The Perfect Storm Series #4: Converging Juggernauts

Hello everyone!

With the wonderful Winter Olympic Opening ceremony and its special tribute to John Lennon (through Yoko Ono's brief speech and Peter Gabriel's performance of Imagine), we had another example of how humanity can — and will soon — live in peace and let love flow through all united hearts. Sadly, as demonstrated once again through the material I gathered for this compilation, some bad apple are still doing terrible things to foment violence, war and sow ever more destruction

But this too will change — in due time — as they are opposed every step of the way by a rising army of Light Warriors...

And soon the Light shall indeed prevail!

" If world peace is not a reality when we die, then we'll be back. . . until it is!"

— John Lennon

"Dr. Steven Jones, this pious professor from the Mormon Church-owned Brigham Young University, calmly, gently, gave a simple physics lesson on the collapse of the World Trade Center buildings, the implications of which awed the audience with a sense of world-historical significance, and implied an indictment of the present administration so utterly devastating that it made Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11 look like a Bush apologia. Dr. Jones argues that the physics behind the government’s explanation of the collapse of the Twin Towers on September 11 do not make sense, and that a better (and perhaps only) explanation for their collapse was that they were demolished, exactly the way structural engineers bring down large buildings, by pre-positioned explosive devices set off in precise sequences. (...) If Dr. Jones’s work ever breaks into the mainstream media, and the rest of the country reacts the way the Utah County audience reacted, traditional political divisions will evaporate like steel beams exploded with thermite, and the whole lot of them, the Democrats and the Republicans, will be swept away, along with the military-industrial complex that has apparently managed to subvert the constitution of these United States and to con the American public, mesmerized by the shock of 9/11 and hypnotized by spell-binding incantations of freedom and patriotism, into going along with their mad plans for world domination."

"Love changes everything! Many people's attention is at this time drawn towards the negative forces that are doing their utmost to gain control. Their death throes are agonising, their screams are loud. They are losing power! Those who can see this please send your love to those who have been lost for so long. Do not fight them, for that would feed their anger. Send love and gain allies by healing those who could not see. One part of the world must not destroy the other. One part of the world must heal the other half to become whole. Blessed be those who see. Blessed be those who care. Blessed be those who act."

"With the congressionally-authorized ongoing "war on terror" and the constitutionally authorized power of Commander-in-Chief, the Office of President of the U.S. has become, in fact, a DICTATORSHIP with absolute power. Among the many "dark" things the President alone can dictate is (1) death or jailing of any person anywhere in the world suspected of being an enemy of U.S. power controllers, (2) mass killing of civilians anywhere in the world by military, paramilitary, or CIA attacks, (3) suspension of the Constitution's Bill of Rights, and (4) takeover of any activity in which Americans are engaged, as well as confiscation of private property, under cover of "National Security". This is an unfettered Presidential DICTATORSHIP in need of systemic change that empowers the people to cut-off funding and claim their freedom. I recommend applying focused "thought energy" throughout each day on an enlightened solution such as offered below."

The 9-11 Fairy Tale from Hell

Once upon a time there were 19 Magical Jihadists from a faraway land. They used itsy-bitsy box cutters to terrify 8 professional airline pilots. These pilots were so terrified of getting a nasty boo-boo they actually let the Magical Jihadists fly 4 commercial aircraft loaded with innocent passengers. Then the Magical Jihadists chanted a secret verse from their Koran making the planes disappear from all Air Traffic Control monitors. Now they could fly them all around the mighty USA air defense system, completely unbothered, for almost 2 hours. Even the mighty Harry Potter on a magic carpet couldn’t find them!Pretty cool, huh? You can read the rest of our government’s fantastic modern-day FairyTale, (which surpasses Alice In Wonderland for sheer nonsense), by downloading a copy of the 9-11 Commission’s Official Report. http://www.gpoaccess.gov/911/ . Whale meat 'made into dog food' - JUST OUTRAGEOUS!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/pr/fr/-/2/hi/science/nature/4700418.stm
Meat from whales caught under Japan's "research" programme is so abundant that it is being sold as pet food, according to a UK conservation group. Thousands of tonnes of whale meat has been stockpiled as more animals are killed each year, says the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society (WDCS). The Japanese government has attempted to sell the whale meat to schools but the price has continued to fall. A company is selling meat on the web as "healthy and safe natural" dog food. (...) In the current hunting season it launched a programme called JARPA-2 which doubles its annual minke whale catch from Antarctic waters.JARPA-2 will remove 935 minkes and 10 fin whales each year; while its other research programme JARPN takes 100 sei whales, 100 minkes, 50 Bryde's whales and five sperm whales annually from the north Pacific. The IWC obliges countries practising "scientific" whaling to process what they catch, and the meat from Japan's programmes has always found its way into restaurants. Last year it initiated a scheme to distribute whale meat to schools, and a fast-food chain began selling whale burgers. (...) Most whale species are at risk of extinction, and last year 63 members of the IWC's Scientific Committee condemned the JARPA expansion. "With the new proposal, Japan will increase its annual take... to levels approaching the annual commercial quotas for Antarctic minke whales that were in place prior to the moratorium," they declared. Trapped Like a Rat (9 February 2006)
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/020906Z.shtml
The funeral for civil rights leader Coretta Scott King on Tuesday was quite a sight to see. The depth of sadness in the room could not be overcome by the happiness that came with the celebration of her life and accomplishments. It was the measure of Mrs. King's impact upon our society that four presidents - Carter, Bush, Clinton and Bush - sat before her flower-draped casket and spoke of her life. (...) This was a day for speaking truth to power, but it was more than that. Mr. Bush and his people have worked incredibly hard to keep this president from hearing anything that rubs against what he believes to be true. He speaks before hand-picked crowds of adoring supporters, never once seeing the face of someone who thinks he is running the nation into the ground. Millions upon millions of protesters have followed his every move, and yet it is almost certain he has never laid eyes upon a single one of them. On Tuesday, by his own design. George W. Bush was trapped like a rat on that stage. He was forced to listen to eloquent denunciations of his politics and his policies, perhaps for the first time since he took office. The effect upon him was clear; during the speeches delivered by Rev. Lowery and president Carter, Bush looked as if he was sucking on a particularly bitter lemon. When one speaks truth to power, especially arrogant power, that is usually the effect. Coretta Scott King would have approved.

"It's Not Enough to Criticize the President's Policies" (9 February 2006) http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/020906Y.shtml
(...) I have been weighing my decision to run for Senate here in California carefully, even before Camp Casey. My entire being since Casey was killed has been immersed in trying to end the occupation of Iraq before any other mothers have to fall on the floor screaming for their child who should not have been in harm's way in the first place. In making my decision whether to run or not, I had to decide which course of action would bring the troops home sooner. Is my being on the outside, putting pressure on the inside more effective, or would a Senate campaign help bring our kids home sooner? If I thought that running for Senate would bring our young people home more quickly, I would do it in a minute, but I am not convinced that that would be so. I have decided not to run, but I am calling on all Californians and Americans to support all anti-war candidates to promote a paradigm of peace in the world, and I will be supporting and working for dozens of anti-war candidates all over the country. Our emphasis will be holding all of the pro-war candidates accountable for their tragic mistakes, and voting in representatives who will hold George Bush and his administration accountable for all of their mistakes in Iraq and here in America. We Americans are looking for ways to become involved in our political process. We are tired of being complacent and we are so tired of business as usual.

Bush Plays Terror Card With Bogus LA Attack Plot (February 10 2006)
http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/february2006/100206terrorcard.htm
Bootlicking news networks follow suit with dramatic images of Library Tower being destroyed - In an orchestrated set-up, George W. Bush announced that a plan to fly a plane into the LA Library Tower was thwarted in 2002 and within minutes news networks were showing footage of the same building being destroyed in the movie Independence Day. Bush stated that the attack was prevented only with the help of NSA surveillance of communications, an attempt to shut up critics of the spying scandal in a move about as sophisticated as a 300lb Pittsburgh Steelers fan after a heavy drinking session. (...) This represents an organized campaign of mind control and fearmongering. They have played the terror card so many times that the fingerprints of deception can be lifted and verified almost immediately. (...) If the government has really thwarted an attack on LA you can bet your bottom dollar that they would have waved it in front of the anti-war crowd's face before invading Iraq in March 2003. This is as obvious a political points scoring move as you're ever going to see. It has been deliberately and synthetically concocted to stifle heated criticism of the NSA spying. This, despite the fact that the spying debate still circles around foreign phone calls, when the real issue is the admitted fact that the Pentagon and other government agencies have been caught and continue to spy on peaceful anti-war and activist groups entirely made up of American citizens.

Time to Scrap the NPT (February 2, 2006)
http://www.uruknet.info/?p=20226
There’s only one country that has ever used nuclear weapons. There’s only one country that has used nuclear weapons on civilian population centers. There’s only one country that has ever threatened to use nuclear weapons on non-nuclear countries. There’s only one country that has over 10,000 nuclear weapons many of which are on hair-trigger alert for enemies real or imagined. There’s only one country that has developed a regime of low-yield, bunker-busting, "usable" nuclear weapons; stating that they could be legitimately used, not to deter aggression or to stave off an imminent threat, but simply to eliminate the "suspicion" of weapons programs. There’s only one country that justifies unprovoked aggression (preemption) in its National Security doctrine; allowing it to attack any potential rival to its global dominance. There’s only one country that currently occupies a Muslim nation of 25 million inhabitants without any proof of an imminent threat, weapons-systems, or territorial aggression. The purpose of the NPT (Nonproliferation Treaty) is to reduce or eliminate the development of nuclear weapons. If it is to have any relevance at all it must be directed at nations that not only have weapons, but demonstrate a flagrant disregard for the international laws condemning their use. The IAEA should focus its attention on those states that have a clear record of territorial aggression, military intervention, or who consistently violate United Nations resolutions. In its present form the IAEA and the NPT are utterly meaningless. Rather than leading the world towards nuclear disarmament, the agency and the treaty have simply ignored the misbehavior of the more powerful nations and humiliated the non-nuclear states with spurious accusations and threatening rhetoric. The NPT was never intended to be a bludgeon for battering the weaker nations; nor was it set up as a de-facto apartheid system whereby the superpower and its allies can lord above the non nuclear states coercing them to act according to their diktats. It was designed to curb the development of the world’s most lethal weapons; eventually consigning them to the ash-heap. The political maneuvering surrounding Iran’s "alleged" nuclear weapons-programs demonstrates the irrelevance and hypocrisy of the current system. As yet, there is no concrete evidence that Iran is in non-compliance with the terms of the treaty. That hasn’t deterred the Bush administration from intimidating its allies and adversaries alike to assist them in dragging Iran before the Security Council. At the same time, the United States is occupying the country next door to Iran and, after having killed an estimated 100,000 Iraqis and destroyed vast swaths of the countryside, has still never provided any coherent justification for the initial invasion. The international community has simply looked away in fear. This alone should illustrate the ineffectiveness of the institutions that are designed to keep the peace. CLIP

Ability to Wage 'Long War' Is Key to Pentagon Plan (Feb 4) http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/02/03/AR2006020301853.html
The Pentagon, readying for what it calls a "long war," yesterday laid out a new 20-year defense strategy that envisions US troops deployed, often clandestinely, in dozens of countries at once to fight terrorism and other nontraditional threats. Major initiatives include a 15 percent boost in the number of elite US troops known as Special Operations Forces, a near-doubling of the capacity of unmanned aerial drones to gather intelligence, a $1.5 billion investment to counter a biological attack, and the creation of special teams to find, track and defuse nuclear bombs and other catastrophic weapons. China is singled out as having "the greatest potential to compete militarily with the United States," and the strategy in response calls for accelerating the fielding of a new Air Force long-range strike force, as well as for building undersea warfare capabilities. These Weapons That Won't Kill, but Will Continue to Frighten (04 February 2006)
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/020606H.shtml
Forget about rubber bullets and tear gas. War without deaths (or almost), maintenance of order without weapons that kill, are already being prepared in secret laboratories. On the roads, "anti-traction" lubricating jellies would be spread to prevent any vehicle from advancing, any soldier from moving. A suspect who doesn't stop at a roadblock would catch pulsed energy projectiles: a cloud of plasma would unleash a traumatizing flash near the person, a sort of air explosion that won't burn, but disorient for a time. Electronic bullets culminating in the impact of a punch and an electric discharge would also do the trick. Not forgetting acoustic weapons, unbearable infrasound aimed at vehicles, buildings, or reverberating inside skulls. Aerosols with disgusting smells would disperse an aggressive crowd immediately. A new type of anti-personnel mine would protect prohibited areas: after signaling to an intruder by setting off a light or sound warning system, they would inflict blasts of electric waves capable of immobilizing him for several seconds. Electromagnetic impulsion weapons would destroy electronic equipment. Bacteria would "eat" asphalt from roads, concrete from buildings, would decompose fuels and explosives. Pulverizations of hyper-corrosive chemical agents would weaken steel. Obviously, this theatre of operations of the future can only be described now in the conditional tense. The confidentiality that surrounds these projects, the even clandestine character that conceals certain American "black programs," makes it impossible to distinguish which ones will remain in the state of an unrealizable idea and which will rapidly be put into effect. Pulsed energy machines, still too heavy, are on the point of being tested by the American Army in Iraq. (.,..) For their part, the opponents of this new weapon emphasize different risks: that of facilitation of recourse to violence and a banalization of its use. "When we train officials, we insist on one point: don't become dependent on Taser," acknowledges Mr. Di Zazzo. "The devices will be equipped with cameras linked to the command center to avoid abuses." But side-effects have already occurred elsewhere. Four American soldiers were sanctioned in December 2004 for having used Taser guns to torture Iraqi prisoners. Non-lethal weapons can also supply torturers with new methods, all the while masking any trace of their brutality. Will they reduce mortality only to increase pain?

Lab officials excited by new H-bomb project (2/06/2006)
http://www.insidebayarea.com/timesstar/localnews/ci_3480733
For the first time in more than 20 years, U.S. nuclear-weapons scientists are designing a newH-bomb, the first of probably several new nuclear explosives on the drawing boards. If they succeed, in perhaps 20 or 25 more years, the United States would have an entirely new nuclear arsenal, and a highly automated factory capable of turning out more warheads as needed, as well as new kinds of warheads."We are on the verge of an exciting time," the nation's top nuclear weapons executive, Linton Brooks, said last week at Lawrence Livermore weapons design laboratory.Teams of roughly20 scientists and engineers at the nation's two laboratories for nuclear-explosive design — Livermore and Los Alamos in New Mexico — are in a head-to-head competition to offer designs for the first of the new thermonuclear explosives, termed "reliable replacement warheads" or RRWs.Designers are aiming for bombs that will be simpler, easier to maintain over decades and, if they fell into terrorists' hands, able to be remotely destroyed or rendered useless. Once the designs are unveiled in September, the Bush administration and Congress could face a major choice in the future of the U.S. arsenal: Do they keep maintaining the existing, tested weapons or begin diverting money and manpower to developing the newly designed but untested weapons?Administration officials see the new weapons and the plant to make them as "truly transformative," allowing the dismantlement of thousands of reserve weapons. (...) The prize for the winning lab is tens, perhaps hundreds of million of dollars for carrying its bomb concept into prototyping and production. If manufactured, the first RRW would replace two warheads on submarine-launched missiles, the W76 and W88, together the most numerous active weapons and the cornerstone of the U.S. nuclear force.Altogether, the nation has 5,700 nuclear bombs and warheads of 12 basic types, plus more than 4,200 weapons kept in reserve as insurance against aging and failure of the active, fielded arsenal. Most are 25-35 years old. All were exploded multiple times under the Nevada desert before U.S. nuclear testing halted in 1992. It is in most respects the world's most sophisticated nuclear arsenal, and beyond opposition at home to continued testing, ending testing made sense to discourage other nations from testing to advance their nuclear capabilities. Future American Lawyers to be Proud Of (with pictures)

Alberto Gonzales spoke before law students at Georgetown Law School today, justifying illegal, unauthorized surveilance of US citizens, but during the course of his speech the students in class did something pretty ballsy and brave. They got up from their seats and turned their backs to him. To make matters worse for Gonzales, additional students came into the room, wearing black cowls and carrying a simple banner, written on a sheet. Fortunately for him, it was a brief speech... followed by a panel discussion that basically ripped his argument in half. And, as one of the people on the panel said, "When you're a law student, they tell you that if you can't argue the law, argue the facts. They also tell you if you can't argue the facts, argue the law. If you can't argue either, apparently, the solution is to go on a public relations offensive and make it a political issue... to say over and over again "it's lawful", and to think that the American people will somehow come to believe this if we say it often enough. In light of this, I'm proud of the very civil civil disobedience that was shown here today."- David Cole, Georgetown University Law Professor - It was a good day for dissent.

Civic and political organizing online is under attack by America Online. We need to fight back quickly. MoveOn has prepared an online petition to fight this move. It's at: http://civic.moveon.org/AOLemail/
The issue: Online political groups, issue groups, charities, and other non-profits who have large memberships will essentially be priced out of the Internet. How? AOL just announced plans to charge groups with large membership lists every time they send an email, charging what the New York Times calls the "electronic equivalent of a postage stamp" for EACH RECIPIENT'S ADDRESS every time an email is sent. The only way for groups to be sure members receive their emails would be to pay. If they don't pay, your emails could go into a black hole - or be "stripped of images and Web links." If AOL succeeds, other companies will follow - so we need to fight back today. Silence is assent. Time is short. The radical corporate right is on the march. Whether or not you're an AOL user, please sign the petition NOW. Thanks.

Chavez makes call to arms (5 feb 06)

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez says he is considering buying enough rifles to arm one million people ready to repel a possible US invasion. Mr Chavez also threatened to close down his government's US-based refineries if Washington decided to cut diplomatic ties. During a speech warning his supporters that Washington was considering an invasion of Venezuela, Mr Chavez said that 100,000 Russian-built Kalashnikov assault rifles would not be enough to defend the country. "We still need a higher number of rifles. The 100,000 Russian rifles are not enough, Venezuela needs to have one million well-equipped and well-armed men and women," he said. "I've started making contacts with some countries" that would be able to supply the rifles, Mr Chavez told the crowd of supporters to rousing applause. Relations between Washington and Caracas have been tense in recent months in part because of US criticism of Venezuela's purchases of military equipment, including 100,000 Russian-made assault rifles. Mr Chavez said Venezuela did not want to go to the extreme of cutting off petroleum supplies to the US but he said if Washington wanted to break relations he could easily order Venezuela's US refineries closed. "We'll see how high oil prices go, we'll see how much a gallon of gas will cost. I could easily sell the oil we sell to the United States to other countries," he said. "We don't want to get to that extreme, we want them to leave us in peace." Venezuela is the world's fifth biggest oil exporter and supplies about 15 per cent of US petroleum imports. CLIP

Winds of climate change are about to make their impact felt in many a boardroom (Feb 6) http://business.guardian.co.uk/story/0,,1702952,00.html
Top science adviser sounds death knell for theory that insists growth is good. - The old economics is dead. Its death knell was sounded last week, not by a practitioner of the dismal science but by Tony Blair's chief scientific adviser. Sir David King said concentrations of greenhouse gases were already at a level where the warning signs were flashing red: a comment that starkly illustrates the impending clash between economic orthodoxy and environmental sustainability. Economics is a discipline in which the factors of production - capital and labour - are supposed to be harnessed to maximise production at the cheapest price. By this yardstick, an economy is doing twice as well if it is growing at 4% rather than 2% and disastrously badly if consumers are not in the shops from dawn till dusk. Globalisation is seen as the ultimate form of a market economy, according to the prevailing model, because a more efficient use of the factors of production leads to lower prices and therefore permits higher levels of consumption. In a globalised world, you're only as good as your last GDP number. But think about it for a minute. Concerns are frequently being raised about the fact that many developed countries are about to see - or are already seeing - a decline in their populations. This will have an impact on their trend rate of growth, which is a function of population and productivity. Stories about falling population are always couched in terms of demographic time bombs, suggesting that they are clearly a bad thing. But fewer people in Germany, Italy or Japan will mean more space, less pressure on resources and a more pleasant life. (...) Currently, greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere are around 380 parts per million, compared with around 220 ppm during the last ice age. Climatologists estimate that 400ppm - of thereabouts - is the tipping point and if we push concentrations much above that the process of climate change could become irreversible.SeducedSir David says climate change is a threat to our civilisation, and he's right about that. There is no cast-iron guarantee that societies - no matter how smart or technologically advanced - persist. Think of the Romans in the last days before the collapse of the empire ushered in the Dark Ages. But Sir David thinks it is unrealistic to limit concentrations to the levels that scientists say would be safe. He thinks about 550 ppm is the limit and, sadly, given the current configuration of politics - domestically and globally - he is probably right about that too. One problem is that as individuals we lack the incentives to do the sensible thing. If you are seduced by the idea of a cut-price flight, you get 100% of the benefit but only assume a tiny fraction of the cost to the environment. Another problem is that we lack the institutional framework for coping with climate change; instead, we have national governments fearful of doing anything that would damage international competitiveness. A more damaging mindset you could not hope to find, since it sends out the clear message that action on the environment comes a long way second to policies that foster growth. CLIP

It's capitalism or a habitable planet - you can't have both (Feb 2)
http://business.guardian.co.uk/story/0,,1700409,00.html
Our economic system is unsustainable by its very nature. The only response to climate chaos and peak oil is major social change - There is no meaningful response to climate change without massive social change. A cap on this and a quota on the other won't do it. Tinker at the edges as we may, we cannot sustain earth's life-support systems within the present economic system.Capitalism is not sustainable by its very nature. It is predicated on infinitely expanding markets, faster consumption and bigger production in a finite planet. And yet this ideological model remains the central organising principle of our lives, and as long as it continues to be so it will automatically undo (with its invisible hand) every single green initiative anybody cares to come up with. Much discussion of energy, with never a word about power, leads to the fallacy of a low-impact, green capitalism somehow put at the service of environmentalism. In reality, power concentrates around wealth. Private ownership of trade and industry means that the decisive political force in the world is private power. The corporation will outflank every puny law and regulation that seeks to constrain its profitability. It therefore stands in the way of the functioning democracy needed to tackle climate change. Only by breaking up corporate power and bringing it under social control will we be able to overcome the global environmental crisis. On these pages we have been called on to admire capital's ability to take robust action while governments dither. All hail Wal-Mart for imposing a 20% reduction in its own carbon emissions. But the point is that supermarkets are over. We cannot have such long supply lines between us and our food. Not any more. The very model of the supermarket is unsustainable, what with the packaging, food miles and destruction of British farming. Small, independent suppliers, processors and retailers or community-owned shops selling locally produced food provide a social glue and reduce carbon emissions. CLIP

What Is Plan B? (February 2, 2006)
http://www.alternet.org/story/31679
Eradicate poverty, reforest the earth, restore fisheries, eliminate overgrazing, protect biological diversity, stabilize climate -- Lester Brown says it's all possible. Of all the resources needed to build an economy that will sustain economic progress, none is more scarce than time. That is one of the key messages of Lester Brown's new book, "Plan B. 2.0: Rescuing a Planet Under Stress and a Civilization in Trouble." The world may finally be listening.China now consumes more grain, meat, coal and steel than the United States. If China's income grows as projected, in 2031 its income per person will match incomes in the United States today. At that point, it will be consuming the equivalent of two-thirds of the current world grain harvest, driving 1.1 billion cars (versus 800 million in the world today) and using 99 million barrels of oil per day, well above current world production of 84 million barrels. That's Plan A. New threats -- climate change, environmental degradation, the persistence of poverty and the loss of hope -- call for new strategies. Brown -- who left World Watch in 2001 to found Earth Policy Institute -- says it's time for Plan B -- a renewable-energy-based, reuse-recycle economy with a diversified transport system: time to build a new economy and a new world. The world is now spending $975 billion annually for military purposes. Plan B -- social goals and earth restoration -- requires an additional annual expenditure of $161 billion. CLIP

Clinton: Climate change is the world's biggest worry (January 28, 2006)

DAVOS, Switzerland -- Former U.S. President Bill Clinton told corporate chieftains and political bigwigs Saturday that climate change was the world's biggest problem _ followed by global inequality and the "apparently irreconcilable" religious and cultural differences behind terrorism. Clinton's comments provided something a freewheeling and philosophical finale _ ahead of Sunday's formal wrap-up _ to several days of high-powered discourse on the state of the world, and the mostly admiring audience seemed to hang on his every word. "First, I worry about climate change," Clinton said in an onstage conversation with the founder of the World Economic Forum. "It's the only thing that I believe has the power to fundamentally end the march of civilization as we know it, and make a lot of the other efforts that we're making irrelevant and impossible." Clinton called for "a serious global effort to develop a clean energy future" to avoid the onset of another ice age. He also said the current global system "works to aggravate rather than ameliorate inequality" between and within nations _ including in the United States, where he lamented the "growing concentration of wealth at the top," alongside stagnation for the middle classes and rising poverty. Scientists warn of melting ice in Arctic (February 6, 2006) http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/1501AP_Arctic_Warming.html
ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Scientists on Monday painted a gloomy picture of the effects of global warming on the Arctic, warning of melting ocean ice, rising oceans, thawed permafrost and forests susceptible to bugs and fire."A lot of the stories you read make it sound like there's uncertainty," said Jonathan Overpeck, a professor of geosciences at the University of Arizona. "There's not uncertainty." The questions scientists continue to address, he said after his presentation at the Alaska Forum on the Environment, are how much of the warming is caused by humans and how drastic long-term effects will be.Deborah Williams, a conference organizer and former director of the Alaska Conservation Foundation, said Alaska is Ground Zero for observing the effects of global warming because so many natural phenomena are tied to ice and the repercussions of it melting."We are the Paul Revere of global warming," she said. Overpeck reviewed NASA studies showing how Arctic ice has shrunk in size and depth. CLIP

Global Warming Demands Urgent Solutions, Scientists Say (January 31, 2006)
http://www.enn.com/today.html?id=9776
LONDON — The world must halt greenhouse gas emissions and reverse them within two decades or watch the planet spiralling towards destruction, scientists said on Monday. Saying that evidence of catastrophic global warming from burning fossil fuels was now incontrovertible, the experts from oceanographers to economists, climatologists and politicians stressed that inaction was unacceptable. "Climate change is worse than was previously thought and we need to act now," Henry Derwent, special climate change adviser to British Prime Minister Tony Blair, said at the launch of a book of scientific papers on the global climate crisis. Researcher Rachel Warren from the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, who contributed to the book "Avoiding Dangerous Climate Change", said carbon dioxide emissions had to peak no later than 2025, and painted a picture of rapidly approaching catastrophe. Global average temperatures were already 0.6 Celsius above pre-industrial levels, and a rise of just 0.4C more would see coral reefs wiped out, flooding in the Himalayas and millions more people facing hunger, she said. A rise of 3C -- just half of what scientists have warned is possible this century -- would see 400 million people going hungry, entire species being wiped out and killer diseases such as dengue fever reachning pandemic proportions. Debate on Climate Shifts to Issue of Irreparable Change (January 29, 2006)

Some Experts on Global Warming Foresee 'Tipping Point' When It Is Too Late to Act - Now that most scientists agree human activity is causing Earth to warm, the central debate has shifted to whether climate change is progressing so rapidly that, within decades, humans may be helpless to slow or reverse the trend. This "tipping point" scenario has begun to consume many prominent researchers in the United States and abroad, because the answer could determine how drastically countries need to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions in the coming years. While scientists remain uncertain when such a point might occur, many say it is urgent that policymakers cut global carbon dioxide emissions in half over the next 50 years or risk the triggering of changes that would be irreversible. There are three specific events that these scientists describe as especially worrisome and potentially imminent, although the time frames are a matter of dispute: widespread coral bleaching that could damage the world's fisheries within three decades; dramatic sea level rise by the end of the century that would take tens of thousands of years to reverse; and, within 200 years, a shutdown of the ocean current that moderates temperatures in northern Europe. Just in case you hadn't noticed, we're in a Bushworld too absurd for words. But that hasn't stopped this administration from yakking its collective head off. (...) Though our brush-cutting President did mention wood chips and switch grass, ethanol is essentially a corn product; and corn is our petroleum farm crop of choice, since growing it in quantity involves massive infusions of oil-based chemical fertilizer. So maybe we should consider George's ethanol-fix like one of those nicotine patches for cigarette smokers. Throw in some leftover radioactive waste from those nuclear plants his administration would love to hug into existence and it all made perfect sense to me... until the next day when an administration that had never heard of no-backsies took it all back. The President's suggestion about making 75% of Middle Eastern oil imports go away "was purely an example," insisted an embarrassed Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman. And anyway, it turned out that none of it really mattered since, as Paul Krugman pointed out: "[T]he National Renewable Energy Laboratory is about to lay off staff because of budget cuts. 'A veteran researcher,' reports The New York Times, 'said the staff had been told that the cuts would be concentrated among researchers in wind and biomass, which includes ethanol.'" Of course, the President and his men generated enough wind last week to create a little extra power - if only we'd put some money into alternative fuels. CLIP

Pyramids found in Bosnia

When was the first time you came to the conclusion that there are pyramids in Visoko? In April of 2005, during my visit to Visoko, I noticed two geometrically symmetrical elevations:
Visocica (Bosnian pyramid of Sun) and Pljesevica (Bosnian pyramid of Moon). Even tough both were covered by trees, the characteristics of pyramids were evident. Taking into consideration their fit with the sides of the world for me there was no doubt that we were talking about pyramids. Route from unbelievable hypothesis to the scientific argumentation, which will confirm my vision, was logical. First, I started with geological trial excavations in August which showed many anomalies convincing even some experts around me that this was not a natural formation. In October of 2005 I continued my excavation on my own with wide digs, so-called probing (excavation) wells, which showed the structure of the walls of the pyramid, access plateau and the pyramid design. For an expert eye there was no doubt any more at that point: stone tiles made a stairs-like pyramid 220 meters tall, and treated stone tiles were making up the access plateau. While researchers look for links between autism, pervasive developmental disorders, and the mercury content of the vaccines which are mandated by law, some physicians are convinced that the dangers of mandatory vaccinations and the vaccines themselves potentially cause more harm than good. As a result, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) passed a resolution at their 57th Annual Meeting that calls for the elimination of laws which require vaccinations for children. According to Dr. Jane M. Orient, MD, the association's Executive Director, "Our children face the possibility of death or serious long-term adverse effects from mandated vaccines that aren’t necessary or that have very limited benefits." According to the Association, the mandatory vaccine controversy is fueled by the influence of the pharmaceutical companies in the legislative process and the fact that their influence extends into the depths of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, and the Food and Drug Administration. These groups have the authority to approve vaccines and other medical treatments for use in the United States, and their research is flawed because of the influence of the manufacturers. According to the AAPS, "Rampant conflicts of interest in the approval process has been the subject of several Congressional hearings, and a recent Congressional report concluded that the pharmaceutical industry has indeed exerted undue influence on mandatory vaccine legislation toward its own financial interests." They go on to say, "The vaccine approval process has also been contaminated by flawed or incomplete clinical trials, and government officials have chosen to ignore negative results." CLIP

I FOUND THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE ON THE ERN GUESTBOOK AT http://two.guestbook.de/gb.cgi?gid=456912&prot=ccbcsw

Date: 2006-02-03
Chris Becker (cbecker333@hotmail.com) wrote:

I am doing my best to be positive with this message, please bear with me.

After being introduced to ERN through chance with a google search, I was immediately drawn in by the concept and the way you all have executed it. The most interesting aspect is the weekly global meditations. I have not yet participated but I often feel compelled to step into this circle and do so. What prevents me lately from doing this, really, is the content of the ERN newsletters. Increasingly, I see prophetic warnings about "imminent" this or that, and I think implying so strongly that we know what the future holds is very dangerous. Not only that, but it alienates a lot of the people and the passion that ERN could otherwise assemble, were these compilations assembled with a bit more scrutiny and a few more disclaimers. For example, when a headline reads "Dramatic Change In West Antarctic Ice Could Produce 16ft Rise In Sea Levels", this is pure alarmism. I can't imagine there is enough extra water on the face of the entire planet to raise the global sea level 16ft in any amount of time. Putting the science aside (and I'm no expert) it is even more frustrating that this headline has no disclaimers or anything aside from the completely alarmist conclusion of a 16ft rise in sea levels (there is not even an indication of how many years a 16ft increase would take, which seems far more important than the actual estimate of the sea level increase itself.)

I want this group to succeed and grow, but I feel it simply cannot unless the newsletter – which to me is the group’s flagship – can be made more informative and less prophetic.

AND MY REPLY WAS:

Dear Chris

I just found your message in the ERN guestbook - which I just made public for all to see.

I'd like first to thank you for taking the time to share your appreciation about this networking service and the weekly Meditation Focuses (these are indeed a wonderful opportunity to do some good Light/healing work).

Thanks also for sharing your thoughts regarding the "prophetic" bias you see in the compilations I prepare. It is true that lately there has been a number of articles that I've picked which emphasized threats and imminent events that COULD happen, and that I have not necessarily in each case tried to add disclaimers as you'd like me to do.

There are a couple reasons for this: The first one - as it has been the case for 8 years - is that I'm alone here at my computer to bring all this information together and it takes quite a bit of time which I don't have as much as I did in the past - I'm working as a translator to earn a living and my time schedule to complete my current book translation is rather tight. Thus, once I'm through with reviewing and selecting the material for a compilation, I'm often too tired or just too much in a hurry to get it done to take time to write up such disclaimers. Secondly, I trust that most people, especially those who have been on the list for quite some time, have enough experience and discernment to make their own mind as to the credibility of the material they read, and thus they don't need anyone to warn them about this or that.

Moreover, each person should do their own homework when they are feeling unsure about the level of credibility of a topic or a claim made in a news article or in any of the diverse sources of views and information I chose to include in my compilations — obviously because I feel they hold some validity or that is is important to be aware of these views and info. None of the material I network is presented by me as any kind of truth that ERN subscribers should believe in — unless I do so unconsciously which is possible as I sometimes get carried away when commenting about something which I feel strongly about. But frankly I think that describing the content of these compilations as being "prophetic" in tone is a rather exaggerated claim in itself ;-)

To warn about imminent global environmental catastrophe as many scientific articles do is not being prophetic but merely stating the obvious from their informed perspective. And it serves a useful purpose in the global sense as it moves governments, corporations and individual alike to re-evaluate their assumptions about what our future potentially holds and, hopefully, make all necessary adjustments to correct the current course that will lead to a tragic end of our civilization if no correction is made. I believe that is the goal of scientists like James Loveloch - the father of the Gaia Hypothesis - whose recent dire pronouncements about the fact that we MAY have already crossed the threshold point after which no environmental recovery is possible. Could his opinion possibly be the basis for your perception about the so-called prophetic content of recent compilations? If you diligently do your own homework and review the massive body of scientific information available about the cumulative effects of global warming and the far-reaching cascading effect it is in the process of triggering worldwide, perhaps you will come to a similar conclusion and likewise sound alarmist and prophetic when trying to wake up other people still entranced into their own personal bubble of self-selected "reality", oblivious to the disintegration of the Web of Life around themselves.

Now regarding the example you mentioned with the article suggesting the possibility of a 16 feet sea rise (Dramatic Change In West Antarctic Ice Could Produce 16ft Rise In Sea Levels, archived at http://www.global-warming.net/), it should be noted again that it's British scientists (not me!) who are making such a claim, and that this is what would happen if the vast section of the Antarctica called WAIS was to suddenly slide into the ocean. I trust these people have their math correct and that the mass of this ice sheet is sufficiently large to add 16 feet to the ocean levels. For your reference here is another article on this topic - with a relevant quote - that I've just found through Google and which shows that this is a rather old debate within the scientific community...

Ice Sheets and Rising Seas
http://www.aip.org/history/climate/floods.htm
(...) Serious concern began to spread when John Mercer, a glaciologist at Ohio State University, drew attention to the West Antarctic Ice Sheet. This is a smaller (but still enormous) mass of ice, separated by a mountain range from the bulk of the continent. Mercer argued that this mass was held back, in an especially delicate balance, by the floating ice sheets ("ice shelves") at its rim. The shelves might disintegrate under a slight warming. Just so, he suggested, a collapse of Arctic Ocean ice sheets might have caused the more local, but remarkably sudden, cooling of the North Atlantic around 11,000 years ago that other scientists had identified. A West Antarctic Ice Sheet collapse could be very rapid, Mercer said. The sea level would not rise as far as if all of Antarctica surged, but it would be bad enough — up to five meters (16 feet). Much of the world's population lives near the shore. Such a rise would displace perhaps two billion people and force the abandonment of many great cities. Mercer thought it could happen within the next 40 years.(6*)

Also, just for your information, before the ice sheets that covered North America and Europe 11,000 years ago melted at the end of the last ice age, the level of the oceans was about 300 feet lower than now. So there is PLENTY of frozen water on Earth (mostly on the Greenland and in Antarctica where the ice sheet often reaches depth (or thickness) of 5 to 6 kilometers) to considerably rise the level of the oceans over a relatively long period of time of course - like several thousands of years.

So I hope this helps you see those information in a clearer context.

Best regards

Jean Hudon
Earth Rainbow Network coordinator

Subject: Re: The Big Scoop Series #10: Clear And Present Dangers Exposed

Hi Jean,

I've been reading your emailings for the last few months, since I joined your list. Overall I like your website and information, and I thank you very much for speaking out and doing this work.

However, one thing I notice is that your psychic information is very hopeful and positive, but much of the concrete information (on doings of the Neocons, war, oppression of our rights, destruction of the environment, etc.) is very scary and negative. Both, of course, are absolutely true. But the picture one gets from the overall readings is one of spiritual hope but physical/political hopelessness. While all the information given is true, the concrete information is not sufficiently balanced, I think. There are many concrete signs of hopefulness - the ongoing investigations of the Bush administration (in spite of the fact that they control all three branches of government!), the continuing flood of their own people who are turning against the Neocons, the ongoing leaks from within the CIA and military, the rising up of more and more dissent, etc. - that could be given more emphasis.

For an example of a good balance in the concrete area, check out Michael Moore's website: http://www.michaelmoore.com/. He manages to expose the outrages of the Bush administration, give information on the forward actions of resistance, and give inspiring stories of resistance, courage, love, and hope. If you could balance the negative with more positives in the concrete area, I think it would help greatly to dispel the fear that all of us feel, and that is the key tool of the dark forces. It would also help us to ground a more positive image of our reality, and make it increasingly the world's reality.

Thanks very much for all the work you do

NOTE from Jean: I'm trying my best under the circumstances to balance out things in my compilations, but what you have is mostly a reflection of what I receive from people who recommend material to my attention. Also I believe the Meditation Focus healing work is part of the solution to address most of the imbalances in our world today. The real victory, for us individually and for this planet as a whole, over fear and dark ploys to capture/ensnare our soul is to be won in the invisible (for us!) spiritual realm. All the rest - including the information I network - is a background stage for this gradual expansion of Light over and through darkness which is unstoppable and always victorious in the end, for lighting up a single candle in a dark room is always enough to dispel the darkness...

“Not a single human can achieve alone what 2 human beings can do when attuned to the same vibration. Two candles are brighter than one. Imagine what a thousand candles can do... a million candles... 6 billion candles! We are all the living prophecy, awakening to our Unity, One with Life, One with the Universe.”

TO WHICH MIKE REPLIED:

Great reply! It sounds like it's really up to all of us to "Be the change you want to see in the world" (Mahatma Gandhi quote), and work with the meditation as well as try to sent you both positive as well as negative concrete reports. Thanks again!

BYU’s Dr. Steven Jones Blows the Roof off a Utah Auditorium

by Philip Sherman Gordon

On Wednesday, February 1, a quiet, “churchy-looking” gentleman in a white shirt and tie walked into a packed auditorium on the campus of Utah Valley State College and electrified the room like a rock star. The 150-seat auditorium was filled to capacity, with every seat occupied, and people sitting in the aisles from the stage floor to the back of the room. Video cameras on tripods lined the back row. Two documentary-film crews were in attendance, in addition to the school’s camera crew, and various independent journalists. Seven “spill-over” rooms, with seating for 40-50 each, were also filled to capacity. On this very conservative campus (in the most conservative county in the most conservative state in the union), where community leaders pulled out all the stops in 2004 to prevent Michael Moore from speaking as part of his anti-Bush, pro-Kerry “Slacker Uprising Tour,” Dr.

He argues that the 650 degree Celsius temperature of burning jet fuel would not have been hot enough to even bend the steel girders of the WTC Towers, let alone to melt or evaporate them, as recovered beams indicate. And even if it was hot enough to evaporate the steel, the towers should not have collapsed as they did, pancaking so perfectly into their own footprints. On the rare times when such structures have failed (always due to earthquakes), they have toppled over sideways. The towers would have had to have been perfectly sliced, at every point along a horizontal plane at exactly the same instant, for something even resembling a pancaking effect to occur.

And even if they did somehow pancake perfectly into their own footprints due to a structural failure, they would not have done it in the time it took for them to collapse, falling at essentially the speed of an apple dropped from the top of one of the towers, with nothing between it and the ground but thin air. The steel and concrete in the floors that collapsed should have taken some measurable time to break, and thus slowed the collapse somewhat as it unfolded. And even if it did collapse, at super speed, phwack phwack phwack, floor by floor, as fast as an apple falling through the air, impelled by the weight of the decapitated structure above it, its solid steel frame severed like a head by a flaming guillotine, that does not explain the molten steel seen at the Ground Zero clean-up site many days after the event. What could have caused such heat? asked Professor Jones.

And on it went, point by point, for almost two hours. Nothing about the physics of “what we know” about 9/11 seemed to add up. And all that’s not to mention the mysterious collapse of the forgotten WTC-7, the third steel-frame building that imploded due to fire, not only that day, but in the history of architectural design--the building that was not hit by a plane, that was surrounded by other buildings equally impacted but structurally undamaged by the collapse of the towers, that, with no jet fuel or violent impact, but allegedly due to a small number of scattered “debris fires,” collapsed, pancaking perfectly into its own footprint, looking exactly like video images of buildings being demolished by pre-positioned explosive devices. Playing the one available video of WTC-7 collapsing at slow speed, Dr. Jones used his laser pointer to indicate the explosive “squibs” clearly seen shooting their way up the sides of the building as it collapsed from the top center down. He showed still images of similar micro-explosions on the sides of the Twin Towers, with steel beams clearly visible, ejected out of the sides of the buildings, ahead of the dust, blown out before the above portions collapsed.

It is a devastating presentation, and one could feel the disequilibrium of 150 minds reeling at once. The defining moment of contemporary American experience suddenly lost its definition. What is the meaning of 9/11? What really happened that day? If these things are true, the implications clearly point to some kind of “inside job” involving the government of the United States of America. (The Department of Defense, the FBI, and the CIA all had offices in the mysteriously collapsed WTC-7. Is it reasonable that outside terrorists could have infiltrated that building and filled it with explosives? ) If the WTC was brought down by pre-positioned explosive devices, somehow facilitated and covered up by the government, it would be the most audacious conspiracy in human history. When before have so many people been so spectacularly bamboozled, with so much death and destruction, and such massive implications for geo-politics? Never, that’s when.

And that is the problem Dr. Jones is facing with his research. People have knee-jerk reactions to “conspiracy theories,” at least to the ones that do not make it into their established and trusted news outlets. And the mainstream media, so far, despite a blip or two in the New York Times, is taking a pass on this story. Yes, my skeptical friends believe that the Bush administration cynically smeared the war records of both John Kerry and John McCain during the 2000 presidential election through the use of shill agencies. Yes, they believe there was suppression of black voters in Florida, and other schemes to cheat their way into the White House in the 2000 election. Yes, they believe the administration conspired to rig the intelligence they used to justify their invasion of Iraq. Yes, if they are regular readers of The New Yorker, they believe that the election fraud was worse in 2004, with rigged ballot machines, in Ohio in particular, being used to great effect. And, yes, they believe in massive wrong-doing and cover-up regarding October Surprise and the Iran/Contra affair, as well as the CIA-orchestrated overthrows of democracies in Chile and Iran, to name only two well-known examples. But no, they don’t believe in conspiracy theories.

These are hardcore leftists who refuse to even entertain the question of whether science supports the conclusion that the planes brought the towers down. “Too many people would have to know about it for them to get away with it,” one friend said. “They’re not that smart,” said another. “It’s just not plausible,” said a third. The issues raised by Professor Jones are not breaking along standard political fissures. People’s relative amounts of skepticism and credulity, rather than their political affiliations, seem to determine their openness to giving the professor’s analysis a hearing. Jones himself claims to have been a lifelong Republican, but now affiliates with no political party. The audience Wednesday night was definitely not the usual suspects of progressive professors and pierced and tattooed activists and students who regularly gather to share criticism of the President, although there were a few of those, too. Mostly, they looked like a cross-section of average middle-Americans. But by the end of the evening, it is no exaggeration to say that most had become political radicals, not of the left and the right, but of the right and the wrong.

If Dr. Jones’s work ever breaks into the mainstream media, and the rest of the country reacts the way the Utah County audience reacted, traditional political divisions will evaporate like steel beams exploded with thermite, and the whole lot of them, the Democrats and the Republicans, will be swept away, along with the military-industrial complex that has apparently managed to subvert the constitution of these United States and to con the American public, mesmerized by the shock of 9/11 and hypnotized by spell-binding incantations of freedom and patriotism, into going along with their mad plans for world domination.

A BYU physics professor speaking on Wednesday night implied a government cover-up of what really happened on Sept. 11, 2001, and cast doubt on the blame placed on Osama bin Laden.

Professor Steven E. Jones suggested before the attacks the Bush administration was seeking a way to increase military spending and invade Iraq. The ensuing attacks on Iraq and Afghanistan have created most of Muslims' disdain for America, he said.

He spoke at Utah Valley State College to a packed lecture room, and by video to adjacent overflow rooms, sponsored by the Center for the Study of Ethics.

Center director David Keller said, "The collapse of the World Trade Center buildings illustrates a strange convergence of physics, engineering, ethics and politics."

View of a Military Expert: Why the Towers of the World Trade Center collapsed

The impossibility of a gravitational collapse is closer seen in other documents. A collapse would produce large pieces, and does not explain reports of fine dust from concrete, huge amounts of dust and pieces of steel ejected outwards.

Destruction of the towers by explosions is clear according to the photographs and reports of the eye witnesses. In the picture below, a range of cutting charges have just exploded in the down left sector and a typical white cloud is formed outwards from the wall. Down right, explosions are seen as well. Even a flame is seen.

In video tapes taken of the so-called collapses of the WTC, more explosions of these cutting charges can be seen. The explosions advance quickly, with a gap of a couple of floors, cutting the strong steel pillars in the outer wall. The explosions are timed so that it appears that the tower collapses occur in the same timing as in a gravitational collapse. The explosions are not completely synchronized in timing, probably a few charges are triggered by radio, and other charges explode out of the impulses of one of these charges (infrared, pressure wave).

More challenging problems to the demolition men, however, were the central cores of the buildings and the 47 steel pillars more robust than the ones on the outer rounds. The pillars of the central cores were made of steel even 100 + 100 mm thick, thicker than the side armours of a battle tank. Cutting those, even with explosives, is extremely difficult.

As seen in the following pictures, the cores of the towers were not distracted by thousands of powerful cutting charges but by a modern thermonuclear explosive, a small hydrogen bomb. In the picture below, a hydrogen bomb explosion, the bomb having been placed in the cellar and directed to the core, has reached the roof of the tower and the upper parts of the outer walls. On its way up the waves of fire pressure partially penetrated about 100 floors of concrete and steel. Over ten million degrees of heat caused by a hydrogen bomb sublimised all water within the concrete in a moment. Water exploded extremely quickly into 24-fold volume and totally pulverized the concrete. Even people and computers that were in the buildings disappeared turning into heat and light. That is why almost nothing of them was found in the ruins.

Burning radiation is absorbed in steel so quickly that steel heats up immediately over its melting point 1585 °C (approx. 2890 °F) and above its boiling point around 3000 C (approx. 5430 °F). In the pictures down below, super hot groups of steel pillars and columns, torn from wall by pressure wave, are sublimized. They immediately turn into a vaporized form, binding heat as quickly as possible. Bursts upwards, even visible in the picture below, are not possible for a gravitational collapse or for cutting charges which are used horizontally.

Russian General: International Terrorism Does Not Exist

Chief of Staff says war is a hoax to justify creation of world government body

General Leonid Ivashov | January 23 2006

General Leonid Ivashov was the Chief of Staff of the Russian armed forces when the September 11, 2001, attacks took place. This military man, who lived the events from the inside, offers an analysis which is very different to that of his American colleagues. As he did during the Axis for Peace 2005 conference, he now explains that international terrorism does not exist and that the September 11 attacks were the result of a set-up. What we are seeing is a manipulation by the big powers; this terrorism would not exist without them. He affirms that, instead of faking a "world war on terror", the best way to reduce that kind of attacks is through respect for international law and peaceful cooperation among countries and their citizens.

General Leonid Ivashov (left) at the Axis for Peace Conference 2005 in Brussels, with Webster Tarpley

As the current international situation shows, terrorism emerges where contradiction aggravate, where there is a change of social relations or a change of regime, where there is political, economic or social instability, where there is moral decadence, where cynicism and nihilism triumph, where vice is legalized and where crime spreads.

It is globalization what creates the conditions for the emergence of these extremely dangerous phenomena. It is in this context that the new world geo-strategic map is being designed, that the resources of the planet are being re-distributed, that borders are disappearing, that international law is being torn into pieces, that cultural identities are being erased, that spiritual life becomes impoverished...

The analysis of the essence of the globalization process, the military and political doctrines of the United States and other countries, shows that terrorism contributes to a world dominance and the submissiveness of states to a global oligarchy. This means that terrorism is not something independent of world politics but simply an instrument, a means to install a unipolar world with a sole world headquarters, a pretext to erase national borders and to establish the rule of a new world elite. It is precisely this elite that constitutes the key element of world terrorism, its ideologist and its "godfather". The main target of the world elite is the historical, cultural, traditional and natural reality; the existing system of relations among states; the world national and state order of human civilization and national identity.

Today's international terrorism is a phenomenon that combines the use of terror by state and non-state political structures as a means to attain their political objectives through people's intimidation, psychological and social destabilization, the elimination of resistance from power organizations and the creation of appropriate conditions for the manipulation of the countries' policies and the behavior of people.

Terrorism is the weapon used in a new type of war. At the same time, international terrorism, in complicity with the media, becomes the manager of global processes. It is precisely the symbiosis between media and terror, which allows modifying international politics and the exiting reality.

In this context, if we analyze what happened on September 11, 2001, in the United States, we can arrive at the following conclusions:

1. The organizers of those attacks were the political and business circles interested in destabilizing the world order and who had the means necessary to finance the operation. The political conception of this action matured there where tensions emerged in the administration of financial and other types of resources. We have to look for the reasons of the attacks in the coincidence of interests of the big capital at global and transnational levels, in the circles that were not satisfied with the rhythm of the globalization process or its direction. Unlike traditional wars, whose conception is determined by generals and politicians, the oligarchs and politicians submitted to the former were the ones who did it this time.

2. Only secret services and their current chiefs - or those retired but still having influence inside the state organizations - have the ability to plan, organize and conduct an operation of such magnitude. Generally, secret services create, finance and control extremist organizations. Without the support of secret services, these organizations cannot exist - let alone carry out operations of such magnitude inside countries so well protected. Planning and carrying out an operation on this scale is extremely complex.

3. Osama bin Laden and "Al Qaeda" cannot be the organizers nor the performers of the September 11 attacks. They do not have the necessary organization, resources or leaders. Thus, a team of professionals had to be created and the Arab kamikazes are just extras to mask the operation.

The September 11 operation modified the course of events in the world in the direction chosen by transnational mafias and international oligarchs; that is, those who hope to control the planet's natural resources, the world information network and the financial flows. This operation also favored the US economic and political elite that also seeks world dominance.

The use of the term "international terrorism" has the following goals:

Hiding the real objectives of the forces deployed all over the world in the struggle for dominance and control;

Turning the people's demands to a struggle of undefined goals against an invisible enemy;

Destroying basic international norms and changing concepts such as: aggression, state terror, dictatorship or movement of national liberation;

Depriving peoples of their legitimate right to fight against aggressions and to reject the work of foreign intelligence services;

Establishing the principle of renunciation to national interests, transforming objectives in the military field by giving priority to the war on terror, violating the logic of military alliances to the detriment of a joint defense and to favor the anti-terrorist coalition;

Solving economic problems through a tough military rule using the war on terror as a pretext. In order to fight in an efficient way against international terrorism it is necessary to take the following steps:

To confirm before the UN General Assembly the principles of the UN Charter and international law as principles that all states are obliged to respect;

To create a geo-strategic organization (perhaps inspired in the Cooperation Organization of Shanghai comprised of Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan) with a set of values different to that of the Atlantists; to design a strategy of development of states, a system of international security, another financial and economic model (which would mean that the world would again rest on two pillars);

To associate (under the United Nations) the scientific elites in the design and promotion of the philosophical concepts of the Human Being of the 21st Century.

To organize the interaction of all religious denominations in the world, on behalf of the stability of humanity's development, security and mutual support.

Russian MP Says US To Attack Iran Late March

Muslim riots a US psyop aimed at getting EU support for war

Paul Joseph Watson

February 7 2006

A top Russian parliamentary leader has told Ekho Moskvy radio station that an attack on Iran is inevitable and that it will occur on March 28th. The leader of the Liberal Democrats Vladimir Zhirinovsky also believes that the Muslim riots were orchestrated by the US to garner European backing for the military strike.

Rhetoric has heated significantly in the past week with Donald Rumsfeld yesterday warning that a military option was on the table, echoing the comments of Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist who said that the US was prepared to take military action.

Also, Israeli acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert stated that Iran would pay "a very heavy price" if the Islamic Republic defiantly resumes full-scale uranium enrichment to build nuclear weapons.

Zhirinovsky told the Russian radio station that, "The war is inevitable because the Americans want this war. Any country claiming a leading position in the world will need to wage wars. Otherwise it will simply not be able to retain its leading position."

"The date for the strike is already known — it is the election day in Israel (March 28). It is also known how much that war will cost,” said Zhirinovsky.

Commenting on the Muslim riots sweeping the Middle East and Europe, Zhirinovsky (pictured above) said that the publication of the offensive cartoons was a planned psyop on the part of the US and aimed to “provoke a row between Europe and the Islamic world”.

“It will all end with European countries thanking the United States and paying, and giving soldiers,” said Zhirinovsky.

The possible inorganic manufactured nature of the riots has to be seriously considered. The three most offensive cartoons that caused the outrage were not even printed in the Danish Jyllands-Posten newspaper but were added in and handed out by Danish imams who “circulated the images to brethren in Muslim countries,” according to the London Telegraph.

It also appears highly suspicious that Muslims in Gaza City and other places had gained access to a plentiful supply of Danish flags to burn in front of the waiting world media as soon as the controversy broke out.

It now comes to light that Merete Eldrup, managing director of JP/Politikens Hus, the company that published the cartoons, is the wife of Anders Eldrup. Anders Eldrup is a Bilderberg member who has attended the last five Bilderberg meetings. The Bilderberg Group is a shadowy organization that meets once a year to steer global policy. It is now widely acknowledged that Bilderberg set the date for the March 2003 invasion of Iraq.

The violent demonstrations, on the back of last November's French riots, are clearly having the effect of hardening European sympathy towards Muslims, even as the governments of major European countries open the floodgates to mass immigration. This greases the skids for an accelerated invasion of Iran who yesterday announced they were cutting trade with Denmark over the offensive cartoons.

Director of the Russian Political Research Institute Sergei Markov previously warned that Israel was likely to conduct air strikes against Iran in the spring.

The window of opportunity seems to be forming for the US and Israel. The White House meeting memo proves that UN consultations and possible sanctions are mere window dressing for a plan of action that has already been decided upon. What remains to be seen is if the US or Israel will attempt to manufacture a staged war provocation to goad the Iranians into signing their own death warrant. The memo, released by QC Philippe Sands, contained details of a discussion between Tony Blair and George Bush where a plan to paint a US spy plane in UN colors and fly it low over Iraq in the hope that Saddam would order it shot down was debated.

A 'Dangerous Moment' for Europe and Islam

As Islamic protests grew against the publication in Europe of cartoons lampooning the Prophet Muhammad, a small Arab movement responded with a drawing on its Web site of Hitler in bed with Anne Frank. "Write this one in your diary, Anne," Hitler was shown as saying. Such contrasts have produced a worrisome sense that the conflict over the cartoons has pushed both sides across an unexpected threshold, where they view each other with miscomprehension and suspicion.

The Cartoon Hoax

From the desk of Paul Belien

2006-02-07

Radical Danish imams have deliberately incited hatred against Denmark, the country that had hospitably welcomed them in. To this end, while on a visit to Arab countries last month, they added three false, extremely offensive Muhammad “cartoons” to the twelve relatively mild ones published by Jyllands-Posten last September [see the latter here, halfway down the page].

One of the three additional cartoons [we linked to them in this article], which the imams distributed on a faxed image of appalling quality, was said to be a depiction of Muhammad with a pigsnout. When the Danish press discovered the three false so-called Danish cartoons, the imams refused to say where they had got them. They claimed, however, that the false cartoons were genuinely Danish and had been added to “give an insight in how hateful the atmosphere in Denmark is towards Muslims.”

The Brussels Journal has always doubted whether the cartoons added by the imams were genuine. Whenever we mentioned them we explicitly wondered whether they were not “of the imam’s own making.” Certain Western mainstream media, however, such as the Australian network SBS and the British BBC authoritatively declared that the pigsnout was one of Jyllands-Posten’s cartoons.

Yesterday an American blogger discovered where the “pigsnout Muhammad” comes from. It has no relation to Muhammad whatsoever, it is not even a cartoon, but a fax image of a photo of a French clown performing at a pig festival.

"Muhammad" according to the imams

Denmark is being punished at the instigation of radical imams because twelve cartoonists have depicted Muhammad. However, these imams created their own three Muhammad images. They have even presented a French clown as being Muhammad. Because the twelve JP cartoonists are not Muslims, the Muslim blasphemy laws do not apply to them. But these laws do apply to the imams. Consequently, these imams deserve death. They – and no-one else – depicted the prophet as a pig – the highest imaginable insult in Islam.

In his letter of “apology” Jyllands-Posten editor Carsten Juste wrote:
“In our opinion the 12 cartoons were moderate and not intended to be insulting. They did not go against Danish laws, but have evidently offended many Muslims, for which we apologize. Meanwhile a couple of offending cartoons have circulated in the Muslim world which were never published in Jyllands-Posten and which we would never have published if they had been offered to us. We would have dismissed them on the grounds that they breached our ethical limits.”

Indeed, the three cartoons breaching the paper’s ethical limits have been made by fanatical Muslim clerics themselves in order to set the world ablaze and provoke a religious war with the West.

Even under Western law the Danish radical imams belong in jail. Their hate crime must be punished. The imams are the hate preachers who are responsible for the destruction and the fatalities that resulted from their lies and their blasphemy. One of these lying imams is Ahmed Abdel Rahman Abu Laban. He works as a translator and distributor of an al-Qaeda related publication.

Western papers and blogs that published the twelve cartoons were right to do so. If they had not published, no-one would have been able to ascertain that the pigsnout was not among them. If they had not published, the cheating, blasphemous imams would have got away with their lies. The public is served by information, never harmed by it. Let this be a lesson to the cowards of The Guardian, SBS, the BBC and the British and American mainstream media, who “out of respect” for Islam would have allowed blasphemous imams to get away with their gross insult of the prophet, with slander and libel, and with the violent acts which they instigated.

Meanwhile, Muslim moderates have established a website to apologize to Denmark and Norway (though in our opinion the Norwegian government does not deserve it).

They write: In the middle of all the mayhem surrounding the Danish cartoons controversy, a group of Arab and Muslim youth have set up this website to express their honest opinion, as a small attempt to show the world that the images shown of Arab and Muslim anger around the world are not representative of the opinions of all Arabs. We whole-heartedly apologize to the people of Denmark, Norway and all the European Union over the actions of a few, and we completely condemn all forms of vandalism and incitement to violence that the Arab and Muslim world have witnessed. We hope that this sad episode will not tarnish the great friendship that our peoples have fostered over decades.

Meanwhile, too, an American blogger is currently updating his “Country Report Card” on how the various governments and nations react to the cartoon scandal. He has given an A to the governments of Denmark, France and Germany; and an F to those of Norway, Britain and Poland. The U.S. government got a D. Governments that got grades below C should be ashamed of themselves.

Prophet Muhammad said “You do not do evil to those who do evil to you, but you deal with them with forgiveness and kindness." That description of Islam's Prophet Muhammad is a summary of how he reacted to personal attacks and abuse. Islamic traditions include a number of instances of the prophet having the opportunity to strike back at those who attacked him, but refraining from doing so. These traditions are particularly important as we witness outrage in the Islamic world over cartoons, initially published in a Danish newspaper, that were viewed as intentional attacks on the prophet.

Peaceful and not-so-peaceful protests have occurred from Gaza to Indonesia. Boycotts have targeted companies based in Denmark and in other nations that reprinted the offensive caricatures. We all, Muslims and people of other faiths, seem to be locked into a downward spiral of mutual mistrust and hostility based on self-perpetuating stereotypes.

As Muslims, we need to take a step back and ask ourselves, "What would the Prophet Muhammad do?"

Muslims are taught the story of the woman who would regularly throw trash on the prophet as he walked down a particular path. The prophet never responded in kind to the woman's abuse. Instead, when she one day failed to attack him, he went to her home to inquire about her condition.

A companion of the prophet noted his forgiving disposition. He said: "I served the prophet for ten years, and he never said 'uf' (a word indicating impatience) to me and never blamed me by saying, 'Why did you do so or why didn't you do so?'"
Even when the prophet was in a position of power, he chose the path of kindness and reconciliation. In the Quran, Islam's revealed text, God states: "When (the righteous) hear vain talk, they withdraw from it saying: 'Our deeds are for us and yours for you; peace be on to you. We do not desire the way of the ignorant'. . .O Prophet (Muhammad), you cannot give guidance to whom you wish, it is God Who gives guidance to whom He pleases, and He is quite aware of those who are guided." (28:55-56)

If you can't stand our culture - go home to your country...there you don't have to bear our point of view of freedom. You guys came to OUR countries, to OUR cultures...live with it or not. If you don't accept our cultures - go away.

And: who's terrorizing muslims nowadays ? I doubt it's Denmark, Germany or Norway. Don't get confused about things. The fact is that your cukture breads out terrorists who bomb buildings just because they're western. You don't get them under control - and it really seems a lot like it's a part of your culture to even support those guys.

I would like to know how you'd feel if we'd bomb muslim shops, burn your flags and even chase Muslims in our countries by the governments (I guess you know where Egypt and Sudan are..don't you ?).

For all those making gross generalizations about Islam: Please, for me, go speak with a muslim. They represent the second largest religion in the world, so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding one. Find out what he or she thinks about the violence before you condemn such a massive group en masse.

For Muslims out there who are willing to address this issue in the face of such hatred from others: We thank you. We know that your Islamic theology of tolerance and peace will ultimately prevail over extremist ideologues from both the North and the South Hemispheres...the West and the Middle East.

For both: Guess what, we don't live in seperate civilizations. We are one complete world together as a community. Words like "us" and "they" no longer apply. We ALL need to work together for peace in this world. This is not to say that Western values need to be adopted worldwide. Arab culture is rich in tradition and history. If it were not for Arabic scholarly advances, we would never even remember who Aristotle was today.

Alright, I am a Muslim and I am only 14 years old. Even I know that it is ridiculous what Muslim EXTREMISTS have done, but that is NOT what our religion preaches. Does any religion? No, but people from every religion have acted violently throughout history. It's just the way it is, and I am disgusted that right now certain Muslims are acting this way, but that definitely is not a reason to blame every Muslim for the actions of a few. If you were a teacher, would you punish an entire classroom just because two students skipped class? Of course not, what have the rest of the children done wrong? That is exactly what the situation today is and it is injustice to hold every Muslim responsible.

As for the cartoons, yes I am offended. Mohammed (pbuH) is a Prophet to Muslims, and it should be prohibited to depict Him in any way. Why? That's what muslims believe, and people should respect this. The practice of worshipping idols is not allowed whatsoever in Islam, and that is why so many Muslims have been offended just like me. But what about Hindu Gods and Buddha? The perspective changes with them. Their religions do allow them to be depicted and therefore Hindus and Buddhists should not be offended by pictures of them. The perspective changes, however, again when their depiction is in a cartoon and they are being disrespected in any way. If this is the case, Buddhists and Hindus should be allowed to speak up and stand up for their religion, but no violence should come out of this, and the offender should fess up and simply change the cartoon. It is simply a cartoon to him and everyone else, but to those who have been offended, it is much deeper than that. This is the exact same conflict occuring with the Danish cartoon. It simply should never have occured in the first place.

Why the European Press is Provoking Muslims

4 Feb 2006

In Response To: How "Jewish" Zionists Fuel Hostility to Muslims (ChristopherBollyn)

EUROPEAN MEDIA PROVOKES MUSLIMS TO INFLAME ZIONIST "CLASH OF CIVILIZATIONS"

by Christopher Bollyn American Free Press

Under the guise of free speech, a leading Danish newspaper published a dozen provocative anti-Islamic cartoons clearly designed to offend Muslims. The predictable result has greatly increased the possibility of violence and left Denmark in a costly and dangerous predicament.

Four months after Jyllands-Posten (JP), Denmark's most widely read morning paper, published 12 anti-Islamic cartoons, Danes woke up to the fact that there is a very high price to be paid for promoting the "clash of civilizations."

The fact that the editors behind the anti-Islamic images claim to be exercising free speech while refusing to address Europe's strict censorship laws regarding discussion of the Holocaust and the ongoing imprisonment of historical revisionists reveals the existence of a more sinister agenda behind the provocative cartoons.

"Agents of certain persuasion" are behind the egregious affront to Islam in order to provoke Muslims, Professor Mikael Rothstein of the University of Copenhagen told the BBC. The key "agent" is Flemming Rose, the cultural editor of JP, who commissioned cartoonists to produce the blasphemous images and then published them in Denmark's leading morning paper last September.

The International Herald Tribune, which reported on the offensive cartoons on January 1, noted that even the liberalism of Rose had its limits when it came to criticism of Zionist leaders and their crimes. Rose also has clear ties to the Zionist Neo-Cons behind the "war on terror."

Rose told the international paper owned by The New York Times that "he would not publish a cartoon of Israel's Ariel Sharon strangling a Palestinian baby, since that could be construed as 'racist.'"

Asked why he was protecting Sharon, a known war criminal, while abusing Muslims and their Prophet in the name of free speech, Rose told American Free Press that he had been "misquoted" in the Times article.

Rose traveled to Philadelphia in October 2004 to visit Daniel Pipes, the Neo-Con ideologue who says the only path to Middle East peace will come through a total Israeli military victory. Rose then penned a positive article about Pipes, who compares "militant Islam" with fascism and communism.

In April 2003, President George W. Bush nominated the rabid anti-Muslim Pipes to the board of the United States Institute of Peace, a congressionally sponsored think tank dedicated to "the peaceful resolution of international conflicts."

Ministers from 17 Muslim nations condemned the publication of the cartoons as an egregious "offence to Islam" and called on the Danish government to ensure that it would not be repeated.

When the Danish government, which supports the "war on terror" with more than 500 troops in Iraq, refused to issue an apology for the offensive cartoons, Muslim consumers across the Middle East began a boycott of Danish products.

Within days the boycott had severely affected Danish exporters and the politicians in Copenhagen scrambled to undo the damage. Arla Foods, a large Danish-Swedish dairy company, was badly hit by the boycott. The company, which had annual sales of some $480 million in the Middle East, saw its sales in the region plummet to nil as Muslim shopkeepers pulled Danish products off the shelves.

"We have taken 40 years to build up a very big business in the Middle East, and we've seen it come to a complete stop in five days," company spokeswoman Astrid Gade Niels told the BBC.

"Our sales in the Middle East have come to a complete stop - in all countries in the region," she said. "We have found ourselves in the middle of a game that we have no part in."

As the boycott damaged Danish business and a bomb scare closed the office of his newspaper, Rose continued to defend his decision to commission and publish the offensive cartoons. "We stand by the publication of these 12 cartoons," he said.

Asked if he would have done it knowing what the reaction would be, Rose said: "That is a hypothetical question. I would say that I do not regret having commissioned those cartoons and I think asking me that question is like asking a rape victim if she regrets wearing a short skirt Friday night at the discotheque."

The dangerous "game" that was started by the Danish editor has now been picked up by at least 7 newspapers across Europe. Supposedly in support of the Danes, papers in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland simultaneously reprinted the cartoons on February 1. The timing suggests that this response was coordinated by a hidden hand.

In Paris, for example, Arnaud Levy, editor-in-chief of the financially-strapped France-Soir, chose to print all 12 of the offensive cartoons. Asked if there had been coordination between European editors about the simultaneous publication of the cartoons, Levy said, "Absolutely not."

The following day, Jacques Lefranc, managing editor of France-Soir, was fired by the paper's owner Raymond Lakah, an Egyptian magnate, according to employees. Chief editor Levy, however, remained on the job.

Peter Mandelson, Trade Commissioner for the European Union, strongly reprimanded the newspapers for pouring "oil on the fire" by reprinting the offensive cartoons.

Robert MEnard, secretary general of Reporters without Borders, a Paris-based media monitor, however, supported the publication of the blasphemous cartoons saying, "All countries in Europe should be behind the Danes and Danish authorities to defend the principle that a newspaper can write what it wishes to, even if it offends people.

"I understand that it may shock Muslims, but being shocked is part of the price of being informed," he told The New York Times.

However, when it comes to discussion of the Holocaust, media monitors like MEnard accept without question the government-imposed censorship laws and imprisonment of historical revisionists. At least 4 well known historians are currently in prison in Germany and Austria for writing and speaking about the Holocaust.

There is clearly a more sinister reason why the Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen refuses to issue a formal apology as demanded by Arab and Muslim governments. The hard-line position taken by Rasmussen, an ally in the "war on terror," has more to do with advancing the "clash of civilizations" than defending free speech in Europe.

It is well known that Islam is an aniconic religion which prohibits depictions of the Prophet in the same way that the Second Commandment prohibits "graven images." The European editors are certainly aware of the fact that Islam prohibits the use of icons or visual images to depict living creatures and that it is blasphemous to publish cartoons of the prophet Mohammed. Yet, they have recklessly and intentionally insulted millions of Muslims and are unwilling to apologize.

"The Danish paper set out to offend and provoke outrage in the Muslim community," a Muslim in Britain wrote to the BBC. "Muslims are able to distinguish between those who wish to debate and those who wish to insult. Trying to camouflage insults under the guise of debate or free speech fools nobody."

There is a deeper reason behind the publication of the offensive cartoons. Given the unapologetic position taken by the Danish government and the editors it appears very likely that tension with Islamic nations will increase and the international crisis will deepen. This is, after all, exactly what the global planners behind the "clash of civilizations" want.

The completely predictable reaction among Muslims sets the stage for violence and "false-flag" terror attacks as Europeans prepare to host the Olympics in Turin, Italy. The Turin-based La Stampa irresponsibly published the cartoons on Feb. 1, two days after Milan's Corriere della Sera.

The anti-Islamic cartoon scandal is no laughing matter. If and when a terror attack does occur and the cartoons and angry Muslims are blamed for being the cause, the reason they were published will become clear. Europeans will become increasingly polarized and hostility to Islam will grow.

A month ago, when I first became aware of the provocative anti-Muslim cartoons published in JP, I immediately contacted the editors and asked why they had allowed their newspaper to be dragged into such a ridiculous and provocative situation.

With Europe already involved in two Middle Eastern wars and with the political tension with Iran increasing daily, I asked the editors, "Do you truly wish to antagonize Muslims?"

"I support freedom of speech and am against self-censorship," Rose, who commissioned the cartoons, wrote in response. It was, however, clearly not simply to exercise Denmark's non-existent freedom of speech that Rose commissioned the anti-Muslim cartoons. The more sinister motive of advancing the "clash of civilizations" among Europeans was evidently behind the offensive images.

"If the issue is really one of free speech, would you publish cartoons making fun of the Jewish Holocaust?" I asked Rose and the editors. "If not, do you at least support the right of newspapers and individuals to raise historical questions about the Holocaust?"

Yet after a month of correspondence with Rose and the editors, they have completely avoided answering my questions about the Holocaust and the right of free speech for historical revisionists in Europe.

Is US Military Dominance of the World a Good Idea?

By Peter Phillips

The leadership class in the US is now dominated by a neo-conservative group of some 200 people who have the shared goal of asserting US military power worldwide. This Global Dominance Group, in cooperation with major military contractors, has become a powerful force in military unilateralism and US political processes.

A long thread of sociological research documents the existence of a dominant ruling class in the US, which sets policy and determines national political priorities. C. Wright Mills, in his 1956 book on the power elite, documented how World War II solidified a trinity of power in the US that comprised corporate, military and government elites in a centralized power structure working in unison through "higher circles" of contact and agreement.

Neo-conservatives promoting the US Military control of the world are now in dominant policy positions within these higher circles of the US. Adbusters magazine summed up neo-conservatism as: "The belief that Democracy, however flawed, was best defended by an ignorant public pumped on nationalism and religion. Only a militantly nationalist state could deter human aggression …Such nationalism requires an external threat and if one cannot be found it must be manufactured."

In 1992, during Bush the First's administration, Dick Cheney supported Lewis Libby and Paul Wolfowitz in producing the "Defense Planning Guidance" report, which advocated US military dominance around the globe in a "new order." The report called for the United States to grow in military superiority and to prevent new rivals from rising up to challenge us on the world stage.

At the end of Clinton's administration, global dominance advocates founded the Project for a New American Century (PNAC). Among the PNAC founders were eight people affiliated with the number-one defense contractor Lockheed-Martin, and seven others associated with the number-three defense contractor Northrop Grumman. Of the twenty-five founders of PNAC twelve were later appointed to high level positions in the George W. Bush administration.

In September 2000, PNAC produced a 76-page report entitled Rebuilding America's Defenses: Strategy, Forces and Resources for a New Century. The report, similar to the 1992 Defense Policy Guidance report, called for the protection of the American Homeland, the ability to wage simultaneous theater wars, perform global constabulary roles, and the control of space and cyberspace. It claimed that the 1990s were a decade of defense neglect and that the US must increase military spending to preserve American geopolitical leadership as the world's superpower. The report also recognized that: "the process of transformation … is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event such as a new Pearl Harbor." The events of September 11, 2001 presented exactly the catastrophe that the authors of Rebuilding America' Defenses theorized were needed to accelerate a global dominance agenda. The resulting permanent war on terror has led to massive government defense spending, the invasions of two countries, and the threatening of three others, and the rapid acceleration of the neo-conservative plans for military control of the world.

The US now spends as much for defense as the rest of the world combined. The Pentagon's budget for buying new weapons rose from $61 billion in 2001 to over $80 billion in 2004. Lockheed Martin's sales rose by over 30% at the same time, with tens of billions of dollars on the books for future purchases. From 2000 to 2004, Lockheed Martins stock value rose 300%. Northrup-Grumann saw similar growth with DoD contracts rising from $3.2 billion in 2001 to $11.1 billion in 2004. Halliburton, wit
