, for 15 minutes, to continue building up the necessary momentum for peace and brother/sisterhood on Earth.

Together and through the infinite power of Love, we can make a huge difference for Peace...

GREED (A story of Men or Nations)

There were two men who had a dispute over a boundary line. One said, "This land belongs to me!" The other said, "It is mine!" So they fought and fought like two wild beasts and oh, the blood that was shed. Till one of the men was crippled for life and the other man was dead! Then the cripple lived in misery, and he cried in his despair, "What fools we were so greedy to be! There was plenty for both to share!"

— Peace Pilgrim I -- Recommended by "Stan Penner">

"What matters most to me is the quality of our relationships and shifting the energy of humanity away from violence, war and greed to a sense of our oneness so that people and all beings on this earth may flourish. What matters is not just freedom, liberty and equality for me and everyone else on earth; no, I want nirvana, ecstasy, joy and an abundance of happiness, contentment and harmony for all beings. I want to hear happy children playing and laughing everywhere I go. I want to see men and women and children loving each other. I want to smell cherished earth after a rain and feel the peace like sun dancing on the waves at the shore. I want this earth to purr like a cat."

— Ariel Ky -- Taken from where she also wrote this about herself: "My ancestors came over on the Mayflower and they are all lined up behind me standing in grave concern about what is happening to our democracy and the liberty they toiled so hard to achieve. My ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War and the Civil War and WWI and WWII. I am as patriotic as any of them, but I raise my voice in dissidence to our government's ongoing reign of terror of bombing people in other countries. And I refuse to recognize George W. Bush as my president because of the election fraud and corrupt practices of the last election."

Peace for Jerusalem
Recommended by Susan Sun> from B.Wise Productions who wrote: "I thought you might like to know about this movement. It is a creative, spiritual, artistic endeavor to bring peace to Jerusalem. It is asking women from all around the world, the Divine Feminine energies, to peacefully occupy the Rooftop Promenade of Jerusalem (an immense complex of public roofs) in song, dance, meditation, music, healing, and workshops for peace in the spring of 2007. "The permanent presence of a lot of women is strategic move in the process that can stop violence." Also check out "Pyramids of Light" found on Rob Schrama's website, one of the organizers' of the above endeavor." NOTE from Jean - This is INDEED a MOST inspiring idea that should be implemented in all major cities all over the world. Here is a quick intro from this site: "The Pyramid of Light is a contemporary demonstration for peace, which can be realized in every city. A centralized open space forms the location. In the corners of this space 4 laser beams are set up. In the evening hours they shoot their green fluorescent light into the universe and thus form a pyramid. From far and wide the rays can be seen and will lead the visitor towards it. Underneath this light sculpture people transform their anxiety about the situation in their city and in the world into a positive manifestation for peace. By means of meditation, prayer, by singing mantra’s and songs, by making music, listening to each other stories en by sharing food and drinks around a campfire, an unique gathering of multi cultural and multi religious population groups from a city. This is meant as an example for all areas where people are fighting each other. "

Just as I was about to email this out, in came Matthew's latest message from which I quote only the first question and answer below, for an obvious reason as you'll see...

S: The most urgent requests are for your comments on Israel's intentions in Lebanon and what you see as the outcome of this violence. Other readers asked about a related issue, if the Palestinians will ever see an end to their suffering at the hands of Israel.

MATTHEW: I shall speak about the factors that are not apparent to the eye, but to quickly ease your wondering, first I say that the collective assessment at this station is that there will be a short time of retaliation for Israel's bombing of Lebanon, but the fighting will not escalate into all-out warfare between those two countries or pull in neighboring countries. What we see in Earth's energy field of potential is what will be perceived as "cooler" heads prevailing, but actually it will be "lighter" hearts. Light is continually intensifying as Earth is ascending and people are responding in two ways: the higher frequencies that are creating more fear, desperation and rash decisions in those who are darkly-inclined are renewing spiritual awareness and demands for peaceful settlements in light-filled people.

To address Israel's intentions in Lebanon, I clarify that the intentions are of the Zionists in control there, not the country's people who long have been weary of warring and destruction within their borders and in nearby nations. If questioned with the assurance of safety, most Israelis would acknowledge their leaders’ outrageous strikes in Lebanon and decades of brutally unfair treatment of Palestinians. The people of Israel are longing for peace and living in concert with their neighbors—this is true of ALL countries’ peoples! It is the dark minds in government or military leadership wherever warfare has been waged, civil or international, that are bent on conquering and oppressing others, and these leaders are controlled by the behind-the-scenes top power-mongers of the Illuminati, whose entire kid and caboodle of intentions will never bear fruit.

In reply to the second question, I repeat what I have said in previous messages: The greatest change underway on your planet is within all of you. Light receptive people will accompany Earth on her journey, with love energy magnifying as she progresses toward her destination, and those who cling to their dark ways will not go along. When only light beings reside in your world, Israelis and Palestinians will live together in friendship and cooperation, as will peoples of all nations. This is not centuries off—stimulated by the light, reconciliation of age-old differences and release of bitterness is underway.

Now then, the unseen major factors I mentioned. I did touch upon some, but it is necessary to see all of these influences in context of the entire Mideast situation. That region has been a hotbed of violence almost continuously from the time when greed, competition and betrayal came with the first civilizations that arrived on the planet and settled there, thus karmic balancing has been in effect ever since. But even though the relentless negativity in the area started in antiquity, it is "fresh" karmic lessons that are being completed. A second factor is, the higher frequencies in which Earth is revolving are magnifying dominant characteristics in human nature, making the "good" stronger than ever and the same with the "bad," as you could view these opposites. This has led to desperation in Zionist leaders who have been controlling not only Israel's politics, but influencing major happenings globally; they are making obvious foolhardy decisions like "overkill" retaliation to an incident and continuing to suppress the Palestinian populace. Another factor is God's honoring of Earth's desire that no more multinational wars may shed blood on her body, and if need be, our space family will prevent this without the population at large becoming aware of their involvement. And last, what is happening throughout the Mideast—indeed, your world!—is that energy momentum, long ago set in motion, now is on an accelerated course to play itself out so the Golden Age can be ushered in.

Israel kills 34 civilians in strikes (July 15, 2006)
BEIRUT (Reuters) - Israel killed at least 34 civilians on Saturday, including 15 children, in air strikes meant to punish Lebanon for letting Hizbollah guerrillas menace the Jewish state's northern border. Israel's bombing of Lebanese roads, bridges, ports and airports, as well as Hizbollah targets, is its most destructive onslaught since a 1982 invasion to expel Palestinian forces. For the first time, ports in Christian areas were bombarded and a helicopter missile hit a lighthouse on Beirut's seafront. Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora demanded an immediate U.N.-backed cease-fire, denouncing Israel for turning his country into a "disaster zone". He appealed for foreign aid. An Israeli missile incinerated a van in southern Lebanon, killing 20 people, among them 15 children, in the deadliest single attack of the campaign launched by Israel after Hizbollah captured two of its soldiers and killed eight on Wednesday. Police said the van was carrying two families fleeing the village of Marwaheen after Israeli loudspeaker warnings to leave their homes. Many of the bodies were charred and broken. Other raids on roads, ports and petrol stations in north, east and south Lebanon killed 17 people and wounded 37, security sources said. They included five civilians killed in a house bombed in the southern border village of Houla. At least 106 people, all but four of them civilians, have been killed in Israel's four-day-old assault, which has choked Lebanon's economy and prompted tourists and foreigners to flee.

Bush Rejects Lebanon's Call for Cease-Fire
President Bush rejected Lebanon's calls for a cease-fire in escalating Mideast violence on Friday, saying only that Israel should try to limit civilian casualties as it steps up attacks on its neighbor.

WASHINGTON · A new Middle East war is under way, Middle East analysts and scholars say, with the next, imminent step very likely to be another Israeli invasion and at least temporary occupation of southern Lebanon. The only question, they say, is whether Syria will get involved in the fighting -- considered a serious possibility -- and how the conflict will affect the international faceoff with Iran over its nuclear program. Report: Israel gives Syria ultimatum (15 July 2006),7340,L-3275886,00.html
The London-based Arabic language newspaper Al-Hayat reported Saturday that "Washington has information according to which Israel gave Damascus 72 hours to stop Hizbullah’s activity along the Lebanon-Israel border and bring about the release the two kidnapped IDF soldiers or it would launch an offensive with disastrous consequences." The report said "a senior Pentagon source [?!?] warned that should the Arab world and international community fail in the efforts to convince Syria to pressure Hizbullah into releasing the soldiers and halt the current escalation Israel may attack targets in the country." Al-Hayat quoted the source as saying that “the US cannot rule out the possibility of an Israeli strike in Syria,” this despite the fact that the Bush administration has asked Israel to “refrain from any military activity that may result in civilian casualties.” 'Hizbullah made the same mistake' The report also mentioned that President George W. Bush has repeatedly put much of the blame for the recent escalation on Syria. “It is no coincidence that the Hizbullah operation comes at a time when the international community is working to impose sanctions on Iran due to its nuclear program and settle the score with Syria by establishing an international court to try those behind the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri,” the Pentagon source said. According to the source, Hizbullah made the same mistake as Hamas when it did not predict the ramifications of its actions and ignored the regional and international changes since the fall of Saddam Hussein. The source said that Israel has indicated that it “will not end its military activity until a new situation is created that will prevent Syria and Iran from using terror organizations, such as Hamas and Hizbullah, to threaten its security.”

Israel Steps Up Assault on Beirut Suburbs (15 July 2006)

Israel Enters Lebanon After 2 Soldiers Are Kidnapped
The Lebanese guerrilla group Hezbollah on Wednesday morning seized two Israeli soldiers in a brazen raid along Israel's border with Lebanon. Israel immediately responded by sending an armored force into southern Lebanon for the first time in six years.

Israeli Jets Strike Airport in Beirut
Israel struck targets in Beirut and south Lebanon today in retaliation for a cross-border assault by the guerrilla group Hezbollah, prompting President Bush to express concern that the Israeli actions might "topple" the Lebanese government.

Israel Says Hundreds of Targets Hit in Lebanon

US plans $A280m jet fuel sale to Israel (15 July 2006)
The Pentagon notified Congress of plans to sell Israel jet fuel valued at up to $US210 million ($A280 million) "to keep peace and security in the region". "The proposed sale of the JP-8 aviation fuel will enable Israel to maintain the operational capability of its aircraft inventory," the Pentagon's Defense Security Cooperation Agency said in notice required by law. (...) "The jet fuel will be consumed while (Israel's) aircraft (are) in use to keep peace and security in the region," the notice to Congress said. It said the sale - which Congress may block if both houses were to enact resolutions rejecting it within 30 days - would not affect the basic military balance in the region.

Britain and world set for 'hard landing' (16 July 2006),,2095-2271824,00.html
Fears are growing of a sharp slowdown in the global economy, triggered by big increases in energy prices and rising interest rates. Economists at HSBC say there is a greater risk of a "hard landing" for both the world economy and Britain. Oil prices hit a record of more than $78 a barrel on Friday, driven up by the escalating Middle East conflict. At the same time the Bank of Japan ended its zero interest-rate policy by raising its key rate, for the first time in six years, to 0.25%. (...) Muhammad-Ali Zainy, a senior energy economist at the Centre for Global Energy Studies, said: “Oil could hit $80 or higher this week if the situation worsens. If a shortage of oil develops, the price will go up tremendously. It will skyrocket. We might see it hit $100 if, say, a hurricane in the US causes some destruction to facilities.” CLIP

In Gaza, Right Target, but the Wrong People Die (July 12, 2006 )
GAZA - Israeli intelligence identified the correct target, a three-story concrete house on the northern edge of Gaza City where top Hamas military men were holding a meeting, including Muhammad Deif, the head of the military wing, sought by Israel for more than a decade, and Raed Saad, his top aide. The Israeli air force hit the target accurately at 3 a.m. local time today, causing the back of the house to collapse into a concrete sandwich, while the front of the house teetered backwards, resting on the rubble behind. But the top men of Hamas's secretive military wing, who have held a captured Israeli soldier since June 25, escaped, although with apparently moderate injuries, even after another Israeli missile was fired on a car fleeing the scene.Instead, the bombing killed nine members of the Salmiyeh family, a father, mother and seven of the couple's 10 children, aged 7 to 18, who were on the upper floors of the house. To hear the views of neighbors and onlookers, the attack was another example of wanton killing, of the Israeli disregard for Palestinian life. From Israel's point of view, the meeting was a perfectly justified target and another example of the irresponsibility of Hamas in putting civilian lives at risk. (...) Israeli troops consolidated their new positions today after entering central Gaza for the first time in this offensive. Israeli troops and armor, backed by helicopter gunships and armed drones, moved through the Kissufim crossing and cut Gaza into two. The Israeli troops moved along the road formerly used only by the settlers who were pulled out of Gaza a year ago, past the old Abu Houli checkpoint and all the way to the sea south of Deir El Baleh, the Israeli Army said. The troops were on the outskirts of that city and of Khan Yunis, and supported by Israeli naval ships, they prevented any traffic between north and south Gaza, where the captured corporal is believed to be held.In exchanges of gunfire near Deir El Balah late today, Israeli troops killed five Palestinian militants and wounded seven more, Palestinian security and medical officials said. Earlier, another five Palestinian fighters were killed in the same area in another firefight.Israeli troops continued to hold positions in southern Gaza near the airport, but some of them moved north to join the newly entered forces. Israel also continued to shell north Gaza around Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahiya. CLIP

Dahr Jamail | "This Is Going to Be a Big War"
Dar Jamail asks, "Now that the US military/Rumsfeld (who was just in Baghdad) and Khalilzad have declared war on the Shia Mehdi Army, accusing them of terrorism, all bets are off. Of course, the timing of this with Israelis attacks against Hezbollah couldn't be more perfect. Coincidence?"

American Policy in Middle East Caught in "a Perfect Storm"
"Rarely can United States policy in the Middle East have been in such disarray as now. Events in Iraq are a fair approximation of civil war, while after a brief display of smiles, Iran is more truculent than ever over its nuclear ambitions. As for Israel, far from moving towards peace with its neighbors, the Jewish state is embroiled in an escalating, two-front confrontation with Lebanon and Syria to its north, and with the Palestinians in its midst," writes Rupert Cornwell.

Israel broke humanitarian law by inflicting "collective punishment" on Palestinians after an Israeli soldier was captured, Switzerland has said. Switzerland is the home of the Geneva
Conventions, which set out the rules of armed conflict. It is the Swiss government's responsibility to convene and host conferences when changes are needed. "A number of actions by the Israeli Defence Force in their offensive against the Gaza Strip have violated the principle of proportionality ... and are to be seen as forms of collective punishment, which is forbidden," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

ISRAEL'S CRIMES [Letter signed by leading Brits, including London mayor Ken Livingstone],,1818200,00.html
The Israeli government's behavior at present is to be condemned. The failure of our government to speak out against Israel's oppression of the Palestinian population is complicit with those actions of the EU, the US and Israel. It is, in effect, a coordinated attempt to collectively punish the Palestinian people for electing a government of which they disapprove. Having lectured the people of the Middle East about democracy for decades, Europe and the US are seeking to trample upon the democratic rights of the Palestinian people. The suspension of aid by the EU and the US, the withholding of Palestinian taxes by Israel, and Israel's illegal blockade are crimes against the Palestinian people. They are creating a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and the West Bank and have emboldened Israel to sustain an unrelenting bomb and missile barrage, which regularly kills innocent children and other noncombatants in violation of the fourth Geneva convention which protects civilians under occupation. Israel has bombed the only power station in Gaza, destroying electricity and water supplies to hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, and forcing tens of thousands to flee from their homes. These are crimes against humanity. Israel has now kidnapped a quarter of the parliament elected by the Palestinians, and half of its democratically elected government. They join thousands of other Palestinians illegally kidnapped or imprisoned, including over 300 children.

I don’t know what has happened to Cpl. Gilad Shalit. I don’t know if he was captured, or, if he was, I don’t know how he was captured. Frankly, I don’t even know that he actually exists apart from the pictures of him that we have all seen. One hopes that these are all questions that will eventually be answered. I do know, however, that there is something extraordinarily odd about the story the Israeli Defence Force claim is behind his disappearance. In particular it’s the part about the tunnel which I can’t get to grips with. As an engineer I’ve given the notion of digging a tunnel which the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs tells us was some 650 metres long, [1] dug under sand across the Gaza border into Israel some thought. I’m beginning to wonder whether this is actually feasible especially considering that it would have to be built covertly and across the terrain that Israel claims. A 650 metre long covert tunnel being constructed under sand is a considerable undertaking the logistics of which would be enormous. (...) Now, 0.9m wide x 0.9m high x 650m long tunnel would require 526 cubic metres of excavation to be removed at, say, 1.3 tonnes per cubic metre if dry, that’s 684 tonnes of dirt to dispose of. A good three-axle semi trailer would take about 30 tonnes a load so that’s about 23 semi-trailer loads. (...) All of this means that Israeli observation conditions of the area is very good. Very little over a period of time would escape surveillance their. The bottom line is that it would be impossible to build a tunnel, especially under these conditions of secrecy that one needs to ask; was there really a tunnel? And, if not, then what’s the real story? Why have the Israelis lied – again?

In the name of forcing the release of a single soldier, Israel has seized members of a democratically elected government; bombed its interior ministry, the prime minister's offices and a school; threatened another sovereign state (Syria) with a menacing overflight; dropped leaflets from the air, warning of harm to the civilian population if it does not "follow all orders" of the Israel Defense Forces; loosed nocturnal "sound bombs" under orders from the Israeli prime minister to "make sure no one sleeps at night in Gaza"; fired missiles into residential areas, killing children; and demolished a power station that was the sole generator of electricity and running water for hundreds of thousands of Gazans.Besieged Palestinian families, trapped in a locked-down Gaza, are down to one meal a day, eaten in candlelight. Yet their desperate conditions go largely ignored by a world accustomed to extreme Israeli measures in the name of security. . . The latest attacks by Israel in Gaza, ostensibly on behalf of a single soldier, recall the comments by extremist Rabbi Yaacov Perrin, in his eulogy for U.S. Jewish settler Baruch Goldstein, who in 1994 massacred 27 Palestinians praying in the Hebron mosque. "One million Arabs," Perrin declared, "are not worth a Jewish fingernail."Israelis, too, are a traumatized people, and their nation's current actions are driven in part by a hard determination, born of the Holocaust, to "never again go like sheep to the slaughter." But if "never again" drives the politics of reprisal, few seem to notice that the reprisals themselves are obscenely out of scale to the provocation: For every crude Qassam rocket falling harmlessly, far from its target, dozens, sometimes hundreds of shells rain down on the Palestinians. For one missing soldier, a million and a half Gazans are made to suffer. In Israel, today, it is "never again" gone mad.

Israel has Crossed a Moral Boundary by Rabbi Michael Lerner
(...) But this week it's impossible as a Jew and as an American to not notice that a new human rights violation by Israel has taken place which manages to surpass many of its previous violations in cruelty and in the outrage it has generated. Anyone has ever faced the crippling heat of the desert-like conditions of southern Israel or the Gaza strip knows the desperation for water that comes each summer. So when Israel bombed and destroyed the electricity system for 1.2 million Gazans and thereby made all electric pumps inoperable, they inflicted a collective punishment on the entire Gazan population. (...) Moreover, the outrage in Israel about this "kidnap" reflects a huge level of systematic denial going on in the consciousness of Israelis and many who support its policies --because virtually every human rights group including the various Israeli human rights organizations has chronicled tens of thousands of acts of "kidnap" of this sort by the IDF against Palestinian civilians, who are then kept in detention for as long as six months without a trial, often facing brutal torture, and then released without ever having been charged with any crime. (...) So the onus is upon us as ordinary citizens to act and act decisively. We need to communicate our concerns to legislators and media. We need to organize demonstrations in front of the offices of our elected officials, and also outside Israeli consulates and those Jewish institutions which continue to use their influence to support Israeli policy even at this moment (there are a few which have spoken out in critique, but very very few). And we need to write to those in power in Israel, starting with Prime Minister Olmert, telling them that even those of us who love Israel and will never let it be destroyed find this particular action unconscionable, demand that Israel immediately rebuild the electricity system, and that Israel stop trying to impose its will with military might but instead sit down with the Palestinians and negotiate a lasting peace.

Oil hits new high as Mideast violence escalates (July 13, 2006)
News of explosions on Nigerian pipelines also puts oil above $76 a barrel - LONDON - Oil prices hit a new intraday high above $76 a barrel Thursday in a market agitated by escalating violence in the Middle East and news of explosions on Nigerian pipelines. Israeli warplanes struck the runways of Beirut's international airport as part of a campaign against Hezbollah, which attacked Israeli border positions Wednesday and captured two soldiers.Adding to market tensions was news that Iran, OPEC's No. 2 supplier, was referred back to the U.N. Security Council Wednesday after nuclear talks failed to yield agreements. "Geopolitics, the markets, Iran and Iraq and Lebanon, all that turmoil is in the front of people's minds and the tension in the region gets the most attention," said Kevin Norrish, energy analyst for Barclays Capital in London. "But, it's also due to the spare capacity in the region, and we've known about this for a while now. It's difficult to replace lost output right now," Norrish said. Light, sweet crude for August delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange was lately up $1.40 at $76.35 a barrel, blowing past the previous intraday high of $75.78 set last Friday. "With little prospect of any good news on Nigeria, Iran and global demand any time soon, the risks remain on the upside and the prospect of a move to, and through, $80 per barrel must be very real, very soon," said Paul J. Harris, head of energy and emissions at Bank of Ireland Global Markets in Dublin, Ireland. The hurricane season in the Gulf of Mexico could be a catalyst for even more price spikes, Harris said. CLIP

Japan Considers Pre-Emptive Strike Against N. Korea
Japan said Monday it was considering whether a pre-emptive strike on the North's missile bases would violate its constitution, signaling a hardening stance ahead of a possible UN Security Council vote on Tokyo's proposal for sanctions against the regime Japan's constitution currently bars the use of military force in settling international disputes and prohibits Japan from maintaining a military for warfare. Tokyo has interpreted that to mean it can have armed troops to protect itself, allowing the existence of its 240,000-strong Self-Defense Forces.

US intelligence ties to Mumbai 7/11 (July 13th, 2006)
On July 11, eight bombs exploded aboard commuter trains in Mumbai, killing 190 people. No group has come forward claiming responsibility. But according to mainstream coverage, such as the yesterday's report in the San Francisco Chronicle by Anna Badkhen, the prime suspects are “militant Islamic groups with ties to Pakistan."What the mainstream press fails to report is the direct connection between the terrorist groups they name, and Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) -- a virtual branch of the American CIA. This in turn leads back to the same (alleged “al-Qaeda”) apparatus also responsible for the Bush administration’s 9/11 and other post-9/11 terror events. Saeed Omar Shiekh and the ISIThe San Francisco Chronicle report, perhaps unwittingly, provides a damning trail directly back to possible covert Anglo-American involvement. (...) How does the US benefit from a destabilization of India?A breakout of war between Pakistan and India favors US geostrategy in a number of ways. The possibilities will undoubtedly be analyzed, in coming weeks and months.Broadly, the collapse of the Indio-Pak peace process opens the political doors for new US military interventions on the Eurasian subcontinent, and a re-strengthening of the US presence on the Eurasian corridor, (which has, in recent months, been weakened by perceived failure of the Bush administration’s Iraq operation). The other geopolitical “games” that benefit from violence in India include the setup towards any military action in Iran, revived operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the continuing superpower chess games with China and Russia. The overriding long-term imperative for all nations, of course, is energy. (...) In the end, as was the case with 9/11, London 7/7, Bali, and every other post-9/11 “terror” calamity, we are left with another horrific tragedy. But we have also been handed a damning new evidence trail that leads to suspects in high places with means, motive, opportunity -- and geostrategy.

Wilson, Plame to Sue Cheney, Rove and Libby
Valerie Plame Wilson and Ambassador Joseph Wilson initiate a civil action against Vice President Cheney, Karl Rove, and Scooter Libby for violations of their constitutional and other legal rights.

No moment of truth?
Cheney, Rove and Libby may be subpoenaed in the Plame-Wilson lawsuit. But will they actually have to say anything on the witness stand?

U.S. accused of kidnappings in Iraq
Congress demands that the Pentagon release documents that could show U.S. forces kidnapped family members of terror suspects.Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has until 5 p.m. Friday to hand over a raft of documents to Congress that might shed new light on detainee abuse in Iraq. The documents could substantiate little-known allegations that U.S. forces have tried to break terror suspects by kidnapping and mistreating their family members. It now appears that kidnapping, scarcely covered by the media, and absent in the major military investigations of detainee abuse, may have been systematically employed by U.S. troops. Salon has obtained Army documents that show several cases where U.S. forces abducted terror suspects’ families. After he was thrown in prison, Cpl. Charles Graner, the alleged ringleader at Abu Ghraib, told investigators the military routinely kidnapped family members to force suspects to turn themselves in. CLIP

Minimum Standards
"The Bush administration, under duress, has finally decided that the minimum standards of the Geneva Conventions are worth paying attention to," writes William Rivers Pitt. "They did not do this because it is right, because it is moral, or because they know that doing so affords a small margin of security to troops in the field. They did so because their hand was forced, and there is no guarantee that their words on the matter will be followed up by actual deeds."

Declassified Gitmo Notes Tell of Widespread Abuse
Providing another indirect view into the lives of detainees held by the US military at Guantanamo Bay, a civil-rights group has released a report detailing what it calls the 'systematic physical, psychological, sexual, medical and religious abuse' of detainees.

Bush's Geneva Convention Decision "Only Partial Compliance"
The Bush administration's belated decision to recognize the applicability of the Geneva Conventions to terrorism suspects in military custody is a step forward, Human Rights Watch said today. But because the Pentagon memorandum that codifies the change does not extend to detainees held by the CIA, it represents only partial compliance with the recent US Supreme Court decision in Hamdan v. Rumsfeld.

Cheney's Office Cultivated Pro-Torture Environment
Steve Clemons writes, "Documents and memos that have already made their way into the public domain make it clear that the Office of the Vice President bears responsibility for creating an environment conducive to the acts of torture and murder committed by US forces in the war on terror."

Joshua Michah Marshall | Toying With Terror Alerts?
"In these perilous days, we must be ready to think the unthinkable," writes Joshua Michah Marshall. "No, I don't mean the possibility of a catastrophic terrorist attack. After 9/11, that's all too easy to imagine. No, I'm talking about a thought that even now seldom forces its way into respectable conversation: the quite reasonable suspicion that the Bush administration orchestrates its terror alerts and arrests to goose the GOP's poll numbers."

TOP U.S. GENERAL: "9/11 WAS FALSE FLAG." (July 11, 2006)
"It's all over"? Major General Albert Stubblebine III, as I mentioned in an earlier post, is the latest in a long line of high-ranking US military officers to openly challenge the official LIE about 9/11. Stubblebine was in charge of Imagery Interpretation for Scientific and Technical Intelligence - a highly specialized area that certainly qualifies him as an expert in the field of electronic intelligence gathering, especially imaging. A friend and colleague who was an officer in US Army Intelligence just informed me that he had served directly under General Stubblebine for many years. So high is my friend's esteem of the General, he had only this to say: "If Stubblebine is standing up to be counted, it's all over". A brief clip of the General's interview is attached.

The problem with having too much globalization knowledge is that you focus upon specific lies, deceptions, and scams while forgetting the most simplistic issues. Such thoughts come to mind when considering that none of our “elected” officials are ever required to address their global governance actions. In fact, they simply refuse to talk about the subject, pretending it doesn’t exist. The entire world is talking about the new global government, which already exists, but American representatives are dead mute on the subject. Worried about being hung, maybe? Every “elected” official knows full well that America is being systematically, secretly, illegally, and bureaucratically dismantled. After all, they’ve been quietly and steadfastly working at global governance for over 100 years. However, they have never been held to account, and they never, ever bring up the subjects of their treasonous legislating and back door dealings. They speak no evil, whatsoever. Instead, they play the terrorism game while double-timing to implement their custom made fascist system of total corporate ownership of the entire world – including “all human resources (translation: all human beings).” CLIP

A Dying Deal in Darfur
"Most Darfurians cannot return home because the government still supports the Janjaweed militias, who continue to rape and pillage across Darfur and eastern Chad.... The specific security guarantee every Darfurian talks about is a United Nations force that will ensure the Janjaweed disarm, and that will protect refugees and help them return home," writes John Prendergast.

Mountaintop Removal Drives Protests
"Anyone concerned about the burning of fossil fuels and resultant climate change is scared beyond words at the prospect of coal usage growing or continuing. But there is an additional side of coal, an even darker one," writes Jan Lundberg.

Smog Damage to Crops Costing Billions
The internal combustion engine contributes massively to global warming, kills around 1.2 million people a year in road accidents and, scientists now warn, is costing billions of dollars in crop damage each year. The villain is a molecule of oxygen called ozone.

Global Warming "Will Cancel Out Western Aid and Devastate Africa"
People in poor nations, while producing much lower carbon emissions than rich countries, could be the biggest victims of climate change. They will have to cope with more droughts, more extreme temperatures and sudden and intense rainfall causing greater food insecurity, loss of income, higher death rates and more diseases.

Aliens implant mini-transmitters in human bodies to control Earth (July 04, 2006)
Ufologists and representatives of traditional sciences continue to argue over whether rumours of the implantation of mysterious mini-transmitters in human bodies have any real basis. UFO researchers talk of an evil alien conspiracy. So much evidence for such implants has accumulated that it is becoming more and more difficult for serious researchers to brush them aside. Pravda.Ru sums up the fantastical explanations. As confirmed by ufologists, for some time now, tiny objects capable of implanting themselves in various parts of the body have been discovered in people: in mucous membranes, under the skin of one's scalp, in the bones of one's arms or legs - on any part of the human body. As a rule, they do not cause significant discomfort and are discovered by chance, for example, in x-ray images, but once brought out into the light, they invariably throw researchers into confusion. These things, it seems, contain mini-transmitters. This discovery was first reported a few years ago by therapeutic doctor Maddy Nolan. She was treating patients on the island of Whidbey (Washington State, USA), when she came across a whole group of adult men and women, every one of whom had these transmitters in their body. In each case it was the same type of subcutaneous implant on the inner leg, just above the knee. They were shaped like tiny cylinders and were so close to the surface of the skin that the affected area had become mildly inflamed and reddened. CLIP

Hidden Truth, Forbidden Knowledge: Dr. Greer's new book: Part 2 - Involvement of bankers and royal families (July 5, 2006)
(...) According to Greer, there's a worldwide control group of about 200 to 300 members who's sitting on these technologies and information. Not everyone in this group has the same ideas or agendas, but the most powerful faction within this group, who has access to all the technologies (mentioned is a spectrum of psychotronic weaponry, powerful supercomputers, advanced bio-science, craft with exotic propulsion systems and control systems linked to thought, and consciousness-linked real-time monitoring systems), is highly violent. Even Lawrance Rockefeller was afraid of the control group, and said to Greer: "My hands are tied... you have to do it... I can't be up there. The family won't have it." In fact, Greer mentions reports of satanic initiations in his book. This is a touchy subject, but completely similar statements, for similar purposes (intimidation; blackmail; selection procedure), can be found in the Belgian X-File witness testimonies ("Opus Dei members are the most brutal"), among other places. In the United States, the Mormon financial empire, David Rockefeller, George Shultz and Bechtel have a lot of involvement with the covert group, although they might be part of different cells. Several defense and aerospace companies have mercenaries working for them who are involved with the sickest parts of the Devil's Disciples motorcycle gang. In England we have the Rothschilds while it seems that the British royal family, at least in the past, doesn't know the whole story. In northern Europe we have some of the same Jewish/Protestant/Atheist businessman of the type that can be found in England and the US. And in southern Europe we have cells within the Vatican, Opus Dei, SMOM, the Jesuits, and some of the other religious orders headed by the catholic "black" nobility (Hans Adam is mentioned by Greer. I would also guess Opus Dei luminaries as Otto von Habsburg, Juan Carlos, the Duke of Savoy, Thurn und Taxis and possibly the Belgian royals have some kind of involvement), who are part of the covert group. According to Greer, this is where the keepers of this information should be found. Hopefully he'll release more information in the future.A strange mix, indeedThe aims of this control group, according to Greer, is to establish a worldwide big brother government and to reduce the world's population to a fraction of what it is today. Apocalyptic worldviews and radical environmental agendas are the reason behind these planned population reductions. The technologies themselves are kept secret, because it would completely and permanently upset the present world order.Supposedly, there is an agenda out there to stage an alien threat on the earth with so-called "alien reproduction vehicles" (ARVs) manned by "programmed life forms" (PLFs). According to Greer, this is really a core issue of the hidden agenda. Already before 9/11, it was claimed that the "terrorist card" would be played some time before the extraterrestrial event would be staged. There's much more to be found in the book, or on the Disclosure Project DVDs and books. Even though the information would ordinarily be labeled as "insane", it's very hard to write off Greer's credentials and accomplishments. He is a medical doctor who ran a busy ER, and he has spoken to quite a number of influential individuals. CLIP

On November 24, 1980, the Associated Press quoted Leonard Bernstein, a globally prominent musical conductor, as saying in reference to the Kennedy assassination, “We don’t dare confront the implications. I think we’re all agreed there was a conspiracy and we don’t want to know. It involves such a powerful high force in what we call the high places, if we do know, everything might fall apart.”This is when I start to deliver what I’ve been hinting at for months as I have referred to the World Money Power or the Society. I say start, because a series will be necessary to convey the complete picture. In order for a few people to exercise the colossal power they do, secrecy is crucial. That’s why so few outside the Society ever heard of it, or if they saw references to it, the meaning would not register. There is indeed a powerful high force in the high places! You must know about them because their existence governs your future to a disturbing extent. They are the source of fiat money; the powers behind central banks; international financiers; warmongers; globalists; cartel monopolists; and the force suppressing precious metals. (...) “There is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive that they better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it.” This was President Woodrow Wilson’s description of The Pilgrims! No other organization remotely approximates such a description. We continue now making the acquaintance of The Pilgrims, New York and London, the two-branch secret Society that dominates world finance through central banks, large commercial and investment banks and multi-governmental banks; and has manipulated silver and gold prices. Message from St. Germain - 14-July-06

As we have often informed you, we have the advantage of seeing into the activities of Earth. We presently see much happening and the Middle East is continuing to become unstable. Much of this is deliberately brought about by the dark forces, who look for situations that can be used to sustain the chaos.

For our part we closely watch the developments and have what you would call inside knowledge. This enables us to counteract some of the plans to escalate the problems. We use the existing circumstances and turn them around to prevent matters getting totally out of hand. As usual the conflicts are fully in your eyes, and it challenges you to take some action to bring calmness and find a peaceful solution.

The voice of those who seek world peace grows stronger, and this gives us the authority to proceed with our plan to bring a halt to wars. As with any individual so with humanity as a whole, we need your “permission” to intervene. Your freewill is the guiding force, and as much as we would like to bring an end to your problems right now, there are other considerations.

What you are going through is conditioning you so that you will know the right response in future. It is generally accepted that Atlantis really existed and met its demise some 10,000 years ago. Imagine the trauma and lasting effect that experience had upon those involved. It would be natural that you would say “never again” and here you are traveling a similar path that also spells disaster. That is, it would if you did nothing about it, and that is your challenge this time around.

Deep within the psyche of so many of you is the memory of the last days of Atlantis. The end was dramatic and quick, but the landmasses were already breaking up a long time beforehand. You saw the signs that pointed the way to destruction and failed to stop them. This time you face a similar problem, and it is no good looking the other way otherwise the inevitable will happen. To your credit there is a strong movement of various groups, that are seeking to bring a halt to the last cabals insane headlong rush into war.

You really are winning this battle, but are unlikely to realize it until the outcome is clearly seen.

There will come a time not too far away when you will look back with incredibility, to think you were instrumental in bringing peace and change to the world. We have never wavered in our expectations about you, and the plan for the end times is safe in your hands. The Creator could alter things at a stroke, but that is not necessary or indeed desirable if you are to leave this cycle with your heads held high. You are far enough down the road to victory to not turn back, you only need to keep focused on the outcome you desire.

People of the Light understand their responsibilities to Man, and never stop working to create the conditions that are favorable to an end of the darkness that engulfs your world at present. You have spent far too long wasting your energies and time preparing for one war after another, and it is now becoming widely accepted that you cannot continue to go on this way. The movement for change continues unabated and it gathers strength through the efforts of the many various groups working for peace.

There will come a time when you will look back at this period, and find it unbelievable that you succeeded in bringing peace to a world that was in turmoil. You will already have risen above the lower dimensions, and know for certainty that there will be no return to the days of old. Your new experience will be in the realms of Light and you will have no worries or the burden of physical needs, and will become co-creators with God. Your every need will be created instantly through your power of thought. You have yet to feel the beauty and joy of the higher dimensions, with their unending creations and wonderful Beings that inhabit them. The pain and heartache of life upon Earth will soon be forgotten, amid the happiness and everlasting love that will surround you. This is your real home and it awaits your return.

I am St.Germain and I am your Guide through this time of change, call on me if you need my strength. I am serving in love to each and every soul, who is also held in the Love of the Creator.

Thank you

St. Germain

Dear brothers & sisters,

We all need to pray for one another, and to love one another. We should always pray for the safety, peace, love and brotherhood for people all over the world. Too bad we can't have an independence day for the entire world. A day of freedom from ignorance, hatred, war, illusions, power and control. A day where we can all love each other as human beings and toss away the weapons of war, and cast out our fears and hatreds from our hearts into the graves. We must mourn the graves of the innocents all over the world, and give the children of the world the hope of a peaceful, loving and beautiful world.

A world full of love and without hatred or fear. A world where we can join hands together and accept one another, regardless of our skin color, ethnic divisions, religion or nationality. If we don't unite as a human race, then we have condemned the future generation of children a dark and very grim future.

Think of love, compassion and peace always...

Merciful God, You made all of the people of the world in Your own image and placed before us the pathway of salvation through different Preachers who claimed to have been Your Saints and Prophets. But, the contradictions (made by us) in the interpretation of Your teachings have resulted in creating divisions, faith based hatreds and bloodshed in the world community. Millions of innocent men, women and children have so far been brutally killed by the militants of several religions who have been committing horrifying crimes against humanity and millions more would not be butchered by them in the future, if You guide and help us find ways to reunite peacefully.

IN THE NAME OF GOD, THE COMPASSIONATE, THE MERCIFUL, look with compassion on the whole human family; take away the controversial teachings of arrogance, divisions and hatreds which have badly infected our hearts; break down the walls that separate us; reunite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and confusion to accomplish Your purposes on earth; that, in Your good time, all nations and races could jointly serve You in justice, peace and harmony. (Amen)

Attention Deficit Americans Are Being Misled to War

by Paul Craig Roberts

A terrible thing is happening, and not enough Americans are aware to be able to do anything about it. Zionists in Israel and in the Bush administration are leading America into war with Iran, Syria, Hizbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Palestine. The consequences for America, Israel and the Middle East will be disastrous, but as long as Washington is in thrall to Zionist paranoia, nothing can be done about it. Bush made this clear on July 14 when he rejected the plea from Lebanon’s prime minister to pressure Israel to stop its attack on Lebanon.

The war began when Bush’s neoconservative government invaded Afghanistan and Iraq under the pretense of "fighting terrorism." Neither front has gone well for America. The Israelis, seeing the growing domestic opposition to Bush’s wars of choice, concluded that they are in danger of losing America’s military intervention in behalf of their Middle East interests. Israel decided to force the issue.

Israel did this by bombing and invading Gaza, from which they had just withdrawn as part of a "Palestinian settlement." Israel’s pretext was the capture of one Israeli soldier in Gaza in retribution for Israel’s genocidal policies toward Palestine. Few Americans know that Israel has forced Palestinians into ghettos and walled them off from their farm lands, schools, and medical treatment.

By slaughtering scores of civilians and destroying the infrastructure of the fragile land in response to the capture of one Israeli soldier, Israel has made it clear that its policy is fire and sword.

Under international law – the identical law that was used to try Nazi war criminals after World War II – Israel’s invasion of Gaza is a monstrous war crime. The United Nations top humanitarian official, Jan Egeland, said that Israel’s attacks on civilians and infrastructure violated international law.

On July 13, the UN Security Council tried to condemn Israel for its criminal invasion of Gaza, but US Ambassador John Bolton, a rabid pro-Israeli zealot, vetoed the Security Council resolution that would have required Israel to halt its illegal and criminal actions in Gaza. Bolton is the UN ambassador who could not get confirmed even in a Republican Senate and was given a recess appointment by Bush in defiance of Congress.

On July 12, Israel invaded Lebanon. The pretext was the capture of two Israeli soldiers in Israeli-occupied Lebanese territory by Hizbollah. In two days Israel has slaughtered scores of Lebanese civilians, destroyed bridges and power plants, attacked the Beruit International Airport and blocked Lebanese ports.

Israel’s over-reactions are calculated to start a wider war. Israel has asserted that the two soldiers captured by Hizbollah are being held in Iran. Israel blames Syria for Hizbollah’s acts. Both Israel and its neoconsevative allies in the Bush government blame Iran and Syria for "attacks on Israel" by Hamas and Hizbollah. No one, least of all Bush, blames Israel’s Palestinian policy.

Israel’s American agents, the neoconservatives, have made it clear for years that their goal is to eliminate every Middle Eastern government that is not ruled by an American puppet friendly to Israel. The people who hold the important positions in Bush’s government have frankly stated this position over and over. For example, a decade ago in 1996 a group of American neoconservatives who have comprised much of the sub-cabinet in the Bush administration wrote that Israel could gain American sympathy by blaming aggression on Hizbollah, Syria, and Iran and then seizing the strategic initiative by "engaging Hizbollah, Syria, and Iran as the principal agents of aggression in Lebanon."

First, however, Iraq would have to be taken out. The first focus, said the neocons, should be "on removing Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq – an important Israeli strategic objective in its own right."

Gentle reader, does it not strike you as strange that US citizens, most of whom have held presidential appointments in the Bush administration, are so concerned to plan how Israel can draw upon US blood and treasure to achieve Israel’s objectives in the Middle East?

We certainly have to hand it to Israel and its American neoconsevative agents. They have succeeded on entirely false pretenses in launching two wars in the Middle East and now they have prepared the ground for a general conflagration.

Who is to stop them? The Condi Rice State Department? Be serious.

The Democratic Party? What a laugh!

The power mad Republicans who have sold their souls?

The Christian Evangelicals who believe the destruction of huge numbers of people in the Middle East is the lead up to "the Rapture" in which they will be wafted up to Heaven?

The UN Security Council, where the US never fails to veto any resolution or sanction against Israel?

The US and Israel haven’t the troops needed to defeat and occupy Syria, Hizbollah and Iran with conventional forces. Pentagon documents have described two ways in which the Middle East can be secured for Israel. One is the use of nuclear weapons. The other is the destruction of all infrastructure – power plants, water and sewage systems, hospitals, schools, roads, bridges, ports, and a reduction of much housing to rubble by powerful conventional bombs. In other words, an air war that never ends.

Most Americans are incapable of identifying their own US Representative and Senators. Everything they "know" about the Middle East comes from Israeli propaganda: Israel is the innocent victim, and all Arabs are terrorists with suicide bombs.

America is being led by a handful of traitors into participating in "regime change" that might succeed or might dethrone our bought and paid for puppets in Egypt, Pakistan, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. If Pakistan were to fall to Islamist forces, Muslims would have a nuclear capability as a counterpart to Israel’s and America’s.

Muslims have many reasons to hate us for generations of oppression and interference in their internal affairs. As Iraq has proven, it is not easy to break their spirit. Out-gunned and out-manned, they still resist, motivated by anger and pride.

Many Americans may think that "ragheads" mean nothing to them. But when $200 oil means Americans cannot commute to their jobs in their gas-guzzlers from their far-flung suburbs, or Russia and China intervene because American-Israeli interests conflict with their own, the world becomes a different place for inattentive, uninvolved, complicit Americans.

Lebanon pays for Hezbollah's sins

A report from Lebanon's south, ravaged by retaliatory Israeli strikes.

By Mitchell Prothero

July 14, 2006 | Beirutis expected the worst when word came Wednesday that Hezbollah, the militant group based in south Lebanon, had killed eight Israeli soldiers near the border and seized two more. The region was already on edge, with the Israeli siege of Gaza in its 18th day following the Palestinian kidnapping of an Israel Defense Forces soldier. Everyone knew that Israeli retaliation would be severe. The only question was whether Israel would confine itself to attacks on Hezbollah, or if it would hold Lebanon responsible and launch attacks across the board. Israel chose the latter course and has meted out savage punishment to this small country.

On Wednesday, IDF strikes destroyed the bridges connecting south Lebanon to the rest of the country. By nightfall, Israeli fighters had blasted the major highways, essentially sealing off the southern third from the center of the country. Early morning Thursday, warplanes bombed Rafiq Hariri Beirut International Airport, knocking out the runways. Minutes later, an Israeli rocket struck Hezbollah's television station, al-Manar, wounding one person and sending local media into a frenzy over access to the scene that dispersed only when an IDF fighter screamed overhead and people ran for cover.

And so it continued all day. Bridges used just an hour before were smashed into rubble. Gunboats off the coast fired wildly into Palestinian militant camps. Attack helicopters ignited a fuel depot at the airport, while leaflets rained down upon the residents of the rundown Hezbollah-controlled neighborhoods in southern Beirut, warning them to flee or face further airstrikes aimed at the Hezbollah leadership. The IDF also announced a total blockade of the country by air and sea. Late Thursday night it bombed the only major route out of Lebanon, the road to Damascus. In all, Israeli airstrikes were reported to have killed at least 55 civilians.

Israeli generals have said they want to deal Hezbollah a devastating blow and permanently clear the group away from Israel's northern border. Whether they can achieve this is uncertain. While there is no way the militant group can stand up to this kind of aerial assault, Hezbollah is a much more formidable adversary than the Palestinians militants in Gaza. The Islamic Resistance of Lebanon, as Hezbollah prefers to be called, is probably the most competent organization in the entire Arab Middle East. No other Arab army has defeated the mighty IDF, one of the most powerful armies in the world, as Hezbollah did in 2000 when it drove it out of south Lebanon. Syria has been whipped half a dozen times at Israeli hands. Jordan has lost so much land and earned so many refugees that it chose to anger the entire rest of the Arab world (and two-thirds of its population) and sue for a long-term peace deal just to avoid future losses. And Egypt? The most powerful and populous state in the Arab world doesn't even want Gaza back, let alone have another go at the IDF.

Hezbollah remains the only military force that the Israelis really respect, based on its top-notch training and equipment supplied by Iran, and a brand of Shiite Islam that lends both extreme discipline and total fearlessness. Hezbollah boasts thousands of fighters, many battle-hardened, backed by a significant number of artillery pieces and rockets. It constitutes no threat to invade and hold northern Israel. But the daring and successful operation it pulled off on Wednesday shows that it cannot be taken lightly. Ambushing an IDF Humvee patrol, Hezbollah forces killed three Israeli soldiers and seized two more. When the Israelis sent tanks across the border in pursuit, a powerful cache of buried explosives destroyed one tank, killing its four-man crew. And in the face of massive air, artillery and naval strikes against Lebanese infrastructure and military targets, Hezbollah has managed to fire hundreds of rockets and artillery shells into northern Israel; late on Thursday, rockets were reported to have struck the major Israeli city of Haifa. Even the U.S. Navy reportedly pulled its ships out of Haifa's ports.

On Wednesday, Hezbollah leader Sayeed Hassan Nasrallah proclaimed that his group had kidnapped the soldiers and set a major prisoner swap as the condition of their release.

Israel rejected any negotiations and launched massive retaliatory strikes. "The Lebanese government needs to understand that there is a price for its inaction. They need to understand that if they are not able to deal with terror, we will have no choice but to fight with them," IDF chief of staff Dan Halutz told the Israeli newspaper Haaretz on Thursday.

But while Israel's actions could be defended as a deterrent against an act of aggression, they also amount to the collective punishment of the Lebanese society and government, which have little say over Hezbollah's activities.

The situation puts the Lebanese government and military in an extremely tough position. The government simply cannot control Hezbollah. It cannot take it on politically because of its support among Lebanon's Shiite Muslim population, in a country where almost everyone still votes for their religion's candidate regardless of merit. Nor can the well-trained but tiny and underequipped Lebanese army take on the Shiite militia.

Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora has had to walk a political tightrope over Hezbollah's close relationship with Syria. Now, Hezbollah's actions and the Israeli response have put him in an almost surreal position. A favorite of the Bush administration for throwing out the Syrian military occupation last year in the wake of Rafiq Hariri's murder (widely believed by Syrian agents), Lebanon's new government has been gently pushing Hezbollah into political dialogue, with the goal of disarming the group or integrating it into the Lebanese army. But now Siniora's government faces wanton destruction at the hands of America's other favorite Middle East country, which is demanding two kidnapped soldiers that Siniora simply cannot deliver.

Most of the country's non-Shiites distrust Hezbollah for remaining an armed group outside government control, and join the Shiites in disliking Israel for its policies in occupied Palestine and its bloody history in Lebanon. The past two days are forcing people to choose sides, but most are refusing to do so. They appear to see this as a fight between two sworn enemies with a long history that has little to do with them directly.

So far the Lebanese seem to be choosing to hoard bottled water and stay quiet. It's hard to imagine them picking either side, even as they watch their highways, airports and villages being bombed, while hordes of Arab tourists flee to Damascus, taking with them the tourism money Lebanon counts on to survive.

But down in the south, in a village called al-Dweir, amid Hezbollah's strongest supporters, the case is clear-cut. They regard Hezbollah as having mounted a military operation against a military target -- and see civilians paying the price.

At about 4 a.m. Thursday morning, Israeli warplanes bombed the home of Sayeed Adel Akkash, a Shiite cleric probably associated with Hezbollah. The bomb flattened the home and killed Akkash, his wife and their 10 children, leaving only three bodies identifiable as such and a surprisingly small pile of body parts.

Dr. Yousef Akkash is a French-educated surgeon and Adel's brother. It is his job to oversee the funeral, as his father is too distraught to do so. He enters the basement of a mosque near the family home and joins two doctors whose job it is to separate out body parts and try to figure out which part should go in which grave. It's extremely messy. Finally, with a cleric's approval, they decide to put the 12 mangled corpses into six graves.

Dr. Adel claims to not know if his brother really was a Hezbollah official but says he hopes it's true, "so there can be some reason behind this tragedy."

He's upset and angry but can still talk of peace with the people who did this. "All people want peace," he tells me in English. "As do the people of Lebanon, but we need justice amid this occupation. We want peace and justice for all people, Muslim and Christian, Arab and Jew."

But in the makeshift morgue he holds up part of a baby's body and asks the recoiling reporters to come closer.

"Come see the arms and weapons my brother had," he says, holding up a tiny arm. "Here is your 'terrorist.'"

Denials aside, this is clearly a Hezbollah funeral, as shown by the flags all around it and the arrival of a bunch of men who are clearly part of the group. And the funeral is being watched. Even as we can hear Hezbollah rockets being fired at Israel just a few miles away, the constant buzz of a unmanned surveillance drone can be heard. And from time to time, an IDF fighter roars overhead.

A man named Tahir Ahmed asks me where I am from. When I tell him, without a trace of hostility he asks me to "tell the American people we are thankful for your country because it gives weapons to Israel that are used to kill our children."

I begin to talk to Tahir Ahmed about this statement, and he elaborates. "We distinguish between your people and your government. But if your country did not cover Israel, then Israel could not do these things. There is a big error in the mentality of the American people. Because of movies and Hollywood, you think like cowboys. There is a good guy and a bad guy. And you see the Arab as the bad guy and the Jew as a good guy. It is naive to see only good and bad in the world."

"If Hezbollah kidnapped two soldiers, this is a matter between two military groups. Why do they involve children? She was not attacking Tel Aviv,” he says of Akkash's 6-month-old daughter, killed in the strike. "She was sleeping with her family. I hope the American people think of a 6-month-old-girl killed with an American fighter, flown by an Israeli pilot. If she was with a soldier at the front, then these things happen. But she was asleep with her family."

Late Thursday, Israeli officials said they were not ruling out a ground invasion. For many Lebanese, caught once again in a fight not of their making, an old and terrible history seems to be repeating itself.

New U.S. Foreign Policy for Palestine; Starvation

By Mike Whitney

05/08/06 "ICH" -- -- The United States and Israel have finally agreed on a plan to resolve the decades-long Israel-Palestine conflict. Israel will continue lobbing missiles into civilian areas of Gaza and the West Bank while the US cuts off food and other vital aid to the territories. That way they can maximize the human suffering while preparing the people for a violent death.

This is not what Palestinians bargained for when they accepted the western-model of democracy.

The Road Map has become a cul de sac of aggression, subjugation and outright murder.

I wonder how many Palestinians would have stayed home if they knew how they’d be treated for voting for the party of their choice?

Presently, Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza are experiencing what United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) John Ging calls, “the countdown to a humanitarian crisis”. In a wanton act of collective punishment, Palestinians are being deprived of food, money and access to the outside world. As Jimmy Carter says in his article, “Punishing the Innocent is a Crime” “Overwhelmingly (the victims) are school teachers, nurses, social workers, police officers, farm families, who are just hoping for a better life”.

Their crime?

They voted for the wrong party; the party that will not fulfill its primary obligation to act as Israel’s security apparatus in the territories.

Americans won’t believe this, but the vote for Hamas was actually a vote for peace. Palestinians were sick of the ineffectiveness and corruption of the PA and wanted a change. That certainly doesn’t imply they were offering their support for terrorism; quite the contrary. As Carter notes, “Public opinion polls conducted after the January parliamentary election shows that 80% of Palestinians still want a peace agreement with Israel based on the international road map premises.”

This is statistical evidence that the vast majority of Palestinians voted for the party that they believed would produce a negotiated settlement with Israel and resolve the conflict according to international agreements and UN resolutions.

Simply put, they want peace.

Never the less, Israel is doing everything in its power to destroy the newly-elected government and plunge the territories into chaos. In the last few weeks, there have been nearly daily attacks on Gaza including a bombing raid on a soccer field which, according to the AP, “killed 5 Palestinians, including 4 in the same family”. The failed assassination attempt left body parts and pools of blood scattered across the playfield.

This steady up-tick in the violence suggests a coherent strategy to increase the provocations until Hamas breaks its year and a half-long truce and retaliates. Then Israel will be able to crush the leadership in one fell swoop.

Hamas is being vilified for not “renouncing terrorism” and for “failing to recognize Israel”. Both charges are intentionally misleading and show how the language of the conflict has been fashioned to serve Israeli policy objectives. In fact, Hamas goals are no different than those of the international community and articulated in countless UN resolutions.

Just recently, Hamas prime minister designate Ismail Haniyeh reaffirmed his commitment to recognize Israel if Israel conformed to resolution 242 which establishes the 1967 borders as the legitimate boundaries of the Israeli state. Israel, of course, rejects these boundaries as inconsistent with its plans for an expanded Israel on Palestinian land. Regardless, Hamas refusal to recognize Israel is nothing more than a demand that Israel accept international law.

The “renounce terrorism” charge is equally disingenuous. Hamas has maintained its “hudna” or cease-fire for the last 18 months even though Israel never suspended operations in the West Bank or Gaza. Hamas was not involved in the recent Tel Aviv suicide-attack and may abandon violence altogether to pursue a political track. All the same, Hamas should not give up its rights to resist occupation just to appease Israel. “Armed struggle” is enshrined in international law as a legitimate way to shake off military occupation. Haniyeh has neither the right nor the power to repeal that law.

Hamas is expected to accept the precedent that was set during Oslo when Arafat was forced in 1988 to “renounce all forms of terrorism." The American media has been abuzz with accusations that Hamas is refusing to respect the “restraints and decisions taken by previously elected parliaments” (Tom Friedman)

But what’s the fuss al about? It was Ariel Sharon who announced the end of Oslo and then quickly consigned the Road Map to “formaldehyde”. Hamas rejection of these prior decisions is nothing more than tacit support for Sharon’s pronouncements. Even Tom Friedman can’t be too upset about that.

The real problem with Hamas is not terrorism, which only strengthens Israel’s presence in the territories, but that it will never be a trusted ally in subjugating its own people on Israel’s behalf. That is its unpardonable crime.

Israel has a reliable friend in Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian Karzai, who makes no demands on Israel and has done everything he can to obstruct the new government. If Abbas spent even half the time he devotes to scolding Hamas on pressuring Israel for a settlement, his party might still be in power. Instead, he has turned into a comical Israeli-stooge with more support in the Knesset than among his own countryman.

Israel may be able to pull off its latest coup and topple the Hamas government. Currently, 165,000 PA employees have not received their salaries for weeks and Israel is withholding $300 million in revenue collected from Palestinian taxes. Food and supplies have been cut off as well as $200 million in charitable donations from Saudi Arabia and Iran. The US and Israel are now using a slow-rolling famine to punish the Palestinian people and affect regime change in Ramallah.

PA finance minister Omar Abul Razeg said, “There won’t just be a financial collapse. There will be chaos and violence all over the area. In short, not only Hamas will suffer, but everyone else as well….. Muslims around the world now view the United States as an evil power hell bent on tormenting Muslims”.

Connecting The Dots - Zionists & 911

Masterful Plan Or Masterful Crime?

Was it only a coincidence that so many rich and powerful Jewish Americans played a pivotal role, or performed a supporting role in the alleged "terrorist attack" on September 11, 2001 and the "War on Terror" that followed? Likewise, under closer scrutiny, why do we find so many Israelis, in the exact same locations as the alleged Islamic plotters and terrorists? Curious coincidence or clever design?

For nearly five years we have been permitted a piecemeal glimpse, partial views of 9-11, but without seeing the bigger picture. Is there a Big Picture, you ask? This essay will attempt to connect the dots, identify some of the curious players, individuals and groups who, quite often, seemed to serve a dual loyalty. The peculiar irony was the principle loyalty seemed to be to Israel.

Let us begin with what we know. Later we shall speculate. Still later we shall draw logical conclusions.

What does the masterful motto, "By Way of Deception Thou Shalt Do War," mean to the average American? Surprisingly, most Americans have never heard of the Mossad motto.

It means a war within a war, enclosed by a greater deceptive war. If you understand the clever goals and can comprehend the tactics, one then might begin to grasp the bigger picture. We might then begin to understand 9-11 and all that happened since and continues to happen.

The clues abound; the players still enjoy the spotlight; many have enriched themselves; others have been awarded honors, medals and lofty positions. Almost all those lofty positions and awards were awarded by other like themselves. Those awards and accolades were paid for with the blood, sweat, toil and tears of others.

By Way of Deception

Wealthy Zionist Larry Silverstein built World Trade Center Building 7 in 1985. The building was part of the WTC complex, owned by the New York Port Authority. WTC-7, ostensibly a US government building, housed offices of the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Secret Service, CIA and Security & Exchange Commission (SEC). Late in the afternoon of September 11, 2001 Larry Silverstein, for all intents and purposes, had WTC-7 demolished.

Only months before, well-connected Zionist Lewis Eisenberg, Chairman of the New York Port Authority, which owned the WTC, leased the complex for 99 years to fellow Zionist Silverstein. How or why that transaction took place was never discussed. At the time, the WTC was considered, by many, as an architectural white elephant and less than desirable piece of real estate.

Meanwhile, well-connected Zionists had attained top positions of power throughout the Bush administration, and within the three branches of the US government. Many had signed a sort of Globalist Declaration of Independence. The document mirrored an earlier Israeli manifesto. The signers slowly consolidated power in America, unbeknownst to most Americans.

The PNAC-Project for The New American Century -- was first written by Zionists in Israel as an Israeli policy papers, "A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm," before becoming an important blueprint for foreign policy here. Many of the same authors contributed to both papers. On the surface both papers seem pragmatic, almost admirable, filled with diplomatic language. Yet if we understand the motives and comprehend the methods-By Way of Deception -- we may discern the Big Picture.

Douglas Feith ascended to power at the Pentagon, as did fellow Zionists Paul Wolfowitz, Dov Zakheim and Richard Perle. Most, if not all, of these top military strategists curiously possessed dual passports: Israeli and US passports.

"He served Likud interests," said Colonel Karen Kwiatkowski of her superior, Douglas Feith, head of the Pentagon's Office of Special Plans (OSP). "I don't think those are the same as Israel's interests, but instead those of a faction within Israel. He engineered Likud (Right wing Israeli party) outlined and desired actions by the US and, in Feith's mind, I think he did it for Israel. I just don't have any countervailing information that would suggest he has ever done anything for America."

Likewise what role did Wolfowitz play? And Perle? And Zakheim? All Pentagon top officials. How does one hold a foreign passport -- Israeli -- while holding Top Secret US security clearances? Does anyone see a conflict of interests here? One could argue these men were great patriots -- but for which country? Philosophically they all shared the same goal: Strengthen Israel; weaken the tyrannical Islamic states; hasten US hegemony of scarce resources for key global players and multinationals.

And they all worked at the Pentagon. If America was ever to be attacked -- perhaps by a team of Islamic fanatics -- what better symbolic target than the Pentagon? Curiously, only a year before, the Pentagon had war-gamed just such an attack. You would have thought someone would have been prepared.

The Underlings

The alleged Israeli art students in Hollywood, Florida (They sold cheap Chinese art) lived on the EXACT same street, only blocks from the alleged Islamic hijackers (who flunked flight school). What were the odds of that happening? Was there a shared connection, a common link, a series of dots perhaps (strip clubs)? Or was it simply a massive coincidence that a team of possible Mossad double agents posing as art students, lived blocks away from alleged Islamic fanatics who just happened to train next to US military bases?

What about those dancing Israeli furniture movers in Liberty State Park? They filmed the event from atop their white van, while celebrating the successful attack. Later, two other vans were stopped in key access points to Manhattan. The FBI kept these Israelis for weeks before eventually releasing them. In the horrific days following 9-11, other vans were stopped. Other Israelis were arrested. Dogs detected traces of explosives in the vans. If not for the vigilance of local law enforcement officers in several states (unlike the FBI), how many other targets in America would have been destroyed?

The US media actually performed quite well for 24 hours following the attack. Unbelievably, even Fox News.

"What is striking about Fox News Reporter Carl Cameron's portrait of Israel's spy network in the U.S. is the sheer vastness of his subject," wrote Justin Raimondo, in The Terror Enigma: Israel and the September 11 Connection, "In the months leading up to 9/11, Cameron claimed Israel was waging a covert war against its principal ally and benefactor, the United States."

But aside from smaller newspaper, like the Bergen Record, few reports of these obvious false flag-black operations by Israeli double agents appeared anywhere on cable news giants CNN, MSNBC or Fox in subsequent weeks. Nor did the appear in the mainstream newspapers. Why didn't they?

A quick glance at the masthead of any daily New York newspaper reveals a preponderance of Jewish editors and publishers. What was most revealing, after 9-11, was not so much editorial reluctance but an overwhelming self-censorship, a stony silence, by all the New York City newspapers. They refused to mention ˜ EVER -- the probable connection of Israel to the 9-11 attack. Even though seven prominent NYC steel scrapers were demolished under exceedingly suspicious circumstances, not ONE Judeo-centric newspaper launched even a semblance of an investigation. Given the fact that Israel possessed the greater motive, means and opportunity to carry out the 9-11 attack, one had to wonder about the criminal complicity of the big New York dailies.

Other NYC periodicals went out of their way to debunk any attempt to get at the truth. Periodicals like Popular Mechanics, edited by a cousin of US Homeland Security head, Michael Chertoff, mouthed the official (Zionist) version of events. According to every New York periodical, Islamic terrorists hijacked the planes. How they attained the means, not to mention the opportunity to attack, was rarely broached.

Compromise security and you can conquer a city, state or nation. The Trojan Horse being a good example; America being another.

If indeed hijackers somehow got past airport security cameras and avoided normal flight check in procedures, wouldn't the suspicion fall on the Israeli-owned security company at Logan airport in Boston? How would hijackers have access to gates and terminals otherwise? No Mainstream news reports indicated hijackers got past airline employees working flight check-in counters. Somehow this remains a minor detail to the US media.

Even more suspicious, regarding security, how exactly did Islamic terrorists manage to gain access to the interior structure of WTC-7, in order to place obvious demolition charges? Wealthy real estate mogul and Zionist Larry Silverstein, the new lessee of the entire WTC complex, would have had final say in any security, wouldn't he? Additionally, the WTC-7 was, for all intents and purposes, a US government building. How could an enormous building, housing offices of the CIA, Secret Service and the SEC be left unsecured---unless the new landlord chose the "security" outfit.

Even more strange, flaming debris somehow scattered across a city block from the collapsing Twin Towers and set afire the 11th floor of WTC-7, where the SEC was located. Why this floor? What was located there?

"Odds are the SEC records in WTC 7 that were fortuitously destroyed when that building was 'pulled' included this bogus Brady Bond deal," wrote Karl Schwarz.
"Our sources have informed us that there was a group of ONI [Office of Naval Intelligence] working in this part of the Pentagon (that was destroyed) that were investigating the $120 billion Brady Bond scam I have reported on recently."

A masterful crime or a diabolical yet masterful spy operation? Probably both.

Instead of a terrorist attack, the crime begins to look like a huge scam with billions in profits and thousands dead.

If one were to examine this enormous evil iceberg further, and not just the tip, one might discover a monumental mass of icy Intelligence-connected players below the surface. Very likely, the entire WTC operation was a combination insurance scam (Benefiting one wealthy Zionist), false flag "terrorist" op (benefiting one Zionist nation), and billion dollar gold heist (Benefiting various operatives from many branches of intelligence possibly). Difficult to believe the CIA and Secret Service -- not to mention Giuliani's Office of Emergency Management -- had NO prior knowledge of the impending destruction of their offices.

According to the London Times: "The Comex metals trading division of the New York Mercantile Exchange kept 3,800 gold bars - weighing 12 tonnes and worth more than $100 million (£70 million) - in vaults in the building's basement. Comex also held almost 800,000 ounces of gold there on behalf of others, with a value of about $220 million (worth more than $560,000,000 today). It also held more than 102 million ounces of silver, worth $430 million (Worth $1.5 billion today). The Bank of Nova Scotia, which kept gold in the Comex vault, reported $200 million of gold lost in the wreckage (Lost-!). Comex also held precious metals for Chase Manhattan Bank, the Bank of New York and Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking."

Not surprisingly, one massive gold-filled truck was discovered, crushed, in the tunnels below the WTC complex. Perhaps, in the eight hours, between 9 AM and 5 PM, when WTC-7 was demolished and Americans were glued to televisions, horrified, masterful planners heisted hundreds of millions in gold bullion. Before Silverstein finally "pulled" the US government building, that is.

Which leaves us only THREE final questions: Who leased the building only months before? Who hired security at Logan and the WTC? Who covered up the subsequent crime in the US media, not only in New York City but the nation?

Still not convinced that key, dual-citizenship "Zionists" played a pivotal part? Perhaps THE pivotal part? The final footnote, indicating overwhelming involvement in the 9-11 attack, and the subsequent power to cover up any involvement, occurred 18 months later. That signature event was the War with Iraq, launched with whole-hearted White House, US Media and Congressional support on March 18, 2003.

On Purim, a significant Jewish holiday, a day signifying destruction of Israel's enemies.

Peace, Propaganda & The Promised Land
Avg: 15 ratings Bathsheba Ratzkoff and Sut Jhally 1 hr 19 min 14 sec - April 22, 2006 Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land provides a striking comparison of U.S. and international media coverage of the crisis in the Middle East, zeroing in on how structural distortions in U.S. coverage have reinforced false perceptions of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This pivotal documentary exposes how the foreign policy interests of American political elites--oil, and a need to have a secure military base in the region, among others--work in combination with Israeli public relations strategies to exercise a powerful influence over how news from the region is reported. Through the voices of scholars, media critics, peace activists, religious figures, and Middle East experts, Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land carefully analyzes and explains how--through the use of language, framing and context--the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza remains hidden in the news media, and Israeli colonization of the occupied territories appears to be a defensive move rather than an offensive one. The documentary also explores the ways that U.S. journalists, for reasons ranging from intimidation to a lack of thorough investigation, have become complicit in carrying out Israel's PR campaign. At its core, the documentary raises questions about the ethics and role of journalism, and the relationship between media and politics.

Baghdad Burning/Riverbend Blog

by Girl Blogger July 11, 2006

It promises to be a long summer. We're almost at the mid-way point, but it feels like the days are just crawling by. It's a combination of the heat, the flies, the hours upon hours of no electricity and the corpses which keep appearing everywhere.

The day before yesterday was catastrophic. The day began with news of the killings in Jihad Quarter. According to people who live there, black-clad militiamen drove in mid-morning and opened fire on people in the streets and even in houses. They began pulling people off the street and checking their ID cards to see if they had Sunni names or Shia names and then the Sunnis were driven away and killed. Some were executed right there in the area. The media is playing it down and claiming 37 dead but the people in the area say the number is nearer 60.

The horrific thing about the killings is that the area had been cut off for nearly two weeks by Ministry of Interior security forces and Americans. Last week, a car bomb was set off in front of a 'Sunni' mosque people in the area visit. The night before the massacre, a car bomb exploded in front of a Shia husseiniya in the same area. The next day was full of screaming and shooting and death for the people in the area. No one is quite sure why the Americans and the Ministry of Interior didn't respond immediately. They just sat by, on the outskirts of the area, and let the massacre happen.

At nearly 2 pm, we received some terrible news. We lost a good friend in the killings. T. was a 26-year-old civil engineer who worked with a group of friends in a consultancy bureau in Jadriya. The last time I saw him was a week ago. He had stopped by the house to tell us his sister was engaged and he'd brought along with him pictures of latest project he was working on- a half-collapsed school building outside of Baghdad.

He usually left the house at 7 am to avoid the morning traffic jams and the heat. Yesterday, he decided to stay at home because he'd promised his mother he would bring Abu Kamal by the house to fix the generator which had suddenly died on them the night before. His parents say that T. was making his way out of the area on foot when the attack occurred and he got two bullets to the head. His brother could only identify him by the blood-stained t-shirt he was wearing.

People are staying in their homes in the area and no one dares enter it so the wakes for the people who were massacred haven't begun yet. I haven't seen his family yet and I'm not sure I have the courage or the energy to give condolences. I feel like I've given the traditional words of condolences a thousand times these last few months, "Baqiya ib hayatkum. Akhir il ahzan." or "May this be the last of your sorrows." Except they are empty words because even as we say them, we know that in today's Iraq any sorrow- no matter how great- will not be the last.

There was also an attack yesterday on Ghazaliya though we haven't heard what the casualties are. People are saying it's Sadr's militia, the Mahdi army, behind the killings. The news the world hears about Iraq and the situation in the country itself are wholly different. People are being driven out of their homes and areas by force and killed in the streets, and the Americans, Iranians and the Puppets talk of national conferences and progress.

It's like Baghdad is no longer one city, it's a dozen different smaller cities each infected with its own form of violence. It's gotten so that I dread sleeping because the morning always brings so much bad news. The television shows the images and the radio stations broadcast it. The newspapers show images of corpses and angry words jump out at you from their pages, "civil war. death. killing. bombing. rape."

Rape. The latest of American atrocities. Though it's not really the latest- it's just the one that's being publicized the most. The poor girl Abeer was neither the first to be raped by American troops, nor will she be the last. The only reason this rape was brought to light and publicized is that her whole immediate family were killed along with her. Rape is a taboo subject in Iraq. Families don't report rapes here, they avenge them. We've been hearing whisperings about rapes in American-controlled prisons and during sieges of towns like Haditha and Samarra for the last three years. The naiveti of Americans who can't believe their 'heroes' are committing such atrocities is ridiculous. Who ever heard of an occupying army committing rape??? You raped the country, why not the people?

In the news they're estimating her age to be around 24, but Iraqis from the area say she was only 14. Fourteen. Imagine your 14-year-old sister or your
14-year-old daughter. Imagine her being gang-raped by a group of psychopaths and then the girl was killed and her body burned to cover up the rape. Finally, her parents and her five-year-old sister were also killed. Hail the American heroes... Raise your heads high supporters of the 'liberation' - your troops have made you proud today. I don't believe the troops should be tried in American courts. I believe they should be handed over to the people in the area and only then will justice be properly served. And our ass of a PM, Nouri Al-Maliki, is requesting an 'independent investigation', ensconced safely in his American guarded compound because it wasn't his daughter or sister who was raped, probably tortured and killed. His family is abroad safe from the hands of furious Iraqis and psychotic American troops.

It fills me with rage to hear about it and read about it. The pity I once had for foreign troops in Iraq is gone. It's been eradicated by the atrocities in Abu Ghraib, the deaths in Haditha and the latest news of rapes and killings. I look at them in their armored vehicles and to be honest- I can't bring myself to care whether they are 19 or 39. I can't bring myself to care if they make it back home alive. I can't bring myself to care anymore about the wife or parents or children they left behind. I can't bring myself to care because it's difficult to see beyond the horrors. I look at them and wonder just how many innocents they killed and how many more they'll kill before they go home. How many more young Iraqi girls will they rape?

Why don't the Americans just go home? They've done enough damage and we hear talk of how things will fall apart in Iraq if they 'cut and run', but the fact is that they aren't doing anything right now. How much worse can it get? People are being killed in the streets and in their own homes- what's being done about it? Nothing. It's convenient for them- Iraqis can kill each other and they can sit by and watch the bloodshed- unless they want to join in with murder and rape.

Buses, planes and taxis leaving the country for Syria and Jordan are booked solid until the end of the summer. People are picking up and leaving en masse and most of them are planning to remain outside of the country. Life here has become unbearable because it's no longer a 'life' like people live abroad. It's simply a matter of survival, making it from one day to the next in one piece and coping with the loss of loved ones and friends- friends like T.

It's difficult to believe T. is really gone. I was checking my email today and I saw three unopened emails from him in my inbox. For one wild, heart-stopping moment I thought he was alive. T. was alive and it was all some horrific mistake! I let myself ride the wave of giddy disbelief for a few precious seconds before I came crashing down as my eyes caught the date on the emails- he had sent them the night before he was killed. One email was a collection of jokes, the other was an assortment of cat pictures, and the third was a poem in Arabic about Iraq under American occupation. He had highlighted a few lines describing the beauty of Baghdad in spite of the war. And while I always thought Baghdad was one of the more marvelous cities in the world, I'm finding it very difficult this moment to see any beauty in a city stained with the blood of T. and so many other innocents.

Hate Groups Are Infiltrating the Military, Group Asserts (July 7, 2006)
A decade after the Pentagon declared a zero-tolerance policy for racist hate groups, recruiting shortfalls caused by the war in Iraq have allowed "large numbers of neo-Nazis and skinhead extremists" to infiltrate the military, according to a watchdog organization. The Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks racist and right-wing militia groups, estimated that the numbers could run into the thousands, citing interviews with Defense Department investigators and reports and postings on racist Web sites and magazines. "We've got Aryan Nations graffiti in Baghdad," the group quoted a Defense Department investigator as saying in a report to be posted today on its Web site, "That's a problem." CLIP

No G-8 seat for China, other big economies

By TOM RAUM, Associated Press Writer

July 8, 2006

WASHINGTON - The G-8 summit that President Bush and seven other world leaders are attending next weekend in Russia is often billed as a gathering of the world's leading economic powers. It is not. Consider: China, now the world's fourth-largest economy and the nation with the most influence over renegade North Korea, is not a member.

Neither is India, the world's largest democracy and one of its fastest-growing economies. Nor is South Korea, Brazil, Mexico or Spain, each with a larger economy than G-8 member Russia's. In fact, Spain recently inched past member Canada as the world's No. 8 economy, according to a World Bank tabulation.

Often officials from developing nations are invited as observers to the summit but have no formal roles. Among those invited to this year's gathering is Chinese President Hu Jintao.

Critics view the annual economic summit as a Cold War relic that needs to be reconstituted. It was formed in the 1970s, but economic dynamics are far different three decades later. The astonishing growth of some Asian nations and parts of Latin America have altered the math.

Yet expanding or changing the membership is not on this year's agenda, nor is it likely to be on next year's. Few officials from member nations seem eager to talk about the subject.

White House aides insist the president is more focused on substantive issues.

Igor Shuvalov, Russian President Vladimir Putin's top summit adviser, acknowledges that Russia lags behind the other seven members in terms of current economic output. But stay tuned, he says.

"We believe the importance of Russia in our global world will change. We have very talented people and well-educated labor. We have oil and gas," said Shuvalov in a telephone interview with U.S. reporters. "We will develop very quickly as one of the major G-8 countries."

Even now, Russia is economically "stronger than some G-8 members," Shuvalov asserted without offering backup data. "I don't want to name those countries," he said.

What is now known as the G-8 was formed in 1975 as the Group of Major Industrialized Democracies. At the time, it consisted of the United States, Japan, Britain, France and Germany — undisputedly the world's five biggest economic powers at the time. Italy was added in 1976, Canada in 1977 and Russia in 1998.

The group holds annual summits. Economic themes are supposed to prevail, but often are overshadowed by events of the day and global politics.

Last year's summit in Scotland was jolted by multiple terrorist bomb blasts on London's transit system. This year's session probably will dwell on North Korea's recent barrage of missile tests and the nuclear aspirations it shares with Iran.

Robert Hormats, vice chairman of Goldman Sachs International and an expert on economic summitry, advocates expanding the G-8 to include other modern economic powers, especially China.

"When this group was formed in the 1970s, the members were the main influences on the globe. Now you've got a lot of other countries that have a lot more influence than they did 30 years ago and who are not in the process," said Hormats, who helped Presidents Carter, Ford and Reagan prepare for economic summits.

China's membership could help the G-8 this year deal with North Korea, Hormats said. He noted that last year, the summit partners called on the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries to produce more oil, yet neither Saudi Arabia nor any other OPEC member are participants.

This year's summit is in Putin's hometown, St. Petersburg. It is Russia's first time to hold the rotating G-8 presidency, a controversy itself given Putin's moves to restrict political and economic freedoms.

Sen. John McCain , R-Ariz., Rep. Tom Lantos, D-Calif., and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright have said Russia should be excluded. A London-based think tank, the Foreign Policy Center, issued a report saying Putin's record makes a mockery of G-8's commitment to free markets and open societies.

But others want Russia to stay and for other nations to join, including nondemocracies that are big economies.

Johannes Linn and Colin Bradford, both former World Bank officials now with the Brookings Institution, have proposed expanding the group to 19 to 20 members.

They would add Australia, Argentina, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Turkey. They also would add the country of the rotating presidency of the European Union if it was not already a member.

"The problem in a sense for the G-8 is that it has set itself up as a quasi-steering group for the world, but it cannot effectively and cannot legitimately deal with many of the key issues," Linn said.

And it will only get worse. "Five years from now, I cannot possibly see how a G-8 would still be relevant," he said.

Gee whiz.

But will the G-8 transform itself anytime soon? "Probably not," he said.

Asia going nuclear amid rising oil prices
ULSAN, South Korea - Led by fast-growing China and India, Asia is going nuclear in a big way to feed its ravenous appetite for energy. (...) Eighteen reactors — about 70 percent of the world's total under construction — are going up in Asia, and another 77 are planned or proposed, according to the Nuclear Energy Institute, an industry advocacy group based in Washington, D.C.Japan depends on nuclear plants for a third of its power and plans to double its nuclear capacity by 2050. Australia wants to build its first plant, and Indonesia has vowed to go nuclear, even though it's vulnerable to earthquakes, floods and landslides.According to the World Nuclear Association, a group that promotes nuclear energy, China plans to increase its nuclear capacity from 6.6 gigawatts to 40 gigawatts by 2020 with the addition of 30 nuclear plants, mostly in heavily populated, industrialized coastal regions where demand and pollution levels are highest.India intends to go from just under 3 gigawatts to 20 gigawatts by 2020 with the addition of 31 plants, mostly in the west where much of its heavy industry lies.India's nuclear industry received a boost in March after it signed a civilian nuclear pact with the U.S. Under the deal awaiting Congressional approval, the United States will give India nuclear technology and fuel in return for India's permission for international inspections and safeguards at 14 reactors.

Russia and Iran Lead the New Energy Game
Whatever the West may have thought about it, Russian President Vladimir Putin has already spectacularly pre-empted this weekend's Group of Eight (G8) summit in St. Petersburg with his own bit of Pipelineistan news. Putin announced in Shanghai on June 15 that "Gazprom is ready to support the construction of a gas pipeline from Iran to Pakistan and India with financial resources and technology."

Researchers: Nuclear Materials "Dangerously Vulnerable" to Theft

The Associated Press - 13 July 2006

Washington - Despite progress on security, tons of nuclear material are "dangerously vulnerable" to theft by terrorists across the globe, a private group contends.

World leaders have failed to provide money promised for or to pay strict attention to securing materials that could be used for a nuclear device or "dirty" bomb, the Nuclear Threat Initiative said Thursday.

As leaders of the Group of Eight industrial powers, including President Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin, meet this weekend, NIT reports note that only a fraction of the $20 billion those leaders pledged four years ago to secure nuclear materials has been spent.

"This threat is not being treated as an urgent, front-burner security threat by the United States, by Russia or by the world," said former Sen. Sam Nunn, D-Ga., co-chairman of the group that focuses on nuclear non-proliferation.

The organization commissioned the two reports to assess the G8's response to safeguarding nuclear materials. One was by the Managing the Atom Project at Harvard University; the other came from researchers at the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies.

In a related development, the Energy Department said Thursday it had reaffirmed in an agreement with Russia the 2000 commitment by each country to dispose of 34 tons of excess plutonium. The joint effort had stalled in recent years with talk that it was falling apart because of disagreements between the two nations on how to proceed.

Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman called Thursday's joint statement "a clear sign of our mutual commitment to keeping dangerous nuclear material out of the hands of terrorists."

Russia plans to begin burning some of the plutonium in a fast-neutron reactor in the 2010-12 timeframe, the statement said. The Bush administration wants to build a plant to convert its plutonium into a mixed-oxide fuel with construction beginning in the fall at the Savannah River complex in South Carolina.

The department also announced Thursday it had finished a two-year project with Russian officials that removed 8.8 tons of highly enriched uranium from the Krylov Shipbuilding Research Center in St. Petersburg, Russia, to a nuclear complex in Dmitrovgrad where it will be converted for use in nuclear power plants. Officials said this is part of efforts to consolidate material to improve security.

The Harvard report cited progress in securing the material in Russia. But security upgrades are not completed at nearly half the sites and "only modest progress" has been made in consolidating the materials, the report said.

"In the rest of the world there is even less good news," the report said. "At many sites around the world, weapons-usable nuclear material remains dangerously vulnerable to either outsider or insider theft."

The United States has worked to improve security globally, but outside the former Soviet Union, "U.S.-sponsored security upgrades have barely begun or are not yet even on the agenda," the report said.

"There are still major gaps in our efforts to keep the essential ingredients of nuclear weapons out of terrorists' hands," said Matthew Bunn, co-author of the Harvard study.

Material that could be used to make a nuclear device or dirty bomb can be found in more than 40 countries, the researchers said.

At their 2002 summit, G8 leaders committed to spend $20 billion over a decade to secure weapons of mass destruction. But that effort, the researchers said, appears to have lost steam even as the risk of terrorists obtaining the material "has only grown more acute."

Despite pledges of $17.5 billion, most came in the first year and, nearly halfway into the 10-year program, only $3.5 billion has been spent, said Robert Einhorn, co-author of the CSIS report and a former assistant secretary of state for non-proliferation.

*The Veep's Curious Investment Portfolio* Is Cheney Betting On Economic Collapse?

Wouldn't you like to know where Dick Cheney puts his money? Then you'd know whether his "deficits don't matter" claim is just baloney or not.

Well, as it turns out, Kiplinger Magazine ran an article based on Cheney's financial disclosure statement and, sure enough, found out that the VP is lying to the American people for the umpteenth time. Deficits do matter and Cheney has invested his money accordingly.

The article is called "Cheney's betting on bad news" and provides an account of where Cheney has socked away more than $25 million. While the figures may be estimates, the investments are not. According to Tom Blackburn of the Palm Beach Post, Cheney has invested heavily in "a fund that specializes in short-term municipal bonds, a *tax-exempt money market fund and an inflation protected securities fund.* The first two hold up if interest rates rise with inflation. The third is protected against inflation."

*Cheney has dumped another (estimated) $10 to $25 million in a European bond fund* which tells us that he is counting on a steadily weakening dollar. So, while working class Americans are losing ground to inflation and rising energy costs, Darth Cheney will be enhancing his wealth in *"Old Europe".*As Blackburn sagely notes, "Not all bad news' is bad for everybody."

This should put to rest once and for all the foolish notion that the "Bush Economic Plan" is anything more than a scam aimed at looting the public till. The whole deal is intended to shift the nation's wealth from one class to another. It's also clear that Bush-Cheney couldn't have carried this off without the tacit approval of the thieves at the Federal Reserve who engineered the low-interest rate boondoggle to put the American people to sleep while they picked their pockets.

Reasonable people can dispute that Bush is "intentionally" skewering the dollar with his lavish tax cuts, but how does that explain Cheney's portfolio?

It doesn't. And, one thing we can say with metaphysical certainty is that the miserly Cheney would never plunk his money into an investment that wasn't a sure thing. *If Cheney is counting on the dollar tanking and interest rates going up, then, by Gawd, that's what'll happen. *

The Bush-Cheney team has racked up another $3 trillion in debt in just 6 years. The US national debt now stands at $8.4 trillion dollars while the trade deficit has ballooned to $800 billion nearly 7% of GDP.

This is lunacy. No country, however powerful, can maintain these staggering numbers. The country is in hock up to its neck and has to borrow $2.5 billion per day just to stay above water. Presently, the Fed is expanding the money supply and buying back its own treasuries to hide the hemorrhaging from the public. Its utter madness.

Last month the trade deficit climbed to $70 billion. More importantly, foreign central banks only purchased a meager $47 billion in treasuries to shore up our ravenous appetite for cheap junk from China.

Do the math! They're not investing in America anymore. They are decreasing their stockpiles of dollars. We're sinking fast and Cheney and his pals are manning the lifeboats while the public is diverted with gay marriage amendments and "American Celebrity".

The American manufacturing sector has been hollowed out by cutthroat corporations who've abandoned their country to make a fast-buck in China or Mexico. The $3 trillion housing (equity) bubble is quickly losing air while the anemic dollar continues to sag. All the signs indicate that the economy is slowing at the same time that energy prices continue to rise.

This is the onset of stagflation; the dreaded combo of a slowing economy and inflation.

Did Americans really think they'd be spared the same type of economic colonization that has been applied throughout the developing world under the rubric of "neoliberalism"?

Well, think again. The American economy is barrel-rolling towards earth and there are only enough parachutes for Cheney and the gang.

*The country has lost 3 million jobs from outsourcing since Bush took office; more than 200,000 of those are the high-paying, high-tech jobs that are the life's-blood of every economy.*

Consider this from the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) June edition of Foreign Affairs, the Bible of globalists and plutocrats:

"Between 2000 and 2003 alone, foreign firms built 60,000 manufacturing plants in China. European chemical companies, Japanese carmakers, and US industrial conglomerates are all building factories in China to supply export markets around the world. Similarly, banks, insurance companies, professional-service firms, and IT companies are building R&D and service centers in India to support employees, customers, and production worldwide." ("The Globally integrated Enterprise" Samuel Palmisano, Foreign Affairs page 130)

"60,000 manufacturing plants" in 3 years?!?

"Banks, insurance companies, professional-service firms, and IT companies"?

*No job is safe. American elites and corporate tycoons are loading the boats and heading for foreign shores. The only thing they're leaving behind is the insurmountable debt that will be shackled to our children into perpetuity and the carefully arranged levers of a modern police-surveillance state.*

Welcome to Bush's 21st Century gulag; third world luxury in a Guantanamo-type setting.

Take another look at Cheney's investment strategy; it tells the whole ugly story. Interest rates are going up, the middle class is going down, and the poor dollar is headed for the dumpster. The country is not simply teetering on the brink of financial collapse; it is being thrust headfirst by the blackguards in office and their satrapies at Federal Reserve.

Supermarkets and Service Stations Now Competing for Grain

Lester R. Brown

Cars, not people, will claim most of the increase in world grain consumption this year. The U.S. Department of Agriculture projects that world grain use will grow by 20 million tons in 2006. Of this, 14 million tons will be used to produce fuel for cars in the United States, leaving only 6 million tons to satisfy the world’s growing food needs.

In agricultural terms, the world appetite for automotive fuel is insatiable. The grain required to fill a 25-gallon SUV gas tank with ethanol will feed one person for a year. The grain to fill the tank every two weeks over a year will feed 26 people.

Investors are jumping on the highly profitable biofuel-bandwagon so fast that hardly a day goes by without another ethanol distillery or biodiesel refinery being announced somewhere in the world. The amount of corn used in U.S. ethanol distilleries has tripled in five years, jumping from 18 million tons in 2001 to an estimated 55 million tons from the 2006 crop.

In some U.S. Corn Belt states, ethanol distilleries are taking over the corn supply. In Iowa, a staggering 55 ethanol plants are operating or have been proposed. Iowa State University economist Bob Wisner observes that if all these plants are built, they would use virtually all the corn grown in Iowa. In South Dakota, a top-ten corn-growing state, ethanol distilleries are already claiming over half of the corn harvest.

With so many distilleries being built, livestock and poultry producers fear there may not be enough corn to produce meat, milk, and eggs. And since the United States supplies 70 percent of world corn exports, corn-importing countries are worried about their supply.

Since almost everything we eat can be converted into fuel for automobiles, including wheat, corn, rice, soybeans, and sugarcane, the line between the food and energy economies is disappearing. Historically, food processors and livestock producers that converted these farm commodities into products for supermarket shelves were the only buyers. Now there is another group, those buying for the ethanol distilleries and biodiesel refineries that supply service stations.

As the price of oil climbs, it becomes increasingly profitable to convert farm commodities into automotive fuel, either ethanol or biodiesel. In effect, the price of oil becomes the support price for food commodities. Whenever the food value of a commodity drops below its fuel value, the market will convert it into fuel.

Crop-based fuel production is now concentrated in Brazil, the United States, and Western Europe. The United States and Brazil each produced over 4 billion gallons (16 billion liters) of ethanol in 2005. While Brazil uses sugarcane as the feedstock, U.S. distillers use grain—mostly corn. The 55 million tons of U.S. corn going into ethanol this year represent nearly one sixth of the country’s grain harvest but will supply only 3 percent of its automotive fuel. (See additional data.)

Brazil, the world’s largest sugar producer and exporter, is now converting half of its sugar harvest into fuel ethanol. With just 10 percent of the world’s sugar harvest going into ethanol, the price of sugar has doubled. Cheap sugar may now be history.

In Europe the emphasis is on producing biodiesel. Last year the European Union (EU) produced 1.6 billion gallons of biofuels. Of this, 858 million gallons were biodiesel, produced from vegetable oil, mostly in Germany and France, and 718 million gallons were ethanol, most of it distilled from grain in France, Spain, and Germany. Margarine manufacturers, struggling to compete with subsidized biodiesel refineries, have asked the European Parliament for help.

In Asia, China and India are both building ethanol distilleries. In 2005, China converted some 2 million tons of grain—mostly corn, but also some wheat and rice—into ethanol. In India ethanol is produced largely from sugarcane. Thailand is concentrating on ethanol from cassava, while Malaysia and Indonesia are investing heavily in additional palm oil plantations and in new biodiesel refineries. Within the last year or so, Malaysia has approved 32 biodiesel refineries, but recently has suspended further licensing while it assesses the adequacy of palm oil supplies.

The profitability of crop-based fuel production has created an investment juggernaut. With a U.S. ethanol subsidy of 51¢ per gallon in effect until 2010, and with oil priced at $70 per barrel, distilling fuel alcohol from corn promises huge profits for years to come.

In May 2005, the 100th U.S. ethanol distillery came on line. Seven of these distilleries are being expanded. Another 34 or so are under construction and scores more are in the planning stages. The soaring demand for crop-based fuel is coming when world grain stocks are at the lowest level in 34 years and when there are 76 million more people to feed each year.

The U.S. investment in biofuel production in response to runaway oil prices is spiraling out of control, threatening to draw grain away from the production of beef, pork, poultry, milk, and eggs. And, most seriously, the vast number of distilleries in operation, under construction, and in the planning stages threatens to reduce grain available for direct human consumption. Simply put, the stage is being set for a head-on collision between the world’s 800 million affluent automobile owners and food consumers. Given the insatiable appetite of cars for fuel, higher grain prices appear inevitable. The only question is when food prices will rise and by how much. Indeed, in recent months, wheat and corn prices have risen by one fifth.

For the 2 billion poorest people in the world, many of whom spend half or more of their income on food, rising grain prices can quickly become life threatening. The broader risk is that rising food prices could spread hunger and generate political instability in low-income countries that import grain, such as Indonesia, Egypt, Nigeria, and Mexico. This instability could in turn disrupt global economic progress. If ethanol distillery demand for grain continues its explosive growth, driving grain prices to dangerous highs, the U.S. government may have to intervene in the unfolding global conflict over food between affluent motorists and low-income consumers.

There are alternatives to using food-based fuels. For example, the equivalent of the 3 percent gain in automotive fuel supplies from ethanol could be achieved several times over—and at a fraction of the cost—simply by raising auto fuel efficiency standards by 20 percent. Investing in public transport could reduce overall dependence on cars.

There are other fuel options as well. While there are no alternatives to food for people, there is an alternative source of fuel for cars, one that involves shifting to highly efficient gas-electric hybrid plug-ins. This would enable motorists to do short-distance driving, such as the daily commute, with electricity. If wind-rich countries such as the United States, China, and those in Europe invest heavily in wind farms to feed cheap electricity into the grid, cars could run primarily on wind energy, and at the gasoline equivalent of less than $1 a gallon.

Experiment with Telepathic Communication...

I would like to get an experiment going with telepathic communication. I received a suggestion that we start with one group of seven people and set a time that is coordinated according to the zones we live in so that we are thinking of each other for five minutes, sending messages that have the most emotional zing for what's going on in our lives right then.

We record the images/messages we sent and keep a log of our telepathic sessions, sharing with each other what we received, then posting what we sent, and seeing if any patterns start to emerge. I think we'll find some people are stronger at sending or receiving.

If we keep doing this, let's say every 2-3 days for a couple weeks, I understand that we'll get better at communicating this way. Eventually we are to form three groups of seven that carry out this experiment in telepathic communication. Then the grand experiment will begin of attempting contact with benevolent ETs, and comparing results among the groups. Is anyone interested?

Political Engagement

Another message I received from the Altairian pod (that I haven't yet relayed) was that lightworkers and pacifists are to engage with Republican politicians, coworkers, and friends/family, even if we haven't discussed politics with them for decades. With the Internet, we usually only talk to people who think the same way we do. Liberal strategies for contacting our representatives usually identify the ones most likely to be persuaded to go along with us. The Altairians informed me that this has led to increasing polarization and that we must start bridging this gap.

The Altairians suggested rules of engagement for this kind of political discussion. My understanding is that we need only have this kind of discussion with one person. First, we approach them and say that we would like to talk to them about politics with the intention of bridging our differences in a civil conversation. We promise that if we start to get angry, we will back off (this is also a kind of initiation for us in gaining emotional mastery also).

We are to identify five aspects of that person's character or voting record or public stance on issues that we admire or respect. It might be the fact, if they are a politician, that they are present for every roll call vote, whether we disagree with every vote they cast or not. We can recognize their diligence. We need to do our research and be prepared to state all five of these supportive statements in our full integrity, being present in the moment with this person.

Once this has been done, we are going to ask them to first listen, without interrupting, to five issues that we disagree with them on, that we want them to give their full attention to, for them to listen to what we would like to see done. Then we may carry on a dialogue about these issues further, if they are willing, or we may not. If either person starts to get angry, we both agree that we will end the conversation.

I have been told that this effort will create more of a national dialogue about issues that need to be addressed by everyone. I've been reluctant to share this because I'm not sure that I'm ready to do it myself. I would love to hear what you think.

I have started teaching at Western Michigan University and am hoping once I start having some income again, to get a website up for the New Earth Council. Is there anyone who would like to help with this project?

On Sending Love to the Dark Cabal...

Dr. Richard Boylan, in a recent message, wrote words to the effect that we need to be discriminating about sending love to the destructive people in the cabal, as I had suggested in the message I wrote, "Time to Shift". I don't know if he was responding to me in particular, but I just want to clarify that we need to take action to impeach Bush and get everyone of these warhawks out of office. I have never said or believed that simply sending love would stop these people from carrying out their wicked plans. The whole reason that I've started the New Earth Council is to get us taking action together to create the world we want, not just continue praying or meditating together or sending love or remaining disengaged from the body politic.

However, I do believe that we need to resist this administration and the shadow cabal in a spirit of love rather than condemnation; that we send them love despite what they are doing, not in support of it. Just as we, as good parents, at least attempt to discipline a child, not by withdrawing our love of them, but by making it clear that we abhor their actions, not their person. And I'm not saying that it will be easy -- it's an incredible feat if we can pull it off. There does need to be a reckoning for the crimes that have been committed.

However, acting to stop them in the spirit of love will do more than anything else to shift us out of duality to encompass our oneness.

Getting Involved and Endorsing Calls to Action...

Following are some calls to action that we can endorse as the New Earth Council. Please let me know if you don't think we should and why. What do other members think about issuing press releases when we endorse an action? We'll need to create a list of publications online that we want to submit to and maybe form a committee to work on press releases.

Sign the Kuala Lumpur Declaration Petition for Peace that criminalises the practice of war and support the Perdana Global Peace Forum in their mission.

Support the One Campaign to Make Poverty History and hold the G8 accountable to carry out their decision to cancel the national debt burden for African countries.

Message from Zackoree...

Hi, just wanted to pass on what has been coming up for me consistently and stronger each day; the need for community/networks. Having just attended a sustainability conference in Durango Colorado where the question was what do we do / how do we help from here after the conference, the answer seems to be form a community, network amongst ourselves and then other networks/communities.

We have to join together, I mean we've always had to do that but now its imperative.

So here is an excerpt from Celia Fenn who channels AA Michael and another from a guy who is involved with bringing about First Contact and the end to UFO secrecy.

Let me end by saying how much I appreciate what you are doing in support of this important concept...

Love it,

But know, dearest ones, that the greatest Joy of the New Cycle will be the creation of Communities and Networks of Light around the Planet. You will begin to come together in groupings to accomplish certain kinds of global lightwork. There will be much power in these activities, because you are powerful. You will work and create from absolute alignment with your Higher Aspect and the Source, and you will create with great clarity.

...We may have to create yet another network with a broader constituency than the Exopolitics Institute to move through phase two so please stay tuned. :-) As I envision it, the ET's are intent in forming a network infrastructure from the grass roots up, all around the globe. Some of these networks will give rise to future institutions others will serve their purpose and dissolve and reform into other groups. Keep in mind that networks organize themselves around individual and collective obstacles like water flowing down a rocky stream. People participating in these networks should realize that nobody is indispensable and that both individual or group are always susceptible to being sidelined when their fear or ego become an obstacle to the overall action plan. Network architecture does not waste time trying to argue with anybody, it just deploys around resistance into areas of conductivity and interconnectivity same as a electrical current.

Zackoree, this weekend I received a message from a woman in Australia with a large property that she would like to get a community to take over. This feels right for the New Earth Council. We may be meeting and living together sooner than we think. Just check out her website and look at the photos of this land.

Dear Ariel, I loved your words, my own exactly, on Jean Hudon's site tonight. I am in Australia, in north east New South Wales in the Wollumbin (Mt Warning) Caldera. I have 65 acres of sacred land, operating as the Centre for Change. Now is the time when other  in tune people must join their energies for the creation of a new pattern for living and I seek active partners on this land. Please see my website

How do we get to know each other?

Love always,
