Action Focus #1

Birthing a Brave New World

Hello!

I would like to introduce you to a new complement to the Meditation Focuses — the Action Focuses — as a way to assist you in finding opportunities to translate into some form of social activism the spiritual awakening accomplished through our regular meditations or any other spiritual activities. This way, more of what transpires when we are joined together in meditation for the Highest Good of all may find an outlet to become manifested in the outer world, and thus gradually make more and more people aware of just Who they are, and of the power we have collectively to positively influence the evolution of humanity and the emergence of a keener awareness of the sanctity of all Life on Earth.

Such Action Focuses will be featured from time to time as such activities and initiatives that may be conducive to higher awareness in action come to my attention. You are also welcomed to submit for consideration possible Action Focus initiatives that may fit this general category.

The first one suggested to your attention is named "Birthing a Brave New World" and is being proposed by Joyce A. Kovelman in an introductory letter below. I highly recommend this fledging initiative which I feel has the potential to become, over time, a very useful tool for Spirit to help us all manifest a new era of Light, Peace and Love on Earth.

Birthing a Brave New World

"Your mission is to discover who you are in the fullness of your Being. I am inviting you to discover the many variations, essences and flavors of consciousness needed to birth a brave new world of endless possibilities and opportunities for all of Earth's inhabitants. All of Earth's children, including humankind, can only survive on a planet that supports, nurtures and sustains life as it presently exists. Humanity can no longer pollute air, land and sea, nor stand by and watch as countless species become extinct. We must learn how to stop the further desecration of Earth's biosphere upon which we depend, and help prevent the escalating consequences of global warming, erosion of soil, deforestation, advancing deserts, and the floods, hurricanes, drought and severe disasters such irresponsible choices have called forth. Essentially, I am inviting you to join with Earth herself, to co-create a more harmonious, compassionate, sustainable and peaceful world for humanity to dwell upon. Please share your visions, dreams, hopes and ideas with integrity, passion and gusto. My dream is to help all of us survive, thrive, grow, evolve, and soar with the Eagles. Let us make it so!"

Dear Friends,

Last October, 2006, I wrote a clarion call, inviting everyone’s help in “Birthing a Brave New World” which I recommend you review at http://www.earthrainbownetwork.com/BirthingWorld.htm. My invitation appeared in one of Jean Hudon’s compilations, and many of you contacted me to share your interest and enthusiasm for this endeavor to generate vision, action and service to heal our beautiful blue and white planet as well as ourselves, families and communities. We rapidly gained momentum and interest, and Jean posted the many responses from interested readers on his website, which you can review at http://www.earthrainbownetwork.com/Archives2006/FeedbacksJoyce.htm.

When Jean asked me what I intended to offer to the people who were to reply to my call, I replied:

"I see my article as a Call to Action - and as yours is my first response - I feel we can each do something daily or weekly, big or small - it adds up. We each know within what we can do and it is not helpful for me to explicitly tell other Light Workers how to proceed. What I feel is unfolding is the need for change through action - not just ideas and words (of course, with integrity) and we need to begin. So my Herald's call is to start a supporting circle of those who will begin to not only make the inner changes, but also start to act change and transformation out in the world. I am open to what will unfold with "A committed, dedicated Community of Light Workers who will respond in the Now." The Light Workers are ready, and all they need is a spark to light the way!"

Now I'm ready to once again invite all who resonate with my "Clarion Call to Birth a Brave New World” and asking anyone interested to join with me in forming a core group of dedicated individuals that will work together to realize the promise of this vision. It will take many of us to birth a compassionate, caring, sensitive and spiritually realized world, and so everyone will be warmly welcomed to contribute one way or another.

If you are called to this project, as am I, please contact me at mailto:ASOUL1@aol.com>ASOUL1@aol.com and let us build on the initial momentum. Let us bestow peace, service, action and healing upon all of Existence.

Blessings and Light,

Joyce A. Kovelman

Here is the tentative Mission statement I propose to define the main focus of this new initiative:

Mission Statement

We are dedicated to creating, generating, inspiring, motivating, encouraging, developing, supporting and sustaining compassionate service and action for the healing of our planetary home, ourselves, our families, our communities -- indeed for all of existence. We recognize that all is interconnected and interdependent; and that the well-being of all sentient life depends upon the health of our planetary home. We wish to connect passionate volunteers with both new and existing organizations in collaborative service and action, recognizing that not everyone is an initiator, and that all projects and endeavors need volunteers and compassionate service. Through dedicated service and action, we will realize the "Birthing a Brave New World" clarion call in its many flavors and forms. Our core mission is to assist the emergence of a new wave of consciousness, as well as to help Love and Peace to flourish and prevail in everyone's heart and upon the entire planet.

Here are the things our core group would need to do to start the ball rolling:

1. First sponsored action/service: is to give Birth to "Birthing a Brave New World." Note: I already own the domain name: http://www.birthingabravenewworld.org

2. A core group of 5-8 dedicated, committed and passionate individuals who wish to help realize the promise and mission of "Birthing a Brave New World."

3. Creation of a Web site and links, guest book, sign-in/log-in system, etc. along with posted guidelines to carry our mission and message out into the world. Can anyone or any group help to create this website? Note: A related blog has already been created at http://www.birthingabravenewworld.blogspot.com/ and is awaiting contribution from others.

4. Apply for 501(c) 3, not-for-profit status, allowing us to raise funds and to receive donations to carry forth mission, service and action to assist in the Birthing of a Brave New World. Are there any attorneys who can lend pro-bono assistance to this endeavor as part of "Birthing a Brave New World?"

5. 2-3 Teleconferences to connect those who wish to participate in the core group and realize
http://www.birthingabravenewworld.org/

Once a core group of 5-8 people volunteers is willing to serve and to help "Birth a Brave New World" into being, we can move forward and help generate and sustain committed action/service in many forms and flavors.

Here are the guidelines I propose to follow within the core group as we communicate through email to help cocreate and manifest a brave new world through whatever Spirit will guide us to accomplish:

1. We will strive to stay on topic, avoid chit-chat and interpersonal arguing and refrain from self-promotion.
2. We will commit to respect each other's views and opinions, and will always remain open and kind.
3. We will maintain a spirit of common purpose, let selflessness prevail, and be the change we want to see in the world.

Here are some of the things our initial core group could do:

Create a list of actions and services anyone can do to help Birth a New World, such as:

- Invite others to join us.
- Create local chapters for face-to-face meetings to plan local actions.
- Create New World Midwifering Teams, Global Action Teams, Peace and Environment Teams, etc.
- Create and distribute flyers with the Clarion Call "Birthing a Brave New World".
- Create an attractive website, empowering Powerpoint presentations, and use music and art to enhance our common vision and inspire others to get involved.
- Create a "How-To" book to raise awareness and recommend tasks and actions anyone from 7 to 77 can achieve.
- Communicate with other organizations with compatible aims looking for volunteers, and offer them our assistance. Help other organizations achieve synergy with other organizations through common goals and actions.
- Publish a newsletter to inform others about what we are doing and invite more people to assist in Birthing a Brave New World.
- Create fund-raising and awareness-raising events.
- Have fun through it all, radiate Love and compassion, and Become the change we wish to see in the world.

Many other ideas will certainly come forward from our group discussions to expand, refine and enrich this starting point, but I felt that spelling out right away some of the ideas I have for our Mission Statement, working guidelines, initial actions and long-term goals would help others have a better idea of what could manifest out of this initial proposal.

If you feel called to join this project, please contact me at ASOUL1@aol.com and let us build on the initial momentum. Let us bestow peace, service, action and healing upon all of Existence.

Blessings and Light,

Joyce A. Kovelman

NOTE from Jean: I found the following on the blog Joyce has created. It is both inspiring and empowering to imagine as she did what could be the shape of the future world we are co-creating right now. This is a good example of the creative and inspirational influence Joyce's magnificent initiative can help generate if others will just stand up and add their own creativity and genius to what she has started through her own inner guidance...

THE WORLD OF 2070

The world of 2070 A.D. is a vision of a new way of being in the world. It is a world filled with hope, promise and opportunity. Its people have achieved a sustainable economy and a sustainable ecology. They live in balance and harmony with the cycles and rhythms of the cosmos and respect all forms of life and consciousness. They recognize that all is One.

The world of 2070 A.D. is founded upon the integration and Sacred Marriage of masculine and feminine elements in our psyches, and a new spiritual covenant with Universe. The citizens of 2070 A.D. know the inner paths of soul. They are equally at home in the worlds of matter and non-matter, for they have long recognized that they are One.

Balance in population, food supply, and energy resources ensure that every child is a wanted child and is properly cared for. Parenting is considered the most noble of vocations. The “Mothering Ones” are esteemed and cherished along with the children they nurture.

More mature and humane solutions to conflict and discord have been discovered and are practiced. The world of 2070 A.D. knows no honor, glory or profit through war.

Elders are valued for their abilities and experiences. Their presence and gifts enrich the entire community in which they dwell. The Wisdom age is the culmination and gift of a life well lived. Advancing age affords an opportunity to more fully embrace and explore the inner paths of transcendence. Indeed, it the Wisdom Age calls out to us to deepen our connection with other realms of existence.

Creativity and the willingness to grow are prized attributes in the land of 2070 A.D. People of all ages are encouraged to create, to risk, to fail, and to succeed. Essentially, they are free to simply BE. Black, white, yellow, red or brown, all citizens are equal and all are cherished. This is a world that honors and respects diversity. Value fulfillment is everyone’s privilege; it is freely offered to all who dwell in this peaceful realm.

2070 A.D. inspires and encourages its citizens to become dreamers, seers and prophets. They have learned that their dreams and their future emanate from the invisible archetypal realms of the collective unconscious and beyond. The seeds of inspiration and wisdom are transmitted to 2070 A. D. through its visionaries and enlightened ones. No society can long endure without the arts, music, literature and visions that reflect its highest aspirations and potential. Archetypal 2070 A.D. already dwells in the hearts and souls of humankind. It symbolizes our promise as well as our birthright.

The enlightened, peaceful land of 2070 A. D. sharply contrasts with the shadowy, dark world we presently know. In our current world, we experience violence, despair, greed, hate, abuse, violation of human rights, and the desecration of Mother Earth. It seems unlikely, even futile, to believe that we could ever realize and attain such a reality.

We are like the people in Plato’s Cave, seeing only the shadows and hints of another reality. Like Plato’s people, we are faced with an awesome choice. We can refuse to believe and change or, instead, we can embrace the Light and leave our Darkness behind. Humanity must successfully accomplish an inner reconciliation of masculine and feminine principles, and claim its own shadow if we are to realize our true potential and to embrace the One and the Many. In this way, humankind becomes a noble species and once again knows itself as part of All That Is. 2070 A. D. already exists within the realms of possibility. It is humanity’s destiny and future. Carpe Diem. Dare we seize the opportunity?

Sadly our present world of 2007 A.D. finds us in the midst of war and recession. Let us, instead, imagine the reality and world we wish to experience in 2070? It is up to each of us to envision the world we wish to realize, and then to do all within our power to make our dream come true. To change the world, we must first change ourselves! Collectively we can make an impact, and each voice and each dream will enhance everyone else’s dreams of good will. I have shared my vision for the future that I fervently wish to bestow upon my children, and my children’s children. I invite all of you to share your ideas and dreams with me as well.

We all have a dream of a better world. Please share you Vision for the World of 2070 A. D. below and help us make it so!
