Rising Phoenix Series #42: We Are Those We Have Been Waiting For!

Hello everysoul!

There is PLENTY of amazing - sometimes even exhilarating - stuff in this compilation which I'm very happy to bring to your attention. But of all the amazing things you'll find in those 100+pages, what feels to me more important than everything else right now is what is at the beginning of it, which is this...

The Rainbow Warriors
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utBkbJIYMy8
The story and legend from the Native Americans People about the Tribe of people from many walks of life, that will rise to save the Earth. (This webpage is also recommended at the end of this inspiring video)

... which has a most special resonance to me because we are, after all, co-creators and co-stewards of the Earth Rainbow Network, and we are all to various degrees a bit like the prophesied "Warriors of the Rainbow"...

... and what's at the end of it -- We Need a Dream, America! -- which came to my attention today.

Yet, I don't want you to think for a moment that what's in between is not that much interesting.

There are many wonderful feedbacks from several ERN subscribers...

...a brilliant initiative from my good friend Gus Makreas (International Prayer/Meditation to Support Dennis Kucinich) -- which I hope we will all support and help network widely, because if there has ever been a time when a soul so in tune with God's Will such as Dennis needed real and sustained support from the People, it is NOW ... because as Gus wrote "He is the main driving force of true progressive political change - Sea Change - in the U.S. right now!"...

... and there are many other gems, opportunities for progressive, enlightened actions, several passionate letters from various ERN subscribers on a number of key issues we all need to dig deeply, some really heart-stirring, complacency-punching pieces of information, crucially important environmental news, and in short a full plate of reading material that should keep you busily happy for a couple hours... at least!

Incidentally, I do not expect to have time to prepare another compilation for you this month as I have an important book translation (The Intention Experiment) to complete for the French publisher (Ariane Editions) for whom I work. And talking about book translation, I have a very good news to share with all French speaking subscribers. Thanks to a God-sent angel, I will have the privilege to translate in French the 3 other books from Suzy Ward (Matthew Tell Me About Heaven is already done) as well as Christ Returns - Speaks His Truth in the near future. I'll keep you informed as they'll become available.

So until we connect again, I wish a happy Thanksgiving to all our US subscribers and may Love and happiness always radiate for you all :-)

THE QUOTES

"Dear Jean... You follow your own believed mission with unusual persistence and obviously long hours of hard work in order to compile what are actually political dossiers. From quantum physics, from recent movies such as What the Bleep Do We Know, David Icke, Anastasia and from inside the self, the truth is, there is only love. The dark exists by the power of the mind to create it. Whatever we focus on, we create. Focusing on the dark political agendas creates more of the same. Once the faith is placed on only love, then we literally see the darkness recedes. For all the years you have given your faith to exposing both good and evil and what has changed in the "world"? It is the power of focus, the choice to live each present moment only giving attention to the positive that creates it. We become what we think about. There IS no external reality "out there". The mind, the brain is a holographic creating phenomenon and hence the crystal skulls. Give your readers the opportunity to read this, if you will be so kind. The Word has the power to create. Look at the words you use. If negative words can affect water molecules, what are they doing over the Internet? Please, I write not to criticise. I just know from experience what changes came over my own life when I stopped giving my energy to the negative and understood the "world" is illusion."

- Vladimir (modrin2006@seznam.cz) from the Czech Republic -- Message found in the ERN guestbook

"What is happening now is, on one level at least, simply an effect created by our past thoughts, words and deeds. We create the future by focusing on what we what to create both in this moment and in the next. Still, we cannot simply ignore or deny what is happening now. I think the key is this: to not judge, condemn or go into fear, but simply to choose who we are in response to what is going on. The more we choose to be loving, fearless, honest, etc., the more that will shape the future - how all of the "negative" things turn out. Can we remain detached, by which I mean keep an open mind and an open heart to the unfolding of events and intend that everything unfold for the highest good? It is the energy that we attach to what is going on that fuels it. If we go into fear, the fear fuels all the things that we are saying we do not choose to have in our world. If we simply become aware of what is going on, and respond without the charge of fear or condemnation, there is no fuel on which the negative can feed and grow. That is not to say deny the fear or sadness that arises, but to notice that it is there, surrender it, and ask to be filled with peace and faith and love for all. Then the light shines in the darkness and the darkness is illuminated."

- Bonnie Mandell-Rice (velsubus@yahoo.com)

"One of the probabilities that we spoke to in earlier communications was a downturn of the US economy. We said this two years ago and indicated that November of 2007 would be the most likely last window where this would take place and, indeed, it is unfolding as we had seen it. We wish to say to you, however, that the situation is far worse than is currently realized, so you would do well to prepare yourselves for difficult financial times. But that is not the perilous passage of which we speak. We are, rather, speaking to your emotional life, the life of your heart and your spirit, for it is unquestionable that the unfolding events of the next few years will emotionally strike those who have sensitive hearts and who dream of a better world. (...) Part of this chaotic phase is the simple result of the shift from one dimension of consciousness to another. As Earth and humanity move from 4th dimensional consciousness to 5th dimensional consciousness -- which is outside the constraints of time and space as you collectively perceive them -- there is a tension between the old world and the new world. You are right in the midst of this.As more and more people experience paradigm shifts driven by sudden leaps in spiritual understanding, the old world is undermined. The new world with its new cultural, political and economic presuppositions has not yet blossomed, so you are in a kind of no-person's land where the old views no longer work, but the new views have not yet come into usable expression. So this is one reason for the difficulties you are experiencing in this dimensional shift."

- Excerpt from Planetary Message from the HATHORS channelled by Tom Kenyon on November 17th, 2007 = Recommended by Regina-Sophia (regina-sophia@webjogger.net)

"Mother-Father God, I thank You for the Desire, the Hope, the Faith, the Willingness and the Experience of Loving You with all my mind, all my heart, and all my soul, creating perfect Gratitude, perfect Love, and perfect Faith... filling my heart with Songs of joy, Waters of Life and Clothing of Light... I love You, I love You, I love You! Thank You!"

- Kelley Elkins (kelley@anextstep.org) who also wrote: "Every time I say or think it... it raises my energy and my faith in All of God, Goddess... All That Is. I do not begin to understand where we are going or why... I believe eventually, we will all arrive at the same place... some sooner and others later... And what is time when we have eternity? I consider myself a humble bridge builder, not to be the first across, simply to help get it built so that it can be crossed... And I know that this bridge is inside each of us. Not someplace out there. As Heaven, the Kingdom of, is also, not out there some place, but within each of us. We are on an incredible journey with each of us having front row seats to the greatest show on Earth... We get to be in Awe, watching everything on this path of Heart."

AIDS "One Of The Greatest Human Tragedies Of Our Time"

Today (Nov 13), former premier and outspoken opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was put under house arrest to prevent her from leading a cross-country caravan to protest the military rule in Pakistan. Sign this petition to call for her release. Bhutto is urging the international community to stop backing President Musharraf -- who imposed emergency rule on November 3 -- and "to stop backing the man whose dictatorship threatens to engulf this nuclear-armed state in chaos." Nonetheless, President Musharraf vigorously defended the emergency rule, insisting that it would not interfere with free and fair elections. We need to act now. In Pakistan, a prolonged state of emergency will pave the way for an increase in human rights abuses, torture and even more arbitrary detentions and disappearances. Emergency powers are not above the law. Call on General Musharraf to put an end to the state of emergency and to restore constitutional rights.

Wish you could make your lifestyle Greener, but aren't sure how to begin? On the Friday after Thanksgiving, give yourself an opportunity to notice how addicted you are to the "Global Consumer Society" - see if you can set your routine up so that, on that one day, you BUY NOTHING - no malls, no sales, no gasoline, not even a latte - it's harder than it seems, and it's possible that you will find your addiction so strong that your mind won't even allow you to consider it - watch yourself sneer as you read the paragraph below - see your mind build rationales and reasons to not participate - be amazed at how resistant you are to experience even ONE day without spending money to buy SOMETHING - if you decide to try it, notice how easy it is to forget - and, if you somehow actually get to that Friday still committed, marvel at the clever ways your addiction creates you NEEDING to make a purchase or two - one way or the other, you'll learn a LOT about why things are the way they are, and how you, yourself, and your habits contribute to making and keeping them that way - you'll see what makes it all so hard to change, and understand much more about your personal power in the day-to-day situation - So c'mon - it only happens once a year - set yourself up any way you need to, to participate in: Buy Nothing Day"

Buy Nothing Day: Friday, November 23rd (from midnight, 11/22, until midnight 11/23)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buy_Nothing_Day
Buy Nothing Day is an informal day of protest against consumerism observed by social activists. In 2007, Buy Nothing Day falls on November 23rd in North America and November 24th internationally.. It was founded by Vancouver artist Ted Dave and subsequently promoted by the Canadian Adbusters magazine. The first Buy Nothing Day was organized in Vancouver in September of 1992 "as a day for society to examine the issue of over-consumption". In 1997, it was moved to the Friday after American Thanksgiving, which is one of the top 10 busiest shopping days in the United States. Outside of North America, Buy Nothing Day is celebrated on the following Saturday. Despite controversies, Adbusters managed to advertise Buy Nothing Day on CNN, but many other major television networks declined to air their ads. Soon, campaigns started appearing in United States, the United Kingdom, Israel, Germany, New Zealand, Japan, the Netherlands, and Norway. Participation now includes more than 65 nations. While critics of the day charge that Buy Nothing Day simply causes participants to buy the next day, Adbusters states that it "isn't just about changing your habits for one day" but "about starting a lasting lifestyle commitment to consuming less and producing less waste". Dolphins save surfer from becoming shark’s bait (Nov. 8, 2007)
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21689083/
Surfer Todd Endris needed a miracle. The shark — a monster great white that came out of nowhere — had hit him three times, peeling the skin off his back and mauling his right leg to the bone. That’s when a pod of bottlenose dolphins intervened, forming a protective ring around Endris, allowing him to get to shore, where quick first aid provided by a friend saved his life. “Truly a miracle,” Endris told TODAY’s Natalie Morales on Thursday. (...) No one knows why dolphins protect humans, but stories of the marine mammals rescuing humans go back to ancient Greece, according to the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society. A year ago in New Zealand, the group reports, four lifeguards were saved from sharks in the same way Endris was — by dolphins forming a protective ring. CLIP

OPEC Interested in Non-Dollar Currency (Nov 18, 2007)

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Sunday that OPEC's members have expressed interest in converting their cash reserves into a currency other than the depreciating U.S. dollar, which he called a "worthless piece of paper." His comments at the end of a rare summit of OPEC heads of state exposed fissures within the 12-member cartel — especially after U.S. ally Saudi Arabia was reluctant to mention concerns about the falling dollar in the summit's final declaration (...) Iran and Venezuela have proposed trading oil in a basket of currencies to replace the historic link to the dollar, but they had not been able to generate support from enough fellow OPEC members — many of whom, including Saudi Arabia, are staunch U.S. allies. Opec plan to impact climate meet in Bali (18 Nov 2007)
http://tinyurl.com/ynl22k
RIYADH: The announcement by Opec, the cartel of oil exporters supplying a third of the world's oil, to set up a $3 billion fund for research into carbon capture and storage, is likely to have a bearing on the major UN climate change conference at Bali a few weeks from now. Opec is expected to start with a $1 billion fund for green research, the signals for which have been all been there since the ministerial rounds preceding the 3rd Opec summit that began earlier this week. (...) The Opec fallout will impact the UN conference in Bali which is envisaged to start negotiations on a new international climate change regime and Al-Naimi will be among those attending. Thus, his statement at this juncture is significant. Many see the Bali conference as a make-or-break point for international efforts to stop the planet from getting hotter. Executive secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Yvo de Boer feels there need not be any trade-off. "International action on climate change is a war against emissions, not a war against oil... I think the debate here points to a constructive willingness to participate in international dialogue about climate change," he said during a media interaction. CLIP

OPEC to put carbon capture at heart of new green agenda (November 16, 2007)
http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5iqJZe8IdMIp6g4N0ltDy3pPHbIjg
RIYADH (AFP) — OPEC leaders are set to make carbon capture and storage the centerpiece of their new-found green agenda by urging greater use of the emerging technique to curb carbon emissions, Algeria's energy minister said Friday. Chakib Khelil, reading from a draft declaration expected to be approved at the end of an OPEC summit, said point three would be "energy and environment: carbon storage could reduce the impact of fossil fuels on climate change and developed countries have the technology on this."Earlier a source told AFP that the joint communique to be issued by OPEC leaders on Sunday would include a "big announcement on the environment."At a conference in Spain, UN experts meanwhile agreed Friday on a draft report that warns global warming may have far-reaching and irreversible consequences. The report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) encapsulates a massive overview of the global-warming problem, with the goal of guiding policymakers for the next five years.Carbon capture technology, with which oil producer Norway, a non-OPEC member, is leading the way, consists of trapping carbon dioxide and storing it long-term underground. The technology is based on removing harmful gases from major industrial activities, mainly power generation, and then storing it or injecting it into mature oilfields. It has won support from the United States and the oil industry because it potentially offers a partial solution to the climate change problem without reducing dependence on oil or curbing consumption. But it is only in the development stage and requires massive investment to make it commercially viable. Three pilot projects are operating in Algeria, Canada and the North Sea off the Norwegian coast. Some have also pointed to other drawbacks, notably that the underground storage chamber could rupture which would then release a huge bubble of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, worsening global warming at a stroke. Nevertheless, the UN's top climate change official said Thursday here that a commitment to carbon capture would be "very constructive outcome of the deliberations at the heads of state level" at the OPEC summit.

Preparing for Life After Oil (November 8, 2007)
http://www.alternet.org/module/printversion/66625
This past May, in an unheralded and almost unnoticed move, the Energy Department signaled a fundamental, near epochal shift in US and indeed world history: we are nearing the end of the Petroleum Age and have entered the Age of Insufficiency. The department stopped talking about "oil" in its projections of future petroleum availability and began speaking of "liquids." The global output of "liquids," the department indicated, would rise from 84 million barrels of oil equivalent (mboe) per day in 2005 to a projected 117.7 mboe in 2030 -- barely enough to satisfy anticipated world demand of 117.6 mboe. Aside from suggesting the degree to which oil companies have ceased being mere suppliers of petroleum and are now purveyors of a wide variety of liquid products -- including synthetic fuels derived from natural gas, corn, coal and other substances -- this change hints at something more fundamental: we have entered a new era of intensified energy competition and growing reliance on the use of force to protect overseas sources of petroleum. Pentagon Cover Up: 15,000 or more US casualties in Iraq War By Mike Whitney
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article18737.htm
The Pentagon has been concealing the true number of American casualties in the Iraq War. The real number exceeds 15,000 and CBS News can prove it. CBS’s Investigative Unit wanted to do a report on the number of suicides in the military and “submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to the Department of Defense”. After 4 months they received a document which showed--that between 1995 and 2007--there were 2,200 suicides among “active duty” soldiers. Baloney. The Pentagon was covering up the real magnitude of the “suicide epidemic”. Following an exhaustive investigation of veterans’ suicide data collected from 45 states; CBS discovered that in 2005 alone “THERE WERE AT LEAST 6,256 AMONG THOSE WHO SERVED IN THE ARMED FORCES. THAT’S 120 EACH AND EVERY WEEK IN JUST ONE YEAR.” That is not a typo. Active and retired military personnel, mostly young veterans between the ages of 20 to 24, are returning from combat and killing themselves in record numbers. We can assume that "multiple-tours of duty" in a war-zone have precipitated a mental health crisis of which the public is entirely unaware and which the Pentagon is in total denial. If we add the 6,256 suicide victims from 2005 to the “official” 3,865 reported combat casualties; we get a sum of 10,121. Even a low-ball estimate of similar 2004 and 2006 suicide figures, would mean that the total number of US casualties from the Iraq war now exceed 15,000. That’s right; 15,000 dead US servicemen and women in a war that--as yet--has no legal or moral justification. (...) The rash of suicides is the logical upshot of Bush’s war. Returning soldiers are traumatized by their experience and now they are killing themselves in droves. Maybe we should have thought about that before we invaded.

Number of children dying higher than when the country was under sanctions.
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article18734.htm
Child mortality in Iraq has spiralled because of the tense security situation, deteriorating health services and lack of medical supplies, say experts.According to a report released in May 2007 by aid agency Save the Children, “Iraq’s child mortality rate has increased by a staggering 150 per cent since 1990, more than any other country.”The report, entitled State of the World’s Mothers 2007, said that some 122,000 Iraqi children - the equivalent of one in eight - died in 2005, before reaching their fifth birthday. More than half of the deaths were among newborn babies in their first month of life. “Even before the latest war, Iraqi mothers and children were facing a grave humanitarian crisis caused by years of repression, conflict and external sanctions,” said the report.“Since 2003, electricity shortages, insufficient clean water, deteriorating health services and soaring inflation have worsened already difficult living conditions.”The study listed pneumonia and diarrhoea as major killers of children in Iraq, together accounting for over 30 per cent of child deaths.“Conservative estimates place increases in infant mortality following the 2003 invasion of Iraq at 37 per cent,” it said." The threat from terrorism does not justify slicing away our freedoms (November 15, 2007)
http://www.guardian.co.uk/Columnists/Column/0,,2211273,00.html
(...) The official information commissioner, Richard Thomas, says the country has already sleepwalked into a surveillance society. Privacy International, the human rights group which monitors surveillance societies worldwide, says Britain is the worst-performing democracy in this respect. Take a look at the map on their website (http://www.privacyinternational.org): Britain is the only country in the whole western world to be coloured black, an "endemic surveillance society", alongside communist China and Putin's Russia. The UK has more than 4 million CCTV cameras. Its national DNA database, the largest in the world, is supposed to have some 4.25 million people on it by the end of next year - or roughly one in every 14 inhabitants. According to the last published report of the interception of communications commissioner, more than 400,000 official requests were made to tap telephone calls and monitor emails in the period from January 2005 to March 2006. A staggering 795 security, police and local authority bodies are entitled to make such requests. Need I go on? At the same time, bill after bill has chipped away at our ancient rights, in the name of combatting terrorism. For centuries, habeas corpus meant you had to be charged or released after 24 hours. In 2004, that was increased to 48 hours; last year, it went up to 28 days; and the police want to push it up again. CLIP

The uninvited guest: Chinese sub pops up in middle of U.S. Navy exercise, leaving military chiefs red-faced (10th November 2007)
http://www.freedomsphoenix.com/Find-Freedom.htm?At=026539&From=News
(...) American military chiefs have been left dumbstruck by an undetected Chinese submarine popping up at the heart of a recent Pacific exercise and close to the vast U.S.S. Kitty Hawk - a 1,000ft supercarrier with 4,500 personnel on board. By the time it surfaced the 160ft Song Class diesel-electric attack submarine is understood to have sailed within viable range for launching torpedoes or missiles at the carrier.According to senior Nato officials the incident caused consternation in the U.S. Navy. The Americans had no idea China's fast-growing submarine fleet had reached such a level of sophistication, or that it posed such a threat. One Nato figure said the effect was "as big a shock as the Russians launching Sputnik" - a reference to the Soviet Union's first orbiting satellite in 1957 which marked the start of the space age. The incident, which took place in the ocean between southern Japan and Taiwan, is a major embarrassment for the Pentagon. CLIP

Somalia Worst Humanitarian Crisis in Africa, U.N. Says (November 19, 2007)
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/20/world/africa/20somalia.html
AFGOOYE, Somalia, Nov. 19 — The worst humanitarian crisis in Africa, several United Nations officials said, may not be unfolding in Darfur, but here, along a 20-mile strip of busted-up asphalt. A year ago, the road between the market town of Afgooye and the capital of Mogadishu was just another typical Somali byway, lined with overgrown cactuses and the occasional bullet-riddled building. Now it is a corridor teeming with misery, with 200,000 recently displaced people crammed into swelling camps that are rapidly running out of food. Natheefa Ali, who trudged up this road a week ago to escape the blood bath that Mogadishu has turned into, said Monday that her 10-month-old baby was so malnourished she can’t swallow. “Look,” Ms. Natheefa said, pointing to her daughter’s splotchy legs, “her skin is falling off, too.” United Nations officials said that Somalia has higher malnutrition rates, more current bloodshed and many fewer aid workers than Darfur, which is often publicized as the world’s most pressing humanitarian crisis and has taken clear priority in terms of getting United Nations-backed peacekeepers. The relentless urban combat in Mogadishu, between an unpopular transitional government — installed partially with American help — and a determined Islamist insurgency, has driven waves of desperate people up the Afgooye road, where more than 70 camps of twigs and plastic have popped up seemingly overnight. The people here are hungry, exposed, sick and dying. And the few aid organizations willing to brave a lawless, notoriously dangerous environment cannot keep up with their needs, like providing milk to the thousands of babies with fading heartbeats and bulging eyes. United Nations officials working on Somalia are trying to draw more attention to the country’s plight, which they feel has fallen into Darfur’s shadow. They have recently organized several trips, including one on Monday, for journalists to see for themselves. “The situation in Somalia is the worst on the continent,” said Ahmedou Ould-Abdallah, the top United Nations official for Somalia.“Many of these kids are going to die,” said Eric Laroche, the head of United Nations humanitarian operations in Somalia. “We don’t have the capacity to reach them.” CLIP More on Somalia through http://news.search.yahoo.com/news/search?p=somalia&c=

Somalia: What the News Failed to Report (11/18/07)
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article18743.htm
The people of Somalia are enduring yet another round of suffering as Ethiopian forces wreck havoc in the capital, Mogadishu. Apparently in response to an attack on one of its units, and the dragging of a soldier’s mutilated body through the city’s streets, an Ethiopian mortar reportedly exploded in Mogadishu’s Bakara market on November 9, killing eight civilians. A number of Somalis were also found dead the following day, some believed to have been rounded up by Ethiopian forces the night before. Nearly 50 civilians have reportedly been killed and 100 wounded in the two-day fighting spree between fighters loyal to the Union of Islamic Courts and government forces and their Ethiopian allies. A report, issued by Human Rights Watch, chastised both Ethiopian troops and ‘insurgents’ for the bloodletting. Peter Takirambudde, the watchdog’s Africa director, was quoted as saying, 'The international community should condemn these attacks and hold combatants accountable for violations of humanitarian law - including mutilating captured combatants and executing detainees.' Of course, one cannot realistically expect the international community to take on a constructive involvement in the conflict. Various members of this ‘community’ have already played a most destructive role in Somalia’s 16-year-old civil war, which fragmented a nation that had long struggled to achieve a sense of sovereignty and national cohesion. To dismiss the war in Somalia as yet another protracted conflict between warlords and insurgents would indeed be unjust because the country’s history has consistently been marred by colonial greed and unwarranted foreign interventions. These gave rise to various proxy governments, militias and local middlemen, working in the interests of those obsessed with the geopolitical importance of the Horn of Africa. (...) The last intervention devastated the country’s chances of unity. It now stands divided between the transitional government, Ethiopia (both backed by the UN, the US and the African Union) and the Islamic courts (allegedly backed by Eritrea and some Arab Gulf governments). Recently, the UN ruled out any chances for an international peacekeeping force, and the few African countries who promised troops are yet to deliver (with the exception of Uganda). This situation leaves Somalia once more under the mercy of foreign powers and self-serving internal forces, foreshadowing yet more bloodshed. Our informed support is essential now because the Somali people have suffered enough. Their plight is urgent and it deserves a much deeper understanding, alongside immediate attention.

Hundreds honour man hit by Taser at airport (Nov 18, 2007)
http://www.thestar.com/News/article/277476
Kamloops, B.C.–Hundreds of people packed a funeral home here yesterday to both grieve and express their outrage over the death of Robert Dziekanski, the Polish man who died last month at the Vancouver airport. Many of those attending the memorial service in Kamloops, the town where Dziekanski was supposed to start his new life in Canada, only knew him through the lens of a video camera.Millions of people around the world saw the video of his last moments – a panic-stricken man barricading himself into the international arrivals hall before police shot him with a Taser gun.His mother, Zofia Cisowski, wiped away her tears to quietly narrate a slideshow of Dziekanski's photographs shown during the memorial celebration of the 40-year-old man's life."That's my brother, that's my uncle, that's us," Cisowski whispered to pictures of her son, a smiling, swarthy man, arms wrapped around family in his native Poland.Cisowski had worked for seven years to save up enough money to sponsor her son.He was supposed to look after her and support her as she aged, according to Maciej Krych, Poland's consul general in Vancouver."The people in Poland are still in shock. They cannot believe something like this could happen in Canada," said Krych, who vowed that the Polish government will continue pressing the federal department of foreign affairs for answers.Dziekanski was cremated following a private funeral two weeks ago. His mother, who plans to keep part of her son's ashes with her in Kamloops and return part to Poland, said she hopes some good comes from her son's death. (...) Among the nearly 300 people who attended the memorial service, a handful were outside carrying signs urging the RCMP to ban the use of Taser guns.Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day has ordered a review of the weapon, but has resisted calls by critics galvanized by Dziekanski's death for a moratorium on the guns, which deliver 50,000 volts of electricity to their targets. Since 2002, Amnesty International, which has advocated banning Tasers, reports that 17 people have died in Canada as a result of the weapon. CLIP

'Dynastic wealth, the enemy of meritocracy, is on the rise,' Buffett told the panel. 'Equality of opportunity has been on the decline. Brings to mind the mother in California who's 17 year young son was allegedly healed of a cancer through alternative medicine. Well, she couldn't let it rest... the child ended up in a hospital for a checkup and the hospital called the police who arrested her and the hospital gave the young man chemo and radiation therapy. Now this is what I call freedom up against the wall!Where does this end? How does one get to have a say in whether or not to have mercury and other toxins injected into their children... apparently with no regard to religion or just personal sanity! This is the beginnings of literal police state. Gone are the Republics, where most of the local government had the public interest at heart. China may make democracy before we can reclaim ours. And be processing our subconscious programs and tapes that set us up for drama/trauma. We have a choice we can be bummed out and continue down that road or be in gratitude and go up that road. Think about it it really can be that simple. Now, I'm not suggesting we try a stalag or gulag, but Jack Schwartz could not be held down emotionally. He knew they could not control his emotions. He came out of the concentration camps of Germany with his head up and went on to amaze the world. We can to, without having to go through what he experienced. It is what we are choosing now and what we continue to choose. I love the line from Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, "I'd rather be happy than right".... What a concept... we can all be participating in this, 24/7. Thanks jean for your constant vigil on what is going on...God Bless you!"

Bilderberg 2007 - Towards a One World Empire?
http://www.nexusmagazine.com/articles/Bilderberg2007.html
Discussions at the 2007 Bilderberg Group meetings covered concerns over the World Bank presidency, Russia's muscle-flexing on energy issues and the failure of US-led NATO forces in Afghanistan. -- The Sun has set on Bilderberg 2007 in Istanbul, Turkey. After a sumptuous lunch on this warm and sunny 3rd June, most Bilderbergers returned to their countries of choice, freshly armed with precise instructions from the Steering Committee on how to proceed in covertly expanding the powers of One World Government. Amongst this year's luminaries in attendance were: Henry Kissinger; Henry Kravis of KKR; Marie-Josée Kravis of Hudson Institute; Vernon Jordan; Etienne Davignon, Bilderberg Group President; Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands, daughter of one of the founders, Prince Bernhard; and the King and Queen of Spain.
As a rhetorical question, can someone please explain to me how it is that progressive liberals such as John Edwards and Hillary Clinton as well as do-gooder humanitarians with multiple social projects on the go, such as David Rockefeller and every Royal House in Europe, can perennially attend Bilderberg meetings knowing that the final objective of this despicable group of hoodlums is a fascist One World Empire? How could it be orchestrated? The idea is to give to each country a political constitution and an appropriate national economic structure, organised for the following purposes: (1) to place political power into the hands of chosen people and eliminate all intermediaries; (2) to establish a maximum concentration of industries and suppress all unwarranted competition; (3) to establish absolute control of prices of all goods and raw materials (Bilderbergers make it possible through their iron-grip control of The World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the World Trade Organization); and (4) to create judicial and social institutions that would prevent all extremes of action. (...) The Bilderberg Group is not the end but the means to a future One World Government. This organisation has grown beyond its secretive beginnings to become a virtual shadow government which decides in total secrecy at annual meetings how its plans are to be carried out. The ultimate goal of this nightmare future is to transform Earth into a prison planet by bringing about a single globalised marketplace, controlled by a One World Government, policed by a United World Army, financially regulated by a World Bank, and populated by a microchipped population whose life's needs have been stripped down to materialism and survival-work, buy, procreate, sleep-all connected to a global computer that monitors our every move. And it is becoming easier because the development of telecommunications technology together with profound advances in present-day knowledge and new methods of behaviour engineering to manipulate individual conduct are converting what, in other epochs of history, were only evil intentions into a disturbing new reality. Each new measure, viewed on its own, may seem an aberration, but a whole host of changes, as part of an ongoing continuum, constitutes a shift towards total enslavement. But there is hope. In almost every corner of the planet, stress points are beginning to fracture and people are starting to take sides. There is a general awakening taking place as people hold mirrors up to the irrationality that's being imposed upon them. This awakening is beginning to empower our collective learning and understanding. You see, the powers-that-be have told us that world events are too difficult for the layperson to understand. They lied! We have been told that national secrets must be zealously protected. Indeed, they must! No government wants its citizens to discover that its best and brightest participate in massive collusion, conspiracy and pillaging of the planet. Now, as the year 2007 unfolds, we find ourselves at the crossroads. The road we take from here will determine the very future of humanity and whether we will become an electronic global police state or remain free human beings. We must always remember that it is not up to God to bring us back from the "New Dark Age" planned for us. It is up to us. Forewarned is forearmed. We will never find the right answers if we don't ask the right questions.

New Method Converts Organic Matter To Hydrogen Fuel Easily And Efficiently

"First you need to break cellulose down to sugars and then bacteria can convert them to ethanol." Yellowstone Is Rising on Swollen "Supervolcano"
http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/11/071108-yellowstone.html
Yellowstone National Park is rising. Its central region, called the Yellowstone caldera, has been moving upward since mid-2004 at a rate of up to three inches (seven centimeters) a year—more than three times faster than has ever been measured. The surface is inflating like a bellows due to an infusion of magma about 6 miles (10 kilometers) underground, according to a new study published in tomorrow's issue of the journal Science. But that doesn't mean Yellowstone is about to go the way of Mount St. Helens." There's no evidence of an imminent eruption or hydrothermal explosion," said Robert Smith, a geophysics professor at the University of Utah who co-authored the study."Supervolcano" Under YellowstoneYellowstone is situated on a giant, geologically active feature known as a supervolcano."It's hundreds of times bigger than Mount St. Helens," Smith said, referring to the active volcano in Washington State. Much of the park sits in a caldera, or crater, some 40 miles (70 kilometers) across, which formed when the cone of the massive volcano collapsed in a titanic eruption 640,000 years ago. The supervolcano has produced three similarly large blasts in the past two million years, with 30 smaller eruptions since the caldera formed. The volcano's most recent flare-up was 70,000 years ago, and volcanic heat continues to fuel the park's famous geysers and hot springs.

Surfer Dude Stuns Physicists With Theory of Everything (14/11/2007)

An impoverished surfer has drawn up a new theory of the universe, seen by some as the Holy Grail of physics, which has received rave reviews from scientists. (...) Although the work of 39 year old Garrett Lisi still has a way to go to convince the establishment, let alone match the achievements of Albert Einstein, the two do have one thing in common: Einstein also began his great adventure in theoretical physics while outside the mainstream scientific establishment, working as a patent officer, though failed to achieve the Holy Grail, an overarching explanation to unite all the particles and forces of the cosmos. Now Lisi, currently in Nevada, has come up with a proposal to do this. Lee Smolin at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, describes Lisi's work as "fabulous". "It is one of the most compelling unification models I've seen in many, many years," he says. "Although he cultivates a bit of a surfer-guy image its clear he has put enormous effort and time into working the complexities of this structure out over several years," Prof Smolin tells The Telegraph. Subject: Re: The Writing on the Wall Series #54: Glimmers of Hope Amidst Gloomy Forecasts

Dear Jean,

I am writing to you from Aotearoa, New Zealand, with much gratitude for all you do. I read with interest your observation of people, who may have a hard time with the less savory aspects of our reality. I have to admit, as it is beyond my own conscience-ness, some topics such as strategic genocide are difficult to absorb. It's almost surreal to know that there is a power so mad in greed that can cause so much pain & grief. But knowing the truth exposes all unto light, so the healing begins. If I find the material hard to absorb, I remind my self of the human spirit/s that is living/or lived the monstrous experience. They have lived the experience to expose the atrocities. We all must have the courage to receive the truth, expose the darkness for the weakness it truly is, all in compassion & in Unity.

For Peace,

Hine

Dearest Jean,

Just a brief note to express my infinite gratitude to you. I am constantly amazed that one who compiles the outrageous reports of darkness enveloping our world is also a brilliant conduit for sharing the highest truths.

I have loved these letters ever since you mentioned them and I went to the web site about a year ago. I have been hoping for another one recently; I don’t know whether this one is new or recycled (NOTE: It is a brand new message!), but it is certainly a magnificent recipe for peace, within and without. I have long been suspicious of the current popularity of the Law of Attraction, believing that there are far more powerful forces than our conscious minds shaping our futures––even if they are within ourselves, they are certainly within ourSelves and not obvious for us to access with our daily mind of desire. These letters resound with truth.

But I also want to appreciate you, for your great Mission of service throughout the years. You do not often hear from me, but I and countless people like me rely on you, for the back story on the news, for reports from the realms so few can access, and for your weekly meditations and global prayers. Of course, we are all unique, each with our special role to play at this crucial moment on our planet. But you serve us all, with perfect generosity and love, and I bow to you, dear soul.

May Peace Prevail on Earth!

In love and light,

Deborah

AND MY REPLY WAS:

Thanks for your challenging question Bonnie.

If I could, I would only send Light-oriented stuff believe me! Nevertheless, this is a necessary balancing act I feel I have to carry on - striving to highlight the positive signs ahead while keeping an eye on the rear-view mirror to make sure the chaos doesn't catch up with us.

Yet I know that soon we will be able to confidently only look ahead and let the past fade away as we pick up steam in our Mission of Redemption...

I would be happy to hear your view on this - same thing for everyone else tickled with this line of questioning...

The common wisdom in us all is what should guide us ahead in this, me thinks... along with a little Help from our many friends beyond this sphere of existence...

With Love

Jean

AND BONNIE REPLIED

What is happening now is, on one level at least, simply an effect created by our past thoughts, words and deeds.

Then the light shines in the darkness and the darkness is illuminated.

Blessings,

Bonnie

AND THE RECORDER OF CHRIST'S MESSAGES WHO HAD RECEIVED A COPY OF MY REPLY TO BONNIE VOLUNTEERED THIS IMPORTANT COMMENT ON THIS KEY ISSUE...

May I, the Recorder of Christ's words, be allowed to join in the debate?

First of all, I must point out that Christ descends in frequencies of vibration to be able to review our condition and to reach my mind. We live in the world of effects. We are the created. Christ speaks from the dimension of creativity and causation.

He has intervened at this time when we are facing huge world upheavals and disturbances, to help us to pull ourselves out of the mental-emotional morass we have created of ourselves. He has shown us clearly how this may be done.

In his Letters and in his latest Message, he has told us how the manifestation of 'matter' and events come about.

We create an electrical blueprint with our mind imagery and, with our emotions (fear or faith), magnetically fill in the blueprint and bring it into visible form. Or, we may just give added power to whatever it is we fear. The tools of the Creator and CONSCIOUSNESS are the directives of mental/emotional electromagnetism. This is an electromagnetic world made visible through the exercise of our thoughts and feelings. At the back of it all is the original ENERGY giving LIFE energy to everything taking on form. This energy transcends electromagnetism. It is the energy in the space of the atom.

When Yuri Geller bent his spoons, he simply said: 'Bend' and the spoons bent. I saw them for myself. He said to the broken watches: Work' and they worked. With mental effort, I have caused a broken watch to work again. Some people can cause objects on a table to move just by mind power. Whatever the command is - it is always obeyed - spoons bent, they did not twist, watches worked, healers heal, they never cause worse problems.

Consciousness - whether Divine or human - is the causation of everything in the world.

Therefore, if you have fearful people all predicting things which may not happen and frequently do not happen, you have a great deal of negative consciousness energies lying around waiting to happen.

Christ never says: 'You must.' Throughout the years I have experienced his presence, he has only pointed out the way to go if I'm seeking well-being and peace. In the final analysis, it is I who have had to make the choices. The one time I ignored his advice and followed my own way.... it was a long and painful way back again.

Recorder (christsway@mweb.co.za)

AND THEN SUZANNE WARD WHO ALSO RECEIVED A Cc OF MY REPLY TO BONNIE SENT THIS:

Jean, Matthew would like to say a bit here:

"Dear soul Jean, this is Matthew greeting you and your readers. I wish to say only a few words about the thought forms that each of you creates by the intensity of your focus on any situation. Being truthfully informed is wise, but do not let your knowledge pull you into the energy of events that are ending third density's darkness. An investment of emotions and intense thoughts about those events keeps their momentum going, just as the energy of your emotions and thoughts about what you want in your world adds momentum to the light that is ushering in a glorious era on Earth. Stay steadfast in the light-love that is most powerful force in the cosmos, knowing that countless souls in spirit and in body soon will be rejoicing with you because your most radiant visions have become the reality that you were born to create."

FINALLY BONNIE MENTIONED in reply to this invitation from me:

Hi Jean,

Thank you once again for your interesting/inspiring/thought-provoking compilation. You make a sterling contribution to global change and awakening!

I have recently discovered a brilliant website http://www.transformationteam.net

As they say, "when the pupil is ready . . . " They have a 21 Lesson Course which one can follow - it is free, although, of course, one can make a donation - and one can take as long as necessary to complete the entire course. They ask specifically that one does not do more than one lesson per day. I am very curious and love to push on with whatever I am doing, but the material is so comprehensive, with so many links that it is really not possible to do it justice or to digest even a portion of what is on offer if one does not take one's time. Support Our Troops? Which Troops Would Those Be?

I see the ribbons on the SUV’s parked at the mall. I pass the SUV’s and then the be-medalled military veterans with their trays of plastic poppy flowers outside the doors of stores. Or be-trayed military cadets, fresh-faced, polished buttons, and unaware what their social club is leading them into. I say to them all, no, I refuse to support any form of death and destruction, whether it be past, present or future. I receive blank stares.

Going back to my car I pass the SUV’s again. I feel like climbing on top of one and yelling what I know to be true, to the assembled vehicles and shoppers. I know what they’d all do. They’d pretend I wasn’t there, that they weren’t hearing what they did hear and drive away as fast as they could, back to their mind-numbing tv, games and newspapers. Perhaps a little web surfing away from the attention of wives and mothers, a little gratuitous soft porn or violence.

Ok then, though, which troops would those be that these numbskulls want us to support?

Would it be the large percentage of homeless war vets in US cities? Oh no, say the naysayers, they aren’t troops any more. Oh, really? Isn’t that the same as saying that they don’t matter once they’ve finished fighting? Which is the truth, evidenced by the lack of treatment for many returning vets with physical and mental problems.

Would it be the gang members, drug addicts and lesser-intelligence troops who are being recruited in the US now because many young people are waking up and seeing through the recruitment sham?

Would it be the troops in action who raped an Iraqi teenage girl after murdering her family and then setting fire to her body, all fuelled by alcohol?

Would it be the lying military recruiters themselves? Do they really believe what they are telling the kids? Surely not. Advice on how to avoid refusal due to drug addiction. To use the UK term, jobsworths with buzzcuts.

Would it be the troops who dress up as Iraqis and partake in false-flag operations, bombing people and mosques to implicate “the enemy”?

Would it be the troops who carried out orders to storm the prison where the false-flag soldiers were held, and get them out?

Would it be the troops who, for fear of reprisal, dare not refuse to obey orders that contravene the Geneva Convention?

Would it be the troops who are experts in torture and appear to enjoy it?

Would it mean the Graners of this world?

Would it be the few who have stood up and repudiated the evil for which the military is being used?

And what about troops of daze of yore? Those who, in the words of Smedley Butler, went to fight thinking they were patriotic but in face were fighting an induced war for the profit of the big corporations?

Do your homework.

Come on, challenge me; tell me which troops you mean, you ribbon bearers. Your ribbons are plastic. That says it all.

CHALLENGING QUESTIONS THAT BEG AN ANSWER...

Date: 12 Nov 2007
From: Ariel Ky (gemstonedeva@yahoo.com)
Subject: Responsibility of U.S. Citizens for their Government's Actions in Waging War and Torture

Jean,

Thank you again for the Herculean effort you put forth to keep readers informed. I am submitting the following essay for inclusion in a future compilation, if you want to post it. (I realize it is rather long. I am posting it at my blog, which you can refer people to instead: akad.tumblr.com.

I have been thinking a lot about how responsible U.S. citizens are for the conduct of the U.S. in the world today, specifically for the wars being waged in Iraq and Afghanistan and the use of torture of prisoners held in prisons and detention centers in over a hundred countries. I am a U.S. citizen who has left my country because I do not support what the government is doing, nor what the country has become, which is certainly no longer any form of democracy of the people, for the people, and by the people, if it ever was. Should Americans be held accountable for the actions of a government that fights wars when they want peace? Especially when they feel powerless to stop the government?

Can a people be held responsible when they have continually been lied to by the media and politicians? Can a people be held responsible for corruption of all the institutions in their country? Can a people be held responsible when there has been an extensive program of mind control and manipulation of the truth by all the mass media?

If people are guilty of apathy, passivity, complacency, and fear of losing what they have worked to attain as they may lose their job and jeopardize their income if they speak out or show anger or seem too political, it doesn't seem so terrible on the face of it. If people decide politics is too dirty or distressing for them to get very involved, such naivete may be distressing, but it's not quite the same as actively carrying out harm to other people. If people decide to devote themselves to their family and a small circle of friends rather than being involved politically, is that so reprehensible?

There is great diversity among Americans. The truly ugly Americans who are hateful, ambitious, ruthlessly aggressive, greedy, arrogant and willing to kill others in wars so that they can go on making lots of money and having more than other people in the world have always been a minority, even if they sometimes seem the most vocal and powerful today.

As I have networked over the Internet with people from other countries, I have put together a very different picture of the U.S. than the mythology we are taught about our country. What I have come to realize is that the U.S. has always pursued aggressive wars to open markets in other countries and that the economic system of capitalism is not so much twinned to democracy as it is to militarism. Democracy only works when people work it; there has been far too little involvement of citizens exercising the responsibility of staying informed and voting to make it work. Consequently, the U.S. has not evolved into a country of more freedom, but one of less and less liberty.

Freedom and human rights for everyone are incompatible with basic erroneous principles that most people in the U.S. have agreed to: 1) that profit is the bottomline, never the commonweal (and certainly not protection of the environment, especially if you can move your production to developing countries and pollute them instead of your own), 2) that you can pretty much do whatever you want to if you have enough money (and damned little if you don't), and 3) that the violent use of force as a country (the military option) is justifiable if it succeeds in meeting your goals. As long as most people subscribe to these ideas, nothing will improve, because these are the working principles that govern the present conduct of the U.S. While ruthless aggression and the use of violence is seen as inevitable and normal, the country follows a downward spiral away from the higher good of all.

There is little all-inclusive community left anywhere in the U.S. Our car culture and computers have contributed to destroying in large degree our sense of connectivity with the larger community. The newspaper wars of the past thirty years have left all major cities with only one big daily newspaper --always the largely conservative voice of the wealthy-- which has also led to the deterioration of a sense of community that includes everyone. On the Internet, people usually only dialogue with other like-minded people. Differences do not usually get resolved, not even through the courts, only managed. The net result has been a loss of community and a dangerous disconnection with other people.

The mass media disinforms people and without knowing the truth, they collectively grow detached from reality. Last year I engaged in a daily dialogue with my students in Europe about the war in Iraq. When I returned to the U.S. last summer, almost nobody was discussing it and I could not get anyone to sustain a conversation about it for more than a minute or two. The mass insanity of people carrying on their lives as though no war was being fought was truly mind boggling.

I could go on and on with how I have considered many aspects of this issue of culpability. I now live in China, which is breaking free of the fetters of a repressive era, opening to the world in a process that is exciting to witness. From this vantage point, the U.S. seems to be mired in as repressive a totalitarianism as the Chinese suffered in the cultural revolution. Were the Chinese people responsible for what their government did to them? Are any people truly responsible for conditions when they have succumbed to fear? Are the American people responsible for what their government is doing, not only to them, but to people in other countries and all over the world?

After going round and round on this, what I have concluded is that if the American people are not responsible for what their government or military does, then who is? Who is better situated to hold it accountable for its actions? Therefore, I challenge each and every person in the U.S. to examine their hearts and souls to ask themselves if they are passively contributing to the murder and torture of people in other countries by the military and intelligence agencies of their country, and if there is truly any justification for the wars being fought in Iraq and Afghanistan, and possibly coming up, a war in Iran.

I challenge each and every person reading this to consider what you can do differently if you do not want to be complicit in the pursuit of empire of the U.S. today. Do you really want to cooperate with the megalomania of leaders of this country in attempting to force U.S. rule over the entire world? Is there any way you might express your voice and build community that can bring about effective change?

ELABORATE, POIGNANT ARGUMENTS AGAINST THE FOLLY OF WAR AND THE COMPLICIT SILENCE OF CHURCH AUTHORITIES ABOUT IT.

From: Stan Penner (stanp@mts.net)
Subject: WAR AND THE CONFESSING CHRISTIAN

WAR AND THE CONFESSING CHRISTIAN

My concern lies with war and the terrible toll it takes on human lives. Most people want peace and yet hundreds of billions of dollars a year are spent on weapons worldwide - money that could be used to help people instead of money used to kill and injure them. When a cousin of mine was in Japan he was repeatedly asked, "What are you doing for peace?" Some years ago, I met a former World War II Canadian Army warrant officer. With tears in his eyes, he wondered out loud as to how many German children he had orphaned. He had rigged up a heavy gun on his army carrier and had snuffed out as many German men's lives as possible. "I was a very good shot," he chokingly told me. Are we, the followers of Jesus Christ, blessed because we are peacemakers in this war-torn world? (See Matt. 5:9) Are we the salt and light that we should be or are we as Christ's Church just as guilty or even more guilty than others in instigating and maintaining the wars on the face of this earth?

According to a paper in my possession (see also Charles Colson's book, Kingdoms in Conflict) some sixty years ago, at Barmen-Wuppertal, in Germany, a small group of Christians, in a confessional statement, set themselves against the war, racial, and other policies of Adolph Hitler. They were told in no uncertain terms that they were wrong. Both fellow citizens and fellow Christians assured the Barmen believers that Hitler was a real saviour, not the enemy of God but God's emissary. Had the Church in Germany as a whole adopted the Barmen confession the world could have been spared untold suffering. Hitler would hardly have risked war if he had known that the Church would not back him. Some time ago, on 100 Huntley Street, a Christian TV program, a "Christian" Jew spoke. His father had been taken away and killed by three Germans; one a Catholic, one a Lutheran, and one a Pentecostal. (The speaker had the grace to call them backslidden.) But is this the way for the Christian? Do we who are the followers of the Prince of Peace simply commit any and all atrocities that our government wants us to do or do we draw the line somewhere? Many Christians hold to a so-called "Just War" theory but when it comes to actual war, most Christians simply side with their own land. Some believers who have refused to take up arms have been terribly persecuted for it and some have been put to death. Somehow I feel that this is the Jesus' way: die rather than kill. That's what He did. Are we not to be like He was?

What was the position of the early Christians in regard to war? "Robert M. Grant, the distinguished historian and author of Augustine to Constantine: The Thrust of the Christian Movement into the Roman World (Harper & Row, 1970), says: "Early Christian theologians condemned murder and cited war as prime instance. Manuals of church discipline refused to allow for the possibility of military service and insisted that upon conversion a soldier had to leave the army." (Jon Bonk, The World at War The Church at Peace, Kindred Press, Winnipeg, MB., 1988, p.19.)

The Sermon on the Mount (and many other teachings of Jesus) with verses such as, "You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, in order that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven:" (Matt. 5:43-45a) had left their mark. Paul had told them, "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." (Romans 12:21}.

What do military men themselves say? Well, we know it varies but one, Omar Bradley, a U.S. five-star general, Known as the "GI's general" and field commander of 1.3 million men during the Second World War has said, "As far as I am concerned, war itself is immoral." (Maclean's, April 20,1981) Surely we as Christians should take up a cry such as this!

Farley Mowat, now a naturalist, a writer, and a former Canadian soldier who participated in the carnage of the Second World War, writes as follows in his book AND NO BIRDS SANG: "Let it be said then that I wrote this book in the absolute conviction that there never has been, nor ever can be a "good" or worthwhile war... So awful that through three decades I kept the deeper agonies of it wrapped in the cotton-wool of protective forgetfulness... but could not, because the Old Lie--temporarily discredited by the Vietnam debacle--is once more gaining credence; a whisper which soon may become another strident shout urging us on to mayhem. Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori!* Spawned in Hell long before Homer sanctified it, and goading men to madness and destruction ever since, that Old Lie has to be put down!" (McClelland et al, Toronto, 1979, pages 195-196).

Pierre Berton, a Canadian soldier, an officer, and also a renowned author, describes the battle of Vimy Ridge in gruesome detail in his book, Vimy. In conclusion he asks, "Was it worth it?" The battle had cost thousands of limbs, eyes, and lives on both sides. Even relatives had been pitted against each other in this terrible slaughter and, much after the war, as an old German soldier and the son of a Canadian soldier talk about this they agree that the war had been "a terrible waste of human life brought on by greedy people and tolerated for too long by silent majorities." To the question, "Was it worth it?" the answer is very clear- "No." (McClelland et al, Toronto, 1986, pages 307-308}.

Why is it Bradley, Mowat, and Berton who have to say this, why not the Church per se? Do churches have blinders on their eyes as to the antithesis of war and the Christ of the Gospels? Loving care for those on the "other" side is put on the shelf and war is supported by many of the very people who carry, or at least are to carry, the image of the Prince of Peace. Jesus talks about stones crying out if certain voices would be silenced and it seems to me that this is what is happening in regard to a peace witness. Far too often, the Church refuses to preach peace and others are taking up the cry. A case in point would be modern school textbooks. Often people in the upper echelons of education, nowadays, are trying hard to make the next generation of young people see the folly of war on this rather fragile "spaceship earth." One Junior High book carries the story of the founder of the Red Cross, Henry Dunant. In the course of doing business with an Emperor, Dunant stumbled upon a battlefield littered with bodies and with mortally wounded French and Austrian soldiers. Dunant got the Red Cross movement going but later hated all mankind because of the cruelties he had seen at Solferino. Another school book tells of a Japanese girl who desperately wants to live but cannot because the atom bomb disease (leukemia) took her away. The story ends with a prayer, "This is our cry, this is our prayer; Peace in our world."

The Church should call war what it is: it is horrible; it is brutish; it is fiendish. But no! The Church far too often blesses the tanks, the cannons, the bayonets, and, in some cases, possibly even the hydrogen bombs. What preachers have said in support of their country's military would fill volumes.

I honestly feel that it is wrong to kill my fellow man even when my own country is at war. At such times I appeal to a higher authority, God Himself, and say with Peter and the other apostles, "We must obey God rather than men! "(Acts 5:29).

And please don't get me wrong. I think that soldiers have been brave without end, they have sacrificed as no one should have had to sacrifice, and they have done countless acts of heroism. To be honest, though, we must admit that the "other" side's soldiers did more or less the same. This was brought out very forcefully in a movie I watched on television, "All's Quiet on the Western Front." The sad part is that the braver and the more dedicated a soldier is, the more suffering he would generally inflict on the other side.

Sometimes in my mind's eye I can "see" a bayonet thrust into another man's stomach or I can see a small child lying with legs blown off etc. etc. Years ago, when my father and I operated a pulpwood and logging operation in Northern Manitoba, a neighbour one night shot and killed his son (around twenty years of age). At the request of the R.C.M.P. I went to identify the body. I can still see him lying on that cold floor, dead, his mouth wide open, his arm behind his head-a very unpleasant sight. Countless soldiers have done this to each other and why? They were sent by their governments and often by "Christian" governments on both sides. England and France had a "Hundred Year's War." Even Canada and the United States have been at war. Surely the Church can do better than to simply support each and every conflict governments get themselves into. The CANADIAN WAR AMPS stress the words NEVER AGAIN. They have seen and experienced the horrors of war. One old soldier who was interviewed on their program, on being shown an "enemy" soldier's grave showed no hatred but commented something like, "Just another good soldier." This old soldier well knew that the soldiers on the "other" side weren't all the heinous monsters that war propaganda says they are. They too were the precious sons of their mothers, brothers to doting sisters, with sweethearts and wives at home. They, too, desperately wanted to come home-alive.

We are shocked and outraged when someone is murdered and we absolutely should be, but isn't it somewhat strange how as soon as it's called war many people and even many Christians are ready to do mass "murdering" themselves or at least have others do it. Imagine what happens when huge bombs fall on a heavily populated area (like in London, England or in Dresden, Germany in World War Two). Men, women, and children are burned alive, they are blown to smithereens, they are horribly maimed, unborn babies are aborted, mutilated, torn apart, etc., etc. Many people who ordinarily are dead set against abortion seem to shrug it off as long as it is done under the guise of war. Isn't it time that we confess that we have sinned horribly because of all the warring that we have done and that we allow Christ to give us a heart of love for all people-even for those who happen to live across some political border?

I truly feel that as followers of the Prince of Peace we must work for peace, both spiritual and physical. I read a poster that suggests a modest proposal for peace: LET THE CHRISTIANS OF THE WORLD AGREE THAT THEY WILL NOT KILL EACH OTHER. May I quickly add: LET THE CHRISTIANS OF THE WORLD AGREE THAT THEY WILL NOT KILL THEIR FELLOWMAN.

I am sure that most people would agree with what I've said as long as it is applied to the "other" side. If only the other side would follow the teachings of Jesus then things would be just great, but miracles can start to happen when we go by the old saying, "Charity begins at home." Let's work together to further Christ's kingdom. As Christians, instead of being involved in the horrendous deeds of war, let's be involved in works of mercy and thus be instruments of peace** instead of instruments of war. This is a tall order, and especially so when our own country is at war. With God's help, and our wanting to do so, this does, and will continue to happen. Somehow I think we could turn the world "upside down" if we Christians did this consistently. My prayer is that God will give us the courage, the strength, and the love to do this.

Sincerely,

Stan Penner

"Strike against war, for without you no battles can be fought! Strike against manufacturing shrapnel and gas bombs and all other tools of murder! Strike against preparedness that means death and misery to millions of human beings! Be not dumb, obedient slaves in an army of destruction! Be heroes in an army of construction!"

- Helen Keller

"The loud little handful will shout for war. The pulpit will warily and cautiously protest at first. The great mass of the nation will rub its sleepy eyes, and will try to make out why there should be a war, and they will say earnestly and indignantly: 'It is unjust and dishonorable and there is no need for war.' Then the few will shout even louder. Before long you will see a curious thing: anti-war speakers will be stoned from the platform, and free speech will be strangled by hordes of furious men who still agree with the speakers but dare not admit it... Next, statesmen will invent cheap lies, putting blame upon the nation that is attacked, and every man will be glad of those conscience-soothing falsities, and will diligently study them, and refuse to examine any refutations of them; and thus he will by and by convince himself that the war is just, and will thank God for the better sleep he enjoys after this process of grotesque self-deception."

Riot equipped cops, wielding riot sticks, shooting pepper spray bullets, pepper spray, and, according to some accounts, two concussion grenades, moved to clear a road of 30 women who were courageously and peacefully sitting in the street to block the arms shipments. After attacking the women who were sitting in, the riot cops moved against the demonstration of about 200 people that was behind the women in the street. Protestors remained in the street until police had finally cleared the way for their cargos of death, at about 1 in the morning. Only a Mass Movement Can Halt These Endless Wars By Kenneth J. Theisen (10-16-07)

Many people think the Bush regime is politically weakened and will no longer be able to achieve its political agenda, particularly in regard to the Iraq war. Millions also have the illusion that after the 2008 elections that the U.S. military will finally withdraw from that beleaguered country. But the Bush regime is currently expanding the size of the U.S. military, and the leading Democratic presidential contenders are not likely to remove the U.S. military presence in Iraq if they are elected. On September 27, 2007, Defense Secretary Robert Gates stated he is likely to approve an army proposal to expand the size of the army. At a Department of Defense press conference, Gates said, “I’m probably going to recommend they go ahead and give it a try. I’m inclined to approve it.” (...) We must stop the madness of the Bush regime. But we cannot rely on the Democrats to do so. They have shown us repeatedly that they support the Bush wars by authorizing hundreds of billions of dollars to finance them. Only a mass movement can halt these endless wars that were initiated by the Bush regime and its enablers, the Democrats in congress. We can’t wait until 2008, we must declare it now!

Blessings, Jean. Thank you for being and doing this awesome task of getting the news out there where we can read and make decisions... For it is through individual choices that the future is created. It is suggested that time only exists in the past...the future is available for what ever we want...however, if the majority of people have their heads in the sand then the prevailing insanity will be what we all get.

This article is beyond a doubt worthy of our individual consideration. Even if it has already been read once... read it again. If you have been awake, you will notice that everything in this article is true. Therefore, we must wake up more people to the awareness of what is going on. We must send this to everyone...

http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,,2064157,00.html#article_continue

There are some more radical (?) thoughts that it is already too late, others are looking to see if there is a "state of emergency" this coming spring that will allow the fulfillment of this insanity.

Carlos Castenada said that the ultimate test of a person of power was to have the opportunity to confront a really good petty tyrant....like the conquistadors who had swords and guns...the Indians of Mexico did not. Carlos suggests that those toltecs (persons of power) managed to slip through the conquistador "road blocks" by becoming Catholic priests. Thereby, becoming what the Spaniards recognized as "their kind" of powerful people. What?- do you think you could actually pull off appearing to be a republican right wing christian fundamentalist? I wonder will they be carrying a "card" as in card carrying?

What do we do... do we flee? Do we think we can hide? Or do we continue to work our process and become so good at moving our personal subconscious programs/tapes that we are invisible in plain sight... How do a people get ready for some one in any way similar to the major fascists history has shown us? And if we are good quiet children will we be allowed to "live" in their society? Yikes!

What will be the criteria for who is rounded up? What race or ethnic group or how much education determines status? We know people who have already decided to leave... question is where to go? The Jews of Europe had plenty of opportunity to escape... they did not really believe it was happening until it was too late.

This is a very well written article. Naomi Wolfe has done her research and has some remarkable Angels with her... protecting her (so far) and letting her work get out. Notice this was published about America in a British newspaper.

It is worth reading ...not to create a bummer, but to be awake, aware and the opportunity to be more conscious.... Process your stuff !!! Holy Yikes! And if you don't know how.. contact us...

Beloved Jean, brother in the struggle to lift our Light into those dark corners of our world, thank you for your invaluable work!

Perhaps your readers would enjoy seeing this address given recently by a public figure in a state not known for its democratic or "left wing" politics. It gives me some hope!

Address by Mayor Ross C. "Rocky" Anderson on October 27, 2007

Salt Lake City, Utah -

Today, as we come together once again in this great city, we raise our voices in unison to say to President Bush, to Vice President Cheney, to other members of the Bush Administration (past and present), to a majority of Congress, including Utah's entire congressional delegation, and to much of the mainstream media: "You have failed us miserably and we won't take it any more."

"While we had every reason to expect far more of you, you have been pompous, greedy, cruel, and incompetent as you have led this great nation to a moral, military, and national security abyss."

"You have breached trust with the American people in the most egregious ways. You have utterly failed in the performance of your jobs. You have undermined our Constitution, permitted the violation of the most fundamental treaty obligations, and betrayed the rule of law."

"You have engaged in, or permitted, heinous human rights abuses of the sort never before countenanced in our nation's history as a matter of official policy. You have sent American men and women to kill and be killed on the basis of lies, on the basis of shifting justifications, without competent leadership, and without even a coherent plan for this monumental blunder."

"We are here to tell you: We won't take it any more!"

"You have acted in direct contravention of values that we, as Americans who love our country, hold dear. You have deceived us in the most cynical, outrageous ways. You have undermined, or allowed the undermining of, our constitutional system of checks and balances among the three presumed co-equal branches of government. You have helped lead our nation to the brink of fascism, of a dictatorship contemptuous of our nation's treaty obligations, federal statutory law, our Constitution, and the rule of law."

"Because of you, and because of your jingoistic false 'patriotism,' our world is far more dangerous, our nation is far more despised, and the threat of terrorism is far greater than ever before.

It has been absolutely astounding how you have committed the most horrendous acts, causing such needless tragedy in the lives of millions of people, yet you wear your so-called religion on your sleeves, asserting your God-is-on-my-side nonsense - when what you have done flies in the face of any religious or humanitarian tradition. Your hypocrisy is mind-boggling - and disgraceful. What part of "Thou shalt not kill" do you not understand? What part of the "Golden rule" do you not understand? What part of "be honest," "be responsible," and "be accountable" don't you understand? What part of "Blessed are the peacekeepers" do you not understand?

Because of you, hundreds of thousands of people have been killed, many thousands of people have suffered horrendous lifetime injuries, and millions have been run off from their homes. For the sake of our nation, for the sake of our children, and for the sake of our brothers and sisters around the world, we are morally compelled to say, as loudly as we can, 'We won't take it any more!' "

"As United States agents kidnap, disappear, and torture human beings around the world, you justify, you deceive, and you cover up. We find what you have done to men, women and children, and to the good name and reputation of the United States, so appalling, so unconscionable, and so outrageous as to compel us to call upon you to step aside and allow other men and women who are competent, true to our nation's values, and with high moral principles to stand in your places - for the good of our nation, for the good of our children, and for the good of our world."

In the case of the President and Vice President, this means impeachment and removal from office, without any further delay from a complacent, complicit Congress, the Democratic majority of which cares more about political gain in 2008 than it does about the vindication of our Constitution, the rule of law, and democratic accountability.

It means the election of people as President and Vice President who, unlike most of the presidential candidates from both major parties, have not aided and abetted in the perpetration of the illegal, tragic, devastating invasion and occupation of Iraq. And it means the election of people as President and Vice President who will commit to return our nation to the moral and strategic imperative of refraining from torturing human beings.

In the case of the majority of Congress, it means electing people who are diligent enough to learn the facts, including reading available National Intelligence Estimates, before voting to go to war. It means electing to Congress men and women who will jealously guard Congress's sole prerogative to declare war. It means electing to Congress men and women who will not submit like vapid lap dogs to presidential requests for blank checks to engage in so-called preemptive wars, for legislation permitting warrantless wiretapping of communications involving US citizens, and for dangerous, irresponsible, saber-rattling legislation like the recent Kyl-Lieberman amendment.

We must avoid the trap of focusing the blame solely upon President Bush and Vice-President Cheney. This is not just about a few people who have wronged our country - and the world. They were enabled by members of both parties in Congress, they were enabled by the pathetic mainstream news media, and, ultimately, they have been enabled by the American people - 40% of whom are so ill-informed they still think Iraq was behind the 9/11 attacks - a people who know and care more about baseball statistics and which drunken starlets are wearing underwear than they know and care about the atrocities being committed every single day in our name by a government for which we need to take responsibility.

As loyal Americans, without regard to political partisanship - as veterans, as teachers, as religious leaders, as working men and women, as students, as professionals, as businesspeople, as public servants, as retirees, as people of all ages, races, ethnic origins, sexual orientations, and faiths - we are here to say to the Bush administration, to the majority of Congress, and to the mainstream media: "You have violated your solemn responsibilities. You have undermined our democracy, spat upon our Constitution, and engaged in outrageous, despicable acts. You have brought our nation to a point of immorality, inhumanity, and illegality of immense, tragic, unprecedented proportions."

"But we will live up to our responsibilities as citizens, as brothers and sisters of those who have suffered as a result of the imperial bullying of the United States government, and as moral actors who must take a stand: And we will, and must, mean it when we say 'We won't take it any more.'"

If we want principled, courageous elected officials, we need to be principled, courageous, and tenacious ourselves. History has demonstrated that our elected officials are not the leaders - the leadership has to come from us. If we don't insist, if we don't persist, then we are not living up to our responsibilities as citizens in a democracy - and our responsibilities as moral human beings. If we remain silent, we signal to Congress and the Bush administration - and to candidates running for office - and to the world - that we support the status quo.

Silence is complicity. Only by standing up for what's right and never letting down can we say we are doing our part.

Our government, on the basis of a campaign we now know was entirely fraudulent, attacked and militarily occupied a nation that posed no danger to the United States. Our government, acting in our name, has caused immense, unjustified death and destruction.

It all started five years ago, yet where have we, the American people, been? At this point, we are responsible. We get together once in a while at demonstrations and complain about Bush and Cheney, about Congress, and about the pathetic news media. We point fingers and yell a lot. Then most people politely go away until another demonstration a few months later.

How many people can honestly say they have spent as much time learning about and opposing the outrages of the Bush administration as they have spent watching sports or mindless television programs during the past five years? Escapist, time-sapping sports and insipid entertainment have indeed become the opiate of the masses.

Why is this country so sound asleep? Why do we abide what is happening to our nation, to our Constitution, to the cause of peace and international law and order? Why are we not doing all in our power to put an end to this madness?

We should be in the streets regularly and students should be raising hell on our campuses. We should be making it clear in every way possible that apologies or convoluted, disingenuous explanations just don't cut it when presidential candidates and so many others voted to authorize George Bush and his neo-con buddies to send American men and women to attack and occupy Iraq.

Let's awaken, and wake up the country by committing here and now to do all each of us can to take our nation back. Let them hear us across the country, as we ask others to join us: "We won't take it any more!"

I implore you: Draw a line. Figure out exactly where your own moral breaking point is. How much will you put up with before you say "No more" and mean it?

I have drawn my line as a matter of simple personal morality: I cannot, and will not, support any candidate who has voted to fund the atrocities in Iraq. I cannot, and will not, support any candidate who will not commit to remove all US troops, as soon as possible, from Iraq. I cannot, and will not, support any candidate who has supported legislation that takes us one step closer to attacking Iran. I cannot, and will not, support any candidate who has not fought to stop the kidnapping, disappearances, and torture being carried on in our name.

If we expect our nation's elected officials to take us seriously, let us send a powerful message they cannot misunderstand. Let them know we really do have our moral breaking point. Let them know we have drawn a bright line. Let them know they cannot take our support for granted - that, regardless of their party and regardless of other political considerations, they will not have our support if they cannot provide, and have not provided, principled leadership.

The people of this nation may have been far too quiet for five years, but let us pledge that we won't let it go on one more day - that we will do all we can to put an end to the illegalities, the moral degradation, and the disintegration of our nation's reputation in the world.

Let us be unified in drawing the line - in declaring that we do have a moral breaking point. Let us insist, together, in supporting our troops and in gratitude for the freedoms for which our veterans gave so much, that we bring our troops home from Iraq, that we return our government to a constitutional democracy, and that we commit to honoring the fundamental principles of human rights.

In defense of our country, in defense of our Constitution, in defense of our shared values as Americans - and as moral human beings - we declare today that we will fight in every way possible to stop the insanity, stop the continued military occupation of Iraq, and stop the moral depravity reflected by the kidnapping, disappearing, and torture of people around the world.
