Special Reminder About the Change to Daylight Saving Time
Hi!
This is a special reminder concerning the change to daylight saving time (summertime) this Sunday March 8, which applies mostly to North America and some other countries (Cuba, Paraguay, and Uruguay) which means that, for instance on the East Coast, the meditation will now begin at noon instead of 11 am, while on the West Coast, it will start at 9 am instead of 8. In Europe this change will take place on March 29 as usual. Some locations (Saskatchewan, Arizona) in North America do not observe daylight saving time. To verify you corresponding local time (to 16:00 Universal Standard Time), please go at

Secrets behind daylight saving time

(NECN) - Before heading to bed on Saturday night, remember to turn your clocks ahead one hour, because the rest of the country will be at 2 a.m. Sunday. Benjamin Franklin thought up daylight saving around the year 1784, but the trend did not catch until 1916, and that was in Europe. The United States followed two years later. Then, in 2007, Congress voted to change the start of daylight saving from the first Sunday in April to the second Sunday in March. Several U.S. territories, plus Hawaii and most of Arizona, do not observe daylight saving.
