Read much of your wonderful messages....

I'm so happy to hear of PAN etc. I've been praying and envisioning the

my feelings of we need to relax about Y2K over the holidays. I do think
there will be those who will want to perpetuate problems just to fullfil

Subject: KUDOS TO ALL OF US!!!

Jean - Almost every post that comes in these past couple of weeks has shown a
decided "move" in consciousness toward a culmination of those values which
you and I and "ours" hold so dear coming to fruition.
-- For the most part these "problem" areas are those where "technology" has
been moved into an area where "Creator" is best left in charge.

Genetic engineering in foods.....chemicals in the earth.....chemically grown
food....manipulation in/on oh, so many areas of our Earth and on our food and
thereby on our persons.

I think we need to give ourselves a little "thank us" for taking the time to
become a part of the living consciousness....and paying attention.....

At any rate - KUDOS to you -- and ALL OF US!

Dear Jean

I just wanted to thank you for your informative food news, "Fluoride in water"
I heard from a friend that there was one town in our country(called Kuopio)
where they mixed more and more fluoride in the water to make it more "teeth-healthy"
and prevent teeth decline. What has really happend is that in this
town there are more accidents of the bone breaks than in any other city in our
country; doctors and health-authories are now considering to cut down the
amount of fluoride as it tend to harden the bones so that the bones become so stiff that they
break easily - they break like sticks as the fluoride has effected
to the bone structure unhealthy way. Also this friend of mine who
has ability to see beyond the material veils told that fluoride
effects the will-aspect of the human nature, it makes people very week,
and very obedient and that they are not willing to stand against anything,
even to keep their own rights. this is interesting as in occultism the "bone"
or skeleton symbolizes our will - our core structure.

It is better to change to drink
the spring water- we are 90 % water anyway - !
Better be safe than sorry!

Hello Jean!

Welcome to the new world.

Interesting that we found your email here on our computer today. I had been
thinking deeply about you over the past couple of days -- suppose this was the
telepathic contact prior to email :-)

We are eternally grateful not to have the need to kick in all of the safeguards
which we had put into place for the possible glitch thing -- but we do feel good
that we have put into place some things which will aid and support us in the
future in the event of disruptions and such in regular services.

I have no idea as to how you have connected to the Light Expression Essence
project -- by this I mean that I do not know if you have come to a realization of
its importance in our evolution. Both for the evolution of humanity and for the
planet -- the project offers profound changes in altering the way that think,
clarity, improvement in our intuitive nature, and the raising of our vibrational
levels. To many, who we would title "enlightened", these concepts go right over
their heads. There is not a great following of this project at this point because
of its offering to "change" us -- even though this change is to more mirror the
divine. It is a process of personal surrender -- and most folks have not taken
the time to learn how to communicate consciously with their higher selves / soul.
And if they have, they may not yet given themselves the permission of surrender --
to act upon it. Decisions must be made by us all in order that we progress -- it
is not carte blanc.

I suppose that I am offering you this insight as you are a person who has accepted
responsibility to inform at least those who have found you and who network with
others. As the Light Expression Essence project is global and is unencumbered by
3rd dimensional creative processes, its intention is from the highest levels of
consciousness which governs our planet and in fact the universe. We are simply
the messengers.

With this said, we wish you well as you go forth in your writing and offer
appreciation for the work which you have done. It is our commitment to humanity
and to the Earth that we continue this work for those who have made the personal
commitment to their evolution.

Date: Thu, 20 Jan 2000

Jean,

You omitted to mention the work done by Hazel Courtney.

Without Hazel Courtney's groundwork it's highly probable that the Express wouldn't have picked up and pursued the aspartame issue. Several months ago Hazel put together a brilliant article for "the UK media" which I understand she eventually gave the Express and a greatly reduced version was printed alongside the work by Lucy Johnston et al on the 9th of January 2000:

http://www.lineone.net/express/00/01/09/news/n0140suffer-d.html

"Daughter's suffering made me a campaigner

By Hazel Courtney

Geoff and Carol Brewer were unaware of any possible problems with aspartame until their young daughter caught flu two years ago and developed an alarming rash that covered her body.

It developed when they gave Laura, now five, sugar-free drinks after their GP recommended plenty of fluids.

Geoff, from Wiltshire, said: "We had always been careful about giving the children too much sugar so we bought lots of soft drinks labelled 'sugar free'."

Laura's flu improved but, after a few days, a rash appeared around her mouth and spread to her genital area. "Our doctor thought it might be eczema and prescribed a cream," said Geoff.

"Within a week the rash spread until it covered Laura's body which caused her - and us - a great deal of distress.

"The doctor could not explain her symptoms. Then a friend showed me an article which claimed aspartame triggered problems including rashes in some sensitive individuals."

Geoff checked the labels on the drinks they had bought - each contained aspartame. We stopped giving her anything containing this sweetener. We found it was in sweets, instant foods, some brands of crisps and even her chewable multivitamins.

"For four days, our lives were a nightmare. Laura became hyperactive and went on demanding her sweet drinks. She went through what I now know were withdrawal symptoms. After a week or so she began to calm down and the rash disappeared."

When Geoff investigated aspartame, he read claims of 92 possible side effects. He has set up a British branch of US pressure group Mission Possible and backs our call for a safety review. He said: "I think the British government should fund an independent investigation into it."
© Express Newspapers, 1999"

Thank you for posting the information you did to your media list but in fairness to the hard work put in by Hazel in my opinion the whole story should have been included.

NOTE FROM JEAN: IN A SEPARATE EMAIL BETTY MARTINI ALSO MENTIONED THIS REGARDING NEOTAME THAT MONSANTO WANTS THE FDA TO APPROVE:

Date: Wed, 19 Jan 2000
To: jean hudon <globalvisionary@cybernaute.com>
From: Betty Martini <Mission-Possible-USA@Altavista.net>
Subject: Of Cabbage and Kings, Genetic Engineering Comic Book

As to Neotame, that was Mark Gold's playoff of the original story on
aspartame and how it was invented. Barbara Mullarkey told me the FDA had
said they would approve it before the end of the year so in the middle of
December I wrote FDA Commissioner, Dr. Jane Henney and told her if she
dared to approve Neotame, a more potent neurotoxin, I would expose the FDA
to the ends of the earth, and that if she knew me I don't make threats -
its a promise. And I sent a copy to the Justice Department. So far they
haven't approved it. A journalist in England said that Monsanto said they
shouldn't have to have it approved because aspartame has already been
approved. So they are really explaining that Neotame is just a more potent
aspartame. What worries me is they may try to use it without it being
approved. The man who use to live across the street from me did the
pilings of the NutraSweet plant here in Augusta and said they were selling
aspartame before it was approved. I do not doubt it. He said they gave
to him and it made him deathly sick."

AND HERE IS THE MARK GOLD'S STORY BETTY WAS REFERRING TO:

Also Robert HOFFMANN from Belgium wrote saying they were hearing about neotame (replacing aspartame) over there and referred me to this site: http://www.holisticmed.com/neotame/history.html

That is Mark Gold's holistic healing web site (where I discovered the FDA list of 92 symptoms of aspartame poisoning back in June of 1996). This is a tongue-in-cheek joke about Neotame.

******* He is the "story" *******

In 1993, a former Monsanto scientist was working at a secret army chemical weapons plant when there was accidental realease of a newly-developed chemical weapon, neotox-II. After the alarm sounded, other workers ran to the decontamination room. But this man, having learned at Monsanto that chemicals are not something to be afraid of, stood his ground. On the middle finger of his left hand, there had accummulated a tiny amount of neotox-II.

He put his finger up to his nose to thoroughly investigate this new chemical. It made him intensely nauseous, but there was also a very strong sweet smell. Believing that sweet means safe, no matter how toxic, he licked his finger. Neotox-II was incredibly sweet! The nausea became intense and his body began to convulse. He didn't seem to care, belting out, "I have found it! I have found it!" at the top of his lungs.

When he was released from the army hospital three weeks later, he knew what he had to do. He placed a call to several Monsanto/ NutraSweet executives telling them about the discovery. He had no concern about divulging military secrets as he knew that these Monsanto executives would have no trouble convincing government officials to give the patent and use of neotox-II to Monsanto. "After all," he reminded himself, "Monsanto executives have had so many official government positions, we essentially run the government!"

Putting together safety data for the FDA was not a serious challenge. The mixture of neotox-II with standard Monsanto fairy dust, led to the production of volumes of safety data. The fairy dust did not change the chemical structure of neotox-II, but did cause a name change to "neotame".

All links between neotame and neotox-II were destroyed...except two. Instead of presenting the aspartame-blinded Mr. Magoo as the sweetener symbol, the symbol of neotame is a picture of the back of the left hand of the former Monsanto scientist -- holding up the finger where neotox-II was found and offering it to the world.

The only other link to neotox-II is a secret Monsanto source who is relaying this story.

As yet, to the best of our knowledge, Neotame is still on the "wannabe" list at the FDA.

FINAL NOTE FROM JEAN: I'LL ALSO KEEP YOU POSTED WHEN THE WEBSITE ON THE COMIC STRIP MAGAZINE "Of Cabbage and Kings" A Genetic Engineering Comic Book MENTIONED IN THE SUBJECT FIELD OF BETTY'S EMAIL IS ONLINE IN ABOUT A MONTH FROM NOW. BETTY WHO SAW IT SAID ABOUT IT: "It is outstanding. Dan Swartz <kuka@freemail.hu> did an incredible job, and you just have to see it. It has so much information on so many things."

Subject: Worldwatch: State of the World Report

World woes pile up as century dawns

USA: January 18, 2000

WASHINGTON - The world's economic future hangs on nations addressing
fundamental problems such as pollution, population growth and
malnourishment, a new report on health and the environment warns.

Without government action, "we face a future where continuing
environmental deterioration almost certainly will lead to economic
decline," says the Worldwatch Institute's "State of the World" annual
report.

"The bottom line is the global economy is outgrowing the ecological
system," senior author and Worldwatch chief Lester Brown said in an
interview.

The report, released on Saturday, says the "overriding challenges
facing our global civilisation as the new century begins are to
stabilise climate and stabilise population."

Failing that, it says "there is not an ecosystem on Earth that we can
save."

The report suggests the adoption of a carbon tax on coal and petroleum
to encourage use of cleaner fuels such as hydrogen, wind power or
solar power.

GERMANY'S EXAMPLE

Brown said Germany offers an example of how to restructure the tax
system to encourage use of such fuels. It took the first of four steps
last April to reduce wage taxes and raise them on energy use.

The 1998 agreement by U.S. cigarette makers to give $251 billion to
state governments to offset the cost of smoking-related health care
could be "a massive precedent for the idea of a carbon tax on fossil
fuels," the report says.

It urges governments to develop strategies to control their population
growth humanely such as making family planning services widely
available.

Concerning malnutrition, it says that for the first time "the number
of people in the world who are overnourished and overweight rivals the
number of who are undernourished and underweight - some 1.2 billion"
each.

Unlike hunger, overeating is a recent problem plaguing industrialised
nations where incomes allow the purchase of higher-calorie foods and
where life is more sedentary.

"We have taken the activity out of our lives," Brown said.

High-calorie and high-fat diets encourage obesity, which raises the
risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and various cancers, the
report warns.

"These four sets of disease are responsible for more than half of all
deaths in the industrialised world," it says.

By one estimate, obesity costs the United States $118 billion a year
in medical costs, lower productivity and larger disability spending.

"The world is in the midst of a nutrition crisis," Worldwatch says,
"and its toll on human development is large but also largely
unrecognized."

Hi, Jean,

I have been reading your e-mails all since April and find it most
informative and largely inspiring. Thank for all you do.

I recently gave a concert to raise money and awareness for
Headwaters Forest, part of the very last 3 percent remaining of redwood
forests. Only 22 percent of all virgin forests on Earth remain.
Without forests, we will have no air or water.

Please forward this info to your listees. At the end is a letter

can to influence those in power to make life on Earth more sacred, evil
will triumph. Let's do what we can while we still have air to breath

All of us at EPIC would like to thank our supporters for their
tremendous assistance and involvement over the last year. Finalization
of the flawed Headwaters agreement... Permanent protection for ancient
forests atop Gilham Butte... The failure of the Davis administration and
the California Board of Forestry to protect salmon... The end of Julia
Butterfly's two-year tree-sit... 1999 will doubtless be remembered as a
momentous year here on California's north coast!

Again, all of our challenges would have been more daunting, and our
victories impossible, if not for the responsiveness and dedication of
concerned individuals willing to take a stand for California's forests,
rivers and wild creatures. Happy New Year, and thanks again--we look
forward to an even better 2000!

^ MEANWHILE, BACK IN SACRAMENTO... ^

The Board of Forestry continued, in the waning months of the year, to
discuss and further dismember Governor Gray Davis' already weak proposal
to change California's logging regulations. The rules package,
ostensibly intended to address logging-related damage to water quality
and fish habitat, has languished in committee for several months; the
Board has shown no inclination to improve the package to the point where
it would meet the requirements of federal law, and little inclination to
pass even the watered-down rules currently under discussion. True to
form, the Board has scheduled another committee session on the package
for January 10, where California's gaggle of well-paid timber industry
lobbyists are sure to continue whittling away at the package's few
substantive provisions. (For official Board of Forestry information,
including copies of the proposed rules and meeting agendas, visit the
Board's web site at http://www.fire.ca.gov/bof/.)

^ 1/12/2000: A DAY OF RECKONING FOR GOVERNOR DAVIS ^

In March 1998, embroiled in a tough primary battle for the Democratic
gubernatorial nomination, Gray Davis promised the Planning and
Conservation League Foundation that as Governor he would ensure that
"all old-growth trees are spared from the lumberjack's axe" (Associated
Press, 3/15/98). Since his election, however, contributions from Big
Timber have been pouring in, and Davis has struggled to distance himself
from his pledge.

The Campaign for Old Growth, an association of dozens of environmental,
religious and social justice organizations, has been working tirelessly
to remind Davis of his promise and encourage him to fulfill it. Davis
will have the best opportunity thus far to do so on January 12, when the
Board of Forestry will hear a petition for emergency regulations that
would ban old-growth logging in California. The petition also calls
upon Davis to address his other forestry-related failures by immediately
acting to protect salmon and water quality.

(clip)

If you can't attend the hearing, you can still make your voice heard by
sending or faxing a letter to the Board of Forestry and to Governor
Davis. A sample letter, with addresses and fax numbers, follows below.

Dear Governor Davis and Members of the Board:

I most respectfully urge you to adopt emergency rules protecting
California's old-growth trees when this matter comes before you on
January 12. The remaining handful of ancient trees and forests in the
state represents a treasure of ecological and genetic diversity, without
which our forests and our native fish and wildlife will be dramatically
impoverished. Every single one of these trees must receive full
protection now.

I fully expect this administration to fulfill clear campaign promises
regarding protection of all of California's ancient trees. Governor
Davis, please do not squander the golden opportunity you have on January
12 to make good on your pledge.

Sincerely,

(Thanks for taking the time to help save California's ancient trees!)

Conflicting Messages

Stories are circulating about the wind storms that hit France just
after Christmas: 200 kilometer an hour winds, 91 people dead, 360 million
trees "ripped from their roots or snapped in half", over three million
people without electricity - an estimated $11.8 billion dollars in damage.
Insurance will pay $4.7 billion toward repairing the damage, the
Government is adding $2.5 billion. The remaining costs will have to be
carried by unfortunate citizens.
Some observers are already pointing out that all the new expenses
should translate into increased business activity and economic growth.
"This disaster will be mostly positive in terms of Gross Domestic Product"
according to Denis Kessler, the vice president of a big business
association in France.

? If GDP responds positively to such devastation, is it safe to use
it as an indicator of progress?

? At what point does such a measure invite the stimulation of
disaster for its economic benefits?

Canada will soon be considering a more sensitive system for
measuring progress. MP, Joe Jordan's Seventh Generation Initiative has
produced its first legislative proposal, the "Canada Well-Being Measurement
Act". This act calls for a system of measures to track unpaid work, the
state of natural resources, pollution, economic inclusion, health, crime,
participation in decision making, leisure time and other factors reflecting
the well-being of people, communities and ecosystems.

The final text of the Act, an explanation of the Seventh Generation
Initiative and other details are available at the "Measuring Well-Being"
link on our Welcome Page.
http://www.cyberus.ca/choose.sustain.

If you have a few minutes, you can help move this initiative forward.

If Mr. Jordan can demonstrate popular interest in a better
measurement system, there is a chance that seed money for its development
will be included in the next Federal Budget.
