George The Menace #3: Psychotic Fruitcakes Armed With Nuclear Weapons Seeking Urgent Therapy

Hello everyone!

This compilation is definitely the largest I've ever sent out to this list - over 108 pages! That's what happens when I skip a week. Sorry for the huge lump of reading material.

On the other hand, if you have time to review some of what I've put together for you, you'll certainly find many valuable nuggets - that's how it feel to me every time I stumble upon some amazing stuff or simply read the voluminous email correspondence I constantly receive. So, of course, you'll read about North Korea, Iran, the continuing (and really horrendous!) carnage in Iraq, the infamous Foley scandal (only the mere tip of the paedophilia iceberg floating around DC), and some really amazing revelations (or confirmations depending on your level of knowledge) as you'll find in the transcript of a recent interview with 'Henry Deacon'. There are also some pretty uplifting spiritual messages for good measure. But before you start reading all this, I'd like to include here for your review - this is pretty IMPORTANT I feel - the addition I made a couple days ago the to welcome message that is automatically emailed by the listserver system to each new subscriber. Since most of you will probably never have an opportunity to see it otherwise, here it is right away...

(...) In case you do not receive some parts of my compilations (split in several 20-page parts, because this automated listserver cannot handle larger emails) as it sometimes happens, please do not email me to request the missing parts. Go instead at http://www.earthrainbownetwork.com to access the missing material in the archived copy. Note also that the URL to access directly each new compilation is always included at the top of each part.

Finally, there is an important warning that you need to receive. If you are completely new to the kind of information I network, you may become disturbed by some aspects of what you will learn. People who rely solely on the mainstream media to form their understanding of the world we live in often are shocked to discover the duplicitous nature of what some governments are doing and have a hard time adjusting to this new information and the resulting paradigm shift thus required. Here is how I was summarizing this problem (in October 2006): "How can you expose people to such disheartening information while making sure they remain above, spiritually and emotionally speaking, this morass and derive from this even more resolve to manifest their unique contribution to global awakening and continue forging ahead in their own spiritual upliftment."

As you will see, when I feel it is necessary, I often include a short introductory comment to my compilations designed to help mitigate some of the worst demoralizing effects of some of the material in it. I also sometimes add additional comments to specific articles within the compilation. I usually strive to balance out the challenging information in each compilation with more uplifting material, but this is not always possible. The global Meditation Focus regularly suggested are a way for many people to achieve a sense of personal empowerment in the face of the many challenges of our time and they provide a unique opportunity to be of real service to help mitigate humanitarian crises and positively influence the course of events and the pace of spiritual awakening in this world. But in the end, each reader must come with her/his own personal way to deal with the harsher aspects of reality sometimes featured in my compilations.

Many subscribers over the years have provided precious contributions, inspirational material and advices on this matter and others, which I have been most happy to pass on in my compilations. You too may have some unique contributions to offer at some point which I'll be happy to review and network if I feel it is relevant to the overall awakening and empowerment process we are engaged in. Such contributions are always welcomed! Please note however that, due to the large volume of emails I continuously receive, I cannot allow everyone on this list to add me to their own personal e-list and thus forward me all kinds of stuff. You may send me *occasionally* material you feel would fit well into a compilation, but please, do not add me to your regular list of Cc.

It is my deeply held conviction that we are going to see a truly wonderful future unfold and my sense is that, instead of denying oneself the opportunity to be challenged by the knowledge of the often traumatic evolutionary experiences humanity is undergoing, we can gain the most spiritually from engaging ourselves as co-creators of a brighter future, individually, locally and even globally, and manifesting the unique and vital contribution to this process we are here to manifest.

Trusting the innate divine abilities we all have and being the best we can be in everything will be the saving grace of this world.

Be all That You Are and enjoy the ride!

"Again, dear Jean, thank you for your compilations. Somehow the Light shines so bright in you that you can compile the most sci-fi, terrible, unbelievable truths, and still convey the certainty that the Light shall prevail!"

- "Kathleen Beatty" akavibe@hotmail.com>

"The Light turned into the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen: a mandala of human souls on this planet. Now I came to this with my negative view of what has happened on the planet. So as I asked the light to keep clarifying for me, I saw in this magnificent mandala how beautiful we all are in our essence, our core. We are the most beautiful creations. The human soul, the human matrix that we all make together is absolutely fantastic, elegant, exotic, everything. I just cannot say enough about how it changed my opinion of human beings in that instant. I said, "Oh, God, I did not know how beautiful we are." At any level, high or low, in whatever shape you are in, you are the most beautiful creation, you are. I was astonished to find that there was no evil in any soul. I said "How can this be?" The answer was that no soul was inherently evil. The terrible things that happened to people might make them do evil things, but their souls were not evil. What all people seek, what sustains them, is love, the Light told me. What distorts people is a lack of love."

"The Democrats will not lead us out of Iraq. As heretical as this may sound, I am more afraid of the wrong Democrat winning the White House than I am the wrong Republican -- because then we will feel the need to support ‘our’ president, and his or her ‘difficult decisions’ on how to ‘do the right thing for Iraq’ and ‘withdraw with honor’. We will divide, and conquer ourselves. We know from Vietnam that there is no way to withdraw with honor from a corrupt war."

– Paul Haggis

"I cannot endorse strongly enough this report prepared by Karen Parker regarding U.S. war crimes in Iraq. Having witnessed much of what is so well documented in this report, it is a clear and encompassing indictment of the Bush Administration for the war crimes they are directly responsible for in Iraq. Until evidence such as this begins to see the light of day in a court of law and the perpetrators brought to justice, the world remains unsafe and unstable from an administration determined to rule the world. After witnessing what they are capable of in Iraq, I have no doubt these people will not stop in their quest for world domination.? Instead, they must be stopped. And the only way to do that is bring the guilty to justice. This document will help achieve that goal." Click here to read the report in full [pdf]

- Dahr Jamail, noted independent journalist who spent more than eight months reporting from occupied Iraq - Taken from http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article15261.htm

"After spending four days in the fortified and secure Green Zone, in Iraq, during September 06, former Secretary of State James Baker III assured that the investigative panel he led had not spent any time wringing our hands over what mistakes might or might not have been created in the past. (NYT, September 20, 2006). The Consumers for Peace report on war crimes committed in Iraq helps us understand our responsibility not to wring our hands but rather to demand accountability from elected representatives by delivering this report to them and to local media. How many people killed? How many families torn apart? How many homes destroyed? How many livelihoods gone? How many lives ruined? How many cities sacrificed? We bear responsibility to end the war in Iraq, insist on just reparations for suffering caused, and promote careful, legal scrutiny of the crimes committed. This report beckons all who read it to stop collaborating with illegal, immoral warmongers who recklessly afflict Iraq." http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article15261.htm

"I charge that the government is engaged in immoral and criminal conduct on a global scale. That it does not conform to the norms of civil society; that it is sociopathic, and flagrantly violates domestic and international law. The form of government that we have does not serve the citizenry˜it preys upon them. It is not a government of the people, for the people. It is government of the corporations, for the corporations, by the corporations˜a corporate Plutocracy."

- Charles Sullivan -- Taken from The Assassins of Truth

"Light is shining on Earth more brightly than ever before in the current, multi-millennial epoch. Men and women all over the planet, from every nation, every religion, and every culture, are lovingly grounding this Light. It is not organizational; it is organic. It is the Light of a spiritual revolution that is changing the world forever, ushering in an unprecedented age of peace and prosperity for all. Yes, we are on the threshold of the Golden Age that has been promised throughout human history. Global societies, even with all of the technological advancements in our generation, have long lived in spiritual darkness and ignorance. Our religions, though based on nuggets of truth, contain many serious distortions of both God and Man. Our governments have not really been the benign influence many may have imagined. Together, religion and politics (which we have been told we are not supposed to talk about—more on that later) have attempted to control humanity for the benefit of those who sit at the top of the heap, so to speak. These have deceived, plundered, conspired, and used force to keep humanity in its place. They have mastered manipulation of entire populations through guilt and fear. Their “largeness” is maintained by convincing others they are too small and stupid to take control of their own lives, which, unfortunately, most humans readily accept as true. This Light that shines everywhere is revealing the distortions and misconceptions. Essentially, it is unmasking the puppet masters who have been pulling our strings for millennia. People are finally becoming able to see behind the curtains and into the ivory towers of those who have ruled by the so-called “divine right of kings” and priests. What is it that we are seeing? It’s even seeping into the mainstream news: gross corruption at the highest levels of government and religion. Our leadership is sick and out of touch; and they are desperately trying to maintain their illusion of control. Their charade is ending; and even force will not prevail against the Power of Truth manifest in and by the Light of Love. There will be no more hiding places as every secret abomination gets revealed."

I met Aaron Russo at the Friday night showing. Because of the removal of the Right to Habeas Corpus, the government can now arrest you, in your home and without a warrant, and incarcerate you without honoring your request for a lawyer. You can disappear for as long as they wish to hold you and you have no recourse. Aaron said that due to this, his plan of theatre release will take too much time to get this film to the public so he will place it on the Internet for free. Good to his word, Aaron Russo has made the America: Freedom to Fascism movie available, free, on the Internet. Also, you will find on the same page, two other movies that will give insight on how our Republic and our Sovereignty has been compromised so that now we are on the brink of slavery to a one world dictatorship. This is a must see film and I urge you to take advantage of this opportunity. Recommended by Leonard Spade lspade@msn.com>

U. K.'s Last 2006 Wheat Formation - A Mayan "Lamat"? (FASCINATING STUFF!)
http://earthfiles.com/news/news.cfm?ID=1151&category=Environment
(...) That day the moon, Earth, the Sun, the Pleiades will be aligned and we will be, according to the Mayans, in direct alignment with the center of our galaxy. For that reason, it is a very important astronomical day. We found that eclipse date in the 2005 Wayland’s Smithy formation. For that reason, my geologist friend, Calderon, considers that this Etchilhampton message is related to the message at Wayland’s Smithy. He is considering that Lamat is probably the sign of the change of the era, the end and beginning of the new era. According to codex information, the transition of the Lamat end of the big calendar will start with the solar eclipse on May 20, 2012. And we know that the calendar of the Mayan will finish in December. We also have to remember that we are moving toward a very big cycle of the Sun, the Solar Maximum. According to many scientists around the world, this one is going to be spectacular, very strong. We have to remember the Mayan prophecies told us that the Sun, would more or less take out of balance all the natural systems of the Earth. This would change the conditions of the Earth and our civilization. CLIP

A COSMIC OPPORTUNITY FOR DIVINE GOVERNMENT (For those who believe in this...)

Note from Jean: I personally believe this very imaginative idea is bogus but, from the numerous forwards I got, apparently many people feel otherwise. See for yourself... More details below...

Missions 1017 (Posted Sept 13)
http://sethd8.wordpress.com/2006/09/13/mission-1017
A cosmic trigger event is occurring on the 17th of October 2006 - NUMEROUS comments posted there including this one...

"Hey … October 17 could be just another day like any other … but then again, maybe it won’t be. Does it REALLY matter if this started out as something “real” or not or just as someone’s imaginative idea of what would be nice to have happen? I don’t think the source of this idea does matter; what matters is HOW WE EACH FEEL INDIVIDUALLY ABOUT IT! If you believe that we manifest our own realities, then it certainly can’t hurt to spend some time sending out positive thoughts and wishes at the same time as a million other souls on Earth … and who knows, it just might help. I plan to put some extra effort into my thoughts, prayers, and blessings that day, just in case I can help a good thought become part of a great reality. After all, every little drop of Love adds to the ocean of support that keeps us all afloat."

and this one...

"Well, why don’t we create Mission 365.25?! That is, every single moment of our lives we live as though all is One, is Peace and is Love? I read a book by Walter Russell a while back, called the Universal One. Time is an illusion. The power of Love is at the neutral center, and it is from that point that twin cycles in nature commence. There would be no need to say “ok, it’s gonna be 17th October, I’m gonna send out a UV beam”. Some people know that they can make a name for themselves by preaching peace and love, and by securing a little slice of the action by having a channelled message and getting people to believe it. We want to believe because we all want a change. Let’s make it from that place we are all One, the neutral center, and then apply it to the fullness of the cycles, all year round. Of course it is 17th October, and 18th and 19th etc."

N Korea carries out nuclear test (Oct 9)
http://tinyurl.com/n3oqj
NORTH Korea has this afternoon detonated a nuclear device despite global warnings that it would bring a powerful response from the international community.

All Nine Nuclear Powers Are Violating Non-Proliferation Treaty
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/100906A.shtml
"As North Korea becomes the eighth confirmed nuclear power (Israel is not confirmed but considered the ninth) some of the blame has to go to the original five nuclear powers," writes Scott Galindez. "When the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty went into effect in 1970, the five countries who had nuclear bombs - the US, France, China, Great Britain, and the USSR - agreed to work to reduce and eventually eliminate their nuclear arsenals. Now, 36 years later, no disarmament talks are taking place between those countries."

Kim's Message: War is coming to US soil
By Kim Myong Chol
("Unofficial" spokesman of Kim Jong-il and North Korea.)
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article15230.htm
It is sheer illusion to think that sanctions and isolation will stop North Korea from the planned nuclear test. US hostility, threats and sanctions are the very engines that have propelled the development of nuclear weapons. Absent US hostility, nuclear blackmailing, sanctions, threats of isolation and regime change, the Kim administration would never have thought at all of acquiring nuclear deterrence.

Nuclear Blackmail
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article15243.htm
North Korea has repeatedly agreed to junk its nuclear weapons provided the US does three things: 1. deal directly with Pyongyang, which Washington refuses to do; 2. provide security guarantees that the US will not attack North Korea; 3. provide economic aid. The Bush Administration's hard-line neoconservatives refuse to validate‚ North Korea's totalitarian regime through direct talks. Neocons are determined to overthrow Kim Jong-il.

Ambling towards Disaster; Bush's North Korea Policy
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article15240.htm
It took 6 years of relentless threats, sanctions and belligerence, but Bush finally succeeded in pushing Kim Jong-Il to build North Korea's first nuclear bomb. Now, Kim can just add a few finishing touches to his ballistic-missile delivery system, the Taepo-dong ICBM, and he'll be able to wipe out the 9 western states with a flip of the switch.

US push for air strikes (Oct 10)
http://tinyurl.com/lh5mu
PENTAGON hawks will try to persuade US President George W. Bush he should order immediate military air strikes to obliterate North Korean nuclear sites. (...) He said the problem the US faced in attacking would be North Korean leader Kim Jong-il's promise to turn South Korean capital Seoul into "a sea of fire" and the potential for it to launch missiles on Japan.Dr Ayson said the US had 37,000 troops in South Korea and casualties would be high. Pyongyang had an estimated 80,000 artillery pieces concentrated on the area and may use non-conventional chemical weapons.Despite the risks, Dr Ayson, a specialist in North Asian strategy, said the US military option was a real possibility, given Mr Bush has said he could not tolerate a nuclear North Korea."Military action is now more likely after the test, but is probably less than 50 per cent (likely)," Dr Ayson said.US intelligence sources said the Bush Administration was considering naval action around North Korea, stopping short of a blockade but intercepting and inspecting all ships off the peninsula.Analysts estimate North Korea may have enough nuclear material for a dozen weapons and has built two or three, but is yet to miniaturise them enough for long-range missiles. The major threat its nuclear capacity posed was the potential for it to sell a bomb to a terrorist group that would sail it to a US port, or the possibility for it to drop a device from an aircraft over a major city. Bush's Nuclear Apocalypse
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article15245.htm
The aircraft carrier Eisenhower, accompanied by the guided-missile cruiser USS Anzio, guided-missile destroyer USS Ramage, guided-missile destroyer USS Mason and the fast-attack submarine USS Newport News, is, as I write, making its way to the Straits of Hormuz off Iran. The ships will be in place to strike Iran by the end of the month. It may be a bluff. It may be a feint. It may be a simple show of American power. But I doubt it.

The October Surprise (October 3)
http://informationclearinghouse.info/article15206.htm
It should come as no surprise if the Bush Administration undertakes a preemptive war against Iran sometime before the November election. Were these more normal times, this would be a stunning possibility, quickly dismissed by thoughtful people as dangerous, unprovoked, and out of keeping with our national character. But we do not live in normal times. And we do not have a government much concerned with our national character. If anything, our current Administration is out to remake our national character into something it has never been. The steps will be these: Air Force tankers will be deployed to fuel B-2 bombers, Navy cruise missile ships will be positioned at strategic points in the northern Indian Ocean and perhaps the Persian Gulf, unmanned drones will collect target data, and commando teams will refine those data. The latter two steps are already being taken. Then the president will speak on national television. He will say this: Iran is determined to develop nuclear weapons; if this happens, the entire region will go nuclear; our diplomatic efforts to prevent this have failed; Iran is offering a haven to known al Qaeda leaders; the fate of our ally Israel is at stake; Iran persists in supporting terrorism, including in Iraq; and sanctions will have no affect (and besides they are for sissies). He will not say: ...and besides, we need the oil. Therefore, he will announce, our own national security and the security of the region requires us to act. "Tonight, I have ordered the elimination of all facilities in Iran that are dedicated to the production of weapons of mass destruction....." In the narrowest terms this includes perhaps two dozen targets. But the authors of the war on Iraq have "regime change" in mind in Iran. According to Colonel Sam Gardiner (author of "The End of the 'Summer of Diplomacy': Assessing U.S. Military Options in Iran," The Century Foundation, 2006) to have any hope of success, such a policy would require attacking at least 400 targets, including the Revolutionary Guard. But even this presumes the Iranian people will respond to a massive U.S. attack on their country by overthrowing their government. Only an Administration inspired by pre-Enlightenment fantasy could believe a notion such as this.(...) In more rational times, including at the height of the Cold War, bizarre actions such as unilateral, unprovoked, preventive war are dismissed by thoughtful, seasoned, experienced men and women as mad. But those qualities do not characterize our current leadership. For a divinely guided president who imagines himself to be a latter day Winston Churchill (albeit lacking the ability to formulate intelligent sentences), and who professedly does not care about public opinion at home or abroad, anything is possible, and dwindling days in power may be seen as making the most apocalyptic actions necessary.

Nuclear Umbrella? The Peril of Missile Defense
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article15284.htm
The US will spend some $9 billion this year to develop ballistic missile defenses, with $9.3 billion slated for next year. Total US military spending exceeds half a trillion dollars for 2006. The September 16, 2006 International Herald Tribune reports that the US now spends more on its military than does the rest of the world combined.

War or Rumors of War?
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article15226.htm
According to Time, the Navy has issued "Prepare to Deploy Orders" (PTDOs) to a strike group including minesweepers, a submarine, an Aegis class cruiser, and a mine hunter. Taken alongside disclosures that the chief of naval operations asked his planners for a rundown of how a blockade of Iranian oil ports would work, these military preparations led Time to conclude cautiously that the United States "may be preparing for war with Iran."

Lebanon- Prelude to the Rape of Iran
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article15229.htm
An October attack would rally the US public around the currently unpopular Republican Congress and undercut the hapless Democratic Party whose virtually only appeal is "anti-Bush". It would also undermine the attempt of Iran to establish its oil bourse, a move that would bring Iran an additional $10 billion in revenues, and that some think would help undermine the US dollar as the world reserve currency.

Foley Scandal a Disaster for GOP
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/100306K.shtml
Republican strategists said yesterday that public revulsion over the sexually graphic online conversations between Congressman Mark Foley (R-Fla.) and former House pages could compound the party's problems enough to tip the House to the Democrats in November - and could jeopardize the party's hold on the Senate as well.

Foley's Behavior No Secret on Capitol Hill (October 1, 2006) http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/story?id=2514770
[Congressman] Foley's obsession with 16- and 17-year-old male pages has been known to Republicans on Capitol Hill for at least five years. But other than issue a warning, little else seems to have been done about the congressman. A former page has come forward to tell ABC News warnings were issued about Foley to the pages in 2001. Internet messages [were] sent by Foley to three different pages after that warning. Two of them were sent to pages in the 2001-2002 class, with sexually explicit messages, most too graphic to be broadcast, from Foley using the screen name Maf54. "Maf54: To be honest, I am a little to interested in you. So that's why I need to back off a little. Teen: Ya slow things down a little im still young - like under 18. don't want to do anything illegal - im not 18. Maf54: cool..dont forget to measure for me." [This last sentence was] a reference to his request that the page provide the ! measurements of his sexual organ, a request he repeatedly made to another page as well. Former pages tell ABC News the pages involved with Foley were afraid to offend the powerful Republican congressman. It's possible Foley could end up being prosecuted under laws he helped to enact as the co-chairman of the House caucus on Missing and Exploited Children. Note: If you want to know the degree of sexual corruption which reaches to the highest levels in government, see the incredibly well done Discovery Channel documentary Conspiracy of Silence available free online at http://www.WantToKnow.info/060501conspiracyofsilence (More on this below in "The Dark Side of the Stone")

Rice More Sordid Than Foley
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/100406K.shtml
"They are such liars," writes Robert Scheer. "In his book, Woodward described an encounter between Rice and Tenet, in a near panic about a rising flood of intelligence warnings just presented to him by top aide Cofer Black. Tenet forced an unscheduled meeting with Rice on July 10, 2001, because he wanted the Bush administration to take action immediately against Al Qaeda to disrupt a possible domestic attack."

The Tipping Point
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/100406R.shtml
"This Foley scandal may well become the tipping point that drives this catastrophically dangerous Republican party out of power in Congress come November, and may finally unleash an avalanche that will sweep some degree of accountability back into government," writes William Rivers Pitt.

In House Races, More GOP Seats Are Seen at Risk
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/100706Y.shtml
At least five more Republican Congressional seats are in serious contention, analysts said Friday, as signs that the Congressional page scandal are sapping the enthusiasm of a group essential to Republican victories in 2002 and 2004: religious conservatives.

The White House and Mr. Abramoff
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/100906Y.shtml
The New York Times: "The sordid Mark Foley controversy has diverted public attention from another major Washington ethics scandal - the influence peddling involving the disgraced former superlobbyist Jack Abramoff. That's good news for the Bush administration, given freshly heightened suspicion that its dealings with Mr. Abramoff and his sleazy K Street operation were far cozier than it is willing to admit."

A New "Night of Long Knives?"
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/101006T.shtml
Larry C. Johnson says: "It looks like Republican homosexuals who work on the Hill are being set up as the ultimate scapegoat for the electoral disaster awaiting the Republicans in November. It remains to be seen whether there will be a purge, albeit a bloodless one, of homosexual staffers, but the tale of the rocky relationship between Adolf Hitler and the co-founder of the Nazis, Ernst Roehm, who also led the Storm Troopers offers some fascinating parallels."

Elections in the USA: Justice And The Perversion of Justice

In a month in which the US Congress voted to legalize torture, discard the US Constitution by abolishing habeas corpus and increase the military budget to prolong the daily slaughter of hundreds of Iraqis and Afghanis, the big controversy among the mass media and elected officials is the sexual overtures of a Republican Congressman to adolescent boys employed by Congress.

Chicago Academy Publishers has just released a book version of my Report on Bush Administration abuses, which they have entitled George W. Bush versus the U.S. Constitution. The blockbuster book is nearly one year in the making and more than 280 pages, including an introduction by Ambassador Joe Wilson. In only 33 days we will experience the most important election of my lifetime. We can continue down the same path of abusive one-party rule, or we can vote for change and accountability. For the last two years, from the election debacle in Ohio, the Downing Street Memos revelations, the shame of Abu Ghraib, the smearing of Valerie Plame, disclosures of illegal domestic spying, and more, I have heard your concerns and done everything within my power to expose the wrongdoing, deceptions, and power grabs in Washington. Help Me Help Democrats Retake the House. Now I need your support to help the Democrats retake the House. This is our best opportunity in the last 12 years, and I firmly believe that if we have the resources to combat the GOP spin and attack machines we will be victorious in November. Please donate to my campaign and you can also receive a complimentary signed copy of the edited version of the George W. Bush versus the U.S. Constitution book or a "John Conyers is My Congressman" bumper sticker. Thank you. Your Friend, John Conyers, Jr. -- Recommended by EdElkin@aol.com

Military Commissions Act Shames the Constitution and Weakens America
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/101106P.shtml
Stephen Rohde writes: "The Military Commission Act is breathtaking in its denial of fundamental rights under the Constitution and international law. The law re-establishes virtually intact President Bush's military tribunals, which were rejected by the Supreme Court as unconstitutional."

The US Enabling Act (10/01/2006)
http://www.buzzflash.com/articles/jonas/019
It was an event little noted by persons other than those of us who are devoted to the American Dream of Constitutional Democracy. But it will be long remembered by the whole world, if there is a future history to record it. On Sept. 29, 2006, the Congress of the United States passed what can be termed "The US Enabling Act." It is the equivalent of the Act by the same name passed by the German Reichstag on March 23, 1933. The latter gave the German Chancellor, Adolf Hitler, the power to over-ride the protections for freedom and liberty written into the German (Weimar) Constitution of the time, if he determined that so doing was necessary to protect the nation from terrorism and "actions endangering the state." It was under that Act, of course, that Hitler established his dictatorship. CLIP

Why Does Habeas Corpus Hate America
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/101206J.shtml
Keith Olbermann discusses habeas corpus and examines the founding fathers' words: "'Depriving us of Trial by Jury' was actually considered sufficient cause to start a War of Independence, based on the then-fashionable idea that 'liberty' was an unalienable right."

The End of the U.S. as a Civilized Nation
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article15283.htm
The recently passed Military Commissions Act removes the United States from the ranks of civilized nations. It codifies racial and political discrimination, legalizes kidnapping and torture of those the government deems its political enemies, and eliminates habeas corpus--the ancient precept that prevents the police from arresting and holding you without cause--a basic protection common to all (other) modern legal systems, and one that dates to the Magna Carta.

655,000 Iraqis Dead Since US Invasion
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/101106L.shtml
Epidemiologists estimate that 655,000 more people have died in Iraq since coalition forces arrived in March 2003 than would have died if the invasion had not occurred. This is more than 20 times the estimate of 30,000 civilian deaths that President Bush gave in a speech in December.

Escalating violence in Iraq prompts UN aid official to call for urgent help from leaders (11 October 2006)
http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.asp?NewsID=20218&Cr=iraq&Cr1=
The violence inside Iraq has “spiralled totally out of control,” the United Nations’ top humanitarian official said today as he appealed to the country’s religious, ethnic and other community leaders to do much more to try to stop the killings and massive displacement of people. At least 315,000 people have fled their homes in the past seven or eight months, driven by military operations or sectarian violence that has escalated since a key Shiite shrine in Samarra was bombed in February, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Jan Egeland told a press briefing in Geneva.Armed sectarian militias and death squads murder an average of 100 people every day, he added, noting that no segment of society was immune. “These are police and their recruits, these are judges, these are lawyers, these are journalists, and there are increasingly women,” he said. “And the latter group is particularly targeted for so-called honour killings… Revenge killings seem now to be totally out of control.” There are now thought to be 1.5 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) within Iraq, as well as an estimated 1.2 to 1.5 million Iraqi refugees in neighbouring countries. Each day as many as 2,000 people cross the border into Syria as the trend accelerates. CLIP

War Crimes Report Shows US Violations of International Law - Demands Prosecution of US Military and Civilian Leaders
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article15261.htm
The violence of the Iraq War, the chaos that has come to Iraq, can be traced directly to the illegality of the invasion and occupation of that country and the illegality of the tactics and weapons being used to maintain the occupation. U.S. War Crimes in Iraq and Mechanisms for Accountability documents these violations and calls on us all to demand investigation and prosecution of violations of international law by military and civilian leaders.

The Ground Truth: "A Cinematic Call to Arms"
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/101106F.shtml
"The Ground Truth: After the Killing Ends" takes an unflinching look at the training and dehumanization of US soldiers, and how they struggle to come to terms with it when they come back home. This film overrides familiar images of heroic soldiers in battle and their overjoyed returning faces as they reunite with their families with one effortless stroke. Instead, we see a scenario that includes illness, amputation and injury, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), of which Iraq has become a fertile breeding ground. While America's poor treatment of veterans is not news to most, "The Ground Truth" makes it so personal and real, it is impossible to dismiss its characters simply as war statistics.

Vote Democratic and Always Carry a Toothbrush
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/100406N.shtml
Dave Lindorff writes, "Congress, with almost no discussion, has just approved a law ostensibly about authorizing military tribunals for alleged terrorists, which actually went way beyond that bad enough end run on the Constitution to include giving the president the Congressional sanction to torture captives and, as well, the power to snatch up any American citizen and declare her or him to be an 'unlawful combatant,' devoid of Constitutional rights."

The Deeper Evil Behind the Detainee Bill
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/100206A.shtml
Chris Floyd writes: "It was a dark hour indeed on Thursday when the United States Senate voted to end the constitutional republic and transform the country into a 'Leader-State,' giving the president and his agents the power to capture, torture and imprison forever anyone - American citizens included - whom they arbitrarily decide is an 'enemy combatant.' This also includes those who merely give 'terrorism' some kind of 'support,' defined so vaguely that many experts say it could encompass legal advice, innocent gifts to charities or even political opposition to US government policy within its draconian strictures."

The Day America Died (September 29, 2006)

Actually, our country died on December 12, 2000, when a partisan Supreme Court, instead of addressing the widespread disenfranchisement of voters, instead decided to give the presidency to George W. Bush. But the final nail in the coffin of America was hammered in yesterday, when the Senate decided to give a president who has said on at least three separate occasions that he could like to be a dictator and whose spokesman once said, "If you're not with us, you're against us" and "People should watch what they say, watch what they do" absolute and unilateral authority to decide who is an enemy of the state. Now That You Could be Labeled an Enemy Combatant... (Oct 4)
http://www.commondreams.org/views06/1004-35.htm
Since Congress recently handed Bush the power to identify American citizens as "unlawful enemy combatants" and detain them indefinitely without charge, it's worth examining the administration's record of prisoner abuse as well as the building of stateside detention centers. (...) In 2002, wacko former Attorney General John Ashcroft called for the indefinite detainment of US citizens he considered to be "enemy combatants," and while widely criticized at the time, Congress went ahead and fulfilled Ashcroft's nefarious vision last week. Ashcroft had also called for stateside internment camps, and accordingly, in January 2006 the US government awarded a Halliburton subsidiary $385 million to build detention centers to be used for, "an unexpected influx of immigrants or to house people after a natural disaster or for new programs that require additional detention space." New programs that require additional detention space. Hmm.The disgraceful Military Commissions Act and the building of domestic internment camps are yet more examples of blowback from the administration's so-called war on terror, and we ignore these increasing assaults on our civil liberties at our own peril.

Tenet Warned Congress in February 2001 About al-Qaeda
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/100206Y.shtml
Jason Leopold reports that in February 2001, seven months before 9/11, George Tenet, then the director of the CIA, testified before Congress and told lawmakers that the single greatest threat to the United States was Osama bin Laden and his al-Qaeda network, according to a little known copy of Tenet's Congressional testimony. During his report to Congress, Tenet eerily described a scenario that seven months later would become a grim reality.

Condi Rice, 9/11 and Another Nest of Lies
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/100206X.shtml
William Rivers Pitt writes: "Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice may have committed perjury in her testimony before the 9/11 Commission in May of 2004. At a minimum, her testimony was a convenient mishmash of half-truths and omissions which served to paint the White House as innocent bystanders as the attacks of 9/11 unfolded."

The mystery of America (October 8, 2006)
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/771541.html
It happens once every few months. Like a periodic visit by an especially annoying relative from overseas, Condoleezza Rice was here again. The same declarations, the same texts devoid of content, the same sycophancy, the same official aircraft heading back to where it came from. The results were also the same: Israel promised in December, after a stormy night of discussions, to open the "safe passage" between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. This time, in what was considered the "achievement" of the current visit, Israel also promised to open the Karni crossing. Karni will be open, one can assume, only slightly more than the "safe passage," which never opened following the previous futile visit. Rice has been here six times in the course of a year and a half, and what has come of it? Has anyone asked her about this? Does she ask herself? It is hard to understand how the secretary of state allows herself to be so humiliated. It is even harder to understand how the superpower she represents allows itself to act in such a hollow and useless way. The mystery of America remains unsolved: How is it that the United States is doing nothing to advance a solution to the most dangerous and lengthiest conflict in our world? How is it that the world's only superpower, which has the power to quickly facilitate a solution, does not lift a finger to promote it? CLIP

A Rush to Medicate Young Minds
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/06/AR2006100601391.html?referrer=emailarticle
I have been treating, educating and caring for children for more than 30 years, half of that time as a child psychiatrist, and the changes I have seen in the practice of child psychiatry are shocking. Psychiatrists are now misdiagnosing and overmedicating children for ordinary defiance and misbehavior. The temper tantrums of belligerent children are increasingly being characterized as psychiatric illnesses. Using such diagnoses as bipolar disorder, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and Asperger's, doctors are justifying the sedation of difficult kids with powerful psychiatric drugs that may have serious, permanent or even lethal side effects. There has been a staggering jump in the percentage of children diagnosed with a mental illness and treated with psychiatric medications. (...) According to psychiatrist Jennifer Harris, quoted in the January/February issue of Psychotherapy Networker, "Many clinicians find it easier to tell parents their child has a brain-based disorder than to suggest parenting changes." Parents and teachers today seem to believe that any boy who wriggles in his seat and willfully defies his teacher's rules has ADHD. Likewise, any child who has a temper tantrum is diagnosed with bipolar disorder. After all, an anger outburst is how most parents define a "mood swing." Contributing to this widespread problem of misdiagnosis is the doctor's willingness to accept, without question, the assessment offered by a parent or teacher. What was once a somber, heart-wrenching decision for a parent and something children often resisted -- medicating a child's mind -- has now become a widely used technique in parenting a belligerent child. As if they were debating parental locks on the home computer or whether to allow a co-ed sleepover, parents now share notes with each other about whose child is taking what pill for which diagnosis. These days parents cruise the Internet, take self-administered surveys, diagnose their children and choose a medication before they ever set foot in the psychiatrist's office. If the first doctor doesn't prescribe what you want, the next one will. CLIP

Note from Jean: There is so much difficult information to consider in this compilation that I feel it is essential, before you go any further into this, that you take a couple minutes to read this quite IMPORTANT message channeled through Mike Quinsey and kindly recommended to my attention by Florence Chapgier - It will add a measure of balance to the rest...

Diane - 10 October 2006

The times you are in at present are a far cry from those more spiritual periods in your past, when many of you were aware of the truth. Cycles have always allowed for both the dark and Light to hold a prominent and leading position. You will however find that neither can hold it indefinitely, and each is allowed to challenge the other. Without that allowance there would be little spiritual growth, whereas even in your present experience you have grown whilst they have been in opposition to each other.

The result is that every opportunity is given for spiritual understanding and enlightenment. Clearly there must ultimately be a point reached where one has to concede to the other. That time is rapidly approaching and although it may not be apparent to many of you, the Light is embracing more people than ever before and they are responding to it. This in turn brings even more Light to bear upon those enmeshed with the dark forces, and they are finding themselves unable to maintain their position.

It is both fortuitous and ironic that those who choose to create chaos for others, are now themselves under so much pressure that they are losing their hold. When an edifice starts to crumble, at first it is very slight and hardly noticeable. However, in the course of time cracks appear elsewhere and suddenly with little warning it completely collapses. Your dark forces are close to such a collapse, and we would ask you to be alert and you will sense when it is about to happen. We have often given you clear indications that the changes would come quickly, so allow for our depth of knowledge to be able to advise you as to what is happening on Earth.

We have been instrumental in stopping an escalation of the Middle East War much to the chagrin of those who have planned it. We are the invisible forces that serve the Light, and often there is no outer indication of our activities. This is very disconcerting for the dark that are sometimes at their wits end in knowing how to deal with us. Of course you frequently see our craft in your skies, and it serves a dual purpose by letting you know of our benign presence, and also signals to the dark that we can come and go with impunity.

We are very active dealing with conditions on Earth that threaten your very existence. Have no fear, as we are used to holding the balance for you. If we were authorized to do so, we would dearly love to bring the dark forces to heel, but what has been put into being must also be cleared with your participation and not just simply ours alone.

The greater meaning to life is one of experiencing that which adds to your spiritual growth. Even as an outsider learning of other peoples problems, you are expanding your understanding about it. You subconsciously "sort" out what goes into it, and from it you are continually shifting your position. You will only need to look back some 20 years or so, and if you are a seeker of the truth you will surely recognize that you have changed.

Keeping an open mind and being prepared to question your present day understanding, is the key to ensuring that you continue to evolve. Do not necessarily be influenced by others regardless of what position they hold. Be prepared to weigh up what is presented to you, and intuitively take that which adds to your knowledge. Your truth may be following a different course to someone else's, so do not feel that you are a lesser Being if you cannot fully accept their teaching. It is so important that you take responsibility for your own beliefs and understanding, and realize that you are all unique.

There is but the one Truth, and finding it seems to cause many of you so much soul searching. Take one step at the time, and all will eventually fall into place. Deep within, each of you hold the truth and you are constantly revealing it to yourself. Over eons of time you have simply lost touch with your Higher Selves, as the dark vibration has often reduced your glorious Light to just a flicker. However, know that your Light is indestructible and is your assurance of infinite life.

One day soon you shall clearly understand the journey through duality, and when you do so none of the heartache and sadness that you experienced will remain. It will all eventually seem as a mere moment in time, and that you have never really left the higher dimensions at all. In them your whole demeanor will be different to the way you view things at present. There is no place for negative vibrations, and indeed you cannot go forward with them. This is why you are presently spending much of your time dealing with karmic responsibilities.

As a background to what is happening the great forces of Light are amassed all around you, and will play their part in ensuring that the Creator's plan for these end times is fulfilled. How can anyone doubt that the Light will be successful when such powerful Beings hold your future in their hands. It just seems at times that the dark have a free hand to do what they like, and this may indeed be how they view their actions. Be assured that it is not the case, and there are many limitations placed upon them.

This period of intense and dramatic happenings all over your world is the last attempt of the dark forces to take control. They will not succeed and as they overreach themselves in desperation, they will lay down the very opportunities that will present the Light with their chance to remove them. Little can move forward whilst the Illuminati and their minions hold positions of power. This is why their removal is of vital importance, and why the plans that will follow on are fully ready. Once the initial changes have taken place you will find matters speeding ahead.

The Lightworkers and all of those in anyway actively connected with the coming period, are accompanied by many Guides who surround you with love. They inspire you to forge ahead, and most importantly fulfill your life plans and your commitment to bringing Light to Earth. For many this lifetime is the culmination of many previous ones that have prepared you precisely for this most important time. Ascension is your goal and failure is not an option for those who have prepared to travel the full path to success. Be assured that if you have aspired to ascend at the completion of this cycle, you will do so. Once that decision has been made, you are effectively already there. Remember that Ascension takes place on many levels, and it is not just your solar system that is involved, but also your Universe.

You will have noticed that the Earth is relatively quiet at present, but again this is largely due to our presence and efforts to dampen down the likelihood of a major incident. To some extent you are also instrumental in shaping the outcome, as your collective consciousness provides an energy that can trigger events. With so much negativity upon Earth the balance is very fine between the dark and Light. To your credit, the Light is expanding and it will continue to do so, thus guaranteeing your victory.

I am Diane of the Galactic Federation, and wish you to know that we are ready to reveal ourselves, once the correct and agreed approach has been made to those who considered to be worthy of their appointment to positions of leadership. Once they are in place, we know that we will receive the authorization needed to go ahead with a multitude of changes. These will ensure that the promises made to you will be kept, and we shall fully cooperate together in the knowledge of the Creator's plan for you all.

Dear Ones, I assure you we are in full realization of your predicaments, but be patient in the knowing that your destiny is a pathway amongst the stars which are your true home. The Earth has served you well and your appreciation of what Mother Earth has done for you, will be shown by your willingness to ensure that the Earth is fully restored so that she may ascend with you. There really is a Universal Love that enfolds you, which we hold in our hearts for you all. Go about your work with the assurance of ones who know your lighted path is beckoning to you now, and that the portal is opening to the marvels, happiness and joy of the Golden Age.

Thank you Diane.

The Netroots Hit Their Limits

Liberal online activists are finding you can't move elections with just modems and IM

BY PERRY BACON JR.

Sep. 24, 2006

You've heard the story: the Netroots, the Democratic Party's equivalent of a punk garage band--edgy, loud and antiauthoritarian--are suddenly on the verge of the big time. The gang of liberal bloggers and online activists who helped raise millions of dollars for Howard Dean's presidential campaign two years ago are now said to be Democratic kingmakers. Last month in Connecticut, they fanned anti-incumbent and antiwar flames and were widely credited with the primary defeat of Senator Joe Lieberman, leading him to run as an independent. After they relentlessly derided Senator Hillary Clinton as calculating, overly cautious and lacking true liberal bona fides, she hired an adviser just to deal with them and even demanded that Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld resign. Coincidence? Moderate Democrats say it with remorse, conservatives with glee, but the conventional wisdom is bipartisan: progressive bloggers are pushing the Democratic Party so far to the left that it will have no chance of capturing the presidency in 2008.

Or maybe the Netroots aren't all that. Make no mistake, these online activists are having a profound impact on the Democrats and on politics in general. But the phenomenon is in its infancy. Compared with established interest groups like organized labor and conservative Christians, the Netroots play a small role in national politics. Even their most ardent players now recognize that you can't create a true movement using nothing but modems and instant messaging. "The Netroots cannot elect someone alone," says Matt Stoller, a blogger at the popular group site MyDD.

So they're branching out. Beyond posting exhaustive pieces about bias in Fox News coverage and uploading videos of presidential wannabe George Allen making a fool of himself, they're adopting the old-school tools of electoral politics, like canvassing their neighborhoods and calling their member of Congress. They're getting nitty-gritty in their focus too. The liberal online fund-raising group ActBlue, for instance, is trying to get activists to donate serious money to state-legislature campaigns that bloggers once considered too unsexy to care about. The goal is to put Democrats in control of state governments, where many key decisions are made.

The Netroots phenomenon began in 1998 when two Silicon Valley entrepreneurs circulated an online petition demanding that Congress, in their phrase, "move on"--that is, stop trying to impeach President Clinton. Thus was born MoveOn.org which now has 3.2 million members. Most of the bloggers who have become Netroots leaders can trace their influence back only a couple of years, to 2003 and '04, when the growth of partisan liberal online activism was spurred by a strain of antiwar, anti-Bush fervor and frustration with congressional Democrats for not standing up to the President. Blogs like Daily Kos and MyDD grew rapidly. Today their combined readership (more than a million people weekly) dwarfs that of the dead-tree versions of established purveyors of liberal thought like the New Republic, which has a print circulation of about 62,000. The conservative Rightroots movement is only just getting started.

Because the Netroots are bound by a medium and not by geography, they have been able to nationalize fund raising for congressional and Senate races more effectively than other groups of their size and relative inexperience. They are also the liberal rival to conservative "noise machines" like the online Drudge Report and talk-radio hosts like Rush Limbaugh. When Allen called an opponent's political operative by the racial slur macaca at a recent rally, the blogs touted the video, and the incident became a national story, contributing to a troubled campaign that has shrunk Allen's lead in his Senate race from double digits to 3 points.

Yet a coarse estimate of the Netroots' numbers shows them to be something less than a groundswell. The readership of the largest liberal blogs and the membership of MoveOn suggest that the Netroots could total 6 million people, and that assumes blog audiences don't overlap, which they do. That's only a small fraction of even the Democrats in the U.S., who number more than 70 million. While 5 million people can elect the Governor of California, the Netroots are dispersed all over the country. Even in Connecticut, one of the most liberal states, Ned Lamont, Lieberman's primary nemesis, couldn't rely on just the Netroots to get him elected. MoveOn has 50,000 members in the state; Lamont got 146,000 votes to win the Democratic nomination. Netroot strength is even less potent in a general election, as Lamont is discovering; he trails an independent Lieberman in the polls.

When it comes to money, the bloggers are still playing with Monopoly dollars compared with groups like Emily's List and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The top several liberal blogs together have raised about $1.2 million over the past year, which isn't enough in most districts to run a successful congressional campaign. To be sure, MoveOn has more money; it plans to spend $25 million this election cycle, targeting 40 key congressional races with television ads and a get-out-the-vote operation.

No one recognizes the Netroots' limits more than the activists themselves, which is why they are changing their tactics. First of all, they're becoming pragmatic about policy goals. There's little demand from the Netroots for Democrats to support gay marriage, for example, even though 91% of the people who gave money to or worked on Dean's campaign back it, according to a 2005 Pew poll. "We're not asking anyone to commit political suicide," says Eli Pariser, executive director of MoveOn. If the Democrats win the House, it will be on the strength of moderate candidates in places like Indiana, many of whom don't support one of MoveOn's top priorities, a timetable for withdrawal of troops from Iraq. And the bloggers are actively supporting and giving money to many of these more centrist candidates. Virginia Senate candidate Jim Webb was encouraged to run and has received more than $280,000 from the Netroots, even though he served in the Reagan Administration as Navy Secretary and was a Republican until recently.

What's more, the Netroots are, paradoxically, attempting to maximize their effectiveness by going off-line. MoveOn is organizing its members to make a combined 5 million phone calls before Election Day, asking people to vote for Democrats. Markos Moulitsas, who runs Daily Kos, is talking about building real, bricks-and-mortar gathering halls where progressives can meet and organize political activities in person. Jane Hamsher, who runs the piquant online hangout Firedoglake, and other bloggers have started the "roots project," in which they employ nonweb political tactics like writing letters to the editors of their local newspapers. "We can hammer the New York Times and the Washington Post forever," Hamsher said, but "candidates are more influenced by what we're doing in their own backyards."

Even with these changes, the Netroots won't be kingmakers. The fact is, day-to-day campaigning in 2006 is not very different from how it was in 1996: candidates call a few very rich people to ask them to give money so the campaign can run ads on television and hope soccer moms catch them between cooking dinner and driving to practice. If the Democrats win in the fall elections, the roots of that victory will not be on the Net.

THEN I RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING VERY LUCID AND ELOQUENT COMMENT FROM MY GOOD FRIEND ALEXANDER KOCHKIN... (who is also a long-time ERN subscriber)

Subject: A quiet revolution - Control and influence

Dear Jean and all concerned,

Articles such as the one you have included reflect the power of the “control matrix” to continue to herd the populace into structures and processes under their control. Most of these so-called “Net-roots” are dominated by coordinated forces who serve the status quo under the guise of superficial “liberal” Democratic Party “alternatives”. Those not organizationally controlled are easily manipulated through the control over language and control over what gets discussed and terms of discussion. In turn, those who are more naïve are easily carried along by the process and their potential energy for genuine change effectively siphoned off or mis-directed. This is partly done with the active complicity of many seemingly “well-intentioned” individuals – some who ought to know better and others who are simply too naïve.

Their immediate goal is to maintain social control and order within one of the preferred headquarter countries for the NWO elite. After all they do want too much open unrest in their temporary backyard, it would force them to implement more draconian measures against the US populace.

In the case of the U.S it is the Janus-faced two-party “pinball machine” and sophisticated manipulation of the voting process and the mind-dulling mantra of “terrorism”.  Millions of dollars have gone to fund consultants, progressive-left gatekeepers”, so-called “independent” Internet “alternatives”, “alternative” media mouthpieces, various political operatives, pop-culture groups, ad nauseum, all for the singular purpose of maintaining the grip of the power elites over the traditional  mechanisms of social control in the US. Their knowledge and reach is vast and well-organized. They think trans-generationally, not just short term.  In contrast, those who are honestly spiritually-progressive in their outlook lack the resources, lack the capacity for cooperation, lack the big-picture strategic perspective of those they so righteously decry. I say this not out of negativity, but out of the need to speak honestly and plainly of what I see. A Mayan prophet, Carlos Barrios, has said as much over recent years.

Those rare individuals on the Internet who are speaking the truth are primarily focused in exposure and opposition, even rarer are those putting forth strategies for something entirely new.  Some who are speaking the truth about the NWO do so with too much hatred to have room for creating something new and beautiful in the world.

So this is not about the Internet or not. This is not about the Democratic Party or not. This is not about liberal or not. These are all simplistic formulations that in their infinite variations serve to control thoughts and actions.

There is little point in “pressuring” the Democratic Party or certain elected individuals – at the most the result will be twisted lip-service made to look like there was an effective response. Also, it is simply not a good use of energy. So the D Party might adopt a few loosely worded statements. Nothing would change, however.

Our energies must be focused on creating something new that will serve as a transition -- from the corruption and decrepitude of the old paradigm and social order – with new parallel structures and processes that can at times challenge the powers that be, but most importantly, that will quietly work and grow and nourish all those people who have a thirst for living a new life. As the old order structures increasingly breakdown on many fronts, it will be these pockets and zones of community and light that will help magnetize more people. This is a quiet “revolution”. To focus what meager energies there are in opposing the powers-that-be would generally dissipate in a wasteful and discouraging manner. One must carefully pick the terms of engagement and then only when necessary.

Until there are new virtual (and actual) centers of new leadership in the world, those humans who work in league with the greater dark forces will continue to run their wars, exploit and oppress countless millions, etc. Civil strife will be the natural mass response and that is likely to lead to harsh repressive measures. As you know I continue to maintain that the USA still has and can play an extraordinary role in helping to transform the world. This is predicated on a new leadership and social movement – this “window” of opportunity is closing fast.  However, such a positive change cannot happen without new leaders – both mass movement leaders as well as elected ones. Where are the new leaders? How are they being developed and assisted? In the US there are way too few individuals who could run for elected office and who are capable of envisioning anything beyond the current paradigm. This is true at all levels from local to national. The higher the office, the more it is controlled by the dark of course. I am sorry to say, that without an agency such as the GIC to help develop and sustain new leaders, it is highly unlikely that a new leadership will emerge in any time soon. I would say it would take a few years at least.

Clearly there needs to be new leaders prepared simultaneous with a new social movement -- new structures and processes must be created. At first the strength will be at more localized levels reaching to state-office. For those rare few individuals who hold elected national and state office, they will need to periodically pass some sort of basic “litmus test” in terms of their positions on key points of global concern (see forthcoming article on “litmus test”).  It is clear today that the vast majority of the Senate and House are either bought off financially, bought off politically, blackmailed into submission somehow, or are morally or ethically corrupt people who are rabidly enthusiastic about the NWO worldview.  So a combination of sub-regionalism and networking with others around the world will be of great importance while global communication capabilities still exist.

We (those genuinely focused on ushering in an awakened humanity) need to look ahead (think future-present) and apply certain new-paradigm principles and energy to the present situation and create new transitional structures and process that will help facilitate more enlightened society. This has been the focus of our work for several years. We offer serious strategic approaches to those who are ready to engage relative to social, political, and economic fronts.

I am not “pushing” GIC as something of “ours” -- it is a planned model ready to be implemented. However it is based on the fortuitous use of some very serious human and financial resources, decades of experience in many facets of society, some heavy-duty research and planning, and much more. This project is something much bigger than just another good idea floating out there, or someone’s proprietary “product”.  As a coordinated entity, GIC would far exceed the reach and influence of the various entities in consulting, Internet, and political operations that, over in recent years, received many millions of dollars from a few well-coordinated sources for the sole purpose of steering a significant portion of the US public back to the dark control matrix represented by the Dem-Rep “pinball machine”.

It is our gift for those who are ready to make this happen. We have expended substantial financial and human resources over several years listening very deeply to many leaders and organizations to understand why there is such a lack of synergy and cooperation and to address what processes and material structures would help bring to fore of humanity a new leadership that is aligned with enlightened and more evolved society. We had years of meetings with many leaders and would-be leaders, and applied all our experience in info tech, politics, business, spirituality, organizational models, etc . The result was the GIC -- our answer in the 3-D world to the urgently painful need for a genuine alternative that is 110% dedicated to facilitating (I use facilitate in its most thorough and profound manner) a more enlightened and compassionate society. This concept and its implementation is the most sophisticated and comprehensive proposition – and remains so to this day, to the best of our knowledge.

My support and advice is available to leaders who are stepping forward. I am sure we will have much to learn from one another.

Best to all !

-Alex

Subject: Silence+Torture=Complicity in NY Times today

Yes! In the nation’s “paper of record” a FULL page (see ad below) exposing the torture bill, and telling people what to do about it. It’s p. 21 in the National Section today.

From: http://www.worldcantwait.net/ads/torturead.pdf

SILENCE + TORTURE = COMPLICITY

“Can’t the United States see that when we allow someone to be tortured by our agents, it is not only the victim and the perpetrator who are corrupted, not only the ‘intelligence’ that is contaminated, but also everyone who looked away and said they did not know, everyone who consented tacitly to that outrage so they could sleep a little safer at night, all the citizens who did not march in the streets by the millions to demand the resignation of whoever suggested, even whispered, that torture is inevitable in our day and age, that we must embrace its darkness?”
Ariel Dorfman, “Are We Really So Fearful?”

Your government HAS NOW CODIFIED torture. The new law does not prohibit the government from using “alternative interrogation techniques” that include sleep deprivation, extreme cold, personal degradation, waterboarding (simulated drowning), “temporary” disablement, and psychological disorientation. The new law grants George Bush the sole authority to decide what torture is. Abu Ghraib and the secret renditions were horrible. But to take the next step and write such practices into law is even worse — qualitatively worse.

Your government has officially shredded constitutional promises of basic and fundamental rights to due process — taking a huge step towards replacing the rule of law with the arbitrary rule of men. The new law will give the president the right to hold people indefinitely without charging them, and without review from the courts, nullifying habeas corpus rights. Congress has now passed legislation that denies defendants the right to see evidence used against them, and allows the use of “evidence” gained through torture. It forbids anyone to invoke the Geneva Conventions in any civil case or habeas corpus proceedings undertaken against the U.S. government, and, according to some experts, it may also forbid this in criminal cases.

Your government – which already holds over 14,000 people overseas without charges — has dramatically expanded the scope of who it can detain to include people anywhere in the world, including within the U.S. People can now be declared an “unlawful enemy combatant” simply for providing what the president decides is “material,” including financial or indirect support for hostilities against the U.S.

Your government is rewriting the law on crimes against humanity to exclude itself , incurring the contempt and hatred of people all over the planet.

Few in Congress made anything but the most token show of opposition , as leading Democrats let Bush set the agenda, staying silent when it mattered, refusing to filibuster, then voting no only when the die was cast.

This unprecedented legalization of torture is part of a package coming from the Bush regime . That package includes an atrocious, nightmarish occupation of Iraq and now the ominous threat of war against Iran. It includes an assault on critical thinking and serious motion toward a theocracy. It includes the criminal response to Hurricane Katrina. It includes a systematic attack on women’s reproductive rights, and the demonization of gay people and denial of their basic human rights. It includes the scapegoating of immigrants and severely repressive new legislation aimed at them.

And it gets worse with every passing week. As the call for The World Can’t Wait–Drive Out the Bush Regime states: “The Bush regime is setting out to radically remake society very quickly, in a fascist way, and for generations to come.” With this legalization of torture, who will now deny that? The stakes are clearly enormous.

If Not Now, When? If Not Us, Who?

THIS MUST HALT! This entire package must be repudiated, and the whole direction of this country must be reversed.

Initial Report on October 5 Protests

The following is an initial report from leaders of World Can't Wait on the October 5 protests:

Something new is rising – a movement of thousands of very diverse kinds of people from hundreds of cities and towns across the country who see the need to drive the Bush regime from power and are taking the responsibility to do it. These thousands are consciously breaking with the dominant pattern of day by day accommodating to new outrages. Many of them feel very acutely that the fate of humanity is hinging on what people living in this country do now, but this is not weighing them down. Instead, they are shaking off denial and despair and stepping into unfamiliar territory of taking history into their own hands – and they are expressing a lot of joy and determination at having connected with a nation-wide movement to drive the Bush regime from power.

On October 5 protests were held from coast to coast and beyond U.S. borders, in over 230 locations. Several thousand took to the streets in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, hundreds acted in cities such as Tucson, Portland, Atlanta, and Austin, and in many small towns and cities scores of people went to intersections, town centers, local beaches, and wherever they thought they would reach the most people with the message that: This Regime Does Not Represent Us and We Will Drive it Out.

At the same time, it is simply a fact that size of these outpourings fell far short of the numbers organizers had correctly aimed for (tens of thousands in the major cities and at least 100,000 nationwide). Reversing the momentum and direction that society is being dragged in, changing the political discourse so that driving out the regime is being debated, and creating a political situation where the Bush regime is driven from office required – and now all the more urgently requires – the political mobilization of hundreds of thousands.

There is time to do this, but not much time. The Bush regime has not slowed, but quickened its pace towards remaking the world in a fascist way that will have implications for generations and, despite the huge numbers of people who are horrified and disgusted by this direction, the vast majority of them are not yet acting on the necessity of coming out into the streets in massive numbers to reverse this. Meanwhile, the Bush regime is moving each day to close down the space in society from which an opposition to its program can be mobilized. This huge problem must be confronted, understood, and overcome very quickly through the collective struggle of the thousands who have courageously become the nucleus of this movement.

This will require deeply appreciating and building upon the very important advances that have been made in this last round as well as by understanding and overcoming the significant challenges still confronting humanity. The following observations are a contribution towards this process.

Attack On Iran Inevitable - Nuke Use In White House Plan

Air Force Colonel Sam Gardiner (ret.) says U.S. forces will assassinate Iran's leadership

Retired Air Force Colonel Sam Gardiner on the probability of air strikes on Iran and the likely consequences

09/30/06 INN World Report - Runtime of this video: 17 Minutes - a MUST WATCH!

The End of the “Summer of Diplomacy”

Sam Gardiner, Colonel, USAF (Ret.) The Century Foundation,

Targeting the Nuclear Program? Or the Regime?

Air-target planners orchestrate strikes on the basis of desired target destruction criteria. In the case of an attack on Iran, after five nights of bombing, we can be relatively certain of target destruction. It is even possible to project the degree to which parts of the Iranian nuclear program would be set back. For example, using Web pictures of the Natanz enrichment facility, it is possible to see three years worth of construction. An attack on that construction might appear to set the program back three years. But it is hard to judge. David Kay, the former top U.S. weapons inspector, observed during our discussions that there is the program we see, but there is also the program we do not see. Because of the gaps in U.S. intelligence on Iran, and specifically on Iran’s nuclear program, American military leaders are growing increasingly uneasy about the reliability and comprehensiveness of target selection.12 In other words, after the five-night military attack we would not be able with any degree of certainty to say how we had impacted the Iranian nuclear program.

If this uncertainty does not appear to worry the proponents of air strikes in Iran it is in no small part because the real U.S. policy objective is not merely to eliminate the nuclear program, but to overthrow the regime. It is hard to believe, after the misguided talk prior to Iraq of how American troops would be greeted with flowers and welcomed as liberators, but those inside and close to the administration who are arguing for an air strike against Iran actually sound as if they believe the regime in Tehran can be eliminated by air attacks.

In this case, the concept is not a ground force Thunder Run into Tehran of the sort used in Baghdad. It is a decapitation-based concept. Kill the leadership and enable the people of Iran to take over their government. More reasonable leadership will emerge.

Under this concept, the air operation would take longer than the five nights. The targets would be expanded. The Revolutionary Guard units would be attacked since according to the argument they are the primary force that keeps the current regime in power. There are other regime protection units in Tehran. Most important, the U.S. operation would move into targeted killing, seeking to eliminate the leadership of Iran.

It sounds simple. Air planners always tell a good story. By the same token, they almost always fall short of their promises, even in strictly military terms. That was true in World War II. It was true in Korea. It was true in Vietnam. It has just proved true with the Israeli attacks on Hezbollah. No serious expert on Iran believes the argument about enabling a regime change. On the contrary, whereas the presumed goal is to weaken or disable the leadership and then replace it with others who would improve relations between Iran and the United States, it is far more likely that such strikes would strengthen the clerical leadership and turn the United States into Iran’s permanent enemy.

Iran’s Response

Having demonstrated that air strikes are unlikely either to eliminate the nuclear program or to bring about the overthrow of the Islamic regime in Iran, we must now turn to what, precisely, they would achieve. It is important to remember that some of Iran’s threats, demonstrations of new weapons, and military exercises are designed to have a deterrent effect. As such we should not deduce too much about what Iran would do in the event of an attack on the basis of what it might say and do in advance of an attack. A former CIA Middle East Station Chief told me once that predicting the consequences of a strategic event in the Middle East was as difficult as predicting how an Alexander Calder mobile would come to rest after you flicked one of its hanging pieces.

It is possible, however, to identify some high probability immediate consequences.

The Iranians would likely look to target Israel as a response to a U.S. strike, using Hezbollah as the primary vehicle for retaliation. For Tehran, there is the added benefit that blaming Israel (even for a U.S. strike) would play well at home, and probably throughout the region.

Moqtada al-Sadr has said publicly that if the United States were to attack Iran, he would target U.S. forces in Iraq.

Iran could channel more individuals and weapons into Iraq. Specifically, Iran could upgrade technology among Shiite militias, with weapons like the laser-guided anti-tank missiles Hezbollah had in Lebanon. We might even see more direct operations like missile attacks against U.S. forces.

Moqtada al-Sadr controls the large Facilities Protection Service forces in Iraq. Some estimates put this force as large as 140,000. Among other missions, they guard the oil pipelines. If Iran wants to cut the flow of oil, Iraq is the best place to begin, and the means are in place to take on the mission. The impact of severing Iraq’s oil supplies would be an immediate increase in its own oil revenue.

Iran is not going to wipe Israel from the map or force the United States to leave Iraq with these operations. But in causing these various complications, Iran can still achieve a degree of success. As we recently witnessed in the clash between Hezbollah and Israel, Iran can seem stronger just by virtue of making the United States and Israel seem weaker.

Round Two

Once the nature of the Iranian retaliation becomes apparent, the United States will not likely declare success and walk away from the problem. Clearly, the pressure will be to expand the targets and punish Iran even more. The government of Iran is fragile, the thinking goes; it could even be on the verge of falling; it is time to “enable” the Iranian people. The Iranians will react with their own horizontal escalation. (See Table 2.)

Iran has been sending mixed signals about whether or not it would cut its own oil production or attempt to restrict the flow of oil from the Gulf. A strike of five nights might not push them to cut the flow of oil. But continued operations probably would. Iran does have some flexibility to do without oil revenues for a period because of surpluses from currently high oil prices. In addition, it has plans for rationing refined petroleum products that it must import.

Executing the oil option might not be limited to operations against tankers moving in and out of the Gulf. Iran has the capability, and we have seen some indications of the intent, to attack facilities of other oil providers in the region.

It would be tougher for Iran and Hezbollah to attack UN forces in Lebanon. If the UN forces were to become too aggressive in response to Hezbollah attacks against Israel, they would most likely become targets. In addition, at some point in the expanding conflict, Iran might see a value to making the war about attempts at Western domination of the region and not just about the United States and Israel. In that case, a focused attack on something like the Italian headquarters would resonate in the region.

It took a while for the nations of the region to react to the Israeli attack into Lebanon. That most likely would be the case in the event of a U.S. strike against Iran. As attacks continued and as the television coverage intensified, however, we could see something similar to the reactions to the Danish cartoons. We could see the “Arab Street” asserting itself.
Syria and Iran signed a defense agreement on June 15. Under this agreement Syrian forces would be brought into a fight if Iran were attacked. Syrian President Bashar Assad might be a reluctant participant, but as the conflict expands, he might not have a choice.

The Iranians could conduct targeted killing outside the region. They have used this tactic in the past: in 1991, Shapour Bakhtiar, the Shah’s last prime minister, was decapitated in his apartment in Paris.

Continued air strikes and demonstrations could have a compounding effect. Weak governments in the Muslim world could be threatened. The governments of Pakistan, Jordan, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia are vulnerable.

CLIP

As an obvious consequence of the instability resulting from a U.S. strike, the price of oil almost certainly will spike. The impact will depend on how high and how long. The longer the conflict goes, the higher the price. A former Kuwaiti oil minister privately suggested a plateau of $125 per barrel. Confidential analysis by a major European bank suggests it would level off at $130, and a very conservative estimate would be over $200.

With prices surging to this level, third order consequences become apparent. The most obvious would be a global, synchronized recession, intensified by the existing U.S. trade and fiscal imbalances. Another political consequence would be that oil exporting countries outside the region would enjoy significant surges in revenue from higher prices. As a result, countries such as Venezuela and Russia would enjoy expanded influence while the West would be reeling from recession.

I should note that in the preceding discussion of the cycle of action and reaction, I have not mentioned large U.S. ground unit formations. That is because I do not believe we will come to a point where that option will make sense to policymakers. This is the one lesson the administration seems to have learned from Iraq—occupation does not work. And that realization brings us back to why the air strike option has been so attractive to the administration from the beginning.

Fear the Penis

Thank God for Mark Foley.

It proves that the American people still care about something.

It happens to be penises. But still.

They care about who talks about them, who plays with them, who covers them up, who uncovers them, who covers up the uncovering of them.

Even Jon Stewart put the big penis cover-up ahead of the fact that this government just passed a law that says that George Bush can say, "Hey you, you're an enemy combatant, "and once he says that they can whisk you away.

This is literally true. It's like that joke in the first grade.

Make me a milkshake

Poof: You're a milkshake

If George Bush says: you're an enemy combatant. Poof! You are one. And then they can take you to Guantanamo, do not pass go, do not call your attorney, do not see a judge, do not hear the charges against you, go straight to the cage they want to put you in. The cage comes with lights that stay on 24 hours a day and wake-up calls every fifteen minutes so you never get to sleep and special exercise programs where you stand for hours in 'stress' positions, upward screaming cat, squatting tortured turtle, and other light abuses that used to be quaintly prohibited by the Geneva Conventions.

Today's joke:

Q: What do Americans do after they commit war crimes?

A: They pass a law that says they can't be prosecuted for committing war crimes.

If you don't find that funny, if you actually think that's serious, then ask you come nobody else does. How come CNN doesn't care, NBC, the NY Times? How come the Democratic leadership doesn't care?

How did that that bill - that contains all those provisions and more - get passed without a filibuster? Without a fuss?

Thank God for Mark Foley. An old congressman hitting on teenage boys, that's real news.

I was watching CNN yesterday afternoon. It was All Penis, All the Time.

Here's a quote, from one of their reporters, "One question always rises to the top: 'who knew what, and when did they know it?'"

That's true, but only when it has to do with a penis.

Last week Bob Woodward's new book came out. One of the things he revealed was an additional meeting between the head of the CIA and Condoleeza Rice, back in July 2001, in which they tried to shock her, shake her up in doing something about terrorism.

That meeting is important for several reasons.

The fact that she didn't do anything about it led to the deaths of at least 3,000 people. Call me me crazy, call me irresponsible, but that seems more important than an old queen hitting on young teens.

That meeting was kept secret from the 9/11 Commission, congress and the American people. There's no security reason for it to be secret. Only a political one. Proof, once again, that 9/11 happened because the Bush Administration was asleep at the wheel.

When the book came out, Rice denied the meeting had happened. She flat out lied about it.

Documents proved it took place.

I don't see CNN, or anybody else, hounding the White House about Condoleeza Rice's cover up and her lies.

"One question always rises to the top: who knew what and when did they know it?"

Yeah, when the warnings are about the use of a penis. But not when the warnings are about a terrorist attack on New York.

The Rice lie and cover-up is not insignificant. It's not ancient history. Because the whole point of Woodward's book is that it's still going on. The real experts are still warning the Bush administration that their policies - and lack of policies - are deadly disasters. Costing lives, costing money, creating enemies, with no chance of success. The president is still putting his fingers in his ears and not hearing them. His spokespeople are continuing to pretend the information doesn't exist and lying, by omission and commission, to congress and the American people.

Even if we concede that obscene instant messages are a greater danger to the Republic than a military quagmire that we entered into based on deliberate lies, the danger from Mark Foley is done. The danger from additional congressman trolling for young stuff, if there are any, is easily met (A War on Congress, does have a certain appeal and would be vastly cheaper than the War on Terror). But the war in Iraq, and the war in Afghanistan, go on and on and on, like toxic Energizer Bunnies killing and maiming, laying waste to the landscape and breeding virulent new strains of violent jihadists.

A few years ago, there was a play- still around - called the Vagina Monologues.

American politics, at the same time, turned into the Penis Monologues.

Anything else, in between penises, is just marking time. Fail to get bin Laden, who cares? Discover proof that the administration made up stories so they could have their war in Iraq, no big deal, not even news, according to the NY Times. Best estimate is that US bombs and artillery killed 100,000 Iraqi civilians, it would be rude to mention it. Then there's all that money that disappeared. Paul Bremer blew through twenty billion (yes, Billion) dollars that was supposed to be held in trust for the Iraqi people and there's no records and nothing to show for it. After that was gone, the occupation authorities blew through another twenty billion that was supposed to go for the reconstruction of Iraq. Let's not ask where the money went - no major media outlet has.

If you're in the cable news business, you're happy. This is the first really good penis since Bill's.

If you're anti-Republican, there's another bit of good news. The Republican's are slipping. It took Dennis Hastert a full week before he remembered to blame Bill Clinton.

Let me close with this. Advice to the youth of our country.

Dear youth; if you have dreams of going into politics, you should be fearless. Do not fear committing war crimes. Do not fear lying about terrorist warnings. Do not fear losing billions of dollars or reconstructions that never happen. But if you have a penis - whether you're a man or a woman - leave your penis at home, before you venture forth to do battle in the field of America's political wars.

The Real Foley Scandal is Much Bigger than Foley

By Dave Lindorff

01/04/06 --Information Clearing House -- It's a sad commentary on the state of American democracy, on the instincts of the American citizenry, and on the standards and judgement of the American newsmedia that the unsavory advances of a pathetic Florida congressman can have the nation in high dudgeon, while the ramming through of a patently illegal piece of legislation undermining a crucial 13th century civil liberty (habeas corpus), and the Fourth and Eithth Amendments of the constitution, and the secret planning for an illegal and catastrophic attack on Iran, both merit almost no complaint or mention.

Far be it from me to complain if Rep. Mark Foley's sexual obsession with teenage boys ends up sinking Republican hopes for hanging onto the House and Senate. But how sad that it would be if it is this, and the coverup of his crimes by the Republican leadership, that undoes the Bush administration, when its real crimes are of such grandeur and seriousness?

How are we to compare seeking to screw an underage youth with totally screwing the Constitution? How are we to compare secret email solicitations with a secret plot to attack a nation of 62 million that poses no immediate threat to the U.S.?

How are we to compare the Republican Party's cover-up of a member's efforts to corrupt young pages with the same party's conspiracy to cover up the Bush administration's ineptness and possible foreknowledge of the 9-11 attacks, and of the campaign of lies and misinformation it used to drum up hysteria for an illegal and totally unwarranted invasion of Iraq?

How are we to compare the media feeding frenzy over the Foley scandal with the profound silence about Bush's Iran invasion planning, and with the deliberate brownout about information regarding a growing popular movement to impeach the president for his crimes?

And finally, how to we to compare the public revulsion over Foley's indiscretions with the widespread acceptance or, or even support for abuse of American captives in the War in Afghanistan, the Iraq War, and the so-called "War" on Terror, which has included rape, sodomy, sexual humiliation and torture of all kinds, and murder--especially when it is known that the vast majority of those captives were either guilty of nothing but being in the wrong place at the
