Hello everyone

As the election saga continues to unfold in the US - to be possibly settled only in the US Supreme Court if the absentee ballots do not give a clear margin to the winner - one if left to wonder what is the real significance of all this. It should certainly be a wake up call to realize that the antiquated US voting system needs a major overhaul to prevent such mishaps and even possibly such frauds in the future. But above all it should be the starting point for many people to campaign effectively to wrest the levers of power from the entrenched hidden interests who put up this electoral farce and denied a brilliant and credible candidate such as Ralph Nader the right to participate in the all-important televised debates, and co-create a new form of democracy that would empower any interested citizen into taking a more active and decision-making role in the matters of local, national and global governance. In a nutshell, we have to move everywhere from representative democracy to participatory democracy along with creating a critically important system that would ensure a fair and balanced availability of all viewpoints in any matter under consideration for a legislative vote and especially prevent wealthy corporate or private interests from flooding the public with paid ads to sell their agenda.

You will find below more interesting perspectives and unknown aspects to all this as well as some other topics worth looking at such as the possibility of Cannabis decriminalization in the UK and an analysis of why things went so wrong in the Middle East - more on this crisis in the next compilation.

Hoping you still enjoy it all

"In the years before the Civil War, antislavery voters were told they
had to vote for the lesser evil -- slave-owning Whigs like Henry Clay.
They refused, in small but growing numbers. The Whigs collapsed,
the Republican Party was born, Lincoln became president, and the
slaves were freed. Today, anti-corporate voters are being handed
the same lesser-evil logic. But the sweeping political changes we
need will only come when voters refuse this logic and thereby force
the collapse of the two-party monopoly."

"A history professor from uppsala universitet in Sweden, called to tell me about an article she had read in which a Zimbabwe politician was quoted as saying that children should study this event closely for it shows that election fraud is not only a third world phenomena.

1. Imagine that we read of an election occuring anywhere in the third world in which the self-declared winner was the son of the former prime minister and that former prime minister was himself the former head of that nation's secret police (CIA).

2. Imagine that the self-declared winner lost the popular vote but won based on some old colonial holdover (electoral college) from the nation's pre-democracy past.

3. Imagine that the self-declared winner's 'victory' turned on disputed votes cast in a province governed by his brother!

4. Imagine that the poorly drafted ballots of one district, a district heavily favoring the self-declared winner's opponent, led thousands of voters to vote for the wrong candidate.

5. Imagine that that members of that nation's most despised caste, fearing for their lives/livelihoods, turned out in record numbers to vote in near-universal opposition to the self-declared winner's candidacy.

6. Imagine that hundreds of members of that most-despised caste were intercepted on their way to the polls by state police operating under the authority of the self-declared winner's brother.

7. Imagine that six million people voted in the disputed province and that the self-declared winner's 'lead' was only 327 votes. Fewer, certainly, than the vote counting machines' margin of error.

8. Imagine that the self-declared winner and his political party opposed a more careful by-hand inspection and re-counting of the ballots in the disputed province or in its most hotly disputed district.

9. Imagine that the self-declared winner, himself a governor of a major province, had the worst human rights record of any province in his nation and actually led the nation in executions.

10. Imagine that a major campaign promise of the self-declared winner was to appoint like-minded human rights violators to lifetime positions on the high court of that nation.

None of us would deem such an election to be representative of anything other than the self-declared winner's will-to-power. All of us, I imagine, would wearily turn the page thinking that it was another sad tale of pitiful pre- or anti-democracy peoples in some strange elsewhere."

Greetings,

As your world moves further along the path of ascension, there will be times when major events occur to bring forth new unprecedented levels of growth. These events are unusual in that they capture people's attention and move them to delve deep within their psyches to access ancient memories and emotional wounds, bringing them into conscious awareness for individual transmutation and thus, planetary healing and growth. Your current presidential election is one of those times. In a way you could liken its power to that of an atomic bomb exploding in the emotional body of earth.

As you watch the events of this election unfold it is not difficult to see how much your world has changed in just a few short years. With the advent of the Internet, you are able to change the way things happen. Through the Internet you will gain access to the 5th dimension where the main principle in action is all information from the lower dimensions is known. The upset and indecisiveness of your present election is just one example of what can occur when access to otherwise unknown information is made available to the public which brings me to my next point.

You are witnessing an explosion of knowledge through your Internet and this knowledge is power. What you do with this power, the decisions you make right now, can forever change your future and the way this Grand Experiment ends. Instead of the human race being enslaved and micro chipped (one of the possibilities) and the planet destroyed through war and earth changes, you now have in your hands the technology that will enable you to create a totally different outcome. Through your Internet you can make all knowledge known, you can inform the world and expose the many areas where your power has been taken from you. Through the Internet you can unite, form plans to change the tide of disempowerment and take back your sovereignty as a people and as a race. Your Election 2000 is the catalyst to bring this movement about.

We are not saying that you stage a revolution of anger, war and hatred against those you see as your enemy though experiencing anger will be part of the process. We are saying feel the anger as you expose the betrayals of your trust but then move into compassion remembering that we are all playing roles to assist each other in spiritual growth.

Understand the "powers that be" that control your world have only been able to do so with your permission. Once your anger is expressed, acknowledge their part in helping you to see that you have given away your power and release them from blame and find compassion. Only through compassion will you be able to create a world different from the one in which you find yourselves now.

So take this opportunity and step up to the plate. Now is the time for you to change the outcome and move to establish a 5D reality. It does not begin in 2012, it begins right now. The choice is yours.

In humble service,

Devin,

Questions and Answers:

CLIP

J: How will these changes occur and what will they look like?

D: The first change will be political in nature. By prolonging the pain of an indecisive victory as both sides struggle to win the election, the power imbalances hidden in your election process will be exposed. The exposure will come through the disparate reports coming through your media along with the education on political management they are providing you free of charge, by the way. Through these disparities, coupled with the increased amount of education, you can realize that as a nation your power to govern yourselves as promised in the concept of democracy was not in your hands as you had been led to believe.

As this knowledge comes to light, it triggers the pain of powerlessness, betrayal and victimhood causing you to wake up and begin to ferret out the many areas where your power is not in your hands and begin the process of taking it back. From that point on, you will begin to unite and create solutions that will enable you to form a new type of government and economy. It will be a snowball effect.

In some ways it will create crisis but from that crisis will emerge truly empowered souls. But some will say that they want the power but will find that once it is attained, they are not ready to maintain it. There will be those needed who will assist these individuals in learning how to carry their responsibilities in a compassionate manner and those who will come forward to take that responsibility and give it to others who can handle it. This, too, will create opportunities for physical and emotional expression but eventually the dust will settle and a new form of government will emerge with the power in the hands of an empowered people capable of compassionate management.

If one accepts the statistical assumptions of the models, and if Buchanan's unusual performance can be attributed to voters who intended to vote for Gore, then it can be claimed with a high degree of statistical confidence that the mistakes cost Gore somewhere between 2000 and 3000 votes. If Bush wins Florida by an amount smaller than this, such as 1700 votes, a strong claim can be made that the confusion over the unique ballot structure in Palm Beach cost Gore the presidency!

HERE IS WHAT I FOUND AT THIS WEBSITE:

The Stealing of America

This book is the culmination of a twenty five year investigation into computer vote fraud. Journalists James and Kenneth Collier answer the question.“Why can't we vote the bastards out?” And the answer is, “Because we didn't even vote the bastards in!”

“Votescam” will fill in the blanks for anyone who senses their vote is worthless, but doesn't know why. It tracks down, confronts, and calls the names of Establishment thieves who elegantly steal the American vote for their own profit. It comes face to face with the Supreme Court Justice who buried the vote fraud evidence; the most powerful female publisher in America, who won't permit her newspapers and television stations to expose vote rigging; the Attorney General who jailed Collier rather than expose the truth; and a cast of weak-kneed and corruptible politicians, lawyers, and newspeople who are entangled in this massive crime and are yet to be held accountable. The Colliers's wish was that this book be used as evidence in a Congressional hearing.

First published in 1992, immediately banned in major chain bookstores, “Votescam” has sold over 30,000 copies by word of mouth.

Do The Math: Election Returns Don't Add Up
By James Collier, Media Bypass Magazine

The seeds for the rigging of 1996 primaries were planted in 1964 when, within months of the JFK assassination, a power frenzy was unleashed in Washington. The CIA, FBI and the nation's most powerful media heads met in secret. The media agreed not to challenge the Warren Commission's preposterous conclusion that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone gunman. In return, the media gained the right to be the official vote-counting apparatus for presidential elections. This incident was documented in reports from the Air Force Staff College and American University.

The deal was struck and News Election Services (NES) was founded. Today, that network pool of NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, AP, the New York Times, Washington Post and others has a tote-board at 225 W. 34th St. in New York City. When Brokaw, Jennings, Rather and CNN tell the public on election night, at 7:01 pm EST, "We are the first with the most," they all lie. Just like Pravda, they get the same numbers from the NES board.

The networks also own the exit-polling unit, Voter Research and Survey (VRS). That allows them to announce who won the presidency at 7:01 p.m., before a single vote is counted. The numbers do not change, and are always 100 percent correct. NES merged with VRS and is now known as Voter News Service (VNS).

The Greates Cover-Up Of All: Vote Fraud In America
By James J. Condit, Jr.

CLIP
Despite the brutal cover up that has been conducted for going on date decades by the newsmedia and the major parties to prevent you from hearing about this issue, some major media news items have appeared. In a rare but superb news story on the eve of the 1988 Presidential election, Dan Rather (CBS Evening News) engaged in this exchange with computer expert Howard J. Strauss of Princeton University:

Rather: "Realistically, could the fix be put on in a national election?"

Strauss: "Get me a job with the company that writes the software for this program. (ed- Strauss was referring to the most common computer program in use) Then I'd have access to one third of the votes. Is that enough to fix a general election?"

"A House Without Doors"

In an earlier clip during this CBS interview, Howard J. Strauss dropped ft bombshell: "When it comes to computerized elections, there are no safeguards. It's not a door without locks, it's a house without doors."

WHO COUNTS THE AMERICAN VOTE?

Despite the wide-spread, and perfectly reasonable belief that the government counts the national vote on election night, the reality is entirely different: The vote is counted by a little-known private corporation named Voter News Services (VNS) located in New York City. VNS is a major media conglomerate comprised of all the major networks, including Fox and CNN, and also the wire services, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. All of the vote results tabulated in each county, mainly by computer, are transferred to VNS where they are tabulated in secret and disseminated to the public, who accepts them without question. The computer tabulated votes at the county level leave no paper trail. Only the corporations who program the software to count votes in each state know for sure if the results are fair, or if fraud has indeed been been committed. There are no checks and balances. The software is not open to public scrutiny. Neither is VNS.

Created in 1970 as News Election Services (NES), VNS has existed in near total secrecy for thirty years and may well be the most powerful corporation in the world. Most people who know of their existence incorrectly believe they are little more than a polling organization. The fact is that they have co-opted the vote count in America, despite their claims that the results they disseminate are "unofficial." These results are accepted across the board on election night by Americans and election officials. VNS is very well aware of this uncontested power. They know that very few Americans have the time or inclination to challenge the vote count. They also know that when they are challenged, they have little to fear. Understandably, they have responded to accusations of vote fraud with the arrogance befitting the power of a private and unaccountable media corporation.

On May 18th, E. Baylis, a reporter for the Asheville Global Report called VNS and requested information about their organization. Ms. Baylis spoke with Lee C. Shapiro, the press secretary for VNS. The simple conversation was quickly aborted when Baylis asked if a citizen watchdog group existed to oversee the function of VNS on election night. Shapiro replied that she was "not going to get into this with you," and insisted she had a meeting to attend.

Military anguishes over missing ballots
Some claim overseas mail sent 4th-class instead of 1st

A number of WND's military readers have specifically reported that their ballots were sent fourth class "bulk mail" -- which in some cases delays delivery by a month or more -- instead of first class.
CLIP

While most of the affected military personnel are understandably outraged at their ballots allegedly being sent by the "slow boat," some critics see a motive at work -- a tactic by a Democrat administration designed to deny servicemen and women their right to vote, since it is widely assumed based on past elections that most overseas military votes will end up in the Republican column. Although there is no proof of anything of the sort, the idea seems logical enough to servicemen who feel they have been devalued for the last eight years.

You can think of this as a rumor if you like - I am constrained from
revealing sources or naming names.

Very highly placed leader in UK's New Labour government believes criminalization of pot to be wrong. 130 MP's (member of parliament) are in favor of medicinal cannabis, and 30 MP's are in favor of Holland-style "coffee shops" (smoke shops.)

Decriminalization in the UK would be a great move in the right direction. "Drugwar" and the prohibition which empowers the huge $corruption of DrugProfits and drives the prison/industrial/military complex and facist-style militarization of civilian police should be winding down as decriminalization gathers strength.

Dear Dave

Truth is, as from a few weeks ago, Cannabis was unofficially decriminalised
in UK, in de facto practice. It is the police and public opinion who have
decided this. Politicians have thus become a tad more isolated than
before, holding to the obsolete de jure position which has lasted for
thirty years. We've moved closer to the great exposure time when it is
revealed that few members of our government have not smoked cannabis, and
many of them still do so today. Add in younger royalty and many other
'scions of society' too. The law, in a real sense of its de facto
applicability, has already changed, and the rest is just delayed
formality. The key issue here, politically, is the alleged 'special
relationship' between UK and USA, which is weakening annually as our
interests separate: it is only USA which really drives the global 'war
against drugs', and to some extent it is one of America's wars against the
world - another major issue heading soon for major exposure.

Middle East in freefall

by IGNACIO RAMONET

From: http://www.monde-diplomatique.fr/en/2000/11/01leader

They came so close. In June it really seemed as if the Palestinians and Israelis had peace in the Middle East within their grasp. On the thorniest issues - the return of land, the status of East Jerusalem and the question of refugees - a historic compromise seemed on the point of being made (1). Necessarily, this meant concessions - and more for the Palestinians than the Israelis (2) - concessions which extremists on both sides swiftly condemned as unacceptable, even as sacrilege. However, seven years after Oslo, despite its imperfections, the outline agreement seemed to open the way for real steps towards peace. By putting a stop to the violence in the region - after more than 50 years of war - these steps would have guaranteed Israel's legitimate right to security, would have recognised the Palestinians' no less legitimate right to live in a sovereign state of their own, and would have enabled the Middle East to get on with the business of economic and social development. But since late September this virtuous spiral has turned into a murderous spiral of violence which threatens to set the whole region on fire.

We came so close to peace, so why are we now suddenly plunged back into war? At the July negotiations between Yasser Arafat and Ehud Barak at Camp David, it was clear that the Palestinians, angered by constant violations by the Israeli authorities (3) and under pressure from a civilian population exasperated by the humiliations of occupation, were unwilling to make further concessions. In particular on East Jerusalem, which they intend to make the capital of their future state. They argued that international law was on their side, since UN resolution 242 requires Israel to withdraw to its borders prior to the 1967 war, and therefore to give back East Jerusalem, which was taken during that war. This includes the whole of the Old City, which contains the holy places of the three monotheistic religions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The Palestinians were, however, willing to accept that the Jewish quarter of the Old City and the Western Wall remain under full Israeli sovereignty.

Ehud Barak saw himself as representing the desire of part of his people that Jerusalem should be kept undivided, as their "eternal capital". He would not accept division of the city. Yasser Arafat could not move either, knowing that he was bound by Muslims and by Muslim governments to keep the holy places under Arab safekeeping.

This double impasse, on an issue that is certainly political but which has strong religious overtones, was what caused the breakdown of negotiations - a breakdown which extremists on both sides hailed as a victory. They knew that the moment of confrontation was approaching. Ehud Barak's final move - proposing that the Palestinian capital be established, under the name of Al-Quds (the Arab name for Jerusalem), less than two kilometres from the Temple Mount, which would remain under the guardianship (but not the sovereignty) of the Palestinians - was not sufficient to block the spiral of violence.

We all know what happened next: General Ariel Sharon's provocative visit to the al-Aqsa complex, surrounded by a thousand armed police; the protests by Palestinian civilians; the disproportionate brutality of Israeli repression (4); the Palestinian children and teenagers killed by bullets; the odious lynching of two Israeli soldiers in Ramallah; the murderous raids against Israeli Arabs in Nazareth and elsewhere. Inhumanity writ large. It is a political regression towards a Balkans-style ethnic-religious conflict, as happened in Bosnia and Kosovo. And here and there, fanatics on both sides launch calls for "ethnic cleansing" or "separation of populations", as happened in Cyprus (5). For Palestinians, it is a return to despair. For Israelis, the majority of whom remain in favour of a peace agreement, it is a return to fear.

The need for such an agreement is as strong as ever. Israel, a military superpower backed by the hyperpower of the United States (which has been outrageously partial towards Israel), needs to show that it understands the meaning of justice. This is far from a level playing field. In the West Bank and Gaza we have a classic colonial situation, with both colonisers and colonised. Israeli politicians seem incapable of meeting the challenges of post-Zionism, and also seem signally lacking in imagination, boldness and humanity. Will they have the courage to take the steps that need to be taken? First, dismantle the enclave settlements in Hebron and Gaza, which were created illegally, usually by heavily armed far-right fanatics. Second, give up the illusion that the Palestinians are willing to settle for just about anything since the odds are stacked so heavily against them. Third, admit that the Palestinians are fighting for freedom and independence, and that the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, which is criminal in its treatment of civilians, is also suicidal for the survival of the Jewish state (6). Geographic realities and the demands of the future leave these two peoples no choice but to come to an understanding with each other.
