"Sharon Plan" for Mideast War Exposed
July 11 (EIRNS)--Highly placed U.S.-based sources have provided this news service with details of Ariel Sharon's plans for a new Mideast war, in the works within days of his taking office as Israel's Prime Minister earlier this year.
According to the sources, shortly after he was elected, Sharon met with a small group of trusted political and military allies, and spelled out, in confidential memos, a war plan targetting the Palestinian Authority, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and other Arab neighbors.
Two factors were identified by the sources as key to the "Sharon Plan:"
1. Sharon's ability to use Hamas as a tool for destabilizing Jordan, ultimately overthrowing King Abdullah II and establishing Jordan as a "Palestinian homeland" under Hamas control. To this end, Sharon, who was instrumental in the launching of the Hamas movement earlier in his career, has dispatched his son as a personal back-channel emissary to the Islamist group. Key Hamas personnel have already been infiltrated into Jordan, in preparation for Sharon's provocation of a new general Mideast war--in the days or weeks ahead, the sources said.
In many ways, the Sharon-backed Hamas targetting of Jordan is a replay of the early 1970s "Black September" destabilization which involved Abu Nidal, long suspected of being an asset of British and Israeli intelligence.
In the 1970s, Hamas was built up by Israeli occupying forces as a "countergang" to the PLO of Yasser Arafat. Hamas leaders were granted licenses by Israeli authorities to set up food kitchens, clinics, schools and daycare centers, to create a governing structure alternative to Arafat's Fatah.
2. Sharon's ability to manipulate the Bush Administration into giving de facto support to the war drive. Sharon has been operating on the assumption that President Bush can be manipulated into supporting Israeli war provocations because Bush et al. seek to justify a serious defense buildup, which would require a perceived war danger, to win Congressional support.
Indeed, last week, testifying before Congress, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld acknowledged that a war crisis would give the Administration leeway to crank up defense spending, from the current 3% of GDP, to 8-10%.
Sharon also assessed that Colin Powell and others in senior positions, who might not favor a war provocation, would be outmaneuvered by Israel and by wealthy and well-connected U.S.A. Israeli Lobby assets.
Hit Teams Dispatched
According to the sources, Sharon has dispatched at least two Israeli hit teams to Europe, targetting Arabs aligned with Arafat and the Palestinian Authority. Hamas teams are also reportedly activated--with clandestine Israeli backing--to target American assets in Europe and the Middle East.
Sharon's so-called "moderation" after the June 1 Tel Aviv disco bombing was, say the sources, geared to win support from rightwing and center-left Israelis for a later war drive.
Further, the sources say, Sharon is conducting a vicious psychological operation in Israel, to secure popular support for a war by staging nearly non-stop terror scares. A prominent Israeli businessman confirmed to this news service that almost nightly, Israeli police enter restaurants, hotels, shops, etc., ordering patrons to evacuate due to "bomb threats." The businessman, a former Mossad official, checked with Israeli authorities and confirmed that the bomb scares are in almost all cases hoaxes, perpetrated by Sharon to traumatize the public into accepting as justified any anti-Arab military actions.
Sharon has, according to the U.S. sources, gotten the blessings of high-level factions in Britain for a conventional war in the Mideast, which would offer London an opportunity to extend its sphere of influence in the Persian Gulf. Sharon will soon seek a meeting with Russian President Putin, in an effort to win some degree of Moscow support for the war moves.
LaRouche Factor
One U.S. source reported that Sharon's ability to deploy Jewish Underground terrorists in a provocation against the Temple Mount Islamic holy sites was undermined by last December's release of the Executive Intelligence Review special report, "Who Is Sparking a Religious War in The Middle East?" which exposed Sharon's hand, and the British monarchy's, in the plan to blow up the Mideast.
Now, the sources add, Sharon is preparing to use a new terrorist attack against Israeli civilians--an attack likely to come from Hamas-linked terrorists under de facto Sharon control--to justify a general war.
The sources noted that high-level Israeli military and intelligence officials share Lyndon LaRouche's assessment that Israel cannot win a protracted irregular war. For a majority of Israeli military professionals, this means Israel must accept a meaningful peace agreement with the Palestinian Authority.
For Sharon and his rabid allies, it means that Israel must provoke a general war, under cover of which Israel could occupy the territories currently under the control of the Palestinian Authority, and either eliminate or exile the PA leadership from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
The sources warned that Sharon would use any pretext to justify a military strike against Iraq, probably in a ground invasion of Jordan that would also topple King Abdullah II. Israel has already attacked radar installations in Syrian territory, in hopes of forcing Damascus into war.
By launching such a regional war "in reaction" to a terrorist attack, particularly in the context of simultaneous terrorist actions against American targets, Sharon would hope to assure that Israel would win the solid support of the U.S. and Western Europe.
Ultimately, the sources concluded, Sharon would move to "transfer" large portions of the Arab population of Israel--along with a majority of West Bank and Gaza Palestinians--to the east bank of the Jordan River, under a Sharon-sponsored Hamas regime, thus achieving the "final solution" to the "Palestinian problem."

ISRAELIS GENERALS' PLAN TO "SMASH" PALESTINIANS
LONDON, July 12 (AFP) - Israeli generals have updated plans for an all-out assault to smash the Palestinian authority, force out leader Yasser Arafat and kill or detain its army, according to a report published Thursday in London.
Foreign Report, published by the influential Jane's information group, says it has seen what it claims to be an executive summary of a proposal presented to the Israeli government Sunday.
The assault would be launched at the government's discretion after the next big suicide bomb attack in Israel that causes widespread deaths and injuries, citing the bloodshed as justification.
According to Foreign Report, the generals envisage a military operation of up to one month.
Estimated Israeli casualties would be measured in the hundreds. Palestinian losses would be in their thousands.
By the end of the operation, the generals believe Arafat would either have left or been forced to leave the West Bank and Gaza Strip. His closest allies would be either dead or also out of the area.
The Palestinian armed forces, estimated at some 40,000, would be disarmed, and either dead or held in detention camps.
The blueprint, with the title "The destruction of the Palestinian Authority and disarmament of all armed forces," was presented by Israeli chief of staff Brigadier-General Shaul Mofaz, Foreign Report said.
A suicide bomb attack would provide the necessary motive for Israeli troops as well as enabling Israeli ambassadors and other officials to tell concerned countries that military action was a justified response.
The journal's sources said the Israeli army's current high command, perhaps reflecting the views of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, wants the military to be given a more assertive role.
The planned operation would certainly do that.
It would begin with heavy air raids by F-16 and F-15 warplanes against all the main Palestinian Authority installations in Gaza and Ramallah.
It might be preceded by a heavy artillery barrage to soften up targets. Israel would then deploy around 30,000 paratroopers, infantry and armoured brigades, the equivalent of an army.
The Palestinians may not put up much resistance, the proposals say, but if they do, around 300 Israeli soldiers might be killed.
As for international reaction, that would be too little, too late.
The generals say some kind of peace force would probably be sent to protect the Palestinians, but by the time it got there it would be faced with a "fait accompli."
Moreover, Israel's neighbours would be unlikely to retaliate with any great effect, the planners believe.
Quoting forecasts by the military intelligence service, the generals doubt Egypt, Jordan or Syria would want to go to war on behalf of the Palestinians.
Egypt might send troops into Sinai, in response to which Israel would call up its reserves.
Iraq may try to mobilise its forces, but they would be destroyed by Israeli warplanes before they could even reach the Jordanian border.

We are staring down the barrel of the most deadly holocaust in history, absurdly embodied in George Bush, Jr. Although it may appear a joke, this is in fact the most earth-shaking challenge of our lives, from which the entire world may never recover. You may have noticed over the past decades that the "United States" is being run by a rogue pack of politicians and militarists, for the benefit of giant corporations out to "globalize" every corner of the world, for profit, power, and better golfing. What you may not fully realize is that a CIA-BACKED COUP has taken place in the U.S.A.! The New York Times has confirmed it in a recent recount: the military, represented by their corporate cohorts, jammed the polls in Florida at the last moment, seizing the Executive branch even though their party should have lost the election. This is defined in the dictionary as a "coup," an unelected military-takeover of a formerly democratic government.
Although you may want to dismiss this assessment as "radical rhetoric," please consider the evidence: The Bush brothers (sons of former CIA Chief & VP Bush) claim to have "won" Florida, thanks to fraudulent maneuvers by Bush's campaign manager in Florida (the Secretary of State!), and the elder Bush's appointee on the Supreme Court (violating the U.S. Constitution). A legal examination of this "election" reveals Bush to be at best an "appointee," and not an "elected official" at all! Now consider the math:
The Republicans claim to have "won" by less than one one-hundredth of one percent of the votes in Florida (~500!), the state run by Jeb Bush. Yet Al Gore won the COUNTRY by half a million votes! Now the NY and LA Times have shown the stacking of fraudulent military absentee ballots (the Republican margin of "victory") while the Florida Sec.of State and a Republican judge blocked a hand recount of ballots (that would have given Gore +~5000). These are the facts of the most dubious democratic process in the history of the West. But why would the U.S. military and CIA destroy a democracy?
Politicians of the world, consider the true motives of this "President," appointed by the Pentagon and a Republican judge! Rather than representing the American people, he is a salesman for the giant oil and weapons corporations, as is his robot-hearted Vice-President, who happens to be CEO of Halliburton Industries, one of the largest military contractors on the planet. The Bushes and Cheney have set themselves (and their cohorts in the oil and military corporations) up for a massive diversion of the U.S. economy, represented at the moment by Bush's "Strategic Missile Defense" program. So the cash-flow, being drained from social programs, now goes directly from the desk of the President into the accounts of the Bush family and their friends, growing rich arming themselves against the rest of the world. Current projections of Pentagon spending have been increased to over $300 billion per year, dwarfing all the other countries in the world combined. As a comparison, the U.S. spends less than $250 billion on all other government and social programs combined.
If this isn't an Orwell novel, it's surely the most expensive tyranny in history! One of these bogus "missile tests" could finance a University, a hospital, a solar power array for an entire city. And then bigger ones are built, and blown up. One Trident submarine or aircraft carrier consumes as much energy and resources, produces more pollution than an entire city! The U.S. has hundreds of these roving "Death Star" platforms, missiles polished, ready to launch unspeakable Hiroshimas of vengeance on "the enemy." This is the most deadly racket ever devised, and it may cost humanity the entire living surface of planet Earth! That's why these same industrialists have built for themselves massively-shielded underground cities beneath the U.S., more black-budget billions down the drain.
Consider for a moment what "Strategic Missile Defense" actually implies for the rest of the world. Quite simply, it is a "shield" for offensive weaponry, on a planet-wide scale, which can also be used offensively, in a first-strike capacity. In other words, this is a system designed for total GLOBAL DOMINATION! Every megalomaniac's dream! Combined with cruise missiles and first-strike nuclear submarines deployed throughout the world, one can project that the warlords at the Pentagon are financing global GAS OVENS, to unleash Hell on Earth. Now, instead of hauling the victims to the ovens, the CIA can accomplish an entire genocide with the push of a few buttons. The merchants of death expect your cooperation, or at least your acquiescense. But at what price? A REAL TURN-OFF
A month after he said "conservation does not mean doing without," U.S. President Bush said he would cut electricity use at the White House, ordering employees to turn off lights when leaving their offices and switch off computers when they would be gone for two days or more. With these and other steps, the complex of White House buildings is expected to cut energy use by 10 to 12 percent. The president also proposed to restore $300 million in funding for Clinton-era research programs on energy conservation -- money that he struck from the budget earlier this year. Speaking to Energy Department employees yesterday, Bush jokingly urged them to stop their applause, "Okay -- conserve your energy." In turn, Democrats, and even the national press, have had a hard time not poking fun at Bush for his seeming about-face on the issue of conservation.

Undercutting an argument made by the Bush administration, a study by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences has found that federal research and development efforts to improve energy conservation and efficiency have produced big environmental and economic gains. The academy released a report yesterday detailing how a $13 billion federal investment since 1978 has returned $40 billion. About three-quarters of the economic benefits came from three programs that led to more efficient refrigerator and freezer compressors, fluorescent light ballasts, and heat-resistant window glass; the programs together cost only $11 million. The Bush administration has argued that such R&D doesn't get much bang for the buck, and its proposed fiscal year 2002 budget would cut spending in energy conservation and efficiency.

The chair of the current climate change conference, Dutch Environment Minister Jan Pronk, said yesterday that his "hopes are growing day by day" that an international agreement would be reached. But others at the conference in Bonn, Germany, were far more pessimistic about a positive outcome. It's not just environmental groups that are pulling for an agreement. One of the profound shifts in the climate debate, writes Elliot Diringer from Bonn, is that some leading corporations are now pushing for concrete steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Kyoto, Japan loosing face, the US contributing at least 25% of the problem, US Energy strategy flawed etc.... Since the current government of the US is not representative of the People it was designed to represent (recent election facts) should not the people of America unite with the Kyoto protocols regardless of its government’s stand? Japan will not loose face as the People of America will support them regardless of our government. People in the US will conserve and utilize more renewable energies, innovate as we have always done and will do all we can to stop fossil fuel programs. If Japan and other contributing countries state boldly that they represent x,y, z nations and the People of America rather than the government of the US, it will propel a level of pride and action here. It will be a sounding call to the world that the People of America do not agree with their government and thus “Independence Day” will be revived. What organizations as well as network efforts can be launched with credibility to express this reality to those orchestrating Kyoto? The People of America do want to participate. This, rather than the negative effects of our presumed government not doing so should be the focus. We are the People of America. We supposedly are the model of creating freedom and change through the will of the People. This is an excellent opportunity for evolutionary thinking and doing with the world, rather than against our own government.

The three of us have never teamed up like this before. But we all share something in common: a deep love of the ocean and marine mammals. That's why we're very disturbed by a U.S. military program that, if approved, will soon be bombarding millions of whales and dolphins around the world with intense noise.
You may have read about the U.S. Navy's "Low-Frequency Active" (LFA) sonar program. The military has been testing this new, high-powered system in secret for years. Now, the Navy wants to deploy it across 80 percent of our planet's oceans. LFA sonar is designed to detect enemy submarines by flooding vast expanses of the oceans with sound. Leaving aside the military wisdom of this sonar -- which is still in dispute -- the environmental dangers are becoming increasingly clear.
Here's the problem: LFA noise is billions of times more intense than that known to disturb whale migration and communication. Whales and dolphins depend on their sensitive hearing for survival. To put it simply, a deaf whale is a dead whale. Deafening noise from the LFA system will interfere with the vital biological activities of marine mammals. Scientists fear that long-term exposure to LFA could push entire populations over the brink into extinction.
Inevitably, there will also be marine mammals unlucky enough to swim too close to LFA loudspeakers. Imagine an acoustic wave so powerful that, even at substantial distances, it can destroy your hearing, cause your lungs or ears to hemorrhage, or even kill you.
We've already seen a glimpse of the resulting carnage. Last year, whales from four different species stranded themselves and died on beaches across the northern Bahamas during a Navy military exercise. All but one of the dead animals examined by researchers had suffered hemorrhaging around the inner ear -- the telltale sign of acoustic trauma. The U.S. Navy's own report concluded that it is "highly likely" that the stranding was caused by the use of mid-frequency active sonar. But despite this tragic event, the Navy now wants to deploy LFA, the most extensive active sonar system ever devised.
We know that different frequencies will affect different marine mammals and that the lower the frequency, the farther it penetrates the ocean. We believe it is unconscionable to expose marine mammals around the world to more high intensity sonar. For years FDA and aspartame producers declared it's just a food additive, gets digested, never never never gets in the blood. And, of course, aspartame is NOT A DRUG, a pharmaceutical healing agent, say they!
Then C B Manion announced in l998 aspartame controls pain from arthritis. This won lots of media coverage, including a writeup in the illustrious peer-reviewed medical journal Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics l998; 63: 580 - 593: Treatment of Osteoarthritis With Aspartame. Since aspartame is well known to harden the synovial lubricating fluid in your joints, with excruciating results, Manion's revelation seemed odd at the least.
Finally the truth came out when Dr. H. J. Roberts ordered records of Manion's work: Guess what, there was only a single person in the "study": Manion! He drank some aspartame and said: "I'm better! Perhaps it was in a Rum and Diet Coke! Was it the Bacardi that did the work?
