For over 20 years the Star Elders (a.k.a. my buddies) have shared various visions. These visions were based in the past, present day, and our future. Over the last few weeks another vision came and though it didn’t seem to have any relation to the others, a series of visions lit up like a string of lights. I haven’t been excited like this since the summer of 1987! Now I feel it is time to share a few of these visions, how they add up to what looks like an amazing future. CLIP

Dear Jean

I read with interest Kiara Windrider's post, "Journey of Enlightenment". I personally can concur with much he says. What is even more interesting is that Kalki's "diksha" is not necessary. There is a spontaneous combustive awakening happening now in human consciousness as a whole, and it is sparking all over the world. Perhaps the "morphogenetic field" is strong enough, perhaps the critical mass of enlightenment is approaching. As Kalki says, enlightenment is a neurobiological process, and this describes it well. Enlightenment may be a function of our evolving DNA. It is hard to say whether our DNA is programmed to kick-in now, or whether the evolving consciousness is causing the DNA to morph and modify. It is a quantum kind of happening. Futurist Barbara Marx Hubbard believes that our nervous system is still evolving, promising a natural capacity for enlightenment.

My own spontaneous enlightenment is not a result of spiritual practice or meditation. I have watched this "happen" to me, with much surprise, delight, and amusement. If this can happen to me, it can happen to anyone. Surely such a wondrous thing points to a spontaneous enlightenment coursing as an unstoppable tide through our collective consciousness. Spiritual seeking and striving may be unnecessary and ultimately misleading. A gentle allowing and relaxing may be more appropriate. Having trust in a deeper wisdom inside is highly recommended. What is coming is truly unimaginable and will not fit neatly into the spiritual and intellectual boxes many have defined for themselves. The beloved traditions, practices, and teachers are becoming transparent and irrelevant before this new cosmic creation. We are, in our collective enlightenment, that new creation. This is not a passive event, but a self-conscious creative act. We are doing this! We are becoming something that the world has never seen before! The future is rushing to meet us. The sun pours out its en-light-enment. Every day is a day of miracles.

Some of my 20-something friends are experiencing this awakening and having no interest or background in the traditions of spiritual seeking so endemic in my older generation, are defining for themselves this enlightenment in terms pretty foreign to me, yet meaningful to them--terms defined more from the immersion in their own culture of hyper-cyber-space, virtual reality gaming, rap music, science-fiction, and movies. This is their particular enlightenment, with no attachment to the defined forms of Eastern and Indian spirituality, or Western either, and with no defined pattern of behavior or practice. They don't care a bit for the old forms so familiar and revered by my generation. They fly out of the Matrix! They spin out of Control! They are wonderful! They are very hip to the significance of 2012. They raise their fists in the air and yell, "Yo! Twenty twelve rocks! Yeah!" Kalki says we can have mass enlightenment by 2012 and I believe it!

The human family is beginning to know itself as one. A coat of many colors, a self with many pairs of eyes, a unified field, not of theory, but of experienced reality. A humanity awakening as a single planetary being! An evolving hologram! We are "sleeper agents" coming into awareness, triggering each other into wakefulness. Ken Carey in his prophetic book, The Third Millennium, states it simply: "You cannot know yourself in reality without knowing God." The bridge between Creator and Creation has appeared, and it is us. It is truly a wonderful time to be alive!

Dear Margaret and Jean

I definitely concur with your statement about the spontaneous combustive awakening happening all over the world. That's what makes this journey so exciting for me. If each person had to be re-wired separately, it seems it would be a huge task, but I feel like you do, that our collective DNA is 'morphing' to create a new species, which will be genetically wired for oneness. Sri Aurobindo and the Mother refer to this as the 'supramental species', Barbara Marx Hubbard calls it 'homo universalis'!

I just happened to be reading Barbara Marx Hubbard's book yesterday, 'Emergence: the Shift from Ego to Essence', and was struck by the following quote. She talks about the shift in identity from the creature human to the co-creative human, or from Ego to Essence. When it has occurred, she says, each person will be able to say without embarrassment, inflation, or egotism:

I am no longer separated from the source of creation.
I am one with the essence that pervades the whole universe.
I am an expression of the process of creation of God.
I am the Beloved I have sought since time immemorial.
I am the presence and process of the divine within me.
I am the voice I hear. I am the guide I follow. I am a co-creator of new worlds.
I think, write, and act as that presence in the world.
I am a young Universal Human. I may forget momentarily who I really am, but I will never go back the whole way. As a baby can never return to the womb, I can never go back to my separated state. I am humble. I have universes to understand, infinite things to learn, but I am born.

What an awesome prospect! And it is happening NOW! And ditto on your book, Margaret, please let me know when it's out!

Thanks a lot brother for this excellent comment which I've just included after Margaret's email in the coming Light series compilation.

Barbara's quote is awesome! And I deeply resonate with it. During this Sunday's global meditation focus, I deeply shifted - more than ever before! - into the universal Godmind consciousness, totally identifying with God -- and there are no words to properly describe what happened. What came to mind at the end is that One-ification is underway - not merely conscious unification with all other souls in incarnation but also with all sentient living beings, all the trees, plants, insects, animals, and ALSO with every single molecule and atom in existence, all the minerals and physical elements - yet not JUST here on Earth but reaching out to the entire universe in all dimensional frequencies - and YET even more than that, One-ification means also becoming One with every single vibration that ever was, is and will ever be, ALL AT ONCE and then seeing all of this dissolving as just a huge, REALLY HUGE, infinitely complex thought in the mind of Creator, and BEING this infinity/eternity. Can you imagine really encompassing all this enlightening realization in one's sentient sense of Being such a Presence? Can you fathom this overpowering experience as something we are all about to experience - are in the process of experiencing, even if we do not yet fully realize this - thus becoming what we have never ceased to be all along, because only our delusionary sense of separation is what has prevented us from feeling this unfathomable Reality.

And then I went joyfully about spreading looots of compost on my garden and having a really good time all day long ;-)

Love and LIGHT is!

Foundation for the Law of Time 2004 - Day Out of Time Mission Statement and Program

The Foundation for the Law of Time wholeheartedly promotes and supports the Day Out of time Planetary Peace through Culture Festival (Gregorian: July 25). The Day Out of Time is the 365th day of the Thirteen Moon calendar year. As the extra day outside of the 52 weeks of the thirteen moons, the Day Out of Time is no day of the week or month at all. It is, therefore, the day to experience true freedom in fourth dimensional time. For over ten years the Day Out of Time has been celebrated as a planetary peace through culture festival, a day of forgiveness and artistic celebration. This year’s event is of unprecedented importance for it initiates the Great Calendar Change which opens the Door to the Road to 2012.

The program of events for the Day Out of Time should begin with the Rainbow Bridge Meditation (visualizing a circumpolar rainbow around the Earth) and include a ceremony of universal forgiveness of all beings and a prayer for the cancellation of all debts so that all beings can have the opportunity of beginning the new time unburdened. In addition to the promotion of all forms of artistic activity, celebration and performance, the Foundation for the Law of Time is also promoting this year’s event as a Festival of the Future, encouraging all major three-day Day Out of Time events (July 23-25) to include displays and forums of alternative energy and lifestyles to create a Festival of the Future global village effect. The Earth Flag, the Banner of Peace, Rainbow Nation flags and the Banner of the Galactic Shield should be prominent at the Festival of the Future component of your Day Out of Time event. Finally, declarations and manifestos of the Great Calendar Change should be prepared and made public. It should be made very clear that the people of the Earth are already changing the calendar and that the day following, Blue Crystal Storm, July 26, 2004, is the official beginning of the great time shift known as the Road to 2012.

There will be a world wide webcast of this glorious planetary festival. If you would like to participate, contact: Red Electric Serpent at

Dear Moriah-Melin

Thank you for your continued interest - and for you love-filled appreciation ;-)

Is Dennis closing down his national office? Some people who wrote to me are still hoping that somehow, through some unexpected miracle, he will clinch the Democratic nomination and get elected president. I certainly do share this hope, and with the growing debacle in Iraq and Kerry sounding just the same hawkish war psychopath as Bush, perhaps the American citizens will finally wake up en masse and a true alternative, an actual savior of the nation like Dennis would be the obvious choice...

How about a Peace President for a change?...

If you get to read this Dennis - and I see your email address is still on the ERN e-list - let me congratulate you for your amazing service and vision and for your courageous persistence despite the seemingly unsurmountable odds. You've provided us all with a true, bright example of the kind of determination and fortitude all Light servers must emulate for our world to become the peaceful paradise it is meant to be - once again...

WE Love you Dennis!

Dearest Jean,

Thank you for your continued presence.

As for darling....we have only just begun.....

Whether Dennis does or does not get the nomination this time he will continue to advocate and lead our people. He is a man with a vision, just like so many of us, and we all together will never give up. The way I think about it Martin Luther King was never president and yet he led the people, Cesar Chavez, Gandhi, to name only a few.... Dennis has this same passion and potential, and yet he is also a Congressman which gives him an extra bonus..... He is already deep within politics.

In my understanding it takes every piece of the puzzle to make peace, and thus we are all equally important within this process. I'm sure you have many many gifts, and among them is distribution of information.... very important....

Personally I am a trained midwife turned performer. In this way, instead of healing the world one birth at a time, I can do my best to shine my light and love for as many people a night as possible.

As the National Musicians Coordinator for the Dennis J. Kucinich 4 President Campaign I set up a network of several thousand musicians around the world who are all dedicated to not only Dennis, but to peace and social justice on a whole.

As the results of this primary election grow closer I find myself in a state of transition. Moving toward a broader perspective of the evolution-revolution which lies ahead, while keeping clear faith in my heart that all will be as needs be.

I believe music is a universal language, and has the power to manifest freedom, as we have seen in South Africa, (be sure to see the movie Amandla ~ A Revolution in Four Part Harmony). My intention is to create a link between musicians and progressive organizations. To work with others in publishing a directory of world wide organizations dedicated to peace in order to make communication in and amongst us easier. The only thing the conservatives have over us is organization, and I believe we stand of the threshold of clear communication and unification.

I will continue to organize musicians who would like to be involved and associated with Musicians for Social Change. In order for them to be involved they will be required to have voter registration at all their venues and space for local non-profit organizations in each town. They will also be required to print their flyers on hemp paper with natural inks. This is only the beginning.....I know we can, I know we can, I know we can!

I will end by writing you the lyrics to a song which my husband John and I wrote. It is titled "Weaving a Blanket of Peace".....

For thousands of years, generations in tears,
mothers have been crying, for their babies have been dying.
It's time to take a stand, give peace a lending hand,
by opening up our doors, to our friends and world once more.
United we stand, divided we will fall.
God bless America, and God bless us all.
We are all just people trying to live out our lives,
trying to get along, while this world shrinks in size.

~We all have different gifts, that make us who we are,
~none more important than the other, united we live as sisters and brothers.
~Weeeeeeaving a blanket of peace,
~Weeeeeeaving a blanket of peace.

The United States of America fights it's foreign wars,
leaving it's own people deprived and needing more.
The resources are there, there's plenty for all to share.
We can show the world we care, by dealing with domestic affairs.
We need to listen to our people, ask them what they need.
We've got to re-design our system based on compassion and not on greed.
Utilize the strengths of all, weaving them together,
creating a blanket of peace that will last for ever.

~We all have different gifts, that make us who we are,
~none more important than the other, united we live as sisters and brothers.
~Weeeeeeaving a blanket of peace,
~Weeeeeeaving a blanket of peace.

If we believe that war is necessary, war is what we'll get.
If we believe that peace is possible, peace is what we'll get.
We have a department of defence, we need a department of peace.
We have an army for war, let's create an army for life.....

~We all have different gifts, that make us who we are,
~none more important than the other, united we live as sisters and brothers.
~Weeeeeeaving a blanket of peace,
~Weeeeeeaving a blanket of peace.
~Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaving a blanket of peace.

John and I have recently been given the title of Musical Ambassadors for the proposed Department of Peace. We have also started our own army....The Vibration Army... dedicated to using music, dance, art and positivity as a means of helping to unify our people and create peace and sustainability on earth.

Although so many are dying and so many are crying I have never been stronger in my life. I am ready to move forward, and never stop until we get there.

Much love to you Jean. Once I get my thoughts more organized I will send you a copy of my Musicians 4 Social Change Newsletter. Maybe at some point you will be interested in incorporating my information into your Earth Rainbow love messages.....

White light health insurance to you and all.....

Subject: WHAT CAN WE DO?

By Donna Henes, Urban Shaman*

Lately I have been receiving letters practically daily from folks who are depressed, frustrated, and disillusioned by the frightening direction of our government’s policies. "What can I do?" they ask me. "I feel so helpless."

First of all, don’t be -- depressed, frustrated and disillusioned, that is. Know that you are doing what you can and that it counts. Every single solitary thing that we each do and say and, especially, think really does count. More than we can ever believe.

Some might argue that we don't have any choice in this upside down dangerous world and that we can't effect what will happen. But even if we can't immediately alter the course of human events on the world stage, we can certainly create change in our own lives and in all of the lives that we touch. And our thoughts are the seeds of that change.

Dr. Christiane Northrup writes, "Use your thoughts wisely. Understand their power. Thoughts have a tendency to become their physical equivalent. This is one of the fundamental laws of the universe. Another one is the law of attraction, which states that 'like attracts like.' Because it is consciousness that creates reality, the kind of consciousness you hold -- your vibration -- actually creates the kind of life you're living." So our first order of business must be to stay positive. To entertain only positive possibilities. To imagine only affirmative alternatives. To surround ourselves with wholly uplifting, life-affirming people and influences. To align ourselves solely with the greater good so that our actions will be born of only the finest of our best intentions.

Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead. —Louisa May Alcott

What we all have to do from now on is to stay alert, stay centered, keep connected and most important of all, keep talking. Talking, writing, protesting keeps the light of truth and tolerance shining upon the hidden agendas of governments, industries, institutions and individuals. Silence, like the dark of night, shelters nefarious deeds. Silence forgives violence.

I have been haunted recently by the words written by a Protestant minister after the downfall of the Nazi regime. "First they came for the gays. I am not gay, so I didn’t say anything. Then they came for the Gypsies. I am not a Gypsy, so I didn’t say anything. Then they came for the Jews. I am not a Jew, so I didn’t say anything. Then they came for the Catholics. I am not a Catholic, so I didn’t say anything. When they finally came for me, there was no one left to say anything."

Be bold. Make a statement. Make a stand. Make a difference.

In light of the widespread oppression, manipulation, intimidation that surrounds us today, we most certainly need to say something. We need. In fact, to talk to everyone who we meet, actually engage on a human level with those who we encounter as we make it through our day. Not just our families, friends and colleagues -- those of presumed like-minds -- but the shoe repair guy, the waitress at the coffee shop, the post office clerk, the bag boy at the super market.

A good example is Diane, one of the wonderful people who regularly attends my healing circles. She not only prays for the homeless men and women who live on her block, she calls them each by name. I am so impressed and inspired by her personal outreach to these "untouchables." Everybody is, after all, somebody.

If we ignore, exploit or patronize those people whose lives intersect with ours, how can we expect international relations to be more civilized? We need to walk our talk wherever we go, whatever we do, remembering always, that by doing so we do make a difference. Let us each be a sun, sending our caring energy out into the world, shedding light wherever we go. You never know who you might touch with the radiance of your warmth.

I have an outgoing message on my answering machine that doesn’t even say, "Hello." It just starts right in with, "You know there really is still a chance for peace and that chance will definitely increase if we each do our piece. So let’s make peace -- in our homes, in our own hearts, in our relationships, in our communities, in all of our dealings and in the world. Peace be with us all."

Much to my surprise, the very people who I never would have thought would respond favorably have. The overwhelmingly positive reactions that I have received from workmen, telephone solicitors, and service personnel has been an important lesson about the necessity to reach out beyond the boundaries of our biases, assumptions, and expectations.

A few weeks ago, I came home to a message from the plumber who was making an appointment to fix my sink. After listening to my taped pep talk, he answered in his gravely Brooklyn brogue, "Yeah, what is this war all about, anyway? Why are we fighting those people? They never hurt us." This, from someone I would have assumed to be a proponent of the war.

The electrician, another guy who really shocked me, loves the message and calls in daily just to hear it! Once I was here when he called and when I picked up, he complained. "Let me call back again," he implored. "I want to hear the message. It makes me feel good." The reason, he explained, is that it is not political. It is personal. And it touches his heart.

But why was I surprised? People are just people, after all. When you think about it, all people are of a like-mind when it comes to living a life unthreatened by hatred and violence. The urgency for war only seems enticing when it is waged elsewhere. Ask anyone. "Do you want bombs and missiles to blow up your house?" Every parent has the right to put her/his child to sleep each night without any risk of that child being shot, trapped in the midst of some hostile crossfire -- be it in Iraq, Afghanistan, Ireland, Angola, Sudan, or the South Bronx. No one wants to live and work in a war zone – whether it be Palestine, Bosnia, Zimbabwe, the World Trade Center, or East L.A.

So, buck up and say what is on your mind. The more you do so, the more empowered you will feel.

We become just by performing just actions, temperate by performing temperate actions, brave by performing brave actions. —Aristotle

"Bycyklen" - Copenhagen's City Bike Program

The following is about the Copenhagen City Bike Program. For more information on the history of Public-Use Bicycle Programs, read more in "Smart Bikes: Public Transportation for the 21st Century", or for an update of the Smart Bike movement read an article in the Winter 2003 issue of Transportation Quarterly. You can also learn about Helsinki, Finland's new City Bike Program.

On May 30, 1995, the City Bike Program, or "Bycyklen" in Danish (pronounced BU'-su-klen), was launched. This public/private partnership placed 1,100 specially-designed bicycles throughout downtown Copenhagen, Denmark for public use. The City Bike program is a remarkable example of a successful, sustainable venture that is helping to solve many urban problems, such as vehicular pollution, traffic congestion, and bicycle theft, while providing an efficient means of transportation around the old city, decreasing the need for parking, and making the city a safer place to work and live.

The Bikes provide a means of efficient, fast, and non-polluting transportation throughout town and are a great alternative to cars and taxis which gridlock city streets. A main concept of the City Bikes is to dissuade the usage of cars within the downtown area and keep clean this medieval part of the city with its unique winding cobblestone streets, Danish architecture, outdoor cafes, and numerous walking-streets.

The Bikes were designed to be durable, adjustable, and economic. Emblazoned with a sponsoring company's ad on its disk wheels and horizontal panel, the City Bikes are unmistakable in their appearance. For example, the seat-post is adjustable for the varying heights of its users. To cut down on costs and extra parts, the brakes work by pedaling backwards rather than requiring the extra components for a front and rear handbrake. The City Bikes were also ingeniously designed so that their components couldn't be scavenged for use on other bikes because the components are incompatible with other bikes and one needs a special tool to disassemble the bike.

To use a City Bike, the user deposits a coin worth 20 Danish "kroner" (about $2.25) into a slot, found on the handlebar of the bike, in order to unlock it from a bike rack. The user can then ride the City Bike for as long as s/he wishes, provided that s/he remain within the designated boundary of the old city. To return the bike, the user simply locks it to any of the 120 City Bike racks strategically located around the city at train and bus stops, multi-story housing flats, shopping districts, and tourist attractions. Once the bike is locked, the user's coin will be returned; so the bike's use really is free.

The boundary that the bikes must remain in is composed of four man-made "lakes" and the harbor. City Bike use outside of the boundary, which is considered as theft, has a hefty penalty of 1,000 kroner (about $170), although few have actually been fined. However, Bikes that have been removed from the boundary can be brought back inside without the fear of a fine. The police have been asked to fine City Bike users outside of the zone, but have not been strict. In 1995 and 1996, there were only 10 fines.

The City Bikes are extremely well used. Politiken followed a City Bike for 12 hours and found that it spent only eight minutes not in use. With all this wear and tear, the 1995 City Bikes were examined and 46 adaptations were made to the 1996 model, including thickening of the puncture-proof tires and strengthening of the frame, making the 1996 City Bikes even safer and more durable than before. With the adaptations made, 1,700 new City Bikes replaced the old ones in 1996.

Eventually all the Bikes will need repair, so when they do they are either fixed on the spot if possible, or picked up by the Copenhagen Road Department and taken to a local jail where they are fixed by inmates. Hans Ankær, Jail Workshop Supervisor, said, "The prisoners like the work and support the whole idea." Ankær also noted that the inmates take pride in their work and feel good about their positive and tangible contribution to the city.

It can be said that bicycling is in the blood of Danish culture. Danes don't treat the bicycle as a toy which is grown out of, but as a practical form of transportation and recreation. The City Bike program is working so well that word has been spreading throughout Europe. New City Bike programs are either just beginning or in the works in Berlin, Hanover, Mannheim, Munich, Trier, Barcelona, Brussels, Stockholm, and even back in Amsterdam. With the continued success of the City Bikes and their expansion across Europe, who knows, the U.S. might one day soon welcome it to our shores.

Smart Bikes: Public Transportation for the 21st Century
Washington, DC. One mode of transportation has largely been overlooked which is ideal in an urban setting and inexpensive to purchase and maintain—the bicycle. Bicycles are not commonly thought of as a form of public transportation; however, recent technological advances have allowed this to be successfully challenged throughout the world, and soon here in the US, with the “Smart Bike.” The public-use bicycle concept began in 1968 as an ideology of a progressive era with the “White Bikes” of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The White Bikes were ordinary bikes, painted white, and provided for the public to use. However, the program was abused and it collapsed within days. Again in 1995, this time in Copenhagen, Denmark, a second generation of public-use bicycles was launched with improvements. These bikes were specially manufactured and could be picked-up and returned at specific locations throughout the inner city with a coin deposit. The “City Bike” program continues today in Copenhagen and many additional cities around Europe. In addition, informal programs, like that of Amsterdam, presently exist in North America. The problem of theft gave rise to a third generation of public-use bicycle programs, the Smart Bike. A high tech solution involving intelligent transportation systems has allowed public-use bicycles to be “smartened,” and, therefore, better tracked. (...) As of Fall 2003, 10 Smart Bike programs existed around the world. Eight of these programs are operated by Clear Channel Adshel (, and the remaining two are operated by Deutsche Bahn (http://, Germany’s national rail provider. Clear Channel Adshel’s Smart Bike programs are located in: France: Rennes with 250 Smart Bikes; Norway: Drammen with 280, Oslo with 50, and Bergen with 100 Smart Bikes; UK: Cardiff, Wales with 50 Smart Bikes; and Singapore: Bukit Batok, Bukit Gombak, and Pasir Ris with 280 Smart Bikes distributed amongst the three. Deutsche Bahn’s Smart Bike programs are located in Germany: Munich and Berlin, with 1,000 and 1,200 Smart Bikes, respectively. Smart Bikes Riding to Your Town (Soon) A few cities and universities in North America are experimenting with adapting the Smart Bike concept into their own transportation systems. Arlington County, VA, and the author are developing a Smart Bike program for the progressive Washington, DC, suburb with a hopeful launch date of Spring 2003. (...) Smart Bike programs should be implemented in conjunction with a host of bicycle facility improvement measures that not only make bicycling more comfortable for Smart Bike users, but for bicyclists as a whole. This includes bike lanes and trails, bike racks, and a philosophy that puts the concerns of pedestrians and bicycles before single occupant vehicles. The introduction of intelligent transportation systems to the public-use bicycle concept has set the bicycle on the path of becoming revolutionary for urban public transportation systems. Smart Bikes are designed to be complementary with existing transportation modes and therefore encourage increased use of all public transportation systems. In today’s age of rapid technological advancement in transportation, the dawn of the Smart Bike era in North America has just begun. CLIP

Old-style funerals face stiff competition from ecological freeze-dry method

LYR, Sweden (AFP) May 18, 2004

An environmentally-friendly method of burying the dead is offering stiff competition to traditional funerals, transforming corpses into organic compost and giving people the chance to come back as flowers. Six-feet-under burials and cremations hurt the environment by polluting air and water, and upset the ecology of the sea, prompting Swedish biologist Susanne Wiigh to come up with an alternative.

"Nature's original plan was for dead bodies to fall on the earth, be torn apart by animals, and become soil," Wiigh told AFP in Lyr, a small romantic island off Sweden's southwestern coast, where she lives with her family and runs her company, Promessa AB.

Wiigh, who also manages the island's only shop well-stocked with organic food next to an impressive greenhouse, acknowledges that "we clearly can't go back to that", but claims that her method is as close to nature as modern ethics will allow.

The method is chilling: It consists of taking the corpse's temperature to minus 196 degrees Celsius in a liquid nitrogen bath and breaking the brittle body down into a rough powder through mechanical vibrations. The remains are then dehydrated and cleared of any metal, reducing a body weighing 75 kilograms in life to 25 kilograms of pink-beige powder, plus the remains of the coffin. The whole process takes place in a facility resembling a crematorium and lasts for about two hours.

A corpse buried in a coffin will take several years to decompose completely. Wiigh says compost has always been her passion. "For me it's really romantic. It smells good, it feels like gold," she said. And like all compost, human remains should be used to feed plants and shrubs, planted by a dead person's family, and would disappear completely into the plant within a few years, she believes.

"The plant becomes the perfect way to remember the person. When a father dies, we can say: the same molecules that built Daddy also built this plant" said Wiigh, whose dead cat, Tussan, currently nourishes a rhododendron bush in her front garden.

Wiigh herself, a quiet-spoken woman with an easy smile who dedicates 60 hours a week to Promessa, would herself also like to turn into a rhododendron, of the white variety.

What may look like no more than an ecologist's dream vision may well have serious business potential, breathing new life into an innovation-shy industry, which seems almost as inanimate as its customers.

Industrial gases company AGA Gas, part of Germany's Linde group, has invested in the idea, taking a controlling stake of 53 percent in Promessa, alongside Wiigh's 42 percent and 5 percent which are held by the Church of Sweden. "The commercial potential could be quite large," AGA spokesman Olof Kaellgren, whose company contributes expertise of the nitrogen cooling process, told AFP.

But he stressed that AGA considers the new method to be "a complement to already existing methods and therefore giving a new opportunity to make a choice that for many people feel better than today's alternative." The city of Joenkoeping, in southwestern Sweden, has already decided that it will not replace its outdated crematorium, instead becoming the first customer of Promessa.

The installation, which will be cheaper than the 2 million euro price tag for a new crematorium, is to be ready next year. Promessa has applied for patents in 35 countries. Its immediate foreign markets are in ecology-conscious Northern Europe and include Scandinavia, Britain, Germany and the Netherlands, where the next installation is likely to be built.

But queries have come from as far away as South Africa, where the soil often lacks the depth needed for ordinary burials. There may also be sales potential in countries where religion makes cremation difficult or impossible, such as Muslim countries.

And Swedish designers have been stirred into action by the new method, focusing their attention on making containers which are smaller than traditional coffins, but larger than ash urns, and biodegradable. Stockholm design graduate Linda Jaerned has made two prototypes, for those who would like the freeze-dried remains to be buried in a container, rather than just mixed with soil.

One is a soft tube made of felt, resembling a paper dragon in a Chinese New Year parade, while the other is a more traditional-looking box made of plywood and linen.

"The first one will disintegrate completely in about a year, and the second one will last longer, maybe up to five years," Jaerned told AFP at the Stockholm design school. "I think this is the future. "We don't have so much space for the dead. The living will take more and more space," said Jaerned.

Taken from "Introduction to the Planetary Awakening Network (PAN) + A Mystical Experience in QUMRAN

In this January 17, 2000 compilation, I wrote the following:

A year ago I received the following from Maggie Erotokritou (she is from Cyprus) commenting on my correspondance with Michael Lightweaver about the new Planetary Awakening Network name in the process of being chosen at that time and I had not forwarded it to you yet. Reading this you'll find that she had a most extraordinary mystical experience. I wonder if there has been any new development since... Her comment about the great potential for this PAN network also brings up the realization that we could be doing much more, especially lately, to respond to local or global crises (for instance, no one has circulated any ALERT yet regarding the war in Chechnya...). Furtunately, we've had our traveling Peace Minstrel, James Twyman, to motivate us all into joining together for specific meditation rendez-vous. However, the lack of such globally arranged rendez-vous does not necessarily mean that people do not feel compelled to meditate whenever there are conflicts or Peace breakthroughs in-the-work as for the Israel-Syria negociations now underway in the USA. Any responsible lightworker knows that there is no need for global calls to get active in supporting and nurturing through his/her meditations and prayers the spiritual collective pool of peace and love energies that continuously works wonders to smooth out the way towards a peaceful, just and environmentally sustainable future for all. The call only needs to come from Within - usually just at the peak moment when it is most essential - for us to respond, and take a few minutes off to offer ourselves as an instrument of His/Her Will.

So here is what Maggie had to say...

Dear Jean,

I don't know whether I was supposed to receive your reply to Michael or not but anyhow I wanted to respond to it. I liked your ideas and your dream about co-creating a global vision and global spiritual community. The initial idea of having an alert network was great but I too feel only a starting point and that there is much more that we can do. We have this network set up and it can expand and go much further. I feel a sense of drawing together and creating oneness and yes like you said creating the 100th monkey effect.

I would also like to share with you some of my recent experiences in Kumran and specifically yesterday when an important vortex seemed to be activated which flooded my body and opened my heart chakra. You might like to use parts of it in your next newsletter if that feels appropriate. Love and light, Maggie

Several of you have been reminding me that I had promised to write about my experiences in Qumran. Because of something very significant that happened today it seems the right time to do this. When I first heard the name Qumran a couple of years ago on an Essene workshop, there was such a familiarity, a sense of remembrance that I wanted to go there, wherever it was. I found out that Qumran is in Israel and later read that it has been said to be the place where Jesus received his initial training as an Essene to become one of the greatest healers ever. It is also the place where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. A whole library of information still exists within the caves.

Last October when I went to the Middle East Lightworkers conference I also wanted to visit Qumran but it seemed it would not be possible on that trip. However because of certain events and a meeting with a man called Victor Barr, at the last moment we changed our plans, rescheduled our flights and went to Qumran.

On the last night of the conference visitors joined us and I was given a piece of jewelry made by Victor Barr. This jewel acts as a transmitter of energy and it enabled me to access certain information about Qumran. I was told that a group of us should go there to meditate in the cave and to open and activate an energy vortex deep within the mountain. Over the next 24 hours, exact and precise details of how this should be done were revealed.

At the appointed time, five of us set off for Kumran, climbed the steep mountain and did the work we had been instructed to do. It was no coincidence that the five of us had been drawn together to do this work, two from America, two of us from Cyprus and one from Israel. What happened exactly during that time is hard to understand, only to say that the energy was so powerful that it turned our lives upside down and inside out and set our lives in new directions.

Until a week ago I had been unable to use the jewel again or to think about what had taken place, the dust was still settling. Then last week I received a call from a friend in Israel to say on a psychic level a healing room had been discovered deep within the mountain. Whilst on the phone I tuned in and could see this room which was full of the most brightest light I had ever seen but information started coming through that it should not be touched or accessed yet and only those who were pure in mind, body and spirit would be allowed to enter this sacred place at the right time. A group from Israel have started going to a specific point on the top of Qumran where they can feel the energy from this room emanating.

Today as I was driving the two hour journey from Nicosia to Paphos I was suddenly and unexpectedly almost blinded by a flash of light which I saw and knew to be from the healing room in Qumran. A vortex within the room had activated and I felt this in my heart chakra which was also activated in the same way and radiated masses of light, this continued for quite some time although I had no sense of time and arrived in Paphos hardly knowing how I had got there.

Something very important is taking place right now in Qumran, remember this is said to be one of the major vortexes of the Earth and some people have said they can see the energy radiating out for miles from there. Friends in Israel are also now picking up some sort of activity and radiance which has not been felt in this way before.

For those of you who are interested to tune into this, please do so and I would be very interested to hear your feedback and may be a small group could form to focus on this, let me know if you are interested. Please pass on this information to friends who may be interested.

Love and light,

Maggie Erotokritou

Subject: Greetings From New PAN Coordinator

Dear Friends and Lightworkers,

It is with great joy that I am writing to you today for the first time as I move into my new role of taking on the stewardship of PAN. I would like to thank all of you who have sent me such welcoming and supportive messages to which I am gradually responding.

Today is the Wesak full moon, also known as the full moon of the Buddha and a full moon eclipse, the perfect time to move into a new way of being and doing and for the further expansion of ourselves and the fulfillment of ourdesires that are in alignment with the greater plan for humanity. PAN I believe has a very important part to play in this expansion.

When Michael asked me to take over PAN I was taken completely by surprise but at the same time it felt completely right and as though everything since our first meeting in Israel and certain events that followed had prepared and brought us to this point in time.

As Michael has said, it is time for PAN to move to the next level. Michael spent many years of dedicated service building up this extensive and powerful network, he diligently collected the lightworkers from all around the world and now it is time for PAN to become more active. How this will happen will show in the weeks and months to come.

I am open to your ideas on how to do this, you are the network, I am just the steward helping to gather and hold the energy.

On this blessed and sacred day and for the days to come, I propose that we hold an image of global unification for the world, lighting up the world from person to person and from place to place until we reach the full objective of enlightenment, peace and joy for the whole of humanity and the world. Several years ago I had a vision of lights all over the world and those tiny lights being linked up. Michael who I did not know at the time also had the same vision. I started the Women's Spiritual Network and later the Global Spiritual Network and Michael started PAN. I was there at the very beginning of PAN, part of a small group who came together to hold the energy at that time, and to help with its conception.

So together let us hold the vision, and visualize and imagine the light filling and opening our hearts, minds and souls and speading everywhere and feel the strength of the spiritual power that we create together, one global spiritual family connecting together in the spirit of service towards the higher good of all.

Love, light and blessings and a heart filled welcome to you all.
