The Empire of Darkness Series #14: Hurricane Bush Bearing Down on The World

Hello everyone

As Najaf and other cities in Iraq are bearing the brunt once again today of air bombardment by US killers, the consequences of these ongoing atrocities go mostly unreported by the complacent Western media. Yet some information still filtrates out occasionally - see "U.S. Military Kills Scores of Civilians Near Mosul and Falluja" at

Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg of the incredibly brutal wars America has been waging almost non stop for the last 50 years either directly or through the proxy armies of their dictatorial friends around the world. And now the pogrom may soon be coming down on the American people themselves unless they somehow succeed to get rid of their current brutish and fraudulent White House resident whose evil deeds are partly chronicled in this compilation.

That is not jolly-jolly, yet it is part of the reality we must face so as to know what to do to help rid the world of all violence.

Four nuclear wars indeed, and 10 times the amount of radiation released into the atmosphere from atmospheric testing!"

Hurricane Ivan devastates Grenada (Sept 9)
Hurricane Ivan has brought widespread devastation to the Caribbean "spice isle" island of Grenada, damaging 90 per cent of homes and destroying a 17th century stone prison that left criminals on the loose as looting erupted. The storm, which has already pummeled Barbados and is blamed for at least 15 deaths, is the most powerful hurricane to hit the Caribbean in 10 years. It is now on course for Jamaica, Cuba and the hurricane-weary southern United States. (...) The storm strengthened early Thursday to become a Category 5 on a scale of 5. It packed sustained winds of 160 mph (255 kph) with higher gusts as it passed north of the Dutch Caribbean islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao.

Scientist: Extreme weather will kill millions
EXETER, England - Millions of people across the globe are set to die early due to extreme weather events such as floods and heat waves caused by climate change, a British scientist said Tuesday. Professor Mike Pilling cited the heatwave in Europe last year that killed thousands of people from a combination of heat exhaustion and an increase in atmospheric pollution. "We will experience an increase in extreme weather events," he told reporters at the annual meeting of the British Association for the Advancement of Science. "There are predictions of a 10-fold increase in heat waves. "The increasing frequency of these will inevitably result in a sharp increase in the premature deaths of people," he added. Pilling, professor of Physical Chemistry at Leeds University in northern England, said atmospheric pollution was like a plague stretching across the planet -- although far worse in the industrialized northern hemisphere than the southern -- as pollutants drifted from Asia to the United States to Europe and back to Asia. The Polls Come Back to Earth (07 September 2004)
It has been a wild week for numbers. Immediately after the Republican Convention, Time and Newsweek released poll numbers indicating a significant bounce for George W. Bush, and an 11 point lead over John Kerry. A few days go by, however, and the air appears to have been let out of the tires. The new Rasmussen poll has the two Presidential candidates tied 47.3% to 47.3%. This leads to an inescapable conclusion: If all these numbers are correct - Time, Newsweek and Rasmussen - then Mr. Bush has suffered an historic cratering in his poll numbers within 100 hours of the close of his party's convention. But perhaps the ballyhooed post-convention lead enjoyed by Bush never existed at all. Pollster John Zogby says, "I have Mr. Bush leading by 2 points in the simple head-to-head match up - 46% to 44%. Add in the other minor candidates and it becomes a 3 point advantage for the President - 46% to simply is not an 11 point race. It just isn't." It should be noted that Rasmussen provided the core data for both the TIME and Newsweek polls. Their independent interpretation of the very same data produced dramatically different conclusions than those reached by TIME and Newsweek. The 'Bush bounce' after the convention has either disappeared completely, or never existed at all. Neither bodes well for the incumbent. Gallup, which has on many occasions appeared to be working as a PR arm of the Bush election campaign, paints an interesting political perspective: "Bush's two-point convention bounce is one of the smallest registered in Gallup polling history, along with Hubert Humphrey's two-point bounce following the 1968 Democratic convention, George McGovern's zero-point bounce following the 1972 Democratic convention, and Kerry's "negative bounce" of one point among registered voters earlier this year. Bush's bounce is the smallest an incumbent president has received."

Edwards Calls Cheney Remark 'Un-American' (Sept. 8, 2004)
Clarksburg W.Va. - Sen. John Edwards accused Vice President Dick Cheney of "un-American" campaign rhetoric on Wednesday, answering the Republican's day-old charge that a vote for the Democratic ticket this fall could open the United States to another terrorist attack. "This statement by the vice president of the United States was intended to divide us," said Edwards, vice presidential running mate to Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry. "It was calculated to divide us on an issue of safety and security for the American people. It's wrong and it's un-American." The Democrat called on President Bush to renounce Cheney's comments. Edwards made his comments to supporters while campaigning in West Virginia, a day after Cheney said at a town hall meeting in Iowa, "It's absolutely essential that eight weeks from today, on Nov. 2, we make the right choice, because if we make the wrong choice then the danger is that we'll get hit again and we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States."

Dumbest Election Ever (10 September 2004)
The clearest indication that the country is coming out from under the massive psychological concussion of September 11 is the fact that we are all enduring the stupidest Presidential election season in recent memory. If we were all still walking around in the cat-like state of readiness we operated under for at least a year after the attacks, we wouldn't put up with this garbage.

U.S. Conceding Rebels Control Regions of Iraq (Sept 8)
WASHINGTON - As American military deaths in Iraq operations surpassed the 1,000 mark, top Pentagon officials said Tuesday that insurgents controlled important parts of central Iraq and that it was unclear when American and Iraqi forces would be able to secure those areas. (...)  A two-month hiatus before major force is applied to rebel areas would also mean a delay until after the American presidential election, but senior officials insist there is no domestic political calculus in the decision to wait - only a conviction that time is needed for negotiation and for Iraqi forces to gain strength. (...) In an unusual step for a Pentagon that tends to avoid citing body counts as a measure of success, Mr. Rumsfeld said American and allied forces had probably killed 1,500 to 2,500 insurgents last month.  But other American officials are more pessimistic about the prospects for regaining control of those areas. One noted, for example, that attacks on American forces rose to 2,700 in August, from 700 in March.  General Myers conceded that American forces faced a tough, adaptive foe. "The enemy is becoming more sophisticated in his efforts to destabilize the country," he said.

Civilian Casualties in Iraq: Civilian toll now 37,000
An Iraqi political group says more than 37,000 Iraqi civilians were killed between the start of the US-led invasion in March 2003 and October 2003. The People's Kifah, or Struggle Against Hegemony, movement said in a statement that it carried out a detailed survey of Iraqi civilian fatalities during September and October 2003.Its calculation was based on deaths among the Iraqi civilian population only, and did not count losses sustained by the Iraqi military and paramilitary forces. The Insurgency: U.S. Military Kills Scores in Fighting Near Mosul (Sept. 9)
After a long morning of fierce but one-sided combat near the northern city of Mosul on Thursday, American forces said they had killed 57 enemy fighters with great precision, and without a single American casualty. But a local hospital said it had received scores of civilian dead and wounded, including women and children, a reminder of the human and political costs of military victory in battlegrounds like this one, near the Syrian border and a hub of Sunni resistance. Several civilians were also killed Thursday in an American bombing raid on what was described as a terrorist location in the rebel stronghold of Falluja. An initial military report said no civilians had been at the site but that account was changed following later news reports and photographs.

(...) Across the land, the image of an "outside enemy" is instilled in the consciousness of Americans. Al Qaeda is threatening America and the world. The repeal of democracy under the Patriot legislation is portrayed as a means to providing "domestic security" and upholding civil liberties. This evolving bipartisan consensus is based on a lie. Sen. Graham: Bush Covered Up Saudi Involvement in 9/11 (08 September 2004)
The former chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee tells Salon that the White House has suppressed convincing evidence that the Saudi royal family supported at least two of the hijackers. As the Senate Intelligence Committee chairman during the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks and the run-up to the Iraq war, Sen. Bob Graham tried to expose what he came to believe were national security coverups and manipulations by the Bush administration. But he discovered that it was hard to reveal a coverup playing by the rules. Much of the evidence the Florida Democrat needed to buttress his arguments was being locked away, he found, under the veil of politically motivated classification. Now, as he prepares to retire after 18 years in the Senate, the normally cautious former governor of Florida is unleashing himself in a new book, "Intelligence Matters: The CIA, the FBI, Saudi Arabia and the Failure of America's War on Terror." In his book, Graham asserts that the White House blocked investigations into Saudi Arabian government support for the 9/11 plot, in part because of the Bush family's close ties to the Saudi royal family and wealthy Saudis like the bin Ladens. Behind the White House's insistence on classifying 27 pages detailing the Saudi links in a report issued by a joint House-Senate intelligence panel co-chaired by Graham in 2002 lay the desire to hide the administration's deficiencies and protect its Saudi allies, according to Graham. Reject the National ID Card

Ron Paul

Washington politicians are once again seriously considering imposing a national identification card - and it may well become law before the end of the 108th Congress. The much-hailed 9/11 Commission report released in July recommends a federal identification card and, worse, a "larger network of screening points" inside the United States. Does this mean we are to have "screening points" inside our country where American citizens will be required to "show their papers" to government officials? It certainly sounds that way!

As I have written recently, the 9/11 Commission is nothing more than ex-government officials and lobbyists advising current government officials that we need more government for America to be safe. Yet it was that same government that failed so miserably on September 11, 2001.

Congress has embraced the 9/11 Commission report uncritically since its release in July. Now Congress is rushing to write each 9/11 Commission recommendation into law before the November election. In the same way Congress rushed to pass the PATRIOT Act after the September 11 attacks to be seen "doing something," it looks like Congress is about to make the same mistake again of rushing to pass liberty-destroying legislation without stopping to consider the consequences. Because it is so controversial, we may see legislation mandating a national identification card with biometric identifiers hidden in bills implementing 9/11 Commission recommendations. We have seen this technique used in the past on controversial measures.

A national identification card, in whatever form it may take, will allow the federal government to inappropriately monitor the movements and transactions of every American. History shows that governments inevitably use the power to monitor the actions of people in harmful ways. Claims that the government will protect the privacy of Americans when implementing a national identification card ring hollow. We would do well to remember what happened with the Social Security number. It was introduced with solemn restrictions on how it could be used, but it has become a de facto national identifier.

Those who are willing to allow the government to establish a Soviet-style internal passport system because they think it will make us safer are terribly mistaken. Subjecting every citizen to surveillance and "screening points" will actually make us less safe, not in the least because it will divert resources away from tracking and apprehending terrorists and deploy them against innocent Americans!

The federal government has no constitutional authority to require law-abiding Americans to present any form of identification before they engage in private transactions. Instead of forcing all Americans to prove to law enforcement that they are not terrorists, we should be focusing our resources on measures that really will make us safer. For starters, we should take a look at our dangerously porous and unguarded borders. We have seen already this summer how easy it is for individuals possibly seeking to do us harm to sneak across the border into our country. In July, Pakistani citizen Farida Goolam Mahomed Ahmed, who is on the federal watch list, reportedly crossed illegally into Texas from Mexico. She was later arrested when she tried to board a plane in New York, but she should have never been able to cross our border in the first place!

We must take effective measures to protect ourselves from a terrorist attack. That does not mean rushing to embrace legislation that in the long run will do little to stop terrorism, but will do a great deal to undermine the very way of life we should be protecting. Just as we must not allow terrorists to threaten our lives, we must not allow government to threaten our liberties. We should reject the notion of a national identification card.

Subject: The SECRET Government

Aloha! Are you aware that there are tens-of-thousands of SECRET people operating in unknown numbers of SECRET places worldwide under many SECRET programs through numerous SECRET agencies, paid for by U.S. taxpayers at the rate of an estimated $50 billion per year, the exact amount of which is kept SECRET in violation of Article 1 Section 9 of the U.S. Constitution?

The SECRET agencies include the NSA, CIA, DIA and NRO, a so-called "intelligence" community growing in power since the end of World War II by waging SECRET wars, SECRETLY overthrowing foreign governments, SECRETLY bribing officials, SECRETLY subverting elections, and much more!

Former insiders and many researchers have revealed the SECRET Government is engaged in establishing the "New World Order" - of, for and by economic and political elitists - whose greed for "power" has historically seen no limits! Is this to be our future?

How is this world going to arrive at a "balance of power"? Let's start looking realisitically beyond the U.S. Presidential election, for there is minor difference between "Mr. Skull and Mr. Bones" in regard to the NWO!

Let's reorganize the world for balance!

Bush Bullies and RepubliNazis: End the Criminal Charade Now!

Surely people throughout the world listening to recent speeches by Republicans in America are aghast, mouths agape, feeling they are witnessing a dangerous delusion armed to the gnashing teeth, shades of the rallies in Germany under the Third Reich. Similar themes of triumph, superiority, freedom and greatness through war imposed on a world in need of American influence, constantly threatened by the evil terrorist enemy. The problem with this picture is that none of it bears resemblance to the reality of chaos and desperation in Iraq and Afghanistan, or the animosity and indignity generated by Bush's agenda around the world.

This Republican regime seized power through an astoundingly undemocratic process 4 years ago, and the only thing keeping them from impeachment and imprisonment is an intimidated corporate media, which should be exposing their extreme abuses of power and profiteering being jammed into the world like a poison syringe.

Just as the propagandists and apologists of the Nazi state enabled Hitler to expand his warfront beyond containment, the corporate media have allowed a stolen election in Florida, countless smears and slanders, energy and corporate piracy, insider trading and favoritism, bombing of civilians, imprisonment and torture of suspects indefinitely in concentration camps, policies of annihilation, Bush and Bin Laden family collaborations, without investigative effort to expose these criminal activities run out of the White House.

One report on Karl Rove's violation of National Security by exposing a covert CIA agent would send this man to prison where he belongs. One 60 minute interview with the heads of U.S.'s intelligence allies at the time of 9-11, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, would send every American into the streets screaming for impeachment. One front page article fully exposing Cheney's double dealing with Enron and Halliburton would put the Vice-President in front of a congressional tribunal where he belongs. And George Bush: how about addressing his continous lies and deceptions? Can't anyone in the "intelligensia" have the courage to call his "Nazi speak" into question: annihilation, evil enemies, war on terror, homeland security, victory... while the megaton bombs fall on the defenseless?

There is a growing chasm between what the RepubliNazi movement is preaching in its propaganda, backed by their corporate cronies in the media, and what the world is witnessing in the outlands where American weapons are blasting away at anyone who resists. While freedom and security are being brutally impacted at home and abroad, they preach the exact opposite. While our children are being robbed to the point of destitution by Bush's corporate cronies, they claim prosperity. While heavily armed troops and stealth bombers are directed by satellite and computer to round up and annihilate the "enemy" they claim democracy is spreading.

Why did 9-11 happen, why is America occupying Iraq? None of it would have happened if the U.S. media had done its duty and reported the CIA-style theft of the Florida election. Instead they followed the criminally corrupted Fox News report that Bush had won, despite evidence to the contrary.

When the survivors of this time question "how did you allow it to happen?" as we do of the Germans a generation ago, we can place a great deal of responsibilty on the pundits and producers of the ever-present American propaganda machine, droning on in cars and homes endlessly magnifying and legitimizing the corruption, lies, and murderous road of hellish intentions.

When you ride with George Bush, remember you are riding with Bin Laden. They are the same coin, the same ticking package. Hatred, vengeance, preemption, enemy-orientation, evil-minded, killing for God, etc. Both would make old Adolf proud.

9. Defying and incapacitating the peace making capacity and role of the United Nations by unilateral actions to undermine its potential effectiveness while continuing to coerce and use the U.N. to pursue U.S. policies in Iraq and elsewhere, and coercing and enticing other nations to support U.S. policies and actions in violation of international law in the U.N. 11. Manifesting their continuing commitment to world domination by ordering, directing and condoning violent regime change in Haiti in March 2004 to replace the independent, elected democratic President Jean Bertrand Aristide with a U.S. selected and controlled neo Duvalierist surrogate causing growing violence, hundreds of deaths and further impoverishment of the Haitian people.

12. Threatening the sovereignty and independence of nations, and acting to change regimes that refuse to yield to U.S. demands for economic subservience and political control for U.S. corporate and government interests, including most prominently Cuba, Iran, a divided Korea, the Philippines, Syria, Sudan and Venezuela; and supporting Israel's illegal occupation, brutalization and expanding settlement of Palestine in defiance of the United Nations, international law and world opinion; all of which adds to international anger and violence against the United States and its citizens.

13. Destroying the sovereignty, right to self determination, cultural integrity and control of its own resources of Iraq and its peoples by imposing an interim government headed by a long time C.I.A. asset who directed violence against Iraqi civilians for the U.S. in the 1990's; and manipulating procedures for the imposition of a new Constitution drafted by and installation of a new government chosen through controlled electoral processes and subservient to the will and command of the U.S. government.

14. Usurping the war powers delegated in the constitution to the Congress to pursue wars of aggression and other unlawful military actions; and attempting to pack the federal courts with judges committed to ideologies in conflict with the Constitution of the United States to achieve judicial decisions supporting those ideologies.

15. Systematically weakening fundamental human rights globally and the Bill of Rights of the U.S. Constitution within the U.S. enabling U.S. forces to unlawfully seize individuals in 100 countries, including U.S. citizens and arrest thousands of aliens in the U.S. and hold them, transport them, torture many, deny all access to courts to determine the legality of such seizures, arrest and treatment.

16. Making Guantanamo [U.S. Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay?] a symbol of U.S. power to imprison and abuse persons on the soil of a foreign sovereign nation, Cuba, against its will and to publicize U.S. contempt for human rights by displaying its power to arbitrarily seize, confine and abuse persons without revealing who they are, any charges against them, or what their future may be, placing U.S. power above all laws, international and national, and beyond the reach of all courts, including those of the U.S.

17. Giving economic preferences to favored corporations and business interests to extract enormous profits in both war and peace sectors of the economy from impoverished Iraq and U.S. taxpayers.

18. Systematically utilizing, controlling, directing, manipulating, misinforming and restricting press and media coverage and deliberately presenting false and misleading reports to obtain support for U.S. military and political and actions; and to deprive the American people of knowledge essential to develop an informed opinion, which is essential to democratic processes and elections.

19. All for the purpose of dominating, controlling, and exploiting Iraq and other non compliant nations by military force and economic coercion. In addition to full accountability for the foregoing crimes and full reparation to victims, the offenses constitute “high Crimes and Misdemeanors” under Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution of the United States requiring the removal from office of all the participating civil Officers of the United States upon impeachment for and conviction for their acts.

Embedded Code Broken? Next 911 On September 27?

From Eric May

The email extract below was written by Army Intelligence officer, Captain Eric H. May, on a mission of conscience, in obedience to his oath to defend the US Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. The recipients are expert members or associates of Ghost Troop, a group of former military and concerned citizens who have been successfully picking apart flaws in the cover-up of 911 and the Middle Eastern War since April 5, 2003. Indeed, before founding Ghost Troop, Capt. May began working on the prospect of an attack on the Houston Petrochemical area six months before the FBI put out its summer, 2003 warnings, by publishing an op-ed analysis of the attack scenario in the Houston Chronicle, Feb. 23, 2003. (it is one of five Houston Chronicle war essays by Capt. May at

Since his initial analysis of the prospects of a Houston/Pasadena strike, Capt. May has worked extensively in many areas military intelligence and media analysis, but Ghost Troop only returned to Houston/Pasadena target analysis after the Madrid bombings of 3/11/2004. They were very interested in the numeric oddity that there were 911 days between 911/2001 and 311/2004 - and that the media were not reporting it. It was at this point that Capt. May changed his view of the 911 event, which he had previously believe to be a foreign terror event, and came to believe that it was a staged event, under orders by the Bush White House, intended to start the war in Iraq (and the Middle East at large). This was, after all, the goal that Bush and the Neocons had the day they came to office - but simply had no excuse to enact. For confirmation of this view, refer to the same site of his five war essays, and read his July 8, 2003 op-ed, in which he quotes General Wesley Clark's comments, who expressed the same view on CNN Crossfire, June 25, 2003. For an example of the US Government's willingness to do this in the past (1962, vs. Cuba), refer to the ABC News report on Operation Northwoods ( Using basic numerological ciphering techniques, Capt. May and his associates, Ghost Troop (you can find them under the search phrase, Ghost Troop) alerted the FBI, Homeland Security Agency and many Houston-area police departments that there would be a terror event against a Houston-area petrochemical target on 3/31/2004. After four conversations with three FBI agents, Ghost Troop was threatened with prosecution if it did not desist from its predictions. In response, Capt. May called several Houston-area media outlets, most importantly news radio station KTRH, which in turn called the National FBI. At this point the FBI issued a warning, carried in national media, on 3/25/2004 ( They changed the Ghost Troop prediction by saying that there were "unspecified, uncorroborated, foreign reports" that Al-Qaeda was intending a refinery strike to interrupt the US elections, just as they had done in Madrid on 311.

The strike, contrived by the Bush White House, occurred in Texas City (30 miles from Houston) on 3/30/2004; the Capt. May/Ghost Troop prediction had been accurate to within one day. Although the FBI assured worried Americans that the event was not intentional, the world oil markets believed Capt. May and Ghost Troop, and gasoline futures reached their highest level in history the next day. The news of a terror strike (and its prediction) became a major point of anxiety in the annual OPEC conference, according to Forbes Magazine (

The international markets clearly thought the FBI story was a lie - and it was. In an August 16 email (below) Capt. May explains to Ghost Troop why they were off-date by twenty-four hours in the email extract below, and makes a frightening prediction that the next 911 will occur on 9/27/2004 - the 1111th day after 911, and completely in keeping with the methodology of the time-schedule of the makers of 911 itself, and 311 in Madrid. Please forward this email, with its analysis of the embedded code and its prediction of a 9/27 staged terror event, to all friends and family, and to all local police agencies and fire departments. The more people who are aware of the methodology of the faked terror events there are, the less able the Bush White House will be to carry them out.

From: Eric May Subject: Cryptoanalysis the next Al-CIA-Duh strike against the US Date: 16 Aug 2004

We're either closer to a geopolitical adjustment (i.e., reducing our (sinking) Middle Eastern footprint), or just that much closer to 911 (the sequel), which I've been predicting as 9/27 (i.e., 9/9, i.e., 9=9=18; i.e., 1=8 = 9). Again, 9/27 will be the 1111st day since 911 (which was 11 years from the announcement of the New World Order by King George XLI). I'm hoping and praying that the folks who were scared of the War Conspiracy are more scared of the War Catastrophe nowadays -- but I'm not betting on it. Believe me, Boy George (King George XLIII) has a hard-on for the numerics of September 27, 2004.

Now to the matters numeric for y'all to chew on. First, a rundown on the "elevens":

3/11 (2004): Madrid Al-CIA-Duh bombings, intended to send Spain to the right but achieving the opposite effect. 5/11 (2004): Beheading of Nick Berg (manifestly bogus and post-dated to achieve the date) by Al-CIA-Duh. 7/11 (2004): End of seven-year term (initiated 7/11/97 of George Tenet (not his real name, but the name in Latin means "George Holds/Controls"). Also the Sunday on which the two parties announced on Sunday morning networks shows that Al-CIA-Duh was preparing another strike, "most likely before or after the elections, as the did in Madrid."

8/11 (2004): CIA releases information that the next Al-CIA-Duh attack will entail "political assassinations." This is the Bush Boyz way of threatening the many politicians, military and media who have become aware of the Al-CIA-Duh hoax. "If you tell, we'll kill you and say it was Arab Terrorist!" is the gist of the 8/11 release.

9/11: The granddaddy number: 9/11, 1991 is the day King George XLI announced the New World Order, as we were preparing to attack Iraq in Kuwait (whither we had enticed them by promising that little prize for service rendered on behalf of Uncle Sam when Iraq fought a war against Iran -- yep, it was a set-up, just like Saddam said). ELEVEN years later -- to the day -- it is the day of the domestic facet of the NWO. Nowadays all the media whores delight in saying "the post-911 world/reality" (meaning the police state/paranoid reality, requiring that the US dominate the world just to be safe in the world).

Bonus date: 6/11 (2004) when they buried Ronnie Reagan and Bush made his cryptic "western star rising" eulogy -- 1002 days after 911. The numbers were beautiful on that one: 911/2001, with the 911 "flipping" to 611 while 2001 (the year) reversed to 1002 (the ordinal since 911). In summary, 911/2001 = 611/1002; that one took real manipulation, boyz, and I'm sure Ronnie wasn't present in mind when the SS (as in Secret Service) physicians and agents terminated his term of years in time for the event to take place. He was an actor to the end, after, all, and his last act was to lie in state so that the New World Order could have it's black mass of a funeral -- a rallying signal for the last phase.

Oh, and a last things: I know now why the Texas City petrochemical explosion/fire took place on March 30 (2004), and must now admit that I was off by a day in my 3/31 prediction: 3/30 is the only day in the year with the supreme cult number (of the Masons, inter alios) of 33 (11x3). It is, incidentally, also the date in 1981 when Bush buddy Hinkley tried to kill Ronnie Reagan -- as a Hinkley family member had dinner with Neal Bush -- whose marriage date was two or three years before on..., you guessed it, 3/30. I've got a feeling that Neal is heavy into the crime and assassinations end of the family biz, y'all...

OK, XO, Top, y'all can broadcast it as far and wide as you want -- all to support my prediction that we're headed for 911, part 2 on 9/27 or 11/11, depending on whether the Bones Boyz want to bother with the election (in which case they'll wait to see which King wins the contest) and make their move on 11/11. If they've brokered a deal, dependent on a crisis before the election (and I'm leaning that way in my prediction), then they'll go with 9/27. That date is fresher, anyhow, and has a lot more numerological subtlety in it.

POSTSCRIPT: Two days after this email extract, there was an "unexplainable" event involving a petrochemical explosion, with a 1,000-foot pillar of fire, at Moss Bluff, Texas. Moss Bluff, like Texas City, is around 30 miles from Houston, Texas. In Capt. May/Ghost Troop analysis, the significance of this event was to give the final signal for the follow-up to the foiled 3/30 event in Texas City. The date of the Moss Bluff "pillar of fire" was 9/18 (9/1+8=9, therefore 9/9) and 9+1+8 = 18; 1+8 = 9. These numbers are the signature of the embedded code. Any Mason will be able to identify the Illuminatist numerology. IMPORTANT: Just as 3/30, the date of the Texas City event, was 930 days from 911 (9+3=12, the number of completion or perfection to Masons), the 9/18 Moss Bluff event is 39 (93(0) reversed) from the target date of 9/27, the 1111th day in the 911 sequence. Texas City is approximately 30 miles southeast of Houston/Pasadena; Moss Bluff is approximately 30 miles northeast of Houston/Pasadena; the next strike, 9/27, will be in Houston/Pasadena. Just as the media struck itself in New York to be able to deny the 911 event, and Washington, D.C., struck itself to be able to do the same, George W. Bush will strike his adopted hometown to remove suspicion of the event from himself. I predict casualties in the tens to hundreds of thousands, and an immediate willingness of the US public to stop investigating Bush and follow his insane plan to initiate the Third World War.

What to do? Please forward this email to all, or print and mail it to people with whom you don't communicate via email. Remember, once the secret of the embedded code is out, the war conspiracy collapses. If they had the power to effect their plans without stealth, outright, they wouldn't be using the code in the first place!

Down with the traitor and tyrant Bush! Long live the United States of America!

Commander, Ghost Troop, 3/7

The Prison at Guatanamo: What the World Should Know

The new book Guantanamo: What The World Should Know is an interview between author/editor Ellen Ray, and Michael Ratner, an eloquent human rights attorney and president of the Center for Constitutional Rights. Mr Ratner and his colleagues at the CCR have the distinction of being the first Americans to mount a legal challenge of the Kafkaesque detention and interrogation facilities the Bush Administration uses at the US military base in Guantanamo, Cuba, to incarcerate suspects in the war on terror.

This is a tight, well-organized book. The discussion proceeds in logical order, and right away we learn that Ratner is eminently qualified to speak about the subject of human rights abuses. He has years of experience dealing with the issues of torture and indefinite detention, although his focus is usually in Third World dictatorships. His involvement with human rights issues in America, stemming from the hysteria following 9/11, began when the CCR decided to represent Muslim and Arab citizens whom Attorney General John Ashcroft had rounded up and detained without due process.

Having represented HIV-positive Haitian refugees detained at Guantanamo in the 1990s, Ratner also knows the history of what may rightfully be described as America’s Devil’s Island. Knowing the history helps to put the situation in context. As Ratner explains, even when he was representing the Haitians, the US government insisted that no court had jurisdiction over Guantanamo. "The United States wanted Guantanamo to be a law-free zone," he says. Evidently, this has always been the case. But Guantanamo’s special legal status, forged in the ambiguous language of the 1903 Platt Amendment to the Cuban Constitution, is especially well crafted to serve the US government’s duplicitous motives in the murky war on terror. Guantanamo is a place where the US government is totally unaccountable, although the US military is in total control. Suspected members of al Qaeda, captured in Afghanistan and Pakistan, may have some legal recourse in those countries. But once they land in Guantanamo, they disappear down a legal black hole; which is why some people facetiously refer to it as "an off-shore concentration camp."

Ratner’s personal experience and historical knowledge gave him cause for alarm when, in January 2002, the rampaging Bush Administration began packing the "dog-run-like cages" at Guantanamo’s infamous Camp X-Ray with alleged "enemy combatants." He saw the pictures of tough-looking bearded men, and read news reports quoting Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld saying that only the most dangerous, best-trained, vicious killers were being held at Guantanamo. But none of the detainees were allowed to have lawyers, and it wasn’t known, at the time, that among those being incarcerated were boys as young as eleven, and at least one old man in his nineties.

Having no one to represent, Ratner at first objected solely on principle. The Center for Constitutional Rights believes that even a suspected member of al Qaeda should not be detained without due process of law. Ratner and the CCR believe that everybody has the right of habeas corpus and legal representation as well as the universally recognized right not to be tortured. They also know that where human rights are denied, human rights abuses are being committed. Right away they suspected that Rumsfeld was lying, so Ratner and the Center assembled a team and waited for the opportunity to act. That happened almost immediately, when they were approached by a lawyer in Australia and asked to help defend David Hicks, an Australian citizen detained at Guantanamo. From that point onward, Ratner would get a firsthand look of the sadistic practices and horrendous conditions that define Guantanamo, and which are recounted in detail in the book.

Inside Guantanamo

Enemy combatants sent to Guantanamo were initially quartered at Camp X-Ray, a desolate place surrounded by razor wire and gun turrets. The cells where human beings are caged are covered on three sides with steel mess wire, and are exposed to the blazing Caribbean sun and hard rains. All-American boys and girls assigned as guards pass the cages twice every minute, not because the prisoners have any chance of escaping, but simply to torment them. To soften them up for interrogation.

Take note, readers: people require privacy in order to maintain their self-respect. Take away their privacy, while abusing their minds and bodies, and eventually you destroy their sense of personal identity. And then they become putty in your hands.

The purpose of Camp X-Ray, like all of Guantanamo’s detention facilities, is the slow, calculated murder of the spirit. It’s a place where people are subjected to unbearable, humiliating and degrading forms of abuse every minute of every day. They sleep on concrete floors, and are denied clothing, medical attention and food. Unless, of course, they cooperate. As Major General Geoffrey Miller, the camp commandant, once boasted, many detainees have cooperated during the climatic hours they spend in Guantanamo’s interrogation booths, which Ratner describes as "trailers, really."

Guantanamo is also a laboratory, where new methods of destroying the human spirit are constantly being tried. Thus, sometime in the middle of 2002, a number of prisoners were transferred from Camp X-Ray to Camp Delta, which is different in so far as it separates detainees according to their status. Those who cooperate are segregated from those who do not, and those who are deemed to be troublemakers get special attention in their own private quarters.

Guantanamo is further divided into Camp Echo is a separate facility for those facing trial by military commission. (Camp Echo is aptly name. It was built by Halliburton’s subsidiary, Kellogg Brown Root, which in an earlier lifetime built the detention facilities which replaced in the infamous Tiger Cages on Con Son Island, 90 miles off the Coast of South Vietnam). Camps Romeo and Tango consist of isolation cells, where naked Muslim men are, in scenes reminiscent of Abu Ghraib, gawked at by female American guards, as yet another form of spiritual assassination.

The purpose of continual softening up detainees for interrogation, and then interrogating them, is twofold. The first purpose is to coerce confessions that result in convictions. The second is to obtain information for use in the war on terror.

Convictions are preordained, but so far there is no verifiable evidence that any useful intelligence has ever been produced. However, in return for signing a false confession, or bearing false witness against another Muslim, or for turning into a double agent, the ultimate reward is a Big Mac.

Imagine a world where, after two years of privation and the most sophisticated physical and psychological torture techniques ever devised by cummings’ man-unkind, the ultimate reward is a Big Mac. You have to wonder, what kind of sick mind is capable of creating such a hellhole? The sick mind belongs, of course, to George W. Bush, war criminal extraordinaire.

L’etat, c’est moi

What Ellen Ray does through her well-chosen questions, and what Michael Ratner explains clearly, in layman’s terms, is why Bush and his accomplices in war crimes have established Guantanamo as a symbol of their omnipotence, and how their lawless and supremely arrogant actions have undermined America’s democratic institutions at home, and moral authority abroad. They tell us how and why we evolved from the rule of law to rule by executive fiat, and how this process made Guantanamo possible.

The authors include in the book’s Appendixes the full text of several documents that are critically important for understanding why and how Guantanamo occurred. The most important is Military Order No. 1. This is not a widely disseminated document, for very good reasons. Signed by Bush on 13 November 2001, it confirms that he used 9/11 as a pretext to proclaim a national emergency, which in turn enabled him to confer upon himself extraordinary war powers, without the consent of Congress or the Judiciary. Through Military Order No. 1, and other powers vested in him as commander-in-chief, Bush, in effect, has staged a military coup d’etat. He has taken America back to a time prior to the Constitution, when the military ruled the country.

Through Military Order No. 1, Bush has given himself the authority 1) to identify terrorists and "those who support them" and 2) to detain "individuals subject to this order" in horrid places like Guantanamo. People subject to this order need only have harbored people who threaten to harm our "citizens, national security, foreign policy, or economy." This applies to anyone Bush has a personal grudge against, like Saddam Hussein. Bush has only to write a note telling his deputies to get someone in order to condemn that someone to a life of endless persecution and/or death.

Military Order No. 1 also allows Bush to form "tribunals" or "commissions" to try alleged terrorists under military, not civilian law, despite the fact that terrorism is "not a violation of military law or the laws of war," as Ratner explains. The military tribunals have "exclusive jurisdiction," and individuals subject to Military Order No. 1 are denied due process not only in the US, but also in any foreign court or international tribunal.

Apart from any document or law, and in violation of treaties and the supreme law of the land, Bush has exempted himself and his deputies from any existing international laws of war, such as the Geneva Conventions. The reason for this is simple: Bush has been advised, for good reason, to protect himself and his henchmen from being tried as war criminals. Which they are.

"People Will Say Anything"

This is disturbing stuff that does not bode well for the future of America. But, as the dialogue between Ray and Ratner reveals, it just gets worse and worse.

Bush and his corporate puppet-masters have seized upon the penultimate point of Darwin’s Theory of Evolution, the survival of the fittest, and given it an evangelical, Masonic twist. By bestowing upon himself the powers of a military dictator, Bush has broadened into infinity the moat of secrecy between the fortress of government and the citizen rabble. Not only are the denizens of Guantanamo held in isolation from the world, many for crimes they did not commit, but we, the citizens of America, no longer have the right to examine what is being done to them in our name.

Not even the Red Cross can examine the interrogation centers.

As an attorney for several detainees, Ratner, however, has heard first hand accounts of what goes on inside Guantanamo, and what he describes "is like Dante’s ninth circle of hell."

Sleep derivation is a favorite form of "stress and duress," the designated euphemism for torture at Guantanamo. Old-fashioned beatings are routine. Shackling people to the floor of an interrogation room for hours and making them lie in their excrement is an easy and effective way of telling someone, "You’re not worth shit." (It also has the side of effect of making their tormentors hate them even more.)

Making people kneel for hours has the dual effect of causing Muslims pain when it’s time to pray. Then again, as we know from reading the newspapers and watching TV, defaming Islam is de rigueur in America nowadays.

Making detainees stand for hours in the hot sun is another favorite technique, which caused me chills, as the Japanese tortured my father in the same fashion in a camp in the Philippines in the Second World War. My father saw several tough Australian soldiers resort to suicide attempts at his prison camp, and at least forty suicide attempts in a six-month period have been documented at Guantanamo. Small wonder. Like at my father’s POW camp, the possibility that one will not survive, or ever be allowed to leave, is perhaps the cruelest torment of all.

Ah, but there’s more. Loudspeakers at one time continually blared out little Rumsfeld lies like, "Cooperate and you’ll go home." Sometimes the loudspeakers blared bigger lies, like, "We know who is telling the truth and who is lying and we can tell. Tell the truth."

This is the venerable "Eye of God" trick, which was used by the CIA as a facet of its Phoenix Program in Vietnam.

Take note again, dear reader: the Eye of God trick is being employed, incrementally, on you, too. As the Homeland Security color codes continually rise and fall, based on "chatter" about unconfirmed threats, and as the level of surveillance reaches ubiquitous proportions, we are all finding ourselves under spiritual assault.

Then there is the old medicine trick, which consists of denying medicine to prisoners unless the cooperate. This is another torture technique that has personal meaning to me. I remember interviewing Congressman Rob Simmons (R-CT), about his experiences as a CIA officer running an interrogation center in Vietnam in 1972. Yes, Simmons, now a member of the Armed Services Committee, used the same trick on detainees way back then. A counter-terror team or the secret police would drag in a guy with a gunshot wound, and Simmons would present him with the choice: cooperate and get medicine, or take your chances.

Simmons says that doesn’t amount to torture and (big surprise) the people running Guantanamo, even the CIA Doctor Menegles on there, agree.

Not everything at Guantanamo is derivative. Some torture techniques are innovative, and incredibly bizarre. Michael Ratner tells of about an interrogation room that displayed posters of Israelis who had apparently murdered Palestinian women. According to Ratner, the idea was to get Muslim detainees to believe that if they cooperated, they would be freed to return to the Middle East to kill Israelis.

What The Future Bodes

For me, it hurt at times to listen to Ray and Ratner’s interview. I’m sure many other readers will personally relate to different aspects of this timely and important book, too.

It was especially bad news to learn that there is there a Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Detainee Operations, a Mr. Paul Butler, who sits in the Pentagon and reviews cases. However, final judgments about the fate of any of Guantanamo’s lab rats are not made by Butler, or even some secret review board, but by a "designated civilian official (DCO)" appointed by, you guessed it, Bush. This DCO can hold a detainee indefinitely for any reason that is deemed "in the interest of the United States," a term which really means, in the political interests of Bush.

Ray and Ratner’s book raises some disturbing questions. For example: What’s to stop Bush from turning his star chambers and designated civilian officials on his political opponents, here, in America?

One might also ask: How long does a national emergency last, and how does one know, quantitatively, when it’s over?

It’s a fact that our government is waging psychological warfare against us. Is it paranoid to ask: Are mini-Guantanamo, political indoctrination camps for recalcitrant Americans looming on the horizon?

This book makes one thing painfully clear: we’re in big trouble if these new terms and instruments of government become part of our national dialogue, and not just an ominous conversation between Ellen Ray and Michael Ratner.

Reading this book made me angrier than ever before. I don’t want to live by Bush’s leave, as a lab rat in a corporate experiment in a military dictatorship, under the guise of what Michael Ratner calls a "metaphorical" war on terror. Maybe it’s time to new form a new government? One not modeled on the totalitarian corporate paradigm, and certainly not a government where a mentally unstable chief executive has the power to torture, murder, invade foreign countries under false pretenses, dispense with due process, and otherwise break the supreme law of the land. Maybe it’s time to change our current form of government to ensure that the people, not the government, control their fate?

The book raises one other matter for consideration. Approximately 2,800 soldiers and CIA interrogators have already served as de facto torturers at Guantanamo, which houses only a few hundred prisoners. The total number of Americans who have served there is certainly larger, as soldiers and spooks are rotated in and out. Many others are being trained as torturers in military indoctrination courses. Already thousands of Americans at Guantanamo, and in other God-forsaken places around the world, have whole-heartedly embraced the role of torturer. Like those Abu Ghraib, they enjoy it.

What does this mean for America, as these torturers return home? Is it our patriotic duty to validate their service, and adopt their values? Or shall the privates, corporals and sergeants be held responsible for the war crimes they committed, while following the orders of policy makers like Bush? Will there be a prison big enough to hold all the war criminals America is producing at places like Guantanamo?

Depleted uranium: Dirty bombs, dirty missiles, dirty bullets

A death sentence here and abroad

by Leuren Moret

Vietnam was a chemical war for oil, permanently contaminating large regions and countries downriver with Agent Orange, and environmentally the most devastating war in world history. But since 1991, the U.S. has staged four nuclear wars using depleted uranium weaponry, which, like Agent Orange, meets the U.S. government definition of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Vast regions in the Middle East and Central Asia have been permanently contaminated with radiation.

And what about our soldiers? Terry Jemison of the Department of Veterans Affairs reported this week to the American Free Press that “Gulf-era veterans” now on medical disability since 1991 number 518,739, with only 7,035 reported wounded in Iraq in that same 14-year period.

This week the American Free Press dropped a “dirty bomb” on the Pentagon by reporting that eight out of 20 men who served in one unit in the 2003 U.S. military offensive in Iraq now have malignancies. That means that 40 percent of the soldiers in that unit have developed malignancies in just 16 months.

Since these soldiers were exposed to vaccines and depleted uranium (DU) only, this is strong evidence for researchers and scientists working on this issue, that DU is the definitive cause of Gulf War Syndrome. Vaccines are not known to cause cancer. One of the first published researchers on Gulf War Syndrome, who also served in 1991 in Iraq, Dr. Andras Korényi-Both, is in agreement with Barbara Goodno from the Department of Defense’s Deployment Health Support Directorate, that in this war soldiers were not exposed to chemicals, pesticides, bioagents or other suspect causes this time to confuse the issue.

This powerful new evidence is blowing holes in the cover-up perpetrated by the Pentagon and three presidential administrations ever since DU was first used in 1991 in the Persian Gulf War. Fourteen years after the introduction of DU on the battlefield in 1991, the long-term effects have revealed that DU is a death sentence and very nasty stuff.

Scientists studying the biological effects of uranium in the 1960s reported that it targets the DNA. Marion Fulk, a nuclear physical chemist retired from the Livermore Nuclear Weapons Lab and formerly involved with the Manhattan Project, interprets the new and rapid malignancies in soldiers from the 2003 war as “spectacular … and a matter of concern.”

This evidence shows that of the three effects which DU has on biological systems - radiation, chemical and particulate – the particulate effect from nano-size particles is the most dominant one immediately after exposure and targets the Master Code in the DNA. This is bad news, but it explains why DU causes a myriad of diseases which are difficult to define.

In simple words, DU “trashes the body.” When asked if the main purpose for using it was for destroying things and killing people, Fulk was more specific: “I would say that it is the perfect weapon for killing lots of people.”

Soldiers developing malignancies so quickly since 2003 can be expected to develop multiple cancers from independent causes. This phenomenon has been reported by doctors in hospitals treating civilians following NATO bombing with DU in Yugoslavia in 1998-1999 and the U.S. military invasion of Iraq using DU for the first time in 1991. Medical experts report that this phenomenon of multiple malignancies from unrelated causes has been unknown until now and is a new syndrome associated with internal DU exposure.

Just 467 U.S. personnel were wounded in the three-week Persian Gulf War in 1990-1991. Out of 580,400 soldiers who served in Gulf War I, 11,000 are dead, and by 2000 there were 325,000 on permanent medical disability. This astounding number of disabled vets means that a decade later, 56 percent of those soldiers who served now have medical problems.

The number of disabled vets reported up to 2000 has been increasing by 43,000 every year. Brad Flohr of the Department of Veterans Affairs told American Free Press that he believes there are more disabled vets now than even after World War II.

They brought it home

Not only were soldiers exposed to DU on and off the battlefields, but they brought it home. DU in the semen of soldiers internally contaminated their wives, partners and girlfriends. Tragically, some women in their 20s and 30s who were sexual partners of exposed soldiers developed endometriosis and were forced to have hysterectomies because of health problems.

In a group of 251 soldiers from a study group in Mississippi who had all had normal babies before the Gulf War, 67 percent of their post-war babies were born with severe birth defects. They were born with missing legs, arms, organs or eyes or had immune system and blood diseases. In some veterans’ families now, the only normal or healthy members of the family are the children born before the war.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has stated that they do not keep records of birth defects occurring in families of veterans.

How did they hide it?

Before a new weapons system can be used, it must be fully tested. The blueprint for depleted uranium weapons is a 1943 declassified document from the Manhattan Project.

Harvard President and physicist James B. Conant, who developed poison gas in World War I, was brought into the Manhattan Project by the father of presidential candidate John Kerry. Kerry’s father served at a high level in the Manhattan Project and was a CIA agent.

Conant was chair of the S-1 Poison Gas Committee, which recommended developing poison gas weapons from the radioactive trash of the atomic bomb project in World War II. At that time, it was known that radioactive materials dispersed in bombs from the air, from land vehicles or on the battlefield produced very fine radioactive dust which would penetrate all protective clothing, any gas mask or filter or the skin. By contaminating the lungs and blood, it could kill or cause illness very quickly.

They also recommended it as a permanent terrain contaminant, which could be used to destroy populations by contaminating water supplies and agricultural land with the radioactive dust.

The first DU weapons system was developed for the Navy in 1968, and DU weapons were given to and used by Israel in 1973 under U.S. supervision in the Yom Kippur war against the Arabs.

The Phalanx weapons system, using DU, was tested on the USS Bigelow out of Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in 1977, and DU weapons have been sold by the U.S. to 29 countries.

Military research report summaries detail the testing of DU from 1974-1999 at military testing grounds, bombing and gunnery ranges and at civilian labs under contract. Today 42 states are contaminated with DU from manufacture, testing and deployment.

Women living around these facilities have reported increases in endometriosis, birth defects in babies, leukemia in children and cancers and other diseases in adults. Thousands of tons of DU weapons tested for decades by the Navy on four bombing and gunnery ranges around Fallon, Nevada, is no doubt the cause of the fastest growing leukemia cluster in the U.S. over the past decade. The military denies that DU is the cause.

The medical profession has been active in the cover-up - just as they were in hiding the effects from the American public - of low level radiation from atmospheric testing and nuclear power plants. A medical doctor in Northern California reported being trained by the Pentagon with other doctors, months before the 2003 war started, to diagnose and treat soldiers returning from the 2003 war for mental problems only.

Medical professionals in hospitals and facilities treating returning soldiers were threatened with $10,000 fines if they talked about the soldiers or their medical problems. They were also threatened with jail.

Reporters have also been prevented access to more than 14,000 medically evacuated soldiers flown nightly since the 2003 war in C-150s from Germany who are brought to Walter Reed Hospital near Washington, D.C.

Dr. Robert Gould, former president of the Bay Area chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR), has contacted three medical doctors since February 2004, after I had been invited to speak about DU. Dr. Katharine Thomasson, president of the Oregon chapter of the PSR, informed me that Dr. Gould had contacted her and tried to convince her to cancel her invitation for me to speak about DU at Portland State University on April 12. Although I was able to do a presentation, Dr. Thomasson told me I could only talk about DU in Oregon “and nothing overseas … nothing political.”

Dr. Gould also contacted and discouraged Dr. Ross Wilcox in Toronto, Canada, from inviting me to speak to Physicians for Global Survival (PGS), the Canadian equivalent of PSR, several months later. When that didn’t work, he contacted Dr. Allan Connoly, the Canadian national president of PGS, who was able to cancel my invitation and nearly succeeded in preventing Dr. Wilcox, his own member, from showing photos and presenting details on civilians suffering from DU exposure and cancer provided to him by doctors in southern Iraq.

Dr. Janette Sherman, a former and long-standing member of PSR, reported that she finally quit some time after being invited to lunch by a new PSR executive administrator. After the woman had pumped Dr. Sherman for information all through lunch about her position on key issues, the woman informed Dr. Sherman that her last job had been with the CIA.

How was the truth about DU hidden from military personnel serving in successive DU wars? Before his tragic death, Sen. Paul Wellstone informed Joyce Riley, R.N., B.S.N., executive director of the American Gulf War Veterans Association, that 95 percent of Gulf War veterans had been recycled out of the military by 1995. Any of those continuing in military service were isolated from each other, preventing critical information being transferred to new troops. The “next DU war” had already been planned, and those planning it wanted “no skunk at the garden party.”

The US has a dirty (DU) little (CIA) secret

A new book just published at the American Free Press by Michael Collins Piper, “The High Priests of War: The Secret History of How America’s Neo-Conservative Trotskyites Came to Power and Orchestrated the War Against Iraq as the First Step in Their Drive for Global Empire,” details the early plans for a war against the Arab world by Henry Kissinger and the neo-cons in the late 1960s and early 1970s. That just happens to coincide with getting the DU “show on the road” and the oil crisis in the Middle East, which caused concern not only to President Nixon. The British had been plotting and scheming for control of the oil in Iraq for decades since first using poison gas on the Iraqis and Kurds in 1912.

The book details the creation of the neo-cons by their “godfather” and Trotsky lover Irving Kristol, who pushed for a “war against terrorism” long before 9/11 and was lavishly funded for years by the CIA. His son, William Kristol, is one of the most influential men in the United States.

Both are public relations men for the Israeli lobby’s neo-conservative network, with strong ties to Rupert Murdoch. Kissinger also has ties to this network and the Carlyle Group, who, one could say, have facilitated these omnicidal wars beginning from the time former President Bush took office. It would be easy to say that we are recycling World Wars I and II, with the same faces.

When I asked Vietnam Special Ops Green Beret Capt. John McCarthy, who could have devised this omnicidal plan to use DU to destroy the genetic code and genetic future of large populations of Arabs and Moslems in the Middle East and Central Asia - just coincidentally the areas where most of the world’s oil deposits are located - he replied: “It has all the handprints of Henry Kissinger.”

In Zbignew Brzezinski’s book “The Grand Chessboard: American Primacy and Its Geostrategic Imperatives,” the map of the Eurasian chessboard includes four regions strategic to U.S. foreign policy. The “South” region corresponds precisely to the regions now contaminated permanently with radiation from U.S. bombs, missiles and bullets made with thousands of tons of DU.

A Japanese professor, Dr. K. Yagasaki, has calculated that 800 tons of DU is the atomicity equivalent of 83,000 Nagasaki bombs. The U.S. has used more DU since 1991 than the atomicity equivalent of 400,000 Nagasaki bombs. Four nuclear wars indeed, and 10 times the amount of radiation released into the atmosphere from atmospheric testing!

No wonder our soldiers, their families and the people of the Middle East, Yugoslavia and Central Asia are sick. But as Henry Kissinger said after Vietnam when our soldiers came home ill from Agent Orange, “Military men are just dumb stupid animals to be used for foreign policy.”

Unfortunately, more and more of those soldiers are men and women with brown skin. And unfortunately, the DU radioactive dust will be carried around the world and deposited in our environments just as the “smog of war” from the 1991 Gulf War was found in deposits in South America, the Himalayas and Hawaii.

In June 2003, the World Health Organization announced in a press release that global cancer rates will increase 50 percent by 2020. What else do they know that they aren’t telling us? I know that depleted uranium is a death sentence … for all of us. We will all die in silent ways.

High Uranium Levels Found in Troops and Civilians
Civilian populations in Afghanistan and Iraq and occupying troops have been contaminated with astounding levels of radioactive depleted and non-depleted uranium as a result of post-9/11 United States’ use of tons of uranium munitions. Researchers say surrounding countries are bound to feel the effects as well. In 2003 scientists from the Uranium Medical Research Center (UMRC) studied urine samples of Afghan civilians and found that 100% of the samples taken had levels of non-depleted uranium (NDU) 400% to 2000% higher than normal levels. The UMRC research team studied six sites, two in Kabul and others in the Jalalabad area. The civilians were tested four months after the attacks in Afghanistan by the United States and its allies. NDU is more radioactive than depleted uranium (DU), which itself is charged with causing many cancers and severe birth defects in the Iraqi population–especially children–over the past ten years. Four million pounds of radioactive uranium was dropped on Iraq in 2003 alone. CLIP

"Cultivated leisure is the aim of man."

- Oscar Wilde, Irish genius.

DETROIT -- George W. Bush is right on target with the leisure part, but that cultivated stuff doesn't interest him. America's worst president ever also has the distinction of being the most rested. He typically takes more time off in the month of August than the vast majority of American workers do for the entire year.

When Bush speaks to the Republican Convention he'll be tanned and relaxed, fresh from another nine-day stay at his Rancho Wacko in Crawford, Texas. This is his 34th paid vacation in his three-and-a-half years in office.

Bush, who disdains most things European, goes on holidays at a rate that would make a French nobleman blush. The summer numbers have not yet been tallied -- he will, of course, need more rest after his grueling convention duties -- but the vacation stats he's already chalked up are staggering.

CBS News calculated that, through April 2004, Bush had spent all or part of 535 days of his presidency at vacation spots. That's 42.4 percent of his time in office. While most Americans crave a week or even a day off, our leader in leisure goofs off for weeks at a time.

I don't buy that "working vacation" crap for one minute. He puts on his blue working shirt and parades around the ranch for a few photo ops with his minions in mufti -- Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Condi Rice -- in tow. It's all for show. He spends little time on matters of state.

The president enjoys jogging in the oppressive heat of the Texas desert, playing golf, fishing, shooting birds, chopping wood, clearing brush, hanging out with his dog and spending endless hours playing video games and watching sports on the tube. He reads little, if at all. And, as we learned from his 2001 summer hiatus, he even ignores written material vital for our national security.

On Aug. 6, 2001, Bush received an intelligence briefing paper entitled "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in the U.S." Did he call for a National Security Council meeting? No. Did he order the military and his Cabinet to respond to the warning? No. Did he do anything? No. We do know the very next day the commander in chief went to the Ridgewood Country Club in Waco, Texas, to play a round of golf.

We also know from congressional Intelligence Committee reports that the CIA knew terrorists were planning to use airplanes as weapons, and senior government officials were made aware in a July 2001 brief that bin Laden "will launch a significant terrorist attack against U.S. and/or Israeli interest in the coming weeks. The attack will be spectacular and designed to inflict mass casualties against U.S. facilities or interest. Attack preparations have been made. Attack will occur with little or no warning."

This spring, George W. took a work break from his vacations and chatted with the 9/11 Commission about those briefings. While sitting on Lord Halliburton's comfy lap, he said he considered the warnings of bin Laden's plans "historical information." I'll bet he never bothered reading the reports. He didn't want to be late for tee time.

Also in late August 2001, CIA Director George Tenet was informed that the FBI had nabbed Zacarias Moussaoui, a known Islamic jihadist who had been taking lessons on how to fly a 747. During her performance -- which should have been nominated for an Oscar -- before the 9/11 Commission, Condoleezza Rice made a dramatic speech about how Tenet briefed the president nearly every day, even when George W. was hanging out at the ranch.

But Tenet had a different story. He testified that, during that entire month, he did not have a single conversation with the president. Tenet too was "on leave."

Like a baron in pre-Revolutionary France, Bush surveys his estate and isolates himself from the unwashed masses that work every day and cherish rare days of rest. The elitist Bush regime is systematically exploiting overworked, vacation-starved Americans.

George W. is the rare American who gets too much vacation, but he has made leisure respectable. What he should be saying at the Republican Convention is that Americans need more time off, and then he should unveil his new plan for trickle-down vacations.

But in George Bush's America, the fruits of labor provide the very few with pampered privileges and leave out the rest. His Labor Department just issued new rules that will make it possible for employers to deny overtime pay to as many as 6 million American workers. People will work longer hours for less money, and be able to afford fewer vacations.

Deborah Figart, co-editor of the book "Working Time," told the Institute for Public Accuracy that "part of the problem is that U.S. managers are encouraged to overwork people because of the fixed costs associated with each employee, like health care insurance and unemployment insurance." Meanwhile, Figart adds, "low income people work overtime so they can pay their bills."

During the Bush presidency, 9 million working Americans have had their health insurance taken away as their employers cannot or refuse to pay the premiums. These workers must now pay all their health care insurance out of their own pockets or join the growing ranks of the uninsured.

In a national disgrace, a record 45 million Americans now are without health insurance, and I'm sure Bush didn't spend even two minutes of his latest vacation time trying to do something about that festering problem.

Vacations are out of the question for the 4.3 million people who, under the Bush regime, have fallen below the poverty line of $18,660 for a family of four. And another statistic you won't hear mentioned at the Republican Convention is median family income. It was $44,853 in 2000 and it's plunged $1,535 during the first three years of the Bush dark ages.

While Europeans don't have our income levels, the wealth distribution there means significantly less poverty -- especially among children -- and studies show they are much more satisfied with their lives than are Americans.

Europeans tend to "work to live" while we "live to work." The Economic Policy Institute analyzed data from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) published in a forthcoming book, "The State of Working America 2004/2005." The comparison of the United States and 19 other countries on time off and productivity shatters some old myths.

The average American worker put in 1,815 hours in 2002, 59 more days than the average worker in the Netherlands. All that time off didn't hurt, but rather helped, productivity. The study finds "the Netherlands' hourly productivity reached 106 percent of the U.S. rate, while working fewer hours and keeping the poverty, as measured by the OECD, to less than half that of the U.S."

The unprecedented findings reveal that, with fewer working hours and lower poverty rates, Norway has 131 percent of U.S. productivity levels.

The fun-loving Irish, Italians and, yes, even French workers are topping the productivity of Americans.

Alan Greenspan has a dire warning that Social Security and Medicare benefits for the Baby Boom generation may have to be scaled back, but that heightened productivity growth of workers "offers the greatest potential" for allowing the nation to support the aging population. As Europe shows us, let's give workers more time off and improve productivity at the same time.

Greenspan finally admits the record Bush deficits have reduced national savings rates and we're forced to borrow more money from abroad. As the deficits balloon, that creates more trouble for Social Security, which might require a gradual delay in retirement ages.

If we're forced to work longer, why not have more time off?

Here's why. George W. Bush wants to protect his business and corporate sponsors who want nothing to do with shorter hours and more vacations for workers.

Besides, our rested leader fears vacations give people more time to relax, read, reflect and reason, and that means they're more likely to understand what a fraud and disaster his presidency is.

The most terrifying sight in my life was seeing two uniformed people walking up to my house. One was a man and the other was a woman. All I thought about was my son who was in Iraq. I knew something was wrong, horribly wrong. My legs turned to rubberized fear. I fell down to the floor. I cried uncontrollably, sobbing and sobbing. And then the doorbell rang. My husband answered the door and was told. "Your son is dead."

As a mother, I know my son died in Iraq for Bush. My son's name was Sgt. Michael S.. He was only nineteen. He would have been 20 a week after he was blown up. He made Sgt. because it was his second duty to Iraq. We were proud of him getting such a high rank so fast. But Mickey was a natural leader. Those under him respected him and were deeply saddened by his death. In Mickey's first duty, he received a purple heart for a wound to his left arm. After that healed, he was immediately sent back to Iraq because of the severe shortage of US troops there.

I suppose I should be able to sleep well knowing that I will have oil and gas for my car. After all, that is why my son was murdered by Bush. Just knowing that I will be able to drive wherever I want to is worth the loss of my son. And I can sleep well knowing that the Halliburtons will be making billions off of my son, and other sons and daughters that Bush murders.

I know that Bush will never ever visit my son's grave to pay respect. Nor will anyone in Bush's cabinet. Nor will any of the CEOs from republican-owned US corporations that will be making billions of dollars off of the death of my son. The CEO of Halliburton will never visit my son's gravesite. That would mean he would have to leave one of his air conditioned mansions that are paid for with the blood from our troops. And our troops are nothing but low-paid mercenaries protecting Halliburton and other republican companies in Iraq.

Michael Moore's Patriot Act

How a blue-collar screw-up became the White House's nightmare

By MARK BINELLI - Rolling Stone

Back in the mid-eighties, a filmmaker named Kevin Rafferty decided he wanted to include footage from a Ku Klux Klan rally in his documentary about white supremacists. A colleague suggested Rafferty give Michael Moore a call. The editor of a progressive weekly newspaper in his hometown of Flint, Michigan, Moore regularly embarrassed neo-Nazis and other right-wingers on his local radio show, so he was able to set up a lunch date with the grand wizard of the Klan and secure an invitation to a weekend rally. There would be Klan weddings, cross burnings, lectures. Even a barbecue! But when Rafferty's crew arrived from New York, they got cold feet. "They didn't want to be on camera, because they thought the Klan guys might come after them," Moore recalls today. "So I said, 'I'll do it. I'm not afraid to be on camera.' "

As they say in the business, the kid was a natural. Early in the film, Moore tells a tan, attractive blonde wearing an SS armband, jackboots and a stylish blue neck scarf, "You don't look like a typical Nazi."

Flattered, the woman giggles sweetly.

"You could be on a Coppertone commercial," Moore continues.

The woman beams. Then, though Moore has not asked, she says softly, "I'm not just against Jewish people. It's also blacks."

Working on Blood in the Face inspired Moore to make his own documentary. A year later, before he began Roger and Me, Moore called on Rafferty for a tutorial. Rafferty taught Moore how to use a camera and helped to shoot and edit the film. Moore subsequently discovered not only that Rafferty had friends in high places but that the phrase "friends in high places" was a gross understatement: Rafferty's uncle is George Herbert Walker Bush.

There's a scene in Fahrenheit 9/11 where George W. Bush, during an early campaign event, spots Moore in the crowd and shouts, "Why don't you go find real work?" "Right before that line, he was going, 'Heyyy, Mike,' " Moore says, accentuating his Dubya impression with a wink and a stagy finger-point. "Kevin's his cousin. They had a screening of Roger and Me at Camp David." Moore chuckles, then continues, deadpan, "I'm grateful to any family that helped me become a filmmaker. I can never forget that."

Unless you're the democratic candidate for president, you have probably formed an opinion about, and perhaps even seen, Fahrenheit 9/11. (John Kerry has repeatedly insisted that he has no plans to see Moore's film, though it would seem his speech writers have seen it: A line about the Saudi royal family in Kerry's acceptance speech at the Democratic convention drew huge applause, and, more recently, he's been referencing Bush's white-knuckled, seven-minute reading of "The Pet Goat" on the morning of September 11th.)

The movie's success -- it had grossed $115 million at press time, making it the most profitable documentary ever -- has made Moore a real-life summer action hero for the left. Who needs Bruce Willis running from a fireball when you can watch a fat guy in jeans and a Michigan State Spartans cap taking on an entire Republican administration? Meanwhile, on the right, Fahrenheit 9/11 has spawned a mini cottage industry of anti-Moore propaganda, including the best-selling book Michael Moore Is a Big Fat Stupid White Man, co-written by an attorney who represented the National Rifle Association. "I'm honored," Moore says. "To be the object of so much venom from all the wrong people, you get the sense that you might be doing something right."

Doing what's right, for Moore, at the moment, means one thing: unseating George W. Bush. With Fahrenheit 9/11, Moore is not simply promoting a movie. He's campaigning against a sitting president. Moore turned down an offer to do a one-man show on Broadway so he could focus on the election. He plans to send film crews to Florida in November in case there's a repeat of the 2000 voting debacle. And though Fahrenheit 9/11 is the odds-on favorite for a Best Documentary Oscar, Moore is seriously considering not submitting the film for nomination so he could instead broadcast it on PBS, cable or even a network on November 1st. (Academy rules regulate as to when a nominated film can be shown on television.) Critics would certainly call the above gesture a publicity stunt. Not that Moore would disagree. He has been publicizing the film nonstop since its release, hoping to sway as many potential voters as possible.

"What I need is sleep," Moore says. "I've had no time off since Stupid White Men came out in February 2002. But we're in a precarious time. If you were in the French Resistance, would you say, 'Sorry, I need a vacation in the South of France?' "

The previous quote is a prime example of Moore as rhetorical ninja. He did not come right out and say, "George W. Bush is a Nazi." He, in fact, delivered the "vacation" part of the quote in a jokey Pepe Le Pew accent. Such tactics infuriate Moore's enemies, along with some allies. Others simply allow themselves to be vicariously thrilled.

"People who criticize him for not being a traditional documentary filmmaker are missing the point," says New York Times cultural columnist Frank Rich. "He's not trying to be the New York Times. He's an entertainer and a provocateur."

At the moment, Moore is behind the wheel of his red Chrysler minivan, giving me a tour of Davison, the little town just outside Flint where he spent his childhood. He and his wife/producer, Kathleen Glynn, a fellow Flint native, moved back to the area two years ago when their daughter started college. They still have a Manhattan apartment but now return to New York largely for work. In Davison, we drive past rolling farmland, a quaint Main Street and Moore's favorite doughnut shop.

"If you spent a day with me here," Moore tells me later, after stopping to chat with a rather portly former neighbor, "you'd see I'm the thinnest fucking guy in town!" Moore looses another hoarse cackle. Though his critics like to paint a portrait of him as a ranting lunatic, and though Moore himself can be hectoring and sanctimonious in his films, in person he's jolly in the way only men of a certain girth can be jolly, his very size screaming bon vivant.

Oddly enough, Fahrenheit 9/11 may be Moore's least provocative film. The suggestion that corporations have as great a responsibility to their employees as to their shareholders, as Moore claims in Roger and Me and The Big One, or that American society is driven by a self- destructive cycle of fear and consumption, as he insists in Bowling for Columbine, is far more radical than the central thrust of Fahrenheit 9/11. Pointing out that our Middle East policy is steered by monied interests, that the Iraq war has been a disaster and that Bush is a moron is hardly shocking. What has resonated in the film are images that most Americans never got to see in the mainstream media, whether it's Bush reading "The Pet Goat" or slick Marine recruiters targeting underclass kids in Flint or violent footage driving home the cost of war on both sides of the conflict.

"What you hear most if you're standing in the lobby, listening to people, is, 'I don't remember seeing Bush sitting there for seven minutes,' " Moore says. "That's what's shocking to people. People are like, 'Shouldn't I be seeing this stuff on TV for free? Why is a guy in a baseball cap with a high school education telling me this?' "

Carlos Santana: 'Not shucking and jiving, slipping and sliding'

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Carlos Santana speaks about the world like a benevolent visitor from outside.

His views may be romantic and idealistic, but the guitarist is sincere. He was honored as the Latin Grammys person of the year Monday for his dedication to education, the fight against AIDS and other social endeavors.

Santana, who won nine Grammys for his 1999 album "Supernatural," talked to The Associated Press about his political views, his upcoming CD and how to absorb accolades without arrogance.

Q: How do you endure a night of praise like being named Latin Grammy person of the year without letting it go to your head?

A: I've been repeating for a long time that I am a beam of light that comes from the mind of God. That allows me, the more I say it, to grasp that I'm more than Mexican, or a human being. I am more than American or all the labels that we put on each other on this planet. Since I can definitely say that, like you, I am a beam of light that comes from the mind of God, then I don't have to squirm or interrupt people when they give me a compliment. I can say, "Thank you so much. And I'm very happy that my presence can bring joy into your life."

Q: You worked for free in 2003, donating the $2 million in profits from the "Shaman" album tour to combat AIDS in Africa. What motivates your charity work?

A: I'm very grateful that I'm in a position to be of service and give back. The people who I adore the most are Doctors Without Borders and (Nobel Peace Prize winner) Mr. Desmond Tutu, people who just roll up their sleeves, they feed, heal or bury. They don't have offices and all these expensive cars. Whatever money you give them, it goes straight to medicine.

Q: Your Web site had a link encouraging people to vote. How do you feel about the American presidential race?

A: I don't really feel too good about asking anyone to vote at this time because I basically don't have faith in either one of the two parties. I would like it better if we had a woman president, seven of them, instead of one. ... American Indian, Mexican, Irish, African-American. We need seven women to really represent the United States more from an integrity perspective.

Q: What are your thoughts on world events, like the war in Iraq?

A: Peace has never come from dropping bombs. Real peace comes from enlightenment and educating people to behave more in a divine matter. I do envision a world where water, electricity, food and education would be for free in the next 25 years for everyone on this planet. That's the beginning of dismantling fear, anger and politics and religion. The real evil in this world is politics and religion. Spirituality is the antidote because it is free.

Q: Do you feel cynical about the state of America?

A: I think American people are beautiful people, I think our government is not by the people, for the people and all that kind of stuff. It's a group of corporations ... who want to tell you how much insurance to buy for the things that they make you afraid of. I pay my taxes, I obey the law, but that's not who I'm accountable to. I'm accountable to a higher force. Therefore, people honor me -- like this (Latin Grammy) award -- because I'm not shucking and jiving, slipping and sliding ...

Q: Back to your music then, why did you release the 10-track CD "Food For Thought" through the Baja Fresh Mexican Grill restaurants?

A: Helping children. Baja was committed to helping children. (The profits for that disc went toward Santana's Milagro Foundation, which provides health and education to impoverished youth.)

Q: How far along are you on your next album?

A: I'm working on seven albums. I'm producing an album for Mr. Buddy Guy. I'm also working on the new Santana album, which I will turn into my friend and brother Mr. Clive Davis. There's a possibility of new people contributing, like Los Lonely Boys, possibly Sting, maybe Sean Paul ... I have an instrumental album that I'm due to release sometime. It's like seven to 10 things that I'm working on, but I'm not confused or scattered.
