There is ALWAYS Hope Series #3: Celebrating Humanity's Awakening
In the process of compiling this for you, I've discovered this past week LOTS of really wonderful material - and some quite disheartening news too as you'll see at the end of this compilation. So let's start with this quite empowering eBlessing card which you may send to friends through this LINK
Bless you for being a glittering jewel in the wonderful net of life and for reflecting in your surface all the other jewels in the net, infinite in number.
Bless you for being a dreamer; for thinking big and daring to be great. Thank you for showing the way.
Thank you for your clear communication; for your considerate words that go like sunlight to one's heart.
Bless you for being a messenger of God, delivering the message of Love, Peace and Joy.
Bless you for loving all of life, and for saying YES to each moment and to each "other." Thank you for being courageously involved.
Bless you for being the change you wish to see in the world and for realizing that you are indeed as powerful as you can imagine.
Bless you for being willing to sacrifice; for letting go and making space for the new; for serving the greatest vision you have of yourself.
Bless you for being an example of humankind's self-empowerment and self-actualization and for reminding us that everything we need is within.
Thank you for our sacred relationship; for allowing me to awaken to the awareness that although we are not outwardly identical, We are One.
As you'll see there is much to celebrate and rejoice for in this compilation, as well as many inspiring ideas and uplifting visions. Feel free to share widely!
Also concerning the Pathways to a New Earth proposal I made last November 27 in There is ALWAYS Hope Series #2: A Higher Standard of Leadership) there has been many new commitments and letters of support posted at http://users3.smartgb.com/g/g.php?a=s&i=g35-42717-bc and it looks like it is going to happen. But I would LOVE that many more people take a couple minutes to let us know of their interest for this idea of cocreating a common positive vision for our future that will serve as an inspirational beacon to foster ever greater awakening and participation around the world in this Shift of Ages. As I was explaining to a friend here a couple days ago, it is as if those participating to this project will become advanced sensing receivers tapping into the various possible futures just ahead of now in the multidimensional time Continuum and picking the best pathways for a Light & Love based future as inspired in meditation or otherwise by Universal Consciousness. By coalescing a coherent vision out of all contributors' visions, we should be able to seed humanity's consciousness with the resonant field of this soon-to-be future and thus precipitate its manifestation over any other less preferable future pathways.
So jump in and be part of what might very well be a most exciting and fascinating experiment in global cooperation with the very Force of Life acting through us in a most organic, intuitive manner. Click HERE and tell us - preferably before December 15 - what piece of this collective cocreation game you wish to contribute. Afterwards, only those who have manifested their interest will be kept informed about this project's progress through a separate e-list.
P.S. BTW for those of you who wish to take part in the collective cocreation of the preferred Pathways to a New Earth, I would recommend that you read both The Science Of Collective Consciousness and How a New World Is Born below as well as pay close attention to several other elements in this compilation that I've picked because of their relevance to what we are about to do/be.
Reminder: To ensure that these compilations are not blocked, please add email@example.com to your safe senders list. "Embracing the Vision of a New Era - We are fast approaching the end of a 9,000 year cycle. The continuation of repeating patterns buried in human consciousness can be changed before we leave this cycle and prepare for a new era. The power of the Universe is in the palm our hands to negate any parasites attached to group consciousness. Together, we can transmute the unconscious memories of negative end time prophecies and their cataclysmic global consequences. So what do we choose for the immediate future? To create what we intend, and what we believe should now occur? Or to continue to cling to the tattered remnants of ancient history? Experience in the present moment is real; all the rest is hypothesis. We do not have to be the victims of the cyclical nature of existence - we can change the future NOW... In the light of perfect, unconditional love and truth there is no darkness. Let Light, Love and Truth be our inspiration as we approach milestone 2012 - our gateway to infinity."
- Kim Thomas (Kim_kim@hotmail.co.uk) -- Sent by Michael dean (firstname.lastname@example.org) in reaction to "Christine Brouwers report of dire prophecies of imminent global destruction" - Thousands Worldwide Prepare for the Apocalypse, Expected in 2012 - featured in my last compilation as an example of this growing Y2K type of phenomenon with more and more people worrying about an apocalyptic event in 2012. Michael also wrote: "I would only add that the word apocalypse simply means revelation. This has not deterred the doomsday merchants - who are clearly determined to foist their pessimism on anyone who will listen - from imposing on it a second, entirely arbitrary, connotation of cataclysm." BTW a good round-up review of the whole phenomenon can be found in this article.
"On a personal level, the deepest possible revolution we can enact is a revolution in our sense of self, in our identity. The discrete and separate self of Descartes and Adam Smith has run its course and is becoming obsolete. We are realizing our own inseparateness, from each other and from the totality of all life. (...) Individually and collectively, anything we do to resist or postpone the collapse will only make it worse. So stop resisting the revolution in human beingness. If you want to survive the multiple crises unfolding today, do not seek to survive them. That is the mindset of separation; that is resistance, a clinging to a dying past. Instead, allow your perspective to shift toward reunion, and think in terms of what you can give. What can you contribute to a more beautiful world? That is your only responsibility and your only security. The gifts you need to survive and enjoy will come to you easily, because what you do to the world, you do to yourself."
"All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty. Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person. No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms. No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. Everyone has the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law. All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination. Everyone has the right to an effective remedy by the competent national tribunals for acts violating the fundamental rights granted him by the constitution or by law. No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile. Everyone is entitled in full equality to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal, in the determination of his rights and obligations and of any criminal charge against him."
"Some 2.5 billion human beings live in severe poverty, deprived of such essentials as adequate nutrition, safe drinking water, basic sanitation, adequate shelter, literacy, and basic health care. One third of all human deaths are from poverty-related causes: 18 million annually, including over 10 million children under five. However huge in human terms, the world poverty problem is tiny economically. Just 1 percent of the national incomes of the high-income countries would suffice to end severe poverty worldwide. Yet, these countries, unwilling to bear an opportunity cost of this magnitude, continue to impose a grievously unjust global institutional order that foreseeably and avoidably perpetuates the catastrophe. Most citizens of affluent countries believe that we are doing nothing wrong. Thomas Pogge seeks to explain how this belief is sustained. He analyses how our moral and economic theorizing and our global economic order have adapted to make us appear disconnected from massive poverty abroad. Dispelling the illusion, he also offers a modest, widely sharable standard of global economic justice and makes detailed, realistic proposals toward fulfilling it."
"Like tiny ripples that merge to form great waves, combined human intent is worth more than the sum of its parts. A single individual can initiate worldwide improvement by emitting conscious frequencies of love, beauty, goodness and wisdom. A group of people focusing their energy on sending out light to the world can set the stage for positive global transformation. All of us possess the ability to channel love energy, to heal, to be a conduit for white light and to positively influence our fellow humans from afar. You can help bring about an earth where love triumphs over violence and people take pleasure in simply being alive. Alone, the light you emit is a wonderful healing tool, but when you join with others who share your intent to shine compassion and positive energy over the world, a powerful force is created. Our collective light and consciousness will wash over the planet - enveloping people, communities, cities, countries and continents. You are not one of many. You are really many of ONE."

Humanitys Team http://www.humanitysteam.org
Humanitys Team is a spiritual movement whose purpose is to communicate and implement the belief that we are all one, one with God and one with life, in a shared global state of being, so that the behavior of humanity may shift to reflect this understanding. Dubbed a civil rights movement for the soul, the movement has some 15,000 adherents from more than 90 countries on six continents. Humanitys Team was created by the spiritual author Neale Donald Walsch in 2003 in response to the crisis that he saw the human race facing following the events of September 11th, 2001. In early 2004, Steve Farrell, the worldwide coordinating director, formed a Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and governance structure with a small leadership team of people from around the world. At the same time, country coordinators around the world created local structures and programs focusing mainly on spiritual education and inner work and joined with a worldwide leadership team in collaborating on and approving the governance structure guiding Humanity's Team today. Humanitys Team, based in Boulder, Colorado, proposes a New Spirituality that enlarges and enhances humanitys current beliefs about God and about life in ways, the movement contends, that could change how we live with each other, bringing peace and harmony to our planet at last. The New Spirituality is not a new religion. Rather, it is an expansion of all our present theologies; an updating of them; a refreshing of them, rendering all of our current sacred teachings even more relevant to our present day and time. Key to the New Spirituality is a belief that God is not separate from anyone or anything and neither are we. See our Six Year Global Oneness Initiative. - History

The following is an excerpt from Farmers of Paradise ~ Manifesting Our Dreams by Aluna Joy Yaxk'in (email@example.com) taken from her December 2008 newsletter which you may read in its entirety at http://www.kachina.net/~alunajoy/news12-08.html
(...) This next dimension is not strange place . . . It is already in us. It will be very familiar to us all. It is a manifestation of all of our hopes and dreams that live in our hearts. It is all the things we wish for, dream about, envision or feel. It is the dimension that we have already created. It is our future. Of course we call it the future, but in their consciousness there is no time . . . it is now. We call it the future, because we are still in linear time. It is not another dimension where we are going to . . . where we will feel out of place and have to start all over. It is some place that is going to feel so familiar and very close to home. You know that empty space inside of us that we keep trying to fill? That is what it is. It is the missing piece. If we did not have that bit of emptiness inside of us, we would have forgotten to look for paradise in the first place. There are so many threads going into the mountain that there is nearly no separation between us and paradise already.
So now the Oracles have some homework for us. The homework is to let go of what we think our life IS . . . and to believe it is what we dream it to be. They want everyone now to fully expect that our lives are going to be different. Expect it. Act if it is already here. They want us to imagine that all the problems and all the issues that we think we have are going to miraculously disappear without any reason. "Poof" . . . just like that. We will not have any evidence of how this happened. It just happens. Miracles . . . Magic The Oracles invite you to become blind to the way your life was, and to assume that the higher vision is going to manifest in the next day, hour, minute, second . . . . Another ability that will show up is that we will simply know what to do immediately. Indecision and procrastination will be a thing of the past. Spirit and an open heart will give us the answers we need instantaneously. It ready does! It is the mind that is clunky, slow, and filled with doubt. It will be so easy to let go of the things that we know no longer serve us when we operate from the heart. It will be effortless.
You can count on it. Things are changing. The issues you think your life has now may vanish, and something better will show up to take its place. Change is happening in everywhere, in everything you could possibly imagine and from every direction. By year's end, everyone will feel the subtle shifts in the collective consciousness toward a positive outlook and living impeccably. Hope, courage and personal power are returning quickly. You will remember that the collective masses are back in charge not the elite few. It was an illusion that we have busted through.
So just imagine from this point on that life is going to change in a positive, abundant and healthy way, because all of us have taken a step closer to paradise. The Oracles strongly state here that the only block we have manifesting paradise is that we did not believe it is real. This is the only thing stopping us from living in paradise right now, our doubt. We forgot to believe that our dreams are REAL, and that they have been manifesting all around us. The Oracles said that they have been storing the vision of paradise for us until we realize that it is actually a reality; not fantasy. Remember your dreams of paradise need your energy for them to find you! Remember like frequency, attracts like frequency!

TELL MERKEL TO BE A CLIMATE LEADER AGAIN http://www.avaaz.org/en/merkel_lead_on_climate/
Last year Chancellor Merkel presented herself as a climate hero, vowing to cut greenhouse gas emissions, promote renewable energy and establish a robust Emissions Trading Scheme. This time around, at the UN climate talks in Poland, Merkel is undermining the negotiations. Without her support, the EU climate package will likely fail, and with it the crucial global climate talks. But there is still hope, if Chancellor Merkel -- who is highly sensitive to her international reputation -- receives thousands of messages from around the world urging her to maintain a strong commitment to climate change, we'll have a chance to influence the final climate deal that will be agreed at the end of this week.
Develop & Implement a National Strategy for Sustainability http://www.change.org/ideas/view/develop_implement_a_national_strategy_for_sustainability
The Obama Administration should adopt Sustainable Change as an Organizing Principle for the federal government. With only 5% of the worlds population, the US consumes 1/4 of the natural resources. Meanwhile humanity uses 30% more of the earths bio-capacity than can be sustained. At this rate, well need two planets to meet everyone's needs by 2030. We know the catastrophes that could result from global warming. The only answer, short of total disaster, is to make a rapid transition to full sustainability. The US agreed, along with the other UN Member States, to create a National Strategy for Sustainability - at the Rio Earth Summit Conference in 1992 and World Summit in 2002. The Obama Administration can lead our country in developing and implementing such a National Strategy Plan by starting with the reports and recommendations from the President's Council on Sustainable Development under Clinton. See: www.citnet.org/leadership - 717-264-5036 firstname.lastname@example.org - NOTE from Jean: Rob is a long-time ERN subscriber. I encourage all US subscriber to go vote for his excellent proposal; however even if you do not live in the US you can still vote. As Rob says, given that the actions of the US effect the entire world and that many of these recommendations have serious international ramifications, we should all vote for the ideas and proposals we favor. This idea is currently in 1st Place in Environmental Conservation and is in position to make it into the second round.
PS Note from JEAN: Regarding Rob Wheeler's proposal above, I also recommend you give a look at THIS POST from Rob in which he wrote: "If the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was fully implemented, pretty much all of our global problems and challenges would be solved. The 800 million people that go hungry would be fed; the 1 billion without electricity or water would have these things; the 2 billion without toilets could have access to one; the 850 million illiterate adults could be educated and all wars would cease. This is what would be required to guarantee all peoples their basic human rights as contained in the Declaration and which all of the UN Member States, along with the worlds people, have signed on to achieve. Now the good news. Forty four percent of the worlds population live below the international poverty line of $2 per day and consume only 1.3 percent of the worlds global product; but they would need only 1 percent more to escape poverty as so defined. Meanwhile, the high-income countries, with less than a billion people, consume about 81 percent of the global product. With our average per capita income nearly 180 times greater than that of the poor (at market exchange rates), we could eradicate severe poverty worldwide if we chose to do so without much problem at all. (See Thomas Pogge's book World Poverty and Human Rights.) Of course we would need to agree on how to do so. One of my favorite ways would be to place a global sustainability tax on all natural resources that are extracted and consumed which would then go into a fund that could be used to invest in making the transition to a sustainable future particularly in the developing world. This would then serve as a disincentive that would encourage us to limit our consumption of natural resources and to recycle and reuse the things that we do produce and use. There are many other good ideas as well for how we could eradicate poverty and create a sustainable world. For example, I have represented the Global Ecovillage Network at the United Nations for many years. Thousands of villages around the world are using a multi-sectoral community based approach to solving and meeting their basic human needs. This includes adopting and implementing such practices as renewable energy, organic gardening, environmental restoration, cultural events and community gatherings, eco-friendly building, cooperative schooling, water harvesting and composting, etc. Imagine if the Obama Administration would provide funding, or insist that the World Bank provide funding, for towns, villages, and cities around the world to use the ecovillage model of planning and sustainable development to improve their living conditions...

A MUCH NEEDED INJECTION OF HOPE http://www.myss.com/news/archive/2008/112908.asp
(...) We can look at this time as a nightmare of chaos or we can look at this time as that which we have prepared ourselves for during these past many years, working on our health and on becoming more conscious individuals. If this isnt the time to put all that youve learned about being a conscious person into action, then when would be that time? Ask yourself, Why have I worked so hard on myself? Was it just to process the wounds from your childhood? Well, if it was, be done with that and get on with the business of thinking, living, acting, and perceiving the world around you through the lens of a mystic. This is the time to apply all the laws of the cosmos to every one of your challenges, to approach every problem through mystical reasoning and not that of ordinary reasoning, which will draw you backwards and into your history. Looking backwards at what you used to do or how you used to do something will not work anymore. (...) Our time has come. We are no longer waiting for the era of consciousness to begin. We are that era. We must now put to use all that we have prepared ourselves to be and to do through these years. The world is now the new monastery in the most cosmic meaning of that term and you are a mystic out of the monastery, who has the potential to be a force of great change in your personal life, for your family, your friends, and your community. We are indeed all in this together and thank God for that.
Global Visionaries Meet in Barcelona (Nov 30, 2008) http://www.positivenews.org.uk/artman/publish/article_2022.shtml
At the beginning of November 2008, the First European Human Forum was held at the World Trade Centre in Barcelona. 500 individuals of 35 different nationalities were brought together to discuss such issues as sustainability, social justice, education, growth, and social, economic and organisational development. The forum was inaugurated by Deepak Chopra and included a number of influential speakers from all over the world. Over the course of the three days, a number of plenary sessions, interactive dialogues and workshops were held. Deepak Chopra, President of the Alliance for a New Humanity explained that "It was not our their intention to legislate, but to change consciousness. We need to create networks in the area of communication, entertainment, education and sport." At the conclusion of the conference proposals for the future were discussed. The importance of self-awareness as the essential condition towards global consciousness and the need to change the world through a new system of values and education were all deemed to be of great importance. Looking towards the next forum held in San Diego, guidelines were conceived to create new work teams within companies, environmentally sustainable events and networks to generate change. Those 500 people who attended took a vow to assume commitment to non-violence in their thoughts, words and actions. The goal of the Alliance for a New Humanity then became to create a global movement that would mobilise 100 million people to make the same commitment. If you too would like to "take the vow" then please follow this link to pledge your commitment to this cause. www.itakethevow.com
Another World is Possible (Nov 30, 2008) http://www.positivenews.org.uk/artman/publish/article_2005.shtml
In January 2009 global activists will meet in the northern Brazilian city of Belem for the eighth international gathering of the World Social Forum. The city, which is located at the mouth of the Amazon, was chosen to highlight the importance of the region for the entire world. The global meeting will also seek to bring visibility to the diversity of the area's population, the indigenous groups, "palenques" or "quilombos" (communities originally founded by escaped African slaves) and riverbank-dwellers, not to mention the rural labourers who are exploited in modern-day slavery conditions. The WSF was originally founded in 2001 as a kind of counterpoint to the World Economic Forum, which was held at the same time in the Swiss resort town of Davos. While the economic forum brings together business and political leaders from around the globe, the WSF draws mainly civil society representatives who reject globalisation in its current form. It is the world's largest event for providing possible models for a sustainable and alternative planet. In past years, the annual forum has convened in Porto Alegre, Brazil; Mumbai, India; Bamako, Mali; Caracas, Venezuela; Karachi, Pakistan and Nairobi, Kenya. The forum attracts people from around the world, who challenge the dominant forces and ideologies which seek to impose homogeneity by excluding or isolating those who are different and adopting inflexible "one size fits all" laws. In recent decades, diversity has increasingly begun to be valued and the United Nations now has a presence at the WSF through UNESCO. The forum provides an opportunity for dialogue and reflection on the future of the world's societies with an emphasis on solidarity, justice, peace and human rights. One group of committed activists attending will be La Caravana Arcoiris por la Paz, a non-profit intentional social project whose international volunteers work to support social development. Founded in 1996 in Mexico, the caravan is a collective of people who travel aboard colourful buses through Latin America spreading the idea that "Another World is Possible."Alberto Ruz, founder of the caravan, is appealing for funds to take a team of 100 to Belem and build a model temporary Peace eco-village."We use artistic productions, conferences, workshops and specialised courses to carry out our mission," he said. "At our temporary peace villages, representatives of indigenous communities, peace movements, environmental organizations, social and spiritual change networks and artists from different parts of the world, all come to share their experiences in ecological campsites that are designed using principals of permaculture."If you can help support the caravan, please contact Alberto through his email below.Contact Alberto Ruz Buenfil through email@example.com - http://www.forumsocialmundial.org.br - http://www.lacaravana.org
Transplanting Memories 4 - FASCINATING! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=isgUEg01Gfs
In TRANSPLANTING MEMORIES, prominent medical experts attempt to explain why some organ recipients adopt these memories and emotions, also known as "cellular memories". While a handful of scientists are skeptical dismissing this strange phenomena as post-surgery stress or reaction to anti-organ rejection drugs -- they are also countered by a growing number of experts who believe cellular memories are indeed transplanted with organs. Dr. Candace Pert, a pharmacologist and professor at Georgetown University believes the mind is not just in the brain, but also throughout the body. This school of thought could explain such strange transplant experiences.

Cars can be run on air- right now (Video - 1 min 42 sec) http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/456.html
Odds are you've never heard of this car.Why not? Why is a French company developing it with zero help from the high rolling US-UK dominated global financial system which until recently had money for every loony scheme imaginable?Answer: The banking system and the oil industry are closely intertwined and they want to protect their investment in the gasoline infrastructure at all costs. Fortunately, France doesn't have the same commitment to gasoline as fuel that the US and UK does. France does have oil companies, but it doesn't have the equivalent of Exxon or Royal Dutch Shell. India doesn't either. But the French and the Indians do have superb engineers. Assuming that the collapse of the global financial system doesn't derail the launch of this car, India and France will have vehicles that are completely independent of the oil companies. No toxic fuel, no toxic emissions, super low cost, utter reliability, and here's the really cool part: the "fuel" could be available anywhere there is room for an air compressor including your own home. What's not to like about this? Why is the news of this technology all but banned in the US? The banking system and the oil industry (and news media industry) are closely intertwined. It's really that simple.
Air cars Here, there, everywhere (Video: 8 min 26 sec) http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/489.html
The BBC reported on the French version of this technology. This report from Australia goes into more depth and also covers an Australian version. How many billions of dollars in research and development funds would the big auto makers claim they need to get this far? Yet, the technology is here now, ready to exploit - and it is not being used. What's the hang up? Why are we still: * allowing ourselves to be dependent on whacked out foreign countries for our energy? * spending billions to transport and refine a highly toxic material? * polluting our air thereby sickening and killing people, especially children, with toxic fumes? * putting a massive, daily "transportation tax" on everyone who drives a car?

Manifesto in support of Ecuador and towards the constitution of a worldwide network against illegitimate debt http://www.tlaxcala.es/detail_campagne.asp?lg=en&ref_campagne=7
Latin America and the Caribbean continue to pay colonialist debts. These are foreign debts, ones that had been contracted in conditions that can only be described as illegitimate, deceitful or driven by corruption, undermining the sovereignty of the populations and forcing them to surrender all of their own wealth. Debts that are despicable, contracted under the reign of dictators, made only to subjugate and suppress, combined with the process of expansion of the debt in a way that can only be described as paradoxical: the more they are paid, the bigger they get. These are debts that have not been contracted to help the population, but to act against them. (...) The debts that have been contracted in this manner are illegitimate and have already been paid several times over. (...) Faced with the financial crisis and the economic recession that was provoked by the voracity of the transnational companies, who now want to make our peoples take upon themselves the burden the debts of others, it is indispensable to extend the definitive refusal of the payment of illegitimate debt to a worldwide level. We, intellectuals, artists, social activists, committed to democracy, to the freedom and emancipation of all the people of the world, support the decision of the Ecuadorian government to not pay a debt that they rightfully did not contract, and we constitute ourselves as promoters of a worldwide network against illegitimate debt and against colonialist debts, in coordination with all of the initiatives towards the cancellation of colonialist debts. The Global Resonance Network http://globalresonance.net/introduction.cfm
Resonance is an energetic or "vibrational" affinity that arises between people. It creates a dynamic bond and a sense of "oneness", a sense of harmony and mutual understanding. It can feel as though the energy of two or more people has fused together, into a single "resonant field". Resonance can take many forms and occur under many different circumstances. In the context of deep spirituality, resonance can be understood as the connecting link between the individual and the divine. The Global Resonance Network is exploring the phenomena of resonance as the basis of a transformative group spirituality, that brings out the best in every person involved, and enhances the experience of co-creativity and attunement. We believe that resonance is the key to building spiritual unity across the boundaries of diverse beliefs, and that through resonance on a large scale, a transformation of individuals and entire societies can occur. New Ubuntu Short Film and Adyashanti Interview http://globalonenessproject.org/blog/2008/10/14/new-ubuntu-short-film-and-adyashanti-interview
We have just added a new short film about the traditional African philosophy of Ubuntu, and a series of new clips from our recent interview with spiritual teacher Adyashanti . Ubuntu recognizes how we are inextricably bound in each other's humanity. Translated as, "I am because you are," Ubuntu describes a sense of unity between people through which we each discover our own strengths and virtues. Featuring healer Credo Mutwa, GreenHouse Project director Dorah Lebelo, and former Deputy Minister of Health Nozizwe Madlala-Routledge, this glimpse of South Africa shows compassion as a way of life. Adyashanti, the author of Emptiness Dancing, The Impact of Awakening, and My Secret is Silence, offers spontaneous and direct nondual teachings that have been compared to those of the early Zen masters and Advaita Vedanta sages. In these interview clips, he describes how in the development of human consciousness, there comes a shift from a sense of a separate self toward the experience of unity, and suggests that reaching a point of crisis can allow an opportunity for consciousness to shift, individually and collectively. Human Rights... For Who? (December 10, 08) http://www.stwr.org/the-un-people-politics/human-rights-for-who.html
The 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights will be rightly lauded as a landmark in international attempts to formalize the rights and responsibilities between governments and their citizens. If we ask if the Declaration has proven a success, however, we need only glance at a few statistics; almost three billion people live in poverty on less than US$2.50 a day, and the number of hungry people actually increased this year to nearly one billion people. As the world reaped record levels of harvests in 2008, the most basic right to food is still denied to around 1 in 6 people on the planet. But how did we get to this situation? An answer to this can be simply put: on the international stage, the world's most powerful nations have prioritised those human rights associated with political freedom and peace and security, at the expense of those rights related to economic justice. (...) Rather than a focussing on a narrowly imposed view of human rights, the anniversary of the UN Declaration gives us the opportunity to take stock of global priorities. An agenda that promotes peace, security and democracy has resulted in a form of military humanitarianism' and security-based human rights that play into the hands of the most economically powerful. In addition, the promotion of the economic rights of the majority world has been institutionalised in the World Bank and IMF, leading to a highly ideological attempt to secure basic human rights. To respond to these challenges, international governments should equally prioritise all of the rights and responsibilities in the UN Declaration to include those on economic justice, such as the right to adequate living and social protection, fair remuneration, and the right to adequate food and shelter. Such a holistic approach would help government and international bodies to tackle other complex human rights problems such as peace and security, terrorism and gender relations. CLIP
Sixty Years On, Inalienable Human Rights Still out of Reach for Many (Dec 10, 2008) http://en.epochtimes.com/n2/canada/human-rights-day-amnesty-8408.html
Human rights supporters across the country took part in a host of activities to commemorate International Human Rights Day on Wednesday, December 10. It was on this day 60 years ago that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) was signed. The UDHR holds special significance for Canadians since its first draft was authored by McGill University law professor John Peters Humphrey. Adopted in 1948 by the United Nations General Assembly at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris following the horrors of World War II, the UDHR established 30 inalienable rights that every human being should be guaranteed. The declaration was the first global recognition of universal human rights and has formed the basis for many human rights instruments that followed. Available in more than 360 languages, it is the most translated document in the world. However, for many around the world, inalienable human rights are far from being a reality. This was apparent in activities across the country on Wednesday, with human rights advocates taking the opportunity to raise awareness of various ongoing rights abuses in many countries. CLIP

Human Rights Day: No Rose-Colored Glasses, but Cautious Hope (DECEMBER 10, 2008) http://genocide.change.org/blog/view/human_rights_day_no_rose-colored_glasses_but_cautious_hope
With a tinge more optimism than I've felt this week, and with much greater eloquence, Susan Morgan at the Huffington Post joins the chorus of calls for new American leadership to end genocide, and to promote human rights more generally: "In Christiane Amanpour's powerful new documentary on genocide, Holocaust survivor and Nobel laureate, Elie Weisel states, 'When there is a crisis, a moral crisis, human rights should become the number one preoccupation for the American administration.' Playing devil's advocate, Amanpour asks, 'What if the Americans say 'Why us? Why is that fair?' He replies, "Because the whole world will say, 'if America doesn't, why should we?'"Weisel speaks the truth. This week, on December 10, the international community recognizes the 60th anniversary of the United Nations' adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. For America, the leader of the free world and a beacon of hope to oppressed and impoverished people around the globe, this anniversary is a solemn reminder of the ideals we stand for and the moral responsibilities we have abdicated for far too long." RIGHTS: Politics Still Reign Over Principles at U.N. (Dec 10) http://www.ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=45063
UNITED NATIONS - The United Nations Wednesday commemorated the 60th anniversary of the landmark Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) against the backdrop of widespread political repression -- most notably in Zimbabwe, Sudan, Burma (Myanmar), Iraq, Afghanistan and in the Israeli-occupied territories of West Bank and Gaza. But a sharply divided Security Council has remained politically impotent against continued atrocities worldwide, in violation of humanitarian law and international conventions, including the UDHR. (...) Rob Wheeler of the World Alliance for Transforming the U.N. said the United Nations, in failing to ensure that all people's rights are met, is actually violating several articles of its own founding Charter. "We thus urge the United Nations to organise and hold a U.N. Charter Review Conference, under Article 109 of the Charter, in order to determine what can and must be done to ensure that the charter is upheld and that all people's most basic human rights are indeed provided and met," he said. Unfortunately, he said, most of the provisions included in the Universal Declaration have still not been met even after 60 years -- 830 million people still do not have enough food to eat, 1.1 billion lack access to clean water, 2.6 billion to basic sanitation, and 2.0 billion to essential drugs. General strike brings Greece to a halt as riots rage on (December 11 2008) http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/dec/11/greece
A general strike shut down schools, hospitals, flights and public services across Greece yesterday, touching off more riots that left dozens injured and the government severely shaken after five days of unprecedented civil unrest. Stone-throwing youths fought pitched battles with riot police outside the Athens parliament as thousands of striking workers, in a separate demonstration, chanted their way through the capital. Amid screams of "let parliament burn", protesters hurled petrol bombs, marble slabs and pieces of cement at police who responded by firing rounds of teargas into the air. The clashes, triggered by the police shooting of 15-year old Alexandros Grigoropoulos, are the worst disturbances to hit Greece since the end of military rule in 1974. Mobs have laid siege to cities nationwide plundering public buildings, stores and cars before setting fire to them. With the country shut down and Greece's links to the world cut as a result of the strike, the conservative administration - already clinging onto power by a single seat in the 300 member House - found itself facing a political crisis. Addressing the nation in a bid to contain the tensions, the prime minister, Costas Karamanlis, yesterday pledged financial support for those who had been materially affected and promised to protect individuals from further violence. But opposition over the free-market conservatives' fiscal policies and plans to privatise hospitals and schools is unlikely to fade soon. Support for the government, even from the most diehard conservatives, has dropped, with 70% telling pollsters they have mishandled the crisis. "These protests are our answer to a government that always closes the doors in our face," said student Yiannis Yiapitsakis. Symbolic of the fear and loathing gripping Greece is the makeshift shrine erected on the spot in Athens where Grigoropoulos was shot dead. In handwritten notes, cards, paintings and poems, Greeks of all ages not only honoured the young "martyr" but gave testimony to a country that appears to be on the verge of a nervous breakdown. "You have paid for what people like me who belong to the generation of 50-year-olds, know to be true," wrote one father in a note placed on top of a pile of roses, candles and plants. "That we are shaking with worry over the future of our children."Yesterday, according to a lawyer for the two police officers accused in the fatal shooting, a ballistic examination revealed that the schoolboy had died as a result of an accident after the bullet ricocheted.
Ghana Goes to the Polls: Showing Africa How Democracy http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1864675,00.html
Ghana's presidential candidates have wrapped up their campaigns ahead of a general election Sunday - but in a sense the most important result is already in. President John Kufuor, 69, is stepping down after two terms, peacefully and voluntarily. That in itself sets Ghana's election apart from recent polls in Zimbabwe, Kenya and Nigeria, which were plagued by corruption, violence, despotism and the steadfast refusal by the ruling party to let go. It is also a reminder that governance in sub-Saharan Africa, a region of 48 nations, cannot be characterized simply by the brutal repression doled out by Robert Mugabe and his ilk. CLIP
THE RACE FOR RATIFICATION OF LANDMARK CLUSTER BOMB BAN (9 December 2008) http://www.amnesty.org/en/news-and-updates/news/race-ratification-landmark-cluster-bomb-ban-20081209
At last week's signing of the Convention on Cluster Munitions - which bans the production, stockpiling, use and export of cluster bombs - four countries also ratified the agreement.Norway, Ireland, Sierra Leone and the Holy See signed and ratified the Convention at a conference in Oslo last week. The treaty cannot take effect until 30 countries have ratified. In total, 94 countries have now signed the Convention. They include three of the worst affected by the use of cluster bombs Afghanistan, Lebanon and Laos. "This historic ban will greatly reduce the devastating impact of cluster munitions on human rights, It is vital now that states ratify the convention so it can enter into force without delay, said Brian Wood, Amnesty International's arms control manager, Further signatories are expected in the coming months. Civil society campaigners predict that at least 100 states will eventually sign. Following the signing in Oslo, the treaty will now go to the United Nations in New York. The treaty, which was negotiated in Dublin in May 2008, requires states to provide adequate assistance to victims of cluster munitions and for states to destroy their stockpiles For more than 40 years, cluster bombs have killed and wounded innocent people, causing untold suffering, loss and hardship for thousands in more than 20 countries. These weapons cause death and injury to civilians during attacks and for years afterwards because of the lethal contamination that they cause when they fail to detonate on impact. CLIP

Last week, President-Elect Obama announced that upon taking office he will enact an immediate and sweeping economic stimulus plan that will create 2.5 million jobs in 2 years, many of which will be green jobs.Obama's new plan is beefed up in response to what he now calls "a crisis of historic proportions." In the weekly radio address, he said the economic stimulus:"will be a two-year, nationwide effort to jumpstart job creation in America and lay the foundation for a strong and growing economy. Well put people back to work rebuilding our crumbling roads and bridges, modernizing schools that are failing our children, and building wind farms and solar panels, fuel-efficient cars and the alternative energy technologies that can free us from our dependence on foreign oil and keep our economy competitive in the years ahead. On the campaign trail, Obama adopted the call of Green For All, the Apollo Alliance, and other groups, when he committed to creating 5 million green jobs as part of his energy platform. But this is the first time that he has indicated that green jobs would be central to his stimulus package, his top priority upon entering office. CLIP
Obama vows to end global warming 'denial' after Gore talks (Dec 9) http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20081209/sc_afp/uspoliticsobamagoreclimate
CHICAGO (AFP) President-elect Barack Obama said Tuesday his administration would brook no further delay in tackling climate change after discussing global warming with former vice president Al Gore.Sitting between Gore and his vice president-elect Joseph Biden following the hour-long meeting, Obama told reporters: "All three of us are in agreement that the time for delay is over. The time for denial is over."We all believe what the scientists have been telling us for years now, that this is a matter of urgency and national security, and it has to be dealt with in a serious way. That is what I intend my administration to do," he said. CLIP NOTE from Jean: Considering the years of foot-dragging of the Bush administration on the climate change issue, this looks like good news and may bode well for the international efforts underway to reduce CO2 emissions. But it needs to be acknowledged that despite the oft-repeated claim that there is a large scientific consensus supporting the view that climate change is solely or mostly man-made, it appears that this alleged consensus is being widely questioned by a growing number of scientists despite the risks that taking such a stand entail for their career. If you want to explore this controversy, I recommend you read The Debate Goes On and Over 650 Scientists Challenge Global Warming Consensus. On the other hand, the rapidly increasing acidification of the oceans because they absorb much of the man-made CO2 is a cause for great concern (see World's coral reefs degrading fast - and heavy losses feared if climate change is unchecked), not to mention the worldwide melting of mountain glaciers upon which billions of people depend for their survival, especially in India and China, and the related other global problems such as desertification, tropical deforestation and biodiversity loss, as well as the heavily polluted air in cities around the world resulting from our reliance on fossil fuels and causing an estimated 800,000 deaths each year, all point to the urgent need to quickly reduce our global environmental impact, something everyone should be able to agree on...
Obama's energy pick is big on alternative fuels (Dec. 11, 2008) http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28177027/
Getting energy from the sun in order to curb warming has been a focus -- WASHINGTON - Steven Chu, the Nobel Prize-winning physicist who is President-elect Barack Obama's choice for energy secretary, has been a vocal advocate for more research into alternative energy, arguing that a shift away from fossil fuels is essential to combat global warming.Chu, a Chinese-American who currently is director of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California, has in recent years campaigned to bring together a cross-section of scientific disciplines to find ways to counter climate change. If action is not taken now to stop global warming, it may be too late, he argues. (...) More recently, Chu's scientific interests have centered on energy and finding ways to replace fossil fuels with other energy sources such as biofuels from plants and converting energy from the sun into a fuel. He has spoken frequently about the need to link the physical and biological sciences with engineering to rally independent-thinking scientists in the fight against climate change. (...) Despite his broad scientific credentials, Chu has little experience inside Washington or in what occupies much of the Energy Department's business maintaining the nation's stockpile of nuclear weapons and weapons research. Nor has he had much involvement in nuclear energy. He has shown little support for building a nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain in Nevada, one of the major issues facing the department. Obama also has expressed dislike for the Yucca project.Chu as energy secretary would head a department with a $25 billion budget and 14,000 employees and more than 193,000 contract workers. Two-thirds of its budget involves activities related to nuclear weapons research and maintenance. CLIP
Calif. adopts sweeping global warming plan (Dec 11, 2008) http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28180839/
Backers predict energy savings, new jobs; critics worry about upfront cost -- SACRAMENTO, Calif. - California air regulators on Thursday approved a climate plan that would require the state's utilities, refineries and large factories to transform their operations to cut greenhouse gas emissions. The California Air Resources Board adopted what will be the nation's most sweeping global warming plan, outlining for the first time how individuals and businesses will have to meet a landmark 2006 law that made the state a leader on curbing warming emissions. California's worst polluters will be held accountable for the heat-trapping emissions they produce transforming how people travel, utilities generate power and businesses use electricity. (...) Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has said the state's climate law will stimulate the economy, said Thursday that California was providing a roadmap for the rest of the country."Today is the day we help unleash the full force of California's innovation and technology for a healthier planet, a stronger and more robust economy and a safer and more secure energy future," Schwarzenegger said in a statement released after the board's vote. His sentiments echo those of President-elect Barack Obama, who also has promoted investments in energy efficiency and green technology to help spur the country out of recession. Last month, Obama said he hoped Congress would adopt California's targets for the entire country, essentially reversing eight years of U.S. policy against mandated emission cuts.California's 2006 law, called the Global Warming Solutions Act, mandates the state cut emissions to 1990 levels by 2020.31 new rulesThe strategy chosen by air regulators relies on 31 new rules affecting all facets of life, from what fuels Californians put in their vehicles to what kind of air conditioners businesses put in their buildings. The average Californian, for example, can expect to pay to have his or her car tires inflated during oil changes and to pay higher power bills as utilities try to increase their use of renewable energy. He or she could also see more fuel-efficient cars at dealerships, better public transportation, new housing near schools and businesses, and utility rebates to equip homes to be more energy efficient. Climate treaty envoys break deadlock on forests (10 Dec 2008) http://www.cnbc.com/id/28159651
Activists hope native peoples will get a voice in managing where they live -- POZNAN, Poland - Negotiators broke an impasse Wednesday on including forest conservation in a new climate change agreement, proposing a voice for native peoples who live in forests and rewarding India and China for replanting depleted lands. Environmentalists said the compromise text, agreed in a committee at the U.N. climate talks, was an important step that cleared the way to discuss politically sensitive questions on how countries will be compensated for protecting their woodlands.Though activists said they were disappointed that four countries, including the United States, deleted any specific reference to the "rights" of indigenous people, the agreement recognizes, "the full and effective participation" of local communities. Activists hope the reference will give indigenous people a say in the way forests are managed. The draft text also made no mention of biodiversity, which could allow countries to uproot natural forests to plant palm oil or fruit plantations, said Nils Hermann Ranum, of Rainforest Foundation Norway. "More than 50 percent of the planet's species are found in tropical rain forests," he said, and may not fall under the protection of the climate agreement. CLIP
Italy and Poland Must Stop Playing Politics with Global Climate's Future - December 4, 2008 TAKE ACTION http://www.climateark.org/shared/alerts/send.aspx?id=europe_climate_obstruction
Their unwillingness at climate talks to bear the costs of reducing carbon, and ending their addiction to coal, will destroy the atmosphere, biosphere and all our futures. Some 11,000 climate delegates are meeting in Poland's western city of Poznan, seeking agreement upon new post-Kyoto climate goals, to be finalized in Copenhagen by the end of next year. Simultaneously, the European Union summit is attempting to reach consensus upon the so-called '20-20-20' proposals, which by 2020 seek a 20 percent cut in greenhouse gas (higher if others agree), a 20 percent cut in energy consumed and 20 percent use of renewable energy. Sadly, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk are actively seeking to weaken these modest and realistic medium-term goals, which can be built upon, on narrow economic self-interests. Without a deal at the Brussels summit, the European Union is unlikely to reach consensus prior to the Copenhagen conference. Italy and Poland must be called upon to end their parochial climate change obstructionism -- putting the interests of global citizenry and an operable biosphere, above continued cheap coal based electricity that is killing us all.
Climate change experts 'lose faith' in renewable technology (December 9 2008) http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2008/dec/09/poznan-climate-change-renewable-energy
Specialists less optimistic that wind, solar and hydro power have 'high potential' to solve climate crisis, survey shows -- Support for renewable energy technology to fight global warming is weakening in the face of worldwide economic problems and the true scale of the carbon reductions required, a survey published today has suggested. Figures presented at the UN climate talks in Poznan, Poland, show that climate experts have less faith in alternative energy than they did 12 months ago. The survey shows less support for wind energy, solar power, biofuels, biomass and hydrogen energy as technologies with "high potential" to reduce carbon levels in the atmosphere over the next 25 years. There was also less support for carbon capture and storage, new nuclear build, small-scale hydropower and natural gas stations as viable ways to hit targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Eric Whan of Globescan, which carried out the survey of "climate decision makers", said: "As the climate crisis deepens they could be becoming less optimistic that individual technologies may be able to solve the problem." The survey, supported by groups including the World Bank, the United Nations Environment Programme and the Pew Centre for Global Climate Change, questioned 1,000 senior figures across governments, pressure groups and companies in 115 countries over the last few weeks. Almost three-quarters of the experts agreed in the survey that "equitable economic growth and development and significant progress in combating climate change can be achieved at the same time". CLIP
Climate change summit in Poland may make no headway (11 Dec 2008) http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/India/Climate_change_summit_in_Poland_may_make_no_headway/articleshow/3819818.cms
POZNAN (POLAND): The classical have and have not divide is destined to turn the climate change summit here into a failure. Forget identifying the elements that would be negotiated in Copenhagen next winter, there is a strong possibility that rich industrialized countries or Annex 1 countries could even tinker with the set principals of UN's climate change convention. The leader of the Indian delegation, environment secretary Vijai Sharma, clearly said, "Any attempt to revisit principals would handicap negotiations. There should be absolutely no tinkering with convention principals, under which India is under no obligation to take any emission cuts." Without getting into the details, UNFCCC executive secretary Yvo De Boer also said that there is a very little chance of elaborate agreement even in Copenhagen. Delegates and NGOs have already started talking about life after Copenhagen and how there could be more meetings than scheduled to arrive at a consensus. Rich countries are speaking in different voices. While EU is a divided house, with Poland threatening to veto the EU plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 20% below 1990 levels by 2020 unless it gets fossil fuel concessions, US is in a disarray with Bush administration officials refusing to commit anything as no one from Obama's transition team has made it here. And then there are nagging problems. Adaptation Fund, to be used by the least developed countries to deal with effects of climate change, is stuck as G-77/China as well as a host of other countries not wanting World Bank to run this fund. In the past three days, World Bank has received widespread criticism, from NGOs as well as country delegates, for the manner in which it has handled the Adaptation Fund so far. There is a widespread demand that the fund be with UNFCCC. The Fund has only $50 million in it. But since the Bali declaration not a penny has been disbursed as World Bank wants to disburse money only through accredited national agencies, which many least developed countries do not have. CLIP
Climate talks to fail without tough CO2 goals: U.N. (Dec 9, 2008) http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20081209/ts_nm/us_climate
POZNAN, Poland (Reuters) The United States and other rich nations must pledge by the end of next year specific targets for cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 2020 to win agreement on a U.N. climate pact, the U.N.'s top climate official said on Tuesday. Some analysts say that President-elect Barack Obama may not be ready to set formal emissions targets for 2020 within a year, and that economic recession could delay an end-2009 deadline by 190 nations for agreement on a new U.N. global warming pact."We have to have numbers on the table from industrialized countries (by the end of 2009) otherwise the other dominoes won't fall," Yvo de Boer, head of the U.N. Climate Change Secretariat said during December 1-12 talks on global warming. Poor nations such as China and India would not sign up for more action to slow their rising emissions, mainly from burning fossil fuels, without leadership from the rich, he told a news conference during U.N. talks of 11,000 delegates in Poznan. (...) Obama said last month that he aims to cut U.S. emissions, running almost 17 percent above 1990 levels in 2007, back to 1990 levels by 2020 as part of a fight to avert more heatwaves, disease, water shortages and rising seas. But it is unclear if Obama would have to get the Senate's blessing before making a commitment as part of an international treaty. With the economic crisis, U.S. domestic climate laws are unlikely to be in place by late 2009, analysts say. Environmentalists in Poznan accused some rich nations -- including Japan and Canada -- of slamming on the brakes in their ambitions for emissions cuts by 2020. Backers of the Kyoto Protocol, which demands average cuts of 5 percent below 1990 levels by 2008-12, agreed in 2007 at least to consider cuts of 25 to 40 percent below 1990 levels by 2020 to avert the worst of climate change. In latest texts, a reference to "minus 25 to 40 percent" was in contention and might be dropped. "It's frankly outrageous," said Steven Guilbeault of Canadian environmental group Equiterre, accusing Canada, Japan, New Zealand and Australia of trying to cut out the reference. British charity Oxfam set up 10 life-sized human ice sculptures outside the conference center on Tuesday. "Rich countries need to take the lead before hope in saving the planet and its people melts away," said Aboubacar Traore, Oxfam's climate change campaigner in Mali.
End of oil could worsen warming, study finds (Dec. 10, 2008) http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28163684/
That'd happen if petroleum is replaced by coal, which has more carbon - As humanity wrings ever more fossil fuels from our planet, the question of when the taps will start to run dry when "peak oil" will occur looms ever closer on the horizon. Some say a decade, maybe two. Some say it's already passed. No one is sure. Whatever the answer, new research has come to the ominous conclusion that slackening oil and gas supplies could actually accelerate the pace of global warming. If it seems counter-intuitive, consider that generating a kilowatt hour of energy by burning oil pumps 274 grams of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Natural gas is cleaner, accounting for 202 grams. But coal is by far the worst polluter, clocking in at 331 grams of CO2 per kilowatt hour (a kilowatt hour is when 1000 watts of energy is used for one hour). CLIP
Greenhouse gas emissions increase in U.S. (Dec. 3, 2008) http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28039737/
After 2006 decline, there's a 1.4 percent rise because of cold winter - WASHINGTON - The amount of U.S. greenhouse gases flowing into the atmosphere, mainly carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels, increased last year by 1.4 percent after a decline in 2006, the Energy Department reported Wednesday. The report said carbon dioxide, the leading pollution linked to global warming, rose by 1.3 percent in 2007 as people used more coal, oil and natural gas because of a colder winter and more electricity during a warmer summer. Half of the country's electricity is generated by coal-burning power plants.A shortage of hydropower also contributed to an increase in the demand for fossil fuels, said the department's Energy Information Administration. The EIA said that in 2007 the United States produced 8 billion tons of greenhouse gases, compared to 7.9 billion in 2006. The tonnage, presented in terms of "carbon dioxide equivalent" also includes methane, nitrous oxides and a number of lesser greenhouse gases, although carbon dioxide accounted for nearly 83 percent of the releases.Increases seen worldwideDespite a growing concern about the accumulation of heat-trapping pollution that scientists say is changing the world's climate, the flow of greenhouse gases continue to increase not only in the United States, but worldwide. U.S. greenhouse gases have increased 16.7 percent since 1990, or an average of 0.9 percent a year, the EIA report. Carbon dioxide emissions have increased an average of 1.1 percent a year since 1990.Globally the increases have been even more dramatic, according to separate findings by scientists at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. They showed carbon dioxide output worldwide increased by 3 percent from 2006 to 2007 with a 7.5 percent increase in China, according to data released earlier this year. CLIP
Bad tidings (December 10 2008) http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2008/dec/10/vietnam-climate-change
Vietnam is the country most at risk from rising sea levels, according to a new study, as rich nations are being called on to bail out vulnerable populations -- Which country will be most affected by the steady rise of the seas? Which country could see more than a tenth of its population displaced, a tenth of its economic power crippled and a tenth of its towns and cities swamped by the end of this century? The answer, which may surprise you, is Vietnam, named by the World Bank as the nation with most to lose as global warming forces the oceans to reclaim the land. Just a one-metre rise in sea level would flood more than 7% of the country's agricultural land, and wreck nearly 30% of its wetlands, the bank says. And the situation could be worse than that: a one-metre rise in sea level is at the conservative end of the predictions for the year 2100. Some climate experts, including Jim Hansen, director of Nasa's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, argue that the likely rise should be measured in several metres. CLIP
Top 5 gift-giving trends http://www.canada.com/holiday-guide/gifts/story.html?id=1050322
If you're trying to get your Christmas shopping done and are at a loss for what to, here are some hot new ideas: 1. GO GREEN - With the environment at the top of everyone's mind, the green trend remains strong and it's not going away anytime soon. The holidays are no exception: eco gifts are all the rage this season. Clothes or bags made from re-purposed material, organic beauty products and even recycled gift wrapping will be under a lot of trees this year. CLIP
Eco-Buyer Beware: Green Can Be Deceiving (Sep. 11, 2008) http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1840562,00.html
Scot case was not happy. Vice president of the environmental marketing firm TerraChoice, Case last year sent his researchers into a big-box retail store to evaluate the green advertising claims of some of the products on its shelves. The results were startling: of the 1,018 products TerraChoice surveyed, all but one failed to live up fully to their green boasts. Words like nontoxic were used in meaninglessly vague ways. Terms like Energy Star certified were in fact not backed up by certification. "I went ballistic," Case says. "I assumed the researchers had butchered the study." He had his team redo the survey, but the results came back the same. "It just shows we're awash in greenwash. "Many consumers may not have heard the term greenwashing, but they've surely experienced it--misleading marketing about the environmental benefits of a product. Greenwashing isn't new--ever since the environment emerged as an issue in the early 1970s, there have been advertising firms trying to convince consumers that buying Brand X is the only way to save the earth. But as going green has become big business--sales of organic products alone went from $10 billion in 2003 to more than $20 billion in 2007--companies appear eager to associate themselves with the environment, deservedly or not. (...) The first step to cleaning up greenwashing is to identify it, and Tuerff and his partners have hit on an innovative way to spotlight particularly egregious examples. They've launched the Greenwashing Index www.greenwashingindex.com) a website that allows consumers to post ads that might be examples of greenwashing and rate them on a scale of 1 to 5--1 is a little green lie; 5 is an outright falsehood. It's a simple device, but it shows the power of the Internet to truth-squad misleading ads; with a simple Web search, any consumer can find out if a car manufacturer hyping its fuel-efficient hybrids actually earns the majority of its revenue selling gas-guzzling trucks and SUVs. "We try to make it a little more transparent with the index," says Kim Sheehan, a communications professor at the University of Oregon and a co-founder of the site. "It teaches people to be a little more cautious about the claims they hear."Googling isn't the only way to take out the greenwashing, however. The TerraChoice website www.terrachoice.com offers a list of what it calls the "six sins of greenwashing"--six simple signs that should tip off consumers to a company that is more interested in selling the earth than saving it. CLIP
Here is a good example of greenwashing http://www.youtube.com/v/3zZIoqeuJf4&rel=1
This is greenwashing at its most insidious. In the same way the climate sceptic lobby is trying to promote CO2 as a 'life enhancing' substance, palm oil manufacturers are trying to convince us that their product is sustainable and socially beneficial. There is little evidence that Malaysia practices sustainable agriculture. The comparison of Malaysia palm oil agriculture and rainforests is highly misleading. More on this through Palm oil industry relies on greenwashing to mislead consumers.

Secret Santas in 3 states spread cheer, $100 bills
By CHERYL WITTENAUER - Dec 5, 2008
ST. LOUIS - At a suburban Goodwill store on Friday, Theresa Settles selected a large, black comforter to warm her family until she can raise the money to turn the gas heat back on. A petite woman approached, her face obscured by dark sunglasses and a wrapped winter scarf, and handed Settles two $100 bills stamped with the words "secret Santa." "The only condition," she said, "is that you do something nice for someone. Pass it on."
"I will," Settles said, the only words she could get out of her mouth.
The secret Santa was a protege of Kansas City's undercover gift giver, Larry Stewart, who died of cancer nearly two years ago. Stewart roamed city streets each December doling out $100 bills to anyone who looked like they might need a lift.
Before his death in January 2007, Stewart told a friend how much he would miss his 26 years of anonymous streetside giving, during which he gave away about $1.3 million. Stewart, from the city suburb of Lee's Summit, made millions in cable television and long-distance telephone service.
The friend promised Stewart he would be a secret Santa the next year. "He squeezed my hand and that was it," said the Kansas City Santa, who would say only that he was an area businessman and investor. "I honored a promise."
Two secret Santas, one from the Kansas City area and the other from the St. Louis area, descended on thrift stores, a health clinic, convenience store and small auto repair shop to dole out $20,000 in $100 bills, hugs and words of encouragement to unsuspecting souls in need.
In this economy, they weren't hard to find.
Cynthia Brown, 40, was laid off three weeks ago from her food service job. Santa found her at the St. Louis County health clinic and gave her $100, exactly what she had asked to borrow from her mother a night ago to buy food.
"I have three daughters, and I can't get unemployment yet. I was down in food," she said.
Leotta Burbank, 50, of West Frankfurt, Ill., was at a thrift store Friday to buy decorations for her sister-in-law's room at a St. Louis hospice, where she is dying of pancreatic cancer.
When Santa gave her money, Burbank collapsed into his arms and wouldn't stop hugging him.
"God provides," she said. "This is real emotional for me."
For the secret Santas, it's not about keeping Stewart's memory alive as much as the meaning behind his legacy.
"It's not about the man, it's not about the money, it's about the message," the Kansas City Santa said. "Anyone can be a secret Santa with a kind word, gesture, a helping hand."
He said the money is given without judgment, but on the condition that the receiver pass along a kindness to someone else. Stewart began his holiday tradition at a restaurant in December 1979, after he had just been fired. He gave a waitress $20 and told her to keep the change and was struck by her gratitude.
Stewart also gave money to community causes in Kansas City and his hometown of Bruce, Miss.
The secret Santas want to expand their operation to every state, but so far only nine givers operate in Charlotte, N.C., Phoenix, St. Louis and Kansas City. They plan to start giving in Detroit this holiday season.
ESSENTIAL READING! Note from Jean: At first, this may seem like an abstruse subjectand in many ways it isas the author explains in simple terms the mind-boggling complexities and inherent unsustainability of the global money quasi pyramid schemes our civilization is based upon and which are now crumbling to dust as they must. Before we can realistically create a new gift-based economic system to replace our failing world economy, we need to understand just how crooked and terminally twisted the current system is and just how foolish are all those still worshiping at the altar of the money god. Then we can come to grasp how vital and urgent it is to shift from a false sense of separation from all to a deeply felt sense of Oneness with All That is.
Suppose you give me a million dollars with the instructions, "Invest this profitably, and I'll pay you well." I'm a sharp dresser -- why not? So I go out onto the street and hand out stacks of bills to random passers-by. Ten thousand dollars each. In return, each scribbles out an IOU for $20,000, payable in five years. I come back to you and say, "Look at these IOUs! I have generated a 20% annual return on your investment." You are very pleased, and pay me an enormous commission.
Now I've got a big stack of IOUs, so I use these "assets" as collateral to borrow even more money, which I lend out to even more people, or sell them to others like myself who do the same. I also buy insurance to cover me in case the borrowers default -- and I pay for it with those self-same IOUs! Round and round it goes, each new loan becoming somebody's asset on which to borrow yet more money. We all rake in huge commissions and bonuses, as the total face value of all the assets we've created from that initial million dollars is now fifty times that.
Then one day, the first batch of IOUs comes due. But guess what? The person who scribbled his name on the IOU can't pay me back right now. In fact, lots of the borrowers can't. I try to hush this embarrassing fact up as long as possible, but pretty soon you get suspicious. You want your million dollars back -- in cash. I try to sell the IOUs and their derivatives that I hold, but everyone else is suspicious too, and no one buys them. The insurance company tries to cover my losses, but it can only do so by selling the IOUs I gave it!
So finally, the government steps in and buys the IOUs, bails out the insurance company and everyone else holding the IOUs and the derivatives stacked on them. Their total value is way more than a million dollars now. I and my fellow entrepreneurs retire with our lucre. Everyone else pays for it.
This is the first level of what has happened in the financial industry over the past decade. It is a huge transfer of wealth to the financial elite, to be funded by US taxpayers, foreign corporations and governments, and ultimately the foreign workers who subsidize US debt indirectly via the lower purchasing power of their wages. However, to see the current crisis as merely the result of a big con is to miss its true significance.
I think we all sense that we are nearing the end of an era. On the most superficial level, it is the era of unregulated casino-style financial manipulation that is ending. But the current efforts of the political elites to fix the crisis at this level will only reveal its deeper dimensions. In fact, the crisis goes "all the way to the bottom." It arises from the very nature of money and property in the world today, and it will persist and continue to intensify until money itself is transformed. A process centuries in the making is in its final stages of unfoldment.
Money as we know it today has crisis and collapse built into its basic design. That is because money seeks interest, bears interest, and indeed is born of interest. To see how this works, let's go back to some finance basics. Money is created when somebody takes out a loan from a bank (or more recently, a disguised loan from some other kind of institution). A debt is a promise to pay money in the future in order to buy something today; in other words, borrowing money is a form of delayed trading. I receive something now (bought with the money I borrowed) and agree to give something in the future (a good or service which I will sell for the money to pay back the debt). A bank or any other lender will ordinarily only agree to lend you money if there is a reasonable expectation you will pay it back; in other words, if there is a reasonable expectation you will produce goods or services of equivalent value. This "reasonable expectation" can be guaranteed in the form of collateral, or it can be encoded in one's credit rating.
Any time you use money, you are essentially guaranteeing "I have performed a service or provided a good of equivalent value to the one I am buying." If the money is borrowed money, you are saying that you will provide an equivalent good/service in the future.
Now enter interest. What motivates a bank to lend anyone money in the first place? It is interest. Interest drives the creation of money today. Any time money is created through debt, a need to create even more money in the future is also created. The amount of money must grow over time, which means that the volume of goods and services must grow over time as well.
If the volume of money grows faster than the volume of goods and services, the result is inflation. If it grows more slowly -- for example through a slowdown in lending -- the result is bankruptcies, recession, or deflation. The government can increase or decrease the supply of money in several ways. First, it can create money by borrowing it from the central bank, or in America, from the Federal Reserve. This money ends up as bank deposits, which in turn give banks more margin reserves on which to extend loans. You see, a bank's capacity to create money is limited by margin reserve requirements. Typically, a bank must hold cash (or central bank deposits) equal to about 10% of its total customer deposits. The other 90%, it can loan out, thus creating new money. This money ends up back in a bank as deposits, allowing another 81% of it (90% of 90%) to be lent out again. In this way, each dollar of initial deposits ends up as $9 of new money. Government spending of money borrowed from the central bank acts as seed for new money creation. (Of course, this depends on banks' willingness to lend! In a credit freeze such as happened this week, banks hoard excess reserves and the repeated injections of government money have little effect.)
Another way to increase the money supply is to lower margin reserve requirements. In practice this is rarely done, at least directly. However, in the last decade, various kinds of non-bank lending have skirted the margin reserve requirement, through the alphabet soup of financial instruments you've been hearing about in the news. The result is that each dollar of original equity has been leveraged not to nine times it original value, as in traditional banking, but to 70 times or even more. This has allowed returns on investment far beyond the 5% or so available from traditional banking, along with "compensation" packages beyond the dreams of avarice.
Each new dollar that is created comes with a new dollar of debt -- more than a dollar of debt, because of interest. The debt is eventually redeemed either with goods and services, or with more borrowed money, which in turn can be redeemed with yet more borrowed money... but eventually it will be used to buy goods and services. The interest has to come from somewhere. Borrowing more money to make the interest payments on an existing loan merely postpones the day of reckoning by deferring the need to create new goods and services.
The whole system of interest-bearing money works fine as long as the volume of goods and services exchanged for money keeps growing. The crisis we are seeing today is in part because new money has been created much faster than goods and services have, and much faster than has been historically sustainable. There are only two ways out of such a situation: inflation and bankruptcies. Each involve the destruction of money. The current convulsions of the financial and political elites basically come down to a futile attempt to prevent both. Their first concern is to prevent the evaporation of money through massive bankruptcies, because it is, after all, their money.
There is a much deeper crisis at work as well, a crisis in the creation of goods and services that underlies money to begin with, and it is this crisis that gave birth to the real estate bubble everyone blames for the current situation. To understand it, let's get clear on what constitutes a "good" or a "service." In economics, these terms refer to something that is exchanged for money. If I babysit your children for free, economists don't count it as a service. It cannot be used to pay a financial debt: I cannot go to the supermarket and say, "I watched my neighbor's kids this morning, so please give me food." But if I open a day care center and charge you money, I have created a "service." GDP rises and, according to economists, society has become wealthier.
The same is true if I cut down a forest and sell the timber. While it is still standing and inaccessible, it is not a good. It only becomes "good" when I build a logging road, hire labor, cut it down, and transport it to a buyer. I convert a forest to timber, a commodity, and GDP goes up. Similarly, if I create a new song and share it for free, GDP does not go up and society is not considered wealthier, but if I copyright it and sell it, it becomes a good. Or I can find a traditional society that uses herbs and shamanic techniques for healing, destroy their culture and make them dependent on pharmaceutical medicine which they must purchase, evict them from their land so they cannot be subsistence farmers and must buy food, clear the land and hire them on a banana plantation -- and I have made the world richer. I have brought various functions, relationships, and natural resources into the realm of money. In The Ascent of Humanity I describe this process in depth: the conversion of social capital, natural capital, cultural capital, and spiritual capital into money.
Essentially, for the economy to continue growing and for the (interest-based) money system to remain viable, more and more of nature and human relationship must be monetized. For example, thirty years ago most meals were prepared at home; today some two-thirds are prepared outside, in restaurants or supermarket delis. A once unpaid function, cooking, has become a "service". And we are the richer for it. Right?
Another major engine of economic growth over the last three decades, child care, has also made us richer. We are now relieved of the burden of caring for our own children. We pay experts instead, who can do it much more efficiently.
In ancient times entertainment was also a free, participatory function. Everyone played an instrument, sang, participated in drama. Even 75 years ago in America, every small town had its own marching band and baseball team. Now we pay for those services. The economy has grown. Hooray.
The crisis we are facing today arises from the fact that there is almost no more social, cultural, natural, and spiritual capital left to convert into money. Centuries, millennia of near-continuous money creation has left us so destitute that we have nothing left to sell. Our forests are damaged beyond repair, our soil depleted and washed into the sea, our fisheries fished out, the rejuvenating capacity of the earth to recycle our waste saturated. Our cultural treasury of songs and stories, images and icons, has been looted and copyrighted. Any clever phrase you can think of is already a trademarked slogan. Our very human relationships and abilities have been taken away from us and sold back, so that we are now dependent on strangers, and therefore on money, for things few humans ever paid for until recently: food, shelter, clothing, entertainment, child care, cooking. Life itself has become a consumer item. Today we sell away the last vestiges of our divine bequeathment: our health, the biosphere and genome, even our own minds. This is the process that is culminating in our age. It is almost complete, especially in America and the "developed" world. In the developing world there still remain people who live substantially in gift cultures, where natural and social wealth is not yet the subject of property. Globalization is the process of stripping away these assets, to feed the money machine's insatiable, existential need to grow. Yet this stripmining of other lands is running up against its limits too, both because there is almost nothing left to take, and because of growing pockets of effective resistance.
The result is that the supply of money -- and the corresponding volume of debt -- has for several decades outstripped the production of goods and services that it promises. It is deeply related to the classic problem of oversupply in capitalist economics. The Marxian crisis of capital can be deferred into the future as long as new, high-profit industries and markets can be developed to compensate for the vicious circle of falling profits, falling wages, depressed consumption, and overproduction in mature industries. The continuation of capitalism as we know it depends on an infinite supply of these new industries, which essentially must convert infinite new realms of social, natural, cultural, and spiritual capital into money. The problem is, these resources are finite, and the closer they come to exhaustion, the more painful their extraction becomes. Therefore, contemporaneous with the financial crisis we have an ecological crisis and a health crisis. They are intimately interlinked. We cannot convert much more of the earth into money, or much more of our health into money, before the basis of life itself is threatened.
Faced with the exhaustion of the non-monetized commonwealth that it consumes, financial capital has tried to delay the inevitable by cannibalizing itself. The dot-com bubble of the late 90s showed that the productive economy could not longer keep up with the growth of money. Lots of excess money was running around frantically, searching for a place where the promise of deferred goods and services could be redeemed. So, to postpone the inevitable crash, the Fed slashed interest rates and loosened monetary policy to allow old debts to be repaid with new debts (rather than real goods and services). The new financial goods and services that arose were phony, artifacts of deceptive accounting on a vast, systemic scale.
Obviously, the practice of borrowing new money to pay the principal and interest of old debts cannot last very long, but that is what the economy as a whole has done for ten years now. Unfortunately, simply stopping this practice isn't going to solve the underlying problem. A collapse is coming, unavoidably. The government's bailout plan will at best postpone it for a year or two (who knows, maybe until 2012!), long enough for the big players to move their money to a safe haven. They will discover, though, that there is no safe haven. As the US dollar loses its safe-haven status (which will happen all the more certainly when the government takes over Wall Street's bad debts), you can expect capital to chase various commodities in an inflationary surge before a deflationary depression takes hold. If a credit freeze overpowers the government's inflationary measures, depression will come all the sooner.
The present crisis is actually the final stage of what began in the 1930s. Successive solutions to the fundamental problem of keeping pace with money that expands with the rate of interest have been applied, and exhausted. The first effective solution was war, a state which has been permanent since 1940. Nuclear weapons and a shift in human consciousness have limited the solution of endless military escalation. Other solutions -- globalization, technology-enabled development of new goods and services to replace human functions never before commoditized, and technology-enabled plunder of natural resources once off limits, and finally financial auto-cannibalism -- have similarly run their course. Unless there are realms of wealth I have not considered, and new depths of poverty, misery, and alienation to which we might plunge, the inevitable cannot be delayed much longer.
In the face of the impending crisis, people often ask what they can do to protect themselves. "Buy gold? Stockpile canned goods? Build a fortified compound in a remote area? What should I do?" I would like to suggest a different kind of question: "What is the most beautiful thing I can do?" You see, the gathering crisis presents a tremendous opportunity. Deflation, the destruction of money, is only a categorical evil if the creation of money is a categorical good. However, you can see from the examples I have given that the creation of money has in many ways impoverished us all. Conversely, the destruction of money has the potential to enrich us. It offers the opportunity to reclaim parts of the lost commonwealth from the realm of money and property.
We actually see this happening every time there is an economic recession. People can no longer pay for various goods and services, and so have to rely on friends and neighbors instead. Where there is no money to facilitate transactions, gift economies reemerge and new kinds of money are created. Ordinarily, though, people and institutions fight tooth and nail to prevent that from happening. The habitual first response to economic crisis is to make and keep more money -- to accelerate the conversion of anything you can into money. On a systemic level, the debt surge is generating enormous pressure to extend the commodification of the commonwealth. We can see this happening with the calls to drill for oil in Alaska, commence deep-sea drilling, and so on. The time is here, though, for the reverse process to begin in earnest -- to remove things from the realm of goods and services, and return them to the realm of gifts, reciprocity, self-sufficiency, and community sharing. Note well: this is going to happen anyway in the wake of a currency collapse, as people lose their jobs or become too poor to buy things. People will help each other and real communities will reemerge.
In the meantime, anything we do to protect some natural or social resource from conversion into money will both hasten the collapse and mitigate its severity. Any forest you save from development, any road you stop, any cooperative playgroup you establish; anyone you teach to heal themselves, or to build their own house, cook their own food, make their own clothes; any wealth you create or add to the public domain; anything you render off-limits to the world-devouring machine, will help shorten the Machine's lifespan. Think of it this way: if you already do not depend on money for some portion of life's necessities and pleasures, then the collapse of money will pose much less of a harsh transition for you. The same applies to the social level. Any network or community or social institution that is not a vehicle for the conversion of life into money will sustain and enrich life after money.
In previous essays I have described alternative money systems, based on mutual credit and demurrage, that do not drive the conversion of all that is good, true, and beautiful into money. These enact a fundamentally different human identity, a fundamentally different sense of self, from what dominates today. No more will it be true that more for me is less for you. On a personal level, the deepest possible revolution we can enact is a revolution in our sense of self, in our identity. The discrete and separate self of Descartes and Adam Smith has run its course and is becoming obsolete. We are realizing our own inseparateness, from each other and from the totality of all life. Interest denies this union, for it seeks growth of the separate self and the expense of something external, something other. Probably everyone reading this essay agrees with the principles of interconnectedness, whether from a Buddhistic or an ecological perspective. The time has come to live it. It is time to enter the spirit of the gift, which embodies the felt understanding of non-separation. It is becoming abundantly obvious that less for you (in all its dimensions) is also less for me. The ideology of perpetual gain has brought us to a state of poverty so destitute that we are gasping for air. That ideology, and the civilization built upon it, is what is collapsing today.
Individually and collectively, anything we do to resist or postpone the collapse will only make it worse. The gifts you need to survive and enjoy will come to you easily, because what you do to the world, you do to yourself.
Beyond the Bailout: Agenda for a New Economy by David Korten http://www.yesmagazine.org/article.asp?ID=3050
The financial crisis has put to rest the myths that our economic institutions are sound and markets work best when deregulated. Our economic institutions have failed, not only financially, but also socially and environmentally. This, combined with the election of a new president with a mandate for change, creates an opportune moment to rethink and redesign.President-elect Obama has promised to grow the economy from the bottom up. That would be a substantial improvement over growing the top at the expense of the bottom. The real need, however, is a bottom-up transformation of our economic values and institutions to align with the imperatives and opportunities of the 21st century. It involves a five part agenda: clean up Wall Street, play by market rules, self-finance the real economy, measure what we really want, and convert to debt-free money. (...) This would be a good time to start evaluating economic performance against indicators of what we really wanthealthy children, families, communities, and natural systems. (...) This is an opportune moment to move forward an agenda to replace the failed money-serving institutions of our present economy with the institutions of a new economy dedicated to serving life. The idea that we humans might put life ahead of money may seem unrealistic and contrary to our human nature. Surely, that is what our prevailing cultural story would have us believe. That story, however, has no more validity than the story that Wall Street speculation serves a higher public purpose. As I noted in my article We are Hard-Wired to Care and Connect in the Fall 2008 issue of YES!, scientists have found that the human brain is hard-wired for compassion and connection. My many years living abroad in Africa, Latin America, and Asia taught me that people of every race, religion, and nationality the world over share a dream of a world of happy, healthy children, families, and communities living in vibrant, healthy, natural environments. When they see an opportunity, people are willing to make extraordinary investments of their life energy in an effort to actualize this dream, as regularly documented in the pages of YES! Liberated from the predatory grip of Wall Street, this long-suppressed energy has the potential to transform our relationships with one another and Earth, and to realize our shared dream of a world that works for all.
Milwaukee neighborhoods could print own money (December 3, 2008) http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/chi-talk_moneydec03%2C0%2C2902061.story
2 neighborhoods consider printing own currency for exclusive use in local stores -- They may be talking funny money, but it's not funny business. Residents from the Milwaukee neighborhoods of Riverwest and East Side are scheduled to meet Wednesday to discuss printing their own money. The idea is that the local cash could be used at neighborhood stores and businesses, thus encouraging local spending. The result, supporters hope, would be a bustling local economy, even as the rest of the nation deals with a recession. "You have all these people who have local currency, and they're going to spend it at local stores," said Sura Faraj, a community organizer who is helping spearhead the plan. "They can't spend it at the Wal-Mart or the Home Depot, but they can spend it at their local hardware store or their local grocery store."Incentives could be used to entice consumers into using the new money. For example, perhaps they could trade $100 U.S. for $110 local, essentially netting them a 10 percent discount at participating stores. It's not a new conceptexperts estimate there are at least 2,000 local currencies all over the worldbut it is a practice that tends to burgeon during economic downturns. During the Great Depression, scores of communities relied on their own currencies. And it's completely legal. As long as communities don't create coins, or print bills that resemble federal dollars, organizations are free to produce their own greenbacksand they'd don't even have to be green.
Slow Burn! http://solari.com/blog/?p=818
People often ask whether I am concerned about inflation, deflation, peak oil, or a global financial meltdown. My answer is as follows. The future is something to be created, rather than feared. Allocating our time, networks, and resources to deal with a variety of high-risk scenarios frees us to become proactive and to build positive futures instead of negative ones. I like to understand what these scenarios mean in terms of managing risk and to know how we can succeed within all possible futures. But my business is investment, not prophecy. The risk scenario I weight most heavily is not listed above. I call it the Slow Burn. The slow burn is a political culture and economy managed through principles of economic warfare in which insiders systematically protect themselves and centralize control and ownership of resources by using: - Central banks - Currency and lending systems - Taxation - Regulatory and enforcement policies - Controlled media and entertainment. Insiders use these means to drain the time, resources, and life of people on the outside. Although insider cartels compete and jockey for power, they are able to settle their squabbles by increasing control and draining everyone and everything else. This is why the bubble economy continues to deplete the real economy. It is likely the reason why Dick Cheney said, Deficits dont matter. In a slow burn scenario, it is possible to prop up trillions of dollars in financial asset values by systematically arranging subsidies that ultimately liquidate life.
Note from Jean: I just love what Dana Mrkich (an ERN subscriber since 2005) wrote to introduce herself on her website...
It is time to create a new global vision for Earth and humanity
I feel many of us are here at this time to assist our world's transition into one based on a higher consciousness and understanding, greater truth, justice and balance, with increasing numbers of people awakening to their personal and the collective greater reality.
It is time to merge our highest ideals into all arenas including social action, political movements, the media, education and health, creating new systems and more enlightened forms of all organizations. It is through these avenues that we can actually bring about positive change, to bring our greatest visions into actual physical reality.
We are in rapidly changing times as we move toward the end of a great evolutionary cycle. According to the Mayan Calendar this cycle ends on December 21 2012, prophesising not the end of time, only the end of time as we know it.
The Mayans foresee our return to a more natural state of being. We are now in a profound process of awakening as we prepare for this new cycle. The planet, all people and all things are now in a state of transformation as we enter a new 'time' where harmony, unity, love and one-ness are the foundation stones of a New Earth.
It is time now to lead ourselves and our planet back into a state of balance. It is time to remember who you really are. You already have all that you need inside you to do what you came here to do. You already are inside you that which you came here to be. Listen to your self and you will be guided in every moment to your right path and right action.
May our journeys forward be filled with experiences that open and expand our hearts, may our souls be uplifted as we embrace more of our wholeness, and may humanity's consciousness rise gently as we uncover more of the truth.
In Lak'ech and Blessings,
Dana Mrkich - Author A New Chapter - also sent me this comment on Dec 10:
"Thank you so much for including a quote from my book in your recent compilation. I really appreciate it. I so love and believe in what you do, I think that information leads to empowerment and from there people can make their own decisions and thats how this planet will shift. I know that, like myself, your work is what you are called to do, and sometimes there is more love and appreciation flowing in than income. But I have also been shown time and time again that the universe is always supporting us in so many ways, constantly. My way of supporting your work has been that for a few years I have had a links page on my home page to news that inspires, informs and empowers and have included yours there probably since I first started receiving ERN. http://www.danamrkich.com/productions/gyi/index.html - I feel its important to have sources that can direct people in a good way to good information, and so thank you for the work that you do that is such a great source. Have a wonderful festive season and hold on to your hat for the wonderful amazing ride that will be 2009!"

Date: 08 Dec 2008
Diana just dropped in - it has been several months since she did so - with a rather timely message, which is self-explanatory. I shall be more than grateful if you will share it with your readers. . .
During the last two years I have been dropping in on you more often than you could possibly imagine. I have also, as you know, been appearing next to you or near you every day, when you play Patience. As you have rightly sensed, I am as eager and impatient as you are to get this show on the road.
Youll remember that during the summer I asked you and Tony to go into Regents Park, where I showed him that the moment we are all longing for and preparing for will be triggered down there on Earth, not up here: You must make the first move - because that is the Law.
We cannot intercede or interfere, but we can reply, if called by enough people. So why dont you ask Jean to invite all the readers of the Earth Rainbow Network - and all their friends and correspondents - to put out the call.
I cannot tell you what to say - that must come from you. But I have no doubt whatsoever that whatever you do say, and whatever you ask - if it is said with enough power and clarity - will have the desired effect.
May I wish everyone a Happy Christmas and a truly memorable New Year - for all the reasons that we have in our minds, in our hearts and in our prayers.
Love and a big hug from
I think that what we transmit should take the form of a simple invocation or prayer. Possibly something as simple as:
We ask you to show us once and for all that we are not alone. . .
We ask you to show us that death is only the end of a chapter in our lives, and that life continues. . .
We ask you to show us that no-one is ever lost. . .
We ask you to show us that we will have every opportunity to correct our mistakes, and to enjoy new adventures and new experiences. . .
We ask you to confirm that the next chapter in the story of mankind will be far less suffused with pain, tragedy, cruelty and injustice than the chapter that is now ending. . .
We sense that what we are invoking is nothing less than redemption for all of Creation - not only throughout the physical Universe but also throughout such higher worlds as have yet to attain perfection. . .
We thank you, knowing and trusting that everything we ask - and much more that we have been unable to imagine or comprehend - will be granted. December , 2008

Let's Make the Shift Happen Before the Sh*t Hits the Fan!
Message from Rick Ulfik, Founder and Director of We, The World
I'm on a mission. And I hope you will join me on this mission.
With We, The World's partners and volunteers I'm working to implement a full blown collaborative public education and mobilization program to shift the cultural and political landscape - especially in the most powerful societies in the world.
It is my belief that until we have such a program, we will continue to suffer through crises like the current economic meltdown, because it is highly unlikely that the shift to sustainable policies, priorities and consciousness will be led by the power brokers in politics, finance, big business or the media. The desired shift will undoubtedly come from "below" as it always has (through grassroots awareness-raising and organizing)
There is reason to believe that until we establish a mass public education and mobilization program, the financial turmoil we are seeing will be followed by even more catastrophic occurrences than already exist in the world as a result of Global Climate Change, the Mass Extinction of Species (as many as 70-100 per day), Militarism (Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia, terrorism, etc.), Poverty (more food riots and worse), Oil Shortages, Water Shortages, Agricultural Contamination and on and on.
These and other interconnected crises are perpetuated not just by those who derive the most money and power from the dominant economic, political and social systems, but also by the rest of us who (often unwittingly) fuel these systems by our consumer choices, our energy choices, our voting, media, job, investment and cultural choices. If a significant part of the public were to shift these choices, we could have real change.
The Challenge and the Opportunity
Potentially, the public has massive power to make change. But the $64 Trillion questions are:
- Can that tremendous power of the people be organized to generate the kind of political, economic and social will needed for significant and lasting change? and,
- Can that change take place soon enough? that is, before certain catastrophic environmental effects become irreversible (within 5 years by some estimates) or before some military or terrorist incident takes place that gives those in high places the excuse to take even more of a reactionary power grab than after 9/11 (which would again severely hamper work and drain resources to end climate change, poverty, etc.).
The answers to both, thankfully, are YES - with your involvement now. Here's how.
Making the Shift Happen Before the Sh*t Hits the Fan - within 2 years!
After a 15 year study, social researcher Paul Ray now estimates that there are 50-60 million people in the USA and 80-90 million in Western Europe who are what he calls Cultural Creatives. They share values that include: a love and concern for nature and the environment, social justice, peace, women's issues, holistic health and spirituality, social responsibility, concern for elders/indigenous peoples, altruism and linking the personal and the global.
Paul's research also revealed that these Cultural Creatives often keep their values to themselves, assuming that they are "different" from most others at work, etc. And they certainly don't realize that 25-30% of the adult population shares their values!
Paul Ray joined We, The World's Advisory Board because he was excited about our potential to make the Cultural Creatives visible to each other so they could begin to act collectively! It is now more important than ever to realize this potential.
We, The World has already begun engaging, connecting and informing the Cultural Creatives (see Highlights and Successes). Fully implemented, our program of mass public education and mobilization will have these components:
- Communication and Coordination between existing major networks, global organizations, the green business community and smaller groups around the world.
- Large-scale Public International Action Campaign Events every 3 months that engage, inform and involve a global audience, promoting specific theme-oriented awareness and action campaigns.
Imagine (as an example) MoveOn, Greenpeace and Amnesty International coordinating their action campaigns with dozens of other global organizations, 1000s of smaller groups and millions of people around the world, shifting societal consciousness and creating political will - every 3 months.
- Take an active role in one or more of our projects (see below)
- Make a personal or company financial investment commensurate with the impact you'd like to have
- Bring others to the table
If you are inspired by what we're doing, please forward this to your friends, colleagues, and the "right" people who can make a major contribution to move humanity off the path of catastrophe for a peaceful, sustainable world. And of course, your financial support at your highest joyful level is crucial! Go to www.WeTheWorld.org/donate or send a check payable to We, The World in US currency to the address at the top.
World Servers/World Savers Circle
Our World Servers/World Savers Circle includes people who feel that "to be a stakeholder in We, The World is to be a stakeholder in the future of humanity." World Servers Circle members contribute $1000 or more during the year. Would you like to be part of this Circle?
Who do you know who would like to turn their financial success into a legacy of global transformation by investing in a Livable Future? Click here to see how one million dollars could change the world - within 2 years.
For every $1,000 you invest in WTW we are able to impact the lives of 10,000 or more people with programs that inspire, inform and galvanize people to take action! How many people would you like to impact?
We've already directly impacted the lives of well over 2 million people. We've not only changed people's lives, we've actually saved people's lives!
We are seeking seed funding of at least $75,000 now to continue our work and to grow our Tipping Point Initiatives (see below) for a launch of the Public International Action Campaign Event series in 2009.
These Tipping Point Initiatives include expanding the organizing model established by 11 Days of Global Unity to Large-scale Public International Action & Awareness Campaign Events every 3 months. Taken together, the Initiatives form a coordinated solution-oriented program of mass public education and mobilization that includes film, TV, and internet media production and distribution.
With your involvement and support, our collaborative strategy can not only result in political will (and consumer will) but will also accelerate the cultural shift away from what We, The World Advisory Board member Riane Eisler calls Domination Culture (and it's impending collapse) and toward Partnership Culture.
Thank you so much for helping to create a better world!

On October 15th, 2007, a major portal opened in southern Iraq, and four probable worlds emerged into the field of potential in our time reference. We have reached the Deciding Point that I predicted nearly two years ago when I first started blogging. This portal is the main reason why the Iraq war was started, to program this portal region with conflict and despair, and to keep those who carry the frequency of Light out.
The frequency of the longer cycles of time and creation run through this portal, and as long as we accept conflict and fear as our reality in this region, we will enter a timeline where conflict and fear will reign. Among the four probable worlds, three are those where we have been led astray and have missed our chance to enter the upward spiral of conscious evolution, and one holds the Promised Age of Peace.
Iraq is literally the Holy Land, central to many of the Biblical stories so many of us were raised with. It is no wonder that the culture of the West is so connected to the Middle East through religion, because this is where we must go to build the Bridge of Peace and restore faith in human unity. The Prophets came to us through these portals for a reason, because this is where the war over the future would be fought, and where the Kingdom of Heaven would be won through compassion and kindness. It is through the Iraq portal that we must align with the Gift of Peace, surrender to the calling of our future, and do what we are called to do to heal the heart of this region.
We are one month into the window of decision that may last for some years. What we choose during this time will determine what world we enter. It does not matter what others are choosing. We each have the power to enter the world where humanity has chosen peace, and yet this is also the timeline where we surrendered to Spirit and answered the calling of planetary service in ways that challenged us to transcend fear
and act courageously. This is not a time to wait and see what happens.
Now is the time to seek the code of how we entered the timeline of the Promised Age. This code is being beamed back to us from the collective future through the Iraq portal as an instruction to those who hold the potential to shift the frequency of the timeline. Our future selves are speaking to us from the light of the infinite future, and the angels are here to guide and protect us on our journey to shift the timeline.
Many will be called to hold the light in this region as we align with the timefield of the Promised Age. We must face the fact that this war has no political, economic or military solution. Einstein said that we cannot solve the world's problems from the same level of thinking that they were created. The solution to end the Iraq war will come as an uprising of compassion from those who have for those who have not. Compassion has the courage to act.
One week ago, while pondering the thought of transmitting these new messages, I felt fear about drawing the psychic attention of those beings that manage this portal, and then realized that I had to transcend this fear before moving forward. This is an old fear that dates back to the time when the Keepers of Light were attacked and lost control of this portal to beings of conflict and fear.
I decided to take a journey into the portal to face my fears and establish a stronger link with the frequency of the Promised Age, to support these new messages. This seemed like a necessary step to clear the path for others who would connect with this portal through this information. The energy of this portal is so powerful that it was easy to find it and approach it in my consciousness. Upon entering the portal, I had to face the frequency of the other three worlds.
My awareness split into the timefields that are present, and I found myself experiencing a different version of myself in each of the three worlds of fear. These are worlds where humanity has been enslaved by darkness. In one world, the United States had been attacked by foreign powers and was divided into territories. In another, the United States had formed into a state of totalitarian control, where people were being taken away to concentration camps.
In each of these worlds, humanity loses its sovereignty to ET agendas because we were too busy fighting our perceived enemies to notice that we were becoming captive to off-planet systems of control. Attempts are being made to keep us in conflict and fear long enough to put in place a system of control that will trap our frequency on a timeline of fear where we will lose our status as keepers of this world.
These three timefields were formed on the frequency of human fear, but only had power because of our fears. During the course of one night I was able to embrace each part of myself in these worlds, and to clear the fear of them, calling all of my personal energy back into alignment with the calling of the Promised Age. The final step to clearing the path to the Promised Age came through aligning with the Divine Feminine. By aligning my masculine to the Divine Feminine in the portal, and holding space for her energy to ground, the Hologram of Love and Divine Union became my world.
After this shift, the other worlds seemed like the ghost of an image compared to the glory of our unification in the Promised Age. They were like doorways that I had looked into as I was passing by on the way to the doorway to humanitys infinite future as Love.
The timefields of the other three worlds seemed more like a scare tactic to prevent us from approaching the portal and entering into the world of our choosing. There are forces who want to prevent us from knowing that we have a choice. My mission is to help make our choices clear, and to choose fearlessly the path that is our destiny.
Ask the angels to align you with the code of how we entered the timeline of the Promised Age of Peace, and open your hearts to the guidance. The doorway is now open, and the path is clear. The angels will guide us through. The Hologram of Love and Divine Union is opening within the timefields, and as more people align, this frequency will eclipse the frequency of fear on our timeline for all beings. Our victory is assured!
With more and more people talking about collective consciousness, it seems natural to wonder, Is there any scientific research to back it up? The answer, increasingly, appears to be "yes." In fact, a growing body of recent research suggests not only that a field of awareness and intelligence exists between human beings but also that through it we influence each other in powerful ways.
Just as Gene Roddenberry imagined a future in which Star Trek's Spock could "mind meld" with others, more of us are now becoming aware of our remarkable capacity to intuit each other's thoughts and emotions, as well as to consciously think and create together without communicating through the five senses. Collective consciousness becomes most apparent in our ability to intuitively sense and work with the interactions between our and others' physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual "energy fields." Although science has long been convinced of the existence of gravitational, electric, and magnetic fields, significant research in the frontier science known as parapsychology, or the study of psychic ("psi") phenomena, indicates that other types of fieldsincluding thought fieldsmay also exist.
A fundamental psi phenomenon is extrasensory perception or influence, perhaps made possible by the apparent ability of consciousness to operate beyond the constraints of space and time. Examples include telepathy and remote viewing. The existence of psi (or tele-prehension, as Ken Wilber calls it) has been convincingly demonstrated in numerous scientific studies carried out by Marilyn Schlitz, Dean Radin, and others. In typical remote viewing experiments, for example, one individual is sent to a distant, undisclosed location while another individual, who remains in the lab, attempts to "remotely view" and describe that distant location in detail. Across a large number of experiments, remote viewers have been able to describe another's surroundings with a statistically significant degree of accuracy. Intriguingly, pairs who had an emotional bond have obtained the strongest results. These findings suggest that groups whose members build a sense of connection and trust with each other may have an increased capacity to access and understand each other's perspectives, to "see through each other's eyes."
Biologist Rupert Sheldrake and others have conducted several ingenious experiments that show how widespread psi abilities areeven in animals. Using synchronized video cameras placed in the homes and workplaces of dog owners, he has proven that dogs go to wait at the front doors of their homes at the precise moment their owners decide to return home from work, even when those times are varied daily. Sheldrake, Radin, and others have conducted numerous telepathy experiments on human beings as well, demonstrating that people can sense the thoughts and intentions of others across space and time. This research includes studies on a common experience called "the sense of being stared at." By separating two people in a laboratory setting, with the first person hooked up to equipment that monitors his or her nervous system and the second person staring at the first person at random intervals on a closed-circuit television, researchers have collected evidence for the existence of this phenomenon with statistical "odds against chance" of 3.8 million to one.
Sheldrake has also demonstrated in a number of studies that we can assist each other's learning across distances, without any external interaction or communication. In one study, for instance, a group of individuals completed a newly created crossword puzzle, and their average completion times were recorded. The same puzzle was then broadcast to millions via TV, for the viewers at home to complete. Subsequently, a new group, who had not seen the puzzle at all, finished it significantly faster than the original group, suggesting that as a result of so many individuals having done the puzzle, knowledge of the puzzle was somehow etched into the field of collective consciousness, making it increasingly easier for others to solve.
Radin, the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research (PEAR) Lab, and Roger Nelson's Global Consciousness Project have taken research into consciousness "field effects" even furtherinto the realm of mind/matter interactionsby conducting a series of intriguing experiments with random numbergenerating (RNG) computers. RNGs can basically be thought of as sophisticated coin-flipping machines, programmed to issue zeroes or ones randomly. That is, just as if you were to flip a coin one hundred times and could expect the "heads" and "tails" sides to come up fifty times each, so it is with an RNGproducing, on average, an equal number of zeroes and ones. Ordinary people, however, have used the power of thought alone to create order out of this randomness, causing RNGs that were sometimes thousands of miles away to issue significantly more of one number over many trials, simply by intending to do so. Bonded pairscouples in a relationshipproduced effects that were six times stronger than individuals. Like the remote viewing experiments, these results indicate that people with an emotional connection, when acting in concert, are more influential than individuals acting alone.
Just as we can create order in physical systems through focused attention or intention, a number of experiments have suggested that two or more people can create synchronization or coherence between their nervous systems. For example, in research funded by the Institute of Noetic Sciences and others, Marilyn Schlitz and William Braud have shown that individuals who are calm and relaxed can intentionally reduce the anxiety of others in distant places, and that people consciously focusing their attention can help others in remote locations to concentrate their wandering minds. In another arena"distance healing"67 percent of 150 controlled studies have shown that individuals and groups can use intention, relaxation, enhanced concentration, visualization, and what is described as "a request to a healing force greater than themselves," to heal others to a statistically significant degree. Healing effects and tele-prehension have increased when participants felt empathy and rapport or when they meditated together.
On community, societal, and even worldwide levels, more than twenty experiments, published in respected scientific journals, have demonstrated that Transcendental Meditation groups representing one percent of a target population have caused significant improvements in measures of quality of life and physical and mental health and have reduced crime, accidents, conflict, and war in the entire target population, apparently by reducing stress in the collective psyche.
These and other studies provide strong evidence that we can develop and work with our collective consciousness to produce a number of important interpersonal, organizational, and social benefitsfrom increased empathy, understanding, and respect to enhanced health, cooperation, and creative collaboration. In our increasingly diverse workplaces, communities, and global institutions, where we are challenged by extremely complex and urgent problems, cultivating these capacities will not only promote the common good but also could ensure our survival.
The ultimate spiritual revelation is that there is no other. There is only One. When any individual goes very deep into a meditative state, momentarily transcending the separate self-sense or narcissistic ego, this profound singularity at the level of consciousness itself is what he or she will find. There is an uncontainable thrill in those moments when the nonrelative nature of consciousness actually becomes apparent. Its as if the water boils over the edge, and the individual suddenly finds himself or herself overwhelmed by the absolute dimension of Being. That is the revelation that enlightens: Consciousness is One without a second, and I Am That.
The ground, or the foundation, of an enlightened perspective is the direct experience of the nonrelative or absolute nature of consciousness itself. Matter, mind, and time are all relative. Consciousness is not. And it is that interplay between the absolute and the relative, between the revelation of One and the appearance of many, that generates the awakened intensity that is the quality of enlightened awareness. An enlightened human life would be one in which the individual is living right on that edge, in the very heart of that paradox.
The most thrilling discovery I have made in my two decades as a teacher of enlightenment is that if a group of individuals chooses to go beyond ego together, it is possible to experience exactly the same overwhelming revelation of the absolute dimension with our eyes open, in a context that is not one of withdrawal and stillness but one of creativity and engagement. We discover a state of consciousness in which we are each aware that there is only One and yet, simultaneously, we are engaging as many; a state in which we are able to experience unqualified communion and powerful autonomy at the very same time. Thats nondualityincarnational nonduality. It is experienced in the body, in relationship, not only in the stillness of inner revelation.
In the traditional notion of enlightenment, the egoless state is just consciousness or Being. There is no activity involved, no relationship. It is easy to be egoless when theres no relationship. Anyone can experience egoless consciousness in the stillness of his or her own meditation. But the real challenge of enlightenment is egoless engagement in an intersubjective, creative context. That, to me, is the call of the future. Thats the new enlightenment that I am endeavoring to bring into being. This new enlightenment is not an individual attainment; it is a collective emergence. And it occurs when all individuals involved awaken simultaneously to what I call the Authentic Self, which is the evolutionary impulse itself, the energy and intelligence that created the universe, experienced directly in the human heart and mind. In that awakening, there is no difference between the deepest spiritual revelation of oneness and a fully embodied, conscious engagement with others and with the life process itself. The timeless paradox of enlightenment enters the stream of time in a collective or intersubjective context and becomes the ground for a higher evolutionary or developmental process. The Authentic Self or evolutionary impulse is the urge toward ever-greater complexity and higher integration. So in this intersubjective nondual or enlightened state, there is the living revelation of the fact that there is only One while simultaneously there is the appearance of the many; and the many, in the knowledge of being One, are ceaselessly striving to realize greater complexity and higher integration.
If each of the individuals in such a gathering is deeply committed to the Authentic Self to such a profound degree that it has displaced the separate ego to become the primary locus of identity, something quite miraculous and dramatic starts to occur. The nature of the Authentic Self is ecstatic urgency and unconditional commitment to creating the future. So when two or more individuals come together and awaken to the Authentic Self, a glorious future is created, at the level of consciousness, right now. Heaven comes to earth now. Heaven is a state of being in which the ego is not necessarily transcended altogether but is defeated. Ego is defeated when an individuals primary locus of identification shifts to the Authentic Self. Then the future at the level of consciousness does emerge in the present moment, and thats what a truly new world is. Its not some vague utopian vision a thousand years from now; its a new structure in consciousness that emerges at the deepest level, in the most interior dimension of the Kosmos, in real time, right now. At first it is glimpsed as a new potential, and eventually it becomes an actual structure in consciousness that emerges through the many simultaneously. In this intersubjective egoless field, everyone is relating to each other in a completely different way, from a radically different perspective, for very different reasons. And that is how a new world is born.
A new world means a new level or stage of development, and thats something we have to build together. Throughout history, there have always been rare and extraordinary individuals who were trailblazers, out ahead of everyone else, but new stages of cultural development are not individuals. They are intersubjective structures that are created in consciousness as human beings come together having transcended old value systems and worldviews and created new ones. So if the shared foundation upon which we build new structures is the transcendence of individual and collective ego, we are going to be consciously creating nothing less than an enlightened culture.
Spheres of Light .:. Balls of Lights .:. Orbs .:. Intelligences
Sensitives have long been aware of otherworldly presences, and now our readiness and the ever heightening vibrations of the planet and cosmic influences are providing ideal conditions for these intelligences to become more visible and interactive. Continuing reports indicate that more and more of us are seeing Spheres of Light and Spirit Beings without the aid of advanced photographic or movie-making equipment.
These phenomena are variously known as Balls of Light, Orbs, Plasma, Entities and Luminosities . I sometimes affectionately call these orbs SOLS as I like to call a spade a spade and a SOL a SOUL. With an added 'U' - we have what I believe they are - SOULS - Beings. I am quite convinced that they are intelligences from this and other realms.
As individuals focus to expand consciousness, there are many reports of intensive interactions highlighting playfulness, the advancement of our souls, details shared about life-enhancing technologies, journeying into the unknown, planetary healing expertise and joyous reconnection with soul families. Telepathic communications offer a two-way benefit for in-depth guidance and co-creating harmoniously with these intelligences.
Journeys Out of the Body
The Orbs are also Us as we truly are. When we die, or journey out of the body as in lucid dreaming, near-death experiences and remote viewing, we have no need in the etheric of our human form with arms, legs, head and torso.
The Soul - that eternal and immortal aspect of self - transfigures into an efficient vehicle in the form of a sphere, octahedron or similar.
We may also utilise the sphere when we venture out of our bodies and profoundly into The Real by focussed intention and in deep meditation. My photographs reveal the sphere as by far the most common form, however I have also seen several octahedron shaped ones, bauble orbs and now massive plasma entities. I have coined the term Etherics for these plasma entities.
As the quickening progresses to higher and finer vibrations of reality, and as we become very disciplined in our focus, - portals - and accessibility to other realms and dimensions is elegant and instant.
Orbs are discarnate souls, incoming souls prior to rebirth, angelic and ascended beings, guides, super-intelligences, extra-terrestrials, intra-terrestrials and beings such as nature spirits, faeries, other etheric souls and aspects of our own multi-dimensional selves.
We are at a profound place in our evolution where many are achieving mastery and the illusion is rapidly being seen for what it is - and we are now miraculously experiencing The Real.
On the second full moon on 20th May 2008, magnificent spirit presences began appearing in the photographs, and as I work with them I am turning them into a whole new form of authentic SpiritArt to bring out their luminosity and complexity. As of October 2008 I have photographed hundreds of Etherics and with Anna I am writing a book on Orbs, Etherics and Nature Spirits which will contain many of our photographs of the 'invisible'.
How will our study of, and interactions with, the orbs and other intelligences develop?
The answer is always Love.
The question is: What Now?

Note from Jean: The following is a talk given during a business community meeting in Johannesburg by Lou Bognon (lou@LOUBOGNON.COM) last November 19, 2008.
I should perhaps start with this basic statement: The future has already arrived.
We live in a world of dwindling resources which we continue to exploit like scavenging looters. We have a runaway population growth, destructive behaviours towards each other and our environment, excessive consumerism, as well as growing poverty and suffering for the greater number. In short, we live in an unsustainable world.
We have reached the point of having to collectively face the facts: It's over! We can no longer do business as usual. Our way of life, life itself as we know it, has become unsustainable.
Communism, socialism, capitalism and every other ism have now all failed, not just the people, but the entire planet. If anyone still has doubts about this, keep watching CNN, BBC, AL Jazeera, etc. The lingering feeling we get can be summed up with this question: What next/Who's next?
We need new ways, meaningful ways, changing ways, impacting ways of being in the world. Obama's election gives us just a very small hint of how crucial that need is. Change was his motto, but the wave of change we need must be all encompassing and it is required at a much faster pace. Most Americans have not yet grasped this, and most people around the world still have not grasped it either.
As for those of us who are trapped in the culture of possessive consumerism, we sense that there has to be something else to life. We know all too well that when we buy yet another product, it soon becomes just a thing and along comes a robber of some kind or another, boredom included, and there goes the thing, or our interest for that new precious thing .
Now that the future is here, how does one adapt to what is coming? How do we create anew? How do we work? What will we do? How do we go about it? Where do we start?
Considering the fact that change is not just a possibility but the only constant in our lives, we need to embrace change for a change, and welcome it without fear or reluctance.
Only those who are willing to learn to adapt and change as fast as the future is arriving at our doorstep will make it into the future. Many will simply give up along the way, and that too is part of the greater Divine Plan for this time of speeded up evolution.
Now I encourage you to ponder and meditate on this
Any of us, at any given moment, and in any part of the world, could suddenly become an environmental refugee, which means loosing everything except one's life. How would you then define yourself? What would you feel you have left?
Seeing that you, here today, are all part of the service industry in one way or another let us see how this accelerating pace of social, economical and environmental change is going to affect you:
1. Service will be re-defined, as it truly is intended to be, by the very word service, in its noblest sense.
2. People who will honour themselves, others and life, and who will welcome the opportunity of serving others and a greater cause, of being greater than themselves, are the ones who will be in demand!!!
3. The market place of tomorrow-which, by the way, has already arrived-will be different.
4. The collective degree of consciousness has risen dramatically and is continuing to rise ever upwards-exponentially now-breaking with the old and expecting the new to take its place.
By the year 2012, our current cycle will be over. The old as we all knew it will have died and in its place the new will have taken hold as we collectively-and finally-all come to this profound understanding:
We are all connected Everything is interconnected!
We are in this boat together. This is the ultimate Noah's ark, and we are in for a very rough sailing. Many will miss the boat, others will jump off the boat and many, many more will not even see the boat at all.
This will mean that we all need to understand that nothing and no one lives, survives or thrives in isolation. We need to start seeing ourselves not as separate but as part of each other.
The ancient concept of we are all one will come to visit us as we will learn to rely on each other more and more often, be it due to environmental causes, or to financial, political or any other factors.
As creators of our own reality, we all love drama. We watch it on TV, videos, DVDs, we listen to it on the radio, we go to the movies to be entertained by it, we read about it in magazines. When speaking and generally interacting with others, drama is usually what we do, drama is what we speak about, drama is what we want to be fed with, especially drama concerning others as it somehow makes our own feel smaller, or greater, depending on how addicted we are to it.
Hopefully, this will soon fade. We will long for peace and quiet, and the me/myself and I trilogy will be gradually supplanted by a more enlightened we/ourselves and us all focus.
We will start applying this ancient Golden Rule: What is good for me is good for my friend and for my enemy. What is good for us has to be good for all-all people and all life forms.
The illusion of separation will die once exposed for what it really is: a mere illusion.
Businesses that will persist in the application of the old paradigm of unfair competition, immoral practices, greed and fear tactics will perish. Current examples: Stock exchanges the world over; the auto industry; blind heartless consumption; pushers/marketers/advertisers, etc.
Anything unsustainable will simply not sustain itself: Full stop! So be watchful and adjust accordingly... Unsustainable business practices and productions systems, all old paradigm structures based on fear, greed and manipulation are doomed.
As the level of consciousness rises, the old will not be fed by people's attention, intention or desire, and consequently we will need more meaning, more understanding, more justice, more equity, and more fairness-but certainly not more things!!! With the ever increasing amount of information bombarding us from all directions, what we take for granted becomes obsolete every five years or so: new information, progress, discoveries and insights come at us at such a furious pace that only those who are firmly anchored in another out of time dimension will be able to cope and stay in sharp focus.
And so, before we will jump to buy and learn and do anything, we will automatically-and ever more so consciously-become aware that we need to look at how long this particular thing, course, object, etc. will be of any use to us which means our future will be one of less consumption and greater simplification.
Simplicity is a key word for the future which, once again, is NOW.
Anything too complicated will become obsolete-instantaneously.
As time accelerates, we shall learn to use it wisely, constructively. Therefore, long, complicated essays, books, concepts, courses, teachings, etc. will be/are obsolete, while simple, clear books, concepts, courses, etc. will be/are timeless.
Ego based behaviours and practices are joining the extinction list-and fast! New love-centred behaviours, practices and industries are now the norm and they will survive.
Anything encouraging dependency, and relying on a saviour, is obsolete.
The same applies to belief systems based on fear and damnation, condemnation and judgement They are all obsolete.
The new consciousness expects, and knows better: We will move from doing and having to simply being.
Future teachers will only be able to teach by example.
There you have it! In a nutshell, adapt or become obsolete. Complicate and become obsolete. Sim-pli-fy Develop your inner being. See yourself as complete, and yet as a part of the greater whole. Love and laugh a lot, and trust.
You are innately perfect, and your reality is of your own making. If you no longer like it, the time is now to create anew, and to adapt to the future Right here and now!
More young people pursuing simpler life http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4062706/
Sandi Garcia was living her dream or so she thought. With a marketing degree from the University of Wyoming, she moved to Florida, started climbing the corporate ladder and was making good money. There was only one problem: She was miserable. She was up at 6 a.m. and getting home from work just in time to watch the late-night news, and she often worked weekends, too.I got burnt out pretty quickly, says the 26-year-old, who longed for a life that was calmer and simpler. She found it back in her native Cheyenne, Wyo., where she now has plenty of time to ski, volunteer at an animal shelter and enjoy her friends and family. Experts say Garcia is one of a growing number of Americans particularly people in their 20s and 30s who are making a conscious decision to slow down and cut back on all that overwhelms them. Its true among people of all ages. But its much stronger, much more notable among the younger generations, says Bruce Tulgan, a Connecticut-based consultant who tracks generational relationships and trends in the workplace. Theyre simplifying at home: Pierce Mattie, a 28-year-old New Yorker, recently sold his car, moved into a smaller apartment and gave away much of his wardrobe. It feels great! he says, noting that having so much junk I dont use was stressing him out. (...) Some researchers are finding benefits in a simpler life. The upshot is that people who value money and image and status are actually less happy, says Tim Kasser, a psychologist at Knox College in Galesburg, Ill., who has researched the phenomenon. He says they often report being less satisfied with life and are more likely to experience depression, anxiety and such physical symptoms as back aches and headaches. Those who werent focused on possessions, fame and fortune were, overall, more content with life and felt better, too.We found this in people from age 10 to 80 all around the world, says Kasser, author of the book The High Price of Materialism. Kasser heads the research committee for The Simplicity Forum, a group of authors, speakers and leaders interested in voluntary simplicity, also the title of a 1981 book that some say is the movements bible.
In 1962, Thomas Kuhn wrote The Structure of Scientific Revolution, and fathered, defined and popularized the concept of "paradigm shift" (p.10). Kuhn argues that scientific advancement is not evolutionary, but rather is a "series of peaceful interludes punctuated by intellectually violent revolutions", and in those revolutions "one conceptual world view is replaced by another".
Think of a Paradigm Shift as a change from one way of thinking to another. It's a revolution, a transformation, a sort of metamorphosis. It just does not happen, but rather it is driven by agents of change.
For example, agriculture changed early primitive society. The primitive Indians existed for centuries roaming the earth constantly hunting and gathering for seasonal foods and water. However, by 2000 B.C., Middle America was a landscape of very small villages, each surrounded by patchy fields of corn and other vegetables.
Agents of change helped create a paradigm-shift moving scientific theory from the Plolemaic system (the earth at the center of the universe) to the Copernican system (the sun at the center of the universe), and moving from Newtonian physics to Relativity and Quantum Physics. Both movements eventually changed the world view. These transformations were gradual as old beliefs were replaced by the new paradigms creating "a new gestalt" (p. 112).
Likewise, the printing press, the making of books and the use of vernacular language inevitable changed the culture of a people and had a direct affect on the scientific revolution. Johann Gutenberg's invention in the 1440's of movable type was an agent of change. Books became readily available, smaller and easier to handle and cheap to purchase. Masses of people acquired direct access to the scriputures. Attitudes began to change as people were relieved from church domination.
Similarly, agents of change are driving a new paradigm shift today. The signs are all around us. For example, the introduction of the personal computer and the internet have impacted both personal and business environments, and is a catalyst for a Paradigm Shift. We are shifting from a mechanistic, manufacturing, industrial society to an organic, service based, information centered society, and increases in technology will continue to impact globally. Change is inevitable. It's the only true constant.
In conclusion, for millions of years we have been evolving and will continue to do so. Change is difficult. Human Beings resist change; however, the process has been set in motion long ago and we will continue to co-create our own experience. Kuhn states that "awareness is prerequisite to all acceptable changes of theory" (p. 67). It all begins in the mind of the person. What we perceive, whether normal or metanormal, conscious or unconscious, are subject to the limitations and distortions produced by our inherited and socially conditional nature. However, we are not restricted by this for we can change. We are moving at an accelerated rate of speed and our state of consciousness is transforming and transcending. Many are awakening as our conscious awareness expands.
What is Ascension? Is It Real? If So, Am I Gonna Make It?
By David Wilcock -- 9/26/03
Is all this Ascension stuff for real, or is it just the imbecile fantasy of people deeply divorced from reality? Here is what the media never tells you, at least not all at once.
We all know that the Earth is experiencing global warming and other changes, whether the petroleum giants like it or not. Just read the headlines.
What we may NOT know is the following:
SUN: The Suns magnetic field is over 230 percent stronger now than it was at the beginning of the 1900s, and its overall energetic activity has sizably increased, creating a frenzy of activity that continues to embarrass NASAs official predictions.
VENUS: Venus is now glowing in the dark, as is Jupiters moon Io.
EARTH: In the last 30 years, Earths icecaps have thinned out by as much as 40 percent. Quite inexplicably, just since 1997 the structure of the Earth's gravity field has shifted from being slightly more egg-shaped, or elongated at the poles, to more pumpkin-shaped, or flattened at the poles. No one at NASA has even bothered to try to explain this yet. Link to full article at NASA.
MARS: The icecaps of Mars noticeably melted just within one year, causing 50-percent changes in surface features. Atmospheric density had risen by 200 percent above previous observations as of 1997.
JUPITER: Jupiter has become so highly energized that it is now surrounded by a visibly glowing donut tube of energy in the path of the moon Io. The size of Jupiters magnetic field has more than doubled since 1992.
SATURN: Saturns polar regions have been noticeably brightening, and its magnetic field strength increasing.
URANUS: According to NASAs Voyager II space probe, Uranus and Neptune both appear to have had recent magnetic pole shifts 60 degrees for Uranus and 50 for Neptune.
NEPTUNE: Neptune has become 40 percent brighter in infrared since 1996, and is fully 100-percent brighter in certain areas. Also, Neptunes moon Triton has had a very large percentage increase in atmospheric pressure and temperature, comparable to a 22-degree Fahrenheit increase on Earth.
PLUTO: As of September 2002, Pluto has experienced a 300-percent increase in its atmospheric pressure in the last 14 years, while also becoming noticeably darker in color.
Everything you have just read is referenced from mainstream media sources, and the full list of relevant links can be found within chapter eight of Divine Cosmos. The whole key to mass media control is to ensure that these facts are never seen all at the same time. It becomes all too weird once we add in the ever-increasingly stressful socio-political events on Earth, such as a perpetual war against terrorism, with the smirking Bush as Wild-West-Messiah-In-Chief playing Bring em On for Armageddon, along with the fulfillment of many other ancient prophecies, including those of the Judeo-Christian Bible.
Here at DivineCosmos.com, we have freely published a compelling scientific case for there being a Convergence, Shift of the Ages, dimensional shift or Ascension now underway. When this solar-system-wide process is complete, estimated to be within the timeframe of 2010-2013, we can expect an Omega Point event that is literally beyond our wildest dreams. The changes in the Solar System are only the more obvious and physical result of these changes, where the energy of consciousness itself is being upgraded, causing mass evolution to occur.
But, alas. Undeniable Solar System changes aside, isnt this all just too good to be true, on this Bush-whacked planet?
Why not? Wouldnt something like this be a nice surprise, to say the least? What other explanation fits for the whole Solar System going through this metamorphosis, while similarly huge events are happening at an accelerating rate in Earth society? How about including the fact that almost every established body of historical spiritual teaching, from all cultures, has some form of prediction about this event that is now coming true?
There are pivotal ideas that have changed the destiny of mankind and shaped its future. Many have remained unnoticed within the shadowy corners of history until a bright light has shown on them, illuminating them, and making them relevant to time, place, and circumstance.
Such is the understanding of the oneness of the human family, of mankind - an idea that has been part of human consciousness for ages, yet one that has not attained its full status as being real or relevant until today, when the planetary body itself is in danger, and when new possibilities appear within the hearts of many who are being influenced by expanding spiritual light upon the Earth.
The idea of the human family relates not only to its essential oneness in terms of the basic needs and rights of every individual upon the Earth - the need and right to food, shelter, and a way of life free from fear. The idea of the human family relates also to the understanding that there is a basic kinship among mankind, a basic essence that we share together so that in heart, mind, body, and spirit, there is more that joins us than that separates us.
This perception, when taken to a deeper level of truth and reality, has radical consequences. For it means that we cannot separate the world any longer into those we love and those we hate, those who are with us and those who are against us. Indeed, we must find a way to achieve common ground even with those we hold profound differences with, recognizing their humanity, recognizing, that they, too, have the same underlying structure of needs and desires that define all that is human.
We are in the process of discovering, today, not a new truth about the physical, biological, or chemical structure of what it means to be human - although advances in science are revealing a great deal in these areas as well. Today, we are discovering a truth that emerges from the heart. This truth emanates a sense of compassion, a desire for peace, a longing for honesty and an end to deception, an aversion to all that limits or restricts the rights of individuals to live freely.
These ideals, illuminated by spiritual light, are glowing more brightly within the human heart, so that structures and policies that are detrimental to the right of individual freedom are being questioned, policies that have been long established that have contained hidden motives or agendas are being uncovered, and practices that are restrictive to human liberty are being exposed. These policies and practices may not yet have an immediate substitute at hand. For the vision of the new has not yet fully come into being. Yet the desire for fundamental respect to be accorded to each and every human being because of their humanity, is moving more into the foreground of human consciousness.
An idea whose time has come may have been present in awareness long before this. It may even have been one commonly referred to, yet without understanding the full consequence of its emergence into the light of day. Such is the idea of the 'human family', one in mind, heart, and spirit, waiting to recognize itself as one in body as well. For this 'body' of the human family is nothing other than the essence of Divine life and Divine energy that has lived within each human soul from the beginning of time. It is the essence of truth and of purity that has remained at the core, no matter what the exterior self has displayed. This Divine essence which links all in 'body' as well as in mind and heart, means that there is no longer an 'outsider' or 'other' that we may declare as such. For all are united in a common Source that flows through the spiritual veins of each human being.
This is the new and radical truth whose time has come. It has not yet fully arrived on the human scene, but is waiting in the wings. It is waiting for each one to awaken to the full meaning of being One.

We, as a collective humanity, have entered into a golden era of illuminating peace, magnificent beauty and global awakening to spiritual principle. It is a new paradigm characterized by profound change, purification and the creation of new structure to support harmonious co-existence in Divine order, peace and unity.
We are one global family. All of our spiritual missions are now united to co-create a new planetary civilization of light. This unification completely reflects and exemplifies the new earth harmonic and the equality of all people, countries, races and religions.
All humans are created in equal magnificence as radiant Divine expressions of God, the universal creative force. As extensions of our Creator, we are born of the light and this supreme universal light is within us all. All power is within, all answers are within and what we seek is within.
The sense of duality which has taken humanity down the path of separation from God, or Source energy, is no longer the necessary experience in the forward evolution of our planetary home. There is no separation between us and our Creator. We are transitioned completely from all separated beliefs, fear-based realities and conditional living. We remember and understand the eternal self and the continuation of consciousness. We no longer attach to the illusions of fear and death.
We remember our spiritual heritage and are now lifted up to our highest potential and creative expression as Spirit in form. From the purity of heart intention and authentic humility, we reclaim personal power by embracing the spirit of unification and the interconnectivity of all things.
We are magnificent creative beings of Love. As the full pattern of perfection, we are Divine instruments of our Creator and are here to serve Gaia, humanity and to co-create, together, a new civilization of Light.
We are all Children of the Sun brilliant Divine beings of spiritual light.
There's a wonderful story about Milarepa, the Tibetan Buddhist saint who as a young man went out into the world to experience life and returned home to find his house filled with demons. He was angry and afraid at first and wanted to fight them or flee. Instead, he did the unexpected.
First he took a deep breath and bowed. Half of the demons disappeared. Then he opened his heart and mind, expanded his field of awareness and out of his mouth came a song that sent away all but one of the demons. The last demon, snarling fiercely, opened his mouth to consume Milarepa, but Milarepa placed his head in the demon's mouth. The demon disappeared.
What's wonderful about this story is the way Milarepa dispelled the demons. He "inspired" himself with a deep, calming breath and expanded into the higher perspectives of peaceful non-resistance.
We can do the same. If we are quiet and wait patiently, magnificent insights will come to us too. We have only to expand our view, as ancient people did in watching the constellations move around the nighttime sky. One day, someone built a wheel and civilization moved forward.
How do we move into the higher mind, which sees farther and more truly than our ordinary eyes?
Here's how it works for me. When I take a deep breath, widen my awareness and wait patiently, my still, small voice beckons me into the peaceful serenity of my heart. I am drawn by these joyful feelings into a luminous field of love behind my closed eyes, and I sit silently, gratefully, in these currents of energy until Earth meets Heaven in me.
In this stillness of being, I seek not to know why there was an earthquake and tsunami in the Indian Ocean. I open my heart and envision light illuminating that part of the world, calming and purifying earth, sea and sky. In being a channel of blessings, I too am healed.
Some people consider meditative prayer to be wishful thinking, yet it is the single most effective way to bring about healing and peace. More than anything else, the love and light flowing from us will bring each suffering person the understanding, peace and healing so badly needed and propel us all into the age of enlightenment wheeling toward us now.
The amazing research of Dr Masaru Emoto on water crystals (hado.net) perfectly illustrates the ability of loving prayer to transmute diseased water into molecular patterns of exquisite beauty and harmony. Meditation has the same alchemical effect, according to 600 studies cited by physicist John Hegelin (permanentpeace.org). These studies show that the peaceful energies pulsing outward during meditation build a global brain wave coherence that reduces aggression and heals the quantum field of consciousness.
So why are our lessons still so painful? My still, small voice explains that pain, suffering and loss are in no way part of the natural order. Rather, our resistance to the love flowing through all things creates an energetic snarl of pain and loss.
As we open our hearts and minds, our empathy moves us into the quantum field of love, where we become one humanity. This is the path of oneness taken by all the great mystics and why the Hindu swami Muktananda said, "Earth, moon, stars and sun revolve inside me." Rumi, the Sufi poet of Islam, urged us to immerse ourselves in the glittering cosmic sea of spirit until our toes begin to say Allah.
The Hebrew prophet Elijah found oneness and divine guidance in the still, small voice within and so did the Christian prophet Jesus. In "The Life of St. Issa," an ancient manuscript translated by a traveler in a Tibetan monastery in the 1880s, Jesus points us to the voice of the heart and God's infinite healing and peace.
The universal laws of love will protect us if we live in harmony with our planet and keep our eyes on the big picture: a wheel inside a wheel turning us inward to an enlightened new age where we are one people, one mind, one soul dispelling its demons and coming to know Itself.

We are the first people to know,
The first generation to see and understand that our Universe began more than 13 billion years ago.
This is our journey.
Thirteen billion years ago, energy burst forth out of a deep mystery.
Energy beyond imagination.
Billions of years pass as the Universe expands and cools.
The first atoms of hydrogen and helium form,
Becoming gaseous clouds.
Eventually, stars are born
Billions of stars.
Some stars collapse and grow cold.
Others flare forth as supernovas with the brilliance of a billion stars.
Each time new elements are born carbon, oxygen, nitrogen and more.
The same elements that exist in our world today the calcium in our bones, the iron in our blood
We are the first to know our sun is only one among billions of stars in our galaxy.
There are billions of galaxies, each with billions of stars.
We live on one of the planets that circle around our star.
Men and women from many nations have ventured into space.
They are the sensing element for all of us and every one had a similar experience.
It is so beautiful!
You dont see any borders or boundaries
It is our home
It is a home we share with all other species.
In their different forms each species shares that ancient star dust.
We are carbon and iron and oxygen and more.
We share a profound kinship with all Life.
We share a 13 billion year journey.
As the first to see, to know, and to understand this miracle,
We are gifted with knowledge and opportunity, power and responsibility for the future.
A FASCINATING SCIENTIFIC DISCOVERY - LIFE ITSELF IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MOST MINERAL SPECIES ON EARTH
Life caused explosion in our planet's mineral wealth
14 November 2008
As life has evolved into all its abundance and diversity, Earth's rocks have come along for the ride. Two-thirds of the kingdom of minerals the building blocks of rocks can be traced to the emergence of life, say geologists.
This new perspective could shake up our picture of Earth's geological history, and might even help us find life on other planets.
"Rocks and life evolved in parallel," says Robert Hazen of the Carnegie Institution's Geophysical Laboratory in Washington DC. "It's so obvious - you wonder why we geologists didn't think of it before."
All rocks are made up of constituent minerals. For example, granite contains quartz, mica and feldspar. Geologists tend to classify such minerals in a methodical way, using factors such as their colour, hardness, and composition.
Hazen and his colleagues decided to take a fresh approach by exploring how the diversity, abundance and associations within the mineral kingdom have evolved over time. "What we have done differently is recognise that each mineral has its own story." he says.
Breath of life
According to Hazen, the story begins with a mere 12 minerals that existed in the dust swirling around in the clouds that would eventually form the solar system - minerals like diamond, created in the fury of supernova explosions. When the Sun ignited, the heat from this event boosted the number to around 60.
The formation of the Earth and subsequent geochemical processes upped that to around 500, and the switching on of the conveyor belt of plate tectonics to around 1500.
"But it was life, which made its first appearance about 4 billion years ago, that made the biggest difference," says Hazen. "It boosted the number of minerals to more than 4000."
Life brought profound changes to Earth's atmosphere and ocean chemistry.
Photosynthesising organisms created abundant atmospheric oxygen. Under this oxygen-rich environment, the chemical processes of oxidation and weathering generated a swathe of new species of metal-rich minerals, such as iron.
"Four billion years ago, metals on the surface like iron and copper remained pure and shiny," says Hazen. "But the new atmosphere oxidised them, creating a host of new minerals." Approximately half of the 4300 known mineral species are down to oxidation or weathering.
Search for ET
Around two billion years later, the nature of the mineral kingdom evolved again with the emergence of hard-bodied marine organisms. These created thick deposits of carbonate minerals, such as aragonite, when they died and settled on the seabed.
Plants also played a part by decaying and providing the compounds for the organic minerals that make up rocks like coal or black shale.
Even the amounts of precious metals may have been influenced by life - microbes are thought to trigger the deposition of gold from hot waters inside rocks.
Hazen says the new perspective could aid the search for extraterrestrial life. He reckons probes sent to planets like Mars should be designed to look for particular mineral features such as oxidised zones in cliff faces.
"If we find certain minerals, they will point uniquely to certain organisms," he says.
Gary Ernst at Stanford University describes the study as "breathtaking" and says the new perspective could revolutionise the way geologists describe the mineral kingdom.

Mineral evolution (Dec 2008) http://ammin.geoscienceworld.org/cgi/content/abstract/93/11-12/1693
The mineralogy of terrestrial planets evolves as a consequence of a range of physical, chemical, and biological processes. In pre-stellar molecular clouds, widely dispersed microscopic dust particles contain approximately a dozen refractory minerals that represent the starting point of planetary mineral evolution. (...) Biological processes began to affect Earths surface mineralogy by the Eoarchean Era (~3.853.6 Ga), when large-scale surface mineral deposits, including banded iron formations, were precipitated under the influences of changing atmospheric and ocean chemistry. The Paleoproterozoic Great Oxidation Event (~2.2 to 2.0 Ga), when atmospheric oxygen may have risen to 1% of modern levels, and the Neoproterozoic increase in atmospheric oxygen, which followed several major glaciation events, ultimately gave rise to multicellular life and skeletal biomineralization and irreversibly transformed Earths surface mineralogy. Biochemical processes may thus be responsible, directly or indirectly, for most of Earths 4300 known mineral species. CLIP
Extreme life found at record seafloor depth (May. 22, 2008) REALLY STUNNING! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24778468/
Microbes that endure searing heat live a mile below the ocean floor -- Scientists have found life about twice as far below the seafloor as has ever been documented before. A coring sample off the coast of Newfoundland turned up single-celled microbes living in searing temperatures about a mile (1,626 meters) below the seafloor. "These are probably not only the deepest, but the hottest organisms found in deep marine sediments," said R. John Parkes, a geobiologist at Cardiff University in Wales. "I was hoping we would find them this deep, so we were very excited that we actually did confirm they were present. It's fascinating to know what proportion of our planet actually has living organisms in it." While life has been known to exist at even greater depths beneath land such as bacteria found nearly two miles underground in a gold mine in South Africa life under the sea had previously only been detected to depths of about half a mile (842 meters) below the seafloor. (...) The newly-discovered life likely gets its energy from methane. It thrives in 111 millionyear-old rocks, enduring temperatures between 140 to 212 degrees Fahrenheit (60 to 100 degrees Celsius). In this extreme environment, life is relatively sparse."There's no light around, there's no oxygen around," Parkes told LiveScience. "It's basically just rocks, but there is still some space for water, which the organisms need."This discovery of some of Earth's most extreme living creatures may shed light on the search for extraterrestrial life. "Until we know what's there on Earth, were not going to have a clue what's possible on other planets , (...) If life on Earth can go as deep as several kilometers, there's no reason why that wouldn't be true under similar conditions on another planet." CLIP
Polar depths yield hundreds of weird species (May. 16, 2007) AMAZING PICTURES! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18704209/
Carnivorous sponges, blind creepy-crawlies adorned with hairy antennae and ribbed worms are just some of the new characters found to inhabit the dark abysses of the Southern Ocean, an alien abode once thought devoid of such life.Recent expeditions have uncloaked this polar region, finding nearly 600 species of organisms never described before and challenging some assumptions that deep-sea biodiversity is depressed. The findings also suggest that all of Earth's marine life originated in Antarctic waters. CLIP
Note from Jean: If you have been mesmerized and enthralled like me when I first discovered the (now greatly expanded!) Wingmakers website over 10 years ago, you will probably be interested to read the following excerpt (about 1/4 of the whole document) from the answers provided by the mysterious creator of this website, James, who once again offers his own absolutely unique way of describing and explaining the "reality" we all live in. The least that can be said is that his perspective is very stimulating in that it opens new vistas for us to ponder.
The Sovereign Integral - The written interview with James
Question 1 from Project Camelot:
How much of the WingMakers story is true or based on fact?
Answer 1 from James: The terrestrial storyline is based on a technique called Sensory Bi-Location (SBL), which is similar to remote viewing in concept. This storyline is based on my investigations using this technique as it pertains to the ACIO, Incunabula, Illuminati, ET cover-ups, etc. These elements were then modified in name, identity, and locations in order to integrate with the mythological storyline of the WingMakers and retain the cloak that surrounds these organizations. It was not my purpose to expose these organizations or their dubious agendas; however, I was aware that many of the conspiratorial minded were among those who cared the most about truth and uncovering it. The cosmological scope of the story is mythological, while the more terrestrial elements contained in the Neruda Interviews are based on my experiences with SBL.
Question 2 from Project Camelot:
Some people studying and commenting on current events seem preoccupied with what are perceived by some to be discouraging messages of gloom, or warnings of potential major problems. Others focus only on messages of hope and light, and refuse to dwell on bad news. Although we have no trouble incorporating both views and understand that how they manifest will depend on each of us, some of our audience tend toward one view or the other.
What is your own philosophy or that of those you represent about this dilemma, and what light can you shed on this ongoing debate between the two factions, both of whom care deeply about the future of our world?
Answer 2 from James: The ominous situations of our world are very real. It is impossible to look at the policies of governments around the world and see coherence, benevolence, enlightened action, or, in general, behavioral intelligence as an outflow of equality and oneness.
The human family has been bound up over thousands of generations and each time returning to our home planet Earth for the sake of upgrading the previous generations dominion, creature comforts, lifestyle, and technology, while the emotional maturity remains burrowed in the substrate of rape, abuse, enslavement, war, dishonesty, greed, government fraud, and a hundred other vices of weak and disillusioned humans programmed to see only the out-picturing of the human mind and its systems of limitation.
The human family is building a pyramid of manifested life across thousands of generations and each new generation builds another layer an upgrade of technology and lifestyle. We are nearing the apex of this pyramid where there is nothing left to add. The pyramid is completed and we each of us must look at the pyramid we have constructed and ask ourselves how it exemplifies our transcendence, our true Self.
The pyramid of humanity is manifest in the three-dimensional world, but it derives from a set of constructs that are flawed. What are these constructs? What makes them flawed? How did humanity get off course to build structures of civilization and society that are such poor reflections of who we really are?
There is a specific framework that has emerged over millions of years to induce humanity to the repetitive post of deficient civilization-builders. In the context of your questions, I must begin by defining this framework in order to answer all of your questions with sufficient detail and bring some new texture and dimension to the conversation. This framework is known within Lyricus as the Suppression of the Sovereign Integral. Its nine primary components are delineated below.
Before you, the reader, continue on, let me warn you that this is a sobering and direct analysis of the suppression framework and I would advise everyone who reads this to remain neutral as they examine my answers. If you find the information feeling too heavy or evoking fear, set it aside or return to it later. This story is not for everyone. Some will feel threatened by it and react with a sense of alarm, and others will feel like someone pulled the rug from underneath them. If you feel any of this, you may not be prepared to confront these realities.
The Secret Framework for the Suppression of the Sovereign Integral
Human Mind System (HMS) The Human Mind System is separated into three primary functional mechanisms: The unconscious or genetic mind, the subconscious, and the conscious. These three components intermingle to form what most people term consciousness. The HMS is the most opaque and distorted veil that has stood between humanity and its true self, perverting its self-expression within the domains we call reality.
The unconscious, genetic mind is the repository of all humanity; the subconscious is the repository of the family bloodlines; and the conscious mind is the repository of the individual. However, and this is important to understand, the foundational patterns of thought are primarily from the subconscious and genetic mind structures of consciousness. Thus, while the individual believes themselves to be individual, unique, separate, and one-of-a-kind, in reality they are not. Not in the context of HMS.
You can conceptualize yourself as a copy of the human family folded inside a copy of your parents and bloodlines, placed into an individualized expression: you. The You is an HMS particularized into one expression, but its roots are entirely planted in the soil of humanity and parental lineage, all of which is downloaded into the developing fetus before birth.
This is precisely why, after ten thousand generations, we continue to operate in the same patterns of greed, separation, and self-destruction. The image in the mirror is upgraded with better clothing and more sophisticated masks, but underneath, the image remains the same feelings, the same thoughts, and the same behaviors.
Social and cultural engineering via the entertainment and educational systems conspire to entrain the individual during their developmental years (3-14 years old), activating the programs and subsystems of the HMS to ensure that the individual is properly prepared to conform to the reality matrix of their time and place. Even those who are non-conformists, who fancy themselves outside the box, are well within the perimeter of the HMS.
Money-Power Grid (MPG) The reason for the Human Mind System to exist is for the Elite to exercise control over the Money-Power Grid. Money is the prime objective of the Elite because it imbues power to those who possess it. Money takes many forms, including assets of precious metals and petroleum, land or real estate, minerals, and products and services. Money is the God of the Elite and their banks are the religious institutions in which they can worship their God.
The corporate elite, government elite, underground elite, and banking elite constitute the MPG controllers. Those in positions of power, especially within the banking sector, are beholden to the MPG and will do everything possible to tighten their controls of the MPG and manipulate the human family to serve their agenda.
Interdimensional Universe Structure (IUS) This is the structure of reality domains and how they interface with one another. IUS is a very, very complex subject to disclose in a format such as this, so I will only touch the surface.
Human beings are both dimensional and interdimensional. First Source is all of us. It is the Collective Us. It is not a God living in some distant pocket of the universe. First Source is the Human Collective unencumbered with the HMS. First Source divided itself into individualized expressions us. In the beginning, we inhabited dimensions that were not material, but existed at quantum levels of time and space.
However, as the dimensions grew in density through the expansion of creation (our creation), we, as individualized, interdimensional beings, were seduced to enter the human body. This seduction was a co-conspiracy of forces led by Anu, the King of the Anunnaki, who required enslaved workers to mine the physical gold that was present on Earth in abundance. Those beings we now consider the Atlanteans, were interdimensional living upon Earth, and Anu, with great cunning, convinced them to embody in human instruments.
This embodiment was a grand experiment in human engineering, and the Human Mind System (HMS) was at the core of this project. Anu realized that the only way to enslave the Atlanteans was to sheath them in a mind system that would reduce their capacity to express their true nature, and instead, express the programs embedded within the HMS. These programs were the creation of Anu and his scientists.
God-Spirit-Soul Complex (GSSC) This is the central element of the HMS that anchors separation. The individualized human being, free of the HMS, is called the Sovereign Integral in the WingMakers mythology. This is the true identity of each and every human being. In this model of the Sovereign Integral, we are Gods of our local multiverse, and collectively, we are First Source in the multiverse.
Why is GSSC the anchor of separation? We have two paths: Religion and Spirituality each being different sides of the same coin, and this coin is GSSC. Now, Anu, being the intelligent, clever entity that he is, knew that humans would evolve, and in this evolution they may begin to remember that they are Sovereign Integrals. Bear in mind that the Atlanteans were highly evolved beings before they donned the human instrument of Anus creation. Also remember that the human instrument is not simply the physical body but includes the emotions and HMS, and that this human instrument is componentized so that while the physical body dies, a higher dimensional body or sheath that is based on the physical body carries on.
Some refer to this as the soul, others refer to it as the astral body, but it is simply a sheath for the Sovereign Integral to operate within and it remains subject to the HMS and most of its programming. Thus, even upon death, the Sovereign Integral is not released from the influences of the HMS or the human instruments programs.
The Anunnaki created the HMS in order to consign the Sovereign Integral the true Self that is infinite and eternal into a prison of conjured illusions and deceptions. So the human instrument was fitted with HMS and the Sovereign Integral was placed within it as the life force, that which powered the human instrument. An aspect of GSSC was the program we call the fear of death, the fear of separation, the fear of non-existence.
It was this fear, so powerfully felt by humans, that gave rise to the construct of a separate God, from which a separate Spirit filled the universe, and from which we were all created in separation. Whether one arrives to God through religion or spirituality, does not matter, it is the same effect of appeasing the fear of death within the individual just as the program specified. In effect, Anu, the King of Anunnaki, positioned himself to be God of the human world.
The pathway to God, independent of the religion or spiritual path one walked, had the same program underlying it: You are a human with a soul, this soul must be redeemed or activated, upon which you will be saved. In this process of being saved, you are relinquished of self-responsibility to the world condition. You are rewarded with a life eternal in the kingdom of God (by whatever name you call God) where you can live in bliss and/or serve as a teacher of the light.
The savior/master construct is an integral part of the GSSC, and encourages human beings to yearn for a master to teach them how to ascend, how to be saved, how to achieve nirvana, how to live a moral life, and how to ensure eternal happiness. There are masters of great wisdom and light who remain within the domain of the HMS without knowing their involvement. The subtlety is so powerful that even when you feel you have achieved self-realization you remain trapped in the HMS. It is that vast, especially when compared to the material world.
Saviors can take on the form of many things, including the second coming of Christ, a wrathful God, the Earth, nature spirits, angelic hosts, prophecy, and extraterrestrial forces who will intercede on humanitys behalf. Each of us is our own and only savior, our only master who can truly cause us to stand-up within ourselves and shut down the suppression systems and awaken to their Sovereign Integral consciousness. This is the liberation path and this will be discussed in answers that follow.
In essence, GSSC is an aspect of HMS that perpetuates separation. Just as different languages separate, different religious and spiritual pathways separate the human family, and make possible a race that is more easily controlled and pacified through the GSSC.
Death Stress Implant Network Detour (DSIND) As its long title suggests, DSIND is the descent into humanness and the tether of custody to the material world. Within the solar plexus region of the human instrument is the DSIND module of HMS. This gets a little complicated because you have to look at HMS as the master network, and then there are nodes or implants that plug into HMS. One of these is DSIND, and while it is anchored in the solar plexus, it is an intricate network that develops exponentially upward into the heart, neck, and head regions. This is an etheric structure that collects, absorbs, and distributes fear, anxiety, stress, and restlessness.
While the fear of the future dominates this module from a programming perspective Anu was careful to connect it to the primal fear of death and non-existence. DSIND creates much of the dysfunction in the human family in terms of its behavioral deficiencies. It also activates humans for service in religion and spirituality paths.
Polarity System (PS) This is a sub-node of DSIND designed to create polarities in the HMS and thus create friction between the polarities, and from this friction manifest discord and disharmony. If you exist in HMS (and you do), then you exist in polarity. It is truly that simple. Polarity is what activates and feeds the HMS. It is the food of HMS because in polarity the human instrument is lost in separation, which is precisely the point of HMS as intended by its designers.
Genetic Manipulation System (GMS) This system was an outgrowth of various interdimensional races working to create a suitable instrument for accessing the physical world. It was Anu who specifically wanted to not only access the physical world in order to exploit its resources, but to do so by suppressing the infinite beings that would power the human instruments so he had the equivalent of willing slaves. Yes, infinite beings can be suppressed into finite beings when they are subjected to HMS.
In the course of engineering the human instrument, it was decided to create GMS as a means to modify the human instrument over time, as it evolved, to ensure it would never achieve self-realization or the Sovereign Integral state of awareness. The state of satori, nirvana, cosmic consciousness, enlightenment, and rapture were all different names for heightened states within the GSSC, which was still within the HMS domain, but these became checkpoints that triggered GMS interventions. The true state of the Sovereign Integral even after death of the human instrument was never realized by a member of the human family until very recently.
Wholeness Navigator This is the element of HMS that activates the individuals authentic search for God in the context of wholeness, oneness, unity, and equality. Some people undertake this search because they feel an obligation to do this as a means to appease the expectations of their parents, spouse, or their own sense of guilt. The authentic search, as decreed by the Wholeness Navigator, is a recent bypass that has been brought into the human instrument through GMS, which is an open system. While it is still an artifact of the HMS, it is a backdoor into the liberation path. More about this later.
Post-Death System (PDS) This is the system where the individual, upon death of their physical body, is greeted by guides on the other side and review their life experience, confronting those areas of deficiency and returning to right the wrongs of their previous life, in other words, karma and reincarnation. The PDS is the means by which the Sovereign Integral remains in the grip of illusion even though the illusion is a heightened reality when compared to physical existence on the Earth plane. It enables the recycling of the Sovereign Integral into physical dimensions over and over again.
This process was initially conceived of as the principal means through which the world would be prepared for Anu to be born into the Earth plane and reign upon Earth as the undisputed world leader. However, that eventuality has been removed as a scenario.
These nine components constitute the prison complex that every human being is subjected to when they are born, live, and die; no matter how many cycles of birth and death they may undergo.
With the Suppression of the Sovereign Integral, we are all living in a Matrix-like world of illusion and deception. While human beings are no longer in service to the Anunnaki for the production of gold, the genetic carry-over of the HMS and the other components of the suppression framework are nonetheless still in operation and the reins of these suppression systems have been turned over to, and greedily grabbed by, the Elite.
It is well past the hour that humans wake up to what they are participating in and learn how they can stop it one individual at a time. We are the key to our dilemma and we must learn how to deactivate the suppression matrix so we can awaken to the Sovereign Integral consciousness, live within its behavioral intelligence, and release ourselves from the grip of the mind and human instrument.
Those who extol hope and light, I can only say that you will be disappointed if your hope is contingent on anyone, save yourself, to facilitate change in this world. It is truly as Gandhi explained; we must become the change we want to see in the world, but the key is to define what change.
Have you ever considered the definition of your Self? What is it that defines you? If you look in the mirror and peel away the masks, the pretentions, the deceptions, the fears, the thoughts, the feelings; what remains? For most they would answer their soul or spirit. And if I told you that the soul as most define it does not truly exist apart from the mind, what would you say?
The change I want to see in the world is that people begin to see themselves as multidimensional beings whose core is the Sovereign Integral that is the distillation of First Source in a singular, human expression. If people were only in tune with this frequency, they would understand that all is united in oneness, equality, and truth. This is the definition of the Grand Portal as it has been disclosed by the WingMakers mythology for the past ten years.
Each individual is a portal unto themselves, and this portal is the access point to the interdimensional worlds of the Sovereign Integral, where the human instrument, like a space suit, is finally removed and the individual realizes their true, infinite nature. And in this realization, understands that everyone EVERYONE is equal in this state, and in this equality we are ONE. The Grand Portal is when humanity stands-up as ONE BEING to this all-encompassing realization and then we transcend the suppression framework and express as Sovereigns.
2012 is a single page in the book called the Era of Transparency and Expansion. The life of deception the era of veils over veils over veils is dissipating, provided enough people rise up within themselves and honor the Sovereign Integral within by expressing its truth. But to do this, people must become attuned to its consciousness apart from the HMS, and this is the course of action that people must engage in.
The seeking of information is over. The seeking of a master, guru, religion, spiritual path, or way-shower is over. The seeking of objects of blame is over. The seeking of hidden information behind the dark forces is over. It is the expression of the Sovereign Integral consciousness and the deactivation of the suppression framework that becomes the focus of each individual in this new era.
Question 3 from Project Camelot:
My own view is that our planet is a conscious being and the planet and humanity is moving from the 3rd density into the 4th to the 5th in the coming years. My understanding is that we have entered the 4th density at the present time. According to the RA Material, not all of humanity will move into the 5th Density, but will remain in a 3rd density Earth out of choice and due to their emphasis on service to self vs. service to others.
- How do you view this?
- If your view is different, would you please go into some detail on what you see?
Answer 3 from James: Earth, as a consciousness, is indefinable. The moment you bring in a description of Earths consciousness, you define it, and the moment you define it you frame it in separation, and the moment you separate it into elements you deceive its true essence. Earth is a Host Consciousness, and this is its essence, though even that creates separation and therefore a degree of deception.
Yes, the densities are shifting, but these are artifacts of the Human Mind System (HMS). Even the belief that the near-infinite dimensions of the astral and mental planes are real is a comparison to the physical plane. I would suggest to you that what is in the purview of the human instrument, which includes the physical, emotional (astral) and mental densities or dimensions are all caught up in the HMS and suppression framework. It is not of the Sovereign Integral and it is therefore impermanent, existing in polarity, separation, and deception. In other words, it is a creation designed to conceal what you truly are.
The Earth is not shifting to a new dimension in order to raise its consciousness and ascend to a higher state. Nor are the fortunate few going to be swept along because they did something better than others and therefore they are the chosen. We, as a human family, are being prepared to live as Sovereign Integrals upon Earth. Will this happen in 2012? No.
2012 will feel like any other year for most people. There is no year or specific time that will define the era of transparency and expansion, the rise of the Sovereign Integral. It is happening quietly in the most unexpected places. People are beginning to see that what has been encoded within their human instrument is a system of control, deception and manipulation. And at some deeper level, they glimpse a new clarity, as fleeting as it might be; they perceive themselves to be more than a system of feelings and thoughts packaged inside a body. This is what is to come people awakening from a virtual reality inside a virtual reality.
Earth is part of this new transparency. Nature has already donned this new apparel and wears it proudly, but humans have not noticed for our programs lack the perception. It will be, in part, through Nature that the human family will be awakened, and Earth is preparing for this eventuality. When it occurs, it is not because Earth is vengeful, or God, working through Earth, is delivering His wrath. It is Earth/Nature expressing its new transparency and expansion in its own way.
Consider the following story: Advanced humans, living on an interdimensional level were cleverly induced to embody human instruments designed by a foreign intelligence, the Anunnaki. As this work force was developed, the physically embodied humans became utterly accepting of their limitation because it was systematic in suppressing the Sovereign Integral consciousness the infinite and eternal life force that powered their human vessels.
Early on, human bloodlines intermixed with their designers, and the human evolutionary pathway into diversity was accelerated. Part of this diversity was contained within the elite societies that helped to formulate the separation of the human family in the Money Power Grid. The designer Gods, the Anunnaki, were ultimately satisfied with their mining operations and left Earth and their human creation behind.
The human genome was adaptive within the matrix of the Human Mind System (HMS) and evolved into the present day human family we have in the early 21st Century. So now we have a race of beings that are trapped inside a suppression framework unknowing of their condition, worshipping Gods that do not exist, believing in heavens and hells that are part of the HMS landscape, praying to masters and saviors to absolve their sins and moral apathy, and continuing to fear death and non-existence as if they were absolutely unaware of their true nature.
Lets say that you are the true God, First Source. What would you do to awaken people to their true nature? What process would you use to shift the human family to a perspective of realization that what they had believed in was of deception and suppression of their true natures, knowing that the components of the suppression framework could not be removed overnight or the individual would likely go crazy or, worse yet, perish. What would you do?
First Source has limited moves on the chessboard because humanity is sealed inside a prison where the guards and warden of the prison control the money system and hold and distribute the power among themselves. The spiritual and religious leaders are equally caught up in the prison, occupying the more righteous sections, but still within the same prison. The interdimensional beings like ascended masters and angels are also imprisoned though their freedoms seem near-infinite when compared to the human inmates.
There are a handful of humans, who have removed the HMS and its assorted systems of separation and broken out of the prison, but these are an infinitesimally small percentage, and generally their writings, stories, techniques are received as crazy talk by their fellow inmates. And even if a handful of humans escape the prison, the prison sends its guards to re-capture them or discredit them in such a way as to render their deeds as supernatural or, worse yet, demonic.
The real problem in this story is that the humans within the prison do not see the prison as a prison or the guards as guards. They are oblivious to their imprisonment. Thus, they are not trying to escape from the prison; rather, if they are seeking to escape from anything, it is from boredom, anxiety, poverty, pain, bad relationships, illness, depression, and hopelessness. The suppression of their identity as a Sovereign Integral that lives in eternal and unconditional oneness, equality, and truthfulness is not even a consideration in their search.
Earth, consisting of the animal, plant, and mineral kingdoms as well as the elements of air, water, and fire, combined with Nature as defined by the cosmos, is the Queen on the chessboard that First Source can use. These are strategic instruments through which specific walls of the prison will be destroyed and individuals who are properly prepared can reclaim their identities as Sovereign Integrals and establish a new transparency and expansion within their wholeness.
Now, just because some walls of the prison will be taken down, does not mean that everyone will run out and embody their new freedoms. The prison is constructed of many walls, and when one wall falls down, there is the initial rush of relative freedom, but there remains another wall and another wall after that. The prison is a labyrinth and until the individual is not relying on pictures, images, sounds, words, feelings, and thoughts to interpret their world, they remain inside a wall of the prison I have previously described as the suppression framework of the Sovereign Integral.
Many will not feel comfortable with the spatial qualities and long horizons of this new era. They will resist the transparency and expansion because they have come to identify so strongly with their HMS that anything that tears at that identity, threatens what they perceive as their hold on existence.
Others, who are prepared, will easily embody this new era and transition into it like a baby eagle taking its first flight a little awkward at first, but quickly mastering the required skills. While Earth and Universe Nature play key roles in the liberation maneuver, the preparation of the individual is their own responsibility. It is a balanced equation: Earth/Nature + Individual Preparation = Sovereign Integral Realization.
The First Point of process is the key factor of preparation. If your First Point for the reclamation of the Sovereign Integral state of consciousness is anything less than unconditional oneness, equality and truthfulness in the expression of every moment, then you will hit many walls within the prison, and each time you do, you will be required to start over. Thus, the initial point of self-realization must be aligned to the realization itself. This is due to the mathematical equations that guide the process.
Subject: Pleiadian Message for November Part 2
Date: 2 Dec 2008
It has come to our attention that many have been led astray as to the nature of UFOs, especially in the case of the spiritually and technologically advanced off worlders. As for degenerate self-serving ETs the door has been left wide open due to the nature of the leadership and institutions of the Earth also being of like mind. Many in the ufo communities in error and the press are riddled with misinformation focusing primarily on the threat spreading fear and separation along with disinformation some willingly and some unknowing. Many have their fingers in the N.W.O., New World Order/Illuminati cookie jar and are not walking in their integrity.
Little is known about the benevolent ones. Why, because they work in mysterious ways in the unseen and neither the Illuminati or your government and most within the ufo community know their ways. Their culture is beyond the projections of this civilization. In some cases their ways are in direct conflict with those who would like to keep you subservient, powerless and in fear.
There is another reason for them not making themselves known in the past and that is due to the collective consciousness not making a space for them. Neither your governments, your press, even your ufo community has created a space or maintained a sufficient frequency or vibration conducive to their presence. In fact, many have censored all efforts to do so by those deemed the ground crew. Look at what has happened to your prophets and wise men/women of the past and anyone who goes against the status quo. Well your status quo is in for a real shock. It is unsustainable and the end of one world is coming yet along with it will be the birth of a new world simultaneously.
You are going to see our ships around the world and it is going to increase exponentially. People everywhere are going to be looking up and questioning the integrity of governments, media, and all institutions which have not been truthful to their people. The only threat the off worlders visiting now will be to is the degenerate ETs and those that serve them and yes the N.W.O. or Illuminati. Why? Because they represent all they are not and they cannot overpower, subdue or defeat them as they have the better portion of humanity. They are incorruptible.
It is not up to the off world visitors to lower themselves to your expression. It is up to the people individually and collectively to rise to the occasion and reclaim their divinity. It is also up to the people to address those who are not walking in integrity and question their motives. Why do so many ufologists and organizations continue to ignore the presence of benevolent off worlders and why promote the fear, threat and victimization censoring a much grander picture? Why are the sightings kept far away, off in the distant past when they are here and now with a timely message? Why are those who know who is on the ships and their intentions censored?
Make it a global intention to join the rest of the universe in peace. Ask for guidance and help to heal, release the past and clean up the environment. Demand an end to war and aggression not only with your own people but with those who have come to help from afar. Create heaven on Earth if you want heaven to come to Earth.
On a more down to Earth note, the real threat has been here for a long, long time. It is not coming from space. It is the consciousness of the majority of unseen and seen leadership on Earth and the ignorance of those of ill intent which opened the door to lesser evolved self-serving ETs and even darker unseen energies. Those who keep promoting an external threat are clouding and diverting you from seeing the real culprits in the trials and tribulations of humanity as well as diverting you from the real power which is within. It is the ignorance of separation, the blasphemous holy wars, and the desire to compete, overpower, and exploit others which is creating a supportive environment for degenerate souls, humans, ETs and other negative influences. This all has a frequency and those who align with these frequencies are not going to survive the vibrational lifting or the awakening and healing of humanity and the Earth.
No one despite their arrogance will avoid their light review where they will be in the presence of the lords of light, review and feel all the pain suffering and injustice done to others. Not even the bloodlines who believe they are the chosen ones or any other sect who believes they are ordained by God to rulerule I might add at great expense to humanity and the Earth. A very rude awakening is coming their way. The great uncovering is unfolding, the action/reaction or karma is being accelerated. The false belief in separation, greed, competition, exploitation of not just humanity but the Earth as well is coming to an end.
A great consciousness and energy is sweeping across the land and these lights appearing in your heavens are a part of it. They are igniting the lights on Earth. Everything has changed, your nuclear wars have been cancelled, all that which is hidden is now being revealed and now is the time to choose peace. It is time to live in harmony with each other and nature, support each other, work together for there will be many challenges as one world leaves and the other comes forward. Decisions have been made on high, there are some new kids on the block and the gloves have been taken off. The days of tyranny are short-lived. They will rise in one last effort, yet it will be for naught.
UFO Fleet Guadalajara Mexico http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKzzsM-__sg
On June 10, 2004, the city of Guadalajara witnessed undoubtedly the most spectacular UFO fleet sighting in known history. The sky over the city became filled with hundreds of sphere-shaped objects grouped together in a massive formation and all moving in unison - like a spectacle straight from a major Hollywood Sci-Fi film. The number of luminous spheres was in the hundreds, and among them, in a certain spot within the formation was a much bigger craft, disc-shaped, which might have been controlling the whole armada.
One of the greatest formative experiences of my life preceded Harry Potter, though it informed much of what I subsequently wrote in those books.
This revelation came in the form of one of my earliest day jobs. Though I was sloping off to write stories during my lunch hours, I paid the rent in my early 20s by working in the research department at Amnesty International's headquarters in London.
There in my little office, I read hastily scribbled letters smuggled out of totalitarian regimes by men and women who were risking imprisonment to inform the outside world of what was happening to them. I saw photographs of those who had disappeared without a trace, sent to Amnesty by their desperate families and friends. I read the testimony of torture victims and saw pictures of their injuries. I opened handwritten, eye-witness accounts of summary trials and executions, of kidnappings and rapes.
Many of my co-workers were ex-political prisoners, people who had been displaced from their homes, or fled into exile, because they had the temerity to think independently of their government. Visitors to our office included those who had come to give information, or to try and find out what had happened to those they had been forced to leave behind.
As long as I live I shall remember walking along an empty corridor and suddenly hearing, from behind a closed door, a scream of pain and horror such as I have never heard since. The door opened, and a researcher poked out her head and told me to run and make a hot drink for the young man sitting with her. She had just given him the news that in retaliation for his own outspokenness against his country's regime, his mother had been seized and executed.
Every day of my working week in my early 20s, I was reminded how incredibly fortunate I was to live in a country with a democratically elected government, where legal representation and a public trial were the rights of everyone.
Every day, I saw more evidence about the evils humankind will inflict on their fellow humans to gain or maintain power. I began to have nightmares, literal nightmares, about some of the things I saw, heard, and read.
And yet I also learned more about human goodness at Amnesty International than I had ever known before.
Amnesty mobilizes thousands of people who have never been tortured or imprisoned for their beliefs to act on behalf of those who have. The power of human empathy, leading to collective action, saves lives and frees prisoners. Ordinary people, whose personal well-being and security are assured, join together in huge numbers to save people they do not know, and will never meet. My small participation in that process was one of the most humbling and inspiring experiences of my life.
Unlike any other creature on this planet, humans can learn and understand, without having experienced. They can think themselves into other people's minds, imagine themselves into other people's places.
Of course, this is a power, like my brand of fictional magic, that is morally neutral. One might use such an ability to manipulate or control, just as much as to understand or sympathize.
And many prefer not to exercise their imaginations at all. They choose to remain comfortably within the bounds of their own experience, never troubling to wonder how it would feel to have been born other than they are. They can refuse to hear screams or to peer inside cages. They can close their minds and hearts to any suffering that does not touch them personally. They can refuse to know.
I might be tempted to envy people who can live that way, except that I do not think they have any fewer nightmares than I do. Choosing to live in narrow spaces can lead to a form of mental agoraphobia, and that brings its own terrors. I think the willfully unimaginative see more monsters. They are often more afraid.
What is more, those who choose not to empathize may enable real monsters. For without ever committing an act of outright evil ourselves, we collude with it through our own apathy.
One of the many things I learned studying classics at the age of 18, in search of something I could not then define, was this, written by the Greek author Plutarch: "What we achieve inwardly will change outer reality."
That is an astonishing statement and yet proven a thousand times every day of our lives. It expresses, in part, our inescapable connection with the outside world, the fact that we touch other people's lives simply by existing.
If you choose to use your status and influence to raise your voice on behalf of those who have no voice; if you choose to identify not only with the powerful, but with the powerless; if you retain the ability to imagine yourself into the lives of those who do not have your advantages, then it will not only be your proud families who celebrate your existence, but thousands and millions of people whose reality you have helped transform for the better.
We do not need magic to change the world. We carry all the power we need inside ourselves already: We have the power to imagine better.

A picture paints a thousand words. To know this is true only requires a single phrase: Abu Ghraib. The images released to the public shocked the world, and provided irrefutable evidence of the unconscionable interrogation tactics employed by U.S military personnel.
Everyday, grassroots activists around the world are documenting pressing human rights abuses not dissimilar to the abuse in Abu Ghraib.
Even in the face of insurmountable oppression and censorship, human rights defenders press on to help create the change they want to see.
WITNESS is building a community of support for these activists on the Hub. As they work on the front lines of today's most pressing human rights abuses, the Hub is where their voices can be heard and issues can be linked to unearth global trends in the struggle for human rights.
Pledge to become a part of the growing movement of citizen journalists, activists, lobbyists and video advocacy pioneers whose voices are often locked out of mainstream media.
I pledge to stand beside the brave activists who capture on film the human rights abuses in their local communities. I will share in their act of witnessing and take action to right the wrongs that they document. By doing so, I will help build a global community focused on alleviating human rights violations and strengthening the dignity of all people.
Help build a global community focused on alleviating human rights violations and strengthening the dignity of all people. Standing together with the brave activists who capture on film human rights violations in their communities, we can share in their act of witnessing. And by doing so, we are compelled to take action to right the wrongs documented.
Everyday, grassroots activists around the world document pressing human rights abuses. These human rights defenders carry on in the face of terrible oppression and censorship. Join them in the fight for human rights.
I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED NOT TO BRING SUCH ABYSMAL HORROR TO YOUR ATTENTION IN THIS COMPILATION ABOUT HOPE, BUT THERE ARE MILLIONS OF OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CONGO WHO HAVE PRECIOUS LITTLE HOPE RIGHT NOW AND WHO GREATLY NEED OUR HUMAN EMPATHY AND ASSISTANCE. ALSO SINCE THIS IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE PEACE AND HUMANITARIAN VIGIL IN THE CURRENT MEDITATION FOCUS, I THINK IT HAS ITS PLACE HERE.
Following along the same lines, Joanne Tomkinson at AlertNet recently wrote an excellent article on the massive scale of rape in Congo today, which also describes ways in which the international community can better respond.
We have a responsibility as human beings to help the people in Eastern Congo (Dec 9, 2008) http://ginovandewalle.com/we-have-a-responsability-as-human-beings-to-help-the-people-in-eastern-congo/
Does the Western world really care about the problems in Africa? Yesterday, the European Ministers of Foreign Affairs couldnt come to an agreement to send in troops as a reinforcement for the Monuc Peace Keeping Force in Eastern Congo. Despite the fact that incredible cruel things are happening each and every day in that region. United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon has been pleading the European Union for help, the Belgian government is in favour for doing so, but, apparently, there is no enthusiasm within Europe to help solve the problems over there. Can they really be solved? Thats the big question. When I was travelling through that region in 1989, a lot of people of the older generation, locals who had lived when the white man was ruling the country, asked us when we would come to take it over again? Because, they said, when you were the Bwanas (bosses) over here, we had education, we had public transportation, we had roads, we had health care, we had hospitals, we were happy Their words. It hurts to see that a region that could be one of the richest in the world, has become one of the poorest in the same world. Ok, there is no oil in that area, but there are diamonds and many other minerals like cobalt and coltan which the Western world loves so much. And if the local people are not able to run their country themselves, shouldnt we take our responsibility to help them? What strikes me as well is that there is absolutely no solidarity amongst the African countries as well. The Mugabes of the 21st century are only interested in robbing their countries and becoming as rich as possible themselves. Somalia, Darfur, Zimbabwe, the area of the great lakes in central Africa all desperate places where human tragedies are happening each and every day. But while the politicians are talking in the beautiful conference rooms of the world, women and young girls are being raped by soldiers. Rape is used as a weapon to destroy whole generations of fellow human beings. One of the clips below was filmed in Bukavu, Eastern Congo, a city that I visited as well. A long time ago, this used to be one of the most modern cities in Africa, at the boarders of Lake Kivu, a beautiful area. Today, it has become a centre of horror. When will we take action in order to help these people? After all, dont we have a responsibility as human beings?
In eastern Congo there are villages where almost every woman has been raped, where women have been forced to have sex with their sons, where wives have been sexually assaulted in front of their husbands, and where even babies aren't spared, Britain's Guardian newspaper reports in a feature on the horrific scale of attacks against women in the conflict-ravaged country.
"Since they raped me nowhere in my body feels right. I have problems with my womb, back and stomach. The rebels took my daughter and now I'm looking after my four grandchildren. I have to sleep in the church because I have no house," Madame, 70, told the paper.
The troubles in Congo were claiming lives long before the recent international focus on its spiralling chaos, and they will go on claiming lives long after our attention has moved on, an editorial in the paper says.
Much more must be done to help the countless victims of rape and sexual violence, including strengthening the country's court systems, supporting women to bring charges, and bringing an end to the culture of impunity surrounding militia and government forces.
"But it is also important to begin to understand the pathology of sexual violence in warzones," the paper says.
"Rape can be a weapon of control for the young soldiers who make up the militias, often little more than children themselves, brutalised by their commanders and seeking, however fleetingly, to control their environment. That means providing schooling and skills for them - and for the children born from rape. Otherwise they will become the next generation of soldiers, and the next generation of rapists."
International greed for the country's vast mineral resources, has also played a critical role in turning the country into a colossal "rape mine" according to an Inter Press Service (IPS) article.
"Rape is being used as a deliberate tool to control people and territory," Eve Ensler, a U.S. playwright and activist, told the news service.
The war in eastern Congo is an economic war where terror is used to ensure warlords control regions where international companies mine for valuable metals like tin, silver and coltan, or extract lumber and diamonds, according to Ensler.
The international appetite for these minerals, along with the gross indifference of the global community, has helped to fuel the enormous scale of sexual violence in the country, the article says.
"The failure of the international community has created a catastrophe in the DRC," Stephen Lewis, former U.N. special envoy for AIDS in Africa told IPS.
Meanwhile, for David Scheffer, writing in the International Herald Tribune, more must be done in general to ensure that the strategic use of mass rape in modern warfare is prosecuted as genocide under international humanitarian law.
"In the 1990s I met scores of rape victims from atrocities in the Balkans, Sierra Leone, Uganda and eastern Congo," Scheffer writes. "In most cases their experiences were so devastating to their character, their ethnic bonds and often to their health that the logic of how mass rape can destroy a substantial part of a group and thus constitute genocide seemed clear."
The way that rape has been used as a weapon by government forces in Darfur, is a good example of this. Those loyal to Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir have forcibly driven substantial numbers of ethnic groups into camps for displaced persons and then inflicted rape and other forms of severe sexual violence on them, Scheffer writes.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) is currently considering whether to issue an arrest warrant for Bashir on the grounds that he masterminded a campaign of murder and rape to destroy three ethnic groups in Darfur that have challenged his power.
"There is no shortage of actions, including repeated mass rapes, from which to infer genocidal intent," Scheffer says.
"If the judges can continue their review and find reasonable grounds to charge rape as genocide, thousands of women and girls attacked by rapists as a means of decimating their ethnic groups will share a small measure of justice and peace."
Aged one to 90, the victims of hidden war against women
Diane Taylor - December 5 2008
(Video featured at the URL above)
Mirindi Euprazi was at home with her family when the rebels attacked. They broke into her home and took all her possessions, before torturing her, her husband and their teenage children. Then the horror began.
"They forced my son to have sex with me, and when he'd finished they killed him. Then they raped me in front of my husband and then they killed him too. Then they took away my three daughters." She hasn't heard of the three girls, 13, 14 and 17, since. A small woman, she speaks softly and without visible emotion, but as she describes being left naked while her house burned, she raises a hand to cover her face.
Euprazi, 50, lives in the village of Ninja, in the Walungu region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, close to Rwanda's western border. Today, Ninja is a village almost exclusively of women and children. Most of the husbands have been killed, either by Interahamwe - the Hutu militias responsible for the 1994 Rwandan genocide who then fled over the border into the forests of eastern Congo - or by Tutsi rebels led by General Laurent Nkunda. Almost every woman here has been raped, some countless times. Some have been so badly injured by repeated rapes by different militias that they are barely able to stand. Many of their children were conceived through rape.
The plight of the women of Walungu has been documented in remarkable video footage obtained by a nurse and featured in a Guardian film.
Walungu is just 40 miles from Bukavu, one of a handful of regional centres where the UN, international aid agencies and journalists have been based since fighting between Nkunda's militia and Congolese troops displaced 250,000 people in eastern Congo. Their purpose is to protect civilians and distribute aid, but the NGOs say it is often too dangerous to venture outside the towns. In Ninja, women and children go hungry. Humanitarian aid has not reached here, and there is no security.
Leah Chishugi, a nurse now living in London, travelled to the region in September and October to take food and medicine to the villages. Chishugi grew up in Goma, just inside the Congolese border, so she knows the region well and is fluent in local languages, but after narrowly surviving the Rwandan genocide in 1994 she fled as a refugee to Britain. Appalled by what she discovered on her return, she began to film interviews with rape survivors in the villages.
"The women told me I was the first person from the outside world to reach them. They have had no help from aid agencies, nor from the Congolese government and the UN, because this area is too dangerous for them to travel to."
She rented a car in Bukavu, on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, and drove to Walungu. When the roads became impassable she walked. "The forests were littered with corpses," she said. "It was a horrific sight and the smell was unbearable. I imagine that many of the bodies were those of the men who had lived in the villages.
"This killing of the men has happened in other places too such as Kiwanja [further north]. I'm sure the idea is that by getting rid of the men they weaken the population, so that if they want to take full control of this territory ... there are no local men to fight them."
Over the two months she interviewed approximately 500 rape victims. She recorded names, ages, locations of the rapes and whether the perpetrators were Tutsi or Hutu. The youngest victim was a one-year-old baby, the oldest a woman of 90. Many were raped in their homes, others in the forests where they gathered firewood. One 14-year-old already had two children conceived through rape. These atrocities are not new: the oldest child Chishugi recorded who was conceived through rape by the militias was nine years old.
"I was on my way to market with some of the other women when I stopped off to pee," one woman told Chishugi. "I was carrying wood and I was taken by the rebels. Five of them raped me. I still have pain in my legs because they were so violent. Afterwards they said, 'You must not walk alone any more.' I have two children born from the rebels."
Nsimire Bachiyunjuze, 21, was 16 when she was first taken by the rebels. "I now have three children born through rape and I'm HIV positive as a result of what they did to me." Her husband rejected her.
HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases are rife among the women who have been raped, says Chishugi. "Some of the babies were born sick with HIV and the women told me they threw these babies in the bush. Some of the women are bleeding all the time and there are lots of vaginal infections."
Madame, 70, said: "Since they raped me nowhere in my body feels right. I have problems with my womb, back and stomach. The rebels took my daughter and now I'm looking after my four grandchildren. I have to sleep in the church because I have no house."
"I saw horrific injuries from the rapes," said Chishugi. "Sometimes the rebels shove corn cobs or gun barrels into the women's vaginas after they've raped them. I saw women who were permanently sat on basins because since they'd been raped they hadn't stopped bleeding. I also saw women who'd had their breasts cut off."
One charity worker said the problems had persisted since shortly after the genocide. "Hutus pursued by Tutsi militias had their camps dismantled and then invaded remote villages. Since then these outlaws, both Hutus and Tutsis, have been committing massacres. People sleep in the bush fearing night raids. Many die from pneumonia and malaria. We don't yet know how many casualties there are [but] no humanitarian aid is reaching these people."
A spokesman for the UNHCR said that while there were many agencies working in Walungu, they had "minimal presence" in villages close to areas still occupied by Hutu militias known as FDLR.
"There are frequent reports of sexual abuse of women and girls by both FDLR and Congolese army," said the spokesman. "Areas such as Ninja ... are more far flung and inaccessible due to the continued presence of FDLR in the forests. Agencies will not go to areas where their safety cannot be guaranteed."
"This situation is not going to go away," Chishugi said. "I want the international community to take action. During the 1994 Rwandan genocide nobody spoke up for us and now I want to speak up for people who are suffering.
"[These women] are still terrified when you talk to them; you really find the deeper pain in their heart. So they need more than just food. These people need help."
On Wednesday, the court of appeal dismissed an attempt to argue that it was not safe to return failed asylum seekers to DRC, and forced removals to the country may resume shortly.

Cell phonesit's hard to imagine life without them. But did you know that their manufacture has helped finance conflicts overseas? What is Coltan? Coltan, also known as tantalum, is a mineral used extensively in tech devices like cell phones, laptops, digital cameras and gaming systemsto name just a few. With over three billion cell phone subscriptions worldwide and an increase in demand for other technologies using coltan, this resource has become very valuable. Congos Mineral War One region that has significant deposits of this precious mineral is the war-torn eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Unfortunately, many of these coltan deposits are located in rebel-controlled areas of eastern Congo, with various other armed groups fighting for control of the resources. Armed groups list various causes for their involvement in the conflict. One rebel group states that it is fighting to restore justice for the Tutsis killed during the Rwandan genocide. But many groups affected by the war believe the true cause is precious minerals such as coltan, which carry a huge price in the international market. In fact, a United Nations investigation on the illegal exploitation of natural resources in eastern Congo found that its conflict revolved mainly around the access, control and trade of five major mineral resources, which are coltan, diamonds, copper, cobalt and gold.
